i also do have to wonder if part of the reason javier was so stressed about og lloyd inheriting the estate and wishing julian could take over instead was because he was worried he wouldn't be allowed to stay once og lloyd became the lord instead of arcos.

like. those two hated each other. it was mutual hatred, they literally couldn't stand to see one another. javier at least gritted his teeth and worked through it for the sake of his duty but og lloyd had no such qualms.

it probably would've been a very real possibility to javier that once og lloyd took over the estate as baron he would be dismissed as a knight. remember at the beginning he was not one of only two knights in the barony, he was one of five and the youngest one at that. he was not indispensable and much less so to someone who hated him.

yes he was genuinely worried og lloyd would lead them to ruin as lord of the estate, but i want to think there was at least a tiny part of him that was scared that when he lost the closest thing he had to a father he would lose his home along with him.

how likely it would've been for og lloyd to actually do this is,, debatable, i want to believe he had enough common sense to realize that dismissing the most talented knight the estate had was a bad idea regardless of his feelings against him but that's not really that important as much as what javier thought him capable of. and boi did javier have a low opinion of og lloyd lmao

so @epaccu and i were discussing what the full antidissonance suit would've looked like, since all we ever see of it in m:pn is crackpot wearing the helmet and like, surely it wasn't JUST a helmet right?

borrowing inspiration from sheriffs armor set (since MERC designed it), i have devised... This. Behold.

the main idea is to maximize reflectivity, to sorta bounce the harmful radiation from dissonance off of the wearer. the whole thing was absurdly clunky and probably because of this clunkiness, i imagine it was phased out slowly in parts, which is how cpot ended up with nothing but the helmet- the mind is the most important thing to protect, after all!! Haha! Ha! Ha!
