kirbytober 2023 recap + low rez updates (get your popcorn)

Here's a (somewhat shoddy) graphic with thumbnails of all my Kirbytober artwork this year! It appears I even managed to overcome my coloring (and lining, and rendering) allergy once or twice. Incredible!

Not all of my Kirbytober artwork is museum-worthy, but hey, there's something for every day of the October calendar, which I consider to be a win! That being said, I felt pretty burnt out by the end of it. I'll (hopefully) be slowing things down for the rest of the year!

As for what is next, I'm going to try to prioritize stuff from my inbox. I should also mention that I haven't forgotten the comic I asked you folks about not too long ago. It'll be a good while before it's finished, but it's still on the back burner! I think it's a pretty fun one. when people express their pain but it's an "inconvenience " to you (or you're dismissive or angry at them for just saying something and not actually attacking them or doing anything wrong, just BEING), so they suppress their feelings, it will burst out later in a destructive way from simmering under pressure for so long

first day as a small-town sherif and you discover that some of the convicts you're transporting managed to escape in the night and since the penalty for letting prisoners escape is death, and the penalty for being late because you were looking for escaped prisoners is also death, you decide to free ALL of them and go hide out in the wilderness for a bit, except the convicts are super grateful so they make you their leader and it turns out they're decent guys who were exploited by a tyrannical government, so long story short you're crowd-sourcing for a peasant uprising and would anyone like to chip in?

OLLD drawing I can share now of Timmy after recovery and care from staying on double life and being looked after by the box boys~

He’s healthier, happier, his hair and wings have grown back out and have a pretty blue-black sheen to them (that he never knew he had bc in hels his diet and environment only let them be dull) and he just heard the sound of a portal opening for someone to come visit~!

#I’m still gonna draw scraggly Timmy most of the time bc this version is only after a LONG long road of peace and health on double life #BUT LOOK AT HIM!!!!#my fave bit is that he still gets to have his long hair like he likes but he’s confident enough #to push it out of his face with ren’s glasses when he wants #the glasses also let him flip them down and protect his eyes which he needed a LOT when starting out #the sun is so warm and pretty but his eyes have known mostly darkness of his cave in hels so he needs some light reduction here and there #anyways I’m so happy to share this I will always love and explore pathetic creature Timmy and DONT GET ME TWISTED—he’s still very pathetic #even when healthy but he’s learned and growed and gets to put meat on him bones #gets a bit more of that Jimmy broadness in his shoulders and stands up a bit straighter so ppl realize even more that he kinda tall!!!#ok enough yammering BAM HITS U WITH THE TIMMY SMILE RAY HAVE A GOOD DAY #hels to pay au #htp art #Timmy #htp spoilers
