“Checkmate! I won again, that's five times in a row!” the young queen shouted with excitement.

“I guess you did. Well done!” Baldwin chuckled, a smile of amusement forming behind the silver mask as his wife wrote down another tally mark on her side of the parchment, signaling yet another win.

“I don't know how you keep beating me at this,” the king said grinning.

“I'm just better than you!” y/n teased in reply.

Baldwin smiled in adoration at his beloved. Every night since their wedding, the young couple sat down and played five rounds of chess before retiring to bed.

And every night, y/n had won best out of five.

It wasn't that the king that was letting her win, it was that it was impossible.

Since the young queen had taken to hiding chess pieces underneath her skirt whilst she thought he wasn't looking.

Baldwin had noticed the first time she did it and did not mention it, just to see what would happen. He had chuckled with delight when his wife had shouted “checkmate!” in excitement, knowing full well she had more than half of his pieces underneath her dress.

Ever since then, he had watched her hold back laughter while cheating confidently.

She was completely unaware that he knew about it. Even taunting at how he just couldn't beat her! He thought it was the most adorable thing in the world.

Baldwin never thought once about telling her he knew the secret.

He simply couldn't go without seeing her so happy, and how could he deny her a little fun.

He felt lucky that she even played with him, since she claimed “how boring it was” on the first night he had asked her to a game.

Perhaps this was her way of making it fun for herself.

“I'll clean up! You get ready for bed” y/n stated without getting up.

This was how it would go. She would insist for her to be the one to pack up the chess pieces into position, then take them out from under her dress while thinking he would never know.

Baldwin simply chuckled and stood to get changed while his wife disposed of the evidence.

He removed his mask, placing it on the side table before changing out of his robes to comfortable sleepwear. As the young king settled under the covers, y/n came in grinning at his defeat once again.

“Undefeated once again my love” Baldwin cooed.

Y/n giggled as she too changed out of her robes, crawling into bed beside him.

“I'm so much better than all of those others you have played. Even your sister says she can't beat you!” the queen said through laughter at her own taunts.

“Oh yess soo much better” Baldwin replied, wrapping his arms around his wife and burying his bandaged face into the softness of her hair.

Y/n rubbed her husbands back soothingly before speaking again, “you will beat me one day, don't worry!”.

The king looked down at his wife's smiling face, “I’m sure I will”.

And the Traveller is just like "???" meanwhile Paimon integrates that into her vocabulary. And then maybe at some point, if the reader has a vision they're like "MAIMING AND BITING YOU" "THAT'S IT! Then that’s just plain stupid I’m sorry, like being happy to have the queer rep and not liking bucktommy isn’t mutually exclusive and it’s ridiculous people are trying to make it out to be

Like I’ve personally been sent an ask like that where they implied that I was biphobic for not being a big fan of bucktommy and that “I don’t know how exhausting it is for bi people” - which I gotta say made me go what about my blog would ever make someone think ah yes straight 🤩

Oooo or an idea that might work is you can ask your followers and mutuals (who are the ones most likely to be sending the nice asks) to use an emoji at the start of their asks to indicate to you that this is an ask you’ll like then you can delete any ask without that emoji without even having to look at the hate if it’s causing you that anxiety - if that makes sense?

“I’m telling you, I was born in the wrong timeline and the wrong sex!” Hange exclaims, trading their branded apron for their civilian coat and giving a last minute check to the coffee shop for any obvious task they might have forgotten.

Levi clicks his tongue at them, not for the first time that day, and gestures for them to leave out the front door with him.

“And you only realized that after sixteen years, while watching a blockbuster series about sword fights and magic?”

“Yes! No? I don’t know, I just know I want to be a knight!” they whine, using the tone they know their coworker can hardly stand.

“You want to be a knight, or you want to do one of them?”

“Levi! How dare you put your dirty thoughts into my pure and innocent mind!”

“I may not watch that shit show myself, shitty glasses, but I’ve seen enough screen caps and memes to know no one innocent watches it. Not with those casting choices anyway.”

Hange’s glasses reflect the setting sun and hide their eyes even as they grin devilishly at him, and he groans at his own slip up.

“Oh, you’ve seen enough screen caps to have an opinion then? Tell me, which one strikes your fancy, Neat Freak? The sadist bastard who tortures people into becoming his slaves, or the annoyingly rich golden boy who had three kids with his own sister?”

He just stares at them for a minute, then shakes his head as he locks the front door.

“I swear this show gets worse every time I hear about it,” he mumbles under his breath. “Either way, the one I like best has green eyes, and I think his father was in Lord of The Rings or something?”

“Oh… You mean, Robb Stark?”

Levi glares their way, because how the fuck would he know, again? But Hange, as always immune to his stink eye, just pulls their phone out and hands it over after a quick search.

“Here, is that him? Oh my God, you’re blushing, it’s totally him!” they squeal before Levi can even confirm it with words.

“Shut up and help me pull this down,” he requests, gesturing to the iron shutter they have to secure before leaving. “He is cute,” he still feels the need to argue defensively as Hange complies.

They chuckle and bump their shoulder to his when they squat down to help him with the heavy padlock that secures the system in place.

“He is,” they agree with a reassuring smile, before letting a sigh out. “Shame that he dies in season three though.”

“What? I thought he was, like, the main character!”

“Well, he is, until, you know... he gets his throat slit at his cousin’s wedding, right after he sees his pregnant wife getting stabbed straight into her belly.”

Levi picks up his jaw from the floor and turns to face his coworker, waiting to see if there’s any chance they could be trying to pull one on him —they don’t usually have a strong enough poker face to actually trick him, but they’ve surprised him before in the year they’ve been sharing shifts on this shitty part time job.

“She dies too, of course! Along with everyone who was with them then,” Hange adds right away, like that’s somehow reassuring.

“Why the fuck do you watch this shit, Four Eyes?” he asks, genuinely confused about it all.

“Ah, sorry, I know you’re weird about this stuff. We can talk about something else if you want,” they offer with a sheepish smile, scratching the back of their neck in discomfort.

“I’m not weird about it,” Levi corrects, dismissing their concern with a wave of his hand, “and it’s fine to discuss. I just don’t like violence for the sake of violence, or for shock value. Feels lazy to me.”

“That’s not all there is to it!”

He gives them a pointed glance, and Hange has the decency to blush a little.

“Okay, it’s probably a big part of it… But the plot does justify it most of the time so far, and some characters are really interesting and fun to try to figure out, I think you’d enjoy it! Besides, the fighting scenes are so badass, Levi!”

They launch into a mock choreography of what he can only assume is one of those scenes, and Levi doesn’t bother holding back a chuckle as he walks alongside them. He ignores the puzzled looks from people who pass them by, throwing a glare or two whenever someone dares to stare for too long with judging eyes.

“How do you have so much energy after the shift you just pulled on top of a day in class, for fuck's sake? I really feel like I’m the older one here sometimes.”

And alright, Levi does have another, early and demanding job to go to while other kids his age are in school, which might explain his own state of tiredness. But Hange truly is something else, stamina-wise.

“That’s because you’re an old soul, Levi, whereas I’m brand new and enthusiastic about what the world has to offer! And about swords!”

“Yeah, right. Why don’t you sign up to fencing lessons and get it out of your system for good?”

“Sure, let me give up this side job I only took for the fun of it, ask my imaginary butler to fetch my thousand dollars allowance from my billionaire parents and I’ll do just that!”

He bites the inside of his cheek to prevent his smile from stretching too wide, even though he knows Hange will be able to tell they got him with that one anyway.

“Point taken,” he gives in.

The walk back to their subway station is silent, a little less comfortable than usual when they’re both painfully aware that Hange’s now thinking about their own financial issues —the unfortunate reason they even took this job and met Levi in the first place.

He looks around the industrial neighborhood they’re walking, and spots two long rusty metal pipes hanging out from a bin nearby. In a fit of renewed energy he didn’t suspect he could have, he rushes over there, grabs them —heavier than they look, but he knows they can both handle it— and throws one at Hange’s feet.

“Here you go, Sir Hange Zoë,” he declares, feeling absolutely ridiculous as he stands in what he hopes looks like a sword fighting position —he sure hopes Hange will give him a break, it’s not like he has a wide frame of reference for this. “Fight me.”

They chortle, the sound immediately brightening the mood —and Levi’s day.

“You don’t have to do this, Levi. You were right, it’s kind of childish.”

He frowns and charges, hitting their shin lightly with his shabby weapon. Hange’s eyebrows shoot up on their forehead, and he can tell they’re slowly giving in.

“Levi! You can’t attack a defenseless maiden, that’s not gentleman-y at all!”

“You’re not a maiden, dumbass. And who said I’m a gentleman?”

Next time he lunges, they block the blow thanks to their own pipe and send him stumbling back —with a force that would surprise anyone else considering how lanky they look in their baggy clothes, and a fire in their eyes that would no doubt freak them out too. Levi, however, has known for months now that the tall nerdy weirdo look is only a mask hiding a fierce, passionate kid who might just be the strongest person he’s ever met —in more ways than one.

Sadly, they’re also much more —how did they put it again? Oh, right— enthusiastic about the whole fighting thing than he’d foreseen, and he soon finds himself having an actual hard time holding them off. One of their well placed hits shatters the pipe he was holding in his hold, and he thanks his lucky star that the combat has to end as he puts both hands up.

“Alright, I yield! You’re right, Four Eyes, you would have made a great knight.”

“Thank you!” they reply with a wink and a graceless curtsy.

Hange throws their pipe back into the trash can, before holding out their hand to ask for the some of the hand gel Levi’s already rubbing on his palms. He throws them a disapproving look, more for show than anything else, and gives them some —really, he’s kind of excited that they’re finally getting some of his neat freak habits, as they always call them.

“So, I won, right?” they ask him when they start walking again.

“Tch, I guess you did,” he grants them, not up to point out how questionable that statement is when really, breaking your opponent’s weapon has to be against the rules, right?

“Then my prize is... that you have to watch the next season with me!”

He spends the rest of the walk and the three subway stations they share trying to get out of that commitment.

Sosuke watched you with curious eyes as you kept glancing at your phone, smiling to yourself. Sometimes you would giggle, but put your phone back as you went back to the novel you were reading.

The two of you had an evening together - a night where you enjoyed each other's company but occupied yourself separately with your own individual hobbies. You were catching up on the many books you purchased over the years, while Sosuke was editing a manuscript for a peer-reviewed journal.

It was overall, a quiet, uneventful night, but Sosuke was amused by how often you kept glancing at your phone every time it lit up.

Sosuke leaned back in his seat as he placed his glasses on the table. Your phone lit up again, and another smile crept up across your lips.

"How far along are you with your book?" Sosuke asked, chuckling as you slightly jumped in your seat.

"Oh! Um… not that far along." You answered, sheepishly.

"I can see that. You seem more interested in your phone." Sosuke replied, keeping an even tone to his voice, although he was curious as to what was grabbing your attention. He fully closed his laptop as he saw your expression change to a guilty one.

Whenever Sosuke had his glasses off, you felt a bit nervous. His gaze was intense, and you knew he could read you so easily. Lying to him wasn't something you made a habit of, but this was so innocuous, you thought.

"It's nothing, Sosuke! Just a friend sending me memes." You explained. Another smile appeared on your face as you suddenly remembered sharing memes with Sosuke the first time in the early stages of your relationship. He didn't have social media, so funny tweets, animal videos and bizarre TikTok's and Instagram reels were beyond him, but something he appreciated that you shared with him.

At the same time, you felt that he was above memes, so you didn't try to send or share him as many. Your time with Sosuke was precious and you didn't want to fill it with small things like that.

"I doubt it's nothing if you keep checking your phone." Sosuke rationalized. He wasn't angry in the slightest, but he was amused by how jittery you were in your response.

"Honestly! It's just something silly my colleague sent me. It would be a waste of your time. You have better things to do." You answered honestly, glancing back at your phone.

A frown appeared on Sosuke's face as he walked towards you, sitting next to you on the couch. "I'm not saying this because I'm jealous" he explained, as he gently placed his hand on your thigh, "I don't want you to feel you need to hide things from me because you think it isn't worth my time. I love knowing what's making you happy. Besides me of course."

You chuckled, climbing into his lap. His arms instinctively wrapped themselves around your hips. "Ok, since you asked, Sosuke - and don't say I didn't warn you!" As you pulled up the video.

Sosuke shifted you around his lap, with your back towards him. You pulled the conversation you had with your friend, and the youtube video you two were referencing.

Sosuke watched the video play out on the small screen, with occasional glances at you. He could see your soft smiles and little giggles as the video played through. Your laughter was infectious, and the video's contents were amusing he had to admit. Sosuke let out a small laugh as the video kept going.

Once the video was over, you turned around to face him, "so… what do you think?" You asked.

i get to interact with passionate writers who love their muse to the heavens above!! i genuinely love seeing that on my dash because it inspires me to write when i'm suffering from writer's block and it also helps boost my creativity ^^

i think my writing got better?? ngl i'm still trying to find my own writing style and be flexible about it but i'm just glad most of my moots like the way i write since that's like my number one struggle when portraying frost

i like that you mutuals are really patient with me!! even when i'm gone for long periods of time due to my personal life and i haven't replied to a thread or a ask. that takes the pressure off my shoulders A LOT so i thank you all because my writing really does flow better when i take my time ♡

the amount of engagement i get when people send anons or my mutuals sending IC one-liners from prompt/meme and leaving a nice comment to brighten up my day on a OOC post. little things like that make me twice as excited to roleplay on here

the best thing about my year was that more people wanted to interact with my version of KF even when she strayed away from canon. it's good to see everyone here is open to my interpretation of frost without being too judgemental about it because i changed certain things in her canon that didn't suit my taste as much. oh, and the fact nobody takes it personally when frost is being a total asshole because i always worry about offending someone irl but i'm 100% glad that never happened 😭😭

This show was beloved by many on the still budding hellsite and beyond! It was the show du jur, the universal blorbo. It was the hottest thing and everybody watched it! Nowadays, you will find but ruins of its former glory but I was there, Anon. I saw it with my own two eyes.

The show itself was about two brothers, Sam and Dean, held together by bonds of trauma formed through shared hardship, who would go on adventures and defeat evils for the good of humanity. Until...

Dean, beloved older brother and sweetheart of many on the internet, perished. The circumstances are irrelevant but oh, was it tragic. Fangirls wept across the planet as one and nobody knew what was going to happen.

But, oh! A sudden change in direction! All of a sudden, Dean was being pulled up by an angelic hand, resurrected like Jesus before him! An impact so strong, so intense it left a permanent mark on his body which the writers never forgot about, ever! Dean Winchester was reborn and all rejoiced for it was Right.

But whoever was the mysterious being that had gripped him tight and raised him from perdition? It didn't take long for the show to explore this and oh my, did it get explored! The answer, of course, was Castiel, and angel of the lord who would henceforth devote himself to Dean and only Dean.

Thus, Destiel was born.

On another platform though, the well respected and important LiveJournal, there were Things abrewing. One of the many things prevalent in the Supernatural (or SPN for short) fandom was the RPF.

As you may know, or you might not, RPF stands for Real Person Fiction, it is similar to the traditional fanfiction but with "characters" who are not characters at all but based on human beings. Despite this, it occasionally features fantastical elements, AUs and other such things.

One user on what we used to call a "kink meme", a place for fans to inspire each other by pawning off ideas, suggested a very particular such RPF. The result took elements from existing tropes such as the heat fic, a longstanding gift from the house of Star Trek, as well as (alleged) wolf behaviour as described in one singular study.

The unholy concoction we were gifted that day is now known as Omegaverse or ABO. Within this trope, there are additional axes to the gender spectrum - but not in a fun, non-binary way! Rather, all humans will fall strictly into one of three categories: Alpha, Beta and Omega.

Alphas are strong and dominant. They can impregnate people regardless of agab and go into ruts. They also have a 💦knot💦 that will fix their penis in a hole after they come.

Omegas are weaker, more pliant. They can become pregnant, once again regardless of agab, and go into 🥵heats🥵 at certain intervals. An omega's heat is what causes an Alpha's rut.

And Betas... well, they're normies, basically. You're a beta 🤷‍♂️

The most common form of ABO fanfic tends to involve the desired characters being an Alpha and an Omega, the Omega going into heat and the Alpha... helping them with it, if you know what I mean 😏

Since the trope makes it so cismale characters can get pregnant (ABO predates the rise of commonly accepted trans headcanons) the community has, of course, attracted many breeding kinksters such as myself. I've seen surprisingly few Omegaverse kidfics tho which is a pleasant thing for me considering I hate kidfics.

And since ABO originated in the SPN fandom (more or less) it is quite popular within it. And before I get a billion asks: yes, there are many other ways to achieve mpreg (male pregnancy) in your blorbos such as oviposition or simply making the character in question trans, but since ABO is the most common Watsonian cause of specifically spn mpreg, I figured I'd focus my reply on that.

Their names do not deserve to be dragged around on a post where you are in a completely one-sided beef with me.

I removed the link to your masterlist because I no longer felt comfortable sending readers your way. While the quality of your stories has not changed, I take the whole presence of an author into consideration. You asked me to see you as a person not a product and this is me doing that. Reading over your asks about the "cringe anon" (even once corrected that it was not about me) still left me saddened to see you joining the askers in making fun of someone's assumed talents, spelling, and denigrating "hoes" when here we are reading stories celebrating people who sleep around. These are not attitudes I wish to expose my readers to in the service of sending them to a story they might like.

From the very beginning of my reaching out to you as a consideration once I was aware you would like to know you have been spoken of positively, you have been wrong about my motives every single time. I will not go into the multiple reasons why I actively choose not to ping writers because you have not seemed open to listening that there could be a reason for my decision equally grounded in being respectful to writers.

I really liked the stories of yours that I had read but will now never be returning to. You lost a reblogging fics with multiple paragraphs reader enthusiastic about your writing over the aggressive way you have spoken to and about me. Please know that despite this I still sincerely wish you well although I am no longer among your followers.

I still feel like we're missing the point here. I asked for basic respect for all authors on that post regarding properly tagging us beside links showcasing our own writing. At this point, NONE of those authors have yet to be tagged, so I doubt they're being "dragged around" as you've so put it here. My bet is three quarters on the list don't even have a clue about what's going on, and I bet most of them would agree with me about appreciating a tag beside their hard work.

Taking the whole presence of the author is completely valid. I understand that. Like I said before, I asked to be seen as a person through a proper tag, and explained my reasonings why on your post. I'll reiterate them here. Oh wait, I explicitly stated being seen as a person vs. a product on this post: Why You Should Tag Authors in Your Fic Rec Posts. A general post, not aimed at you, but as a general callout to people who don't tag authors in their fic rec posts. I'm sorry you believed that was directed at you, but honestly, at this point... if the shoe fits, don't wear it.

Additionally, I never once thought, implied, or suggested you were being the 'cringe anon'. You were the first person to bring that up, to which I replied to immediately both to your original comment, and with a post. I feel like it's also important to mention that this is my blog. If I get a rude anon telling me that my writing is "cringe" and then another anon following it up by calling ME a "dumbass hoe", I have every right to reply to it in a manner that I see fit. Never once has a conversation been opened by either or us, and I do take accountability for myself for not reaching out, to discuss why you won't give the basic curtesy of tagging authors in your fic rec post. I just assumed it was such a basic thing, that I didn't think such an issue would arise from it. To me, it takes the same amount of time to add a comment tagging me to a post my own writing is linked on, as it does to actually tag me properly in said post. Then again, I actually think making a comment is more time consuming, especially when the post already exists and is already formatted.

I truly don't understand what's so difficult about adding an @ in front of an author's username. Yet, here we are. All this says to me is, "I don't want to tell writers I'm sharing their work, fuck letting them have this sort of feedback." It's even stranger when I know you had no issues previously reblogging my fics and adding beautiful paragraphs of feedback to them. I guess tagging on a fic rec post is too difficult. Oh, well.

We started out playing Curse of Strahd, but it's kind of mutated from there. The party pissed off a night hag who is now making two of the party members collect souls for her as reparations, adopted a gate guard, created a power vacuum by killing both major political leaders and started a peasant revolt in the main hub town, "rescued" a flesh golem and left her to her own devices in the forest, may or may not have lit an abbey on fire, melted a pack of werewolves with acid, lost a party member who they are now seeking (the irl player had other commitments lol), went into a Bag of Holding to fight the Bag Man, and are currently investigating a spider cult who are a splinter faction of the canonical demon cult they stopped before the plot could unfold. It's been a wild ride. - I always type "DRAFT" on replies I save for later in case I accidentally post them.

EXPERIENCE

HOW LONG - Since I was around 12-ish? So nearly 18 years.

WHAT PLATFORMS - Neopets, an ancient Nightmare Before Christmas fan site, GaiaOnline, Facebook DMs, DeviantArt, Skype, Tumblr, and Discord. Pretty much just those last two these days.

BEST EXPERIENCE - If I could be sappy for a moment, it was probably meeting my partner (and many friends besides!) through Tumblr RP. But if we want something more specific, I was part of that giant vampire story that @dreamsofalife mentioned in her meme (x); I was the guy whose head got cut off and came back as a robot. Also worth mentioning was a big thread I did with an old pal, where their muse was turned into a swan via Magic Anon, and they decided the anon (now known as Greyfellow) would take his place as his doppelganger and try to take over the kingdom. Shenanigans ensued, a parrot trapped my muse in a pantry and lit the kitchen on fire, the Queen almost had her soul sucked out-- good times.

lack of respect for female characters both canon and oc. i can't say enough that female muses deserve to be seen. especially poc female muses.

white washing. as a poc person, i have dealt with a lot of racism both irl and on tumblr. it was to a point i took two years off of this hellsite. so do not change a poc character into a white one. we've been erased as it is. and if you struggle trying to match a character to its race, do not feel afraid to ask someone for help on it. there are also websites that show you an fc's ethnicity as well.

not knowing where the line is between mun and muse. they are two completely different things.

god modding. for the love of all that is chuck, do not control what anyone else's character does. we all control our own characters and that's how it should be. this also means doing something crazy that someone else may not approve of so if you want to do something, ask first.

demanding people read your rules, but you don't do the same. everyone has different rules for each of their blogs. respect goes both ways. so if they read your rules, please do the same. they are there for a reason.

force ship, simple as that

rushing people to reply and shaming them when they don't reply fast enough. everyone has real lives and can't always get to it. or maybe they don't just have muse for it and need time away from it. now a simple nudge to let someone know they replied maybe weeks later just in case they missed it is fine. but if you're going to put pressure on people? stop.

using mental health as an excuse to be a shitty person. many people here suffer with different kinds of disorders and that is no one's fault. but that does not mean it's a pass to be a horrible person. you choose how to treat people around you. you choose whether or not to be a kind person.

Plots or Memes: i love memes that inspire plotting. cause as much as i love plotting, sometimes i don't know what i actually want. unless a plot randomly hits me out of nowhere.

A Question, or "Searching for Sensitive Solutions"

Okay so my question is going under a "Read More" because I need to explain around it a little but, and also because the question itself is... spicy... in the rhetorical, not sexual/kinky sense. Thoughts, input and advice regarding it are free to come in via replies, or via Asks (either anon or not). I've disabled reblogs. Anyway -

For context and psychological background, I'm an AMAB person who presents to 99% of the world as a man. Most of the world addresses me by male pronouns, treat me as they would a man (I get taken more seriously by doctors for no good GD reason, my ideas have more weight in general despite never asking for that, etc etc, you all know what the package looks like), and for most of my life that was never even a thing. I spent some time and energy questioning my gender, and thought the answer to the question was "no." But, it turns out I was asking the wrong question that whole time. I should have been asking "am I the man (i.e. the gender) I've been told I am?" instead of "am I a woman?" There's more than just the two options.

I've also got my share of psychological issues. I won't go into why, but there's a fair amount of rejection sensitivity (the most relevant Dx to this conversation), PTSD (of the traditional and "c" varieties), anxiety, depression, etc. Yes, I have meds. Yes, I was in counseling. No, I'm not in it right now for insurance reasons (insert "America is a healthcare dystopia" memes here). I place a high premium on not burdening others with my issues, but I mention them so you can understand things better. Anyway, on to the actual question.

One of the most frequent things that I see (and bearing in mind I understand sampling bias and selective memory here), in bios or pinned comments or whatever, is some form of "Men do not interact." Now, that's a perfectly valid boundary to assert. I also understand why people (mostly women) assert it. I get it and I'm not saying don't do it, or they shouldn't do it, or that I am in any way shaming or whatever anyone who does - no, none of that is the case. What I am seeking, is advice on how I can better frame and respond to that, so it doesn't make me feel shitty (or less shitty) and in this semi-rejected liminal space. So, how do I do that? Let me elaborate on the precise situation (see? There's a reason I put this under a Read More).

My thought process generally goes something like this: "Oh, men don't interact? Well I'm not a man I'm enby so-" "Yeah but if they saw a picture of you they'd disagree. Society sees you as a man. You were raised as a man. You dress as a man. Come on, be honest with yourself here." "I do those things because they were forced on me at such an early age that I don't know how to stop doing them. I've never actually wanted to do any of them and they don't make me feel good, they never have. There's a reason I identify as enby-" "You're way too masc for them and honestly you're being one of those men for even wanting to stay and disrespecting their clearly-asserted boundary." "They are probably an SA victim so how dare you prioritize wanting to have this particular person in your social media circle above their psychological well-being, because seeing you would likely be triggering for them so you need to leave." "Well but being told to get out sight unseen is triggering fo--" "THAT'S NOT THE SAME" "But I... okay."

And, well... yeah. I know that the rejection sensitivity is not rational. I realize it is an overreaction, caused by having to deal with a lifetime of rejection and undermining of my sense of self and self-worth, and that none of those things are the doing of that random person on social media. They are just clearly asserting a boundary, generally for their own mental health and well-being. Also, replies that tell me that the above thought process is wrong, are not helpful. First, I already know that. Second, I present the thought process not for your critical discoursal review, but because that's what the voices in my head say in the moment and sometimes that something isn't the prettiest, cleanest, most acceptable form of a given argument, and I want you to have an honest insight into that before moving on.

So, what I am looking for is a more sensitive mental model, a way to look at it or frame it or respond to it that both preserves their mental well-being and my mental well-being. The things that immediately jumped to mind are ways to avoid seeing it at all, and those essentially consist of blocking blogs that have that DNI in the bio because every interaction would be a replay of the above conversation. However, it occurs to me that regardless of any practical or social implications (which are significant), and regardless of my wanting to reach as wide an audience as possible with some of my content (the safety/consent stuff) and that working against that goal... it also has a psychological down side. That is basically me actively rejecting them pre-emptively. I know that they likely have no interest in my accepting them, especially, but it's more the personal implications of casually rejecting people that I take issue with. It's precisely that kind of attitude, one that casually says "nope, you're wrong for me" and permanently excises a person from your life after reading three lines of text about them, that really triggers my rejection sensitivity. So, I don't want to be performing those same triggering actions routinely unto others, even if they'd not have the same (or any) effect, because of the splash-back effect that it would have on me. I reserve blocking for fairly serious or egregious stuff.

Anyway, what's a person to do? I don't like seeing that time and time and time again and having that dialogue play out in my mind where I have to interrogate my own gender, and whether I'm "enby enough" to interact with a given person. I also don't like blocking people for no (good) reason. I'd like better options, but I'm at a loss for them right now.

ROLEPLAY PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS:

- Lack of Communication. As someone with autism, it's important that we have a good communication basis! Especially if you have a concept or a plan you'd like to experiment with. Do you need something? Please, come and talk with me!

- Romanticizing/Glorifying Dark Themes. As someone who writes for certain dark themes and draws from their own real-life experiences, there's nothing wrong with having writings and discussions around these topics (One of the most well-loved pieces from me explores various dark topics.) but I refuse to glorify and romanticize them. Especially when it comes to topics like abuse, harassment, or assault. And if I catch you romanticizing these themes, that is a hard block. And please don't try to justify or defend it, that's disgusting.

MUSE PREFERENCES: I'm down for any and every kind of dynamic... but my favorite muse preferences are the hot and cold muses who are opposing in every way, they're so different from one another. I'm also a big fan of different kinds of romantic and platonic relationships! They can be the most normal couple or the very essence of toxic yaoi/yuri, but as long as there's chemistry and chances for their relationship to develop and grow... I'm in! Love a good enemies-to-lovers dynamic...

PLOT VS MEMES: BOTHHHHH. Good god, I love shitposts and memes a ton. I love being able to have a good laugh, and some of the best shitposts come from plot-based interactions. It makes for a good mix of serious writing and lighthearted fun... and sometimes meme-ing on people somehow becomes canon lore. As long as we're having fun, who cares, right?

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Oh... hmm. Honestly? I don't mind either. I'm someone who loves a good amount of detail and interest in my stories and my roleplays, but I also understand that fatigue and burnout hit really easily so... anything works! I typically have a more medium length to my responses but... whatever works for you works for me!

yes seviper and zangoose do have that!! i’ve been referencing pokédex entries when coming up with behaviors and whatnot (hence the explanation for houndour’s flash fire ability) so that everything makes sense with lore and all!! lots of research being done TRUST i have like a map of kalos pulled up and i always check to see if pokémon are even found in the region or not (unfortunately joltik/galvantula isn’t found in kalos EXCEPT in the friend safari so i might have reader capture it during the arc where they’re all with hiori since that ends up being kinda safari-zone related??
