The confirmation that Harry's squad abandoning him is just poor writing just so the player can continue doing shit on their own is the fact that it never gets explained. Harry even tries to bring it up but kim just. Shuts him up about about it is so so sooooo absurd. Jean's inaction could also harm him but he just makes harry drop the subject? C'mon folk it could have not been more obvious that the writers simply did not come up with that part 💀 I wish people would just take things as they are: de is not really a detailed novel. It's a fuckin game. With excellent writing, excellent characters and worldbuilding, but still a game

Yun Seo-yeon -— " ANIMAL CONTROL "

Every hunter has their origin story and most are steeped in the blood of a loved one-—and Seoyeon is no different. Born as the second eldest in what can only be described as a painfully average and healthy family, she had dreams of practicing animal medicine and had little worries save for juggling her studies and the social life typical of a young woman her age.

With the news of being accepted into a highly-regarded university, the family had decided on a celebratory trip abroad, well aware that once she began, there would be little time for much else.

One simple night was all it took to rapidly change the trajectory of her life. One wrong place, one wrong time and everything had come crashing to a halt, her old life and future ahead left as shattered pieces at her feet.

She couldn't tell you the creature the American hunter had been after, the creature whose life had been more important to take than her family's life had been to preserve. COLLATERAL, she'd come to know it as. The lives of her loved ones reduced to something as inconsequential as a meager word for this hunter to mumble later when recanting the situation.

She couldn't tell you a thing about the creature the hunter had been 'saving' mankind from, but she could tell you everything about HIM, about the monster slayer. His eyes, the curve of his nose, the way he had gripped the pistol he'd fired round after round from until both the creature and her family lay bleeding (SILVER bullets, she'd learned later). She could tell you the fleeting look he'd given her, how he'd fled (not like a brave hunter, but a COWARD). Most of all, she could recall the burning rage she'd felt in that moment. A clashing of grief and anger, hurt and unbridled fury.

Laid with the cooling bodies of her loved ones, so too laid her old life and the future she'd once strived for. The monster, the creature slain-—now shifted into a mere man, another corpse amongst the rest. Here now resided who she would come to be.

She researched, she learned, she delved into a world previously hidden to her. She came to know every creature that went bump in the night and, more importantly, she came to know just exactly the sorts that hunted them. Many had noble intentions and many held their codes and had their systems in place-—but some, far too many were reckless. Stricken with grief and rage like she and it had made them careless, made them selfish. They hunted without regard to anything else, blind to anything beyond their own violent goals, uncaring as to the corpses they left in their wake as long as the big bad monster was amongst them.

Dogs, she'd thought. Like hunting dogs gone rabid. No longer helpful, but feral and violent. They were like rabid dogs and someone needed to put them down. And so she did. In a world that held no checks and balances, she became them. In a world where these hunters played judge, jury, and executioner...so too did she become theirs.

She came to hold the reputation of ANIMAL CONTROL, a hushed and whispered and often spat moniker uttered like a cautionary tale to those who toed the line just a bit too closely. A reminder to hunters of the supernatural to keep their heads clear and their intentions pure and just and their hunts free of 'collateral' lest they have animal control on their trail.

Ok but Dead Fast: Night of the Living (2002) has no business being considered the worst Dead Fast movie when the MCU (Murder Cinematic Universe) not only retconned his origin story to make him a virus zombie rather than a curse zombie (which throws off his entire arc about being something more than his deeds!) AND made him be allied with B.L.I.G.H.T. of all organizations because Like say what you will about NOTL and the forced heterosexual romantic plot but at least 1) it gets what makes Dead Fast a hero and 2) GIVES HIS LOVE INTEREST A PERSONALITY AND SOMETHING TO DO

☆ Caelus

100% blushing but definitely infatuated. Caelus isn’t used to this type of affection but keep it coming.

He does get embarrassed if it’s in public. Will ask for you to refrain in front of strangers. Otherwise, small hugs and kisses the best in his opinion. Kinda ok around friends, just not too much.

Once he’s pretty used to it, which doesn’t take that long, he starts returning them. He does try his best to often try and catch you off guard because those are the most fun.

No, you can’t always tell. That’s the point!

☆ Welt Yang

Uhh he’s pretty sure he’s a little too old for that. But I mean, don’t stop.

Welt is a bit more reserved and so he’s not overly fond of PDA, but small things here and then aren’t too bad.

He actually likes returning it. Like, catching you off guard with a kiss and watching your eyes widen is so cute and exciting. Makes him feel all young again with that first love kinda feeling.

It does turn into a war behind closed doors. If you surprise him with a kiss, he’ll try to one up you like “no, I kissed you.”

☆ Bladie

He will 100% freeze up and just stand there for a second. Even after a while of this, he isn’t very used to it.

He likes it though. Like, sometimes he’ll expect it and just wait patiently. Then he gets sad if it doesn’t happen.

He tries to do the same, but he’s extremely awkward. Like, he’ll lean in and just get embarrassed. Then he’ll give you a quick kiss, turn away, and blush.

It’s extremely endearing and he’s definitely trying to be less awkward. It takes time- a long time- but any progress is better than none.

☆ Jing Yuan

Oh, so you’ve chosen war? Ok, well don’t forget this was started by you.

Jing Yuan is more than more than happy to fluster you with surprise make out sessions. You’ll be busy and bam! Make out session!

Don’t worry, he’ll never do that in public. He has class. But you let your guard down and well, that’s an opportunity. No, he's not sorry. In fact, he's all smug about it like "well, pay attention next time".

For someone who’s just a head, he gets around!

When you decided to help him out back in that weird room, Mr. Chopped was so elated.

Yes, yes!! Finally, some help!!

He’s been stuck in that room for like… three hours.

Which isn’t that bad, it definitely could’ve been worse, but like… still.

Anywho, point is —he decided from that moment forward that the two of you are friends!

Good friends, at that.

He tells Mr. Silvair this all the time.

“Mystery person help! They help me! They friendly!” He’ll grin from ear to ear, his cheeks squeezing into his eyes.

And Mr. Silvair will just chuckle and say something along the lines of, “Mystery person good? How interesting.”

Mr. Chopped has volunteered you to be one of his closest buddies.

Which means you are now basically his caretaker LMAO

Or at least whenever Mr. Silvair is unavailable somehow.

“Could you carry? Can you help me?”

This’ll become a common request from Mr. Chopped.

Eventually, it goes from asking to demanding.

“You take me! Go there! Yes, yes! That way! Is ok. This place I know good!”

He says that, but you’ve circled the same set of halls like… three times.

It can get a little weary sometimes being Mr. Chopped’s defacto caretaker, but he tries to keep your mood light with his silly banter.

Even though he’s been in the Apartments longer than you, it seems he hasn’t been there as long as others.

He more or less explains this to you over time.

On one of your many adventures through the halls of the apartment complex, the both of you came across a door that led into a stairwell.

It was odd because it kind of just… appeared.

You’ve definitely walked down this hall quite a few times now (no thanks to Mr. Chopped’s fluctuating sense of direction).

When you propose going through the stairwell, Mr. Chopped purses his lips tightly and falls silent for a long time.

Just as you get ready to ask again, he huffs, blowing some loose strands away from his face.

“That way want to go?” He asks. But before you can respond, he follows up with, “That ok. If there to go you want, that ok. But I not know that place…”

Ah…

Well! If nothing else, you can’t say Mr. Chopped isn’t adventurous!

Being friends with Mr. Chopped means you get to see all of his cute little expressions.

He always has an exaggerated reaction to everything!

Walking through the stairwell, for example, one of the lights flickered, and just as it went completely black for a second, there was a quiet whisper. When the lights came back on, the whisper bounced through the area, lifting up toward wherever the stairs led to…

When that happened, Mr. Chopped immediately asked, “What you say? I not hear good.”

“I didn’t say anything,” you said. Mr. Chopped seems confused by your response, and to the best of your ability, you repeat yourself in his language. 

“You say you not make sound?” He asks sharply, his voice thundering through the stairwell.

You jump in surprise, jostling him (much to his mild annoyance and discomfort).

“No, no make sound,” You said. “Do you make sound?”

“No! No make sound!” Mr. Chopped yells. Small tears gather in the corners of his eyes, and he squeezes them shut as a deep frown seeps into his face.

“Leave here together! Me scared! This place not safe!”

Safe to say you booked the both of you out of there as soon as you could.

It isn’t too long after that, though, that the two of you finally find yourself in the familiar hall leading to the basement. There, you two find Mr. Silvair just as he’s about to enter the room, and noticing your approaching figure at the top of the stairs, Mr. Silvair smiles warmly.

He lets you and Mr. Chopped in first, and it’s then that you both begin to tell Mr. Silvair about y’all’s odd experience.

Though, Mr. Chopped did more of the talking…

So much more of the talking, lol.

At some point, you and Mr. Silvair find yourselves sitting on the couch, and Mr. Chopped nestles into the space between you two.

He just continues to babble on and on and on about the somewhat scary adventure you both had, and you and Mr. Silvair patiently listen.

Sometimes, you wonder who can yap more —Mr. Chopped or Mr. Crawling?

That being said, Mr. Chopped likely develops feelings for you after just being in your presence for long enough.

He greatly appreciates you helping him maneuver through the Apartments, and he knows Mr. Silvair appreciates your help, too.

These days, Mr. Chopped finds himself talking with both Mr. Silvair and you!

And soon, there are many moments more when Mr. Chopped finds himself talking with you alone.

You’re just so fun to talk to, he feels like he can talk to you about anything!

First of all, I'm so sorry for the super late reply!!!!

And ooh!

Ok so, I don't know if you saw that one post I wrote about the possible end game for their story (if I find it i'll link it later) but basically since the master sword is stuck at the bottom of the Great Sea (thanks to wind) they don't have time to retrieve before ganondorf comes back (he comes back wrong since the cult used another body for his soul and they didn't have key's blood for the correct ritual ) and thus chain restraints ganondorf with his chains (at this point key&chain are separated/free) and they realize they can't kill him without the master sword, so Key seals chain+ganondorf while she goes on to look for the master sword, so chain (when she unseals him+ganondorf later) can kill ganondorf with the master sword as it should be

Which means that in a gameplay wise way, the lat section of the game you play as Key on her own vs the dual character gameplay key&chain had going on the entire story, forcing key to fend for herself (she kicks ass)

So like, when I first created them, I'm saying like before I posted them here on tumblr, my OG idea was to kill off chain lmao

Like they fight without the master sword (cause botton of the great sea), but they fail, resulting in chain dying lol basically making him another fallen hero

And Key using chain's uh chains to restraint ganondorf herself and seal him off

But like, then people really REALLY liked keychain and also really liked chain so I was like, OK FINE....YOU CAN LIVE lmao

So basically y'all saved him cause I wanted to kill his ass

OK can I just yap about a small misconception I’ve seen a lot of people make with Erica’s timeskip lore? Alright so pretty much everyone I’ve seen believes that after the events of S1, Erica goes on to join a bunch of teams again after The FailFleet Miis split apart, basically how things were for her before joining the 3DS Squad. Even the wiki says it right here:

I can definitely see how this mistake had started! But while it’s true she had to relive the experiences of traveling/tagging along with incompetent groups, all the death and fear and trauma… during this whole cutscene, Dan never confirmed she was a teammate of those groups.

“Erica decided to travel the world, hoping to use her newfound powers to keep wayward adventurers from their peril…”

Like, take a listen for yourself! The way he specifically worded how things were for her before snapping doesn’t really have a mention of joining a party/parties in between The FailFleet Miis and The Incident, just that she helped them! Dan already knew while writing her story that not only can people in the Travelers Hub tag along with other teams for specific ‘missions’, but also that there are already existing traveling mage characters in the world like Kazoo Man and Peppa!

I think something like that Great Sage role for her during this time was the route Dan was really going for, especially since it tied in a bit to her past arc of learning to have faith in others! This misconception about her timeskip lore’s been going on for years and I’m kinda surprised nobody’s talked about it (afaik)

LIKE DAN WORDING IT THE WAY HE DID HAS TO BE INTENTIONAL RIGHT?? I even looked at the simplified cutscene for the Main Channel Upload to double check if he said anything there and it still has NO MENTION of her specifically joining these groups she’s assisted!!

“Her name is Erica, and thanks to her unrivaled healing prowess many adventurers have been saved from an early grave…”

^ also this COULD be taken as more proof since he says adventurers like. it could be a mix of regular parties and individual people? idk maybe this is a stretch lmao

ok but it would be so funny if during a random stream i forgot about he was like “oh yeah she joined all those groups in between the 3DS and Switch playthroughs lol” and this whole yapfest ends up being pointless and i look super dumb :P

Hello new blog!! I'm going to start 🌸fresh 鲜 🌸

Ok. I have read this book in English before, and I know absolutely NO ONE in the history of ever has tried learning Chinese through this book. I already have some experience (up to HSK3 lmao 🐣) but I'm determined. Fight me I'm doing it. ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

How I decided on this was a few years back I wanted to read Husky and His White Cat Teacher 二哈和他的白毛师尊 but it was all fan translated. After a certain point, the fan translators wanted me to support the author, so I bought the original Chinese copy and sent them a picture as proof of support, then I got the document of the translation to continue reading. I sobbed so hard and felt so many more feelings than ever before, and despite the dark side of the book, it became my favorite instantly. Now I bought the official translated book and am excited to collect them all like Pokémon.

Idiom:

Hi! I'm still new to figuring out madd/id stuff, I didn't even know there was a name for it until recently but I've been doing it for years. I have a couple questions tho-

How many paracosms do people usually have? I have about a dozen that are still "active", with varying levels of development, but most of the madd blogs I've found seem to have just a few.

Is it normal/okay that a lot of my parames (I think that's the right word- paras that are like the "first-person character" but not just a daydream version of myself?) have partners, even though I'm dating someone irl? When I overthink it, I feel weird that I'm daydreaming about a relationship with someone other than my partner (who I love more than anyone or anything), even if it's just a character I made up. I still think of these para partners as "[parame's name]'s partner" and not "my partner," like I'm just roleplaying as an OC, but.. idk. What do you think?

hi hello! happy to have you here! :D i'm no expert except on my own experiences but i would first say as a blanket answer to your questions: anything goes! it is all okay! im a big believer personally in live and let live so however and whatever you daydream about is a-ok with me 👍 but i shall give some more responses below if you feel so inclined to read

there's not a set number really, to me it's just about... however much your brain feels like storing LMAO. or whatever you personally want to call a paracosm vs. a story vs. whatever other words. i would guess though that online, even if people have A Lot a lot, they probably only list a few in great detail because it's just easier or because some are more personal than others. (like personally, i have many paracosms that i just don't talk about much bc i am shy lol)

i think that's perfectly okay and normal! it's all fictional so it has no irl bearings. from what i know, even in the selfship community where people think of a fictional character as their partner specifically and also have an irl partner, they're all understanding and cool with it. which isn't your situation exactly, but it's where the anxiety is coming from i assume.
