reo doesn’t like the sound of his last name.

he’s much too used to other people calling him by his first name because he insists on it. when they do address him as “mikage”, it feels like people are addressing him not as an actual person, but rather an extension of his father’s company, as their heir.

“good morning reo-kun!”

“see you tomorrow, reo!”

“reo, can you meet me after class please?”

it’s one of the first things that he breaks the ice with while meeting someone new—“oh you can just call me reo; no need for formalities.”

when nagi spots him glaring frustratingly at the back of a peculiar person’s head, he asks him what’s up.

reo doesn’t answer and shakes his head in dismissal, telling him he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. nagi blinks slowly and shrugs, returning to his neutral sleeping position as class dozes on. reo’s ears digest what the teacher is saying, but all he can fixate is the person one seat in front and to the right of him.

class wraps up eventually for lunch, and when reo rushes up to attempt to get whatever goods are prepared for today’s lunch, he accidentally bumps into a shoulder and a cluster of things fall from the person’s hands.

reo pauses briefly, the clutter of everything making a slight racket in the class. out of instinctual reaction, he opens his mouth to apologize…

“oh, gosh, i’m so sor—”

… until he closes it again tightly when he spots you in his field of vision.

his gaze hardens as you kneel down to pick your things up quietly. from the floor, you look up at him with a soft smile that doesn’t meet your eyes.

“no worries, mikage-san,” you say casually without a care in the world.

reo’s jaw grits at the sound of his last name falling from your lips. acidic, it gives a nasty tang on his tongue even though it was you that said it. he huffs lightly, stepping over you without a care and turning on his heel to leave the classroom, not caring about the whispers that run about behind him.

haru from extraordinary you - totally not projecting my all-time fav kdrama on him (or am i?) but xavier and haru have similar mannerisms and personality traits. yk how in the first few episodes danoh was dragging haru around and this guy just remained silent and followed along until one day he just started speaking? yeah that's the same with this guy. the person he likes could yap all day and he would willingly sit and listen.

moon seoha from see you in my 19th life - similar to seoha, xavier loves once in his life and he will only ever love his little star. he would never get over their death and if he's the one responsible for their death, he would be all the more upset with himself. he would throw himself into work all day and refuse to love again, thinking he shouldn't be able to fall in love ever again since he took his beloved's one chance of staying alive and happy away.

moon suho from black knight - they're both so overprotective of the one they love. the way suho essentially told sharon that haera is the only woman he would ever love is something i can picture zayne doing. if someone is out there trying to harm his beloved, you'd best believe zayne would do his best to prevent that from happening, even if it means giving up his own life.

lee suhyeok from bora! deborah - when zayne loves, he loves hard. like suhyeok, he's clumsy at expressing his affections, choosing to keep everything to himself and wait until he's 100% certain it's the right time to say whatever he wants to say. and sometimes, that can lead to disastrous endings (see also: suhyeok getting dumped on the same day he went to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend). both men are careful to a fault, all the more so with their beloved because they're scared of losing someone precious to them again.

So I... I got obsessed over the comic coming home.... (just found it less than an hour ago lol) Like ? Can you blame me but holy cow that's so beautiful. I mean it's sad and complicated but, it looks so genuine and adorable.

To be honest I only got into this ship less then a week ago, I was absolutely blown away by how much I enjoyed it since I grew up with sonamy (been watching them since 4 or 5 years old so more then a decade for sure) but I guess the 3rd movie just opened up the window. I love rivals or enemies to lovers, or just the two sides of the same coin ship dynamic... It's so dear to me and Sonic is extremely dear to me.

Besides your art style is absolutely beautiful! So so well done I love the colors, the lights, and the overall composition is absolutely amazing. Imma probably scroll through your content for a bit so don't mind me lol.

I'm addicted... Therefore I gotta ask .. will you do more? Please?! I'm begging you!!! I haven't felt like this for a while about a comic... So this is something special ... Idk how to explain it lol.

I Want to start with that you’re not annoying me at all and this just made me feel warm and happy! that you enjoyed the comic so much, thank you 🫶🏻

Once you get into this ship it’s very addicting. Their interactions and personalities work so well together. They’re so alike in a lot of ways, and I feel that Sonic and Shadow are the only ones who can really understand what’s is like to have the world on your shoulders. At the same time they are very different and that way the other completes what the other is lacking.

I was also a sonamy fan as a kid, and later I got into shadamy(I’m a sucker for opposite attract pairings). That’s probably why I fell in love with Sonadow, it’s just more complex and fun.

Thank you 🥺 when someone tells me they like my art it means a lot to me. I can be a bit too strict with myself sometimes when it comes to my art, so thank you for saying that.

If I was gonna make a comic of the whole fanfic of Coming Home, I should have started on chapter 1 🙈 I kind of did it randomly, and I kept on drawing more and more pages. I chose chapter 10 because it’s my fav from that fanfic, and I ended up doing the whole chapter. I had no idea people would like it so much. It surprised me a lot, and I tried to at least make it so it would still feel like it had a beginning and an end. So sadly no, I won’t do anymore of coming home most likely. That doesn’t mean I won’t do something similar in the future and maybe work with a fanfic writer tho ✨

It’s also because I want to focus on «second chance» and make my own stories. Working on two big comics at once just won’t go well 😵‍💫 I would feel very overwhelmed.

Huskerdust : 100/10 absolutely love. i rlly think angel could use someone who is good to him and for him. I rlly like the idea that they'll be super sweet and not rush into anything. I rlly hope husk has a part in freeing angel from vals control if that even happens later in the show!

radiohusk : -1000/10 i rlly dont like alastor ships (for more info on why read last post.) if its platonic then sure but romantic -or god forbin sexual- no.

radiodust : -1010/10 i like this one even less. we know alastor has no interes in anyone, let alone angel (as shown in episode one angel talks about filming him and al going at it as the hotel ad and al laughs and says it'll never happen)

radiostatic : -1,000,000/10 it would be so one sided like omgg. like vox obsessed with al and al being repulsed by him. that is a horrible relationship for voxs mental health.

radioapple : 0/10 could be worse. i get people like enemies to lovers but brah they arent lovers and never will be. like platonic divorsed dads for charlie is fine but people writing about/drawing them going at it like rabbits is just 😬🫣

adams apple : 4/10 not my fav but i can def see where people are coming from. Like in the fight when luci says "im gonna fuck you" he totally could have ment that as "i got both your wives and now i want you." if adam is even in season 2 (tries to get redemed after he died ends up in hell) i wouldnt be too horribly surprised if they end up having a fling or a possible relationship of some kind. still suprised but not too bad

appledust : 3/10 i like them platonically. like they gossip abt the guys/girls they like, talk shit abt val and alastor, vent to each other, cry together, laugh together, and try and get one another with who ever they want (i.e angel w/ husk and luci w/ whoever he might want so like adam if a fling does happen)

chaggie : 10/10 i LOVE them i just want them to have more flavor. i need their relationship to get fleshed out more. like we had one little fight and a sweet like 1 min song. I WANT MORE from the only lesbian couple in that damn show.

sir pen x cherri : 7/10 i love the dynamic despite how little of it we got in the show. like hes hopeless and she that bitch. i rlly hope cherri ends up trying to redeem herself to meet pen in heaven.

cherri x angel : 2/10 platonic is cool but romantic jusy doesnt seem right to me since angel is gay. i honestly dont know how i feel abt their friendship long term because cherri doesnt seem like too great of an influence on him.

adam x lute : 4/10 probably just one sided as fuck. like no way lute didnt have feelings for adam. he made her and she was his favorite ofc she was going to fall in love but i dont think he liked her back man.

Zia Miller:

My favorite one, she’s my Fallout 3 character. She’s definitely shy, mostly because of how she was bullied in the vault and how she was basically alone most the time other than her father, Jonas, and Amata (I don’t remember how to spell her name and idc).

Obviously she’s alone most of the time until she gathers her companions. So a little about her vault life, I like to think James (dad) was a bit of a workaholic, he’d spend late nights at the lab for his experiments and such, of course I’m not saying he’s neglecting Zia, he just works a lot. He also pushed Zia to be the best student she could be, she got her smarts from both her parents duh. I like to think instead of her looking a lot like James she looks like her mother (Catherine). She’s obviously close with Jonas, looking up to him, he’s basically like the sibling she never got in which she deserves one but at last, not happening (rip Jonas he was my fav NPC other than Gob). Then Amata, GRRRR I hate her. She is the absolute worse friend ever and no one can tell be otherwise, she makes you deal with Butch and the bully’s then just stands there when you get your butt kicks, honestly, I’m pretty sure Zia was desperate for friends and Amata was really the only option. Finally Butch, in the Vault she hated him, he’s meaaaan to her, bully, out of the Vault it’s the classic enemies to lovers trope that we all love.

Okay, so companions in game I really only traveled with Charon, Dogmeat, Fawkes, Star Paladin Cross, and Butch. I never traveled Clover, RL-33 or whatever its name was, or Jericho. I know a bit about the characters so I’ll just pretend I did end up traveling with them, I just never encountered or had the right Karma requirement to travel with them.

So Charon is obviously the bodyguard, she doesn’t treat him like one, she never asks him to do anything for her so she tries to be nice to him. Zia LOVES Dogmeat, I feel like all my hero’s of the wasteland are just dog people, Jem is an exception. Fawkes is a good companions, he listens and is pretty good in a fight, Zia definitely likes discussing different books or history with him. Cross is like a mom to her, obviously she didn’t know her mom so any motherly figure is good enough for Zia, Cross is also just good to travel with. Butch, like I said enemies to lovers thing going on, I love him a lot he’s just a dork and I like him a lot better when he leaves the vault rather than in it. Clover uhh, she probably gets a little uncomfortable with the pet names, like lover and stuff like that, but she tries and gets Clover to get out of that mind (idk if it works I barely write these two together), she also takes that bomb collar off her because she deserves a little freedom. She is terrified of RL-33, she just doesn’t like getting yelled at and definitely cries when it yells at her :(. Finally Jericho, um, she also rarely travels with him, I feel like she’d like him better if he was less mean and all that but I feel like he might get a little soft spot for her.

I like a little found family, but they all hate each other but get along only for Zia’s sake. Anyways, Zia’s got major survivors guilt after James’ death, rip dad. She’s now got both Mommy and Daddy issues Horray!! I feel like she’d be mad at her dad for leave up until he died, then feel bad for making him die thinking that she’s still mad at him.

Definitely didn’t do the Enclave, so she sided with the BoS. After all, the Enclave is the reason her dad died :)

Courier Six:

Six! Six! Six! The mailman with brain damage! Obviously I love him, love writing angst for this mess of a man. He hides his struggles with his humor and everyone just kinda goes along with it thinking it’s due to the brain damage. I feel like after a while the companions would obviously see through it but that’s only when they get to know him.

So companions, I feel like for all the games is kind of like a found family kind of thing. I feel like the found family started here when Six shoved all of them inside the Lucky 38 and just runs off to cause chaos all over the Mojave. Anyways, so I’ve traveled with all the companions in this one, Arcade, Boone, Cass, Veronica, Lily, Raul, Rex, and ED-E (and of course the dead money DLC companions Dean, Christine, and Dog/God).

So Arcade and Six are kind of together, I like to think that Arcade at first started traveling with Six because he felt bad and knew Six would get himself into stupid shit if he didn’t help him, but then once he started to know the man he started to fall for him or whatever idk how to write people falling in love. Anyways, Six loves Arcade and normally travels with him, it’s also nice to have a doctor to travel with you. Boone, my emo egg, Six feels bad about his wife of course or at least pretends to, he always enjoys having Boone around and whatever Boone says they are the bestest of friends (or at least in Six’s eyes they are). Cass, I’ll be honest I barely traveled with her only to get her quests for EXP anyways, good drinking buddy but Six isn’t normally allowed to drink (Arcade and Raul rule), sometimes Cass manages to sneak Six drinks though. Veronica is awesome in Six’s eyes, loves traveling with her and always finds her amusing, he loves her jokes :), one of the three that helps Six makes important decisions but that’s on rare occasions when there’s a disagreement between Arcade and Raul. Lily is grandma and Six loves hanging out with her, Raul is grandpa and loves hearing his stories, he just lives his grandparents. ED-E he loves, Six just loves everyone I think it’s impossible for him to hate anyone, I think he also just like having ED-E around because it gets a reaction out of Arcade. And Rex, the whole groups favorite dog <3.

Soo Benny. Six doesn’t hate Benny, he barely remembers him, he only knows that’s who shot him because people keep telling him and reminding him. I really think Six is incapable of hating anyone, at least to anyone’s knowledge.

Six has bad memory problems, constantly having to get reminded of things. He also shouldn’t be left to made important decisions, that’s what Arcade and Raul are for. He really just does what they say and call it a day. During Dead Money he listened to all the companions, Dean, Christine, and God.

He decided to do an independent Vegas, the first real choice he made by himself but also because Arcade mentioned it a few times and side it would be better for everyone.

Jem:

She’s the other fnv oc I made a while ago and I just kinda kept her. I feel like if she were a companion she’d be the only one Six wouldn’t get along with, she’s mute (not like Christine, she never gains her voice back) so he doesn’t understand her, she’s also just super mean. But there’s a twist, she’s part of Six’s past which is another reason why they don’t like each other.

I’m still working on the details of the backstory but what I got so far is that Jem and Six were a thing before he made the delivery in which he got shot and never returned. Jem was obviously alone for a bit and thought Six left her or ran off with someone or whatever idk. Anyways, she ended up getting sold to the Legion and was tortured and made a slave, only reason she’s not anymore is because of Six saving her. Obviously he can remember her and she didn’t bother trying to convince him they did know each other.

Oh, she also ends up getting with Boone because I said so and I like it when two angsty people get together. She obviously moved on from Sox a while ago too. I’ll post more when I finalize the backstory.

Nora Colón:

Finally, the mom in which didn’t save her son and watched her husband get killed right in front of her. The woman out of time.

So obviously Nora is a pretty moody as a character, no nonsense type of person. She’s a good person, just with everything that happened before the start of the game and during the prologue it had hardened her and made her an angry and sad person.

I feel like she gets along with all the companions. She also lies to the companions for a long time up until she goes to the Institute, saying that she was just some random person from the wasteland that had her baby stolen, not mentioning anything about her husband. I feel like the only companion to really know what happened was Deacon because he’s weird like that.

So Nick or Peepaw, is her favorite, she finds comfort in him and just enjoys talking with him, he is a massive father figure. Hancock is fun, Codsworth doesn’t like him because of him doing chems and that stuff and he doesn’t want it to influence Nora. Nora finds him okay though, tries not to drink with him though (she’s a recovering alcoholic). Ugh Preston, she likes him just hates how much work he makes her do, she’s a stressed woman and he just stresses her out more with all that settlement work omg. Danse, adores him but will never admit it, she felt so bad during blind betrayal, obviously she saved him without a question. Codsworth she loves, one of the good things about her past and she’s happy he’s still around, even if he is rather picky about what she does. Cait, Curie, and Piper, she likes them all just Cait and Piper is a bit too much for her and Curie… she’s just too nice, what reason does she have to be that nice. Deacon, obviously doesn’t trust him at first but eventually warms up to him, even laughs at a few of his jokes after a while. MacCready she baby’s, motherly instincts kicks in when she’s around him and always scolds him when she catches him smoking (she smokes but he’s also young sooo).

I don’t think she’d have survivors guilt, she didn’t really care for her husband. She definitely hated herself for killing Shaun but the synth boy scared the hell out of her, plus he wouldn’t grow. She’ll always regret not being able to see Shaun grow up without the influence of the institute or his father. Also gets upset when Shaun says his father was just collateral damage even if she didn’t like her husband she wouldn’t say that.

She sided with either the railroad or the minutemen. She doesn’t like the BoS and definitely doesn’t like the institute.

Magnus: Magnus/Morty is the most delicious enemy to lover. There is a thousand possible scenario for those two! Magnus seeking the second most powerful psycher in the family, Mortarion having to deal with witches... There is so much things to write about them! They would balance each other quite nicely too, with Magnus hopeful optimism and Mortarion pragmatism coming up to a more even result. Tho, I think my all time fav scenario, of how they could get together, is this: what if as a child, Mortarion send out a psychic distress signal as he was abused by Necare? And what if that signal was picked up by kid magnus, and a strange, long distance relationship started?

Alpharius Omegon: The hardest one for me to figure out. I can see them being fascinated by how unwillingly Mort is being used by the Imperium, or maybe them being assigned together in the hope their tactic rub off on Mortarion and he get less causality. Sorry, I'm running a bit dry here.

Horus: Horus is, canonically, one of the two primarch Mort has any attachment too. I usually see them as having more of a big bro/lil bro relationship, but it could easily be Mortarion pinning away at him too. Or Horus having that sweet secret romance! You can add some drama to it, and make it so that Mortarion is *Horus* side pieces, and he feel like trash about it. He wants! To be loved!

Angron: Mortarion has the best apothecary, and hate slavery. The Emperor could have given him to Mort in an attempt to help, and I feel like,at the very least, Morty would have been able to find drugs good enough to calm him down a bit, or ease his pain a bit. Angron would have probably seen a friend too in Mortarion, someone that was chained to the Imperium, and who also held no illusion toward their role.

Lorgar: You have unlocked my secret fav crackpair hehe. It's actually, so, so easy to ship them: you make Mort realise that Kor is a piece of shit. Mortarion, with his hatred of abusive dad, would start to do everything to protect Lorgar. And our sweet Urizen would look at him with bug eyes like "is this affection?? I now love you mind, body and soul." They would be a violently intense pairing, that swing between wild fight and incredible tenderness. And if you want to add spice? Lorgar can worship him, as someone choose by nurgle. Nurgle, being a deity of fertility on Colchis, would probably mean sexy time, wich would make their relationship EXTRA messy. All in all, 11/10 one of my fav.

Fulgrim: Fulgrim/Mort is actually really not that far fetch! First of all, they both adore Konrad, so that is a nice starting point. Following that, you basically just need them to sleep together once. Fulgrim, being himself, would make it the most amazing of time, and poor touch starved Morty would be hooked. Completely smitten. Not only that, but while he thing that all the fancy manners of Fulgrim might be for show, he would absolutely respect his working man background and admire his talent at making things. Fulgrim would also adore plumping him up, and pampering this poor, broken soul.

Perturabo: Another one of my guilty pleasure! Take the two big bitter resentful bastard, and see what happen!!! They would annoy the hell out of each others, and yet, they are SO similar. I want Perturabo to talk about birds, while Mortarion show him rare flowers. I want them to be their best and their worst together. The kind that hurt one another, but can't stay away. Toxic in all the right way.

... and Konrad: Listen. LISTEN. If GW is gonna write in the codex that those two are best friends, and then NEVER MAKE THEM INTERACT.... Then it's free real estate, I don't care. They are besty. They know each others secret hobbies. Mortarion enjoy Konrad weird bones craft, and Konrad is touched by the array of carnivorous plants he's gifted with. They cuddles, because no one really get them like each others. They have this tense friendship, like so many queer youngster had. The one were you aren't sure if it's friendship or attraction, were you kind if want to kiss the other, but knowing that it would change everything between you two, you stay put. They see each others at their worst, and only love the other more for it. I adore them. My precious.

so now here goes the different plots and paths with the love interests. the way i playrd it was as they introduced it, which was ayn aklaid lars claerence. no cael route yet which rips me apart every night. the love interests seem to have consistent values throughout most universes despite all of their diferet upbringings which i find pretty cool considering schoollife and royaltylife are two completely drastic diferent things, and also i nejoy how mc is written with more character and an amazing design to match the rest of the beautifully drawn cast

He's pretty insecure under all the arrogance. That's why he takes his job so seriously. So, he requires a partner who can remind him that he's doing a good job every now and again. (Even if he'll brush it off with a "Of course I'm doing a great job! Why on earth do you think I'd need to hear what I already know?", it still positively impacts him.)

At the same time, he needs someone willing to challenge him. Too often do people just agree with him on the basis of him being the prince, and he needs a break from that. That's why he and Xyla are still friends, because she's never afraid to say when she disagrees with him. The willingness to challenge him might be what draws him to you in the first place. At the start, he probably views it as being annoying and because of you being uncultured, but he secretly really likes when people have the guts to say no to him, especially considering the fact that he carries around a giant sword made out of his Grandpa.

Omg the enemies to lovers with this man would be LEGENDARY. The insults you'd both come up with would be unmatched. Meanwhile, Xyla's sitting at the side enjoying the show because Darius doesn't usually get to have as much fun as when he insults you. This man needs his arrogance called out and stomped on in the most loving way possible.

He's also a workaholic. Please send this man to bed because he will not do it himself. Prepare to fight to get him to sleep, though. No need to make food for him, -although he'd appreciate it- just get him away from his work for a bit, he'll do the rest himself.

Really fond of trying out new hairstyles, even if he can't do it often. He also loves having his nails painted, but sucks at doing them himself.

Expanding on a previous headcanon about how he's not good at being bad at things: He beats himself up easily(internally) if he doesn't do things wonderfully at 1st shot. He never outwardly shows that he's upset with himself, instead opting to display all anger towards something else.

Often struggles with feelings of anxiety around friendships and relationships. Because of his status, a lot of people only want to be his friend or partner for clout or money, so he struggles with feeling like the few friends he has are using him.

He's a master at bottling stuff up, so be prepared to have to break down multiple sets of walls before he even thinks of telling you his thoughts.

Shane/leah? Tell me more! They are my two favs, but i've never thought about them as a couple.

Okay SO my affinity for Shane/Leah is a fairly recent thing (I fully credit @coolcoolglasses and @floopthecooper for fueling this particular fire and brainstorming with me haha).

My relationship with this ship has been a month-long slow-burn enemies-to-lovers kind of situation. My initial gut reaction of "eh that would never work" quietly progressed into "oh wait they might be cute, actually" and then into "oh NO! i'm invested!!"

So, reasons why I think Shane/Leah would work:

"Hello, neighbor. We both live outside of town. Does that mean something?" (from Leah’s dialogue). They're both a little introverted, and a bit non-conformist, and they both moved to Pelican Town to escape their old life. While that doesn't automatically make them kindred spirits, it's not nothing.

Leah is the sort of person who's willing to sit with someone in whatever they're going through, instead of trying to fix them or cheer them up, and that's what Shane needs. He doesn’t need a savior, he needs support.

Bonding over nature/animals. Leah talks a lot about how much she loves farm animals, even before she's interested in the farmer, and a good portion of her high-heart dialogue is along the lines of, "Oh, gosh, a farm sounds so nice, I love farms! Wouldn't it be awesome to have help on your farm? Maybe me??" Leah would absolutely jump at the chance to help take care of the animals on Marnie's ranch, is all I'm saying.

Narrative parallels. Leah's arc is partly about finding the confidence to present her art to the world, which involves a huge level of vulnerability; Shane's arc is about a lot of things, depending on how you slice it, but vulnerability's one angle.

Also, not to project all over Shane (read: absolutely to project), but an important component of my mental health recovery has been "hope"— not hope as a feeling, but hope as an action— as buckling down and trying, even if you're scared or tired or aren't feeling positively about it. You know all those "going on my daily stupid walk for my stupid mental health >:(" memes? To me, that has recovery!Shane vibes. He's grumpy about it, sure, but that just means he's gotta do it grumpy.

And Leah's arc is chock-full of Hope As An Action. Being an artist is a constant struggle of "this thing I am making will not turn out as perfect as it is in my head, and I will make it anyway." Leah often expresses uncertainty about her own level of talent, but she puts herself and her work out there in spite of that, and she gets stronger and more self-assured the more she does it.

What they value in a partner. Leah values someone who's okay with simplicity, who's straightforward and honest (which Shane generally is, when he's not putting up a front to push people away). She also wants someone who will believe in her and respect her, and I think Shane would not only respect her unique traits, but admire them. Having a goal you're passionate about in the first place is awesome, but being willing to fight for it? That takes guts.

I think Shane values honesty, steadfastness, and realism, but also needs someone whose realism is cut with hope and determination instead of pessimism. Also, per earlier discussion, he needs someone who's willing to sit with him at his lowest points instead of trying to fix him. Someone who's independent and can offer support, but who's also good at setting and respecting boundaries.

(Also, while we're on the topic of Things They'd Appreciate About Each Other, I do think Shane would appreciate that Leah is capable of breaking him in half. Like, he passes her chopping firewood on his way to work one day and goes "hope this doesn't awaken anything in me" lmao)

They have similar senses of humor. They both have dry sarcasm vibes to me, with a side of terrible puns. I'm not elaborating on this at all, I just think it's true.

Consider also: Leah hanging out with the ranch family. Found family tropes! Coming over for meals, bringing over a hearty soup when the ranch fam gets sick, coming over to sketch the chickens. (If doodles of Shane end up on her pages more often than the chickens do, well…)

I tend to headcanon Leah as having been through the wringer a bit re: her own mental health post-Kel, so while her situation does differ from Shane's, she does understand facets of what he's going through. And when she needs to vent about Kel, or needs time to process something that's triggered her, Shane's in a similar position— even if he doesn't fully get it, he can still empathize, make space for her, and also sometimes get angry about it with her, which she finds oddly validating.

I can talk about this for hours but I will stop here!!

The main difficulty I see in them getting together is that Shane tends to rebuff people, and Leah would take his "leave me alone" at face value because boundaries are important to her for Personal Reasons (i.e. Kel-related trauma), so they’d need some sort of contrived circumstance to force them to interact with one another long enough that he lets his walls down a bit…

Once he does, though, they'd get along like a house on fire, and I have a giant cardboard box full of contrived circumstances that I'm itching to use on them :)

miguel o'hara x reader/oc fic recs

really wanted to put together a list of my fav miguel x reader/oc fics, these updates have been keeping me going and i enjoy them so much...will include the tags that i think are important but do check them out to view all tags and warnings!

For the Archives by alkhale tags: disaggreeable coworkers to lovers, fluff & angst, slow burn, spider-man typical humor, pining, pre-canon, oblivious reader, unrequited love (for now) remarks: i would be lying if i said this wasn't my absolute favorite. i think someone said this in the comments, but it's unstoppable force meets immovable object dynamic excellence. this is a miguel x reader fic, but i kinda view them as an oc bc they're so well written and i love them so much. like they're so endearingly written and i want the best for them dhfjksdhfjk....idk if that makes sense but this is just how my reading experience has turned out. the slow burn and pining is so so good, albeit the feelings one-sided and still subtle at the moment. but make no mistake, the subtle actions that show those feelings are written so so well it could kill a person (me, it killed me). the foreshadowing is also so interesting. each chapter just leaves you wanting for more. and lyla is also very fun in this!

put down that gravestone by danysclouds tags: mutual pining, canon divergence, married but not really married, grief/mourning, angst and hurt/comfort, parallel universes, really smart idiots in love remarks: if you're looking for a chaptered miguel x original character fic with plot, look no further. this fic explores love and grief across parallel universes, and how a miguel and xiomara from different earths find each other in a less than ideal situation. how do you even begin to process meeting a variant of your other half from another universe? there's a lot of sorrow in their story, and the writing leaves no details out in describing what loss feels like. but ultimately they're together again, so somehow, they'll be okay again. the story leaves you with hopes like this. i can't sufficiently express just how good this fic, is so please read it.

Every You Every Me by Astroboots tags: slow burn, parallel universes, mutual pining, forced proximity remarks: this fic has drove me insane in the best ways possible. a miguel x reader fic that's an absolute joy to read, but also hits you with sadness when you least expect it. reader is written so well and when paired up with miguel, creates a great dynamic that is so fun to read. i really love the slow reveal of the story in the first few chapters, i was slow to piece it together but when you realize what their circumstances actually are and why miguel is the way that he is in this, it's kinda thrilling! but also sad so watch out.

One Bad Day by puppyteeth tags: enemies to friends to lovers (the enemies part is brief), reader as a spider-person, slow burn, angst, fluff, hurt/comfort, gender-neutral pronouns remarks: i love reading miguel x reader/oc fics where MC is a spider-person, there are so many interesting origin stories out there and this is one of them. and it's not just the MC, but also the peter parker of their earth. it has a writing style that i would describe as fun and a joy to read. i really like the dynamic between miguel and reader and their developing relationship has been so satisfying to read.

Weedkiller by brotherblaze tags: mutual pining, friends to lovers, emotional hurt/comfort, blood and gore, sexual tension remarks: it's not tagged but reader is an anti-venom symbiote, after looking it up it gave more context to their abilities! i loved that miguel and reader are already friends in this, and lyla also has a lot of dialogue + is close to MC. i have to mention a part i really enjoyed though, like i actually yelled and felt happiness bloom in my heart at this character's appearance. they appear in chapter 3 and i was honestly so surprised that they were a part of the story too. i didn't read the character tags so i had no idea! it was a pleasant surprise, and i'm so happy the writer included them in this bc it's so rare. it's not even that i love this character, i actually don't know much about them besides their relation to an existing character, but their dynamic is lovely and wholesome, so i love them in this haha...please read this!!

Hey there! Do you mean if I were stepping into the shoes of the MC or playing the game for the first time as a reader?

If I were the MC, I'd undoubtedly choose Iris, hands down. I just wrote the first scene with her, and she is just sooo sweet, adorable, and pure.

Now, if I were playing the game for the first time, knowing myself, I'd likely lock in for Elaine (even though she's not in the WIP yet). I'm a total sucker for angsty romances, and the enemies-to-lovers trope (It's probably why I immediately went for Seven's route in Infamous😄).

lets think. what's a fan fav trope? sunshine x grumpy? when have you ever met a "grumpy" guy like rin? THEY DONT EXIST. everyone has at least a basic level of manners, and the people that don't are absolute douchebags who dont have the soft side that makes this trope so good. and even if a grumpy did exist, (you might be able to find a less grumpy version irl??) you wouldnt get to know them well enough for them to open up to you and love you. why? because they're BITCHES. like. IMMEDIATELY. no chance to say hi or get to know them, because it's "hi! nice to meet you! i'm y/n! what's your name?" "rin." *walks away*

LETS THINK OF ANOTHER TROPE!! hmmm only one bed? in WHAT scenario would you be sharing a bed with a guy. group of friends on vacay?? lets be fr the girls would all cram on one bed and the guys on the other. oh! for some reason youre the manager of their sports team?? first of all, girls aren't managers for all-boys teams (at least in the US in high school) but IF IT SOMEHOW HAPPENED, i absolutely GUARANTEE that the school/team would find another way to get you your own bed. there is NO WAY IN HELL you would share a bed with a guy. (as a girl, at least.)

what are some popular meet-cutes? first one that comes to mind for me is like A spilling coffee on B. that could be SORT of realistic but like what are the odds of the most gorgeous gorgeous gal (y/n) being in the exact same place at the exact same time as the most gorgeous gorgeous guy (tumblr fantasy man) and just so happening to spill her drink on this very specific man? ALMOST ZERO. this typa stuff just DOESNT HAPPEN. and on the slim chance that this did in fact occur, do you really think that a lot of guys would like offer to pay for your coffee and dry cleaning? NO. i had a guy BREAK my tumbler to the point that i couldn't use it and all i got was a lousy "sorry."
