ok i wanna make my own tips post for the redditors

hello welcome :] here's some things i've noticed it seems a lot of you aren't aware of. i might add more later:

first of all, PLEASE turn on custom theme! you don't have to actually make or find a theme yourself as it gives you a default one, (but it is really fun and good to personalize your blog however you want) but doing this makes it easier to view and search your own blog, as i will describe later. this makes it so that you will show up at yoururl.tumblr.com and not just tumblr.com/yoururl it gives you your own page! it's good!! you can only tick this setting on desktop:

another very important thing: DO NOT FUCKING REPOST ART WITHOUT CREDIT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. honestly you should not report art without permission at all, but at LEAST credit the artist. and saying "idk who did this but credit to them" DOES NOT COUNT. take some time to reverse google image search and find the artist. if you can't find them, DON'T REPOST!!! turning the art into a meme doesn't mean you don't have to credit the artist!!!!!! AAHHH!! ok.

TAGS/SEARCHING in reblogs, all tags serve to do is (a) leave a bit of quiet commentary, if you're too shy to leave it in the actual body of the post or (b) organize posts on Your Blog Only. tagging a reblog does not make the post show up in the searchable tag. reblogs are not searchable through the tumblr search bar.

to find posts from a certain tag on your own blog, go to yoururl.tumblr.com/tagged/tag. you can also add /chrono to the end of that url to view the posts in chronological order! you actually don't need to tag original posts with every variation of a tag either. for example if you tag something as "r/196", it will show up when just "196" is searched for, because it contains "196" in it. so you dont NEED to tag the post "196, r196, r/196" etc. but i mean. do whatever u want. honestly i think a lot of veteran tumblr users don't even know that. but yeah tagging with a ton of variations like that is unnecessary unless you're spelling something differently or doing an abbreviation as well as a full title, such as "#what we do in the shadows, #wwdits"

also, your posts are searchable by literally any word in the post, whether it be the body, the tags, or even your url. so if your url has 'catboy' in it, and someone searches 'catboy' they will see all of your original posts in the tag lmao. it is pretty stupid but that's how it works.

on that note, FILTERING with filtering tags, it is very specific. so if youre content warning tagging something, please just tag it with the word, like "#blood" because if you tag it "#cw blood" or "#blood ///" people who just have "#blood" blocked, will still see the post! lots of veteran tumblr users don't seem to grasp this either 😭

you can filter out words as well as tags, but that can get tricky because if you filter out "rape" words like "grape" and "drape" will also be blocked, so i only use the word filter to block peoples urls. because even if you have someone blocked, you can still see people reblogging their posts, so if u don't wanna see them at all, block their url as a filtered word.

you can do all of this in the regular ol' 'settings' tab on desktop. on mobile it's settings -> general settings -> filtering

PAGES something i love about tumblr but is getting used less and less is the ability to make separate pages on your blog. the option to do so is all the way at the bottom on the theme customization panel. (only available on desktop tumblr)

nowadays a lot of people just make a carrd and provide a link to that, but tumblr allows you to make your own separate blog pages! a lot of people use this to make "about me" pages, since it provides a lot more freedom than just the "blog description" section! you can put images on there, and just completely code the whole thing yourself! unfortunately, these pages aren't visible on mobile unless you link to them in your blog description (see my blog as an example) using <a href="link">link title</a> lots of people have links like this in their descriptions that lead to about pages or carrds! you should click on these to learn more about the person you're following!!

some people have "DNI (do not interact)" or "BYF (before you follow)" pages to set boundaries on who they do or don't want following them, as a warning of like "hey if you fall under this criteria and you follow/interact with me, you're getting blocked" so those are good to check for! some folks have lots of strong opinions on these that theyre "stupid" or "useless" but really it's just a warning and setting boundaries. like, if you follow me and ur not supposed to, i'm just gonna block you anyway, it was just a warning that that's what was gonna happen!

speaking of blocking, just fuckin' block whoever you want whenever you want. if you find someone annoying just block them. if they post something you don't like just block them. there's no need to get into an argument. just block! and they're gone! wheeee!!

SIDEBLOGS!!! you can have separate blogs from your main one that are connected to your same account! some people have tooooons of sideblogs for every single fandom they're in, some people just use their main for everything. it's up to you!

note that you can only like posts, send asks, follow people, and reply to posts under your main blog url. sideblogs are just for posting and reblogging in a more organized manner :] it's good to say in the description of your side blog what your main blog is so people know who you are when you like and reply to posts and such! (and also to list your sideblogs somewhere on ur main for the same reason. i use the aforementioned about page for this ^u^)

um that's it for now! there's a lot of other things i could talk about, but i'm sure other posts are covering it.. these are just ones i really want to iterate, especially the tags thing cause i think a lot of tumblr users don't even realize that lol ^u^ i've been active as fuck on tumblr since 2013 so I can answer questions if you have any :)

Normally I keep to basic tags or empty reblogs for this fandom, but I'm gonna open my mouth for this one. Sorry if you don't want this in an ask but I felt it was more appropriate to send it here than as a comment on your post.

I didn't even know what vore was until today (how tf did I dodge that coming from the spn fandom lmao). One more thing to filter out I guess. Anyways. I assume it's implied that the anon was asking about vore as a sexual kink, otherwise they'd have used other terminology. In this fandom, yes it apparently incriminates people that age up characters. That is a no-no here since the characters are canonically under 18. There's also an assumption in this fandom that minors are not the one creating and/or consuming this content.

"I'm confused, do teenage boys not get hardons?" Apparently in this fandom, no. They don't. Or they do but you can't acknowledge it. (Also, just want you to know that when I read this I legit lol'd. The problem at that age is usu preventing boners. Getting one is easy.)

For some reason, this fandom has deemed violence is more morally/ethically appropriate than even a hint of sexuality. They view that sexualizing characters under 18 in any way, including even kissing (idk if you were here for that), is unacceptable. That being said, that difference in moral/ethical correctness might be marginal. There's still some backlash against violence and dark themes.

It doesn't make sense to me since the show literally has scenes with sex and sex jokes with teenage characters as well as physical and sexual violence against children. Yet. If someone points out or analyzes these things, they will be bullied sometimes to the point of leaving (idk if you were here for hosegate or when people were being called out for analyzing the rape metaphors in s1 and s2). The environment here is such that it is impossible to have a good faith discussion about these topics... And if you can't discuss it bc it's so taboo then exploring these things in writing or art, even if it's just implied, is also taboo. And these are just for the topics already in the show.

Yes like you said it's purity culture. It is funny to me that in this case, cannibalism is OK but vore isn't. And it's also funny to me that a love scene would be less acceptable than cannibalism since sex is not OK (graphic or implied) but violence is OK (graphic or implied). And if fiction tastes reflect people irl (not my belief, but has been a repeated topic of fandom discourse) then the fandom is more OK with cannibalism irl than making love. It's wild.

I will never, ever, understand, the very American pov I might add, that approves of violence, lets their children watch violent films and play M rated violent video games, but then won't let those same kids go see the PG 13 or R rated movie because tHe ChAraCteRs HaVe sEx for fifteen seconds. And if it's a movie about a person experiencing sexual violence? Forget about it. That's the only kind of violence they won't let their kids see.

As I can’t escape Taylor Swift until the whole Short Film/RedTV thing dies out, I might as well talk about it lmao.

And my opinion on the whole thing is:

The talk about age gap and power imbalance are very important, and Jake Gyllenhall should be called out for at best a problematic choice in partner and at worse an abusive relationship with a naive 20 years old, but make the conversation about the real systemic issue. Which is not happening here. What we have instead is a glorification of Taylor as a girl boss who put the bad guy in his place, raising he fans to get their pitchforks and harass him while protecting herself by being silent over what her fans are doing, encouraged by the way she has always portrait herself, specially when it came to her “enemies”, having Jake Gyllenhall being labeled as not only an abusive partner, but also a sexual predator… all of this while Taylor herself engaged in the same behavior.

Or are we all going to forget she dated Harry Styles when she was 23 and he was 18 years old? Or Connor Kennedy when she was 22/23 while he was 17? That she waited until he was 18 so they could come out publicly with their relationship, and even signed him off school while he was underage?

I mean, if we are going to call out Machine Gun Kelly for being a creep over Kendall Jenner for openly saying the things he said about her when she was underage, y’all can’t turn a blind eye for Taylor Swift dating a minor.

Specially in the Connor Kennedy situation, I dare say the problematic of that relationship is AS BAD as the Jake/Taylor situation. The difference in mentality and maturity from a 17 years old teenager to a 22/23 old person is huge, these are two worlds apart. Add to that the fact that he was coming from a traumatizing situation where his mother had died, from suicide nonetheless.

Im sorry, but Taylor Swift took advantage of Connor Kennedy the same way Jake Gyllenhall took advantage of her and the power imbalance in both relationships are fucked up, and they both deserved to be called out for their actions. But we don’t see that, do we? Because Taylor Swift can do no wrong and if she does, her blind fans will close their eyes and pretend they didn’t see.

How tall do you think book Jaime and book Brienne are?

Ok so I had this question sitting on my inbox for a few days cause I went deep into researching how tall book Jaime and Book Brienne are.

First let’s go with Germ and what he said about baby girl Bri Bri:

“Brienne is well over six feet tall, but not close to seven, no. Just off the top of my head, I would say Brienne is taller than Renly and Jaime and significantly heavier than either, but nowhere near the size of Gregor Clegane, who is the true giant in the series. Shorter than Hodor and the Greatjon, maybe a bit shorter than the Hound, maybe roughly the same height as Robert.”

So according to Germ, these are the important bits: she’s well over six feet tall, but not close to seven and roughly the same height as Robert.

If she’s not close to 7 feet tall, then I would say she isn’t anywhere between 6’7 feet and 6’9 feet. She’s also “well over 6 feet tall”, so nowhere between 6’1 feet tall and 6’3 feet tall. We know Renly Baratheon is 6’2 feet, and Robert varies between 6’5 and 6’6 feet tall, the later one being more often mentioned as his true height. She is taller than Renly, and she’s “roughly the same height as Robert” so I think we can settle Brienne as being 6’5 feet tall.

So Brienne = 6’5 feet tall.

Now Jam Lann. He’s said to be as tall as Renly, and some places I’ve read is said he’s taller than Renly, but we know he’s smaller than Brienne. In the books, it’s said Brienne would look down at Renly, so Jaime can’t be much bigger than that. So I would place Jaime as being at maximum 6’3 feet tall, and no shorter than 6’2 feet tall.

So Jaime = 6’3 feet tall.

Okay. I could be completely reading way too much into this, but I have to talk about it.

With Chat Noir gradually getting more and more sidelined, it’s really not surprising to see him so isolated in the end card. In fact, it’s not the first time, as I recall people analyzing end cards from other episodes we’ve seen this season and making note of Chat Noir or Adrien looking isolated from everyone else in the image. So let’s take a closer look at Chat:

The rest of the end card is swathed in the familiar dreamy love colors, with bubbles and sparkles. But Chat Noir? He’s standing in gray-ish blue, with what I’m sure are clouds behind him. And when I first looked at this end card I thought that was a moon above him.

It’s not though, it’s just one of the bubbles. …But there’s only ONE. There is only ONE bubble on this side of the end card. In this gray-blue corner with clouds. The fact that the clouds are there means it’s a sky, not just some arbitrary void of gray-blue. And you couldn’t be sure that it’s a bubble if you didn’t have the rest of the image. Was it meant to look like there’s a moon there?

Sure, the immediate obvious analysis of the end card tells us that Chat is feeling increasingly isolated and that he is very much being left in the dark. He’s literally in a corner (with a darkened sky) of an otherwise sweet and dreamy looking image, looking very much upset and facing away from everyone else.

But the angle of his gaze is pointing upward… at that single bubble that looks like a moon in a gray-blue sky…

Again, I could totally be reading way too much into this image. Being a Kingdom Hearts fan leaves you over analyzing everything. But if it’s intentional… Then those Chat Blanc 2.0 theories are starting to look more and more possible.

A few quick first thoughts about Crocoduel!

- Luka and Juleka being twins is officially CANON now. THANKS FOR THE CONFIRMATION. So yes, Jagged Stone is Juleka’s father as well. And this episode touched on their relationship too.

- Props to whoever theorized that Chat Noir would not be upset over another “cat” member on the team! On the contrary, he seemed super excited about Purple Tigress! That bit was adorable! :3

- So if multiple people are akumatized at once, they all get a Shadowmoth repellent magical charm each!

- The episode ended with Marinette and Luka saying they were friends. Literally “amigos���. Finally they had a post-breakup chat!

- Juleka/Purple Tigress’ transformation sequence was *chef kiss*. And OMG her bracelet before she transforms is black (and gorgeous I might add). A goth queen through and through.

- LMAO AT SHADOWMOTH STRUGGLING TO AKUMATIZE SOMEONE FOR LIKE 5-10 WHOLE MINUTES. SUFFER!!

- Not a suuuper significant episode plot-wise, but still very much enjoyable, especially if you’re a fan of Luka and Juleka.

- OH. OH. And how can I forget, Rose taking Juleka’s face in her hands to press a little kiss on it. :’3 These adorable girlfriends…

- Oh, and one last thing: Nearly 19k people watching ahshjdkhahdjddj, hot damn.

Has there EVER been an episode with a scene AFTER the end card? Not as far as I remember??? That’s why it’s the end card.

So we didn’t get the reveal, and I knew it was totally going to be a fake out, this show loves doing that. X3 But I still got Sailor Moon reveal vibes and I love that, eeeeeeee. However, Shadowmoth got really close to finding out Ladybug’s identity, if she hadn’t noticed Sentimonster!Nino and had taken the turtle miraculous home… And that scene after the end card… What were he and Nathalie talking about????? Definitely something about Alya because Gabriel said her name.

No but seriously, I’m am SO sure we’ve never had a scene after the end card. So this must be big. Shghdjdjhsdh I can’t wait to rewatch it with English subs. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Edit: Someone reminded me that there IS one other episode with a post-end card scene, and that was the season 3 finale Miracle Queen, in which Gabriel holds up the Peacock miraculous after fixing it, which left us on a cliffhanger and set up season 4.

That only makes me feel like the post-end card scene in Optigami is setting up for a significant shift for the second half of season 4 and I’m both excited and scared.

technoblade escapes prison stream and it ends with him going home and ignoring dream (who followed him) an immediately going to check on the animals and they get happy to see him, like jumping on him, whining and all the usual pet missing owner activities while dream just watches awkwardly and is trying to find a good time to ask techno for a place to stay when technoblade just gets tackled by Steve The Emotional Support Polar Bear cause he can tell that technoblade is very stressed.

Technoblade is a very good sport in the competitions he has been in. In Minecraft Mondays, even with everyone hating on him for being good at the pvp heavy games and working with teammates who didn't cooperate, he still did his best and worked well with his team mates.

The duel against dream, we also see this in his dual analysis video by how he complements dream and pokes fun at his own moments of distraction.

And finally, in MCC, Technoblade is shown to boost moral and helping his team members from tips during the event and by providing training videos and helping them train (niki training vod my beloved).

I just think technoblade is so important to these events cause he helped to balance out some of the negativity that can arise when other ccs become frustrated and in turn their audiences might also lash out on twitter. So it's no wonder so many ccs and people who enjoy mcc miss Technoblade so much

ok just to get it off my chest. But if you are in fandom and you say that you want to be more involved but you can't draw or animate or cosplay or write. You have two options left. Either learn and start out doing something. Or shut up and start interacting more with people who do.

That sounds aggressive. But as an Elder in fandom (I'm only 23 but I've been in fandom spaces since I was 13). People who make things only do because of the community that hypes them up and helps them form ideas. So when I say interact I mean

Start reblogging and retweeting things you like. You dont even have to say anything just do that. That's a great way to show you liked something, cause now your showing your followers!!! Its how you start forming mutuals!! Retweet or reblog something from a smaller blog and they likely will fall in love and follow!

Next step is to start leaving comments. I mean this either in the reply features on either site or by reblogging with some insight or even just by leaving something in the tags. If it's on AO3 just leave a comment saying you enjoyed it! Show some love!

Congrats!! you've made so many peoples days!!!! Now they'll be more motivated to share more works! maybe a reply you left inspired them to start an AU!!maybe others see that you are also a cool human person who deserved to be followed and interacted with! Now you have mutuals and people you could start a discord with!! Maybe now you have new friends!!!!!

Even if it's just the first level of interaction, it can mean so much for creators especially in fandom. Just consider it alright?

“Well, it really all started with my momma.” You felt yourself begin to fidget and made an effort to stand completely still. “She got a job working for a wealthy Russian widow, Mrs Zamolodchikova.”

Mr Morgan let out a low whistle. “Now that’s a name.”

You couldn’t help but smile. “A lot of Russian names are like that. As I was saying, she hired my momma to be a maid when I was still very young. Mrs Zamolodchikova treated us very well, we even lived in a little cottage she had on her land.”

Despite all the years that had passed, you still thought of that cottage fondly. It had been small and not impressive by any means, but it had been your home for most of your childhood. You had a lot of good memories of it.

“I...I lost my momma when I was seven.” Even now, twelve years later, it hurt to say. Your mother had been your whole world, everything began and ended with her, and it had never once occurred to you when you were a child, that you would one day have to face the world without her. She loved you too much to do that to you. And then it happened anyway.

You had never experienced a heart break like it before, or since.

“I’m very sorry to hear that.” Mr Matthews said gently.

“It’s alright.” You assured him, trying to speak around the lump that always formed in your throat whenever you thought about losing your mother. “She had been ill for as long as I could remember, it was only a matter of time.”

“I imagine your aunt and uncle took you in?”

“They wanted to, but Mrs Zamolodchikova stepped in. She said that she saw it as her Christian duty to take me in as a ward, and that’s what I became.” It had stunned you at the time to learn that Mrs Zamolodchikova cared for you that much. You would always be grateful for her kindness, it had changed your life. “She had no children of her own, so I think she wanted me to fill that gap.”

“That was very kind of her.” Mr Matthews sounded surprised, and you supposed that it made sense. You couldn’t imagine that he had come across many people willing to take in the child of an employee, particularly among the rich. You certainly had never seen such a thing in your time among them.

You nodded in agreement. “She taught me etiquette and how to behave in upper class circles, and as I got older I became her companion. That was how I met Mr Cornwall.”

A spark appeared in Mr Van Der Linde’s eyes, and you knew that you really had his full interest now. “How did that come about?”

“He was looking for investors in his business, he was just starting out you see, and he needed some capital.”

“So he went to Mrs Zamolodchikova?” Mr Van Der Linde asked. “She must’ve been rather rich.”

“Exceedingly so.” You said. “Her family is very old Russian money, and when she came to America with her husband, her wealth only grew, even after he died. I imagine Mr Cornwall thought that if he could convince her to invest, he would have an easy time of building his empire.”

“Did he?” Mr Van Der Linde’s eyes sparkled with a kind of devious curiosity, the kind most often found in children. “Convince her to invest that is.”

“I’m afraid not. Mrs Zamolodchikova found him rather...disagreeable.” A part of you still cringed on the inside just thinking about that meeting. It had started off well, and Mr Cornwall had certainly been polite enough, but once his true character came out, it all started to go downhill rather rapidly.

“In what way?”

You hesitated slightly. “Well, I mean, one doesn’t wish to disparage others when they don’t have the opportunity to defend themselves.”

A chuckle came from Mr Van Der Linde, and you even saw a corner of Mr Morgan’s mouth twitch.

“We just want your honest opinion, that’s all.” Mr Matthews assured you. “No need to be disparaging.”

You paused, trying to think of the right way to phrase it. “Mr Cornwall...well, Mrs Zamolodchikova and I found him to be rather...brusque and arrogant. When Mrs Zamolodchikova turned down his request, he got rather upset and he seemed to take it as a personal affront.”

“She must’ve grown to regret that.” Mr Van Der Linde mused.

“Not at all. Mrs Zamolodchikova was happy for him of course, but she was also happy she rejected him. She said she couldn’t imagine being in business with someone so...tasteless.”

“Tasteless in what way?” Mr Matthews asked.

“Well he was...very new money.” When you saw the looks of confusion on the mens’ faces, you tried to think of a better way to phrase it. “He was something of a show off, and a little gaudy. He wore a lot of gold, I imagine to try and impress, but it came off as vain and rather insecure. Mrs Zamolodchikova was very critical of that kind of thing, and when she saw how self aggrandizing he became after his success, she grew to dislike him even more.”

Mr Van Der Linde nodded slowly, and you could almost see the wheels turning in his head. “It sounds like you’ve lead a rather interesting life.”

“I suppose you could say that.” Your eyes roamed over the two older men again. “I imagine that wasn’t the kind of information you wanted, my apologies Mr Van Der Linde.”

Despite your fears, the black haired man smiled and waved a hand. “It’s fine Miss [Last name]. I was just curious, that’s all. Javier, why don’t you walk her back to where she’s staying?”

“Sure thing boss.”

You turned to leave with Mr Escuella, but you hesitated just as he put a hand on the door knob. “Wait.” All eyes were back on you, and you felt yourself flush, but you felt that you needed to get this out. “I just-I just wanted to add that Mr Cornwall is a very powerful man, and in my opinion, and in the opinion of mutual acquaintances that he and I share, he is lead more by pride and ego than wisdom. He doesn’t take insults lightly and can be rather harsh.” You were very careful and deliberate with your words, not wanting to seem like you knew better, but still wanting to convey your feelings of apprehension.

Mr Van Der Linde raised an eyebrow, and you got the feeling that he understood what you were trying to say. “Duly noted Miss.”

You nodded, and turned back to Mr Escuella, this time actually following him outside.

“You must’ve lived a pretty good life for a while.”

You shrugged and felt yourself blush heavily. “I suppose.” It always somewhat embarrassed you, knowing how different your life had been from other people, especially those who were born into the same class as yourself. “I honestly just think I got lucky.” You looked down at your feet. “Don’t feel so lucky now though.”

A heavy silence hung between you two, and you had to bite the inside of your cheeks to stop yourself from crying.

“Sorry.” You said softly. “I’m sure you don’t want to hear about my woes.”

“It’s ok.” Mr Escuella assured you, his voice kind again. “Considering everything you’ve been through, I’d say you have a right to let your feelings out.”

You looked at Mr Escuella in surprise. You hadn’t really thought about it like that. “You’re very kind.” You said sincerely. “Sadie might not think so but I certainly do.”

That brought a bright smile to Mr Escuella’s face, which made you smile in turn. You always enjoyed making people smile, it made you feel good, and you felt that it proved that you were useful and worth something for once.

“You’re a sweet kid.” Mr Escuella’s eyes were shining, although you couldn’t hazard a guess as to why. “Don’t let anyone beat that out of you, ok?”

“I-Ok.” You weren’t sure how else you should respond, being so unused to compliments from strangers. You watched as he held the door to the house with the other women open. “Are you not coming in?”

“Nah.” He smiled. “You stay warm ok?”

“Of course, and you as well Mr Escuella.” You went inside, and no sooner was the door closed that you were practically swarmed by Miss Jones, Miss Gaskill, and Miss Jackson.

“What did they want?”

“You weren’t gone for very long, did everything go alright?”

“Are you allowed to say?”

You felt yourself flush as you tried to keep track of who was asking which question. “It was nothing special.” You said. “They just wanted to know how I knew Mr Cornwall.”

Of course they all also wanted to know, and so you told them what you had told Mr Van Der Linde, Mr Matthews, Mr Morgan, and Mr Escuella-omitting your warning at the end.

Much like the men, they were stunned to hear your story.

“So you grew up pretty well to do.” Miss Jones said, in a tone that sounded impressed and envious.

“I-Well, yes, I suppose.” The embarrassment from earlier had returned. “I was extremely privileged.”

“What was it like?” Miss Gaskill asked, sounding wistful. “Being in that world?”

You paused, trying to think of a good way to describe it.

“When I was a little girl, it was dazzling.” You confessed. “All those men and women in their finery...it looked like an entirely different world. Like a fairy tale.”

“Oh yeah?” Miss Jackson raised a brow. “Meet any prince charmings?”

You laughed. “I met some well to do gentlemen if that’s what you mean.”

“I think she means suitors.” Miss Gaskill said with a giggle, and an eager look on her face. “Well, did you?”

“Oh!” A scorching heat unlike any of the others from before overcame you, and you felt your throat dry up. “I-Well-no.” You stammered, looking askance out of embarrassment.

“Really?”

You looked up and saw Miss Roberts looking at you with surprise. “You mean none of them tried to…” She trailed off, leaving you to fill in the blank.

“Not at all.” You said, your flush worsening. “After all, I was just a maid’s daughter.”

And therein lies the rub.

No matter how much you learned or how you dressed or how you behaved, everyone knew that you were just the daughter of a maid who Mrs Zamolodchikova had taken pity on. Most of them had been polite enough, but that boundary had always been there, and always would be. You had grown accustomed to it, the way one would grow accustomed to a permanent limp. And it left you with what you imagined would be the same level of alienation. It was one of the many unfortunate side effects of being born as yourself, and one you had learned how to deal and navigate the world with.

But it would always be a fairy tale to you. Beautiful, grand, never within your reach no matter how well you knew it. And you would always be that little girl that chased after it with every breath in her chest.

Story you were nervous to post: i was definitely really nervous before posting hooked on all these feelings, because it was the first time i’d written a story for someone who i didn’t know, and which was intended as a gift and not just a fun proms-fill for yuletide. 

How do you choose your titles? song lyrics, mostly -- which can be a real bitch sometimes! it took me far too long to come up with the title for ever just the same and honestly the further i get with the story the worse i like the title, but it’s too late to change it now lmao

Do you outline? not for one-shots, but for my multi-chaps i tend to go chapter-by-chapter, narrowing the focus as i get closer to the end -- for example, even though it's a few chapters away i know exactly how the finale battle of ever just the same is going to happen, although im still not solid on how the story itself is going to end

Complete: my only wip at the moment is ever just the same, and everything else is either a one-shot or complete! (rip to the one abandoned fic, the 1991/2017 crossover. you had great potential, but i could not realise it. rip)

Connor, Amaya, and Greg are nighttime superheroes that stop their towns three local villains: Cynthia, Nick, and Romeo. Technically, Cynthia isn't even a villain anymore, and has joined the trio to help take down her (albeit adopted) brother Romeo (who wants to take over the world) and Nick (who. wants to prove he's the best at everything).

Tbh, none of the villains are actually "villains" anymore. As stated above, Cynthia is basically in Greg's friend group. Nick has a lot of younger siblings that depend on him, so villainy isn't on his mind a whole lot anymore. And Romeo honestly just wants attention.

Do you have anything against Ace people being in the LGBT community? I’ve noticed that sometimes you tag or add things to a post that might be anti, and I wanted to check.

Ok. This is a very loaded topic and I try to avoid discourse, but I guess it’s time to put my thoughts out there.

First off, at least until proven otherwise lmao, I am both aromantic and asexual. So my view of it is influenced entirely by my own personal perceptions of how I feel about it in relation with myself, and I don’t necessarily hold my views as applicable to other aro or ace people. 

I personally am uncomfortable including myself in the LGBT community having never experienced homophobia. I have experienced a lot of things that go along with not being straight, like comphet and pressure to conform to a straight relationship, but no one has ever been or will ever be homophobic to me until I feel same-gender attraction. So for me personally, I don’t consider being ace or aro as being LGBT unless there is also same-gender attraction. 

HOWEVER: my experiences are not universal, and so I don’t fault any aro or ace people as counting themselves as LGBT really, or think they should be excluded necessarily. I come down pretty middle of the line, and think people should choose it on a personal level. I do sometimes reblog somewhat exclusionist posts, because that’s what I feel for myself, but I also don’t fault aces who feel like they are part of the LGBT community. So I’m an exclusionist to myself, but less so to other people, because sexuality is a very personal thing and I don’t care enough to go around policing other people’s even if they don’t match up to how I see things. I have other aroace friends who feel very strongly about being LGBT, and even if I don’t see it that way personally, I’m not going to tell them what their own sexuality is or isn’t based on how I see my own. 

What would be best for me personally would be a closely related but somewhat separate Ace community that overlaps largely with the LGBT community—because we have similar problems and because many LGBT people are ace as well—but isn’t necessarily a one-to-one thing. We have so many in things we could be talking about together, about how our experiences are similar or different form each other, without fighting over who belongs or not. But I can also see how some aces would feel like they were being excluded from a space meant for them if they were part of a separate ace community instead of LGBT. As I said, this is what would be best for me, as someone who has some things in common with LGBT people but doesn’t consider myself one because of the lack of homophobia. 

Really, what it comes down to in the end is: I hate ace discourse on both sides. Everyone just fights and both sides are filled with bad takes as often as good ones, and everyone is bad at telling when someone is trolling to demonize the other side, and I don’t often bring up that I’m ace because I don’t like the associations it has with the discourse. Everyone should stop fighting and chill out, cause it’s just exhausting. Plus, maybe this is coming from a place of privilege, but how often does this come up in the real world? Get offline, folks. 

So yeah, I’m a middle of the line but leaning exclusionist, but I try not to enforce my own ideas onto other people’s personal experiences cause not everything has to be public discourse, fellas.

EGO MAYHEM THEORIES: II

OK FUCKERS LET’S FIRST COVER SOME STUFF:

Jack posted a photo to his instagram with red lights shining on his face as he wore chases shirt and marvin's mask was spotted in the back

he livestreamed some fortnight and @lisasepticsuperplier spotted marvin’s mask hanging on the whiteboard. @maggiemaemoo also noticed and pointed out when he went on a “pee break” the mask went missing. this same mask was on the whiteboard in his new “am i colorblind” video.

it’s important to note that the red lights were in every video between chapter one and the colorblind video.

he wore a black shirt in every video up until today (5/9) where he switched it out for chases shirt in “try to fall asleep” and a fairly normal tee in “am i colorblind”

i don't think “am i colorblind” is important to our theories at all, i actually think for once we got a normal video? besides the mask, nothing off happens the whole video and there’s no red lights. did jack go back to sleep?

CHAPTER 4: “IT WAS ALL CONNECTED”

"you see a man in front of you. this man looks strange, not like any man you have seen before. suddenly, you realize you were looking in a mirror..."

by this point we know all of the intros are connected/parallel events having to do with jack/the egos. this intro doesn’t end with “stories untold.” it’s likely the case because in game, we learn what the characters “untold” story is- and we start to uncover jacks. 

all of his egos have a similar likeness to jack, so he could be referring to coming face to face with any of them. i think, however, this is more of a “i don’t recognize myself” statement. jack has lost his memories, he hasn’t been himself and his subconscious knows. that’s why he doesn’t recognize the man in the mirror, why it looks strange to him. mirrors have been a common theme over time regarding anti/broken!jack, and mirrors were also involved in the second video this day.

i really think jack did a good job choosing stories untold to be The Game(tm) where all this shit goes down. there’s a lot of very obvious connections you can make with jack/the ego’s stories and this game, and i enjoy it a lot. i took some notes while watching the video, it would take to long to expand on them individually so i'll just share this screenshot. it’s a lil messy:

i still have NO SOLID IDEA what he could’ve been referring to. does he remember everything or just some things? does he blame schneep or anti? does he remember who everyone is again? SO MANY QUESTIONS! gif credit

@fear-is-nameless pointed out he looks directly at the camera, not through it. almost as if he's talking to someone. i think he’s either talking to us, or talking to schneep/chase considering (i think) they were the ones trying to get him to wake up to begin with. 

@no-strings-puppet pulled together the whispers that you can listen to slowed here, slowed and reversed here.

@damienisverygood made a transcript of the whispers, i have a hard time hearing it so i cant rly confirm for 100% that this is accurate, but definitely worth noting.

@monochromemedic had a really interesting theory about schneeps involvement in it all, it’s definitely worth taking a peek at.

@booperdoopcr has a theory that really got me thinking as well.

i really do think someone has been “pulling the strings,” choosing what jack can remember and locking away whatever memories either a, hurt him or b, doesn’t serve their agenda. it’s hard to tell if it’s anti who’s in control of what jack knows or if it’s our doctor. 

i don’t think schneep is evil or malevolent. if he’s keeping jack from remembering it’s for jacks health or the well-being of the other egos/himself. it’s an outdated theory that anti thrives off of attention (i can’t remember but i think jack said that wasn’t quite the case) so it would make sense for henrick to lock away memories that involved anti, it would also explain why jack doesn’t remember him (considering he was corrupted last time we saw him). the thing that doesn’t quite add up with this theory is why schneep was so frazzled to see jack playing his role, when he knew jack didn’t remember him or really know what he was doing. schneep looked scared when confronting jack, he knew something was wrong. overnightwatch happened after schneep left for “vacation,” yet jack seems to forget about that too. i don’t dismiss this theory completely, it just leaves a lot of questions.

anti, however, would benefit from jack having amnesia about him. if he doesn’t know who anti is and doesn’t know there’s something fishy going on, he can’t stop it. it would make sense for anti to make jack forget schneep, considering he tried to save him. it also could’ve just been a casualty of trying to get jack to forget everything regarding the glitch demon himself. it would also make sense for schneep to be frazzled in this case when confronting jack, because he likely didn’t know who he was talking to. he recognized jack, but he didn’t know jack. if that makes any sense.

i stand strongly by my theory that memory-lacking jack is just a puppet of antis, being controlled by him without really knowing. schneep has experience with anti, he was likely afraid of the unknown possibilities that stirred around confronting an unstable, unknowing puppet!jack. i honestly believe schneep came back to try to save jack. after he confronted puppet!jack, i think he started some sort of therapy to get him to remember, and had chases help. (like a parallel to the dr. alex/mom and james in the game ya feel?)

@chronically-illustrated pointed out that all of the endings could be a bit of interpretation of what happened to jack over the years. James Ation had a hard time interpreting reality so the truth manifested in complicated and symbolic ways. the outros could’ve symbolized jack’s memories coming back to him/events that have been actively happening. 

we see jack “wake up” periodically (i think the jack that remembers is conscious, just locked away, being tortured and watching everything unfold) , leaving hints and cries for help littered here and there. they almost ALWAYS get removed though, seemingly by anti trying to get things back under control. the tags on the DDLC playthroughs that got deleted (canyouhearme, i remember what happened), the entire overnightwatch stream getting deleted (seemingly from memory as well), the random tags showing up on posts only to get deleted later (the sos in morse code). anti doesn’t want jack catching on, he deletes all signs of him he can and all of jacks cries for help while simultaneously taunting us and fucking with us (like overnightwatch as whole). thanks to @fear-is-nameless for reminding me about the tags on DDLC.

this video just seemed very off. i don’t have a lot to say about it, but i’ll let my notes sum it up:

i don’t really know what to make of it, other than it’s suspicious as all hell. the red light was in this video as well. 

he mentioned magic 6 times, made a blood/knife/threatening comment about 5 times, and got injured/burned twice. 

that mirror speech was all fine until he said “you got this- we got this.”  i just don't trust like that.

if anything, i think this just helps solidify the idea that memory vacant jack is just a puppet of antis. it might also reveal that anti’s whole plan is to become one with jack and be the foreman (host).

“papa” sounds a lot like anti in the closing scene lmao. i don’t think there’s much to read into, its just something funny. if he is a puppet i wonder if he sees anti as dad?

TRY TO FALL ASLEEP

i hate this man. i absolutely despise him. im kidding i love him and his creativity and torture knows no bounds. this mother fuck really did this to us.

before even watching the video, i knew we were NOT in the clear, after jack seemingly “waking up” yesterday and then this video? i love hate him. 

here are my general notes on the video. i added lines to make it easier to read cos this was a Lot:

i take the notes during my first watch through so i'm sorry for the meaningless comments/reactions throughout. 

let’s break this down a lil bit. the video starts off weird. there’s no normal intro, and the red lights are there- just dim (this was brought to my attention from this post by @markired), “jack” fades in through static. 

@lizziebirb made this gif where you can see marvins mask show through the static:

then that creepy grin is back as he introduces the game. he stares directly at us as he makes his “speech” about going to sleep. when he makes the comment “when you drift off, that’s when the fun begins,” i half expected to hear anti’s laugh. bone-chilling to say the least.

the character in the game is someone who just went through an accident of some kind, and memory loss is mentioned (another parallel?). jack glosses over that, and instead focuses on brain damage. now hear me out; what if jack doesn’t want to remember? what if he wants to stay asleep because he’s afraid? i feel like due to the theme of the last game egos aside, he normally would’ve pointed it out or made a connection? i could be wrong, im just thinking out loud.

he also, out of place, brought up “why are all these people in my house” which reminded me a lot of a post he reblogged a few days ago.

he says “i don't know if i need a mask” (referring to gas masks in game) but that line stuck out to me, due to the fact two egos have masks and one of them even popped up in this video. the other ego (jbm) we haven't heard almost anything from since this all started. 

i found a lot in the TV snow. we see marvin, JJ, and a hidden message. ill link the post with all the pictures here, but i would like to highlight a few screenshots in specific.

in this one, jack’s webcam seems to glitch out when marvin pops up. i don't know if that was something that messed up in the rendering of the video, but it honestly reminds me a lot like the glitches that popped up during the antipocalypse days. with the way the color fades and there seems to be hints of color over his face. i wonder if there’s a second image there we just can’t see?

and then there was this:

i traced over the words, but that’s all i saw. i’ve seen people claim it says “you need to wake up” but i just... don’t see that. it would make sense, but i never see the end of this sentence and i very clearly see an “A” in the 3rd word, so it doesn’t say “need”. it could say “you have to flee,” considering that is the next word we see after this. if that’s the case, who is he fleeing from and why? 

it could ALSO be someone telling jack he HAS to wake up. like they’re telling him he doesn’t have a choice, he can't just keep acting like things didn’t happen and put off confronting his memories/his egos. after waking up yesterday, and then this video today, i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s deliberately trying to fall back asleep.

we also see JJ. but why? this is the only time i see him, and as far as i know jack doesn’t even reference him in this video, unlike how he referenced marvin with the abundance of magic-related comments. what’s the significance of JJ being in this video/making an appearance?

he also makes a face worth mentioning after reading the phrase “loose lips spit sekrits.” (i’m p sure it’s spelt that way because in dreams it’s common for things to be a little off, especially words. it wasn’t a typo by the developers, it was deliberate). this face goes entirely full screen and only lasts for about a second. it could be for comedic effect because he thought it was a typo, but it could also be a certain someone throwing some shade, yanno? someone's been slipping us hints, “spitting sekrits,” and another someone is probably not very thrilled about it.

he then makes a comment about “revive” due to the word being on a podium. he picks up a fuse and says, “can the doctor revive me after this” (as JJ pops up on screen) which could be a direct reference to schneep “reviving” jack- or at least his attempts to.

fear was a big theme in this video, he repeated that he “wasn’t afraid” many times even though he was very obviously afraid. i wonder who he was trying to convince he wasn’t afraid? who are we even watching in this video, and who are they trying to prove something to? he breaks the fourth wall towards the end and tells us “no fear, im repeating it so you guys remember it.” does he want us to have no fear, is it important that we aren’t afraid? or is he trying to convince us/whoever he really isn’t afraid, just cautious for our sake? 

there were about 5 mentions of magic i caught throughout this video.

Oh boy *rolls up sleeves*. I’ve been waiting for some Jojo asks!

Ok, we know that Jotaro is an upfront kind of guy who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. When he first realizes he may like someone romantically, he has an existential crisis especially with what happened after SDC. I feel like he wouldn’t be open to a relationship until well after SDC due to PTSD. I don’t want to say that him being a yandere is because of what he went through in Cairo and from losing/almost losing people close to him, but those events strongly influenced him.

Saying that Jotaro is protective is an understatement, and sometimes how or why he does something doesn’t make sense right away to people around him (but they make a huge amount of sense to him). We see this quite a few times in SDC. So, once he’s sorted through his crisis and deems he has a crush on darling, protective Jotaro comes out and he’ll have the intense need to keep them safe from the horrors he’s seen. The world is a dangerous place and Jotaro can’t bear to lose another important person in his life.

Jotaro most likely fell for darling’s calm and considerate demeanor. They didn’t follow him around or annoyed him, and perhaps they were a bit traditional. Even if they’re not traditional, that’s ok, because Jotaro has all the patience in the world to teach darling the right (his) way of doing things. Perhaps he misread darling’s considerate behavior, but he’ll never admit the fuzzy feelings he gets when darling dotes on him. Their simple “hello” and making small talk every morning makes him bashful (he will never tell darling that).

If someone speaks to darling wrongfully or crosses the line in any way, Jotaro isn’t above a physical display. Nothing says ‘leave darling be’ like an ora to the face. This just solidifies that darling isn’t safe without him. One way to ensure darling’s safety? Kidnap them of course! Maybe kidnap is too strong of a word. More like “bring darling home and let them experience how safe and easy a life with him is”. Darling is smart, she has to be perceptive to understand how Jotaro works and what his silence means.

Darling might have a tough time at first, moving to a new place often does make you feel like a fish out of water. But, Jotaro is there to guide them and if darling pushes back? Jotaro can calmly reason with them (if intimidation doesn't work, there's always Star Platnum, but hopefully it doesn't have to come to that). Darling will learn their true place as Jotaro's home spouse and find joy being with him. Even if it takes a very long time.
