okay but something i keep thinking about is the fact that mc, Rafayel, Zayne, Xavier and Sylus are currently all in the same timeline/lifetime. in the main story we’ve interacted with all four so far, and we’ve learned through their cards/myth/scenes about their past with mc and what has brought them here now. so is it not a fact that they are all SIMULTANEOUSLY pining and craving for her?! a man who betrayed a god, a man who betrayed his kingdom & people x 2, a man who?? well we aren’t sure for sylus just yet but LISTEN!! If the ending of this game is that she only chooses ONE the rest of them are fucked. they’re screwed in this lifetime and have to watch their soulmate, the love of their life go with ANOTHER. that’s absolutely insane

out of respect of everyone around you who can ABSOLUTELY see and hear you no matter where you’re seated in a movie theater,

i don’t care how bored you are, oh my god, why do you get to drag down MY experience? what makes you so entitled?

i happen to go to movies to get immersed and escape for a bit, why does your phone screen and talking (or worse, your PHONE CALL??????) get to drag me out of my entertainment? (the same one we both paid to be here for???) pull ME out of the film to think “oh my god, how rude and stimulation-addicted can people be???” and then ponder how much i can tolerate & weigh the potential awkward or aggressive outcomes of confrontation (rather than focusing on the story..)

it is outrageously distracting, to say the least. and i’m an opening night type of movie goer. so how EXTRA rude can you be to people who are all exited to be here first?

don’t even get me started on the people who want to take pictures and film the screen for their instagram stories or tiktoks or whatever. it’s not a concert, christ almighty. you don’t need the clout for being the first person to leak an exciting scene, your status doesn’t need the title screen attached. you don’t have to make the first gifs online of that moment. you’re not the paparazzi of fandom, you don’t need to be the first to break the news that x, y, or z happens in the plot. you just spoil surprises for everyone else

oh my god. put the phones away for the 2 or 3 hours. yes, even the long ones. that’s what you DO to be CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS in movie theaters, this is not actually up for debate. some people just need to be reminded.

in my idealized version of the books (the Good timeline), jericho and constantine’s relationship is not the one aaron and calls relationship parallels — it’s constantine and joseph. in this essay i will *gets taken out by cassandra clare’s snipers*

dean is the type of guy to take you out on a movie date except the movie is a surprise and you think you're about to watch something romantic but he actually got u tickets for the most disgusting vomit inducing gory horror movie of the decade just to mess with you if you're squeamish.... and he thinks it's hilarious

first date with this cute guy and he buys you a big bucket of warm, buttery popcorn and some choc tops, and you’ve got your 3D glasses on, and you turn to him because you just can’t help but wonder—and he hums when you start with a “hey dean?” that ventures towards the inevitable question; “what movie are we watching?”

“don’t you worry, honey bunny.” he grins easily, reaches out for the cool bottle of lemonade besides your seat, in the cup holder furthest from him; “i picked out something that’ll be fun for the both of us.” it’s strange, considering he has his own drink, and there’s only one straw in yours, but all you’re thinking about is how lucky you are that such a considerate guy likes you. <3

you settle down when the lights dim and the excited murmur in the cinema quells to a nervous sort of silence. anticipation, maybe. dean reaches out to squeeze your hand when the film starts, and you’re glad he chooses not to let it go when the title flashes across the screen in big red letters.

one of my favorite things about getting older is that I’m just more sure and more confident in taking control in social situations and making other people feel at ease. I really love it!

#have always wanted to be good at it but it takes time #at least for me #my mom was describing one of her college friends to me the other day #and she goes ‘yeah she was kind of like you. personable and direct and kind.#‘and she was always going to deal with you (positive) instead of ignoring you’#honestly compliment of all time! because it does not come totally naturally to me #and there’s a lot that gets in my way—shyness anxiety a certain stiffness #but I love when i can feel it sort of giving way #anyway just rambling #also once again teaching has helped with this so much #because kids HAVE to be guided through a social situation. they don’t know what to do #and if I let them run it it’s always stupid #so just taking control asking the questions kind of —situating them so we can have a moment and then I can dismiss them #not that I do the same with adults lol. but works more often than you think #just having some direction and taking charge of a social interaction #I remember this comedian once saying he loved when someone took control in a social situation re: greetings/handshakes/hugs #like ‘oh thank goodness someone is figuring this out’ it’s so true and so funny skskdkdjd #I hope there is nothing peremptory about it! but I often find I’m so much ruder by doing nothing #than by being proactively kind and (hopefully) appropriate to the occasion #you know I’ve spoken on it before but my life really changed #when I made myself go back and say goodbye to my students after graduation my second year teaching #like. I literally ran away because I was so shy and it felt so awkward and no one was taking charge of how to do it #and the students wouldn’t (can’t) so it felt like they didn’t want to #and then I realized no—if someone is going to take the lead here it has to be me #and then I did! and there was in fact so much love waiting for me #people just don’t know how to show it #so you have to give them an opportunity #this is so many thoughts but I feel this sooooo much and I care about it so much

my fellow anxiety havers what is one of your mundane day-to-day tasks that should by no means be anything remarkable but feels like you are being hunted for sport. i’ll go first: putting all of your groceries on the conveyor belt during checkout is like a long series of quick time events to me

#marzi speaks #it’s bc like. you have a cart Full of groceries #there is a cashier looking to scan the groceries #there is (often) a bagger looking to bag the groceries and put them back in your cart #goal: get as many groceries onto that belt as fast as possible #REMEMBER: heaviest items go first so that nothing gets crushed when the bagger puts the groceries back in your cart #it is so stressful. move so fast ‘which of these items is gonna be heavier’ getting to the end and realizing you missed like 3 cans…#it’s even worse if there are ppl behind you. i live in texas so i can at least make socially acceptable conversation with the cashier #EXCEPT i’m already way overthinking the conveyor belt situation. i’m already frazzled #and now i gotta do small talk? oh god #on the bright side i am so fast at it it’s insane. i move faster than the cashier can keep up with #which is A Good Thing. bc that means i am at max efficiency #but like. WAAAUUGHH #and then u pay and hope the card reader isn’t gonna be a bitch #and you sit there for a moment while the cashier and bagger bag the rest of your groceries #and ur like ‘….should i help should i stay here’#tbh checkout is why i like never go grocery shopping alone if i know i won’t have self check out #bc what if there is no bagger. then i gotta balance Get Groceries On Belt. Pay For Groceries. AND Bag The Groceries #ouh god the time concerns. no . never. you can’t make me do that alone #someone handles the transaction while the other person bags it’s the only reasonable way to do it #i KNOW logically that it is not a big deal. but i hate the idea of making anyone wait for me
