Personality

Sparrowstar is considered a progressive leader; at least on Fireclan standards. He is hardworking, having to prove himself from an early age that he is a true clan cat regardless of his kittypet blood. He pushed a new era in Fireclan, where they do not stonewall outside cats to the extreme in the past, and allowing toms to be queens and encouraging them to be involved in their kits lives.

He tries to be a fair leader to his clan mates and kits, but he can also be stubborn and is very particular about punctuality and following the rules and code, sometimes not thinking about how there are underlying circumstances to some actions. He also upholds the Fireclan trait of hardwork, favoring the hardest working but over talented cats, but his emphasis on work ethic often makes his clanmakes feel pressured to overwork. 

History

Sparrowstar was born to a little of six kits to a kittypet mother named Misty, and he inherited her curled ears. His father was a clan cat named Kitetalon.

Before he was weaned and before he can remember, Kitetalon convinced Misty to allow him to take one of the kits to be raised in Fireclan. From their, he was fostered by a Fireclan queen Clawshade. Kitetalon took great care into raising him as well, which was considered radical at the time, as Fireclan was old-fashioned compared to the other clans with toms almost never raising their kits.

When the former deputy Sweetfern was about to retire, Sparrowtalon was still a young warrior with his first apprentice, but was chosen to replace her anyways over all the senior warriors including his father because of his work ethic, which was so high so he could prove himself to be a true asset to the clan.

He became mates with his apprenticehood friend, Duskwhisker, and they had their first litter shortly before he became leader, a single kit named Nightkit who his mate absolutely doted on.

Some time later when he was leader, his mate had a second litter of Swiftkit, Bluekit and Shadekit. Nightkit was already a grown warrior named Nightfern, was in the nursery shortly after the second litter was born, pregnant with Yarrowstone's kits.

Nightfern ended up coming down with an illness, kitted prematurely to a single stillborn she-kit named posthumously Mallowkit/Mallowfoot, and ended up dying of complications a few days later, devesting Sparrowstars family, particulaly his mate Duskwhisker who was very close to Nightfern.

Duskwhisker in her grief grew distant from their other kits who were close to apprentice age at this point, especially with Swiftkit who favoured Sparrowstar.

Although he wanted to mentor his remaining daughter, he knew he wouldn't be able to get past his favoritism, and assigned her to Duskwhisker instead, which itself was also questionable but he wanted them to rekindle their relationship. This ended up backfiring, Duskwhisker wanted to prove she would not favor any of her kits as an apprentice, and pushed Swiftpaw hard and punished her more for mistakes than she would punish an unrelated apprentice. This lead to Swiftpaw to become a warrior a little later than intended, and to become anxious when it comes to doing the right thing at all times. Their relationship became much worse, and as a warrior now Swifttalon barely talks to her mother. Sparrowstar to this day regrets that choice.

Sparrowstar and Duskwhiskers relationship has also taken a few blows and they have been drifting apart as well since Nightfern died, they've recently had another litter of all toms; Batkit, Lichenkit, and Jaykit. He still loves and takes care of his kits best he can, but with his complicated relationship with his grown kits, and his responsibility as a leader coupled with his strained relationship with his mate, he worries if his family will ever fully recover.

Trivia

Like his mother Misty, Sparrowstar is an American curl

Most of his clan was surprised when he picked his son, Blueblaze as his deputy after the former deputy Morningmouse died, because Blueblaze was aloof and irresponsible, and most cats thought his would pick Swifttalon who was much more responsible and code-fearing. 

Although he's a progressive leader on Fireclan standards, he still has some of Fireclans more 'traditional' beliefs such as in regards to some gender norms; although he allower his late daughters mate to become a queen, he'll still make snide remarks about him, and he did not pick his more responisble daughter as deputy over his eldest son.

HELLO I've spent like 2 days thinking about this one OC to add into the universe of a kind of old fanclan of mine (tbh its probably only a few months old but these years have felt like forever so)

tw emotional abuse for the whole thing but it gets better

So the setting is in QuietClan, a well-established clan that has been existing for ages. they have like the vibes of a conservative neighborhood (semi xenophobic, misogynist, etc) but it's been getting better recently. the OC in question is born to a particularly traditionalist Molly (whose name I've yet to discover. they're white with brown tabby splotches. also her mate has passed away recently). Their name(the... protagonist of this ask if you will) is Sparrowkit and immediately their mom is like "oh. a boring pelt color. ah well you might be good at hunting" (they're mostly a brown tabby with white paws)

Anyways Sparrow is nb(they/it) and bio female(only reason im stating this is cause it's relevant to their upbringing) but they don't know it yet.

It grows up around two other litters. One being comprised of a tom named Berrykit(white with ginger spots), and the other one having three kits who are currently unnamed.

Sparrow's mother expects it to be a good warrior to make up for their lack of interesting traits. She also kind of does the thing where parents "ship" their children and kind of nudges Sparrowkit to be closer to Berrykit.

Sparrow is apprenticed to a senior warrior who is way more light-hearted than its mother. They feel guilty for enjoying their time outside of the camp where their mother isn't watching so they start spending more free time with her.

It grows close with a Molly of the litter of three from their time.

Near the end of Sparrowpaw's apprenticeship, they realize that they probably won't be able to pass their exam on the first try. This prediction comes true and Sparrow's mother yells at it for a while in front of the whole clan. The Molly that sparrow had made friends with decides to stay behind to become a warrior with sparrow

Sparrowpaw passes their apprenticeship the next assessment and becomes Sparrowheart.

Berry(insert suffix) basically immediately becomes their mate because hey, that's what their parents did right? get married right after college?(or the warrior's equivalent)

Sparrow's mother pressures them into having kits

It happens eventually but by the time that Sparrowheart gives birth, its the middle of a very hard leaf bare. Sparrow's mother dies and so does all but two of sparrow and berry's kits.

They see an omen at some point of a small sparrow stuck in a briar bush. Sparrow goes to help the bird and it flies away into the sun(not literally).(also sparrow's mother's prefix is probably gonna be briar so you might understand the omen ;) )

Sometime around the new leaf/greenleaf after, Sparrowheart talks with someone about mates and it goes something like this.

Other cat: "oh my god I love my Mate sm <3 they can like practically read my mind I love spending time with them etc etc"

Sparrow: "... you enjoy spending time with your mate ?"

Cat: "...you don't??"

Sparrow: "I mean yeah I guess hanging out with berry[suffix] is fine but I don't actively seek it out. the only cats I really like talking to is [previous mentor], [another warrior that they made friends with during their time in the nursery], and [Molly they were friends with since they were kits]"

cat: "oh huh I always thought you were in love with [best friend] I remember being so confused when you told me you were mates with Berry[suffix]"

Sparrow: "I can be in love with MOLLIES?!"

anyways sparrow and berry break up but leave off on good terms

their kits grow up and sparrow attempts to be a better parent than its mother was

It confesses to its best friend who becomes its mate :)

Their other friend becomes leader and appoints them as deputy

sometime during their cat 60s, they become Sparrowstar

and a new clan named WildClan, the leader being Pumpkin (another oc of mine), enters town

also at some point there's drama about sparrow's mother being let into StarClan so they create a new religion but im too tired to flesh it out rn

I do think this is a cool idea

it's always hard to make those types of stories be fair and not like.. icky, cause most people give the terrible side too much power and make it feel unfair

but I do like how Sparrowstar comes into themself and accepts itself for who they are

and plus it isn't forced to stay in a situation where they aren't happy

This was a larger concept sheet for my oc/s Waspcloud and Waspflight

Waspcloud was a dark forest cat whose life was kind of manipulated by their father, so later after they have died in the dark forest they are given a second chance at life and was reincarnated as Waspflight. Waspflight has slightly similar aspects of their life, including a sibling with the same prefix name (Hailstrike vs Hailshadow, for the angst)

The characters are;

Eveningfang + Mudleg - Waspflight’s parents (top left)

Hailshadow + Petalcloud + Rabbitear + Brooknose - Waspflight’s siblings (top right 4 grouping)

Hailstrike - black and white, Waspcloud’s brother (middle left)

Sparrowstar + Lizardthorn - Waspcloud’s parents, scarred black cat and tan tabby respectively. Lizardthorn was also a dark forest cat and essentially groomed Waspcloud for being one as well while Hailstrike was more protected by their mother

Dapplespirit + young Waspcloud - Dapplespirit was Waspcloud’s well-meaning mentor. She was the good that tried to steer Waspcloud away from the path their father was sending them on

This drawing was made a long time ago and I really didn’t put tht much effort into it. I just wanted to draw all the cats so I knew what they all looked like. If you had to give each clan a completely new leader and deputy, and you could pick ANYONE, who would you pick?

oh wow okay uuhh just for the main three clans

assuming it has to be cats who are ready now, regardless of mentor status (so like, age-wise) hmmm

NettleClan is pretty difficult. I mean, not really; the obvious and popular choice is Berrystar. She’s proven herself a capable warrior and a good mentor, but she’s very young for a leader choice. Assuming I’m not able to pick Crowstorm as a leader since he’s currently deputy (and you said completely new), this doesn’t leave that many cats! Not all the cats who are old enough are fit for the position...

I think Badgerstar would be what I’d pick! He’s a kind cat, but I think he could step up to the plate if given the chance. Having an ex-FogClan cat as leader could help the rest of the outsiders in NettleClan feel more welcome as well. I think he’d be the sort of leader who actively encourages the younger generation and instills a lot of loyalty in them because of it! And he’d be the type of cat to choose Berryclaw as a deputy.

CreekClan, despite being my first Clan, might actually be the hardest... Currentfang and Hollyfur really are the only cats that can currently fill in the leadership spots. Sparrowheart stepped down for a reason, but if there were no available cats because Currentfang and Hollyfur suddenly kicked the bucket at the same time, he would step up to take the spot back provided he had the rest of the Clan’s support. He doesn’t want the spot, but he doesn’t want to see his Clan sink, either, so from a narrative point of view — either Sparrowheart never stepped down or he steps up. 

However, if someone else were to step up, he wouldn’t fight for the spot! Though I don’t think I can see anyone else truly stepping up to the plate... There aren’t many cats in CreekClan with many leadership qualities, and the only other cat with enough balls to do it would get a lot of backlash for that decision!

For simplicity’s sake, there isn’t much protest about his stepping up. So, if Sparrowstar were suddenly leader, there are a few cats he’d consider for deputy... Doveheart is an old friend, but he’d be worried about her state of mind; the same could be said for Goosewing, who he previously didn’t get along with. In the end, he’d have to choose between one of the two, because there aren’t any other cats who could step up... Doveheart might have a few cries of protests due to her history with her old family, though Sparrowheart doesn’t know the full story... but Goosewing has been taking her life back, and Sparrowheart would want to give her the opportunity to grow even more. She’s unsure of herself, and he knows what that’s like, so he’d want to be there to help her figure it all out.

JaggedClan is a bit easier! I’ve always been on team Stonestar, and that’s no surprise! I love how she’s developed, even if I haven’t been there to see all of it, and I think she’d be a great leader. It’d be a great surprise for Palestar to see when she comes back eventually! I don’t know a lot about JaggedClan or its cats, but from the journey, I know who I’d pick even if I’m not sure who Stonefang would pick. I’d pick Owlheart to be deputy! I remember a few interactions of when he was younger, and seeing him now, I can see how much he’s grown! I’m not sure if he’d be a good pick for deputy, honestly, if his temper is still there, but I think Stonefang could whip him into shape as one. I think it’d prepare him for a future as a leader! The responsibility would make him have to grow even more, and I think it’d be good opportunity for him to mature into someone even more respectable.

I don’t know!! This took me a while, and CreekClan was difficult because I didn’t want to pick my own oc, especially one who’d already served as deputy, but I couldn’t think of anything else that could work ): if you haven’t already, please send this to some other people in threeclans too!! I wanna see what they think!

My Main Warrior Cats OCs

I thought about it and I kind of want to document my ocs a little? Mostly so I don’t forget them, but also so you guys can learn about them! These are characters that sometimes recur in my stories, or ones that I’ve used more often for certain plots. They can be mixed and matched and put into nearly any story I want!

Tinypaw

mute calico she-cat

fairly easily frustrated when it comes to not being listened to/misunderstood but otherwise a level-headed and neutral character that hasn’t seen much development outside of her initial creation

was at one point used in a story where she had her speech taken from her, but at the end would have been given it back - but the story never finished and that sort of thing is eh so if i used her nowadays, her muteness would remain intact

Sparrow & Leaf

sparrow is a russet, red-brown tabby tom / leaf is a brown tabby tom with a white chest

sparrow and leaf are polydactyl

the brothers are the kits of a thunderclan warrior (usually the deputy) and a loner. their mother dies due to twoleg interference and the kits are left on their own - leaf begins having dreams about clan life and goes to the clans, but sparrow, thinking that the clans lured their mother to her death on a thunderpath, seeks revenge, thinking that they’ve stolen his brother too

sparrow becomes a fearsome rogue who attacks clan cats periodically - he is big and strong and often ambushes cats who are alone. leaf however becomes a medicine cat apprentice in thunderclan named leafpaw

thunderclan’s leader, at the behest of leafpaw, invite sparrow in to thunderclan - as punishment for his actions, sparrowpaw spends a long time as an apprentice to their leader, brightstar, who teaches him everything she knows

leafpaw becomes leafwhisker and sparrowpaw becomes sparrowclaw - sparrowclaw replaces his father as deputy and then becomes leader when brightstar dies

Holly, Cherry, Rose & Marigold

holly, cherry, rose, and marigold are the kits of sparrowstar and his ex-mate, spottedfire

holly is a polydactyl tortoiseshell / cherry is a pretty tortie with white patches / rose is a very pale ginger she-cat / marigold is a tortoiseshell with golden shading

holly is the eldest of the kits and becomes leafwhisker’s apprentice - she holds a sense of duty towards keeping her sisters safe

cherry is the deputy’s apprentice - she is arrogant and vain, and mean to her sisters, especially holly, whom she thinks of as ugly. cherry trains with the dark forest/becomes a villain

rose tries her best to lead the life of a normal warrior while her sisters feud and often finds frustration with her sisters but eventually comes to terms with things and sort of... has her own life outside of them because its healthy for her

marigold dies as a kit - she sparks spottedfire to break up with sparrowstar and cause a divide between the kits. marigold guides holly and is the reason why holly becomes a medicine cat

Nightshade & Ivyshade

nightshade is a medicine cat - almost always the one that trains leafwhisker

nightshade falls in love with a cat and breaks the medicine cat code (its often implied that it is leafwhisker that she falls in love with, but nowadays i think the affection was one-sided on leafwhisker’s part) and she dies giving birth to ivyshade

ivyshade’s origins are assumed within the clan because nightshade was the only black cat at the time - these origins are hardly spoken of

in defiance of the clan, sparrowstar takes ivyshade as his apprentice, and then as his deputy

leafwhisker acts as ivyshade’s uncle and often dotes/spoils her
