so ive been thinking about this au ive wanted to make inspired by the incredible pogd au by @beluvbug for a while !!
this is a very self indulgent au based on pinkie dealing with the conflict of wanting to be taken seriously while also playing themselves down constantly as a way to please others, especially when it come to their identity as nonbinary and their disabilities
i was going to make the first post about this au a little comic but ironically the disabilities have made that a bit hard and i wanted to post something for it

#my characters#mmofail#HIS name is Beta Burst but he is played by a woman named Haley#and shes chill correcting people that hes a she irl but also just doesnt mind which pronouns people use online#irl though shes a she/her through and through#also she tells one of her employees at work (shes a manager at a convenience store) to get a hobby or find a fun online game#cause he always looks super tired and he tells her he doesnt wanna socialize out of work in person people are tiring#and then hes like hmmmm a hobby or game hmmm#and then he gets the same game and goes on the same server and lets his sister design his character#while he naps then he just picks a name and chooses ETA 1400 bc he works overnight and if he logs in#he plans to log in at like 2pm so why not make that his name#however there is a guild owner who wants to collect all the greek letters (her own name in game is Omega Rising)#so she makes the executive decision to include eta 1400 and when he and beta are talking one day in game#hes like oh yeah im just playing cause my boss at work told me i needed a hobby#and beta is like oh shit thats me im the boss who told him he needs a hobby#so eta starts calling beta boss in game just like he calls her irl#and its just a nice lil friendship and shes happy when eta starts to make friends in the guild#he still has a lost lil puppy like following vibe when hes around boss but eta does do some growing socially#mostly with betas friends in the guild which are: a guy with no backbone and a guy playing a girl who doesnt tell anyone shes a he#anyway thank you thats my oc essay tags and i love beta and shes just really funny to me#bc she just is there to vibe and play pvp#which the horn lore is those are high ranking pvp rewards for heavy blade users#and when eta finds out the pvp reward for a healer is a bloodied crown#hes like please please please help me learn pvp that sounds really cool ill do my best boss

cishet people who are clueless but trying i love you. this morning i was talking to a straight guy in my class about it/its pronouns and how some it/its users like it because they see it as redefining their identities/senses of personhood, and he nodded sagely and started talking about the replicates in blade runner

What I love about Warframe as a newcomer is that there doesn't seem to be any sort of shipping wars or fandom discourse at all. I've been into a lot of shooters before (ie. Overwatch, Apex Legends, etc.) so Warframe is a huge breath of fresh, clean air.

#yeah there’s no warframe shipping wars that I’m aware of tbh lol I know people heavily ship Stalker and Hunhow but you probably won’t meet#those two for a bit. not a big emphasis on fan service or shipping for this game tbh#only discourse I know about was rightie incels getting mad about Equinox being nonbinary and the devs made the pronouns she/her to calm#everyone down about the whole thing but that was many years ago#and on the women’s day Facebook post Equinox was noticeably absent from the image they made for it in recent years :)#so that implies equinox is nonbinary and uses she/her pronouns which I think is cool and a clever way to go about giving us nonbiney frame#outside of Xaku of course! but that’s the biggest incident I can think of and I think there’s a polyamory frame too can’t remember which 1#accidentally progressive W giving a nonbinary character she her pronouns ngl#any sort of ‘discourse’ I’ve seen usually comes from#comes from queerphobes (idk why it sent I wasn’t done typing) who are acting in bad faith#and comes from bad faith folks who have no reading comprehension about the lore and anti-capitalist messages of the in game story#I’ve seen a lot of self shippers here too; one of my moots self ships with Solaris which is cool#cephalon simaris* is what I meant damn autocorrect#if there are shipping wars and discourse I’m not very aware of it and it never gets big enough to breach containment or make its way to me#I can’t find the specific women’s day image unfortunately anymore but I remember being like oh hell yeah#warframe confession#warframe#mod rose

weirdly one of my favorite anime’s is Blue Period on netflix. mostly for the nostalgia of art classes and art school it gives me to the point i’m emotional. but also for the fact that there is a canon trans character that isn’t just forever written as cross dressing.

Absolutely baffling that when I talk about my partner (who is clocked as a cis male by the general public 90% of the time) the second some people realize he's trans they start using they/them?? Despite clear usage of he/him and their grasp of it before?
Then they struggle ENDLESSLY with using they/them for me bc even though I cut off 3/4 of the hair on my head and have more chest & body hair than the cis men I've dated, my hips and chest still clock me as female no matter what
