I need to know about the minamoto dad relationship with his children.
mood, I would die for any focus on the dad
#i think about it from time to time and it always intrigue me Anon#cause i don't think he is a good dad but I also can't see him as the 'abusive father' most fics assume he is?#it would break the 'i love my family and any hurt I caused was because i wrongly assumed my actions are for the best' minamoto theme#...is such a proud clan that values family so much too? so while the abusive dad route is not impossible...#the very little we know of him makes me doubt it? or at least not fully buy it??#maybe i'll do another 'overthinking one panel about the parents' post#only aoi and akane got one of those

Idk if your requests are open or not AAHH! But if they are:
(Possible TW in my request for mentions of depression, anxiety, commiting di3 joke)
Could you do a reader with bad depression and anixety. And maybe one day reader makes a joke about 0ffing themself and then they dont show up to school for a few days
Characters I would prefer(from TBHK): Kou, Teru, Hanako, Akane(boy)
You can add more if you like! :)
Im sorry its not very specific, this is my first time requesting something
Also sorry i know topics like these are difficult for some people <3
depressed!reader who makes su*cidal jokes
Anime/fandom: Tbhk
Characters: Kou Minamoto, Teru Minamoto, Hanako, Akane Aoi
Warnings: I don’t proofread, depressed reader, mention of suicide
A/n: just got broken up w by my pookie wookie☹️💔
Tbhk masterlist | Main masterlist
Kou Minamoto
Is immediately put off by what you’re saying and is immediately concerned, and gets even more concerned once you get together and just stares nervously at you while stuttering, not knowing what to say
“That’s so embarrassing, if that were me I would kill myself no doubt! Being so stupid like that, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself!” You casually said while looking at a post on your phone.
“O-oh… umm…” Kou is at a loss for words sometimes and tries to brush it off by moving onto something happier to distract you from thoughts like those
When you make a joke that’s one day too far he genuinely seems so much more concerned and ask if you’re okay. He gets so worried about you that it’s best not to make jokes like that near him.
If you don’t show up the next day, he gets worried and is immediately trying to leave school early even though he knows Teru will berate him later for it, he needs to see you’re okay and when he arrives to your house and sees you are, he’s very serious about not making jokes like those again and is invites you to his house more often to distract yourself and is willing to help you get help
Teru Minamoto
Gives you a nervous smile when you joke about suicide and even when you you’re dating he still gives you an obvious fake smile to not hurt your feelings. He knows that outright saying that if you need someone talk to talk to can be annoying sometimes so he’ll try to subtly let you know he’s there
Whether it’s from talking about a topic of a documentary of a tragic life of some celebrity and all they needed help to having Kou telk you that you’re part of the family and that you can tell them anything when you’re over at their house
“I can’t stop messing this up! God I really should’ve taken those pills when I had the chance, what the hell!” You said angrily at the fact you couldn’t get the string through the small hole in the needle.
Teru could only smile at you, he never says anything to your ‘jokes’, but then he stops and just goes to frowning hoping that you’re not being serious
When you don’t show up the next day, he’s not super worried and just assumes you’re late but sends you messages. But after a few hours the messages become more frequent and by the end of the school day he’s running to your house scared. When he sees you’re alright, he’s pissed and says enough is enough and he’s not taking anymore jokes and is instead going to help you
Hanako
He might laugh at your jokes, but it’s only so he doesn’t worry you. He’s not an unfamiliar when it comes to stuff like this and he knows you might now want to talk about it right away so he’s fine with trying to take it slow
On the inside though, his ghostly heart is scared that you’re it joking and you’re actually being serious. He can’t bear the thought of you dying—and especially dying this way so he keeps a close eye on you and has Kou and Yashiro even make sure that you’re doing okay
“God, I’m so stupid and useless” you say with a laugh as you look at your test result and shove the paper back in your bag
Hanako stares at you, and lets out a laugh that’s believe enough. He’s conflicted on what he should do, should he ask how you’re doing? What if you lie to him? Would you even want to talk to him?
It seems as if his worries have come true when you didn’t show up to school the next day and asks if Yashiro or Kou have seen you at all and to message you on those weird electronic things. Yashiro only agrees to go to your house when Hanako asked because she too was worried about you. Hanako waits impatiently the next day and sees you and you tell him you were just feeling sick. If he could, then Hanako would definitely cry and basically forces you to promise to tell him if anything is wrong with a scared and worried expression on his face
Akane Aoi
You’re the most precious person in his life so he takes everything very serious when it comes to you. A paper cut? He’s getting ready to call an ambulance for you and is frantically asking you if you’re okay.
So joking about such topics near him immediately alarms him and hea on full protective mode with asking if you’re joking or not. He takes everything you say seriously, he cares about you a lot so to see you laugh about it, hurts him a little
“What if I jump out this window right now? I really do want to do this test!” You whined and looked over at the window that was right next to where you were sitting.
Akane had a prominent frown on his face, he knew you weren’t exactly mentally okay and you’re jokes were becoming more and more frequent
He’s on full panic mode when you don’t show up to school the next day and the worst possible outcomes are immediately coming to mind. He hopes he’s wrong and is blowing up your phone and is willing to mess up his perfect attendance streak for you, he’ll fix it later. But when he sees you overslept and your phone died because wig wasn’t charged, he’s disappointed. He knew it was getting worse if you dying was what came to mind when you didn’t show up so he pledges to help you

We need more Danganronpa characters as evil groups, but not the Ultimate Despair or its remnants. Too abstract. Too bland. Fuck despair. Fuck Junko. I'm either killing her off or she doesn't exist. Danganronpa villain groups completely distanced from the Ultimate Despair:
Makoto Naegi is the charismatic head of a dictatorship. Perhaps he believes this is what's best for the world. Or he just wants a throne to sit on. This is an alternative timeline, maybe he's evil here. Either way, he managed to rope in his 14 other classmates into joining him in his empire. Byakuya uses the Togami Corporation to clench Makoto's rule and fund projects wherever he can. He's also a consultant, alongside Yasuhiro Hagakure. Kyoko Kirigiri is the head of the espionage department, with Chihiro as the second-in-command and head of data management. Kiyotaka manages the police force, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. Mondo, Sakura, Aoi, and Mukuro all work in Makoto's army. Sayaka, Leon, Hifumi, and Toko work in the entertainment (or in other words, propaganda,) division. Genocider is allowed to kill any pretty boys the espionage department lets her. Celestia rules over her own chunk of land as gothic lolita queen and is arguably the loosest link, but ultimately still abides by Makoto's laws.
The Danganronpa V3 cast has been corrupted into animalistic monsters, think Steven Universe. Gonta's body has been converted into a flying hive for all manner of bugs, all sorts of flyers coming from his eyesockets and mouth carrying centipedes, spiders, and other flightless bugs so they all can feed and bring food back to the husk that was once a gentleman. Kirumi now resembles a marble statue with a blindfold over her eyes and a clock on her backside, where her four arms and four legs move in orderly, yet seemingly random fashions. If you come across her, you have to play a game of following her increasingly complex commands, often akin to a game of Simon Says, or risk searing throbbing pain. Kiibo is one of the more threatening ones. With his body inorganic and unable to be distorted like the others, his mind was merely warped into malware that can possess anything with a computer inside it. This includes cell phones, calculators, thermostats, cars with built-in GPSes and cameras, etc. His body, the source of the malware, is still unknown. A two-faced gorgon obsessed with creating rudimentary-yet-effective deathtraps. A gorgeous and colorful false angel. A blob of goo that somehow knows how to use various machinery. Perhaps the three survivors are akin to the Crystal Gems here, survivors in a different sense here, the ones fighting their former friends for the sake of everyone else.
Ruruka Ando as the queen of what is essentially candyland, with Sonosuke Izayoi as her knight in sweet, delicious, and surprisingly durable armor. All citizens in her expanding country are given free sweets to devour, and those who don't are punished for their insolence.
Finally, the cast of Super Danganronpa 2 are a team of mercenaries. Evil goons for hire, as that's what they've been typecast as at this point. Maybe life has just been really harsh on them and NezumiVA was right. Or maybe this is similar to canon, where they got puppeted into evil and were eventually freed, only to annihilate their reputation by continuing to pose as villains, effectively pigeonholing themselves into evil from society's eyes. As for what they could do: Kazuichi could build a robotic army or just machines for the lower mooks to ride on. Sonia, Fuyuhiko, and Twogami could all rule conquered provinces in the empire. Nekomaru could command minions while Akane and Peko act as elite troops. Ibuki could too, considering the lethality of her music, or she could act in espionage alongside Mahiru and Hiyoko, considering her hearing skills. Gundham could add various animals to the armada. Teruteru can produce food for the army. Mikan is literally a medic. Izuru Kamakura lives on, and is the Ultimate Ultimate. Possibly even more, considering the timeline. Nagito Komaeda is the equivalent of one of those really small cylinders of play-doh that are wider than they are tall. I can't imagine Chiaki being in the group, however. Either way, I can imagine this quirky miniboss squad having various unique interactions with our heroes, whoever they may be. I'd imagine Nekomaru would befriend the heroes in an odd way, being supportive of their strength and a fair fighter despite being on the villain's side, while Teruteru would repulse our heroes for being a sexual harasser, for example.
Also @goshdangronpa I want you to look at this, girlie. Read it all. Soak it up.

terukane headcanons? (゜o゜;
I’ve been waiting to answer this one all day, I needed to give it all my brain power
• They met when Akane joined the Student Council in his first year of high school, meaning they haven’t known each other too long
• They were aware of each other before that, of course. Teru knows everybody, especially the Seven Mysteries. And it’s impossible NOT to know who Teru Minamoto is
• They actually met in passing before Akane joined the Student Council but Teru was in a rush so he brushed him off, with little concern for his manners since Akane is a Mystery. This gave Akane a pretty sour impression of Teru to begin with
• Their first proper encounter was rather hostile. As soon as Fuji was out of the Student Council room, Teru drew his sword and tied Akane up. He confronted him about his stance as a Clock Keeper and revealed himself as an exorcist. They agreed to work together so long as they kept an eye on each other, and neither of them broke the other’s trust. Another poor impression
• While Akane “hates” Teru, Teru doesn’t hate Akane. He wants to be his friend but he has no concept of social norms so he goes about it all wrong. There’s also the element of him hating supernaturals AND being a sadist so ofc when he has a supernatural on hand it’s easy for him to relieve stress via bullying and torture…somebody save Akane
• But Akane is really good at reading people, so he doesn’t hold it against Teru as much as he claims to. He recognizes that he is the only person Teru gets to be completely himself around, the good and the bad with no facade. So he complains, but he puts up with it
• We’re making this a mutual au because as we all know, one-sided ships are the only thing I’m too emotionally mature for
• Teru has liked Akane ever since he met him, although he repressed it. A cute boy with brown-blue eyes and auburn hair…then he turns out to be someone Teru can be completely comfortable around…an exception to his cruel lifestyle…someone he can trust…someone who puts up with all his worst flaws…it would be weird if he didn’t fall for him, tho Teru’s classic internalized homophobia won’t let him see it that way
• Akane’s moment was chapter 79. He’s pretty smart when it comes to love so he didn’t panic about it, but it did confuse him. He also felt guilty for it, he thought the only person he could fall for was Aoi. Falling for Teru felt like a betrayal to her, so he put those feelings on the back burner. He had to figure out what was going to happen with him and Aoi before he thought about Teru (let’s just say Aoi wasn’t ready for a relationship or smth, I don’t want to completely write her out I’ll put her in therapy instead)
• Before he got resolution with Aoi tho he had to get payback for all the torment Teru put him through. Duh. So he starts flirting with him when Teru least expects it. It’s funny to watch the way his brain short-circuits when he’s flattered by someone he’s actually interested in. He gets a good few laughs out of it but once Teru realizes what’s going on he adapts and starts flirting back. They’re both good at catching each other off-guard tho, making each other flustered is simply another part of their rivalry
• They both knew the other liked them long before they actually got together. They had multiple conversations about it but they both had their own hesitations. Teru was the last one to give in because once Akane realizes he wants something, he’ll stop at nothing to get it
• Their first kiss was very spontaneous and unconventional, it probably happened in the middle of a supermarket or smth. Fans tend to write it as a quiet, personal moment but nah, I think they both romanticized the hell out of something that was objectively awkward
• When Teru gets comfortable with his sexuality, there is no stopping him from the PDA. He makes a big scene out of greeting Akane every morning at school, and clings to him whenever Student Council meetings get boring. It’s partially to annoy him but he’s also Just That Clingy. Everyone knows they’re dating and while some students have a problem with it, Teru learns not to care
• They go on lots of “childish” dates so Teru can experience all the childhood things he missed out on. Playgrounds, arcades, amusement parks, Build-A-Bear, you name it. Remember when Kou took Mitsuba to a sandbox?? Yeah that’s an ideal date for Terukane. Though Akane doesn’t get as much out of it, he still enjoys himself. As long as he’s with Teru he doesn’t really care what he’s doing
• They plan their future together a lot so Akane can lecture Teru about retiring from exorcism. It’s an ongoing argument between them, but not in like an aggressive way. Teru knows that Akane just wants him to be happy, but he’s unwilling to open himself up to happiness
• Tiara calls them Mama and Papa. Teru is the mama (I am absolutely not trying to call him the girl in their relationship or feminize him, this is just a silly little joke pls don’t cancel me they’re both on the same level of masculinity; Teru just has big Mom Friend vibes to me)
• Most people were surprised when they got together because everyone assumed they hated each other (except Kou, who Teru told before they were official)
• They become a package deal, whenever one of them is alone someone will ask where the other is at
• My brain is too fried to continue but uhhhh yeah, they kiss
Hope you enjoyed these!! Thank you for the ask, I had fun making this <3

Types of Shoes Worn in Danganronpa
Making that post about Makoto's shoes got me thinking about the shoes that everyone wears, so I decided to group them together into categories. So below is a categorized list of the shoes of the students from all three primary Danganronpa games (I'm only including everyone's main outfit from their primary game). Let's see who's got what kind of shoes, and who's got the most fucked up and/or questionable fashion choices.
Note: this list will not include Keebo, as he is a robot and doesn't really have clothes or shoes, and it will not include Gonta, who does not wear shoes
Sneakers
Makoto, Aoi, Hifumi, Leon, Hajime, Ibuki, Kazuichi, Mahiru, Teruteru, Kaede (10)
I was originally undecided on Leon, Teruteru, and Kaede, 'cause theirs are a bit more fancy/fashion sneakers than your standard sneakers, but I eventually decided they were sneakerlike enough to warrant inclusion in this category
Boots
Kyoko, Kiyotaka, Junko, Mukuro (as Junko), Gundham, Korekiyo, Miu, Maki, Himiko, Ryoma (10)
Admittedly, I'm less certain on Ryoma. I think those are tiny lil booties?? But I can't really tell, they are difficult to see and the wiki didn't give me any helpful info. That is my best guess for what they are, if anyone else has evidence that they're something different please tell me.
Loafers/Slip-Ons
Toko, Mondo, Sakura, Akane, Peko, Mikan, Shuichi, Kokichi, Angie, Tsumugi, Rantaro (11)
Sandals
Yasuhiro, Nekomaru, Hiyoko, Tenko (4)
Mary Janes
Chihiro, Sayaka, Chiaki (3)
Heels
Celestia, Sonia, Kirumi (3)
I know Sonia's are technically also Mary Janes, but since the heels are the most prominent feature of the shoe I'm putting them in the heels category rather than the Mary Janes category
Nondescript Dress Shoes
Byakuya, Fuyuhiko, Imposter (3)
Slippers
Kaito (1)
These are in a different category from the slip-ons because. Come on look at them these are in a class of their own what other weirdo here is wearing slippers
literally wtf are these
Nagito (1)
Is it a boot? Is it a weird sneaker?? Are those zippers on it??? I thought Kaito was a freak for wearing slippers but then I saw THESE fucking things and now I'm having a crisis
#danganronpa#danganronpa trigger happy havoc#danganronpa goodbye despair#danganronpa v3#danganronpa v3 killing harmony#i WANTED to tag all the characters individually#but that surpasses tumblr's tag limit so i'm not gonna bother#i'm trying to decide whether the biggest shoe travesty#is tenko's socks and sandals or whatever the fuck shoe nagito put on his feet#my apologies for putting feet onto your dashboards but gosh i love shoes shoe fashion is cool

TBHK 120 SPOILERS!!!!
God. Yknow what makes me sick.
the possibility that, even if our main cast returns to the OG timeline, the current one still exists separately.
Bc think about that for a second.
What if the characters of that timeline returned to their senses? Realizing that in the short few days they were inexplicably stripped of their autonomy (in favor of versions of themselves they have never otherwise known), everything went to shit? What would they remember from during the events? Would they remember? Or would they simply be left with the consequences?
The Teru of that world waking up with blood on his hands. His own flesh and blood, his brother. If he is able to recall the events... all he sees is images of a defiled body in a well. And he had no control over it.
Nene coming to, and her heart is dripping with sorrow but without explanation. She never knew this boy, so why does it feel like there has been an undeniable, aching cavern carved into her being? How come she's almost sure that he somehow used to populate that vacant space, despite never meeting him formally? And this other boy, too. They were just strangers, and yet...
Sousuke's mother. Does she ever find out why her boy never came home that day? Death by a car crash... death manmade can't explain it this time.
And I don't want this to sound like a copout, but we know very little about the relationships between those deceased and the Akane of this world. But I can't imagine it not affecting him in gruesome ways. And Aoi... she already seems to be completely of this world. If she's the only one of this world who is conscious during all of this, would she be the one to fill the others in once the OG cast flees their world, if their memories of the events don't return to them?
And it's just a thought... but what if the Kou and Sousuke of this world never even got to see how they ended? In a blink, memories of the original timeline overwrite their autonomy, maybe even their consciousness. Everything starts going fuzzy when the intense deja vu gives way to memories that aren't even theirs, and their consciousness gives way to someone else's. Lives stolen from them before they knew it - even their death, taken away from them. Because their other selves experienced it in their place.
Who even knows how their deaths would be handled. Would they have to cover up the true cause of death with a more believably natural one (if they even remember it to begin with)? Would they just be forever known as missing people, truth omitted? How would the world bend to their absences? It's more than I want to think about, honestly, and yet it's hard to stop.
God. GOD. I HATE YOU AIDAIRO (i made all of this up bc I don't know how else to process wth just happened hahahahaha)

Okay at this point am just gonna start calling myself chai anon if you don't mind because it seems like am here to stay with the ideas (ahoge makoto, sharing makoto between students)
Okay soooooo i was thinking about class 77 reaction to their minis after leaving the simulation
And this is perhaps in an au where they all live? Or maybe if like canon only makoto, kyoko, aoi, byakuya, yashiro, toko live
BUUUUT basically they leave the simulation and are like :O
Because HEY their minis that they had to take care of are now not minis, just normal people
But despite that I think perchance habits are still hard to break whether it be kazuichi looking out for chihiro or mahiru making sure hifumi doesn't do anything you get my point
But I just wanna see when nagito sees big makoto or when the class does they'd be like '... nothing changed' because they're right, makoto is still the same clumsy guy that gets lost repeatedly and that sometimes the class has to look for him albeit not as much,so maybe like nagito would also keep up the habits he built on petting him or the class would sometimes pull at his ahoge if makoto insists on working when he should get some sleep
Ahhhh now am imagining it with the au of makoto being fuyuhiko's mini but an all honesty am all out of brain juice currently because am studying for an exam when I got stuck with the idea
This is a threat, you will see me again with more ideas :)
Chai anon-
(I look forward to it! 😁)
Mini Classmates AUs Masterlist
You know, from a rehabilitating-the-Remnants standpoint (in this AU), I'm sure the idea behind the mini kouhais was to give the Remnants an opportunity to care about someone who depended on them and couldn't do much/anything for them in return.
Like, the Neo World Program was meant to be a scenario where they were experiencing communal love for their classmates as a collective, friend love for those they specifically connected with, and selfless love for the kouhai they were taking care of.
But they definitely missed the mark on that last point, because the takeaway for a lot of them definitely ended up being, "Some of my mental health is now staked on the fact that this person depends on me and I get to take care of them and project feelings onto them and keep them close."
That possessiveness we talked about is going to be propping up a lot of the weight for their sense of self, once the foundations of who they are get shaken by remembering what they've done.
And when the feeling of ownership they had over their kouhais is challenged by them being people-sized, I don't think all of the Remnants are going to be willing to let go. A lot of them are going to want to act out some version of that relationship on the full-sized kouhais.
And after everything they've done, there's a lot they can justify now. After all, if cuddling with their kouhais keeps them from relapsing into despair and committing bigger atrocities, then they should do everything in their power to make sure they can cuddle with their kouhais, right?
(Basically, A Panel of Hope Experts, but for everyone.)
The matter of whether or not the whole 78th class is alive becomes huge, in this case.
If not, one imagines the Neo World Program was supposed to have a whole process for letting the proxies for the people who died say goodbye and go away and just generally break things to the Remnants gently and give them time to grieve before the full brunt of the apocalypse hits him.
Instead, the killing game happened, and there was presumably no time to adjust to their kouhais actually being dead before the Remnants woke up with a deluge of traumatic memories and had no one to make a little sleep space for or carry to the dining hall or anything.
They just have these six. And Aoi doesn't need Akane to cut up her food anymore. Makoto still falls a lot, but he doesn't need them to help him up. Toko doesn't need to be protected from Gundham's hamsters, Byakuya doesn't need to be helped up to the sink basin, they can take care of themselves.
But a lot of the Remnants really want to act like they can't.
And those whose kouhais died find themselves very attached to whichever survivor was closest to them. Hiyoko is even more attached to Aoi than Akane is; Ibuki again joins Nagito in smothering Makoto; Mikan is obsessed with the fact that Yasuhiro was one of the last ones to genuinely try to connect with Taka.
(Kazuichi is mostly just bitter about everything.)
If the 78th class is alive, then that's a bit better for everyone. Kazuichi would definitely be less bitter if Chihiro was alive to care about. But Taka should be worried, because Mikan will be the clingiest she's ever been. And Fuyuhiko definitely won't like being shorter than Mondo again.
In this situation, pretty much everyone can just fixate on their specific kouhai, instead of having to collectively share.
Chiaki wasn't really human, so Celeste doesn't have a senpai. Just imagining Mikan eagerly volunteering to take her in. It's as if she's just adopted two black-haired, red-eyed orphans.
Either way, we end up in a situation where, first of all, some of the Remnants will be very quick to make their kouhais need them.
(The Makoto ahoge hack, definitely. He'll be trying to get work done, and one of them just starts brushing his hair, and he's like, "I know what you're doing. It's not gonna work." But he's asleep in minutes, and they get to carry him to bed or let him sleep across their lap. And I'm sure at least some of the other Remnants have found similar things that make their kouhais sleepy or vulnerable.)
And second of all, if Hajime/Izuru thinks it will benefit his friends' recovery, he will make sure the kouhais need their senpais. Maybe he'll lightly poison them so they'll be sick for a while.
(Maybe he omits Kyoko from whatever he does, just out of personal loyalty. She was his mini, after all. She can observe from the sidelines alongside him. He'll make sure she doesn't interfere.)

Aoi Akane after the old timeline is restored — theory
TBHK SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!
Let me start by saying that Aoi, Akane, and Teru definitely died in the red house. If they were alive, they would've followed Nene out of the house. There'd be no reason to stay; that explosion would surely buy all four of them enough time to get to the big clock. Nene wouldn't have kept running away without them.
But not to worry! They'll still come back when the old world returns!!
Most of them would, at least. Akane may not. Unlike the other characters, Akane is not from the new world. He's like a visitor, a replacement of the "other" him. The other characters are alternate versions of themselves that are from the new world, and that belong there. They have all of their memories from the new timeline, and the ones that remember the old timeline only do so through dreams. They only knew that those said dreams were real because of outside confirmation.
I like to believe that what happened to Mitsuba in the old world is similar to what happened to everyone when the alteration was made: their souls were taken from the old timeline, and when they were born in the new timeline, those souls were put into new bodies. Bodies that looked and behaved the exact same, but were still different. This did not happen to Akane.
(For some reason, Teru is also an exception to this. Not only did he immediately regain his memories of the old world when the alteration was made, but he doesn't remember anything from the new world. I'm not going to go into depth on him, though, because I can't think of a reason why. It can't be because of his exorcist powers, or Kou would be an exception. It can't be because he was in the boundary, or Nene would be an exception. Maybe it's a mix of both?)
Anyways, there is a definite reason for a new version of Akane not being made. He's one of the clock keepers! Kako and Mirai were going to "travel to the past, alter the course of events, and remain dormant in the clock until a new present is certain" (to quote directly from the manga). I think it's pretty obvious that new versions of them weren't made, so why would it be any different for Akane? Especially because the school mysteries aren't even supposed to exist in the new timeline, but Akane can still use his wonder powers. (His powers didn't work in the screenshot I took, but that's because it was in the red house. My point is that he has access to them.)
Even if the other characters died in the new world, they still have their alternate bodies in the old world that their souls would return to. Even Kou, who was exorcized, still has his soul in the far shore. However, if Akane is the exact same version of himself in every universe, he wouldn't have a body that he left in the old world for his soul to return to.
Which means, if he were dead, there would be no Aoi Akane that returns in the old world.
So do I think Akane will be gone forever?
No. I think Akane will return to the old world entirely as a supernatural, rather than part-human like he used to be. He already has a supernatural form, and he probably died in the red house, so I think that's the most likely scenario. Idk. It'd be pretty cool to see that happen. At the very least, his leg would be fucked up.
When I first posted this, it was three in the morning, and I'd just got the idea. I decided to edit this to make my reasoning more clear now that I've had time to think about it and look into it. Here are some notes I took, if you're curious:
#i really wanna see this#but i'm more curious about teru#he doesn't remember anything!! he's also not from the new world!!#it would be really interesting to see with him being an exorcist and everything#it'd also be neat to see akane coming back possessed because he died in the red house but i doubt that'd happen with it getting exorcised#tbhk#toilet bound hanako kun#jshk#jibaku shounen hanako kun#tbhk theory#aoi akane

So- Danganronpa became a big enough fandom for me that I decided to make a side blog for it! And because…I need a community my dudes
Please do not message me or send me asks pertaining to charities and seeking donations- though I wish those who truly need it help and support, this just isn't a place for it.
ME:
I’m @snickerzanddoodlez, you can call me whatever you’d like! I’ve finished all of the mainline games / seen the End of Hope’s Peak High School anime, and though I haven’t played Ultra Despair Girls I don’t mind spoilers for it!
This little sucker is my channel mascot. Anything ya could ever dream to know about her is in this post
My favorite characters are Teruteru, Gundham, Ryoma, Byakuya, Kaito, Yasuhiro, and Togami! Fuyuhiko, Gonta, Kokichi, and Monokuma are very close behind :) (NOTE: I don’t support all of these characters’ actions! You know who this disclaimer is about, haha! And my affection of said individual doesn’t exactly extend to the End of Hope’s Peak Academy anime…)
I’m a Warrior Cats veteran, so…the things I make might end up being a little weird!
I also sell cute lil’ Danganronpa stickers!
I do commissions, too! Fund my Doll-gonronpa Collection
ASKS:
The ask box is always open for questions, discussion, suggesting incorrect quotes / art / animatics, etc!
By the way! I like to be incredibly needlessly angsty and cringy- so we don’t judge here! I’m still getting a feel for what does and doesn’t fly in this fandom- so give me the best you’ve got! All of your angst and ideas- maybe I’ll draw them!)
Just stay generally SFW (suggestive jokes and the likes are fine!) and keep in mind that I am 16!

My Terukane analysis after chapter 112 because I’m currently dying
The first thing you notice when Teru shows up the the panel we don’t see him entering the room we just see him locking the door. He has a look on his face the makes it seem like he’s reminiscing on something he’d done in the past or in their ‘previous world’
Akane shows no sign of hatred or sadness. In fact he seems fine with what’s happened or at least he’s trying to see a happier side of what’s going on. Also in this scene after Teru punched Akane his face immediately changed expressions.
He went from a solemn look to one of anger or rather nothing. Something devoid of feeling, even with a frown on his face he’s unwilling to show sadness, letting Akane know that he won’t go the easy way out of this like Nene would.
From his reaction you can also make drawbacks to his fight with kou. I’m both scenes at first he was shocked and upset but again in both he knew he was the only one who could fix things. So used to working on his own and being respected by all its now his duty to solve everything
Teru doesn’t have time for emotions because throughout his whole life he’s been told being an exorcist is what he must do. He can’t be normal, he can’t have fun, he can’t be upset about things because it’ll get in the way of the role he was given but this idealistic view breaks…
The easiest way for him to deal with these feelings is to distance himself from others. Showing them he doesn’t care means he no longer has to worry that they care. He won’t have to be stuck with these feelings if he knows they won’t matter to his friends and family.
Even when he says these things there’s always a sort of pained expression on his face that’s often obscured by either a body part or a dark shadow cast onto him. He doesn’t want to say these things but what more can he do in a situation where he doesn’t know himself how to react.
Anyway back onto the actual chapter when Akane heard Teru say “You really let me down, Aoi” that’s what got to him. Teru didn’t refer to him as clock keeper like in his previous sentence. This was directed at Akane for Akane to hear. Akane, had disappointed him.
Hearing Teru say his name in such a way left him unsure of what to say. Although he believed that the clock keepers were right in their actions he couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret at his choice.
Although he helped save the school he disappointed the one person he could truly be himself with. He wanted so dearly to believe what he chose was right but with that right choice he lost someone he truly trusted.
For Teru hearing their past future will soon be nothing but a memory really was too much. Maybe he couldn’t physically have fun with them but not even having the chance for those memories to say real was something he couldn’t accept.
Hearing Akane could so easily forget everything they did together was such a shock it was almost laughable. For Teru his time with Aoi, Akane, Kou and Nene was one he could never forget, one he was truly grateful for.
Growing up he’d never had the chance to play with friends, eat pizza, talk about himself and sing karaoke but thanks to them he got to experience the things he never got to do as a kid as well as ‘help’ his brother on his first date.
Akane expecting him to just forget them is crazy to him. Even mentioning that Teru would enjoy a world like this might as well have shown they never knew each other at all.
Teru couldn’t understand how Akane could so easily let go and Akane couldn’t understand how such a small thing as a world bound for destruction could mean so much to Teru.
Anyway Terukane real enjoy my edit (I’m gonna cry)

A lot of theories have been out with the new tbhk chapter (101). And one I saw several times is the idea that Amane was a clock keeper of the present when he was alive.
It’s understandable to see that so many people think this with the new chapter which seems to go into a new clock keepers arc, who are probably for now, one of the biggest question marks of the manga.
In the new chapter, Amane is seen to repair a big clock. One which is now in a sealed auditorium. He was given the task to repair it, until the end of the festival.
The idea of memory loss is the biggest point here. Because Hanako even remembers stuff from when he was 4.
If Amane was a clock keeper of the present, how would he have forgotten everything about them? It is possible that every clock keeper of the present forgets anything related to supernaturals once their contract ends, hence why it was never really implemented in the rumor that one of them is a human.
Hanako is also far from being Amane, he is supernatural . Or there is the chance that he forgot all of his memories related to some stuff when he was sealed by Minamoto Grandma. He may have forgotten everything related to supernaturals involved with him when he was alive. Since we have no idea if he remembers Nene from when she traveled in time during the festival.
There are a lot of possibilities on why Hanako may have forgotten about all of this.
Time is also a theme which is recurrent in a lot of things that concern Amane/Hanako. And this new page seems to highlight it.
Hanako is a ghost, a being stopped in Time. Time being stopped has a lot of time been associated with death in tbhk. And he is obsessed with Time, the idea to stop and manipulate it, and he has been since a long time in the manga. His first idea to save Nene was probably linked to the clock keepers, and he has a strange interest in Akane and his powers, going as far as to try to blackmail him to have something out of him. He wishes to stop Nene’s time or time in general. To save Nene, to enjoy the present, and to prevent his friends from moving on without him.
Amane is the only human who got his fate changed. Aoi and Nene were about to have it changed too. I strongly believe that a supernatural being/occurence needs to be here for a fate to change. It’s not a stretch to imagine for Amane, that all those back and forth in time altered his fate. With Nene going back in time to see him twice, stealing a key in the first memory, and making him accidentally make a wish to see her again in the second. Tsukasa also has been back in the future and back to his time, and a supernatural thing was always the cause of it.
So did the clock keepers change Amane’s fate or at least push him into this direction?
Even if Amane wasn’t a part of the clock keepers, there is a high chance that this clock is still linked to them. If the clock he was repairing was the clock keeper’s, then he would have had his time taken away, as the rumor said.
But it’s heavily implied that Amane killed himself. I personally don’t think it’s the clock keepers’ clock, because the one presented in the mysteries meeting is way closer in terms of imagery to the clock keepers’ clocks. It may be though, the clock keepers’ clock from the rumor.
The clock we see during the mysteries’ meeting is probably in a boundary, so far away from human’s eyes. The one people may have seen may be the grand clock Amane is repairing. Amane may have been known for trying to fix this clock, and he died. People definitely knew he did, a (probably) murder-suicide in school would have been talked about between students, resulting in creating or altering the rumor of the clock keepers. Rumors and Legends always have a part of truth, but a lot of things in the rumors told by humans are wrong. About n°2, n°4, n°6 and even °7. Even if this is a stretch I still think it’s interesting to point it out.
There are a lot of question marks around this plot tbh or if this is even a real theory. There is also a lot which doesn't really add up for Amane to be part of the clock keepers.
The first one is the most obvious. The lack of reaction when Hanako met the clock keepers. Even if Hanako is really good at hiding stuff he doesn’t want people to see, his reaction to the clock is absolutely not controlled. Hanako never talks about himself, or at least tries not to divulge information. When he talks to Nene here, it’s mostly from shock, because he knows something happened, but he can’t remember what and why he was asked to take care of this clock. He fears not remembering things because he has no control over it. He acts like this in all his encounters with Tsukasa for example. When he meets the clock keepers, either in flashback or just meeting Akane, he has absolutely no reaction contrary to the way he is in front of the grand clock in the auditorium. If he was part of the clock keepers for 1-2 years (since he died at 13) I think he would have some reaction if it was such a big part of his last years of life.
The mysteries are absolutely awful at socializing but they still recognize and know each other, even if from far away. Some of them know what has been going on, and who has each seat. Yako and Hakubo still instantly recognized him as number 7, even if Hakubo clearly isn’t the type to go out often and Yako hasn’t seen Hanako in a long time. The only one who is not well known is, understandably, Akane who has been here only for 3-4 years.
The only character who knows absolutely everything that is going on, is number 5, Tsuchigomori. Who is also Amane’s teacher. I think their relationship would have been different if Amane was involved with supernaturals. He calls him Yugi and not by any number and he acts a lot with Amane, playing the role of the teacher, which he rarely does when he is known to be supernatural by the person in front of him. I am pretty sure Tsuchigomori and Akane know each other from far away, Tsuchigomori dropped the biggest set up about Akane not being fully human after all when talking to Nene.
I won’t cross the idea that AidaIro just wanted to hide it if Amane was a clock keeper, but I still think it’s strange. Especially when we know that this memory we see in the 4pm bookstacks is coming from Tsuchi and not Hanako.
So except if Hanako has lost all memories of the clock keepers (which is a pretty weak plot point in my opinion) I don’t think Amane was the clock keeper of the present.
After all, what do we know about the clock keepers and especially the one of the present for now?
I think there is a possibility that Akane is the first human clock keeper.
Let’s only focus on what we know in the manga for now, it is pretty obvious that Hanako doesn’t know where the boundary of the clock keepers is.
And it leads to some questions: We can see that Hanako here is talking with two clock keepers, except if Mirai can change shape, it is safe to assume that those two here are the clock keepers of the present and the past.
Why would Hanako say this if he actually met the clock keeper of the present before? The first idea is that it is someone like Tsuchigomori, but Akane is human. Even if it makes sense for the representative of the present to be like this (he is living in the present with people contrary to all supernaturals) the idea that the present is a human, or at least, hiding as a student, is also a supernatural’s only rumor. This is something the humans who spread rumors never ever heard about.
Number 6 seems rather shocked/confused to see a human stopping time. Akane can’t hide his presence from other supernaturals even with his glasses. Hakubo didn’t check if he was related to the supernaturals or not when Akane was not even wearing his glasses. Was he even aware of the fact that one of the clock keepers was human in the first place?
As I said before, If the clock keepers of the present were humans even before Akane, the only reason I can think of for them to never say anything or just continue with their life is because they forget everything once the contract ends.
The fact that the Minamotos never interfered when they did with Number 7 in the past (Minamoto grandma) is also pretty strange. Supernaturals, especially the mysteries aren’t supposed to drag humans with them or hurt them. Teru said that the mysteries are a threat now after the story with Yako and how she put students’ lives at risk. The clock keepers endangered Aoi and Akane’s life. If they always used such methods to recruit each clock keeper of the present and then turned a human half supernatural, I think it’s enough to make n° 1 at the top of the ‘to exorcize’ list of the Minamotos. Teru even insists on the fact that he let things slide only because Akane is human.
Another big point, is the names. Even in a bonus Hanako doesn't hesitate to name a dog with Nene and Kou.
If the clock keeper of the present before Akane was human, they would have already given a name to them in my opinion. It’s a natural thing humans do, not caring/giving names is a really supernaturals thing. Hakubo never had a name before Sumire gave him one either, his master despite being his parental figure never had a name, the mysteries call each other only by numbers (or insults). Sumire gave him one because she acknowledges him as a person she cares about, contrary to all the exorcists who had to give him orders before. Mirai uses the name Akane gave her to name herself a lot, even Kako reacts when he is being called. Akane doesn’t even like the clock keepers, says that he doesn’t care about how supernaturals are called but he still gave them names because they didn’t have any before he became one.
Mirai is canonly stupid, like really stupid. Kako has more restraint so it makes sense for him to show absolutely nothing. But Mirai is really really attached to Akane, she doesn’t hesitate to jump on him or annoy him whenever she wants. And she is also the one who noticed Akane when he was only a first year to recruit him. I really think if Amane had anything to do with the clock keepers she wouldn’t be able to hide it. Especially if she gets attached like this to the clock keeper of the present.
Even if Akane is not the first human clock keeper of the present. I still hope we will have answers on what they really are and on how they are chosen, and where are the ones who were here before Akane, what happened to them?
We are close to a new clock keepers arc with all the clocks imagery in this chapter. The clock keepers also have the power that most people want to use and which is acknowledged even by strong characters as a real advantage/threat since the beginning of the manga. A power that both side has been trying to have (mostly Hanako vs Teru first and now probably the main characters vs the broadcasting club). They also are the oldest mystery, and Kako always appears to have a lot of authority even if he isn’t techically the leader.
Natsuhiko coming to see Akane at the end of the chapter is also for something. The manga has been building up the fact that Akane is the weak link of the three and he has been approached by nearly half of the cast at this point. And not to have his help as Akane, but clearly because he is n°1. He has less knowledges than the other two, and mostly he is human. He has weaknesses and is mortal, he is way easier to approach and blackmail than the other two even if he is as he says ‘the lowest of the clock keepers’.
The next arc will probably be about number 1, and the grand clock has something to do with them. The red house imagery having so many clocks and the Yugis having so much time travel in their story must be for something.
I also really wonder what will happen if the grand clock start moving again and what needs to be done for making it work.
I can’t wait to see what AidaIro plan to do with all these characters and how linked to the clock keepers the Yugi backstory will be.

Terukaneaoi murderers au! Heavily inspired by @pedi-bug's Camp AU
warning: ooc, murder, violence.
Set in 1991, in a world with no ghosts.
Teru is part of a mercenary family, if a Minamoto gets paid, they kill, and because of this upbringing, he doesn't value human life, with the exception of his family's lives. He longs for playtime with kids his age and attending parties but he doesn’t have the time, he tries his best to have fun on the job instead, developing sadistic tendencies over the years: if he can't laugh with someone, hearing them scream and beg for mercy will do just fine.
It's a bad habit of his, to torture his targets, the clan finds it a nuisance since a quick kill is far less risky and efficient, but Teru is good at taking people to isolated places and making others believe the death was caused by some wild animal, so his bosses reluctantly let him do as he pleases. It annoys them, and the clan knows Teru knows, but he get all his jobs done, they can't do much about it.
He kills animals sometimes (except cats cause his family owns one and he doesn’t want to kill something that reminds him of his family) but doesn't make a habit out of it, aware his public image need to be trustworthy. He loves praises, so he is a little happy to have fans, he encourages attention and is so loved that no one ever suspects him.
Aoi's family is just her and her mom, she doesn't make any friends but she has been drowning in admirers from a young age. Aoi doesn't like violence (she doesn't like to get hurt) so when she is cornered by the kindergarten bullies and forced into dating the 'king of the playground', she holds hands, gets hugged, and follows the boy around, but she hates being a trophy, she wants to die, she wants to squash her 'boyfriend' like the bugs in her garden, like her mom had gotten rid of her dad.
She puts rat poison on her boyfriend's drink and says is a gift. He dies. She is in shock at first, she only wanted to make him sick, not kill him, but it feels oddly pleasant to go to the kid's funeral, as if she has some control of other people’s life, as if it proved a point that despite her frail body and lack of ambition, she really is above those people.
She wanted to kill someone again but mom said she got lucky she is too young to be suspected, she should stop. She promised her mom she wouldn't kill again but she goes back on her word pretty quickly, unhappy about her life. She didn’t want to get caught though, so she aimed to kill someone that is not perceived as related in any way to her.
Teru caught Aoi in the act when she is fourteen, he is intrigued, able to tell she isn’t trained. They occasionally ran into each other in the dead of the night.
Teru is infuriating to Aoi, she hates how easily he can find her, how incompetent he makes her look, she hates him. She had felt ashamed when she killed her first adult and couldn't get rid of every evidence fast enough, so Teru had to help her, saving her from being caught. Sometimes he gives her murder tips, happy he can talk with someone about his job, even if Aoi doesn’t share his passion for blood, preferring clean murders, usually poison based, her talks about flowers and the ways she occasionally relates gardening with murder (both give her the power to decide if a living being will flourish or die) makes him curious.
Their meetings are the closest thing to a game Teru has ever played, he loves to find who her next target is, and try to end them before her. It is frowned upon in his clan to kill without being financially compensated for it but 'playing' with Aoi left him happy enough to finish his kills quickly, no longer going out of his way to destroy all his targets.
One day they are sent to a summer camp and Aoi sets her eyes on the son of the owner, a friendly boy who helps everyone in need with a smile, so kind, so determined, so lovable, he is everything she wishes she could be, even his name, Akane Aoi, seemed to mock her.
She wants him dead.
Akane is rarely alone, he is perceptive and smart, but Aoi wasn’t too worried at first, noticing he is a trusting fool and well aware people love to help a cute and delicate girl, it would be easy to pretend she is having trouble with something and isolate him where he could have a tragic accident.
Unfortunately for her, Akane gets wary of her and teru way more easily than anyone else, eager to help but keeping their interactions short from the get go.
It’s odd.
Aoi is frustrated, she never liked to work too hard, but at this point it would be a bruise to her ego if she gave up. She tried inviting him to paint her nails, having prepared toxic paint to do his nails back, but he picked the same nail polish color as hers so they matched, she tried to drug his drink but he always seemed to notice when it got spiked, throwing it away.
Teru is intrigued by the challange, he calls Akane to help build his tent and tries to lure him with manual jobs to separate him from the group, but his plans never quite work, Akane doesn't get tired no matter how much he works, he doesn't hesitate to call Teru out on task he should be able to complete on his own, and is too fast to fall in any traps. He also sees better than Teru in the dark, a very rare feat.
It's the first time a mutual target lasted more than a week, and the two talk about it a lot, even if Aoi refuses any of Teru's offers to team up, she does agree to share any information they get on him.
Akane is a half-blood vampire in an era where vampires are basically instinct. He can age, go in the sun, and eat human food, his retractable fangs helping him feel like a normal boy, but he still craves blood and his senses are inhuman, he cannot help but feel dazed and suspicious of Aoi and Teru. He thinks Aoi is really cute and sweet, so he drops his guard with her sometimes, being genuine and gentle with her, but his guard always comes back when he catches a hint of poison under her flowery scent.
Teru smells like blood, the mercenary has been so soaked in it since he was a child that it became a part of his scent, he cannot fool a vampire’s nose. He kills wild animals during camp sometimes, and Akane never catches him in the act but he can smell it, it drives him crazy, he wants to bite Teru so bad that he avoids him, his wariness mixed with hunger. Teru can feel his eyes on him, and he is as wary as he is intrigued by the attention Akane gives him, which is different from the strange switch between favoritism and distrust he has with Aoi.
Aoi is conflicted when Akane reprimands anyone who harasses her and shows genuine worry for her well being, yet refuses to have a hike alone with her, it bothers her to the point she finds herself fake smiling less to catch his attention every time she tries to poison him. Teru gets easily attached to Akane, cause the boy can fight well and he heals fast when Teru hurts him. Akane is willing to play even the most basic of games with him too, and many of his murder attempts get pushed aside so they can play hopscotch, a more violent version of tag, 'never have I ever', and many other games he had heard his peers play years ago.
He forces Akane to stay with him a lot, much to the vampire's displeasure, so Akane kills some animals to satiate his thirst, throwing their corpses in the lake so the drained bodies don't scare anyone.
Akane realizes they are only trying to kill him out of the whole camp, so he is convinced they know he is a half vampire, and feels a little anxious that they will out him. He also thinks Aoi and Teru are dating since they disappear together many times and come back without smelling of murder or poison, but he isn't sure, he is mostly confused by whatever their relationship is.
In two weeks Teru and Aoi are already attached to Akane, their murder attempts are more half-hearted.
They realize Akane has a big weakness when a hiking accident results in an ugly cut on a camper’s leg. Akane is very hesitant when bandaging the camper, hyperventilating at the sight of so much blood and clearly distracted, excusing himself later and claiming the sight of blood can make him sick.
Aoi doesn't like to get hurt, but Teru does not hesitate to cut himself while peeling an orange to test Akane's claim, amazed by the way Akane got even more dazed and anxious with him than with the injured camper, to the point others got worried, and Lemon decided to be the one to bandage Teru so his friend could calm down.
The two are hit with a golden way to kill Akane, but they procrastinate it, deciding to kill their friend on the last day of camp. Is not like they'll see him again after camp even if he stays alive after all.
#edit: added a lil art :D#akane basically lives in the camp#idk if teruaoi goes to the same school I guess their school life is open to interpretation.#teru minamoto#aoi akane#akane aoi#tbhk#toilet bound hanako kun#terukane#aoikane#aoiaoi#teruaoi#terukaneaoi#terukaneaoi murder au#these kind of insane aus scratches an itch#i will try to battle my art block to draw for it#my love for vampires is so stupidly obvious at this point rip

Part 1 of most likely 2
Characters:
Nene Yashiro, Aoi Akane (Girl), Aoi Akane (Boy), Teru Minamoto, Kou Minamoto, Mitsuba Souske
Part 2
Nene Yashiro
* it’s cannon that she’s good with plants as she’s in the gardening club
* Also that she’s better with veggies and food type of gardening compared to flower type
* She definitely has tried to raise flowers at home but just couldn’t so now she raises lots of green type plants that she feeds to her hamster!
* Well, one plant she can grow that has a flower is the cactus, and somehow it has a multitude of flowers
* Why? No one knows but her green thumb is definitely not in the flower type of gardening
Aoi Akane (Girl)
* it’s also canon for her to be a good gardener like Nene as she’s also in the gardening club
* Complete opposite of Nene, can’t grow food stuff to save her life
* But her flowers are the prettiest
* Also cant raise any ferns or green plants
* Can raise Cacti though
* The thing she and Nene bonds over
Akane Aoi (Boy)
* OFC THIS BOY IS GOOD AT GARDENING!
* Aoi loves gardening so of course he picked up on it too and is very good at it
* Can do both flowers and food type plants
* Doesn’t do gardening though so Aoi won’t have a break down
* Actually is really fucking good at gardening though, like insanely good like he is with everything
* Instead of store bought flowers he uses the flowers he got from his garden to gift to Aoi
* She doesn’t know this though as the flowers are beautiful and extravagant
* Raises Aoi’s favorite flower the most though that isn’t his own favorite flower
* Raises multiple cacti and they’re all so big and flowery and pretty
Teru Minamoto
* It’s funny that this guy thinks he can manage plants
* The only thing this guy can do is be pretty, exorcise spirits/demons, and be smart
* Does not have a green thumb at all
* Even easy to care for plants die in his care sadly
* Waters fake plants cause at least he can’t kill those!
* Only for 73% of the time something happens to the fake plant either destroying it or the plant get nearly destroyed
* I feel like he got cursed by a plant or garden spirit when he exorcised them
* But because of all the girls around him he’s decently knowledgeable on how to garden
* Can direct someone in how to do gardening but can’t do it himself for shit
* Does not pass the cacti test, man is hopeless with gardening
Kou Minamoto
* Like usual, Kou can do all the stuff Teru can’t
* Isn’t a top notch gardener but has the potential to be
* I mean like he could be close to Akane’s level if he tried
* Mostly grows food type plants for his cooking
* Very waste free and such, so most food scraps go into the compost bin for more plants in the future
* Helps maintain two small patches of flowers, one for his parents and the other that tiara wanted to plant
* Actually starts taking care of more flowery plants after his interactions with Nene, planting a lot of her favorite flowers and what flower he think she’s like
* He uses gardening as his time to relax and de-stress
Mitsuba Souske
* He can garden
* But not amazingly though, only simple flowers and potted plants
* Loves to take pictures of them and brag his head off about the plants
* His mother started gardening too because of him so he also has a lot of photos of his mom gardening with the pretty flowers or her sitting among them posing
* Refuses to grow food type of plants
* Says it’s not for someone as cute and pretty as him to do
* Oh if only he had planted some potatoes-
* After his death he’s still really into plant pictures as they remind him of his life before he died
* And after being remade again with no memories he still has a love for plants and flowers
* Says it adds to his charm
* Even with that phrase he feels some sort of pull between him and flowers especially the ones his mother used to plant often (not that he’d know)
* Gardens because it just seems like he knows how to
* And because apparently it adds to his charm
* Passes the cacti test

it's very popular for people to say that it makes sense that Teru would like Akane instead of Aoi, and yes there's a concerning amount of evidence but there's arguably more reasonable evidence towards Teru liking Aoi, and it's quite over looked, nonetheless it's not as random as you'd think at first glance!
Teru is quite interested in what Aoi does and likes, he asks questions on a regular, Aoi even sees him as a cute dog with how happy he seems, and in her mind he's usually saying good morning and asking her something
Teru as a character doesn't open up, especially not to students, we've seen him open himself to Akane some, and has fully opened up to Kou in the latest chapters, but he goes up to Aoi and gives his opinion as well as listening to her's. Teru is very interested in her! although they only talk ground level things but Teru is not one for being good at socializing, but I'd say for the students it's a common occurrence for the school king and queen to be next to each other
and here it says it's Teru's free time, what is he spending it on? Aoi of course! like his siblings he has no problem giving away his time to a trivial conversation, because he just likes being around her.
he gets excited whenever he's around Aoi
and here he's complaining about how he's tired
but when he meets Aoi at the convenience store he gets happy and bubbly, I know in this chapter it says he gets more upbeat when he's tired but Aoi's also around! the whole chapter he starts up conversation
he tells her all about himself, she thinks he's weird because she never asked, never needed to know and is very confused on why he'd tell her all this, but I think even Teru has a hard time understanding that, now this is just my personal character speculation but I think Teru barely understands this feeling of love, he knows platonic love, but being around her gives him this sense of security and giddiness, he's excited to tell her everything, so he just goes with it, he's heard people talk about this feeling so it must be natural, something he openly indulges in, because Aoi is just so precious to him.
and he's seen blushing here, I know he's happy but those eyes can't hide anything haha he definitely looks very fond of her there, and his "or something" shows he has not planned this out but simply likes the idea of doing it with Aoi, even seeing if she'd like the shark gummies better because she picked up the shark candy, although he's willing to take a no from her and do it with Akane he still much prefers to do it with her (also he's said how gross Akane can be around Aoi so I presume it's sort of his goal to treat her nicely)
and he went as far to ask if she hates him, but he already knew the answer he just wanted to find out what she would respond with, because he of all people would know opinion does not equal an honest answer, but she did give an honest answer, because she also gives this answer in her card, she puts "nothing I particular" on both opinion slots
but it is cute that she chose Teru to send a card, I think that shows when she thinks of someone Teru is in the runnings, he's someone she thinks about because he comes up to her, that's what she remembers him for.
anyways Teru is always a gentleman yes, but I think he was quite aggressive with protecting Aoi
he got In the register's face really quickly, making sure Aoi was safe, because it's shown that Teru very much dislikes Aoi being treated badly, and again, asks her a question, except this time he just listens
Aoi seemed very dumbfounded that he would ask her this, because Aoi thinks nobody really cares for her, but she shares this with Teru, because he protected her, and after hearing this Teru tries to cheer her up, I'm sure he knows being upset is no good, especially with how upbeat of a person he is. so they make the gummies together, another moment with Aoi I'm sure he enjoyed.
now with the most popular theory working against TeruAoi is how Teru acted towards the severance. Teru went out looking for Akane because of his glasses, and started saying how he wasn't expecting to find them on the far shore, looking at Aoi, he never expected to see Aoi here again. he may have seemed to not care but I have a few ideas working in my favor.
Teru is an exorcist, when he was talking to Kou in chapter 97 we could see how hard it was growing up, he's delt with other kids being able to see supernaturals and going against him believing that it's their friend, it must have hurt Teru considering he has no friends, and has to exorcise it to protect them from danger they don't even know of. with Aoi he also never expected to see her again, the woman that makes him feel bright, he cares a lot but has been taught not to care, but after seeing her there he decided that he can save her, he will, he wants her back, desperately, but to get her back for Akane, in Teru's eyes, Aoi and Akane are good for each other, he does not agree with how Akane goes about it but he knows they love each other, that Teru has no chance compared to them. so instead of getting her back for himself he's retrieving the one he loves to be with another. I think what brung him to this conclusion is when they were walking in the tunnel, Aoi was sharing herself like she never has before, Akane and Aoi made promises for each other, Teru knew she wouldn't make it but after hearing that she had all these wishes she couldn't do he wanted to grant them for her, he knows that she will be happy with Akane, so he will save her, for Akane. now he planned to save her from the minute he saw her, but he decided to do it for Akane at the tunnel, that's just my speculation though, but he did plan on saving her, that's why he gave her the amulet
we could also see how upset Teru was after that, he seems tired and very sad looking, there's a lot of speculation on it being because of seeing Akane so wrecked over Aoi, but it can also be because of hearing Aoi and Akane talk about the future where he knows he's not a part of.
now now I know what you're wondering "what about the body language signs that usually say he's lying when he says he likes Aoi?" yes good point! I've seen people talk about how Teru's body language says he's lying, and yes, it could. but I think there's a different reason
but he's been shown to scratch at his cheek or hold the back of his neck as normal mannerisms, heck it was one of the first actions he did on panel when we first met Teru, this may not be a strong counter argument but I think he's just shy, he tries to cover his face in the shrine and he says this immediately planning on walking out. the first time he said this Akane wrote it off as a joke, but in the shrine Teru says he wants Aoi back, and Akane asks if he was serious, Teru completely ignores this dilemma of nobody knowing whether he's serious or not again, he's always avoiding how he really feels, and instead he moved on saying he has a dream, she's part of that dream, Akane has a guess but nothing that can fill in that blank. but Teru words it as "realizing" his dream, now this, again, is just my character speculation, but it's been shown that Teru never had an interest in being an exorcist, and wanted to do something different, but being a cool older brother sounded better than persuading anything, I bet Aoi makes him feel like he can do a lot of things he originally didn't think he could do.
I'd also like to talk about this little interaction, Akane says that he'll tell Aoi all about how useless Teru was, and this motivated him to a high level, with what he says here it seems that he could not stand being useless in the saving of her, he thinks Aoi should be with Akane but in no means wants to be invisible to her, he wants her to know that he helped.
well, there's also other extras adding to Teru being nice to Aoi and making Akane mad, this can also be AidaIro hinting towards their rivalry. Teru wants to go head to head for Aoi but ultimately thinks Akane is better for her, despite knowing he'd treat her very nicely. and we've all seen how Teru warmed up to Aoi in the latest chapters! he seems very attached to her, all in all I think they have built an interesting relationship, on both sides, Aoi has shown she believes nobody wants to get to know her but on the contrary I think she feels validated by Teru in an odd way, a way she'll never admit, I won't say it's love but I think she could really enjoy having Teru as a friend!

A more positive take on fanon Aoinene
I’ve talked extensively about the problems with how Aoi and Nene are characterized by fans of the ship, and I’m not here to take it all back. However, upon reflecting, I realized I may have contributed a bit towards fandoms’ negative perception of femslash. That was never my goal, my point in all my Aoinene-critical posts is that femslash ships deserve to be treated with just as much nuance as slash ships. This includes criticizing them without needlessly bashing them. I’d say I’ve been successful in my journey to make the TBHK fandom take Aoinene more seriously, so today I’d like to celebrate that progress by talking about the things I love about Aoinene shippers!!
First off, Aoinene is among the top 10 most written for ships on TBHK ao3. It’s above multiple canon pairings like Aoi/Akane, Sakura/Natsuhiko, and Sumire/Hakubo. Whether you think it deserves to be above those ships or not, it makes me happy to see a femslash ship be so popular in a fandom. It’s still the only popular femslash ship in this fandom (as much as people talk abt Aoi/Mei, there’s still very little creations for it), but baby steps. Aoinene has so many fan fictions, edits, fan arts, fan accounts, etc. It’s rare for femslash pairings to be so popular in fandoms dominated by male characters. I think it helps that the women in TBHK are generally well-written and important, but I’d say the male characters still outnumber them slightly. So just seeing a fandom so invested in two women getting together is enough to make me smile
I know I’ve critiqued their characterization a lot, but I’ve seen some major progress lately!! Both with how they’re written, and with how the fandom talks about them. It’s not as often nowadays that I see people bashing the canon ships to put them down, and most of their fans seem to be capable of acknowledging their flaws. There are some exceptions ofc but I see Aoinene mischaracterization way less than when I first got into the fandom. I’ve seen an increase in people depicting them as “toxic/doomed yuri,” aka the term that lowkey saved sapphic ships in fandoms lol. Keep in mind that when TBHK first came out, femslash was not nearly as popular as it is now (and we’re only just beginning, there’s still a long way to go). It was common, and still is, for femslash ships in shonen fandoms to be depicted as the fluffy, unproblematic side pairing. Fans saw femslash as a way to take a breather from all the angsty men. Aoinene was turned into another boring ship among dozens, but they haven’t stayed that way. With femslash gaining popularity, I’ve seen improvement in how femslash ships are characterized all across the board
Onto the fics themselves, I have never read an Aoinene fic I disliked!! (Besides the weird ones I skimmed for shock value). The vast majority of them are super cute and written so prettily. When I talk about their mischaracterization, I’m pointing out trends I’ve noticed rather than the fics themselves. The reason you don’t see me talk this way about Teru/Akane and Mitsuba/Kou is because I simply don’t read that much slash fan fiction, even for mlm ships I like (not anymore at least, I used to be way more into slash). I’ve read through the ao3 tags for p much every TBHK femslash ship, but if I’m reading a fic that’s mlm or mlw it has to be suited to my tastes. I could definitely talk abt how Mitsuba and Kou are mischaracterized by the fandom but I don’t really bother with fics that write them that way so it’s not gonna nag me to the extent that Aoinene mischaracterization does.
I'm saying this because I don’t want it to seem like I’m targeting them unfairly compared to other ships, I point out room for improvement because Aoinene is my favorite and I want to see more diversity in the way they’re written. Hear that? Diversity, the problem isn’t the fics themselves, I just want to see more where they’re written in a way that explores their conflict. Fics like this already exist but they’re not as common. My gripe isn’t wanting to see less of a “bad” thing, it’s wanting to see more of a really good thing
And also…not everyone has to agree with me. There are some sapphics that just want to see completely fluffy wlw content, or that want to limit the angst to “it was one-sided :(“. And ykw? I may want to see more than that, but if other fans want to keep writing or reading them a certain way then that’s great. There are also shippers who wish Aoi and Nene had been written differently, and I agree. I wish their friendship was given more depth than the crumbs we get in canon, though I still hold out hope that AidaIro will give them development. Some shippers specifically wish Aoi had been a lesbian, and that Nene had been the one to understand her rather than Akane. I disagree with this take- well okay I would love a canon lesbian character but I’m happy with Aoi and Akane being canon + I like that Aoinene have their own set of struggles. But if other people wish the manga had gone in a different direction then they’re perfectly entitled to that opinion. I don’t have to agree with them, and they don’t have to agree with me
Now I want to talk about some Aoinene fanon tropes I love because I don’t see people do that with them that often:
• When Aoi gets all flustered over how strong Nene is…the reverse is cute too but I have a soft spot for damsel in distress Aoi. Let Nene carry her girlfriend!!
• Fics that have Aoi open up to Nene and let them talk about their problems. THIS is the thing we need more of omg I love it. This is what Aoinene is all about guys
• The flowers!! There are so many flowers in Aoinene fics!! Ahhhhh I love it sm. That one Beecalm fic where Aoi owned a magical flower shop and Nene took one home…it lives rent free in my mind
• Them having constant sleepovers, it feels so biblically accurate
• When they’re always going out and doing things together like going to the beach or shopping; again it feels very true to their dynamic
• Aoi pining is great and all but when people turn Nene into the pining one it’s so galaxy brain. Obviously mutual pining is superior but Nene being down bad for her best friend is so real
• I’m a big fan of fics that acknowledge that Aoi only gaf abt two ppl lmao, when they show her obvious bias towards Nene is makes me giggle
• Any fic that includes Aoi’s mommy issues
• The theme of seasons in their fics!! Omg it’s so creative. “my summer, my winter” by novaselic is a personal fave of mine (in addition to Beecalm, novaselic is also on the Aoinene Mount Rushmore btw)
• I know it’s overused in sapphic fics but I love when they go on picnics
• Nene showing up late to class and Aoi being early
• I love when fics lean into the extroverted side of Nene’s personality or in general have her act like an awkward ball of energy. Yes she’s very insecure and angsty but she’s also so funny and it makes me happy when I see writers capturing both sides of her personality. This girl befriends ppl so easily in canon, we should talk abt it more
• Whenever they simp for Sakura. Idc which one of them it is, it could even be both of them, it feels so canon. Sakura being the Teru to Aoi’s Nene is something that can be so personal
• When their friends know they like each other and tease them/try to wingman. Wingman Akane you will always be famous
Okay I’m gonna end it there because I could yap abt Aoinene fics forever. I might need to reread some, or find some ones I haven’t read yet. Every now and then I go through the tag and find some I’ve missed. Orrrrrr I might write Aoinene fan fiction, I should see if I can finish the Snow White au this weekend. No promises tho
Anyways I wrote this as a love letter to the Aoinene community; I love you guys, keep up the good work. If it weren’t for ya’ll I’d be alone in my hyperfixation so I’m glad others enjoy them as much as I do <3

hi!! i have two questions, i apologize in advance that theyre about mitsuba and kou, but theyre also about the yugi twins, so i hope u can forgive me...
first!! i see a lot of ppl complaing/being sad that hanako and kou dont really have any moments interacting together anymore, posting screenshots, mourning their lost early series friendship ... and i dont really get it? to me, hanako never really liked kou, he was more "playing pretend" to appease nene, he doesnt seem to value him as a friend... theres the "kid"(<deragatory) he does, to emphasize that he is the Older, Experienced Guy in this relationship and kou doesnt have anything of value to add... but then again, ive never really sat down to reread everything in one go, so i might be missing something... do you have anything to say on hanako and kous relationship and how/why it developed?
second question!! i noticed that mitsuba and kou both have a favorite twin who they are friends with and a twin who they think is an evil, violent, perverted psychopath, and those twins are swapped between them lol
so i wanted to ask, do you have any thoughts/opinions on mitsubas and kous outsider perspective on the yugi twins? who has what aspects of them right/wrong? could a fight over who the better yugi twin is cause a rift large enough to stop their budding romance?(<hyperbole)
im sorry if this got really long, and these are less concrete questions and more me pondering things and then presenting my half-baked thoughts to you for examination, but i always really enjoy your interpretations of anything tbhk so i thought id do it anyways >.<
Ohhh its fine haha, there are no characters I truly hate (I JUST JOKE...) & I like talking about everything in the manga, as everything has some sort of place in the themes or story! And I do care about all relationships from character to character, even if I might find that character annoying on a personal level HAHA. I like the entire 'voice' of JSHK!!! It's all a part of the beautiful web c:
I would say, Yes, I agree 100%! I've talked about it before myself. I don't see Hanako and Kou as best friends, and I'm not sure what incredible moments of pure friendship people are remembering (probably mostly... ch9?). Hanako both creates distance by using 'kid' (indeed making Kou always out to be more ignorant or childish than him…) and even Kou creates a distance by using only 'Hanako' (no honorifics-- Kou is actually generally quite deferential and polite to people he respects like Nene-chan or Akane.... he is a 'good boy'! When he meets Hanako, of course he thinks he is a monster, so he doesn't use honorifics… but he also doesn't correct this, later. While dropping honorifics can also be a sign of intimacy, that only counts if the other person has given you some kind of permission, or after knowing someone a long time … Hanako never uses honorifics for others himself, because he sees himself as above everyone, and wants to impress distance … and I'm sure because he is 'nanaban-sama'. He only really uses honorifics when menacing Nene or Akane about "Aoi-chan".)
I think in reality, most Hanako and Kou interactions point to something contentious between them waiting to snap, as I've discussed before.
In fact, we now know explicitly that Hanako loves his little brother & sought to save & protect him, so for sure a wedge was driven between Kou and Hanako the moment Kou declared revenge on Tsukasa. Hanako's blank stare, [... ...I see.] should make sense when looked back on! Quietly logging that Kou might become a problem for him, later.
At the very least, you have to imagine he is more loyal to his yorishiro than he is to this ugly kid. If push came to shove.
We see plenty of Hanako resenting Kou.
On top of that … he's competing with Kou for Nene-chan, not only her time & attention but even the right to influence her life or save her. Both in Picture Perfect & Severance, Hanako expresses this VERY directly.
Despite initially being OK with Kou making efforts to save Nene-chan, he completely walks that back in Picture Perfect; his sense of possessiveness and jealousy cannot in fact handle it at all. Sometimes people get attached to a particular older manga scene, and see it as inconsistency or random when that aspect has changed, but honestly, I think it's always a realistic character beat. Hanako once welcomed Kou to try to save Nene-chan, back in volume 6,
but .... as he got closer to Nene-chan, he instead pursues Picture Perfect & then the Severance as his own aggressive, forceful solutions, which no longer factor in Kou as anything but an impotent annoyance. Hanako once, incorrectly, 'thought he wouldn't care', but he in fact does! This is a form of character development I think a lot of people refuse to acknowledge, in Hanako (... maybe people think 'character development' can only mean positive traits or improving, and not something like becoming more aggressive or possessive? <- but being more attached & true to himself IS'positive' development for Hanako. Becoming yandere isn't a bad thing in AidaIro-sensei world </3). Over 20 volumes in, there's no need to cling to perceptions of their dynamic which they have evolved away from.
So.... you have Kou shounen protag shouting "I'll save everyone!" while Hanako is being a yandere like "nobody can ever touch Yashiro's lifespan but ME". This isn't a recipe for best friends.
I remember when ^ this ^ chapter came out, some people were upset/shocked that Kou could still talk easily about destroying Hanako, but I have no idea why. Hanako has only repeatedly proven himself unstable and untrustworthy since those early-manga moments (if a friendship stems from ignorance, what is it worth?). It is only Kou's dedication to Nene-chan that makes him help Hanako in the Far Shore ... Nene-chan is pure of heart so, perhaps so long as she doesn't see him as a lost cause, or as long as Hanako doesn't hurt her, he will try to believe her, and stand by her.
The thing Kou does have going for him, is his faith in Nene-chan to bring out the best in Hanako, to reach his heart. I think ultimately Kou himself isn't sure about the truth lying within Hanako, & he knows it won't be him that draws it out. To him, it could end up that he's completely crazy & dangerous & has to be shot like a rabid dog lol, or that there's something good in there. He's fence-sitting between Teru & Nene's extreme positions.
My favorite very earnest, honest Kou moment among them, is this... when he is approaching Nene-chan, after the meeting with Teru & Akane, during the Severance.
Kou checks in with Nene-chan because he's not sure where SHE'S at with all of this.
The actions he takes in the Far Shore are less "to save Hanako, as his friend" but "to save Hanako, for Nene-chan".
meanwhile, for your second inquiry:
Didn't a fight over Tsukasa already interrupt their relationship? Mitsuba relies on Tsukasa constantly, repeatedly, and this very fact made Kou cry, feeling jealous & inadequate, LOL. Kou's whole complex is that he wants to be trusted & relied on, and Mitsuba instead running to Tsukasa every time he is in trouble, racks up Kou's resentment towards Tsukasa. Isn't it so funny…MULTIPLE ARCS OF THIS!!!!
I would say neither Kou nor Mitsuba really trust the Yugi twins, or understand them, any of them, despite each being allied towards one in some flimsy sense. I think Mitsuba is correct that Hanako is a psycho pervert... uhhhh all of their interactions are SO terrible LOL
and uh....
(^I love this moment SO much ^ completely unnecessary out of pocket Hanako moment!!!!! No reason for you to look so crazy!!! DID YOU HAVE TO CAST SHADE??? lame weak Mitsuba .... haha... I love Hanako ahhh </3 Mitsuba is so pathetic & stupid to him.... such disrespect in PP!)
^ KouMitsu fans should love this protective Mitsuba moment, him staring at Hanako like this while clinging to Kou...
In mmmany ways I guess I don't think Kou or Mitsu are loyal to the Yugi beside them, wouldn't necessarily come to their defense any more than Mitsuba does in the Aquarium chapters (which only really argue a necessary dependency; though I think it's really interesting that in PP, Mitsuba defends his CHOICE to ally with Tsukasa, not WANTING to be seen as only Tsukasa's victim or helpless.)
Kou holds Mitsuba's loyalty to Tsukasa against him, but for some reason as we've seen thus far, Mitsuba does not hold Kou's loyalty to Hanako (or Teru, who tries to kill him) against him. I'd say Mitsuba is actually more humble/gracious & a little more self-aware than Kou-- and also devalues himself, wouldn't ask Kou to give up anything for him, because he is worthless (the entire point of his willing attempt at suicide in the Aquarium chapters). Kou screams & throws lightning around when he feels anything Bad, so more disquiet is expressed at Mitsuba. Kou feels more demanding & holds more uhm.... ambitions for what he 'wants' their relationship to be (one where he is depended on, is Mitsuba's hero). So there is probably more likely to be more conflicts surrounding Tsukasa....
I wonder if Hanako will ever do something so directly terrible that it would cause Kou to loosen his allyship to Nene-chan, and increase his allyship to Mitsuba. I would like that tbh, and it would bolster their dynamic to me, & I could respect Kou's stance more. As it is, it's hard to say much about his loyalty to Mitsuba, which is kinda only simultaneous to his loyalty to Nene-chan .... I would like Kou's fence-sitting about the Hanako situation to finally really hurt Mitsuba maybe, some day. If I had to have an opinion on it.
I wonder what Nene-chan coming to like/defend Tsukasa would do to Kou's stance against Tsukasa? What if everyone but Kou liked the little bugger in some way.... haha. That would be idealistic for me.
I would also find it interesting if Mitsuba actually had to do something meaningful to defend or protect Tsukasa. Curious if the vague ghost memories in Mitsuba's head in the recent chapters will culminate in any kind of reaching out to Tsutsu. Ultimately, is Tsukasa someone who tormented Mitsuba, or someone who saved & comforted him repeatedly? His active mind rejects the concept, but maybe his subconscious would feel otherwise. I dunno. A lot is ambiguous.
A bit of a tangent I guess there... so theorhetical. Well, nobody really likes the Yugi except for each other & Nene-chan.
