Daniel’s gotta ask about that) and he’s crazy beautiful too but so awkward whenever Daniel tries to chat after class. Kinda off putting? Daniel thinks he can coax him into coffee if he talks about the videos he’s supposed to be producing, maybe? Anyway gratuitous scenes where Armand’s sweating through his loose dance clothes and they make out against the wall mirror

Do you have the headcanons for Marlene Dunne, Billy and Graham's mom from DJATS? I wish we knew more about her, tbh. Also,I think her actress isn't much older than Sam Claflin,but I hc her as being 25 when Billy was born.

I'd like her to spend time with her sons and grandkids, but she lives so far away, so they have to keep to phonecalls and letters and occasional visits. I don't remember if she ever knew about Billy's rehab (book or show), but when she finds out, she will realise that Camila almost literally saved his life. I just don't see a reason why there should be any animosity between Marlene and Camila.

25 is a perfectly good age to have a child, at least it was back in that day.

Okay not to be pedantic and I agree with your character analysis but this is one of my weird interests so for the sake of accuracy it's 100% not true that Stanford didn't have gender studies in the 2000s. Their feminist studies department (which is now called feminist gender and sexuality studies) has been around since the 1980s and their institute for gender research was founded in 1974. It was actually somewhat of a requirement in the 90s-2000s as in it was a course area where you had to take 2 out of 3 of the areas so there is a good chance Sam took at least one gender studies class. I don't know where this misconception came from but I found most of this info easily from the Stanford website and the rest on the wayback machine.

I agree that Sam is not some perfect ally and that he wouldn't have automatically become one in college and Stanford is not like, the progressive hub of the world but I don't want to be revisionist and deny all the work the feminist scholars there have done for the last 50 years. One gender studies course does not a feminist make but it's not like that stuff didn't exist.

good to know ! i'll add a link to this ask to the previous one. like i said, i wasn't sure if it was true, just that i'd seen someone a while ago say that there weren't classes like this at stanford at the time. but i don't wanna spread misinfo either and i was literally about to start looking into this for my own curiosity so this message came at the perfect time!

and yea like, even today, there are some majors that require taking a class or two in these areas but that doesn't mean someone will suddenly become an expert in these fields. especially if it was a random required course, like i'm sure sam was a good student and did all his work, but years later, you're gonna end up forgetting a lot of it if it was just some random gen-ed class and not like, a subject your actively passionate about and continuously studying.

my laptop charger uhhhhhh. met its end in a very permanent, very fire hazardy kind of way last week. while waiting for a replacement I decided to try and get some work done at the library and was asking around for some urban fantasy (extra points for a mystery plot of some kind) recommendations to check out while I was there
