So while I'm literally punching air over my menstrual pain I thought up a Vought reader scenario with a little real life inspo and would love to see other expand on this idea if they also find it interesting or funny. So, reader ofc works for Vought, they don't really ever work with supes in person as their still climbing the corporate ladder but they do their job well. The only time they've ever spoke to anybody even remotely close to the seven was when Ashley had come to them to ask for an update on homelanders points, as they work on the social media team at Vought, their job in the team was to basically scrub the internet for the publics opinion on vought. They've seen some SHIT from it, including the more... Vulgar displays of the publics opinion from homelander, but they have have to persevere to get that sweet paycheck every Thursday. Growing up in a area where people are normally on the more 'family friendly' with the way they speak had left them severely underprepared for the confidence that the anonymity of the Internet gave people, which allowed them to say basically anything, and they certainly did. Sometimes leading them to go to the bathroom to try and stave of the nausea. They themselves are more of a loner, staying to themselves often time felling awkward and scared of talking their everyday coworker. Sleep deprivation and overworking themselves to try and run from the imposter syndrome constantly eating at them. Your average corporate wage slave one might say. But one day, waking up with a rare dose of confidence that lasted through out the day, they decided they were going to go to a small office party they were going to be having later on that night. They decided to wear a very ~complimenting~ outfit/dress when they go. Homelander is there, he doesn't have anything better to do and he's bored so he sits in on the party, watching. No one comes to him, everybody knows how he can be to those he deems lesser than him. They don't really think about this as they look at him sitting alone in the corner with a far off look in his eyes, their sympathy genuinely clouding their better judgement. They walk up to him unannounced, nearly startling him as they said "hi." in a quiet tone with a small smile. He looks over, suddenly hearing them next to him, further away than he had thought, it sounded like you had spoken directly into his ear. "Hello?" They were fighting their nerves suddenly feeling cold all over. "I'm glad that I can help Mister.homelander, sir" they imagine slamming their face against every surface possible as they they choke, suddenly feeling like a golf ball was in their throat, sweat collecting in their hair. Before they can manage to squeeze anything out another man walk up to them, tapping them on the shoulder. They turn to him and he asks them out. They immediately feel the ball in their throat get even bigger, thinking of a way to get out, to just go before they suddenly burst into tears. "N-No..." They say before just turning and walking out as fast as they could straight to the elevators and back home. homelander was very confused at what had just happened, how quick their emotions had just rose and fallen in quick succession suddenly feeling his curiosity peaked. The next day he comes to visit the office area, asking for you describing your appearance.

"Oh you mean y/n? Their fucking tweaking in the bathroom right now" answer one of them

I think the only awkward situation would be Margaret. She does the absolute most all the time (including with Joe back when they were friends) and while the friendship may be over for obvious reasons, I would hope they could be cordial as colleagues. I didn’t see any interaction with them at all which is fine. I would steer clear of her if I was Joe. I would not want her getting a single detail of what is going - who he is dating, what he is up to, what projects he may do - knowing it’s all going back to someone.

I loved the video from yesterday of Joe and Emma and Hunter laughing and talking while leaving the premiere and her “Joe! We’re still on camera!” And there is the video too of them talking with Emma being very animated with her vape! It’s great to see but considering how much he supported her on social media through Poor Things, I always figured they were still good friends.

Margaret is definitely the big white elephant in the room. Apparently everybody clapped for Joe after his speech only except Margaret. Guess what, that woman doesn’t know how to maintain a professional act. She even unfollowed Joe on insta so i literally have no respect left for her. I think she's very annoying too. my name is kim sam-soon/ my lovely sam soon: fake dating/ bickering. and the background was a restaurant i think. i had so much fun binging it. sam-soon really was the best.

boys over flowers: a classic adapted from a classic shoujo manga where you'll find every crazy thing that can only happen in a drama. it's absurd at times very many times but it's addictive af. also great soundtrack

playful kiss: i became a jung so-min stan after this. tho i like the taiwanese version best now it was fun binging it when i didn't know of the tw version.

personal taste: lee min ho pretended to be gay because he wanted to get inside a house for architectural reasons. i did like it. maybe check it out because the pain gong yoo felt, son ye-jin also goes through something similar although it was different.

my girlfriend is a gumiho: fantasy romance about a 900yo nine tailed fox and a wannabe action star. it was fun and cute and i cried at times too. shin min-a is the most beautiful human to walk this earth. great songs esp lee sun-hee's fox rain (acoustic)

sungkyunkwan scandal*: female lead pretends to be a boy because she wanted to study in a university when women weren't allowed to study. university ofc full of boys

rooftop prince*: time slip romance. was extremely popular

my love from another star: a top star gets accused of murdering her rival. lives across from a professor who's a 400yo alien who ends up becoming her manager. first romance drama i remember watching where there was a serial killer. both the second leads were annoying af

i can hear your voice: lee jong-suk can read minds if he looks into your eyes. public attorneys and prosecutors and a killer. loved it

pinocchio: news channels and reporters and fake news. one of my favourite kdramas ever. there's very few that keep you hooked from the beginning till the end. not one bad episode. i made so many people get into this one and everybody loved it too. great ost. you won't see vlc media player the same after this. made by the same people who made ichyv so you might enjoy it more because of some references but it's alright otherwise too.

healer: do you believe in the poooower of ever lasting loooooove.... another one in my forever faves that i got other people into. the chemistry of jcw and pmy was through the roof. people died because of them. some of the best kissing scenes ever too. no love triangle. reporters and tabloids and a messenger and world's greatest ahjumma. first couple of episodes weren't that good but i promise it gets so much better after my beloved Park Bong-soo shows up. usually i am not for english songs in kdramas but eternal love by MLTR has a special place in my heart.

fated to love you: jang hyuk and jang na-ra are just too good together. i watched because of ailee's goodbye my love and then regretted not starting it when it was airing. all of the soundtrack is great. lee gun's laugh >>>

her private life: since you loved coffee prince i am sure you liked kim jae-wook and this was his first kdrama lead role after everyone waiting for god knows how many years. couldn't watch it when it was airing because i was in my kdrama slump but when i got out i regretted not watching then. pmy and kjw together are just soooooo

one more happy ending: i just love jang na-ra. romcom with good songs about 4 women trying to find love again. jung kyung-ho and jang na-ra need to work together again idec about the genre.

come back ahjussi: two dead guys come back to life hotter. one in a man's body and other in a woman's. had fun watching it. ratings were low because one of the most overrated kdrama was airing at the same timeslot.

jealousy incarnate/ don't dare to dream: weather girl finds out the anchor she'd have a crush on forever had breast cancer. it's a romcom. had a love triangle and gave people major second-lead syndrome not me tho. back when gong hyo-jin used to be the romcom queen. great soundtrack

extra-ordinary you: and it was extraordinary. fantasy romance about an extra who is just trying to keep herself alive. eun dan-o was the life of the drama. high school romance. green flaggest male lead (i don't usually say that for anyone but he sure was). good songs and very rare for me to say that for a soundtrack of a drama only as recent as 2019.

crazy love: kjw is just too good in romcoms. this drama was crazy as the name suggests and hella fun. lee sin-a you'll always be famous.

lovely runner: ended just this tuesday and idk if you watched it but definitely worth watching. up there with pinocchio being good from the beginning till the end and no bad episode im sight. great songs great cast great characters. first loves time slips rain sunshine k-pop idols it had everything. ten years from now it'll surely be in the classics list

Spontaneous Insta-Detox . Will be more online on here again , always enjoying my calm and friendly Tumblr-family :) Insta can easily turn into a bubble while tumblr is not. I feel like this shift is very good for me rn and I have always a boost of inspiration (and communication!) when taking my time off from Insta. Mabe because I am connected to many people that I personally know and that even live in the same city/country as me. It feels good to not always be online, available, scrolling sharing. To take conscious breaks and to return even more to myself and to my digital scrapbook/diary here with no rush, no comparison and nor shame nor guilt. Don't get me wrong but hustling in silence has become a way of living for me. Not that I dont talk to anybody bout it- but I dont talk to everybody about it all the time. It's a tiny yet significant difference ! It also feels like really growing up. The best way to share is to listen to myself, to write it down or to get creative in any other way. And ofc I share things when I feel like doing so (esp sharing pictures of nature, selfwritten texts or art that deeply inspires me). I think there is a healthy way of using Social Media when we consciously step away, take breaks (not limiting ourselves!) and distance ourself from over-stimulation. As a highly sensitive person I catch myself triggered, nervous or anxious when I consume too much social media (in particular IG) as there is oftentimes so much content mixed up and chaotic, making me at times definitely more anxious and nervous than happy (ofc not all the time). But whenever I feel that I've reached such a point again, it is my mind and body telling my to consciously step back and to silently focus on myself, my wellbeing and intentionally turning the volume of the noise of my head down. Whenever I feel like it- I'll return- no limits, not judging myself. It's like deep breathing for the mind; slowing down the volume of our thoughts and letting peace naturally enter my being. Besides, I have so much work to do that it seems best for me to do so right now, as I owe myself this regeneration.

Idk if this is just a “not trusting the validity of your own opinions thing,” but does anybody else like. have a Day Ruined moment when you see serious critique (by someone participating in the media) of something you’re really into? Even/especially if you disagree with it.

Like I happened upon this post tearing apart major plot points of a series I’m really into right now, and I just kept re-reading it and its reblogs because I had to make sure that I fully understood OP and that I wasn’t wrong, somehow. It’s like if someone else doesn’t enjoy media in the same way, it’s wrongbad for me to do so, or it’s a negative that I don’t perceive the same serious flaws.

I literally spent the next hour reading through the “[fandom] critical” tag (not interacting ofc), even though it made me miserable like I knew it would.

There’s no real point to this, I just wanted to know if anybody else felt the same way. I put the stuff I like on a high pedestal, especially when it comes to fictional works’ narrative composition. It took me like 2 hours of fixation on the one post to remember I didn’t have to agree with it (or the other posts I read), and I found that I honestly didn’t, but it still feels weird.

I don't care much about how someone I'm interested in looks. I've got all sorts of types and there's not much consistency. I believe in ghosts and aliens, and used to be big into ghost hunting media. I've I've two separate PeeWee Herman dolls. One of them talks. I'm kinda like a human shitpost at times. I'll do almost anything for a bit. I'm kinda rambling but I feel like I'm telling you a lot about me with these rambles. I can be pretty stubborn - especially about going to the Dr. I accidentally swallowed some Drain-O once and just... went about my day. (I'm aware I'm a dumbass and follow a strict do as I say not as I do guideline for everybody.) I give really good advice despite all of that. I also have surprisingly good manners. I hold the door open for everyone, say thank you about a million times during a transaction, etc. I do the thing where you don't realize something is traumatic until you tell the story and other people are like omg are you okay? He thinks you are hilarious, but sometimes can't tell when you are being serious or not. He likes to cook for you, and always has you try his more experimental ideas because he knows you will always be honest and will have good suggestions. He does try to get you to stay with interests and hobbies to master them, but will never force you.

i know why ppl are against parasocial relationships in the newly adjusted sense of the term... it IS unhealthy to expect anything in return just because you enjoy the media someone makes. at the same time, i don't think it's possible to avoid sometimes falling into that sort of pit... caring more about someone you don't know than they ever will for you, simply because they made something you enjoy. that's where i think ppl misuse the term. i don't think it is a bad thing to be empathetic towards another human being and to care for them as if you know them (ofc that doesn't mean you can just assume things are true about a person bc you "feel like they are") and it is not a bad thing to think someone you don't know is pretty and sweet and important. in fact, treating the people you care about with nuance and being true to your feelings will always matter more than who both of you are in the context of your everyday lives. if you care about someone, show it. even if you don't truly know them, it's alright to care for them. it's actually healthy to care about people regardless of whether you know them or not lol (plus, you have to remember it's hard to ever really feel like you truly know or get ANYONE, even your family and friends). it is already so impossible to be a fully functional person, we don't have to cut out a normal and healthy part of our lives just because we don't wanna seem like creeps for finding a youtuber hot or whatever other shit you enjoy. everybody has a different line for those sorts of things, just don't be an actual weirdo.
