OC Smash or Pass

@sergeantnarwhalwrites got me for this one, I've never done this before so I just copied their rules.

rules: pretty self explanatory. include physical descriptions or pics, and propaganda. the “other” label can be used for “sexuality misalignment” (ie: oc is femme and you’re gay, vice versa or you aren’t into smashing but have a specific thing you wanna do with them like perhaps hug or study them under a microscope idc)

I'm going to do this for Alyss because I finally found the perfect faceclaim for her! Its Morgana from Merlin BBC (played by the lovely Katie McGrath) because she radiates rage and beauty and also more-than-slight unhingement.

Physical attributes: Dark brown/Black hair, pale blue eyes, fair skin, 5'9", Mid-20s, Thin frame, Strong and a trained infantry soldier.

Personality: Before the war, Alyss was known for being occasionally withdrawn, enjoying art, reading, as well as seaside walks and cycling. She could be flirtatious and had a keen sense of humor with friends. When angry she preferred to walk away from conflict rather than engage. After she is discharged from the service, she is frequently agoraphobic, sarcastic and often harsh to others, jaded, quick to anger, and more than happy to back up her anger with fists. She suffers from periods of complete detachment from the world around her, and experiences flashbacks. Despite that, she is fiercely loyal and protective of anyone needing aid, and has a strong moral compass.

Other/Misc: As a former initiate to the church, she is well educated despite growing up working class; a mage with a preference for fire magic; bisexual; bilingual (Ritanian/Latin) with ability to read in Demotic; out of your league.

Okay! I didn't mean to procrastinate this for almost twenty days, but here we are, so

Ranger's Apprentice actors AU [first thing]

Ranger's Apprentice is a new series about young Will, who finds himself the apprentice of the ranger of his fief, and his friends. Now introducing our cast:

Will's actor was almost exclusively a stuntman before getting this role, so not only is it his first lead role, it's also his first acting role in general.

Horace's actor met Will's in stunt work, also being a stuntman. He had a few roles before Ranger's Apprentice, so he has more acting experience of the two friends.

Halt's actor is the newest actor of the older group, since he's been bouncing through schools and jobs after dropping out of business school. Halt is his first big role.

Gilan's actor started acting and stunt work in his late teens and hasn't stopped ever since. He mostly worked on action movies and other similar genres.

Crowley's actor never had any formal acting education, but that didn't stop him from being quite the talented actor. His experience ranges from indie films to bigger productions, from comedies to tragedies.

Alyss's actress was classically trained and didn't really do cinema before getting dragged into this by her agent and a friend or two. That doesn't mean she was reluctant to take the role after learning about it though.

Cassandra's actress started as a child actress in sitcoms, dramedies and other types of comedies. She was the one to propose the role to her agent, really excited to move to another genre.

Duncan's actor comes from a family of actors and artists, so he had experience with the industry even before starting to work in it. He started as scenarist before moving on to acting.

Morgarath's actor is one of the most experienced actors on set so far, having started stage acting at the age of nine years old and film acting (amazingly accurate terminology by yours truly) at sixteen.

Hey ya'll! I've been desperately trying to get back into writing lately (its been a minute), but between work and some health concerns I've been a little off my game. BUT I have done a little writing practice with some of my characters from BG and Pathfinder, so I figured I would share.

Please enjoy a little descriptive/characterization piece I wrote for Alyss (pictured below) arriving in the Shadow Cursed Lands.

Aylss’ heart sank to her boots as she took her first steps into the shadowlands. After a week of crawling through the underdark, she had the smallest glimmer of hope that she would see the sun again. That she could sleep once more under the open sky. Those hopes died as her party squeezed out of the small pass, stepping onto a path alit with torches.

The world around her was unlike any that she had ever seen before. Encroaching shadows, inky and dark, seemed barely constrained by the torchlight around them. The very air was thick with them. Dense clouds of grayish fog curled from the ground like smoke, leaving Alyss with only the vaguest of impressions of thick, creeping vines and rocky cliffs that loomed out at her like horrid abominations. 

She drifted closer to the flickering light, battling down the sudden rise of bile in her throat and her pounding heart. Her feet felt frozen to the ground, unwilling to carry her further into the drowning darkness. Breaths came in short and labored bursts, never quite seeming to fill her lungs before the next ragged pull of damp air must be taken. It was as if the very sky had dropped onto her shoulders, as if every patch of sullen grass and twisted vine hid hostile eyes. 

It was beautiful. Horridly beautiful. Like a shattered inkwell spilled upon the contents of a page. With trembling hands, she reached into her pack and selected a torch, holding it to the weakened flame of those that lit the path. It was almost embarrassing, the sigh that escaped her when she held that little bit of light. But as she glanced back at her companions, she saw the same relief reflected in their eyes as they beheld the torch like a beacon. Even Lae’zel, who had hardly balked at an army of goblins and ogres, who fought a bullette without complaint, seemed unnerved by this wretched place. The only one the shadows could not seem to reach was Shadowheart. 

“A blessing of Lady Shar, I think.” She explained, voice steady. Despite her words, Alyss noted the way she gripped her holy symbol just a little bit tighter as she stepped toward the shadows. 

“No… no sense in waiting.” Alyss stated, doing her best to ignore the tremor in her own voice.

“Should someone scout ahead?” Astarion asked. Silence stretched between the party. It had become common practice among them for Astarion or Alyss to lead from a distance, spotting enemies and traps in the path before the rest of the group could stumble into an ambush. No one, however, seemed willing to step beyond the torch’s feeble light. 

“Together then.” Alyss said. “Stay close.” 

Cautiously, she took her first step beyond the path, her party clustered closely behind. Together, they stepped into the dark.

Another characters-in-a-grey-void-and-game-screenshots post! I played the InZOI demo and loooooved it, I seriously hope the full game releases. I made my oldest OCs, Alyss and Trey, and it was so fun. I wanted to make more characters but the demo was timed and now I can't play it anymore :sob:

I was surprised by how much I liked the male options in the demo. Usually men are an afterthought in dress-up-y games but I seriously loved the fashion and options available. I LOVE this Trey design, I love his twiggy little legs. I did not catch his likeness in the first sketches I did, so I'll need to practice that.
