Hi there, sweetheart…! I am so very proud of you for reaching out about this. I feel for you, I do. I truly hear your plight. And you are so valid. You, your feelings, and your experiences are valid. ♥️

Sexuality is a spectrum, it’s complex. It’s okay to not know where exactly you fall on that spectrum. It’s still completely valid nonetheless. Whether you are queer, gay, a lesbian, bi, pan, omni, trans, genderfluid, etc. or you just don’t know. you are still valid.

I hear you on the invisible societal pressure that there seems to be on labeling yourself. That along with your own pressure. Take a deep breath, sweet anon. And remind yourself that you are valid no matter where you are on your sexuality journey. You don’t need a label. If you want one or fit one, that’s great. But it’s not a mandatory thing. It’s whatever feels and suits you best.

Personally, my sexuality has been quiet the journey… I knew that I liked women at 13. But I didn’t always have certainty of one label by all means. I went through eras of trying labels and seeing which one fit me. Sometimes I was comfortable with being called gay or queer. Other times in my life, I preferred omnisapphic. Today, I’m comfortable with identifying as bi, with a strong preference to women. It’s okay to not always know, I sometimes don’t know. It’s all valid. ♥️♥️

It’s all good! ♥️ I’m proud of you for reaching out and asking this. You didn’t violate my rules and requirements by any means. Thank you for sharing, sweetness, I would be honored to give you my two sense on your questions.

Your first question— How does a person know what their sexuality is?

Sexuality is a spectrum, it’s a tool/an aid to help you identify your place or identity in society, specifically regarding your sexuality. There is no wrong or right way to identify (however there is abuse of the system, and I don’t recommend that). In a basic manner, your sexuality can be broken down into your romantic attractions versus your sexual attractions.

My first recommendation is think about it a good amount. Reflect on yourself and your identity. Get to know yourself better, your likes and dislikes. Do you romantically like one gender, type of person more than another? Is there a type of person who you know you don’t like sexually? Etc.

Next, I would recommend you educate yourself thoroughly. Learn about the spectrum of sexuality, all the different identities. That might help you better see where you fit. And remember, it is okay to not fit into one identity, or to change your identity at some point. Sexuality is fluid, we as human being change.

There is no one right answer. It’s in the eyes of the beholder. Take a deep breath, and explore yourself. You got this. ♥️♥️

Your next question— How did I know my sexuality?

I grew up in a strict religious area, so I started questioning my sexuality when I realized how my community deemed me sinful for who I liked. So I knew that I liked women both romantically and sexually pretty much since middle school. The trouble I have had since then has been with my like or dislike of men. I don’t like most men, so for a while I identified as a lesbian. I have never liked or been interested in a male romantically. But there are a few key men that I am at least slightly interested in sexually. So for a while I identified as bisexual. I had a stretch of identifying as Omnisapphic as well. Today, I usually just say I’m gay or queer. I know I like women, I don’t seem to like men romantically, but i like a key few men sexually.
