My mom gave me covid for Christmas (likely before the holiday, when I was mailing her holiday baking for her because she has physical limitations that mean she can’t do it herself), but she also gave me the first four volumes of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun because she read the title instead of the plot summary and decided it sounded like the least objectionable thing on my wish list, so I forgive her for the covid thing

so anyway, Mo Ran is the most hilarious narrator I’ve encountered recently. It is sort of confusing to be laughing so much because I decided to read 2ha after being promised that the novel is really fucked up, but seriously, he is such a shit and it’s SO funny, spending an entire scene referring to Cheng Da as “Big Intestine-gongzi” destroyed me

Well my dad's dead and we've got some weird drama going on with my mom rn, so we don't have anything planned for her for Xmas (usually would do a family xmas meal in the general vicinity of Christmas with her side of the family, but that grandma's in on the drama on my mom's side, so that's not happening)

Which means this is the first Christmas season I'll be spending without Either of my parents. At all.

ways my emotional support cat has emotionally supported me thus far:

-got the zoomies while I was crying and distracted me by being fucking goofy

-found a bottle of Lexapro that had rolled under my bed (after he knocked it off my nightstand, but he did find it)

-crawled up on my shoulders like a parrot, preventing me from getting any work done (benefit unclear), pic related

-whined like a little baby when I wouldn't let him bite my face (???)

-REFUSES to let me piss without supervision (the bathroom door doesn't close all the way sometimes and he just bonks into it until it opens)

-forces me to get out of bed and bothers me relentlessly when I don't (this one actually is really helpful)

cats crying out in the living room because she wants to go out, my dad is in the living room on the other side of the wall from the bunkbed saying she wants to go out, i say to not let her out and have told my mom before that i have paranoia about the cat being out at night because we've had a cat dissappear at night before when i was still in elementary school

my mom somehow hears only me talking and not my dad and doesnt get im talking to someone else and gets up and goes into the living room, hears from my dad that the cat wants out, and lets her out at 11pm. she comes back in the room and blames me?for waking her up?and says to just let the cat out myself instead of waking her up to do it. i want to move out.
