Also technically "The Unreal Life of Sergei Nabokov" but I haven’t read it in 6 months... Read 88 pages of The Vanishing Half (in Finnish) 2-3 months ago. Well worth the read but got too repetive and slow for me. Probably gonna give up and DNF it tho, tbh.

Next reads:

Not sure which one my ADHD ass will actually end up reading next 😅 Also want and need to read Yusupov's Lost Splendor and Nijinsky's "diary", really should have ages ago, but I guess guilt is making me more interested in these other books lol.

(It's all related to my Felix Yusupov fic, though The Origin of Others less obviously so. The rest basically screams "I'm interested in early 1900s queers and Jews, tsarist Russia and Ballet Russes" 😅)

MC's dad is overprotective of them. Yet he arranges a marriage for them which their partner is a bully. I kinda wanna know his thought process with that decision. 😅

MC's dad is over-protective of his assets. His love is quite twisted. He loves his children like someone may love their pet. He wants ultimate loyalty. And he wants people who can execute his desires without him having to lift a finger. I would say he is emotionally abusive (and physically, through corporal punishment.)

Let's say MC comes to their father telling him of O. His reaction would be anger because 1) MC just snitched (big no-no) and 2) instead of crying to him, MC should be fighting back.

He thinks of it as a life lesson. O's father is good for business and if O is an asshole, well, that's MC's problem to deal with. If MC can't shut down one single bully, how can they run the family business?

Odessa, in a moment of pure panic, grasped his wrist in one red-taloned hand. Her voice bridged desperation, "Don't compromise, Loyal. You can't. Not on the rest of your life."

He met her eye- Blue eyes. That which she had known to be bright with laughter and kindness, now dulled with resignation-, wincing. He bit his lip for a brief moment, "Dess... Odessa, I have to do what's best for Dinah. It's- It's not fair on her, you know?"

With such bitterness, she replied, "Really? Is that the venom Caoimhe is feeding you?"

"She's Dinah's mother." Loyal argued weakly. He could not muster the strength to pull his wrist from her grip. He sounded strained, "I can't abandon her. She's my daughter."

"Mine did!" Odessa exclaimed hastily. Tears clouded her vision but even she could not miss how Loyal's expression faltered. She dropped his wrist and gaze in the same moment, bringing the heels of her hands to wage war against the tears.

She gasped, "I think I turned out fine. That's all I'm saying."

"Better than fine." He said softly.

In return, Odessa scoffed. Her arms snaked around his back, tugging him into an embrace, "That might've been the lack of a mom, though."

"No, dear. They don't get to take credit for you, Dess." She felt his grin against her neck, "And I will never get to credit myself for whoever Dinah becomes."

"You will if... If you're there."

"I will be." He tore himself from her, "But I won't be able to marry her mother. Maybe that'll fuck her up anyway, huh?"

"No worse than being left under save haven rules." Odessa jested. Helplessly, she grinned, unable to conceal such overwhelming joy. He was to be her own for a little while longer. It was selfish and she could hardly stand to deny it, but after the life handed to her, Odessa felt she was owed an instance of selfishness.

alessia and eddie were out shopping for new leashes, collars, and TOYS. ever since the younger couple moved in, it was obvious they needed more around the house. ozzie knew what it was like to get caught up in life and work. eddie and odessa were essentially GROWING their new beginning here. that meant eddie had been busy, though he hopes alessia can help expedite the process—moving and buying new furniture could be time consuming. 

there was this paternal need to make sure odessa felt SAFE in this time. after getting to know the younger couple, he knew how much she NEEDED eddie. and he knew how much of eddie's time was being stretched from designing the new rooms and making sure everything was okay for the two new housemates. so he surprises odessa with new lingerie, cute cat ears, and a beautiful COLLAR that has eddie's name illuminated in diamonds and gold. he sets it on her bed for her to find and leaves a note directing her to find DADDY in the lounge.

they were all learning to push into this new stage in their lives and relationship. ozzie wanted to make sure it was a smooth transition. so he waits for her in the lounge. the fireplace crackles with a soft flame and gentle jazz plays on the speakers while he rubs his SHAFT through the cotton shorts. when he hears the door he hums from the couch. "come over here, baby. let daddy talk to you for a moment."

I just thought I'd let you know my brain suddenly started furiously thinking about gabe and odessa and how The Conversation is going to go and I'm frothing at the mouth. I haven't been rereading or anything this just happened out of the blue but I want to let you know your writing got me spontaneously doing this and it's pretty fucking amazing, thank you for everything you do and all the work you put into making such great stories!
