My dad (74, blood cancer, disabled as all hell), worried that I wasn't eating, checked in to make sure I wasn't starving myself or anything after starting my new job. I know it's because he's made insane sacrifices like living off popcorn for the sake of his kids, and he knows I'm enough like him that I'd try to keep such a thing to myself. But like, that was so sweet it almost made me cry, for someone who's never shown his emotions to reach out like that.
