#omega Jason todd

i've been thinking about omega jason for a while now. specifically why he'd be an omega.

jason was TINY before his dip in the lazarus pit. his death certificate says 4'6" and 87 lbs (137 cm & 39,5 kg) which at 15yo is very, very fucking small.

and then after lazarus pit he's now 6' and 225 lbs (183 cm & 111 kg). so that's a big difference from what is hinted to be an adjustment of his stunted growth because of malnutrition in his early childhood.

but back to omegaverse, now i normally don't really like the whole omega = small, alpha = big, because that's fucking boring and very heteronormative. BUT let's say that because of that course correction the pit did on his build would indicate that jason was supposed to be an alpha.

so what if, in an omegaverse au, because of his malnutrition, because of how he grew up, his biology changed. knew he no longer would be able to grow into that big ass alpha that his genes promised and instead decided to develop the more latent omega genes and after he begins to find a place at the manor to feels safe, a place where his body feels like he would be able to present in, he goes into heat not long before he dies. maybe he only has that one presenting heat and not really finding his footing with his secondary gender before he dies.

and then he comes back, the superboy prime punch, and then the wandering on the streets before talia finds him, and it would make sense if he didn't have any heats in that period because of the heightened stress his body was going through so he's not producing a lot of scent pheromones and omega hormones.

when he comes to himself after the lazarus pit, and his body starts to adjust to his new growth spurt, focusing his energy on that and still not producing any of those obvious omega pheromones and hormones and talia never learnt his dynamic before he died. (maybe bruce didn't know, maybe he did and just didn't tell who knows)

and if we go with the whole body not going into season when it seems like it's not safe. his years training with all of those expert teachers of how to kill ect he wouldn't get a heat.

just jason thinking he lost his secondary gender when he died, and not finding it important because there's nothing indicating he'll ever go into heat again. maybe it was just a fluke that first time?

and he comes back to gotham, and he has his showdown with bruce and it goes to shit. but then it starts to settle and jason starts to find a footing and places he feels safe in, finds teams he can count on.

with that his body starts producing those hormones again, people around him starts to notice a change in his scent, but jason doesn't notice how they also change with that pheromone change from him.

until one day where he is at that one safehouse, that's more home than the others and bam he's in heat and he has only experienced that once before, it's been a lifetime and many years since he was holed up in his room in the manor and had alfred making sure he had food and water and a hotpack for the cramps and for a short moment he panics. wants to reach out and call alfred, ask for help, but isn't sure if he'd get it

idk i have a lot of feelings about omega jason. and i think there's so many interesting ways to explore omegaverse and the way it can function through omega jason.

(also because i love them, dick coming to see if jason can help with a case and instead discovers his little wing sweating profusely and curled up and he can't not help out. he's not ready for all of those heat pheromones, but he takes it in stride and decides to work through how jason is apparently an omega later and instead just makes sure that jason is hydrated and takes care of him until jason is lucid enough to be embarrassed and kicks him out)

he most definitely either doesn't understand how painfully attractive he is/how badly alphas drool after him or he's so aware that he uses it to his advantage. yes he can afford whatever he wants but also he's gonna have fun batting his pretty eyelashes at toxic alphas to get them to waste their money on him. he WILL drag them around for the girls who were done dirty by them. leading cocky alphas on is his game.

on the other hand is a jason who never realizes when someone is flirting with him because he has like zero familiarity with the concept of someone actually liking him (he died when he was 15 and awkward give him a break + his self esteem is like below zero). it's just a constant of jason being insanely clueless when alphas flirt with him and the bats not understanding how someone so smart and capable can be so oblivious. (bruce is secretly glad jason doesn't realize because he's rejecting all of these alphas and bruce's protective alpha father side doesn't have to get.. involved)

yes he has overprotective siblings and an overbearing father. yes he absolutely despises it and wishes he knew more omegas.

  Dear lord, he was leaking through the red shirt, two pretty little damp spots above his hard nipples. Man were thirsty, was your throat always this dry? His hands were gesticulating. He was really really upset but..  they bounced—the heavyweight of them jiggling with every flail of his arms. 

    “And now my fucking tits hurt.” He finishes, his green eyes looking at you expectantly. Whatever he was going on about you could somewhat surmise. Sue you for being distracted. Something-something Jason and the 'Batfam's' monthly tiff something-something huge blowout that most likely ended with Jason storming out saying ‘We're not pack’. Which brought a heavy-breasted Todd-Wayne to your door. You didn't think your dopey grin was appropriate at the moment but you were glad your omega came to you for comfort.

    Well, he wasn’t exactly your omega, not yet at least but apart from a roll of his eyes at your ogling; he’d been acting odd and all your instincts screamed at you to find out what was wrong and fix it. His thick arms crossed underneath his bust as he fixed you with another unimpressed stare. 

   “Sorry,” At least you had the decency to sound bashful. “Right, they're all assholes”

    “Thanks (Name) you always know what to say.” He drawled. 

   “Of course~” At your easy grin he begins to relax, stiff shoulders sinking back onto the loveseat. There's still a crease between his brows and you let him come to a decision. He'll either tell you what's up or he'll come up with an excuse and bolt. He's biting his lips and peeking at you red climbing up his cheeks. He sets his jaw and it looks like he’s gonna spill. “Do you want some milk” he rushes out. 

   If you'd had a drink you would've spat it out. What!? The damp spots have begun to drip, little rivers down to his abs. He crosses his arms over the shirt to hide them. His eyes are slitted again. “What do you mean?”

     “My stupid body is producing milk on overdrive, apparently it thinks I've been abandoned.” He huffs. 

     “I don't own a pump” he looks at you like you're stupid. You probably are, of course, you don't have one you're not an omega. You gulp, nervous excited! “Like from the nip”

   “You can say no” he breathes out quickly. 

   “No! I mean yes! Of course” your next swallow is also dry, you're absolutely parched. He's muttering to himself and you catch parts of his tirade. ‘You're so obvious (Name)’ 'Could at least pretend to not want it so bad' ‘It's kinda embarrassing.’ You risk a teasing remark now that you know he isn’t in any danger. Well, any danger except for maybe further embarrassment. “Mhmm yet here you are~”

     “I'll leave”  “No please don't! I want to help!”

    You don't waste a second and plop yourself onto his lap helping him wiggle out of the wet shirt. His blush pink nipples are swollen, white drops clinging to the perky tips. He gasps when your palms come up to cup his heavy pecs. You press your thumb into the muscles and watch as he drips, down the darker skin of his areola, down the curve of his breast, and down down down. 

    “Hurry up already it hurts.” His next glare is letting you know that, that definitely wasn't a whine. Jason doesn't whine. It totally was a whine. You don't need to be told twice and you lean down to run your tongue up the trail at the base of his left tit and up. He pulls you closer when you swirl your tongue to collect the sweet drops from around his areola. 

     And when your mouth closes over his nipple he lets out a noise but you're not concerned with that because- Oh..  this might be the best thing you've ever tasted. He's sweet on your tongue, warm, and the texture?? Heavenly. You’re not sure when your eyes close, but you're groaning into his chest not pausing your swallows until you've drank him dry. 

   The milk settles in your belly and you pull back. And the world is suddenly slow when you blink at his flushed face. You think he's speaking but you're too busy latching on to his other nipple, cheeks hollowing to slurp at him lazily. You're full but you're too greedy. He’s so delicious. You want all of it. You let him know. 

  “You're not sharing this with anyone else okay?” You slur “Want all of your milk and all of you Jay” 

“Thought you'd never ask” 

“Oh so ya like me or something?” You hum around his nipple. 

“Of course, I wouldn't be here letting you suck on my tits if I didn't!?” He sounds scandalized. 

“Oh.. good…” he tastes so good, You pause mid-slurp “I like you too.”

“J-just shut up and drink.” 

“Mm”

A/N: As I said in the poll, this is only 356 words of basic set up, there is more explanation about where this story would have gone under the break. I don't currently have plans to flesh this out into a full story, but I could be convinced to if people like this bit!

Jason was struggling to remember exactly how he’d ended up standing at the white, slightly peeling apartment door in front of him. The last thing he remembered clearly was picking up the phone to find Tim crying on the other end of the line. 

“Jay, it’s Dick. They-they didn’t make it time. Fuck, Jay, Dick’s dead.”

Tim started sobbing in earnest then, but Jason had just hung up. He still didn’t know if Tim had just called him as a courtesy (none of the other bats had even tried to reach out), or if he knew more about what was really going on between him and Dick than he let on. But either way, Tim’s words completely pulled the rug from under Jason’s feet. He had been so sure, even when they unmasked Nightwing, that it was all going to work out. After all, it was Dick, he always found a way out. Not necessarily always in one piece, but he always made it out. 

But apparently this time he hadn’t.

Jason’s heart barely had time to break before he grabbed his ready packed to go bag, shoved several of Dick’s hoodies and shirts inside, packed a few other little keepsakes he couldn’t bear to part with, and then took off running. 

Now he found himself staring at the peeling white paint on the apartment door trying to work up the courage to knock and ask for help. He took a deep breath and finally reached up and knocked. He fiddled with the strap of his bag as he listened to muffled mumbling get closer to the door before it was pulled open to reveal a dishevelled Roy.

“Do you have any idea what time it is?” Roy asked, exhaustion seeping into his tone, and Jason almost felt bad for waking him up. 

Jason stayed quiet, knowing the moment he tried to talk would be the moment the facade he put up in Gotham would crack and everything would come spilling out all at once. 

Roy seemed to see that anyway. “Oh, Jase. Come on.”  He stepped to the side and Jason walked into the apartment.

So yeah, the main change would have been the story taking place in the Spyral arc and all the angst that comes with that, including shit dad Bruce rather than protective mama bear Bruce. But the main plot points would have been:

Jason finds out he's pregnant during the time Dick is away fighting the crime syndicate and doesn't have a chance to tell him before he's captured, unmasked and strapped to the murder machine

Jason runs to Roy because he knows Roy will know what to do and guide him through everything

Which Roy does, and Jason moves in with Roy full time during the pregnancy, but keeps it from the rest of the family because he doesn't trust them

Tim, being Tim, eventually tracks Jason down and Jason lets him have limited access to his pup on the condition that Tim never tells anyone else

Tim is okay with this because he wants a relationship with both his remaining big brother and his niece/nephew

Something, something, something

Dick comes back from Spyral to half his family hating him, Bruce's indifference and Jason missing

He absolutely loses it trying to figure out where Jason is, but with Tim quite literally working against him, he doesn't have any luck

Tim lets Jason know Dick's not actually dead, but he's just as mad as Jason and agrees not to tell Dick anything about where Jason is

Jason's still living with Roy and they're basically best friends/roommates raising a pup together, so Jason doesn't think he needs Dick even without Dick's 'betrayal'

Something, something, something

Dick somehow finds out where Jason is and decides to just drop in unannounced

Only he comes face to face with a year old pup with Jason's curls, but Dick's mom's eyes

Jason grabs his pup and locks himself away in their room as Roy deals with Dick

Dick's honestly too shocked at the revelation that he's a dad now that it doesn't take much for Roy to throw him out

Dick's absolutely reeling from the revelation and hating himself even more for leaving, while Jason's losing it because he thinks that now Dick knows, Bruce will find out and they'll take his pup away from him

Roy immediately moves them to another city and gets Ollie and Dinah on board to help against Bruce if it comes to that

Something, something, something

Tim eventually finds the video of Bruce essentially beating Dick into submission to get him to agree to go to Spyral, as well as the recordings from Dick basically begging to come home

He sends them all straight to Jason because why wouldn't he

This brings another layer of problems for Jason, because on one hand, Dick clearly didn't choose to leave, but on the other, he stayed gone when he could have left before joining Spyral and he didn't try and tell anyone what Bruce did

Jason can't see himself ever getting back together with Dick, or letting him around their pup with the possibility of Dick defending or folding to Bruce's orders

Dick's finally beginning to realise this himself; that his codependent relationship with Bruce is toxic and it's going to kill one of them

So Dick leaves Gotham, and Bruce, behind for good

I didn't have the ending completely planned out, but you can imagine that they eventually make up and Dick proves that he's reliable enough to Jason to let him back into his and the pups lives. I've said it before, but I don't think I'll ever be capable of giving these two boys anything but a happy ending.

If you guys are going to write omega Jason who everyone thought was an alpha (true real and correct) then at the very least you alpha Jason truther weirdos HAVE to write the opposite where everyone was fully convinced Jason would present as an Omega, sorry he's too deeply tied to women and people who experience violence at the hands of people in power you need to make him act like it I don't care what's in his pants.

(Technically this is also a omegaverse au but let’s see how far I go with that. Jay is an omega and Dami is a soon to be alpha.)

Thinking about Omega Jason, as usual, as is the one thing I LOVE to write about. Something about his character being "girl coded" and claimed as "hysterical" seduced me (and many) to think he is Omega material altogether.

Anyhow, I think baby fever would hit Jason the hardest right before his heat, he wants babies always but it's then when he can't shove down the urge anymore.

He's horny of course, but it's deeply driven by his need to get pregnant and have babies right about NOW DAMNIT.

Some Alpha needs to approach this man and knock him up right now.
