I think the reason why you often see more game/show/movie announcements for a random Marvel character you never heard of where DC primarily focuses on Batman and Batman related characters is because...Marvel built more trust with the obscure.
All the way back when they started the MCU, Marvel didn't have the rights to its more iconic, recognizable, and, more important, marketable characters. Spider-Man went to Sony, X-Men and Fantastic Four went to Fox, and even the Hulk was technically owned Universal. By the time the MCU was being conceived, Marvel only had its C-listers and D-listers. No one even HEARD of characters like Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and ESPECIALLY the Guardians of the Galaxy before the MCU. Even characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, characters considered Marvel's big three nowadays, characters who the MCU relied on, weren't as huge as DC's big three. Meanwhile, DC had access to ALL of its characters, relying on its most recognizable IPs like Batman and Superman...And, oh yeah, I guess Wonder Woman was there too...Sometimes.
But the biggest seller was always Batman. Because how could he not be? He looked cool, he had an impressive rogues gallery to make toys of, and is everything for DC as Spider-Man was to Marvel. Both Batman and Spider-Man could sell anything. But Marvel technically didn't have the FULL rights to Spider-Man and DC...didn't bother with its other characters. Batman made bank with his videogames, movies, and TV shows to the point where they could sell a Gotham prequel series to Fox and STILL make a lot of cash. Why bother making a movie about Aquaman or The Flash when it likely won't sell as well as BATMAN. Sure, you got a Green Arrow TV show on the same network as a Superman prequel series, but that didn't change how most of DC's other projects weren't connected to Batman in someway.
Teen Titans was a show that starred Robin, Batman's sidekick. Same with Young Justice. And the only time kids got introduced to other DC characters, it was for a campy show like Batman: The Brave and the Bold where BATMAN teamed up with a hero a week. Which would have been a smart way to bring other characters into the light, but it's still connected strictly through BATMAN. Even now, DC has what is best described as a Batman problem. The Flash was a movie that featured two versions of Batman, one of them bringing in nostalgia through a past Batman movie instead of focusing on an old Flash product. And with the last few years, the only video games were Batman related, with Gotham Knights starring Batman's sidekicks and that Suicide Squad game starring Harley Quinn, a BATMAN villain who goes to kill BATMAN that's actually the same BATMAN from an old BATMAN game.
And yeah...I love Batman. We ALL love Batman. He's the coolest character ever conceived and it's the easiest thing in the world to make a movie about him. It might not be a GOOD movie sometimes, but it's at least a movie that'll make billions. But with this over-saturation of Batman, it left DC unsure if they can make anything big WITHOUT him. Because how can they be sure it'll succeed without their signature character that gave them a shitload of money?
But let's go back to Marvel. Starting a cinematic universe without their most popular IPs was a risk. They SORT of had the rights to the Hulk, but...there was no way Hulk would have made more money than a Spider-Man movie. If they wanted to make a successful franchise, Marvel had to put more faith in its other characters, allowing to make good movies and hope that enough people would be interested to see more. And...it worked. Iron Man was a hit, Thor and Captain America got people interest, and the big pay off was the box office smash that was The Avengers. Everyone started to know these characters and it didn't stop there. Guardians of the Galaxy became popular enough to be another big franchise for Marvel, Black Panther became the most popular Black superhero after Blade (another Marvel character), and people were left BEGGING for Spider-Man and the X-Men to join this universe so they could see their old favorites interact with their NEW favorites. And that just...never stopped. Marvel kept pushing more and more characters to the spotlight, with it paying it off for them.
Before 2014, NO ONE would consider buying a Guardians of the Galaxy game. But due to the MCU's revamping of those characters, it was enough to make people willing to do so. And in a few years, we're getting games based on Iron Man, Captain America and Black Panther, and JUST Black Panther, all because the Marvel had enough faith to turn this C-listers into A-listers. As for TV shows, we've got connected MCU stuff like Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, but also a really good and imaginative cartoon with Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Now, to be fair, it's not paying off for Marvel, especially with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels causing the studio to lose bank. They're even thinking about cutting back on riskier stuff and focusing on their bigger franchises. Which...honestly sounds dumb to me not only because the MCU was founded on taking risks, but also because DC is exactly what you get when you focus on JUST the money makers. We're still getting nothing but Batman and Batman related characters or movies/universes that references nothing but Batman. To the point where I just want DC to retire Batman for a year, maybe TWO tops. Marvel proved that you can make a hit if you let other characters than the most marketable one. Even if it fails like The Marvels did, it's not because Captain Marvel isn't as iconic as Iron Man, it's because the movie wasn't as well-written enough. It was a fun time, sure, but not as strongly written as other MCU films. And that's what DC needs to learn and Marvel to remember: It's not about who's the most popular, it's about strong writing.
Hopefully we get more attention on lesser-known Marvel and DC characters in the future.

Earth-18104 - 1990
Events that occurred in the year 1990, when the Avengers first appeared as a group of super heroes.
The stories are not complete or are summarized, and are inspired by other medias, like the movies, comics and series, but don't follow Marvel Canon or the time-line established so faithfully, and include stories of my OCs.
The (N) at the end of names serves to indicate character births and the numbers are their ages. I will include more events as I write more about the characters.
The Battle of New York, the event that marks the first apparition of the Avengers, is just a resume, I will put the whole thing in another post.
(Some characters have different stories from the comics. Dr. Octavius is a woman in this universe, and we got 2 versions of Nick Fury: Sr., who is part of the Howling Commandos, and is like the version of the comics; and Jr., who is the director of SHIELD and is inspired by the MCU version or Marcus Jonhson, the comic character)
List of Events of Earth-18104 (Resume)
Tw: Mention of suicide very early on.
1990 -
• (February)
• After failling to commit suicide, Wade Wilson (18) was invited by Francine Cavalcante (182) and Tereza Márquez (175) OC, heads of Sister Margaret's Home, where he was raised, to go back and join a clandestine group of mercenary assassins.
• Frank Castle (34) and his wife had a happy life together living in New York City. At some point he then went abroad and returned to meet his second son, Frank Castle, Jr. for the first time, discovering that he was already walking.
• Flint Marko (31) marries Alma Alvarado and shortly afterwards the two have a daughter, Keemia. (N)
• Patsy Walker (23) had a brief career as a model and married her childhood friend, Robert "Buzz" Baxter, who was on her old childhood show. After her marriage, Patsy spent the next few years of her life on Air Force bases as her husband was in the officer training program.
• Greer Grant's husband, William Nelson, was seriously injured during a police raid, dying in his wife's arms.
• Now alone, Greer (30) was unable to stay in her old home and moved into the apartment of an old friend, Dr. Joanne Tumolo, a university professor.
• During a physical examination, the doctor noticed some unusual bruising and lumps on Warren Worthington's (15) back.
• Worried that he might be removed from school if his parents thought he was being mistreated, Warren lied that he had injured himself during jumping practice.
• He kept the bruises a secret, in addition to the pain in his back that little by little began to get worse.
• One day, Warren woke up with severe pain and found a white feather in his bed. Over the next weeks, more feathers appeared and his pain increased, but he refused to go to the hospital, as his friends had suggested.
• (Earth's mightiest heroes)
• (April 1, Sunday)
• On earth, Nick Fury Jr (42), Maria Hill (25), Barbara Morse (24), Clint Barton (24), Phil Coulson (43), Henry Pym (27), Janet van Dyne (24) and Erik Selvig are called to the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility in the Mojave Desert, where Dr. Selvig is researching the Tesseract, which has recently begun emitting strange amounts of energy on its own, leading the facility to be evacuated.
• Aided by Thanos, Loki, the god of mischief, activates the Tesseract from within the Sanctuary, teleporting to the SHIELD complex.
• She steals the Tesseract and uses the Scepter given to her by Thanos to control the minds of several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, including Selvig and Barton.
• They escape and the Tesseract's energy destroys the base, starting the Chitauri Invasion. In response, Nick Fury Jr. reactivates the Avengers Initiative.
• In Asgard, Heimdall sees Loki on Earth with the Tesseract, and informs Thor and Odin, who sends his sons Tyr, Vidar, Honir, Balder and Thor to Earth to bring Loki back to Asgard for punishment.
• (April 5)
• The Battle of New York happens after Loki opened a portal to allow the Chitauri Army to invade Earth. The Avengers, Fantastic Four and other superhumans teamed up to protect the planet.
• After the Battle, the Avengers were recognized as "Earth's mightiest heroes".
• (Details of the Battle)
• After his return to the modern world as a renowned hero, Steve Rogers (70) is chosen to be the face of many campaigns.
• One, not long after the Battle of New York, includes a set of videos for students in schools. He films many videos, including a fitness challenge, a video for students in detention, and another on the importance of patience.
• Peter Parker (9) tells his classmates that he was saved by Captain America, but no one believes him, until Harry Osborn defends him, saying that he also saw Cap and the Wasp.
• (Wasp and Ant-Man vs. Egghead)
• Deciding to increase his powers to be more useful to the Avengers, Henry Pym (27) designed a growth formula. In one of his tests, he accidentally destroys the house's roof, scaring one of his neighbors.
• Maria Trovaya arrives and helps him free himself from the house. Henry explains that he was testing his new size-changing capsules. Giving her a demonstration, Pym grows to the height of 12 feet.
• Maria takes one of the pills and shrinks it to the size of a wasp and lands on Henry's finger. Bringing his girlfriend back to normal, Henry jokes that she would make a great partner.
• Maria smiles and then becomes serious as she remembers that he already has a partner, pointing to the window, where they can see Janet van Dyne (24) crossing her garden.
• Maria leaves irritated, leaving Henry to greet Janet. He takes her to her lab, saying he has a surprise for her: a new gun that shoots compressed air. Each "wasp sting" has enough power to knock over objects.
• In the kitchen, Maria angrily prepares food, throwing things across the counter with force while complaining to herself about the rich girl in her house.
• Meanwhile, Egghead, one of Ant-Man's new enemies, has decided that now is the time to launch his next attack against his nemesis. Using a transmitter implanted in a nearby anthill, he uses it to broadcast false messages about Ant-Man.
• Maria intercepts the transmitter signal and warns Pym and van Dyne, but refuses to join them.
• Deciding to get to the bottom of things, Pym, now calling himself Giant-Man, sends Wasp to locate Egghead and tells her not to attack him alone. However, when Wasp encounters the villain she is caught in his mind control and returns to attack Pym, while Egghead watches from a monitor in his hideout.
• Hiring a gang of thugs, Egghead plans a robbery, starting by calling the police and informing them about the battle between Ant-Man and the Wasp.
• While the police are distracted by the battle in the east end of the city, Egghead plans to rob an armored car in the west end.
• Taking a rented truck, they quickly take the armored car off the road and load it into the back of their specially equipped truck. The police, Giant Man and Wasp soon realize that they have all been tricked.
• Using Ant-Man's spy ants to track Egghead's truck, the two heroes follow Egghead to his secret hideout near the docks. They stop Egghead and defeat his gang of crooks.
• With all the bandits reunited and their loot returned, the two heroes return to Pym's house.
• (July)
• The Avengers helped the United States military recover a flying fortress that was stolen by Victor Von Doom (27), who had escaped from his prison.
• Fighting aboard the ship, the Avengers managed to stop Doom from recovering his ship thanks in part to Giant-Man using his newly developed powers.
• While the aerial fortress was destroyed, the Avengers were unable to capture Doom, who actually sent one of his Doombots to capture the fortress for him.
• (X-Men - Iceman)
• Bobby Drake (12) continued to train in using his powers.
• Upon discovering that his classmate Judy Harmon liked him, Bobby was convinced by his friend Tommy to invite her to the movies during Halloween, even if just to become friends, as he didn't reciprocate her feelings.
• When the movie ended, Bobby and Judy separated from their friends and were confronted by the school bully, Rocky Beasely and his gang. Fearing for Judy's safety, Bobby used his mutant powers to freeze Rocky in a block of ice, trapping him from the waist down.
• Horrified by what happened, the boys, Tommy and Judy fled the scene, leaving Rocky behind. Bobby tried to free the boy, but he had never tried to unfreeze objects; so he ran home to tell what had happened.
• Not long after, the local sheriff showed up to take Bobby into police custody. Believing he would get a fair trial, Bobby surrendered to the police. When the story hit the news, Professor Xavier and Scott went to visit Bobby to invite him to join their group.
• With the help of Fred Duncan, Xavier managed to meet with Bobby, but the boy refused to join him, shouting for Xavier to leave. His attitude irritated Scott and the two began to fight.
• Xavier separated the two and promised Bobby that he would use his powers to erase the incident from the memory of everyone in the city, showing that a mob angry with Bobby was forming outside the prison.
• Bobby asked Xavier to make sure Rocky and Judy weren't hurt and agreed to join his school. Xavier fulfilled his part of the deal and talked to Bobby's parents who at first didn't want to send him to Westchester, but in the end agreed to keep their son safe.
• Upon arriving at the Graymalkin residence, the first thing Bobby did was use his powers, happy to finally be somewhere where he could be himself.
• (The disappearance of Kevin Brashear)
• Kevin (20) and Adam Brashear (64), the former hero Blue Marvel, were on a mission together. They tracked Dr. Skorpion to Giza, where the villain planned to open a portal to another dimension, the Neutral Zone.
• However, if the portal remained open much longer, the feedback would destroy this dimension, and that was Skorpion's plan.
• Kevin attacked Skorpion and made him fall against the console that controlled the portal, randomly pressing buttons and causing a short circuit in the system.
• The portal expanded and transported Kevin to the Neutral Zone. Adam tried to reach the portal, but the difference between his super-powered nature and that of the Neutral Zone prevented him from getting within six feet of it.
• As the portal was also becoming unstable, Adam had no choice but to destroy it.
• The loss of Kevin tore the Brashear family apart, and Adam spent years investigating the Neutral Zone trying to get his son back while his son Max (17) distanced himself from his family, asking never to be contacted again.
• (December)
• Jean Grey is taken by Xavier to Graymalkin Lane, where she lives with Bobby Drake and Scott Summers, starting her training as an X-Men with the codename Marvel Girl.

i love ur blog sm! i refresh every hour to see if theres anything new hehe
i was wondering what ur fav spiderman movie is?
:D thank you sm!!!
i love all of them for different reasons, so that's hard! if you don't know by now, mcu peter is my favorite peter, but i have issues with the mcu version of spidey i will refrain on.
i think spider-man 2 might be my favorite because it's a true testament to peter's character. he figures out that he needs a separation of himself and spider-man, and how much they rely on each other. if peter wasn't doing okay neither was spider-man, and i think that is such a big thing to see, because we always think of spider-man as the hero but it's always been peter.
i do love the amazing spider-man's tho!! i think the first one is where i really fell in love w spidey. mcu peter just offically sent me over the edge.
((i HATE the mj storyline raimi did so let's ignore those. pls n thanks. also tobey is my least fav peter. again. ignoring.))

I have a question about something that’s always confused and fascinated me, and I hope it doesn’t sound stupid😅 but how exactly do academies in the marvel universe work? I haven’t watched AOS or read the comics so my knowledge is limited to what I read on wiki page (which doesn’t say much) but with its purpose was to train recruits, so I just assumed it was something people go to after they finish high school/compulsory education?? So those who don’t have any prior experience like in intelligence or military all go to the academy? I loved how you created a rich story by bringing forward the everyday life of SHIELD agents, and there’s a part of me that really wants to read your vision of how shield academy works, if possible in the OC fic!!
Hi, nony!
There’s this marvel wiki that kind of sums it up. Idk if it’s the one you meant but, generally speaking, SHIELD’s academy is made up of 3 different “schools”- communications, operations, and science & technology. Seems to be generally based on the directorates of the CIA or other IC agencies that recruit/select applicants and then train them how to broadly work within the agency while also giving them specialized training for their role/field.
Using the CIA as a handy example, an applicant, let’s say for being a case or operations officer (spy), must meet certain requirements and pass a very thorough background check. You’ll train for about 18months and then be under a contract for 5yrs where you’ll mostly trot the globe cultivating assets, gathering intelligence, and being an unseen hero thwarting national security threats.
For my version of SHIELD, I considered a more detailed/varied number of schools than what’s given in the wiki or glossed over in the MCU/AOS. It only made sense that there would need to be more diversity under those 3 general umbrella academies. In my mind, everyone runs through a basic round of training in one of the 3 before beginning their assignment, where you learn SHIELD history, its mission and how to carry it out, as well as enough refining course work to prep you for the entry level position you were hired for. Once your regular assignment begins, more specialized training is provided by supervisors or senior staff. Continuing professional development happens via additional classes ranging from a few days to a week for most and some multi-week training opportunities as assigned or requested.
For Allison as an example, she would have attended the School of Operations before beginning her assignment in Clandestine Services as a language officer. In CS, she would learn from peers and through hands-on experience but also have the opportunity to attend lectures/seminars, conferences, or additional certification courses to become a more well-rounded intelligence officer and beef up her resume for any ambitions of supervision or, in her case, to get into the field. With enough experience and training, she could apply to the Agent Training Program that covers a variety of training areas from unarmed self defense to weapons to foreign policy and everything in between to make her a citizen of the world™. And of course, you’ve seen STRIKE run their own basic training for recruits to take all of the ground work that SHIELD has done and then hone you into a certified badass.
At least that’s how it works in my lil’ head. Hope that helped. And yes, there will be some mention about training for the OC characters too in that story.
#i hope that makes sense#how to be a shield agent#in a nutshell#you’ve got questions. i’ve got answers#asks & messages are always open

Steve Verses
Steve Rogers (MCU Version)
As you can guess, this version closely follows the events of Captain America in the MCU. I don’t see a point in writing out the summary of those events. I would assume if your here you have seen the movies. If you need a refresher: https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Steve_Rogers
After Endgame, Steve went back in time to start a life with Peggy Carter. He traveled to 1950, a year after World War II ended. When he arrived at her door she was overjoyed to see that he was alive. The two have a tearful reunion and they finally have their dance.
There was one surprise thought, Peggy had a daughter now. Peggy had gotten pregnant toward the end of the war by Steve. He had no idea that the night they had spent together had caused her to become pregnant. If he had known he wouldn’t have crashed the plane which caused him to be frozen.
Anyways, Steve takes time to get know his daughter, Amy, and helps to raise her. Steve and Amy are inseperable. Amy adored Steve. As time goes on she grew to see him as both a friend and mentor. Meanwhile, Steve also learned more about Peggy and fell deeper in love with her. He supported her in her success with her career and would occasionally help with a case if asked to. Yet Steve, for the most part, stayed away from hero work. He decided to volunteer for different jobs in town and mostly be a stay at home Dad to his daughter. Steve and Peggy got married after a year of dating. A few years later they have another daughter.
Steve and his family lived long enough to make it to the modern day era (2000s and so forth). Steve does not age due to the serum and because he doesn't age in the comics. His children stop ageing at a certain point as well and Peggy is left being the only one to truly grow old. When Peggy lost her memory and eventually die, it was incredibly hard on Steve but his children got him through it.
Hydra Steve
This version of Steve had grown up being primarily raised by Joseph Rogers (his father) instead of Sarah Rogers (his mother). In this version his mother had died in World War 1 working as a army nurse. This happened when Steve was a child. His father was an abusive acholic who took out his frustration and anger on his son. This impacted the person Steve had become as an adult. Instead of being a kind man with a good moral compass. Steve became a man filled with hate, pride and greed for power.
Steve was chosen by the general to be the one given the serum. The army decided to make him apart of the USO show instead of having fight within the war. Steve then began to question if fighting on their side was the best for him. He felt they were wasting his potential and that they had made him into a spectral, instead of a soilder. Steve sneaked onto a few missions and tried to prove himself to his commanding officers, yet each time he returned he was met with distaste and disciplinary action from the general. He was often reprimanded for his impulsiveness and lack of respect for authority. This fueled Steve`s rage and hate. It made him become violent and take out his anger on others. He was eventually kicked out of the army for his behavior. To make matters worse the general eventually decided to try to create a new super solider and the person they choose was Bucky. Bucky essentially became the new Captain America, which further pissed Steve off.
Eventually Steve decided to join Red Skull. Steve became Red Skull`s right hand man. He relied on Steve to get missions done no matter the cost. Often Steve`s methods were cruel and violent. The two had become close over the many years of working together, Steve saw Schmidt as another father figure. Red Skull and Steve often talked about their plans for Hydra`s future and strategies on how to get there. It had always been Schmidt`s intent to pass down Hydra to Steve if anything were to happen to him.

Sony’s Live-Action Spider-Verse Movies Need To Learn From James Gunn’s DCU

Sony’s Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is the latest release of their, various Spider-Man-themed properties. The movie is quite possibly one of the best comic book and Spider-Man movies ever! However, despite the success of Sony’s Spider-Verse movies, its other Spider-Man properties are struggling to be in any way successful. But now, with a new announcement of even more Spider-Man properties coming to live-action, Sony needs to take a page out to James Gunn’s DCU plans. Amy Pascal Confirms New Live-Action Spider-Man Movies At the premiere of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, producer Amy Pascal confirmed the development of additional Spider-Man properties into live-action. Pascal confirms that a live-action Miles Morales and Spider-Woman movie is in the works. But neither Pascal nor producer Avi Arad mentioned if the Spider-Woman or Miles Morales movies will be a continuation of Sony’s Spider-Verse movies or standalone reboots with those characters. Previously, Sony’s other Spider-Man-related properties included the two Venom movies, which earned quite respectably at the Box Office, along with Morbius, which did not. Venom has been so successful that there is a third film in development, and the movie was also referenced in an easter egg in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The less said about Morbius, the better. There Are More Of Sony’s Spider-Verse Movies In Live-Action Coming Up Along with those iffy standalone villain movies, some other Spider-Man-related properties are also coming up from Sony. Currently, there is the Kraven The Hunter movie with Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role. As well as a Madame Web movie starring Dakota Johnson as the spider-adjacent psychic character from the comics. We recently also got confirmation that Sidney Sweeney will play Spider-Woman in the Madam Webb movie. This is the Julia Carpenter version of the character from Marvel Comics, not the Jessica Drew version we saw in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse voiced by Issa Rae. It’s unsure which Spider-Woman the above-mentioned standalone movie will feature. How Will A Live-Action Miles Morales Fit Into This Spider-Man Universe What’s more interesting is that none of Sony’s existing Spider-Man properties are interconnected. Venom and Morris exist weirdly independently of one another, despite sharing mentions and easter eggs. Venom was partially brought into the MCU with the Marvel Studios’ collaboration in Spider-Man: No Way Home. And we’re still unsure if the Kraven and Madame Web movies will interconnect. So if Miles Morales does come into live-action, along with Spider-Woman, it will be the first Spider-themed hero movie coming from Sony independent of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies which are shared with Marvel Studios. So how will it all work? How will Miles exist in a universe where we already have a live-action Peter Parker struggling to reconcile his personal life with his superhero adventures, without it feeling repetitive? I have thoughts. Sony’s Spider-Verse Movies Need To Look To James Gunn’s DCU Miles and Peter can both coexist in Sony’s Spider-Verse movies’ universe. Especially given that the DCU is going to do something similar with Batman. In James Gunn’s new DCU, there will be an Elseworlds version of Batman played by Robert Pattinson in The Batman. This franchise will focus on a younger Batman learning to be a crime fighter. But Gunn has also announced The Brave And The Bold which will be in-canon and see a much older and experienced Batman, learning to be a father to his son as Robin. Given that the DCU can feature two versions of the same character, so can Sony’s Spider-Verse movies. Leaving Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies out of it, given that they are clearly in the MCU, Sony can retroactively create their own shared universe of Spider-Man characters. Since they’ve already set up a universe with multiple Spider-villains who all have origin stories independent of Spider-Man, it wouldn’t be difficult to make them the villains as a continuation to their previous Andrew Garfield Spider-Man franchise. To start with, anyways. Sony’s Spider-Verse Movies Need To Focus On Miles Miles Morales’ Spider-Man franchise could be the brand new universe where we see a younger Spider-Man build his own career as the prime Spider-Man of this universe. Along with his own villains, conflicts both internal and external and side characters who could then spin-off into their own adventure. Potentially. Essentially a brand new rebooted Spider-Man franchise, similar to Maguire’s and Garfield’s. This way Sony gets to do with a new Spider-Man what the MCU has done with Holland’s Spider-Man movies. While the way to unite all these separate, seemingly standalone villain movies, would be to bring back an older Spider-Man who has to team up with some of them as anti-heroes, and fight against others as full-on villains. There were already talks of Tobey or Andrew returning to their own Spider-Man franchises after their appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So it would be the perfect way to bring Garfield back and unite these villains as being a part of his universe. Also, it would be the first time we get an older Spider-Man later on in life, with the burdens of adulthood adding new layers to the character in live-action. Seeing how popular Peter B. Parker’s character was in Into The Spider-Verse, a similar one could be just as successful in live-action. Especially if the two franchises cross streams and Garfield’s Spider-Man acts as a mentor to a live-action Spider-Man, similar to Into The Spider-Verse. What do you think of this idea of Sony’s Spider-Verse movies? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or reach out to me on Twitter at @theshahshahid to continue the conversation. Office Hero: Marvel Version
I just finished this now and instead of making you all wait i thought i’d just post it ;) Basically this is going to be based of off this post but for the mcu universe and all the marvel characters. if you want to catch up on the short dc series I did based on this well . . . here: part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4 Now, since this is highly anticipated, lets get started without further ado.
Steve Rogers :
Tying on an apron you started your work shift for the day. Your job at the coffee shop didn't pay you big money, but you liked it, it payed the bills for now and even better it was only a two block walk from your house. Walking up to the counter you caught sight of the man sitting alone at the small two person table by the windows at the front of the shop. He was gorgeous. . . Tall, broad, and clearly well muscled under the shirt he was wearing. Short ash blonde hair half fell into his face and beautiful crystal blue eyes were trained on the notebook lying on the table in front of him as he drew the pen across the page. The man’s clear handsomeness wasn't what had you stopping in your tracks though. it wasn’t that. . .it was the black 9 hovering over his bent head. You stopped your passing coworker as they were headed to the coffee machine and gestured to the man “who’s he?” They just shrugged “Don't know. he came in two hours ago, ordered a coffee and he’s just been sitting there doodling in that book since. In fact he might need a refill-- you should go and check on him.” With that she turned and left. With nothing else to do you did what she said, gathered your nerve and walked up to him “Can I get you anything?” he looked up startled for a minute broke a smile broke out on his face like a sun finally breaking through clouds. “No thanks. . . Y/N.” He said glancing at your name tag “I’m Steve.”
Thor:
It was like the end of the world-- and you certainly hadn't expected that when you came in for what you thought was a normal day of work. Outside the windows chaos reigned. People were running everywhere, crying and screaming as the unmistakable sounds of gunshots and falling buildings filled the air. You had no idea who or what the weird blue alien creatures where-- but they were everywhere, running rampant in the city. They were obviously attacking and that was the only thing you cared about. The rest of the people in the shop were terrified, frozen or cowering on horror. There was no way you were about to do that. when you moved to the door your coworker tried to stop you but you easily shook her off, walked to it and threw it open wide “In here, Come in here quick!!” Immediately people ran in the direction of your voice and you stood aside, holding the door for them, your plan worked a bit too well and soon the small café was packed, standing room only. You closed and locked the door behind you. They’d be safe in there-- but you wanted to go and do what you could to help, see what other people you could save. spotting one of the aliens’ discarded staff guns you picked it up and got to work. You made it two blocks before you ran into him. Accidentally you’d stumbled into a sea of them and were taking down one after another, conscious of the wall slowly getting closer at your back. That’s when Thor the god of thunder himself landed, swinging Mjolnir to the pavement and taking out all of the aliens in a single blow. He nodded to you and there was just time enough to spot the 11 over his head before he flew off. you loosed a breath, spun the staff , then kept waking on. The battle of new York wasn’t over yet and you had other things to focus on then level 11 dangerous thunder gods.
Tony Stark:
You’d just started your new job as a reporter after quitting your job as a café waitress (the building was destroyed anyway--thanks to Loki and the battle of new york)--- and what was your first story? a freaking stark expo!! It was like a dream come true for you as you watched Tony Stark on stage, wowing everyone and unveiling the latest incredible groundbreaking tech made by him and his company. Of course his friend Rhodey had been up there with him (just close enough to you that you could see the 7 hovering above him) Now the main exhibit was over and the party had started, people lingering to talk over the invention and mingle. You were by the snack table, grabbing something to eat when the last thing you expected to happen did. “Hey there.” You turned around- -all ready to chew out the guy who thought he could dare try to flirt with you when all your scorching words burned in your throat. Tony Stark himself was facing you, his mouth wide in a charming smile. Your eyes almost automatically flitted above his head to take In the 8 there before lowering to meet his again. Thankfully he didn't seem to notice. His smile never faltered as he extended his hand “Tony Stark.” You smirked “I know.”
Bruce Banner:
A month after your first story (you still weren't over the fact that it had been a Stark expo or that you had become friends with the billionaire) and your reporting career was flourishing-- you were practically the best in the business. That’s why you were chosen when someone was needed to interview Dr. Bruce Bannner, the notorious hulk, though you had a sneaking suspicion it was because you were the only one crazy and fearless enough to say yes. The other guy didn’t scare you. Not one bit. So you found yourself sitting in a room, waiting for Dr. Banner to walk through the door. Despite your boundless courage you found your self literally quaking and all the blood draining from your face as soon as you caught sight of his short, nervous figure. . .Him and the great glowing 100 above his head. You could now say that’d you’d seen and met some very dangerous people-- but you’d never seen anyone that high on the scale, that dangerous before. Though going in you’d expected him to blow the scale out of the water you hadn't expected it to be so high. . . You forced a smile on your face and bullied your nerves into quiet calm as you held out your hand “Hi Dr. Banner, it's nice to meet you. I'm F/N L/N.”
Peter Parker:
There was no telling how Tony had convinced you-- you didn’t even know yourself. but here you were, now the vice president to Pepper Potts and the second most powerful person in the entirety of Stark Industries. What a change from reporting and waitressing. You’d had enough of reporting and quit. . .which of course Tony had gotten word of almost immediately and as soon as he had he’d come to you and offered you a job, being the friend that he was. You’ d been reluctant at first but had taken the offer in the end. . .of course, when he said “job” you just thought he meant a assistant position or something like that-- not vice president. Tony wasn’t at the office all the time (busy doing avenger billionaire playboy philanthropist things) but he would visit the office a lot. . . like now. “How’s the coolest vice president in the world doing today?” You don’t even bother to look up “What do you want Tony?” “Nothing. . .” You look up with a skeptical eye brows raised and immediately catch sight of the boy standing shyly next to Tony “This is Peter Parker, kinda my protogee--- I'm showing him around, letting him meet and talk to the people. I just wanted to stop in and introduce him.” You can't help smiling at the admittedly adorable boy with the bold black 6 over him. “Nice to meet you Peter.” “N-nice to meet you too.” “Anyway!” Tony Placed a hand on peter’s shoulder “We’ll get out of your hair.” “Oh, I only wish Stark.” You laughed jokingly as they walked out of the office
Wanda Maximoff:
“Where are we going Stark?” The man sitting in the limo seat across from you smiled and peaked over his sun glasses “That would ruin the whole point of it being surprise-- really” He huffed and pushed the glasses up on his nose as you groaned “Really? come on, just tell me.” Tony let out an over dramatic sigh “Alright. . . since you asked for it. We’re going to my new top secret state of the art’s avengers compound. It still needs some finishing touches but it's pretty much done and I wanted to give you a tour of the place.” After hearing that, it was impossible not be excited and eager for the journey's end so when the car finally stopped you were the first one out-- standing in awe, literally openmouthed at the huge white complex In front of you. Tony laughed at your expression “Come on, I'll show you around.” Immediately you followed him, not wanting to miss anything. show you around he did. . .taking you into every room and introducing you to pretty much everyone the two of you came across--except one person. The two of you were passing a glass window that looked down into a room you assumed was the training area when you saw her. A woman with long brown hair was using what looked like magic to annihilate some high tech practice dummies, the 11 above her head clear even from that distance. You paused and Tony noticed, stopping too. “who’s she?” he looked down at the girl “Wanda Maximoff-- but we like to call her scarlet witch.” There was a moment of silence as you both watched her train “. . .i’d introduce you but it looks like she’s kind of busy right now, so we’ll come back to her later.” at his words you looked one last time at her then turned and followed behind him again.
Loki Laufeyson:
Courtesy of Tony you’d been invited to a small party/get together at the compound. . .and you were majorly nervous and excited. An actual party-- with the avengers!! most people could only dream but as you walked up to the door and were let in by a friendly Steve (who you’d gotten to know beyond “that guy from the café”) it was your reality. As you walked into the room to see all of them sitting and lounging around you felt intimidated for a half a second , that is-- before you got over it and went down to talk to them. Two hours later the party was in full swing as you headed back to your seat, drink in hand. suddenly, you paused, eyes trained towards the shadows and hardly believing you were seeing what you thought you were. Tall, pale and thin, cold blue eyes and long raven black hair that neared his shoulders. You’d know that figure, that face anywhere-- pretty much every citizen of New York would. Like you they’d either lived through it, seen his face plastered on ever TV-- or both. You were about to go up and ask just what he was doing there when someone spoke up from behind you “I see you’ve noticed Loki.” Turning to face Vision you didn't even spare a glance at the crystal in his forehead or the 11 you knew you’d see over him if you looked. “Yeah. . . I have. What is he doing here? do you know?” “Apparently Thor brought him along in an attempt to make amends. Have him talk with everyone, see what they were like, maybe form a friendship.” “He really thinks that's a good idea? that It might work?” you asked skeptically “The bond of brothers runs deep.” Vision said with a shrug “Thor believes him to be good at heart and capable of redemption if only given the chance and provided motivation.” The words made you look over at the figure in the shadows again. The first shock of seeing the trickster had made you completely overlook the 8 hovering over him, but you saw it now and you had to admit, he wasn't t as dangerous as you thought. After what he did you expected he would be a 10 at least on the scale. . . but he wasn’t. Just then he must have felt your eyes on him because Loki looked over, meeting your gaze. A smile spread across his face and you smiled back before walking on.
Natasha Romanoff:
You had no idea how or why you were being given the opportunity-- what strings some unknown mystery person had had to pull but here you were at SHIELD. Following behind Maria Hill you subtly looked all around, trying to keep all the awe you felt as unapparent as possible. You were in a building full of cool badass spies and intelligence agents. . . you didn't want to look like some stupid wide eyed eager kid in a candy store. After the two of you passed what you guessed was the main cockpit and control room you looked back at Hill and asked “Remind me again why this training couldn't be done at the compound. . . or anywhere else?” she smiled over her shoulder at you “Because this is the most secure and high tech facility anywhere plus we’ve got some of the best fighters and combat experts here” ”oh, is that all?” “That, and the person we assigned to teach you just got back from a mission and they’re going out on another one in a few hours so it was easier for you to come to us.” that peaked your curiosity “Who’d you assign to teach me?” As Maria Stopped you could have sworn you saw an almost smirk on her face before she turned and opened the door beside her “Agent Romanoff.” and sure enough when you looked into the room a familiar tall black clad red haired figure greeted you, already waiting across the mat between you. . . but all you had eyes for was the ten you could already see above her head.
Clint Barton
Heading down the halls of SHIELD you were making your way to your now regular sparring session with Natasha. It had only been going on for two weeks and were having to show up three times a week to train with her. Mulling over the fact that you still hadn’t beaten her and that it would probably be a long tome yet till you did when you reached the door and went in. Catching sight of what was inside you stopped in your tracks for a second. Nat was talking with a Sandy haired man dressed in a sleek black and purple suit. . .his distinctive bow in his hands and a quiver full of arrows at his back. As you watched he looked over and locked eyes with you for a half second before turning back to Tasha, said another word or to then turned and walked out of the room (it seemed every room in shield had at least two entrances and exists as protocol) Only when the door fully closed behind him did you move and walked up to Natasha “Was that . . “Agent Barton? Yeah.“ You cast another glance in the direction he went until Natasha’ s words brought you back “Enough distractions, lets get started.” still as you got into your fighting stance you couldn't help but think of the nine you’d seen from across the room. he was slightly more dangerous then you'd thought.
Sam Wilson:
You were paying a visit to the compound, sitting in the cafeteria eating some much deserved lunch when a voice made you loo up “Mind if we sit here.” You were greeted by a smiling Steve and a new face standing beside him. You didn't even blink when you took in the 8 over the new man’s head. You were in a room full of 8, 9 and tens. . .and by now you’d seen and met people far more dangerous then that, what’s more you counted all of them friends. wow what a long way from coffee shops and nine induced freak outs. “Sure, go ahead.” “Thanks.” Steve said as both of them sat down “This is my friend, Sam Wilson.” You grinned at him and he flash a glowing while smile right back at you as you said “ It’s nice to meet you.”
Bucky Barnes:
You’d heard of James Bucannon Barnes-- first from history books and museums and then later from Captain America himself when he told you about his past after you gently inquired into it. When you learned he was alive you were surprised to say the least and you listened to the story's of him and his latest run in with the Captain in shock. But after that he went on the run, vanishing without a trace, so It was a while later before you actually met him. You were simply relaxing at home for once when there was knocking at your door. You really didn’t want to get up but you dragged yourself to the door anyway and got a shock when you opened it. Steve stood there wearing a hood over his face, the rom of a baseball cap peaking out from under it and a pair of dorky glasses on his face.. . but he wasn't alone. Standing next to him was another hooded man wearing a baseball cap-- but you still recognized him instantly-- The Winter Solder aka Bucky Barnes. “Sorry Y/N. I wouldn’t come to you if this wasn’t important but we need a place to stay and you’re one of the only ones I trust right now.” You looked one more time at the other man standing nervously, warily, uncertainly on your front step-- the Black 10 over his head bright in the day light. Making your decision you stood aside “Come in.”
Notes and Extras:
T’challa would be a 10-- I chose not to write him because it would the meeting would be different depending on what side the reader fights for, which i wanted to keep true as possible, making it nearly impossible to write sine I'd have to pick a side and make it untrue for some.

My take on Captain America: Civil War is that the film did a pretty good job on picking up the trajectories of cap and Iron Man’s solo films to justify their respective stances; Iron Man’s whole thing in the MCU is that he’s perpetually freezing the gorilla to death and overreacting to his last thoughtless fuckup with a new thoughtless fuckup, and Cap’s recent history primarily consists of learning at gunpoint that the “lawful authority” he was taking his marching orders from was run by secret Nazis. They sold me on the idea that their respective hangups would lead them to physically fight each other over this.
However. The core problem, absolutely unfixable but very, very present, is that the MCU had had like, thirty costumed heroes ever, at the time of the film, some of whom were dead, some of whom were AWOL, some of whom were siloed in low-budget ABC shows, and thus the big showdown had the same energy as two groups of drunken assholes duking it out in a Denny’s parking lot. Literally, Ant Man shows up because he’s a guy one of them knows and they call him for extra muscle. They all awkwardly change in a parking garage. It’s farcical.
For everything wrong with it, the comics version of the story was an actual war, and it derived what stakes and power it had from the fact that both the fighting and the resolution of the conflict had very real day-to-day consequences for the man on the street. The event really only functions as intended in a world where superheroes are an unholy cross between subculture, activist movement, marginalized demographic and bounty hunters; the MCU version was just suped-up office politics, and not for a company whose work you like. We’re talking, like, Blackwater here.

Bad fighter Mobius M. Mobius is the best kind of Mobius M. Mobius, Actually.
I already loved Mobius more than most of the MCU characters before episode 6 came out, but THAT scene in Ravonna´s Office was really game changer for me. Until then I was actually sure, that this man is a great fighter. Because HOW THE FUCK COULD HE NOT BE, RIGHT? I mean...
he looks so sure of himself, He´s going on those missions with trained hunters all the time, he´s fearless! And then Ravonna says: “even with that, you´re of no danger to me” And I was like: Ha! keep dreaming girl He´ll show you! And Mobius was like: “Is that what you think? Let´s see..” And I was like: Yeeees that´s my boyyyyy!!!”
And then Ravonna was like...
Mobius in the air in like a split of second. And I was like
But Mobius freaking smiled and was like: “Yeah you were right”
ok. OK. HE´S MY FUCKING FAVOURITE NOW. THERE IS NO ONE BETTER THEN HIM SORRY. Suddenly I was lost. I was blown away. It was HE BETTER STAYS IN MCU FOREVER OR I WILL SCREAM type of feeling. So let me get this straight. He can´t fight. He probably knows that he is not a good fighter, and he... HOLY SHIT. THE WHOLE SERIES IS SO MUCH BETTER!!! .... As much as I love the idea of strong Mobius with long hair and daggers, looking for Loki through entire universe… I´m not sure, if I really want to see that in canon. I just love this cute and non-combatant version of Mobius too much, I´m sorry! Let me explain my weird brain please: we have lots of strong heroes in MCU – those who are great fighters, or those who had to learn how to fight. The one thing I always loved about Iron man was the fact, that he really needed his brilliant brain, his technology (suit) and bravery to fight. And in the end he was the hero who saved them all. I mean… yeah. There are side-kicks, like Happy Hogan, or Luis (Ant man´s best friend) and I LOVE them! But none of them has got as much screen time and importance, as Mobius. When I think about what I love so much about him and his dynamic with Loki, there is always this one thing that prevails: one of them is an incredibly strong but also very careful god (not when he´s drunk though) who uses a lots of strategies and plans, while the other is a tiny man in a suit who can´t fight shit but runs into the throat of a danger every chance he get and no one can´t stop him. just look at him!!!
He goes on missions with these trained hunters to just look around for clues and has no concerns about potentional harm whatsoever.
And he even finds the time to stand up for normal people and be kind to them in the process:
Once Loki has no collar, on his neck he could break all Mobius´s limbs in a matter of seconds if he wanted to, but Mobius is completely sure he has nothing to worry about around his Loki. He´s not scared of ANYTHING, especially of Loki variants. Like EVER! :D
let me break it down in detail for ya. I made a list: When they are taking Loki on his first mission outside, Loki asks, if no one is concerned that he is going to has his magic back...
well, maybe someone actually is concerned by that but it sure as hell isn´t Mobius. He just simply says that he could get Loki to Time keepers if he won´t try anything and like... this one line is getting on Loki so much, that Loki even tries to use it few moments latter xD And here is the best scene ever:
LOKI: “we can go anywhere!”
MOBIUS: “I´m not taking you for a stroll along the promenade, much less an apocalypse” FEW MOMENTS LATTER:
Hang on. Wait. So you telling me, he took this man outside without permission, without backup (you know, hunters, that actually CAN fight), right to the apocalypse, knowing that Loki can use his powers anytime, however he wants. It´s just... God. I love him!!! And then he just hands him the daggers like it´s no big deal!
Like are we all aware this man has no any super powers, no big strength, nor any impressive fighting skills and he is willing to give him daggers for a mission, where this god is capable of magic and everyone else in team ECCEPT mobius is at least able to fight????? And he just has that small bulletproof vest, and a raincoat and he chats with Loki in a rain like it was a fucking another apocalyptic DATE?
Ok. Let´s jump to the episode four He goes and persuades Ravonna to let him interrogate Sylvie and he is straight up arguing with her, even when he´s told how dangerous Sylvie is. This man LOVES danger!!!
Once he has doubts he decides to risk it all and swaps TemPads right behind Ravonnas back.
And he is watching it OUT LOUD in a place where anyone can show up at anytime!
no but serously. This is a face of a man who is EXCITED for a dangerous adventures with Loki. Yeah, lets bring this whole place down together!
And then we have this scene. Mobius really has a nerves to pull “ ha ha I had to take it by mistake” line right there.
But once he understand he´s gonna die, he just take his fate with bravery and talks to Ravonna about life he really desires.
And remember that time Ravonna warned him about this variant and how dangerous she is? He casually saves her, just like that. No big deal.
He even has a time to make teasing notes about how Sylvie should be more careful jumping to a strangers car like that and how she really is one of the Lokis.
And after he saves her, he manage to apologize to her and make her to like him. EVERY FREAKING LOKI LIKES HIM! - that has to be his super power I swear And then Sylvie is like: well actually let´s go back there, I think It´s the best idea ever. And mobius is like: What back to the angry cloud? - oh great. fuck this why the hell not. Lets do it.
so... while Loki and Sylvie are getting closer, lets show us, how literally every Loki likes Mobius (like not even alligator loki wants to hurt him, even when Mobius suggests that he is a liar I CAN´T) And just random (AGAIN) during the chat saving Loki and Sylvie (without even knowing) when he inspires Classic Loki to change.
He offers free tickets straght to the TVA to kid Loki, classic Loki and an alligator. I mean... What a LEGEND.
when he gets there he just knock on Ravonna´s door and is like - lets talk about it xDD
And he isn´t even suprised to lose that fight. He makes himself comfortable on the floor: yeah you were right. Here we go again. Just prune me already, doesn´t matter, I have my Lokis there anyway.
But make no mistake, I don´t think he is stupid, or naive. That is the most fascinating thing about him. He is brilliant. He can makes great plans (it surely as hell was him, who come up with the high school scheme) He is a great investigator, he is familiar with psychology very well, he know how to manipulate people just as well, as Loki. He can interrogate flawlessly (when jealousy is not involved) And when he woke up in the Void, he was able to escape certain death, choose a car and drive around looking for Loki - and eventualy save Sylvie. He is a very capable man. I dont think he shouldn´t have any power. Like - he has his inteligence, his knowledge of all languages (I want to see him chat with Groot please), his knowledge of psychology, knowledge of how TVA works... He can have his pruning stick, TemPad, bulletproof vest and a raincoat for what I care. but most importantly he has his kind heart, love of adrenaline, and he is a freaking Loki expert. And let´s not forget, every Loki loves him. Also, he has a damn luck as well :D It´s like - Loki always ends up loosing, so Mobius is fine - even when he should be dead about million times already. (one man´s void is another man´s piece of cake) So when they are togheter. There is no way for Loki to actually die. Not by his side xD So I don´t think he needs to become great fighter. I believe, that this is a hundred times better. Creators should explore this dynamic to it´s bottom before they make him fighter with super powers or something like that. ( I wouldn´t mind long hair though) I´m sorry. But I just really love that. I love how small and fragile he is, but he wont be scared of anything. And now he´s Loki best friend (while having masive crush on him, let's be precise ) So just imagine all those amazing scenes that could come with that. Imagine there is some very dangerous Loki variant that everyone has problem to deal with, and Mobius is gonna be like - you´re so cute guys, nice try. Now let me talk to him, will ya. Imagine some big battle where our Loki and Mobius are fighting side by side with Avengers and Loki is using all his potential, and he is so stunning in his leather but he can´t focus very well, because few metters from him is a small, fragile man in a suit just using TemPad an afucking pruning stick. And Loki didn´t even want him there in the first place. So they are arguing like married couple right then and there and every avenger AND enemy in close distance just can´t believe these two are real. also Loki saves Mobius by taking him in his arms right on time and running to safety with him
Maybe this post is completely useless and has incredibly bad english like every text I write, but I don´t care. I just wanted to loudly appreciate this mans non-fighting skills and his hilariously huge courage. End of the post. have nice day! Bye!

Loki Season 2 Cast: Every Marvel Character Confirmed to Appear | The Direct
Loki Season 2 is filled with new and returning characters across the wider MCU Multiverse, and here's every hero and villain confirmed to return.
The upcoming second season of the Tom Hiddleston-led Disney+ series is set to address the cliffhanger of Season 1's mind-blowing finale. In doing so, Loki is set to team up with old and new allies while also coming across fresh faces.
1.) Loki (Tom Hiddleston)
Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as the God of Mischief in Loki Season 2. Based on last season's finale, the titular anti-hero is expected to have a much bigger role in the series, complete with higher stakes due to the arrival of many Kang Variants.
Marketing for Season 2 showed that Loki is back as a full-fledged member of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), with snippets of footage showing him using magic during missions. However, the crux of Loki's mission relies on him warning the TVA about Kang's true intentions while finding Sylvie before it's too late.
2.) Mobius (Owen Wilson)
Owen Wilson returns as Mobius, but the question remains if he's still the same version of the character from Season 1. During the finale, Loki (and the audience) realizes that the Mobius he's speaking to is not the same since he doesn't recognize him.
It's possible that the Mobius Loki interacted with during the Season 1 finale is a Variant, or Kang mind-wiped his memories. Still, promo footage for Season 2 revealed that Mobius would play a major role alongside the titular trickster, potentially helping him to uncover Kang's secrets within the TVA.
3.) Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino)
When Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie killed He Who Remains during the Season 1 finale, it unleashed the Multiverse with endless possibilities and a plethora of Kang Variants.
The ramifications of Sylvie's actions are expected to be at the forefront in Season 2. However, considering that Season 2 set photos revealed that Sylvie is trapped in the 1970s working for McDonald's (yes, really), Loki will need to find her first.
It's possible that Sylvie will eventually "wake up" and team up with Loki and Mobius to round up the Kang Variants in the Multiverse, but it's a taller task that requires more than the entire TVA. Who knows? Season 2 could end with Loki and Sylvie alerting Earth-616's Avengers about Kang.
4.) Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw)
Loki's Season 1 finale revealed that Ravonna Renslayer went rogue to find "free will."
Although the Season 2 trailer featured Renslayer in a brief appearance, the character's whereabouts are still unknown. Given that Mobius is a close friend of Ravonna, it's possible that a side plot of the upcoming season would be focused on the search for Renslayer.
5.) Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku)
Hunter B-15 had a significant role in Season 1, and the trend is expected to continue in Loki Season 2.
Similar to Mobius, Wunmi Mosaku's TVA agent seen in the Season 1 finale is a different Variant who helped Loki turn the tide. It seems that it will take much convincing from Loki and Mobius for Hunter B-15 to be on their side again.
6.) TVA Archivist (Ke Huy Quan)
Ke Huy Quan is set to make his MCU debut as the TVA's archivist in Loki Season 2. The first footage from D23 revealed his own distinct office space, giving new trinkets to Loki and Mobius.
Ke Huy Quan's character could be the key to finding how the TVA works on the technological side of things.
7.) Casey (Eugene Cordero)
Eugene Cordero's Casey had a minor role in Loki Season 1, but he was confirmed to receive more screen time in Season 2 since he was bumped to a season regular status.
It's possible that Casey will end up on the side of Loki and Mobius, helping the pair against the Kang Variant that they will be facing in the upcoming adventure.
8.) Miss Minutes (Tara Strong)
Tara Strong confirmed her return as Miss Minutes in Loki Season 2, and it is expected that the TVA mascot will have another major role ahead.
Season 1 revealed that Miss Minutes is in cahoots with He Who Remains, with her being aware of the TVA's leader and his secrets. Given that the finale resets everything, it will be interesting to see if Miss Minutes is an ally of the Kang Variant that Loki and Mobius will be dealing with.
9.) Rafael Casal's Marvel Character
When Rafael Casal was first reported to join the cast of Loki Season 2, little was known about his MCU character. However, set photos revealed that the actor was wearing a TVA jumpsuit, indicating that he's a prisoner of the organization.
10.) Kang Variant/s (Jonathan Majors)
Loki Season 2 is rumored to include multiple Kang Variants, meaning that Jonathan Majors is set to return. Still, the actor popping back up isn't surprising, considering that his Kang is vital to the TVA's time travel shenanigans.
Given that Loki is aware of the overarching threat of Kang, it's possible that Season 2 could center around him alongside Mobius and a reformed Sylvie to track down as many Kang Variants as they can and find out if they are aware of the Multiversal War that He Who Remains mentioned during the Season 1 finale.
In fact, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has confirmed a key Variant who will meet Loki and Mobius in Season 2.
11.) Kate Dickie's MCU Character
Kate Dickie will also make her MCU debut in Loki Season 2, but her character is still unknown.
A past report may have indicated that Dickie could end up playing Season 2's villain. Some have theorized that the actress is portraying an older Sylvie due to her resemblance to Sophia Di Martino.
A previous rumor then revealed that Dickie is using former TVA agents gone rogue to prune the new timelines that resulted from Sylvie having killed He Who Remains in Season 1's finale.

Premise: The group consisting of three versions of Peter Parker and two high school students are in for a treat when they are summoned to meet with current Director of what’s left of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers. Young Peter Parker is all too familiar with having to answer to the one and only Jackie Stark, but could he be prepared for what’s in store when he lands in Avengers Campus. Let’s just say the little spider is gonna know what it’s like to be on time out.
Note: this is part two of an AU where the peters are trapped in the MCU world. Please read part 1 for background info on who the OC is. This does diverge from canon, and may turn into a possible series in the future where I go back in time and do a full story on Jackie and her life.
——————-
When the plane landed on the airstrip, Peter (1) felt his heart start to race. His nerves were starting to get to him and was mentally preparing for what would be waiting for him when they arrive to Jackie’s office.
Jackie Stark was a force to be reckoned with. The woman was a super soldier from the 40s lost in time like Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers. A true genius in chemistry and engineering—a doctor at that, something women during that time were not encouraged to do as it was believed the woman’s place was staying home to care for a man and children. But Jackie Stark was ambitious.
She went through many hardships as one could imagine. Dealing with egotistical men who downplayed her intelligence and talent. Rarely being taken serious—being called names when she stood her ground. Her younger brother, Howard, was always the one being praised while she stood in the shadows—even when it was her tests and calculations that made Howards designs work. Hell, she was the one who was gifted the vibranium to make Steve’s shield.
But history doesn’t tell you that.
Don’t be fooled now. Jackie loved her brother immensely and was the one to clock him if his ego and arrogance got the best of him. She was heartbroken when she woke up 60 years after being captured to find he along with her husband and son were killed just 19 years earlier. And Jackie barely had time to grieve the life she lost when she woke cause she was immediately thrown back into the spotlight and having to be the hero the world saw her to be.
Now here she was 13 years after waking up from a cryogenic coma as the Director of the Avengers & what was left of S.H.I.E.L.D following it’s fall in 2014. Fury was off planet—helping with the Skrulls, and couldn’t keep track of everything happening on Earth. So after cleaning up what happened with Thanos, Fury passed the mantel to the woman who was the right choice to lead.
After being hidden in the shadows for so long.
And boy was shit hitting the fan the moment Jackie Stark took her position. Wanda had unconsciously taken a whole town under her control, there were rumors of what the Loki that escaped in 2012 was up to, Clint was dealing with his Ronin drama, some mysterious rings belonging to a man named Shang-Chi had sent a beacon, & finally Peter was being accused of Quentin Backs’ murder which then led to the appearance of multiversal villains.
It was a lot for the Director.
So Peter was naturally shaking in his shoes by what her reaction would be now that he had seemed to put the icing on the cake on a shit show. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he casted a quick nervous glance to Mj and saw she was also looking a bit nervous. The others unclasped their seatbelts and followed Happy off the plane onto the airstrip. There was already a car waiting for them and they piled in with Happy in the drivers seat.
“So does Jackie know about them, Happy,” Peter gestured to the others seated behind him in the far back. Ned had taken the passenger seat while Mj and Peter (1) sat in the middle, the other versions taking camp in the far back.
Happy started the car, “Can’t really tell ya, kid. She didn’t say much on the phone—just to get you and everyone involved to the compound. Strange either called her or she saw something and called him—that’s when she called me.”
“Dammit, Strange,” Peter (1)s shoulders deflated. His head perks up a bit, “is there anyone else here?”
“I know Tony is,” that seemed to give Peter a little hope. “Nat is off helping Clint in New York and recruiting that young girl. Banner is helping Wong figure out what’s up with those Rings—and Thor is off God knows where in space with the Guardians.” Happy pauses to think, “I think Wanda is here. Jackie finally tracked her down and is trying to get Secretary Ross to call off Wandas arrest—I think she might be in a meeting with him right now actually.”
That just made Peter (1) deflate again. Hearing Jackie was in a meeting with Ross was not really good news. Especially if the man brings up what just happened in New York.
“Who’s Secretary Ross again?” Peter (3) raises his hand from the back.
“He’s the dude that was involved with all the Accords stuff,” Peter (1) replied, leaning his head against the window to watch the passing scenery. “And a very important dude at that.”
The car ride was quick and quiet. They passed two smaller buildings and the quinjet pad before pulling up to the parking lot in front of the main large building with the Avengers logo on it. They all piled out, with Happy leading them inside and the group couldn’t help but stop at he scene in front of them.
The building was buzzing with life. People were running with briefcases, speaking into earpieces, and conversing at tables while very large screens were mounted on the walls across the reception desk. News coverage was on at least two of them—already breaking the story of the semi-destroyed Statue of Liberty.
There was another monitor showcasing the status of Avengers with their pictures. Peter could see that his name, Nat, Rhodey, Banner, Strange, Sam, Bucky, T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, Danvers, Thor and the Guardians were all listed as active and highlighted green. Tony, Jackie, Wanda, Scott, Hope, & Clint were all listed as inactive with their pictures highlighted red. Below the Avengers were a list of names underneath the bolded; Newest Recruits. The names were Xi Shang-Chi, Joaquin Torres, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop.
Happy strolls up to the reception desk, while the group remains a few paces behind him just staring at the monitors. “Hey, Tina,” he greets, “I need to get a couple visitor passes and Peter here,” he gestures to Peter 1, “needs to get his badge. Could you also let Director Stark know we’ve arrived.” The woman smiles and gets to work.
“What are the names for the passes?” Happy lists the names and gives an ‘I know, we’re working on it,’ when Tina becomes perplexed by hearing the two men behind Happy were also named Peter Parker. They all take their pictures for the pass and Tina hands them to each with explaining that an alarm will go off if they enter a section they are unauthorized to enter. “Tenth floor,” she tells Happy gesturing to the elevator.
Happy thanks her, as do the others and they make their way through the hallway next to the desk towards the elevator. Happy presses tenth floor, the highest level, and they all watch through the glass windows as they ascend. At first Peter thought the door would open and they’d automatically be in Jackies office, but instead it reveals another long corridor with a golden colored door at the end.
As the group begins to walk the hall, the door opens and a wheelchair bound Tony Stark emerges. Despite making a full recovery, he still had trouble walking and there were a few patches of burn marks on him. “If it isn’t the man of the hour!” The man is smiling, which makes Peter (1) even more dreadful. “On this episode of Peter screws the pooch,” now Peter (1) was having flashbacks to 2016. “—Jackie told you to call her if things went sideways and what happened, things went sideways and you didn’t call her.”
“Tony—.”
“Ah!” Tony lifts a finger to stop him. “You don’t have to explain to me, kid. The boss is who that’s for.” He watched Peter (1) gulp and the man sighed, brining his chair closer so he was in front of the boy. “She hasn’t given any sign of anger—and you know that’s when it gets scary when she doesn’t say anything. You’re just gonna have to be upfront an honest, Peter.” Tony leans back to notice the group behind him. “Maybe you’re new friends can help.”
Tony wheels to the side so he could get a better look at the two men. “You must be the spider-guys,” Tony glanced over the Peters. “That’s still weird to wrap my head around. Tony Stark,” he extends his hand and shakes the older Peters hand first before the taller one.
“Nice to meet you, Tony.” Peter (2) greets. “We’ve heard a lot about you. Glad to see you’ve made a full recovery.”
Tony thanks him, “Yeah it’s been a ride. I honestly still use this thing to get Pepper from making me go to the store.” Tony greets Mj, Ned, before turning to Happy. “We still on for Friday? Pep, Morgan, and Rhodey will be joining.”
“Sure thing, boss.” Happy salutes. Tony looks at Peter (1), face becoming solemn.
“I’m sorry about your aunt, Peter.” Peter face falls, but was appreciative for Tonys words. “Jackie will probably set you up here for the time being. But if you feel like you need to get away from suits and spandex wearers for a little bit, give me a call and we can get you to lake house. Morgans been asking about when you’ll come around.”
That makes Peter smile. “Sure thing, Tony. Thank you.”
Tony gives the group one last look over. “Well I best be off then—boss wants to see you, can’t keep her waiting— and I need to get an update on everything your little electric friend stole from the warehouse,” the Peters all look at each other. “Which reminds me, did you get the arc reactor taken from Happys place?” He waits for an answer, but the nervous reactions from the three was enough of an answer. Tony drops his head with a sigh, “Great, now some guy from across a universal pond has my life’s work. Oh well, what’s done is done.” He starts directing the wheelchair away giving one last goodbye. “Good luck with the boss, kid. Hope I don’t find you on the board of the fallen anytime soon.”
“Bye, Tony,” Peter waves, dropping his hand with a groan when the mans back is to him. Happy pats his shoulder and nudges for him to the door.
They approach the golden door with a intercom and keypad mounted on the side below a plague reading, ‘Jaqueline E. ‘Jackie’ Stark, Director.’ Peter noticed a golden outline of an eagle beside the name along with the Avengers symbol next to it.
Happy presses the ‘*’ button on the keypad. There was a buzzing sound before the door unlocks and Happy pushes it open to reveal the very large space that could almost pass as a penthouse. There was glass paneling all around making the room illuminate from all the sunlight entering. The space itself had two levels with a floating staircase in the middle back of the room that connected the ground level to a glass compartment.
Mounted on the long wall where the door was were pictures ranging from the Howling Commandoes, to one of Jackie, Steve, Bucky, Howard, and Peggy. Then there was the original seven of the Avengers taken after Battle of New York. Some pictures had just Jackie and one of the Avengers and at the end of the wall was a more recent one of all the active Avengers taken after defeating Thanos.
Peter eyes traveled the space in awe, as did the others behind him, seeing all the gadgets and cases decked on the sides. The most distinct case to catch their eyes was the compartment displaying the original wing pack Jackie designed and created in the 1940s. It was ancient technology compared to the modern day they were used to, but it was still a beautiful sight to see the Eagles first set of wings. The vest to attach the wings was leather, the wings itself were small compared to later designs. The little leather goggles Jackie wore with them hung on a little mantle beside the pack.
Beside it was another glass display of the wing pack Jackie made after waking from her coma and was the one she used to defeat Stane, Vanko, and Loki. She ended up retiring that wing pack after joining the Avengers, updating it as the years went on. Beside that one was the wings from 2013-2015 and then the destroyed wings from 2016 Steve had ripped off her during the fight in Siberia.
It eventually led to the creation of the Iron Eagle. A golden suit similar to Tony’s Iron Man Mark 85 equipped with wings, an arc reactor and nanotechnology. It was something they created together after the Accords and was ready by the time Thanos came. It was her current suit of armor when active as an Avenger.
“Woah,” Peter (3) traveled over to the displays, admiring the different variations of the wings. “That’s so cool.” Peter (2) also went over, reading over the plaques mantled on marble stands keeping the compartments secured.
Ned had looked out the windows on the opposite side while Mj and Peter (1) slowly walked down the middle between the couches and tables on the ground level. The group met up at the end and approached the long table in front of the staircase leading to the glass floating office. It was then they were able to hear sounds coming from inside. The two doors leading to the office were wide open, and they could see from below a blue hologram that made them all stop short of their movements.
They couldn’t see Jackie, but given the back of the black chair was facing them it was safe to assume the super soldier was in fact seated at the desk.
“I’m not going to argue with you anymore on this matter, Stark,” Secretary Ross’ voice was firm and full of annoyance. “Wanda Maximoff brainwashed an entire community against their will for her little lost romance—she needs to be detained and evaluated.”
There was a huff from the chair in front of the hologram. “Wanda was dealing with grief and loss, Mister Secretary. There was emotional turmoil you are failing to realize and she needs the help of her friends here—not be locked up like some animal.”
“That isn’t your call, Jackie—.”
“Yes it is,” the woman’s voice became hard, done with negotiating. “I am in charge of what happens to my teammates, Ross. We are an independent agency now, and your little boo boo of ordering Rhodey to arrest Steve, Nat, Sam, Wanda, and Vision when you knew a genocidal alien was on his way to do destruction proves you don’t have what it takes to be ordering the Avengers around. The U.N saw to that and realized their mistake with the Accords which is why they chose me—me, Ross—to oversee this team.”
“And now look at what’s happening,” Ross throws his arms up. “Look around. We got a town full of people still dealing with trauma after being mentally held against their will for over a week. That Ronin guy is back in New York,” Jackie gives an amused laugh—obviously knowing something Ross doesn’t. “—And you’re little spider-kid just destroyed half of Liberty Island. Not to mention all he did in Europe just last week. What are you going to do about that?” Chills form on Peters body, cursing in his mind by the news Ross knows about New York.
Jackie makes a sound and Peter can only imagine what her face must look like hearing Ross run his mouth. There’s a little cloud of smoke that leaves the chair, before she speaks. “I’ve sent resources to Westview including the Stark Relief Foundation, counselors, financial aid to the residents, and resources to help rebuild all that was destroyed in the little altercation with S.W.O.R.D—which,” her tone thickens as if she had been waiting to go off on Ross. “—Let me remind you, Ross, the reason Wanda even did what she did was because S.W.O.R.D took Visions body and illegally dismantled him to get back online. They had no authorization, no clearance—they weren’t even supposed to have Vision!” Her voice raises with each second.
“Vision was created by Tony, Banner, and myself with the help of Thor. It was Tony’s A.I system programmed—his work. If his body was going to go anywhere, it was going to be with us.” There was movement in the chair, looking like Jackie was leaning forward. “S.W.O.R.D had absolutely no right to take him and do what they did so if you’re gonna point the blame at anyone then it better be at Hayworth, Thaddeus.”
“Damn,” Peter (3) whistled under his breath. He mentally prayed he’d never be on the receiving end of Jackie Starks wrath—but that prayer might be short lived.
“And you better let S.W.O.R.D know to lawyer up cause I’m coming at them for everything. The stolen vibranium, the stolen tech, the A.I system—Vision,” she emphasized. “Going against his will and making him become the weapon he didn’t want to be—I’m making sure they know you don’t mess with the Avengers.”
“What’s going after S.W.O.R.D going to do, Jackie? Hayworth is detained—as are several members of the agency—the white Vision is out there somewhere. There does not need to be a war against you two.”
Jackie scoffs, “Oh but there needs to be, Ross. Because Vision was an Avenger—my friend, and I’m not letting his memory be treated like a weapon. I’m not gonna let Wanda be subjected to that.” Jackie pauses and another puff of smoke leaves the chair. “Wanda stays with me and that’s final, Ross. I’m done arguing on with you on that—have the U.N get involved I don’t care, but she stays here where it’s safe and has her family.
“As for the Ronin situation, Clint and Nat are on it with our two newest recruits—one of which just accepted last night. So you can stop worrying about that. You have enough wrinkles to show you’re stressed—anymore and you’re gonna start looking like Odin.” Ross makes a sound of offense, but Jackie ignores it. It makes the group quietly laugh, but its cut off when she switches topics.
Another cloud of smoke followed by a strained sigh. “On the subject of Spider-Man, let’s just say my two o’clock is here and I’ll give you an update at a later time.”
“Jackie…”
“You can call me later for an update but I’ll probably put you on hold—like Tony I like to watch the line blink,” she presses some buttons on the side of the chair before adding, “And that’s Director Stark to you, Mister Secretary.” With the final press the hologram image of Ross disappears.
Silence fills the room. A very tense silence that has Peter (1) stiffen when it’s suddenly broken by a slow—almost mocking, clapping sound. Everyone with the exception of Happy stiffens at the sight of the chair slowly starting to spin. The clapping continues and soon Jackie Stark is revealed to the group with a cigarette in her mouth and face reading mixed emotion.
Her claps seize, hand coming up to remove the cigarette after taking a deep drag. It’s hard to read what she was feeling, and the smoke leaves her mouth. “Well, well, well,” her voice is low, tone blank making the heat rise in Peter (1). “If it isn’t the three spiders who’ve been causing quite the mess in my hometown.”
Everyone stays silent, watching as Jackie lifts from her chair to slowly exit the office and descend the stairs. “You know,” she makes an unhumorous laugh. “I would’ve thought being my age in this overextended life I’m so blessed to have,” sarcasm spilled from her mouth, “That I would’ve seen it all.” Her heels clacked against the tile of the steps, making the sound ten times louder due to the silence filling the area. Its hard not to shudder—her entire aura reeks of power and the suit she wore screams girl boss.
A super soldier girl boss at that.
“But imagine my surprise—,” she goes on, and her eyes land on Peter (1)—making the boy freeze under her gaze. “—when I turn on the tv,” she takes another step, “—and see that the eighteen year old vigilante Tony and I took under our wing is being accused of murder. And it’s not just any murder, it’s the guy who I warned him about going after when we had just talked on the plane a week prior. I would’ve expected him to do what I asked and call me—,” Jackies voice hardens causing Peter to shudder. “—but no, he doesn’t. Then when the charges are dropped and he’s facing slander by the media and the public, I would’ve assumed he’d call me if things were getting out of hand. Throw in the fact he and his friends got rejected from MIT because of the scandal—and he has not one, but two people who could possible call and plead a case—he still doesn’t call. Instead he goes to enlist Doctor Strange to do a magic trick.”
She’s now two steps from the platform. “So Bleeker Street magician performs the trick and what happens? It goes wrong,” she lets out another unhumorous laugh, the sound making everyone feel the tension rising with each second. “It goes terribly wrong in fact—because it goes to shit from there.”
Jackie reaches the bottom step before the stairs cut to a smaller staircase on either side to the ground level. She goes to the railing, overlooking the group briefly—letting her eyes travel over the two Peters. “Do you wanna know how I found out about your little adventure, Peter? What my eyes had to witness when I tried checking in on you after days of radio silence?” She turns back to him, but doesn’t let him answer. “H.O.W.I.E, pull up the footage of the baby monitor protocol from the last three days.”
“Right away, Director Stark.”
Peters blood freezes, face becoming red. There was no backing out of this now. “Y-You still have the baby monitor thing on m-my suit?”
Jackie tilts her head. “Did you not think I wouldn’t implement it again after what happened with Beck?” It was a rhetorical question so he din’t bother answering. Jackie finishes her cigarette and descends the stairs on the left closest to where the group was. She places the bud in the ashtray, “Do you know how worried I’ve been these last forty-eight hours? When you didn’t call me after the whole feds coming to your door I can understand—Happy was there, you had May,” her voice slightly wavered at the end, and Peter had to stop the tears from wanting to form in his eyes.
“You’re lawyer got you off the hook—it was good, you didn’t want to my help and I can understand that.” Jackie takes a step forward so she was directly in front of Peter, and with her heels she was just taller than him by a few inches. Peter shuffles under her gaze when her voice becomes low. “But when you didn’t think to call me after those men from other worlds showed up that is where I’m at a cross with you, Peter Parker.”
“Jackie—.” He tries but she doesn’t let him.
“I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD, PETER!!” The statement echoes around the office, bouncing off the walls. Everyone was frozen, even Happy from his seat on the couch. They all just watched in stunned silence while Jackie Stark made sure Peter understood the hell she had been through not knowing anything. They wanted to step in, but knew it wouldn’t do any good. “I had to watch the footage on the news about what happened at Happys apartment complex not knowing if you survived that explosion. Strange wasn’t answering my calls and it was all because you trapped him in the goddamn mirror dimension—what were you thinking!” He flinches, biting his lip.
Jackies eyes had shined, almost like she wanted to cry by how angry she was and the dread thinking Peter had died. “And you couldn’t even respect me enough to let me know you were alive. If it hadn’t been for Happy calling me from the police station to let me know what happened I would’ve dragged your ass back here so fast you would’ve wished Goblin succeeded.” Hell even Peter 2 & 3 were shitting their pants at that statement. Both felt bad for their alternate counterpart—hoping Jackie would eventually calm down because Peter looked like he was about to break any moment.
“If I hadn’t implanted that monitor I would’ve never known what you were up to—and you’re lucky I didn’t intervene when I should’ve—that I believed you would succeed in your plan because I was this close,” she brings a hand up fast to pinch her fingers. “—I was this close to not caring what happened to those guys and killing them myself if it meant the chaos would end. I wouldn’t have cared if they were cured or not because the damage was done and I wanted you safe.”
“So if these two didn’t show up when they did—,” she points to the two Peters, startling them. “—with the knowledge they had to help and make those cures work, then I would’ve done so. I believed in you three—believed in you.” Jackie had leaned forward when she had went off and straightened her posture the same time HO.W.I.Es voice entered the room.
“Footage is ready, ma’am.”
Jackie doesn’t move her eyes off the boy. “Play it.” The table behind Jackie projects a blue screen similar to how Karen did in the plane. Immediately all eyes are on the screen, witnessing the multiple video clips from Peters suit that recorded from his perspective the chaos unfolding the last several days.
The two Peters moved closer, both in awe and baffled by what they were seeing. Video footage filled the projection. There was a clip of Peter 1 fighting Doc Ock, the fight against Strange, creating the prototype cures in Happys apartment—which led to the death of May. They all had to turn away at that—Peter (1) becoming emotional and having to look at the ground. There was the explosion at the apartment, the lab with all the Peters, and finally the final battle at the Statue of Liberty.
The entire time the footage was playing Jackie kept her eyes on Peter (1). Her face was blank and hands were on her hips. It was not the type of look one wanted to receive from Jackie Stark, and Peter wanted nothing more than to avoid her gaze but was literally frozen in place.
“Now here’s what’s gonna happen,” She finally spoke after the footage ended and H.O.W.I.E closed the projection. All eyes went to her. “I do not want to know why you didn’t call me. I don’t want to know why you felt the need to do what you did and I don’t want to know what all happened—I already have an understanding from the footage,” she lists off her fingers with each point. “—What I care about now is how we go forward from here. All I care about is your safety and how we’re gonna clean this up.”
Peter nods and eventually finds his voice, “Y-yes, Jackie. I understand,” his voice is hoarse and cracks slightly. “I-I’m really sorry.” The boy tried to stop his lip from quivering. “I—I um. I-I’m just really sorry. I-I just wanted to prove myself to you and make you believe I could handle it because it was my mess—and you’ve been dealing with Wanda, the Ronin, and everything I just—.”
She cuts him off by holding up a hand, making him go silent. “Stop. When you start making it your priority to prove to others your capability and not because you believe in yourself then that’s when things get reckless—that is when things get dangerous.” She tilts his chin up with her fingers when he looks down like a mother would to a child.
“Do you think I went through all the shit I did in the forties because I wanted to prove to other people what I could do? Because I wanted to change the opinion they had of me? Even now since waking up from that damn coma and getting pushed aside because of the male heroes around me? No, Peter. I did it because I believed in myself. I wanted to believe I was capable of achieving what I envisioned myself to be. Not because I wanted the arrogant men around me to see my worth. I knew my worth, and if they didn’t see it then that was on them.”
Her voice takes a more softer tone, leaning down a bit so they were eye level. “You need to start believing in yourself and stop feeling like you have to prove to me, or Tony, or any other Avenger that you belong here. I wouldn’t have taken you under my wing if I didn’t believe you did, Peter. I trust you, but you’re still young and that’s why I trusted you to call me if things went sideways because the last thing you need is to lose people close to you and look what happened.”
A noise sounded from Peters throat and he didn’t even realize he was crying until Jackie lifted her hand to wipe away the fallen tears, her own eyes becoming glossy. “Now listen to me, being a hero comes at a cost. And I’m sorry I have been harsh on you, but I want you to understand that I see you like a son, Peter.” His lip quivers and she places a comforting hand on his cheek. “I have grown to love and care for you, like you’re my own. So it hurts me to see you like this. Bloodied and bruised—suffering and in pain. I hate you had to witness first hand the cost that being a hero comes with. Why do you think Tony and I were so harsh on you about Toomes, and why we did everything we could to reverse the snap? This life is hard and full of costs—and we care for you too much to see you have to carry that burden. You wanted to be like us, but we wanted you to be better.”
By now most people in the room were wet-eyed—especially the two other Peters who knew all too well what being a hero could cost. Jackie wipes more fallen tears from Peters cheeks. “So now—because what’s done is done—we’re not gonna let this define you. Okay? We’re gonna take it slow, make sure May gets the proper service she deserves,” she pauses when he lets out another sob. “And we’re gonna make sure these two,” she gestures to the other Peters, “get home safe. From there its baby steps, okay?” Peter nods and Jackie brings him to her. “Now c’mere.”
Peter didn’t hesitate wrapping his arms around Jackie. His head went to her shoulder while her head gently laid on his given the small height difference and Peter bathed in the comfort she was giving him. The emotion that had built finally let out and Peter felt her arms tighten around him. He cried and cried for what felt like hours, feeling like a kid in need of its mother. In need of family.
Her hand came to gently run through his hair and after several moments Peter pulled away. “T-thank you, Jackie. I really appreciate it.”
“You’re welcome, kid.” She sighs, full of exhaustion. “I’m so so happy you’re okay.” She finally gives a smile and Peter returns with a small one.
“I am—,” his voice cracks again. “I am really sorry.”
“I know,” she nods, patting his shoulder and rubbing it affectionally. “We’ll get through this.” The air was slowly dissolving of its tension now that the scolding had concluding. Though everyone was still a little taken aback by what had played out. Jackie straightened her posture, adjusting her dress shirt collar. “So what’s the update with Strange? He didn’t tell me much just that we’ve got some VIP visitors for the next couple days,” she turns to the Peters, walking over the few paces to extend her hand. “Jacqueline Stark, but you may call me Jackie.”
Peter 3 was who she approached first, and honestly the man couldn’t find his voice. Both by his sudden fanboy after learning about her on the plane and for witnessing first hand what can happen if you get on her bad side. “Da-uh hi,” he stutters, taking her hand in his. “I’m Peter—like him, Peter Parker. Nice to meet you, I’m—I’m a big fan.” He lets go of her hand with a smile, “You’re really cool—amazing I should actually say.”
Jackies eyes sparkle with amusement, lips curling up slightly. “You boys already caught up on all there is in this world?” She steps to the left to shake Peter 2s hand. “Didn’t think you’d be able to get through all the hell this planet has gone through in such little time.”
Peter 2 shakes her hand. “We had a little history lesson on the plane—from Karen.” He watchers her mutter an ‘ah.’ “It’s nice to meet you Jackie. I’m also Peter Parker.” He laughs at how ridiculous it had sounded, noticing how Jackie had chuckled a bit. “And I agree with Peter, you’re a pretty amazing person from what we’ve heard—truly inspiring.”
“Thank you,” she nods with gratitude. “It’s been a hell of life—overextended as I mentioned earlier. But this world just seems to always be full of surprises. You boys are just one of many in the long list as you probably heard of.” They both nod, muttering ‘that’s the truth.’
“I’m not gonna lie,” Peter 3 started. “When he first mentioned the Avengers I truly thought you were some band—I thought it was so cool there was a version of me in a band.”
Jackie couldn’t stop the laugh escaping, “Oh how I wish that was the type of band we were. We are a band of some sort, but unfortunately not that type. Although we do have drama and fight a lot where people seem to come and go.” Jackie steps away to tap something on table making a blue hologram screen pop up. “Strange told me he’s working on how to get you two home, but it’s gonna take some time. For the time being we can get you set up here on our east wing—its where our apartments are for Avengers when they are inactive and need a place to stay or just want to hang out for the time being. How does that sound for you two?”
The two look at each other before nodding. “That’s great.” “Yeah-yeah that works cool.”
Jackie nods, tapping away some buttons. “You’ll have access to all the there is in the east wing. There’s a pool and gym on the bottom level. All apartments are equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and laundry area. If you need anything F.R.I.D.A.Y or H.O.W.I.E can help you, all you gotta do is call for them.
“And you,” Jackie suddenly looks to Peter 1. “I’m also gonna get you set up. You don’t have a place at the moment and I wanna keep an eye on you while you’re on time out—no debate,” she cuts him off when he tries to protest. “Baby steps remember? We got things to do before I let you get back into action. Happy you want me to get you a room?”
“If you don’t mind,” he waves from his place on the couch. “I’ll probably need at least a few weeks until I can find a new place.” Peter (1) couldn’t help but cringe, knowing it was his fault Happy lost his home.
“Sounds good,” Jackie hums before looking up at the two teenagers she had forgot were in the room. Her brow rises, “And what about you two? Are you staying at least for tonight or are your families expecting you to be back?”
Ned and Mj freeze, looking at each other and Peter (1). “Uhh,” Mj says. “I can call and ask? They don’t really know we’re here. Happy didn’t tell us on the plane.” Jackie drops her head, mumbling incoherent words.
“H.O.W.I.E.?”
“Yes, ma’am?”
“Have reception know they need to get four rooms available in the east wing—make sure one is close to my residence, and please send word to Mr. Leeds and Miss. Watsons families they will be staying with us tonight to sort out some Avengers level business.” Ned, Mj, and Peter (1) all look at each other with jaws dropped.
“Right away, ma’am.” H.O.W.I.E replies and Jackie finishes up whatever she was typing on the keypad before looking up at the group. “Ned and our Peter will be sharing a room,” Jackie then looks to the other two peters. “You two will share a room. And Mj and Happy will each have their own. I set it to where you boys will be close together cause each floor has two apartments and then Mj you’ll be staying closer to I am.” Jackie steps away, pulling a pair of yellowish gold pair of glasses similar to what Tony always wore from her suit pocket.
She puts the glasses on, gesturing for them to follow her and they all head toward the door. “Where are we going?” Peter (3) asks curiously, glancing one last time at the display cases of her wings.
“Gonna give you all a tour,” she tells them, looking back with a smirk. “Might as well make you all feel at home—for the time being at least.” Jackie taps the side of her glasses and the golden door automatically opens causing the group —minus Happy —to go ‘woah.’
“You have a lot to learn—some people to meet. We don’t have much time so let me be the first to welcome you to Avengers Campus.”

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
February 14th - Misty Knight
Mercedes ‘Misty’ Knight grew up in New York City. She graduated from the Police Academy with honors and joined the NYPD rising through the ranks quickly and earning the rank of detective. During her tenure as a police officer, Misty became good friends with Colleen Wing. Misty joined the bomb squad of NYPD and on one of her missions, she faced a terrorist group that had armed a bomb that could not be defused. Misty disposed of the bomb and saved her colleagues but was terribly injured. She survived yet ended up losing her right arm.
Misty’s heroism peaked the interest of Tony Stark who asked Misty to participate in an experiment with a bionic prosthetic. As such, Misty was outfitted with a bionic arm. The arm looked no different from Misty’s original arm, yet possessed enhanced strength and durability and Misty learned to use it with the same level of skill and fluidity as the original.
Misty opted to leave the NYPD and together with Coleen Wing they formed the private investigation firm, Nightwing Restorations, Ltd. One of their investigation led them afoul of the fanatical sect known as The Cult of Kali. Colleen was abducted by these cultists and Misty ended up joining forces with the super hero called Iron Fist. Together they rescued Coleen and brought the cult down. It would be the first of many adventures alongside Iron Fist and Misty and Danny Rand (Iron Fist’s civilian identity) would become romantically involved.
A subsequent case saw he trio fighting against and then alongside Luke Cage in a plot instigated by the villainous Bushmaster. The adventure led to Cage and Iron Fist forming The Heroes for Hire, who would join forces with Misty and Colleen on numerous occasions.
During the first super hero Civil War event, Misty and Coleen were contacted by Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Spider-Man to create a new iteration of The Heroes for Hire tasked with tracking down and apprehending those super powered individuals who refused to comply with the Superhuman Registration Act (SHRA). Initially hesitant, the pair eventually created a team and Misty became one of the 142 registered superheroes who were part of the Avengers Initiative Program. It put a great strain on Misty's relationship with Danny Rand, as he had joined the New Avengers roster acting in opposition to the SHRA. This new version of The Heroes for Hire eventually disbanded following casualties that occurred during he World War Hulk event.
Sometime later, Misty became involved in an investigation that saw her teaming up with The Shroud, The Paladin and Silver Sable. Together they were able to take down a ring of corrupt police officers who were utilizing the upheaval of the Shadowland event to rob and murder suspected criminals. Misty and Danny rekindled their romance for a short while and were briefly engaged to marry, yet the two could never quite work it out. They ultimately chose to separate and remain friends.
After some time out of action, Misty next showed up as an undercover agent in Bagalia, a crime-ruled nation where a new Hydra cell had placed their main base. Seeing Sam Wilson, the All-New Captain America, wounded and in a fight with Crossbones, Misty stepped in to help him, revealing her undercover work to Sam.
Misty and Sam worked together for a while and became romantically involved. Despite some difficult times, they remained together even as Sam gave up the Captain America mantle to return to his original moniker as The Falcon. More recently, both Misty and Colleen accepted positions at the Beyond Corporation.
A version of Misty Knight features prominently in the MCU Netflix television series Cage where her character was portrayed by actress Simone Missick. Misty first appeared in the pages of Marvel Premiere #21 (1974).

Hallway Crush
Elvis Presley x BAMF!OC Fem
Toni Stark is unlike any of the women Elvis has known. She's insanely intelligent, witty, and doesn't stand for anyone's shit. He develops a crush on her from afar, giving longing glances every time he sees her exiting press conferences when he's on the way to his concerts. Toni never notices him, more focused on escaping flashing cameras. But, what happens when Toni is gone for three months and comes back a changed woman with a certain glowing contraption in her chest?
Or: Toni Starks stays at the International Hotel pouring her time into the party life and meaningless one-night-stands. Elvis has a fierce interest in her, but then she's captured in Afghanistan and eventually comes back to Vegas as a workaholic and the metal hero we all know and love.
Not placed in the MCU or its timeline, I'm just using versions of the characters and their backstories in this story. Also will not be historically accurate when it comes to American politics and wars of the time. Priscilla does not exist in this story. Also not betaed.
Chapter 1: Let’s Start at the Beginning…
Antonia Margaret Stark was born during a catastrophic thunderstorm on May 29, 1945, foreshadowing the immense impact she would have on the world around her. Her loving mother, Maria Stark, was thrilled to welcome her baby girl into the world, while Howard Stark, Antonia's father, was quite the opposite. He needed a son. He had written in his will that his eldest child was to inherit the ownership of Stark Industries when he passed. Such a position was not meant for a woman. And he couldn't try to make an exception and have another child, as he and Maria already struggled to bring Antonia about. He was stuck and already held a grudge against his daughter for simply being born a female.
So, growing up, Antonia, or Toni as she would prefer to be called, was constantly pushed away by her father when she ever showed an interest in his line of work. At age 7, she had wandered into her father's office to show him a mechanical toy car she had built. He had been in a meeting with Obadiah Stane, Toni called him Uncle Obie, and when Howard was interrupted by the little girl's voice shouting, "Daddy, look what I made!" he slammed the door right on Toni, resulting in a few of her toes being broken. She didn't even have the energy to cry, too shocked to even feel the stabbing pain running up her left foot. When her mother found her crumpled on the floor by Howard's office door, her toy car scattered around her in pieces, Maria did not need to question what happened. She knew of Howard's distaste for their only child. Her mother simply bowed down to scoop Toni off the ground and laid her in her bed, calling a doctor to fix her foot.
Throughout elementary and middle school, Toni proved to be more intelligent than some of her teachers. She always won top prize in science fairs and spelling bees. Her mother was always there offering her sweet smiles of reassurance as well as her Aunt Peggy, one of her father's old friends from the military, who Toni looked up to for her strength, was there looking at her with pride. Uncle Jarvis, Howard's right-hand-man, was sure to attend every single one, being the father figure Toni never had. Even Uncle Obie had managed to come to a few of her events, apologizing for Howard's absence, claiming he was too "busy" with board meetings and inventing the next big military weapon.
From then on, Toni made it her life's mission to prove her father wrong, and show that she could be just as successful as him, if not more. Luckily, she was not alone in her journey, her mother supported her, buying her the textbooks she wanted and helping her change her bedroom into a lab space for her to experiment. And, of course, she had her Aunt Peggy and Uncle Jarvis who would come to the house to tell Howard about their adventures, but would always devote time to listen to Toni ramble on about electric circuits and whatever new scientific discovery she had made. Uncle Jarvis was the only man in Toni's life she truly trusted. He taught her how to ride a bike and tie her shoes. But, she had a special bond with her Aunt Peggy as well, her hardiness and red lipstick just two of the things Toni had admired about her aunt. She always took Peggy's advice, to always stick up for herself; not to move, but make others move instead.
At age 13, Toni was already enrolled at MIT, breezing through her courses, rarely paying attention to the lessons, having the occasional professor call her up to the board to solve an equation to which she would break down with ease. In 1958, she was the youngest and only female student at MIT. She was sure her name had something to do with her enrollment, but she also knew her credentials were beyond extraordinary. She constantly had a target on her back, not missing the sneers some of the boys give her, assuming she only got in on the basis of who her father was. But, she had many accomplishments at MIT, including her invention of the first form of Artificial Intelligence. She decided to create a robot to help her with her tools, which prompted her to try a new type of coding where the robot’s skills developed by learning through experiences. It also caused the robot to gain personality traits, one of which being its blatant ignorance, earning it the name of DUM-E. She graduated at age 17 with an undergraduate degree in computer science and molecular biology and eventually received two master’s degrees in engineering by age 19.
After her time at MIT, Toni spent her days on minor projects for Stark Industries because of her father’s refusal to give her an official position in the company. It was better than nothing, she told herself. She was participating in the hands-on aspects of the engineering, experimenting with welding and proper wire placement. Most of the time she had the fellow engineers question her methods or tell her to leave and let the men do the work. Her life went on like this for two years, she was content(ish), but felt she was ready to move on to bigger things.
Then December 16, 1966 rolled around which would cause Toni’s life to take a full 180. It seemed like a normal winter day, she woke up to go to the lab, before wishing her parents safe travels for their visit to the Pentagon. Her father shrugged her off with annoyance and told her not to make a mess of his penthouse while they were away. Her mother stood on her toes to kiss Toni’s forehead, before she said her last words to her daughter, “Farewell, Gioia, show those stuck-ups that you’re a Stark,” she whispered the last part before grabbing her bag and walking out of Toni’s life forever with the shutting of a door.
While working on a new rotator for the latest missile, one of the welders had handed her a rusted phone after saying, “It’s for you, Stark,” Her eyes became watery as she heard the monotone voice on the other end tell her that her parents were in a fatal car accident while en route to the Pentagon. She dropped the phone and ran into the tiny ladies’ restroom before getting sick in one of the toilets. Her father had taken her mother away from her. He took everything from Toni. Her mother was gone. Her sweet, caring, innocent mother who had seen Toni’s potential when her father hadn’t. Her mother who had made her tea and tiramisu after having a bad day at MIT. Her mother who silently stood up against Howard by supporting Toni’s passion. She would never see her again. Toni had never felt so helpless in her life. She crumpled on the dusty bathroom tile and sobbed into her knees for hours until someone had called Uncle Obie to come looking for her. When he found her in her fetal position, he pulled her onto her feet before speaking solemnly, “Come on, your mother wouldn’t want to see you like this,” Toni let out a sob at the mention of her mother before he continued, “Let’s get you home.” But Toni knew her home would no longer be home anymore without the smell of her mother’s perfume or her homemade Italian meals.
The funeral was quiet with only close friends and family in attendance. Aunt Peggy and Uncle Jarvis were there with their arms around Toni and their eyes stuck on the shiny caskets. Obadiah had wanted Toni to say a few words for her lost parents. Toni rambled on about her mother's proud Italian roots and how she devoted her time to philanthropy and helping those in need. How she never let her own emotions get in the way of helping others. How gloomy this world will be without her bright smile. Then it came to talk about Howard. Toni talked of his scientific discoveries and how the weapons industry would not be as advanced without him. She never told of anything personal because there was nothing to tell.
As Toni watched the dirt pour onto her parents' caskets, she discovered that she would do whatever she needed to do to reach the top of the pyramid. If it meant working until her body and mind broke, she would do it. She was no longer just Toni, she was Toni Stark.
After Obadiah Stane’s temporary position as CEO, Toni took over at age 21, being the youngest and only female CEO of any corporation, ever. She was a revolutionary, and she let it get to her head. She built weapons more advanced than her father’s, working herself to the bone for countless hours, becoming a scientific prodigy. The stocks rose drastically, until eventually Toni Stark had more money than God with too many properties, cars, and expensive paintings to count. Her life became a constant cycle of working in her lab for days, coming out for a day or two of partying, drinking, gambling, and meaningless sex with handsome journalists she would charm into her hotel room. She hid her pain behind lavish clothing, self-importance, and sarcasm.
She got herself an assistant, Pepper Potts, who was more a babysitter than a personal assistant, but they had an understanding of each other that led to an unbreakable friendship. She also had her butch security guard and chauffeur, Happy Hogan, who was hired more for Toni’s teasing than security purposes. But, most important of all, she met her best friend, her platonic soulmate, James Rhodes, or Rhodey Bear as Toni liked to call him. They met through the constant meetings between Toni and the military superiors. They immediately clicked and haven’t left each other’s side since. He went from U.S. Air Force officer to Toni Stark's best friend and the military's chief liaison to Stark Industries' weapons division. He was her rock and the voice of reason in her fuck-up of a life, cleaning the messes she left behind. He was the only one who saw the real side of Toni, past the façade of the rich, genius, playgirl, and instead saw the raw, emotional wreck of a human. And he never judged her for her true self, just held her when she cried.
When Toni wasn’t in New York for boring meetings and whatnot, she spent her days in the new International Hotel in Las Vegas. She had her own special penthouse built in the hotel with a lab for her late-night inventions and enough room to house 5 families. Her only companions were her two bots DUM-E and Butterfingers, who she'd brought from New York to stay in her hotel room. Though occasionally Pepper or Rhodey would visit for business inquiries, but most people knew to leave her alone while she was in Vegas. She spent her days in the VIP lounge smoking cigarettes, drinking and flirting with men twice her age. Vegas reminded her of herself, it was full of chaos and it never slept. It was her escape from New York, the escape from the death of her mother and her father’s dissatisfaction. So, Vegas is where she stayed.

In 2019, after a decade of theatrical releases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) reached new heights of box office success with the release of Avengers: Endgame, the second-highest-grossing film of all time. Earning just under $2.8 billion globally, it’s little surprise that Disney (the home of the MCU) and Sony Pictures (which holds the film rights to Spider-Man) decided to join forces in order to engineer another such cultural event.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland leads his third stand-alone film as the web-slinger, but this time the filmmakers have ported in characters from Sony’s two previous Spider-Man franchises, where Tobey Maguire and then Andrew Garfield donned the iconic red-and-blue suit. The storyline allows Holland’s Spider-Man to get some much-needed distance from the Avengers — though Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) plays a supporting role — and it provides an opportunity to contrast his version of the character with those past portrayals.
A Working-Class Hero
In the beginning of director Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man, Uncle Ben and Aunt May are in the kitchen of their working-class home in Queens discussing their finances. After thirty-five years, Ben has been laid off from his job as a senior electrician because, as he says, “the corporation is downsizing the people and upsizing their profits.” May reminds him they’ve had tough financial patches in the past, and they’ll get through this one too.
This scene roots the story of Spider-Man in a working-class household, and it’s a constant feature in his life and the lives of those he cares about. Maguire’s Peter Parker does all manner of jobs to make a bit of money, such as participating in a wrestling match, selling photos of himself as Spider-Man, and even delivering pizza in the second film. Meanwhile, his neighbor (and longtime crush) Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) has to wait tables at a diner as she tries to become a stage actress.
They’re not rich people, and their finances shape their stories throughout Raimi’s trilogy. Raimi shows us how Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson bullies Peter into accepting meager pay for his Spider-Man photos while Mary Jane’s boss berates her after her shift. At home, Peter’s landlord snatches the $20 his aunt gave him for his birthday right out of his hands, citing back rent, while the bank refuses to do anything to help Aunt May refinance her home, forcing her to move out. But while the “good” characters are under the foot of capitalists, the same can’t be said for the first villain of Raimi’s trilogy.
Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) is an incredibly wealthy man who runs Oscorp, a chemical company and military contractor. He’s also the father of Peter’s best friend, Harry, and while he initially presents himself as someone Peter can trust, he becomes Spider-Man’s chief adversary when he inhales a performance-enhancing chemical and becomes the Green Goblin. After trying to kill Peter and threatening the lives of Mary Jane and Aunt May, Osborn eventually kills himself after miscalculating an attack on Spider-Man.
Here in Raimi’s original trilogy, the wealthy CEO is no hero and Peter pays a heavy price for his proximity to the billionaire Osborn. It’s a far cry from how Marvel’s Kevin Feige frames the story of Holland’s Spider-Man and his mentor, the charismatic superhero billionaire Tony Stark (aka Iron Man).
The Billionaire’s Apprentice
When the MCU’s first stand-alone Spidey film, Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), introduces its lead, the audience for once doesn’t get an origin story for the character. Instead, we’re treated to a video log catching us up on the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), when Spider-Man appears at a battle in Berlin after being recruited by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr). This introduction limits the ability of Holland’s Spider-Man to develop his own non-Avenger identity, especially when paired with the influence Stark has in shaping who he becomes.
When he’s not suited up as Iron Man, Tony Stark plays various roles at Stark Industries, an arms manufacturer whose weapons are used to wreak havoc around the world while making Stark himself fabulously wealthy. In Raimi’s Spider-Man, the rich man is the bad guy, but in Homecoming and the films that follow, he’s the hero that Peter looks up to. Peter’s association with Stark also alleviates his financial worries, to the point that if he ever comments about not having much money, it’s hard for the audience to take seriously.
To illustrate that contrast, Homecoming’s villain is the Vulture, also known as Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton). Toomes isn’t a billionaire playboy; he runs a salvage business that aids in the cleanup of New York City after it was wrecked in The Avengers (2012). Despite making the investments necessary to fulfill a salvage contract, the project is taken over by the Department of Damage Control, a joint initiative between Stark Industries and the US government, and Toomes’s salvage business goes under. When his livelihood is taken from him by the same billionaire that helped destroy his city, he turns to arms trafficking to provide for his family and keep his crew employed.
Instead of capitalists oppressing Peter and those he cares about, as in Sony’s first Spider-Man trilogy, in the MCU, a billionaire is to be worshipped, while the people he’s harmed are the enemies. In the second film, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), the villain and his team are once again people who’ve been mistreated by Stark and his company, while murals are erected to honor the deceased Iron Man. Unlike in Raimi’s trilogy, where the villains are troubled figures being pulled between good and evil, Feige does not allow Spider-Man’s adversaries the same nuance, despite their legitimate grievances.
The Corrupting Force of Technology
In Disney’s MCU, wealth isn’t the only concept whose representation is reshaped to align with ideas that serve powerful interests — even the costumes have transitioned from cheap spandex to something out of a Northrop Grumman catalog.
Take Tony Stark, a billionaire who has no real superpower of his own. Instead, he has the ultra-expensive gadgetry built into his Iron Man suit — tech he gives to Holland’s Spider-Man. As a result, the audience gets a very different picture of technology, its consequences, and its military applications than in Raimi’s films.
In Homecoming, Spider-Man’s suit has a dizzying array of advanced weaponry built into it, along with an AI assistant and a connection to Stark Industries’ military surveillance network. Once its restrictions are removed, Spider-Man has access to facial recognition, tracking capabilities, taser webs, and many more invasive and deadly options. In Far From Home, those capabilities are enhanced after Stark leaves him a pair of connected sunglasses (he accidentally calls a precision strike on one of his classmates while wearing them). In a world of NSA surveillance and drone warfare, superheroes gain those capabilities — in Spider-Man’s case, often for comedic effect — to normalize the actions of the US military. (The Pentagon has long shaped the portrayal of the military in Disney’s MCU, including in the Iron Man movies.)
Conversely, Raimi’s trilogy takes a much more critical approach to technology. And when the military shows up, it works with Oscorp, not Spider-Man. In those films, Spider-Man’s powers are biological, to the point that his body produces its own webs. (Holland’s Spider-Man uses web cartridges.) In Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 (2004), Dr Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) wants to create a mini-sun to power the world and builds a set of mechanical arms equipped with an AI to help manage the fusion reaction.
But when he loses control of the energy, it fries the chip that keeps him in command of the arms and the AI turns him into Doctor Octopus — a villain driven to complete the project at any cost. These technologies, just like the Green Goblin’s sled and suit in the 2002 Spider-Man, are corruptions for their characters, not enhancements. Yet for Amy Pascal, the producer who oversees Spider-Man at Sony, a hero that was connected to Iron Man and “rooted more in technological innovation” felt “much more modern,” even as it robbed the character of its soul.
What Future for Spider-Man?
As part of the MCU, Holland’s Spider-Man has little time for the people of New York City. He travels around the world and even into outer space to fulfill his duties. And when he is in New York, he’s more of a nuisance than a help.
But Raimi’s working-class Spider-Man is rooted in his city. In Spider-Man 2, after an iconic sequence where Spider-Man stops a subway train from running off the tracks, the passengers catch him as he falls, then pull him into the train and promise to keep his identity a secret when he reawakens. For them, Spider-Man is not a superhero, he’s one of them — another working-class, outer-borough New Yorker.
In that movie, Aunt May explains that “there’s a hero in all of us.” She isn’t trying to say that everyone can be an Avenger, but that everyone has a part of themselves that strives to do the right thing, just as parents sacrifice for their kids and residents work to better their communities every single day. It’s those actions that allow people “to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most, even our dreams.” Maguire’s Peter Parker isn’t an outlier; he’s just doing that in his own way, reflecting his circumstances.
As an Avenger, Holland’s Spider-Man is too busy trying to live up to Iron Man to settle into the role of a friendly neighborhood hero, but No Way Home leaves the door open to a new life for the character. To send the heroes and villains from the previous Spider-Man franchises back to their own timelines — spoiler alert — Holland’s Peter has to make a sacrifice of his own: everyone who’s ever known him has to forget who he is. After Doctor Strange casts the spell, the film ends with Peter moving into a dated studio apartment with no friends, no Avengers, and no money. He’s finally able to chart his own path.
No Way Home had the third-biggest global opening weekend ever, pulling in more than $600 million even without a release in China, so it’s no surprise that Sony and Disney want to continue their lucrative partnership. Holland is set to return for another trilogy of Spider-Man films, but it’s not clear which path his story will take.
The studios could take the easy route of having him find a way to bring everything back to normal, then step into Iron Man’s shoes and wield his impressive array of military technologies. But they could also take a more daring approach.
By resetting Peter’s relationships, a more mature version of Holland’s character could return to his roots and become the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man he was meant to be. Even more crucially, he could reassess his relationship with Tony Stark — recognizing the billionaire arms manufacturer who conscripted a teenager into a paramilitary force was maybe a villain all along. It would be a compelling storyline and one that would challenge the MCU’s devout fanbase.
But allowing the space for critical reflection might also jeopardize Iron Man’s status as a reliable cash cow. Since Disney has led the charge to reorient cinema around bland, action-packed blockbusters, the choice between taking a risk on a bankable property or continuing to rely on its successful formula is an easy one. Disney will take the money.

A basic-ish summary of every MCU movie villain and antagonist for those who aren’t into the MCU like I am.
(Not counting shows because I’m not THAT insane. Also Spoilers, but you probably don’t care if you’ve either seen some of these films or have no intention on watching them.)
PHASE 1 (Not a lot of good villains here I’m afraid)
Iron Man’s Iron Monger- The first of many to steal Tony’s tech and your average ‘corrupt businessman’ who was like Tony’s co-worker/surrogate dad-mentor. Also happens to be The Dude. Kind of not impressive for the first canonical MCU villain.
Incredible Hulk’s General Ross and Abomination– The best example as to why the MCU isn’t as pro-military as you may think. (And later was dumb enough to think he’d have any power over the Avengers). The other one is your basic ‘villain with powers equal to the hero’ who ends up becoming one of the better characters in She-Hulk.
Iron Man 2’s Whiplash and Justin Hammer–I honestly haven’t seen this movie, but basically it’s another ‘guy who steals Tony’s tech’ and has whips, but not the fun kind. Also some dude who I think is meant to be the discount version of Tony Stark (and is played by an actor whose voice you might recognize as one of Dreamworks Animation’s best furry icons.)
Thor– Thor’s trickster brother who is the first of the most memorable villains…. And one of many ‘Tumblr Sexy Men.’ Comes off as smarter than Thor (and you might like to know what he’s SUPPOSED to look like if you have a thing for giant men in Marvel’s ‘What if”). Honestly I think Thor is the more attractive brother.
Captain America’s Red Skull–The head of a fictional branch of one of the most hated political parties in history so yes you should immediately hate him…. Also I’m angry because THAT is how you could pull off an accurate book version of the Phantom of the Opera with make up.
Avengers’ Loki–Loki again, but at least they picked a good villain for the big crossover. Screws with everyone’s heads for most of the film and tries opening a portal to space with a ‘totally not going to be important later on’ scepter and cube. Honestly his defeat at the hands of the Hulk made me laugh so hard that it’s still funny years later.
PHASE 2 (Slightly better, but mostly ehh...)
Iron Man 3’s Mandarin–I’ve never seen this movie either, but the villain managed to anger a lot of the comic book fans for a good reason. Hope you aren’t an Iron Man fan if you know what I’m talking about. But chances are you know the twist because it’s that famous.
Thor Dark World’s Malekeith–…. Damnit you just HAD to waste poor Christopher Eccleston’s talent, didn’t you? You promised me his character would get a good back story, but you’re dumb obsession with Loki cut down his screen time and turned him into another generic doomsday/conquering villain who just happens to be an elven version of Two-Face by a certain point.
Captain America’s Winter Soldier–Steve’s handsome brainwashed buddy with a metal arm. Was made so by Red Skull’s main right hand man whose idea of immortality makes black and green computer screens into nightmare fuel. Was also put on ice and un-frozen and re-frozen several times throughout the years. Oh yeah and something about a twist villain but I think you’d figure out who it was almost instantly.
Guardian’s of the Galaxy’s…. Ok wow I’m seriously blanking out on his name right now… Oh yeah, Ronan– Another genocidal maniac who wants to kill people just because. Was stupid enough to be distracted by Star-Lord’s dancing of all things. He’s especially lame.
Avenger’s Age of Ultron’s Ultron–Tony’s never ending bucket of dumb ideas leads to the creation of a genocidal robot who sounds like that California guy from The Office. His idealized ‘final form’ gets its own personality and becomes Wanda’s boyfriend before he gets dibs on it. He’s… somewhat entertaining, but kind of ‘eh’ at the same time.
Ant Man’s Yellow Jacket–ANOTHER ‘corrupt businessman’ who makes poor choices like doing business with Hydra people or going after Scott’s daughter. The latter proves to be the last mistake of his life and I would have personally kicked his ass if he harmed that sweet child. Also pretty bland. I heard he’d be coming back for Ant-Man 3, but I’ll be annoyed if he become’s the MCU version of M.O.D.O.K. like I heard about.
PHASE 3 (They get a lot better here… also Thanos is here too.)
Captain America Civil War’s Zemo–some random Sokovia survivor that did the impossible and turned the Avenger’s against each other…. At least we got a couple of good fight scenes between the heroes thanks to him.
Doctor Strange’s Kaecelius and Dorammu (or was it Dormammu? Some of these names are nuts)–That guy from Hannibal, but with magical powers, bad eye make up, and was dumb enough to not read the fine print. The other is a large purple dude (no, not that one) from another dimension that Strange defeats by trapping him in a time loop and thus annoys him into leaving. I’m guessing he’ll be important later.
Guardian’s of the Galaxy 2’s Ego–A giant planet that managed to turn into Kurt Russell and is basically Star-lord’s biological dad. Does and did some horrible stuff, but I don’t want to spoil it because the ‘wham’ moment, but it made me go ‘oh no’ right before Peter reacted.
Oh yeah, there’s also a golden lady and a guy with a name that people make fun of as if he’s a Captain Underpants villain, but they just serve as obstacles.
Spider Man Homecoming’s Vulture–A guy that got screwed over by the government and Tony turns to the black market with stolen alien tech, and flies around in a flight suit that’s way cooler than the comic book version. Is played by none other than the original Beetlejuice and 1989!Batman. Somehow ends up in what appears to be one of the least liked superhero films ever several years later (and even the die-hard fans are confused as hell by that).
Thor Ragnarok’s Hela and Grandmaster–If you wanted a hot female villain who wants to conquer you, has an understandable rage about being erased from history, and has a soft spot for her giant doggo, then boy do I have good news for you. Also there’s an obvious slave owner played by Jeff Goldblum so of course you’ll find him despicable, but he’s Jeff Goldblum so of course you’ll be too charmed to care.
Black Panther’s Killmonger–T’Challa’s cousin who has understandable reasons for wanting to lash out at people who harmed all black people across history and modern times, but is too full of anger to realize why his methods are wrong. Would also make for a TERRIBLE boyfriend, so I hope you don’t fantasize over him. I can’t really find much to make fun of this guy since a lot about him really isn’t that funny and his final lines will haunt you long after you’ve seen this movie.
Avenger’s Infinity War’s Thanos- The giant purple dude obsessed with getting all the stones in order to make a gauntlet. Thinks killing half the universe’s population will save the universe. A favorite amongst most MCU fans and movie fans… but honestly he’s an abusive dad, so he doesn’t deserve much praise.
Also has four children with different names related to the color black, but you’ll only care about his other kids so I’m not going to bother describing them.
Ant Man and the Wasp’s Ghost–Lives up to her name by not being completely solid, but also completely hates it because it’s killing her… Ok, look–some villains WANT to be cured or get health care which was what Ava wanted and her condition did seem pretty awful. It was nice to see Janet heal her and then Scott and the Pym family made sure she’d have access to what was basically free health care and medication. (Is also going to appear in the Thunderbolts film and I won’t be surprised if she’s shipped with either Yelena or Antonia.)
Captain Marvel’s… was it Yorg? Rogg? Yrog?–Typical ‘mentor who is actually the bad guy.’ Honestly it says a lot that the cat was the best part of this movie.
Avenger’s Endgame’s Thanos–Basically Thanos from 2014, but still a tenacious A hole that tries to keep the Avengers from undoing what his future self did instead of just letting things play out. I mean it DOES lead to an awesome epic final battle (though the best experience comes if you’ve seen MOST of these films by this point). But the fact that he caught onto it feels like a ‘need to have an obstacle.’
Spiderman Far From Home’s Mysterio–They REALLY thought they could pull a twist villain? Seriously?! It’s a freaking Spiderman villain, why would you pull that off with this guy?! Anyway its some dude that claims to be a hero from another universe, but he’s ANOTHER person who Tony somehow annoyed. Uses special effects and illusions, a team of misused Stark employees, the drones he steals from Peter… but is too stupid to listen to any warnings when it comes to his personal safety. Is also a huge gaslighter and the kind of person you wouldn’t want in your life.
PHASE 4 (Some of these were surprises, but there’s more in the Disney plus shows that I’m not covering here.)
Black Widow’s General… Drekov? Drakov? (I give up). And Taskmaster–He’s not a good villain. Your typical evil general even. But he had a lot of women brainwashed to be his soldiers and had them sterile whether they wanted it or not, so of course you’ll hate this disgusting pig like I did. (And he gets defeated and it is oh so satisfying when it happens.) Taskmaster… you’ll either like the reveal or hate it, but a non-spoiler detail is that they are the ‘anything you can do I can copy it.’
Shang Chi’s Wenwu–A once immortal evil overlord that gave it all up to live in peace with his wife and raise a family. But proved to be a tragic reason why ‘going straight’ doesn’t come without a cost when his wife dies. Ends up going evil again and puts his kids through hell. And then thinks his wife’s village resurrected and abducted her so he’s trying to bring her back. Honestly I can’t find it in me to make fun of this guy, but losing your wife doesn’t give you a reason to be a shitty or neglectful parent.
Eternals’…. It’s a mix of Arishem, Kro, and Ikaris (yeah, no surprise there)– Some giant space god who created the Eternals and told them not to interfere with Earth’s fights (explaining why they were missing from key films) whose using our planet as an egg that’ll kill us when a new space God comes out. And is also voiced by the same guy who voices Sesshomaru (no seriously I’m NOT making that up). Kro… is one of the monsters the Eternals fights that gains powers every time he kills one of them… and Ikaris is ‘TWIST VILLAIN’ who is only so because he is stubbornly devoted to Arishem’s intents… and he’s like one of the blandest MCU character’s imaginable.
Spiderman No Way Home’s… ok there’s five villains (sadly we were one short of having an actual Sinister Six line up) and they get their own entries:
Green Goblin–Here to make Peter suffer and to remind the other MCU villains what a TRUE super comic book villain is meant to be. Back to scare the crap out of you and gets to ditch the mask to allow Dafoe’s terrifyingly good acting on full display. Rightfully earns his position among the MCU’s scariest villains and will keep you on edge if you’ve seen the original Spiderman film.
Doc Ock- A reversible Octo plushie in human form who just happens to look attractive. Provides one of the best fight scenes in the MCU, but gets one of the most amusing of defeats at the same time. If you’ve seen Spiderman 2 and care about him as much as I did, you will also love his character arc. He was also the main reason I wanted to see this movie since he’s my favorite. (And thank GOD they didn’t do the body swap thing from the comics).
Electro–Thor’s villainous counterpart minus a hammer…. Well actually its still Electro, but throw away the blue theme, give him a better outfit, and let Jamie Foxx do this thing. Also a MASSIVE improvement over his first appearance that has nods to his comic-book self. Not to good when it comes to making sure he destroys something properly.
Sandman–Name pretty much says it. Just fed up with everything like most people who don’t care about the MCU and wants to go home to his daughter.
Lizard–A scaly boy that just wants to turn people into lizards and also knows like the audience that things will inevitably go sideways. Ends up in the truck during a chunk of the film for reasons that are obviously to save money. Probably one of the few characters in the MCU to be naked throughout the entire movie.
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ Scarlet Witch-What happens when an MCU hero turns evil and kills almost everyone on sight just to be able to kill an innocent teenaged girl for her powers. A worthy successor to Sam Raimi’s villains and who manages to be genuinely scary in a few scenes. Also I hope you watched WandaVision before seeing this movie otherwise somethings won’t make sense… oh right, the real villain here must have been Disney Plus in that case.
Thor Love and Thunder’s Gorr–What happens when a God fails to protect their people. Goes killing gods (which we won’t see much of) because one of them was a lazy ass who wouldn’t save his daughter from death. Probably one of the few best things about this movie and honestly you’d be rooting for this guy after seeing how most of the gods in this film ARE actual jerkasses. Also the movie wants to make him scary but he’s either too tragic or too corny for me to be scared of him.
And though I have yet to see it and it’s hard to tell if Namor should count as an actual villain yet, I propose that the REAL villain for the last film of phase 4 to be….
Black Panther Wakanda Forever’s…. The cancer that killed Chadwick Boseman– F*** you. You took away a wonderful human being from the world. A compassionate person who was well loved and admired by many. A man who was an actual king in spirit with true dignity and grace. You took T’Challa from us, but his legacy will live on in both the MCU and in the real world. And while I’m at at, F*** you for killing so many others that didn’t deserve to die so soon.

To carry on the MCU Peter anon: would you ever write a multiverse / blend where your Peter meets a more MCU Peter (actual MCU Peter not the fanon created one)? And/or initimable Peter meeting another version you’ve created?
Also, would you ever write a MJ (my beloved) POV fic?
Hey boo
So Question 1: I did a little piece with a MCU/Inimitable crossover here
It’s not quite the same, since it’s from the pov of MCU Peter.
The idea of young Inimitable Peter meeting someone who he could have so easily been if he’d not gotten involved with Team Red and had instead stuck closer to Stark would be an interesting thought, I must say. Not so interesting that I’d write it, but I’d def have half a drink and then a muse on the idea and how it would unfold.
For MJ, I have written some stuff from her POV! ( See just roll with it from the Dumpster Fires Verse)
I also wrote a terrifying piece a long ass time about about some non-NYC vigilantes trying to step in and overthrow the vigilante/Superpeople order of things by trying to goad Peter, Matt, Wade, etc into a fight. MJ narrates it and it’s sort of dark so I’m putting it under the cut here.
trigger warnings for violence (like Netflix DD and Punisher levels), violence against minors at school, and some pretty heavy injuries.
-------
“Michelle?” a voice she’d never heard in her life rasped into the classroom door. The smell of iron and smoke and god, blood—that was blood she was smelling—it was all suffocating.
“Michelle, honey, c’mon, sweetheart. We ain’t got time for being scared right now,” the voice said.
She’d never thought that she’d have to consider the fact that those were boots coming towards her, not sneakers, not shoes.
The butt of a rifle swung down into her view. Joined the boots right in front of her. Bones popped as the Punisher knelt down.
She knew him by the skull on his vest.
She knew him as a monster. Not a hero.
He held out a hand to her.
“I got you, baby girl,” he promised, “Ain’t no one gonna touch you.”
His hands were smeared in some kind of grease. Gun oil? Soot? It didn’t matter. He stayed crouching low. He didn’t wear a mask.
His nose was kind of crooked. And his eyes were deep set.
They were brown.
He said nothing, just held out his big, greasy hand.
She took it.
--
The Punisher’s grip was calloused and firm and he kept her behind him at all times. He was even bigger than she’d ever imagined; bigger than Mr. Murdock. Bigger than her dad. Maybe the around the same size and build as Wade.
He didn’t explain things; he used his hands to talk.
Stay behind me, said the press of his rough palm. Don’t let go, stay behind me.
Out front, the fingers said later, now curled over the tops of her own. Walk, walk fast. Out front.
Stay behind.
Out font.
Down.
He made her kneel with him and peeled off his vest. He didn’t give her a choice.
It was heavy. So heavy. He strapped it onto her as tight as it would go.
“Home stretch, darlin’,” he finally said with words, the noise of bullets and panic around them seemed quieter with him talking. She found that she didn’t want to leave him. “You go when I say, alright? You go when I say and you don’t look back, alright?”
No.
No, he would die if she left. He needed to wear the vest.
“Look at me, Michelle.” She did, through the tears. “You don’t look back.”
She nodded.
--
He said go.
She didn’t look back.
Not until Mr. Murdock was pulling her away, shouting at the top of his voice for an ambulance. She’d never heard that gravel in his tone before.
“Michelle, look at me,” Mr. Murdock told her, grabbing her cheeks and pulling her gaze away from the classroom where the Punisher was dying.
“Look at me, honey, look.”
There wasn’t much to look at, she couldn’t see his eyes through his mask.
“Are you hurt? Where are you hurt? Show me where you’re hurt.”
It didn’t matter, she couldn’t feel it anymore. The Punisher was dying in there, he needed his vest.
“Frank’s fine,” Mr. Murdock told her. He pulled her head back to face him, but he wasn’t looking at her at all. It was like he was looking down at the space between them. One of her hands felt warm on top, cold at the fingers. It didn’t want to cooperate as she pulled at the vest. “He’s fine, he’s gonna be fine. Fuck. Fuck. Put your arms around my neck, honey, c’mon. There you go, good girl. Alright, up you go. No, one more time. There you go, I got you. It’s okay, I got you.”
Mr. Murdock was stronger than he looked and he didn’t seem to mind that the vest was digging into his chest. His voice didn’t seem as loud, even though her head was right next to his throat.
She couldn’t tell if he was talking to her anymore.
--
She woke up.
There was white and blue and gray everywhere.
Her mom was burgundy. Her sweater was. Then she was tears, tears pouring out of her eyes, down over her lips. Her eyes weren’t burgundy, they were neon. Neon pink.
--
Her mom held her hand while the doctors explained to her that she’d have a lot of scarring, but she would be okay. She’d need some physical therapy to make the wrist do what it was supposed to again, but the bullet hadn’t caused irreparable damage.
The same for the wound in her ankle.
She’d be okay.
So why did she want to cry so bad?
--
She remembered why.
--
Peter was okay. He was in the room one over, attached to a lot of machines, but he was okay. His face wasn’t as clean as hers, the doctors and nurses hadn’t had the same kind of time to wash him down, they’d been busy trying to save his life.
His aunt had stepped out to go get things to wash his face for him. She was still wearing her scrubs. She worked in the ICU upstairs.
--
Ned was okay, he had a row of stitches from the bump in his wrist to his elbow. He told her tiredly that once he turned eighteen, he’d get a tattoo to cover the mark. Maybe laces, like sneaker, he told her.
Maybe stitches again, to remind himself what he’d almost lost.
--
Flash was okay. Abe was okay. Melanie and Gabriella were okay.
They were all okay.
Including the Punisher.
--
He came to see her in the hospital, he’d swiped a staff ID to do it. She thought that that was maybe overkill, but this was the man who’d offered his life for hers.
He was startled and went wide-eyed and stiff when she threw her arms around his broad chest and started crying. But he loosened up and told her that she shouldn’t be putting weight on her ankle. He let her hug him sitting on the bed instead.
He didn’t say things were okay like the others did. He grabbed her chin and shook it a little and said, “You’re fucking brave, girl. You’re so fucking brave.”
She didn’t believe him.
She’d just gone and hadn’t looked back.
“Sweetheart, there are times when you think, and times when you move. And both of them are different kinds of bravery,” he told her.
Different kinds of bravery.
“Do you mean courage?” she asked him.
He cocked his head. He had stitches of his own at the top of his cheekbone. Bruises from his temple to his chin.
“No, courage, that’s something else,” he said, “I’m talking about bravery.”
She didn’t understand. He said that he didn’t have a better way of explaining it. He smoothed her hair back and said that he was glad that she was alive and that she was going to get better.
He’d been the one who’d carried Peter out. He’d had to send her out first because he couldn’t carry both of them.
Mr. Murdock’s voice was raw and hoarse because he’d come running from the fire in the classroom next door and he’d been trying to find Peter. He was the only one who could hear Frank Castle through the fire and the bullets and the creak of the burning building. And Mr. Castle had told him that he couldn’t take both Peter and Michelle.
She remembered now.
Mr. Castle had been talking to himself the whole time they’d been running and hiding through that building. He’d been talking to himself, but he’d really been talking to Mr. Murdock who was trying to find a way in and a way out that wouldn’t get him killed.
There hadn’t been one, there were too many guns. The second she’d started running, Frank Castle had whistled, hard and loud and piercing and all the guns had turned on him.
She didn’t look back.
She thought that he hadn’t either.
“Thank you for saving us,” she told him.
He shook his head.
“Red’s your man, he called me screaming. Man never calls nobody in that tone of voice. You’d have thought y’all were his babies dying in there.”
Okay.
Okay, so was Mr. Murdock okay?
“Nah, girl. I don’t think he is. But I think he’ll get there.”
--
Mr. Murdock pretended like he was okay, but the way he wrapped his arms around both Michelle and Peter when they came to his office said that he was very much not. It wasn’t an awkward hug, even though there were two of them.
It was firm.
It was tight.
And Peter started crying and it was hard, really really hard not to join him.
Mr. Murdock let them go and pressed his forehead to Peter’s and said nothing. He just held Peter’s shoulder with one hand and smoothed a hand through his hair with the other. Peter wasn’t making words so much as he was making distressed sounds, but Matt understood him.
“He’s alright, Pete,” he said. “He’s alright.”
Who?
--
Wade was fine, somehow. There wasn’t a bullet hole in him. There wasn’t a scratch on him, he claimed, trying to smile and make Peter stop sobbing his heart out.
Matt told him that he wasn’t fucking helping and to just be fucking honest for once in his goddamn life.
Matt’s hands shook a little at his sides. His cuticles were still stained gray from the soot.
Wade looked from him to Peter a little helplessly and then at Michelle and he sobered. He held out an arm for her to come closer.
He was big, too. His ribs felt different from Mr. Castle’s.
“Where’s Ned?” he asked, pressing a hand on the back of Peter’s head to encourage him to direct his upset into his chest.
Ned was at home. Ned’s mom and dad were too upset to let him out of their sight for now.
“Yeah, I can see that,” Wade said. He didn’t hug her as tight as Matt had, he more laid a heavy arm across her shoulders and pulled a bit.
--
They weren’t allowed to go back to school. The whole campus was closed, there’d been significant damage to the south side and there were too many photos and crime scenes that needed to be documented.
Peter’s wounds were already mostly healed, while hers ached and burned with every movement.
He apologized for not getting to the room she’d been in faster.
That was some dumbass shit, that was.
“Who did it?” she asked him.
Peter set his jaw.
“We don’t know. Wade and Mr. Castle said they’re finding out. They aren’t letting me or Matt in on it.”
What did that mean?
“I think it means that it’s something bigger than us.”
And what did that mean?
“Uh, maybe bigger isn’t the right word. Lower.”
Lower. Like?
“Someone underground. Deeper in than me and Double D. We’re—we’re mostly surface level. Wade and Mr. Castle, they’re deep under there.”
“Were they trying to kill you, Peter?” she asked him.
He took a long shaky breath.
“I really hope not.”
---
They weren’t trying to kill Peter, Mr. Murdock eventually told them, having had them come to his home for this news. He had them sit on his faux leather couch as he said this.
He was trying to say something without words, Michelle thought.
She thought she was reading it right.
It was personal. This was personal.
“Were they trying to kill you, Matt?” she asked. He shook his head.
No.
They weren’t trying to kill anyone, they’d been trying to draw them out. As many of them as possible.
“They’re taking stock of us,” Matt said to his fists. His knuckles never seemed to heal. “Making lists. They knew a school would bring everyone out and we fell for it like fucking chumps.”
What did that mean?
“Means there’s something big brewing, and I want nothing to do with it.”
That’s not what his knuckles said.
“Peter,” Matt said, “Whoever they are, they’re going to target you. You’re young, that makes you an easy mark. Do not engage, do you understand?”
Peter understood.
---
Peter was hurt. He was hurt every day over the next few weeks. He had bullet wounds and knife wounds and it got to the point where, even after school reopened, he didn’t come back. It wasn’t suspicious, a lot of kids didn’t. Their parents were still terrified, maybe looking into other academies.
Peter was just sleeping. He had to sleep to heal and he had to heal because the second he set foot out the door there was someone there waiting for him and he couldn’t engage. He just had to take it. Suit or no suit.
MJ would have hit back by now, she was amazed that he hadn’t.
“The second I hit back, they’ll take that as permission,” Peter told her quietly at his desk in his room. May had bandaged his arm for him. She wasn’t concerned about school, she didn’t want Peter to even leave the house.
“Permission to do what?” she asked.
“To engage,” Peter said.
What did that mean, though?
“They’ll kill me.”
He couldn’t know that. He couldn’t—
“They don’t care who I am. It’ll be a message. As soon as I hit back, that makes whatever happens next fair game, so I can’t do anything.”
“Can’t Stark help you?” she asked. He sighed and looked at his bandaged wrist.
“If it gets any worse, he and May said I’ll stay with him for a while. But they’ll just move onto the next guy, and then the next guy, until someone engages. We can’t avoid them forever.”
‘We,’ Peter said. That meant that this was beyond him. This was everyone on that list those guys had shot her, stabbed Ned, scared everyone to make. The list that had set their school on fire.
---
It got worse.
Peter didn’t come to school.
He couldn’t breathe very well. He slept even more, but not at home. He slept at Stark Tower, where Tony Stark could guard him, because no one else could at the minute.
---
It got worse because they started picking on Matt.
Matt as Mr. Murdock most certainly would not have engaged, but Matt as Matt was struggling. He was very obviously struggling.
Just sit back and take it, was what he had to do. Unlike Peter, who slept and had somewhere to go when things got too bad, Matt didn’t heal and Matt didn’t have anyone to lean on.
He stopped showing up to work.
Neither Foggy or Karen said anything about it. They carried on with the cases and the work and the filing as if nothing was wrong, as if nothing happened. As if they weren’t both suffocating, trying to carry their friend’s pain with their own.
Michelle went to see him and Foggy told her to be as quiet as she could be.
He slept with a broken arm laid up on his chest. He shivered in his sleep. His knuckles weren’t bruised, but his neck was and he didn’t acknowledge anyone who spoke to him.
There was a woman there with him, she was his sister, MJ remembered her. Elektra was watching him with silent, stoic fury in her eyes. It showed nowhere else on her.
“She’s protecting him,” Foggy explained as he made them all tea. “Well, maybe not protecting, but guarding him so he feels like he can sleep.”
There wasn’t anything to say to that, not when Spiderman and Daredevil could only rest in unconsciousness.
“Why are they doing this?” she asked him. Foggy sighed and set the kettle down.
“Because they’re cruel and they’re jealous and they think that this will get them respect,” he said.
Respect.
Psh.
All it did was make her mad.
“If you show them that you’re angry, Michelle, that’s as good as engaging. We can’t let them know that they’re getting to any of us.”
This was bullshit.
---
Bullshit because Matt went to get groceries and didn’t come home and Wade had to go find him. They wouldn’t let Michelle see him, but she heard his sister screaming. She screamed at anyone who touched him, swore that she’d put the lights out of the next person who tried.
Foggy didn’t stop her.
Matt didn’t say anything.
He didn’t come to work and Foggy kept his office door closed.
Karen told Michelle that Elektra had taken Matt somewhere with her, where he would be safe. He wasn’t in Hell’s Kitchen. Elektra wouldn’t say where they’d gone, but she’d sent Foggy pictures so that he knew Matt was safe.
---
It was bullshit because they were too scared to fuck with Wade or Castle, so instead they attacked Hawkeye the younger and Michelle heard through Wade that Hawkguy had nearly exploded in his anger. He couldn’t do anything, of course he couldn’t, that was how this game worked.
But he’d swapped his easy-going persona for the one he used when he worked with the Black Widow.
Wade said it was eerie to see him so quiet and focused. Locked onto his target.
The people trying to pick a fight, well, they were scared of Hawkeye.
---
Not for long. They went in on both of Hawkeyes at the same time and soon Hawkeye the elder reached breaking point and called in the Widow so that he and his partner could get two minutes of peace. Just two.
---
It was interesting how the second the Widow got involved, everything went topsy turvy.
Michelle had passed by the place where Wade had told her the Widow was standing guard and saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Then she realized that whoever these guys were, they were really, really scared of the Widow.
Not so high and mighty now, huh, boys?
They abandoned the Hawkeyes and went after Jessica Jones.
---
It went on and on like this for two, three, maybe even four weeks. People took as much as they could. They picked themselves up. Some limped into the offices of Nelson, Murdock and Page. Some limped, watched carefully by people, in the street.
They were stopped at all hours by guys in plain clothes who struck out without warning. Threw fists. Feet. Spat on people. And instead of fighting back, local bodies threw them off and ran away. Avoided confrontation. Put walls and doors and fences between themselves and the others as much as they could.
It was, in a way, amazing.
The level of restraint was super human.
---
Then the new kids got cocky and shoved the Winter Soldier.
They were in for a lesson.
Michelle saw the conflict on the news. Five guys throwing themselves at Bucky Barnes, who was trying to buy a bottle of whiskey in peace.
He ignored them, counted out exact change.
He walked right through their group on the way out the door and they parted around him, then followed him out of the convenience store.
Camera phone footage showed him walking home, being heckled by these creeps. A few blocks, presumably, from his home he stopped walking and the gang of people drew in close around him.
And then they all leapt back.
The Winter Soldier wasn’t taking their shit, he’d apparently decided. Loud enough to be heard from the cameraman’s place across the street, he shouted, “Y’all have one more chance to get the fuck out of my way.”
Let no one say he didn’t warn them.
They went down hard and they went down fast and they all went down within a minute of each other.
Bucky Barnes held a guy by his throat and told them to call their motherfucking leader, he wanted to have a chat.
It was the beginning of the end.
---
Do not engage went right out the window and MJ woke up to her phone sending her six thousand alerts not to take such-and-such road or to approach such-and-such area.
The news showed her Peter slamming his fist into a man’s face like he was born to do it.
The Man in the Mask was out in broad daylight, stalking towards those people who were suddenly trying to escape him. He picked them up and dropped them without so much as breaking the rhythm of his pace.
Ironman beat the shit out of twelve people in the company courtyard.
Hawkeye had switched his bow for a rifle.
The general advice from all city personnel was to stay the fuck inside.
This was war.
---
And then it was over.
And everything was cleaned up and bodies were carted off if they were found.
Peter arrived to school.
Matt reappeared in his office.
They carried on like nothing had happened. But there was something about the aftermath of silence that made the day of brutality so much more violent.
Neither of them were smiling. They were cold, thawing slowly.
Michelle thought of all the things they weren’t saying.
She thought she heard their combined bodies whisper, this is my city. This is our city. Get with it or go the fuck home.
She didn’t know if it made her feel better, but it certainly made her feel safe.
