listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

I feel like we dont talk about one of the main reasons nico was ostracized at camp, not just because hes a son of hades.

Camp half blood is small enough so that rumors and information spread fast, but that doesn't mean they are always right. So imagine you're a random camper, and you're told nico, one of the new campers, gets in a big fight with Percy. During which he makes skeletons appear and somehow opens a huge crack in the floor. But percy wins and nico leaves camp.

I know it looks quite weird right now, especially with the human body lol. I decided to separate the head from the body and make it a hair mesh, since clothing outfits don't show up when you use the pie menu, I figured it'd be more convenient to have this separated and see the yeti head instead of whatever the Sim's face behind is (kinda like the uni cow mascots). And yeah that eyebrows situation... wow. I will tone it down a bit because right now they're flying so high with the Sim's expressions, it's wild.

You have no idea how happy I am right now. Learning more stuff and slowly but surely getting more and more away from Milkshape's evil hands.

started with that more realistic portrait in the corner but then I tried doing this new exercise where I just drew him as fast as I could without really thinking, trying to just be really quick and confident with my strokes, and I actually really love how those couple doodles turned out!! they have this really fun stylized quality that I enjoy a lot, like as someone who tends towards a more realistic style?? I feel like I don’t really allow myself to experiment with more cartoony/dynamic styles but this was a really effective way of forcing myself to make it happen naturally. anyways, I highly recommend trying it if you’re like me and maybe have a hard time stylizing faces, or if you just wanna do a fun exercise! just don’t overthink it and see what shapes you naturally chose to exaggerate :)

sorry for rambling sghshsh I just had a lot of fun with these doodles and izzy has always been so fun to stylize for me :) he just naturally has this sort of silly cartoonish quality to him, it’s so easy to exaggerate all his shapes <3
