Momo: I really think so too. And because of that I wanted to chat with you even more, Yuki!

Yuki: Let's take a bunch of our juniors there to repay the favor. I'm sure he'll be happy to see how successful of a senior you've become.

Momo: Yeah...! If I told my past self that I'd become the Absolute Kings with you he'd be super surprised.

IDOLiSH7 Anime vs Game Comparisons

First Beat - Episode 4

Days Before TRIGGER's Concert

Turns out the 1st and 2nd side story got mashed into the beginning of the 4th episode! I completely forgot since it's been a few years since I watched the anime.

There are still some differences. For example, Tamaki did not try to skipping school. And the discussion with Riku, Mitsuki, and Sogo was with the whole i7 crew instead. They used this so everyone can say their feelings about the ban together.

The discussion about being freedom and being alone vs. compromise and being with others was completely skipped. (Personally, I think this is a bit of a shame because I think it's pretty important to Tamaki's character). Instead, they focused on Sogo not being able to be honest about his feelings and the contrast between Sogo and Tamaki's personalities.

Iori's observation on Riku's reaction to TRIGGER is different. In the game, he catches on Riku's feelings of rivalry towards Tenn and is happy about it. In the anime, he says, "When you stimulate pent up emotions, they explode at many times the intensity. I hope the stimulation you (TRIGGER) provide is of the strongest variety." It seems like he's picking up on Riku's frustration / stress because he is not allowed to sing. The statement is also an observation of the whole i7 as a group. It is a good way to summarize and wrap up the situation. He also feels so much like a manager because of this line.

Hours Before TRIGGER's Concert

The anime's explanation for Tenn's hospitalization is overwork. The game adds a bit more: it was raining rather heavily, but they weren't able to move the day of the shoot. So Tenn just pushed himself. The game makes it clear that Tenn did not get sick because he is reckless (in contrast to Riku). It was a situation he couldn't help.

Tamaki, Nagi, and Yamato find Tenn when he collapsed after getting off the taxi. Nagi immediately tries to do a mouth-to-mouth. Yamato tells him to stop because Tenn is still breathing.

Nagi: Oh...

Yamato: Stop with that "but I wanted to do that" look.

Tamaki approaches Tenn and asks him if he's okay.

The game makes it more obvious that Tenn's attitude completely changed after Tamaki says, "Oh, I'm not a fan. We're here to get some stimulation."

Nagi and Yamato pick up the change in attitude, but Yamato assumed that it's because Tamaki was being rude (saying TRIGGER's performance is just "some stimulation"). I think it's because Tamaki is not a fan.

We get to see the Nanase parent's reaction to Kujou taking Tenn away. Their father got mad and said, "Cut the crap!", while their mom started THROWING SALT. The woman was trying to purify the ground Kujou stepped on 😂��� Riku was holding Tenn's hand, like in the anime.

The Concert

We get to see more reactions in the game!

Nagi and Yamato are amazed by Tenn's performance, even though he is performing with a fever. Riku is shocked. He seems astonished at Tenn's determination and dedication.

Iori notices that Gaku has a lot of fans. He is amazed at Gaku's skills and charm. Sogo comments that Gaku is currently the most popular rising idol in Japan.

Tamaki notices Ryuu because of Ryuu's dance. Mitsuki also likes Ryuu. He says, "He's got a good physique and does flashy moves that looks wild and sexy. That's nice..." It's the same line as the one in the anime, but the game delivery seems to emphasize more on Mitsuki's desire to be like Ryuu.

Iori asks if Mitsuki wants to be sexy like Ryuu. Mitsuki replies that he wants to be manly with a big body. They have the same interaction as the one in the anime, but it felt less like a joke.

After the Concert

They cut a bit from TRIGGER's backstage. Tenn collapses again, but Gaku and Ryuu are there to take care of him. Then, Tenn says, "I love you guys". This is also shown in the anime.

The game adds some scenes with Tenn. Tenn said that he feels so good that he can see the stars. Ryuu is understandably worried hahaha. I think the game was hinting that Tenn said, "I love you guys" because he was delirious. After all, it's not something Tenn would normally say.

Like in the anime, Anesagi comes in the room furious because of IDOLiSH7. Gaku also gets mad after Anesagi explains what was going on outside because Tenn performed at the expense of his own health.

However, game Gaku seems much more angry than anime Gaku. He was about to go out and settle things himself.

Ryuu tries to stop Gaku, saying that if Gaku goes outside, things will get out of control. Gaku says that, that's just what he wants. Ryuu tries to get Tenn to help calm Gaku down.

But Tenn is just GONE 😂 He was singing, "Twinkle~ Twinkle~". He seems actually conscious in the anime. Tenn's reaction to Anesagi in the anime:

Side Story I - Riku, Tenn, and Bombs

The story starts with TRIGGER's concert. Strangely, only Tenn-nii is on stage 😆

As people shouted for Tenn, Riku feels wronged. He feels Tenn abandoned his family to do this. However, suddenly, Tenn makes an announcement for a special guest!

That special guest is none other than his little brother Riku! Tenn calls Riku on stage. Riku pretends that he hasn't forgiven Tenn but goes on stage anyways.

Tenn apologizes to Riku on stage and says that everything he did that day (when he left Riku) was for this day (to call Riku on stage and perform together).

Riku asks him if he's telling the truth. Tenn assures him and tells him to wave to the audience. Riku suddenly changes into his MONSTER GENERATiON clothes and happily waves at the audience.

The audience goes wild~~

Riku is overjoyed. He said that this feels like their parents old club. Tenn agrees. He is happy that their dream finally came true. He, then, urges Riku to pick up the mic, so they can sing together.

Right before Riku could say the song title that he and Tenn were going to sing together, Iori interrupts his dream and brings him back to reality.

Iori asks Riku what he was dreaming about because Riku was smiling in his sleep. Riku says that it was a dream that he really didn't want to see. Iori doubts him because Riku looked so happy.

Riku repeats that the dream did not make him feel happy. And even though he did that in the dream (join Tenn on stage), he values IDOLiSH7 more now. Iori doesn't understand. He reminds Riku that he doesn't know what Riku dreamt about, so he doesn't understand what Riku is referring to.

Riku tells Iori that he's happy Iori didn't see his dream because Iori would surely be disappointed if he did. Riku continues, convincing the clueless Iori that his dream is definitely to be with IDOLiSH7.

Iori still doesn't understand, but says, "I believe in you" because Riku's eyes looked so earnest. Iori tells Riku to get ready because today is the day of TRIGGER's concert.

We see a shortened version of this in Vibrato Episode 3. Sadly, there was no scene of Iori saying, "I believe in you" to Riku, despite not understanding a thing :'(

The rest of the side story talks about the bomb incident, which was wonderfully adapted in Vibrato 3-4!

Side Story II - Sogo and Mitsuki's Music Talk

Mitsuki and Sogo talk about concerts while waiting for Yamato, Tamaki, and Nagi.

Sogo says that this is his first time going to an idol concert, but he goes to band concerts quite often. He continues talking about the joys of moshing and stage diving (My guy Sogo is a party lover at heart).

Mitsuki doesn't seem to understand anything Sogo was referring to, so Sogo reroutes the conversation to idol concerts. He asks if Mitsuki goes to them often (This really feels like when your friends can't follow your nerding 😂 I feel you Sogo!).

Mitsuki does! He goes to both male and female idol concerts. Mitsuki usually supports all the members of the group, but he also gets the feeling of excitement people get when they scream for their bias. Mitsuki expresses his excitement to get the silver tapes from tonight's concert, since they've been popular lately.

Silver tapes are tapes given during concerts. They will often include handwritten messages from the members of an idol group.

This time, it's Sogo's turn to not understand 😆

Mitsuki comments that concerts can look so different depending on the kind you're attending. Sogo agrees. He says that he's not used to having an assigned seat in concerts and asks Mitsuki to tell him if he's doing anything improper during the concert.

Mitsuki tells Sogo to be mindful of the people around you when waving your fans or light stick and that he should wave them around shoulder height.

Some great fans by fans: "I'll support you forever", "I love you, Gaku-sama", "Ryuunosuke love", "Tenn-kun is an angel"

Mitsuki actually brought a homemade fan! (I wish we could've seen it 🥺) Sogo wishes he made one himself too.

Mitsuki asks Sogo how he started liking TRIGGER.

Sogo first encountered TRIGGER in a music festival! He really liked their voices and got addicted after the festival. He was surprised to find out that they were idols. He's amazed at how they were able to sing such songs while dancing.

Mitsuki happily exclaims, "Aren't idols amazing?" Sogo smiles and says, "Yes!" They both renew their determination to debut.

Mitsuki suggests that they should buy commercial fans because idols may give you some fanservice if you have a solo fan (a fan about only one member).

Sogo can't seem to choose between the three, so he asks which one Mitsuki wants to buy. Mitsuki proudly declares that he'll get Yaotome Gaku's fan. Mitsuki likes Gaku because Gaku always gives his all and because Gaku's face is Mitsuki's type!

Sogo decides that he'll get Tenn's or Ryuu's.

The anime only includes the part where Mitsuki and Sogo decide on whose fans they're going to get (minus the Gaku's face is Mitsuki's type and why he likes Gaku!).

There's also a funny part where Mitsuki and Sogo are so sure that the trio won't be late. As the audience, we know they'd be late because of the bomb case.

Side Story III - The Concert from Tenn's Perspective

The story starts with TRIGGER's concert from Tenn's perspective. Tenn is taken aback, seeing Riku in the audience.

He hesitates naming the song TRIGGER was going to perform because Riku calls out to him.

Riku says, "Tenn-nii! Tenn-nii, are you happy now? After leaving your family behind and finding happiness for yourself and only yourself, are you happy?"

Tenn ignores Riku and a attempts to name the next song again. Riku shouts, "Don't pretend like you can't hear me!"

Tenn steels his resolve and calls out, "SECRET NIGHT!" This triggers Riku's attack, which Tenn notices. The audience goes wild.

Seeing that no one seems to notice Riku's condition, Tenn begins to call out, "Riku...! ...Someone please notice! He's having an attack! Someone please help him leave!"

Despite his calls, no one seems to notice. Instead, they seem to call out even louder for Tenn.

Tenn becomes more desperate and says, "Please save Riku! Don't crush him! Someone please...!"

Then, Tenn wakes up from his dream, delirious with a fever. He calms himself down and makes his way to the concert hall.

We cut back to Ryuu and Gaku discussing about how they will split up Tenn's part among the two of them. Anesagi gives them some suggestions about the performance and tells Gaku to message Tenn if he's that worried.

Ryuu suggests that they should wear Tenn's T-shirt and send Tenn a message. Gaku shuts the idea down, saying that this will be used to mock him until the day he dies. Anesagi worries that she won't fit in the T-shirt because she gained some weight.

Ryuu reassures her that she's always pretty. Anesagi thanks Ryuu and comments on how Gaku is like his dad: he's only nice to girls he actually likes. Gaku says he's not like his dad and flippantly tells Anesagi that she's beautiful. Anesagi doesn't believe him.

After more bomb scenes and Mitsuki + Sogo fan merch shopping scenes, we cut to Riku and Iori. Now, they've arrived at the concert hall.

Iori notices that Riku has been pretty quiet since they left the dorm and that Riku looks a bit pale. Riku tries to reassure Iori that nothing is wrong.

Iori realizing that Riku is still bothered about something says, "...As I have said this morning, I don't know what kind of dream you had last night since I cannot see it. But in reality, you and I are looking towards the same dream. And that is IDOLiSH7. I don't know what happened, but I hope you can feel better."

Riku: "Huh? What did you say? Sorry, I was spacing out...." (😂😂😂😂 Iori has been shooting love arrows all morning, but it seems like he missed all of them LOL)

Iori: "...Could you please make sure not to miss when someone is speaking from the heart?"

Reml sighed, staring at her phone screen in complete adoration. "Gaku-kun is so handsome," she smiled, as the purple-haired idol moved on stage. "Flower, you met him, didn't you?"

Flower shrugged. "I lived across the street from him for a bit," she explained. "We didn't really talk, but he was pretty nice the few times we exchanged words." She thought for a moment. "Gumi always spoke pretty highly of him, I guess, but they're cousins or something, so I don't really know if that's accurate. He seemed to mostly keep to himself."

Again, Reml sighed, this time with a bit of a dreamy air. "That totally makes sense. In all his concerts, he really gives off that vibe of being, like, polite but distant."

Flower blinked, turning to the other. "You think Dancing Samurai gives off a polite but distant vibe?"

Reml blushed. "His songs don't necessarily reflect his personality!" She proclaimed, "In all his in-between-song banter, he's very... hm..." She paused, trying to think of a good word for it. "He's very kuudere-ish? Or maybe a dandere?"

"You are the only person who uses those terms anymore," Flower sighed, exasperated.

"Nonsense!" Reml smiled, "Tons of people use them online!"

"I'm sure." Flower looked over Reml's shoulder at her phone screen. "I can't believe he can handle concerts, honestly. They drove me crazy when I worked for Vocaloid."

"Did they?" Reml asked. She loved attending concerts, but had never been in one. (Rime had once commented that all of them were doomed to YouTube and NicoNico covers for the rest of time. She seemed pretty upset at the prospect, but overall, no one in the complex particularly minded the idea.)

"Oh, absolutely," Flower responded, resting her chin in her hand. "Me and Yukari and Ia talked about it a few times. Ia was pretty fine with them- y'know, she's not super anxious about most things- but me and Yukari always thought they were more trouble than they're worth. Both of us ended up in the hospital over them at least once."

Reml took a second to process her jealousy of Flower and Yukari being so close, and then let it go. It only made sense- both of them had worked for Vocaloid for a while before joining CeVIO. (Of course, Yukari had gotten off easy, in Reml's opinion. Yukari had cut ties quietly, but when Flower announced her resignation, she was dogpiled, constantly harassed online. Only Reml knew just how badly that effected her. That was something Yukari would never have.)

(Anyway.)

More prominent in her mind, Reml wondered if Gakupo had to go to the hospital after each concert. She wondered if he worried himself sick with anxiety every single time. She wondered if Gumi did, if Luka did, if Rin and Len did. Did Hatsune Miku herself get nervous?

"Do you ever miss it?" Reml found herself asking, though she figured she already knew the answer.

"Not at all," Flower replied, confirming her thoughts. "Resigning was awful, but overall, I'm happier now. The anxiety just wasn't worth it. Doing covers everyday isn't that bad." She paused. "Besides, if I was still there, I never would have met you."

Reml blushed, staring at Flower, forgetting the concert she was watching even existed.

How could she pay attention when Flower was right there?

Iori….obviously, like I expected from my brother. He pays attention to everything. Not only the taste and the appearance, he also considers the customer's point of view

Mitsuki: He seems pretty harsh to me!

Iori: He may be harsh with words, but he’s basically sweet as sugar with his little brother

Tenn: Wait, take what he said with a pinch of salt. We’re not different from all the other brothers

Iori: Are you serious? You set up such an incredible game for him, you completely devoted yourself to him. That’s why he turned into such a selfish, childish, innocent angel 

Minami:  A selfish, childish, innocent angel..?

Tenn:...maybe asking Izumi Iori to join us that day was a mistake

Mitsuki:..what incredible game are you talking about?

Tenn: When we were children, I acted as a robot controlled by Riku. He could give me all the orders he wanted

Tenn: They were childlike things, like firing missiles or equipping a machine gun

Mitsuki: In other words, he could manipulate Kujo as he preferred…? 

Minami: That’s…. It sounds pretty fascinating. Since he experienced such a game when he was a child, I guess all the interest he had in toys which didn’t move vanished 

Mitsuki: But just with that he could make Riku happy

Tenn: Exactly

Tenn: When Riku was a kid, there were many days when he couldn’t leave his bed.  As those days went by, he was done with illustration books and anime…sometimes, he had a bored expression on his face 

Tenn: One day, he got into an anime about robots. So I thought that I could entertain him by becoming a robot myself

Tenn: Riku was the pilot with the controller. He could spent the whole day having fun by making me move around

Iori:....you really are unique brothers

Tenn: ….I was glad as well. Seeing Riku laugh represented the greatest happiness, to me

Minami: It’s hard for me to imagine, since I’m an only child…basically, a big brother is willing to sacrifice himself for his little brother? 

Tenn: It’s not a sacrifice

Tenn: A big brother draws strengths from his little brother’s mere presence

IDOLiSH7 Third BEAT! Episode 14 Review

It’s here. Finally. Also, I have decided to just share pictures this cour, unless something really catchy comes up.

🍀 A/N: I am scared, anxious and quite excited at the same time.

(Spoilers under the cut! Refrain if you don’t want to see the pictures and content!)

Starting it with this one.

I have got quite the idea how much interesting character Touma is. From the first cour, I gathered he is a nice boy, but seeing him taking part in that disgusting plan of Ryo made me question things. And now is this line. I am pretty sure there’s some hidden implication behind it and definitely all the boys from ZOOL have it too.

(MITSUUU!!! Yama! Oh, little snake Minami ahahaha)

(SOGO MY CUTE CHIBI ADOR- *ahem*)

I really like how every member who has met ZOOL has either negative or a subtle opinion, but Riku points out the good quality in Touma. He also mentions the line about Toma not singing earnestly, which has some hidden implication.

(Oh look. It’s my angel smilin- *covers mouth to stop fangirling*)

Anyway, well said Tenn. I was kind of worried that Tenn was turning a blind eye to Kujo’s tricks, but glad he goes up against him when the latter mentions how he used Haruka and abandoned him.

Of course, being a benefactor to Tenn, he can’t voice his thoughts further out loud, but that look on Kujo’s face serves him right. Tenn, how much of an amazing character you are...

They are rivals. But still standing up for each other when one’s in trouble. IDOLiSH7 is hands down a masterpiece where along with handsome idols, we see beautiful bonds, emotions and compassion.

This line catches my attention yet again. Some might think Riku is an innocent boy with lots of talent, but adding to that, he is so mature and is able to see things beyond seeable. Also, really proud of TRIGGER for holding their heads high and performing with the same energy despite all the drama going on. GO TRIGGER!!!

I don’t know if Re:vale is also being targeted by Ryo seeing how the producer of their show is abruptly transferred, but if yes, this is beyond forgiving. Glad that at least they are able to see what’s going on and thinking on what to do next, without hesitation. But Ryo, involving Yaotome Papa has crossed all limits already, hmph.

There’s a line Ryu says, that if they start to hate Ryo and ZOOL, then how will they be any different. But at the same time, Re:Vale’s actions and TRIGGER’s actions are contrasting, one is planning how to fight back directly while the other is trying to negotiate/solve it without causing any massive drama.

(Well hello there. You are being used.)

Look at them. Just look at them. They even take a day off altogether so as to support TRIGGER. They are my only reason of smiling in this cour, it seems.

(Babies. Look at baby MEZZO”. Also SOO CHAN!!! ~\(≧▽≦)/~)

Also, what is this. TRIGGER being kidnapped but ZOOL being tied up in the ED.

I have to give positive points to ZOOL for singing this banger ED. I am still listening to it and boping my head.

Episode 15 is going to be another rollercoaster, but hey, we know we can manage that drama when our idols are here! Before we end the discussion, WHAT IS THIS.

(I hope he is not suffering, please NOO.)

I will say I am kind of glad next episode is after a week, cause this is really too much to handle. Especially that part where Mitsuki saves the show just after Mr. Shimooka asks Gaku a question related to the scandal. Just wondering that this is occuring to them, and how they are managing, is praiseworthy and terrifying at the same time.

Momo: That being said, the people we have to watch out for are our own teammates. Tamaki, do you think you can suspect your own friends?

Tamaki Yotsuba: Huh!? Uh, sure!

Momo: Really?

Tamaki Yotsuba: I'm always on the lookout for whoever ate my pudding, anyway.

Momo: That sounds really rough! Hey Mitsuki, you guys should really create a more trustworthy environment for your younger members.

Mitsuki Izumi: Oh please, we don't eat his pudding THAT often! Most of the time, he eats it himself and then forgets about it.

Tamaki Yotsuba: Okay fine, sometimes it's me who ate it!

Mitsuki Izumi: Ahaha! And there you have it!

Momo: Still, even if Tamaki's cool with it, having to suspect your teammates can be a lot ot take in.

Mitsuki Izumi: True. I can definitely see it leading to some awkward situations.

Tenn Kujo: That's part of it, but there's also the fact that you're a lot friendlier than your wild and dignified looks let on.

Momo: I see! So, you think Ryu-chan placed high on the rankings?

Tenn Kujo: I do.

Gaku Yaotome: Nah...

Tenn Kujo: What?

Gaku Yaotome: I disagree.

Tenn Kujo: With what?

Ryunosuke Tsunashi: You don't think I'm like a wolf?

Gaku Yaotome: Ah... I'll let you know when they announce the results.

Private Love :: Chapter 4 :: Gaku Yaotome x Reader

Summary: You go to a love hotel with the i7, Re:Vale, and TRIGGER men.

You had casually mentioned going to a hotel while you and Gaku were chatting on his couch. He seemed a little offended at the idea at first.

"What's wrong with my house? Y'know if someone notices us going in that'll be a load of trouble." He said.

Honestly, you were only joking, but at the same time a bit curious if the two of you could pull it off. 

A bit of pleading on your end and he couldn't say no to your puppy dog eyes. He marked a specific date that he had no work on. Your boyfriend acted like he wasn't really interested yet you distinctly remember seeing him looking it up over his shoulder.

You on the other hand were excited. You loved trying new things (sometimes you had to for variety shows as an idol) and Gaku being there would only make it better.

Or so you thought until you arrived.

It was a nice hotel and all but you and Gaku weren't really in the mood yet. You were both scrolling on your phones, backs facing each other. 

"I'm gonna order some food." He gets up, walking over to the dresser and looking through the catalog of food the hotel serves.

The food arrived in no time, but your libido remained the same.

He seemed unbothered, chewing away at the spread of food that was brought in. It smelled delicious and you were glad he enjoyed it (even offering you some, but you declined) but this was starting to get awkward. 

Clearly you wanted to sleep with Gaku, but the butterflies in your stomach was overwhelming. You thought just chilling regularly with him would make him opt to make the first move, but he seemed.. uninterested.

It almost made you feel insecure, but you knew your boyfriend loved you and your body (sometimes sneakily expressing it in public), so why wasn't he doing anything? Had the idea of coming here really bothered him that much?

You waited for him to finish his meal, bored out of your mind at this point. He lets out a satisfied sigh at his clean plate (yet untouched dessert).

"Will that be all, your highness?" You tease him.

"Oh stop." He laughs. Wiping his lips, he finally turns to face you.

"Sorry, I haven't eaten all day since I've been busy, and I can't have my full stamina on an empty stomach."

Well, at least you got an explanation now. Still, it'd be a shame if his dessert went to waste.

He claps his hands together. "Alright, let's get started. Strip your shirt off and lie on the bed."

Admittedly it did kinda turn you on when told you what to do. You wasted no time in doing so.

He starts to pluck the strawberries from the dessert and places them along your torso. You nearly get up, but realize all of it would fall on the floor if you did.

"W-what are you doing?!"

"You told me one time that you wanted to try foodplay, so I'm gonna eat these off your stomach."

They felt a little cold (and wet from icing) on your skin. And he could've explained that before he started doing it, but this was Gaku so you wouldn't even argue.

His wet tongue ran along half of your stomach, circling around your navel. You let out a slight whimper at the sensation.

“I..I thought at first you were just gonna avoid doing this for the rest of the night since you didn’t want to come initially..”

"Do I really seem that dense?" He chuckles, pulling your body closer.

He looks up at you with a sinister glint in his eye. “I’ve got you all to myself tonight, no way i’m passing that up. Or letting you walk straight tomorrow.”

You squeak at the last part, and hate that he notices it, only making his smirk bigger.

Giving you a seductive look, he leans over and picks up a strawberry with his teeth. Your body slightly jolts when he does so, getting jittery and more eager for what's going to happen next.

He eats it, savoring every flavor of it with his tongue. You’re getting hotter by the minute.

“So this is what its like being with the Number 1 Desired Embrace huh?” A breathy laugh escapes you.

His snake-like greyish eyes peer into yours, like a hungry animal.

“I’ll try to live up to that title. Just let me finish with the foreplay first.~” He purrs against your stomach.

“I promise I won’t gossip if you don’t.” You joke, but he seems a little offended before grinning again.

“Whatever, you’re in for it now.”

Many many asks

Once again, I have an inbox full of asks!

Screencapping them all takes too long (and it’s a little annoying when I’ve been sent the same question repeatedly... if I haven’t replied yet and there hasn’t been another ask post, please assume I’ve already got it and will reply eventually! Or send me a non-anon ask). :)

Sorry as always for the delay.

Novel/game info under the cut, some personal opinions I was asked for, plus one novel scan. Only one spoilery answer, clearly marked and at the very bottom.

When we did FL, I calculated it as the main ones being 17 at the start and either 18 by the end of the first game or by the second game (I can’t remember which). No idea about the older ones, realistically they’d have to be (at least) in their 30s somewhere. There’s a time skip of 4 years between Rain and WF, so the main ones would be at least 22 (I’m not sure how much of a gap there is between the other games, but you could probably add a year or two to that).

I don’t have any of the novels scanned in full- I have a fair few of the illustrations as scanned by other people (I’ve picked them up over the years). I think I only own one of the novels myself to photograph (I’d have to pull them apart to scan them and I’m not willing to do that!)

Nw! :) The anime is doing its own thing, so the ending is the ending (and of course, what happens is that they all lived happily ever after ;D (except Aizawa, he can burn)). The novels are more aligned with the game’s canon.

-They go to different universities but are already in love at this point

-They reconnect after an um incident between A and N, S takes him home with him

-Blah blah they meet the kids and then the game happens :)

Now, I know three different people didn’t all ask me about TK one after another. ;) When I get loads of messages, it means I have to find an even bigger chunk of time to reply, so then you end up waiting longer. Please be patient with me!

Anyway, from what I recall/know, TK is basically just fluff with S/N and the kids (when they were little). It’s a pre-game story. It’s three chapters of fluff and then a chapter of porn. Honestly it’s not particularly plot heavy, just a nice little slice of life story.

This ED…doesn’t sound like an ED. It sounds like the OP for a different anime, like Joker Game or something. Also, having Saito Soma as Gentaro and Moriarty…is a bit unsettling because they have a lot of overlap but one’s basically the evil twin of the other.

(Then again, Detective Conan is where I learnt “kuso” from…so my standards are probably not as up-to-scratch as they should be.)

Rin! People keep saying Rin is the mother of the girls and it’s basically the only conclusion that could be done, considering the relationship the two had…but it’s still kind of squick…(Says a person who has no problem with SGRS s2’s ending.)

Update: Someone on ANN said the teacher’s name (Osamu Kirin) being similar to Kirinmaru is sketchy and I agree.

Oh, they’re planting the seeds of Ramuda’s ability here, so to speak. By knowing what Hypnosis Mics are capable of doing, you can see the building blocks of Rap Abilities as well.

Okonbanwa! The extra O is meant to make things formal, but only in front of nouns (sometimes it’s “go”, e.g. goshujin), so it’s Ramuda being overly formal to be cutesy and unconventional.

This episode is very seasonal, but doesn’t really make sense outside of airing on Halloween. C’mon, couldn’t you have given us a Sasara appearance instead of having Ramuda yell down the house…? I knew the FP episode was going to be either lighthearted with a dark undercurrent, like the BB ep (considering we haven’t gotten to Ramuda dying yet), or full-on lighthearted, but…I somehow wonder if the staff had an empty spot labelled “Fling Posse episode” due to COVID and went, “Okay, it airs on Halloween this year, let’s make it Halloween-inspired”…or something. Also, I feel Gentaro got the short end of the stick here.

Update: As for yakuwarigo, Ramuda trends towards the feminine side, which is not something I noticed until my groupwork partner pointed it out to me. The message in this episode has a “yone”, which proves that point even further. “Dayo~n” is a variant of the gender-neutral “yo” ending. Meanwhile, I have game samples that prove Dice uses “ze” like BB/MTC, while Gentaro uses “yo” and desu/masu like Jakurai, so it was really Ramuda anyone wanted to pay attention to since his speech patterns are the most feminine-leaning, possibly due to his extensive hanging out with ladies. (I once read a Tofugu post on how non-binary people deal with language that said if you hang out with ladies a lot, you take on feminine yakuwarigo and if you hang out with guys a lot, you do the same in that direction, but I clearly remember Ramuda using “sa”, which is a slightly male-leaning ending.)
