i love oli’s videos so much. i don’t care how long it takes for them to come out, they’re always so high quality!!! and the editing is just my cup of tea, it’s absolutely amazing! not to mention i’m laughing my butt off 90% of the video, he’s friggen amazing and so is the episode

now for my more in-depth rambles!

• oli immediately went to Pix to get a handle on the dragon situation. they are best friends your honour

• “parenthood? in this economy? not in my christian empire!” so where on earth is jesus fitting into the empires lore and is he scott of rivendell /hj

• top tier parenting advice. yet again he went to pix, and pix defied all odds by giving horrible parenting advice. i adore the funky archaeologist. he appears responsible but if you talk with him for five minutes it is very obvious that’s not the case

• on a related note i’m going to make a list of how good each of the empires would be at parenting now. i’ve decided.

The day of the show!

They depart from Olipeligo after the show, they're back on the road towards Sanctuary.

Every empire is built to protect.

Sanctuary is the most obvious place for protection, they protect those out in the wild, those who don't have a place to call home, those who need to seek refuge. Sanctuary is built to protect.

The Ancient Capital is protecting history, preserving the pasts stories, saving lost stories from being long forgotten legends, reviving those lost to time. The Ancient Capital is built to protect.

Cogsmeade is protecting the unknown, those who don't know what is happening, those who are oblivious, those who never really understands everything. Cogsmeade is built to protect.

Dawn is protecting the light, protecting the people from the darkness which comes from night, defending against those who have gone dark, those who can't help but be evil under the moon. Dawn is built to protect.

Eversea is protecting the ocean, protecting the sea and its inhabitants- human, animal or in-between, those who have been taken by the tide, those who have been trapped in the sand. Eversea is built to protect.

Animalia is protecting the hidden, protecting those who have had to be hidden for the longest time, those who were seen as 'weird' or 'freaks', those who don't belong in society. Animalia is built to protect.

Gobland is protecting the underground, keeping it's structure, helping those who were lost in to the everwinding caves, protecting those who can't survive anywhere else, even mobs. Gobland was built to protect.

GlimmerGrove is protecting the people, protecting players and animals alike from the monsters of the world, using it's curses to protect others, protecting those who needs something secure but normal. GlimmerGrove was built to protect.

Stratos is protecting religion, those who have no one else to turn to but 'God', god's who have been lost to power, those who place their protection in a powered being. Stratos was built to protect.

The Evermore is protecting the lost, those who were caught in the fog, those who could never survive alone in the world, those who are cold, scared, alone. The Evermore is built to protect

Tumble town is protecting the cursed, those who have been shunned by society, casted out, because of what they were made to be, like a puppet on a string, those who can't live with others because of a curse. Tumble Town was built to protect.

Chromia is protecting the escaped, the people who aren't safe anywhere else, those who need a place to hideout and drop off grid, those who can't go to bigger places of hospitality, those who need one last chance. Chromia is built to protect.

The Olipeligo is protecting one person, and one person only; the thrown out, the one who done nothing wrong, the one who was thrown out of heaven and thrown in and out of every bad situation you can think of, death, rebirth, grief, imprisonment, deceit. The Olipeligo is built to protect.

*a white-haired enderian is walking around in the Olipelego, they are wearing semi-clunky netherite armor and their hair is short, as well as their face and whatever bits of skin you can see being heavily scarred. One of their eyes is pure white, and the other is purple*

*The Olipeligo is mostly quiet with nothing going on, however there are horrid earthquakes going on in various places all seeming to originate from the mountains if you were hypothetically looking for a certain bard you would find him in his main tent collecting things*

A Tourist's Guide to Empires S2

Some notes for exploring the world:

Most empires are fairly close to each other, where there are clear indicators for where to find the next one in the overworld with the exception of the Evermoore, the Forgotten Cove, and Sanctuary, which you should probably give up and just take the Nether. A couple of indicators to note are, one, Dawn can be found by following a very simple path that extends from Chromia; two, Tumbletown is almost directly south of the Ancient Capitol; and three, Glimmer Grove is found by following lanterns that extend from a port near Animalia.

The empires to avoid for those with less dependable devices are Animalia and Sanctuary, while the Evermoore made the world protest a bit but isn't as bad. I would still recommend taking The Lost Panda Trail to the (fence)gates of Animalia. Be sure to step on the wooden pressure plate and Run. Very musical experience.

The most foot-travel-friendly empire is arguably Cogsmeade, where the entire empire can be traversed without an elytra and allows all sights to be seen. (Most empires do also allow for foot-travel, though they are best viewed from the sky.) The least foot-travel-friendly empire is without a doubt Upper Stratos, where, even with an elytra, I nearly fell to my death multiple times attempting to traverse it.

The most difficult empires to navigate are Sanctuary and Gobland. The easiest is arguably The Olipeligo.

watched an e2 pix video (ep 17), must as always make a list:

i forgot that the way pix wins oli over when oli comes over and discovers pix has stolen his "megabase" is by calling his horrible little house an important piece of history. ("god, you know how to say all the right things to me. it IS an important piece of history." it's really funny to go back to the source material for a ship you think of as a funny little rarepair and remember NO THERE IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING HERE.)

oli, as an aside in the middle of loudly lamenting the tragedies and woes of his life: ask what i need. / pix: goodness me! a traveller, in need of aid! how-- how can i-- sorry, this roleplay thing is new to me as well. / oli: yeah you're doing great :]

pix: joel is your best bet for godly instruments since he's kind of an instrument of the gods himself… / oli: is he? is he a tool? / pix, without missing a beat: yeah, kind of.

they just. work so well together. oli calls pix "my captain my captain." pix is so fucking bizarre but it's a kind of bizarre that matches oli perfectly.

went and checked oli's finale again because in this video he promises pix he'll leave pix the dragon egg in his will and guess what. he SUPER DOESN'T. pix (as a ghost) is even THERE at his funeral (possibly weeping, unless that was a different voice). admittedly the egg is Hatched at this point so fair enough but c'mon. you heard pix. he loves child labour. could've still given him the egg. he was so respectful of the olipeligo.

pix brings up that katherine started a museum and didn't invite him and oli interrupts to go "save the drama for the real event, gamers" and pix is like "okay :] me and katherine have beef now" while katherine goes "noooo ToT we don't have beef!! we don't!!" the point i am making here is they're cute this is cute it's cute that pix is the server's Redstone Guy
