Doing fine in the storm so far. The winds are the scary thing right now. Another huge band of rain is supposed to wallop us about 5:00am. Blu's loving it! He constantly wants to go outside, caught him lying on his outside cot in the wind and rain tonight. Weirdo! 😆
#blu❤️#dogs#glad i haven't had time to take the xmas stuff down yet#adds some cheer to the kinda scaryness#i mean we're ok#not like a hurricane#although some eighty and seventy mph gusts have been recorded in the region#slight flooding is not an impossibility#but its never happened in our neighborhood#mostly worried about trees falling on the house#objects crashing through windows#leaks in roof#fence falling#non life threatening#hopefully

The mustache
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x f!reader
Warnings: none
Summary: Natasha crashes your date
Masterlist
You let a fake laugh bubble out of your mouth for what feels like a hundredth time this evening. Your date looks smug, her eyes trailing over your form, almost leering. She takes a sip of her wine and licks her lips slowly, daring you to look.
You don't.
You can almost hear Natasha say I told you so.
You clear your throat and take another bite of a perfectly made steak - the only saving grace of this disastrous date.
You mentally cringe, closing your eyes briefly. Objectively, the date is going well - she showed up on time, held the door for you, helped you to your seat and made perfect small talk, occasionally throwing in a joke or two. You can excuse her wandering eyes, knowing you've been throwing mixed signals all evening.
You nod along to whatever story she's telling, smiling and chuckling when it's appropriate. You barely resist the urge to excuse yourself. You chew on your lower lip, wondering how you allowed yourself to get in such a mess.
Your phone chimes once, screen lightning up with a new notification.
Natasha.
Yep. Here's your answer.
You look at your date, hating how different her smile is from your best friends. It's too large, too open and not even half as genuine. Natasha's smiles are small, barely noticeable, but they're enough to make your breath come short.
You sigh. You need to stop comparing your every date to Natasha.
“Do you mind if I take a look? It might be important,” you ask, reaching for your phone. She nods happily, waving the waiter over for another glass of wine.
How bad is it?
You snort, coughing immediately to cover up the sound and reaching for your glass.
Another message appears right in front of your eyes.
That bad?
You choke on your wine, discreetly looking around, but coming up short.
Six o'clock, dumbass.
You wait a moment and look right behind you, mouth falling open when you finally see her.
She's sitting three tables down, wearing your favorite hoodie and a black cap. With sunglasses covering her eyes. In a dimly lit restaurant. What makes you let out a strangled laugh, though, is a perfect old fashioned mustache glued right under her nose. She twirls both ends around her fingers, curling them up, before lowering her glasses and sending you an exaggerated wink.
The best spy in the world, the woman who made entire governments collapse, is sitting right behind you, looking like a child playing dress up.
You whip around, your face red, and wave off your date's concerned look. “I'm alright.”
She nods, all too happy to continue talking about all of the famous people she's met through her job.
You hide your phone under the table and shoot your best friend a text.
You're ridiculous
Her reply comes instantly.
And yet you love me.
Her words hit a little too close to home.
You are hopelessly in love with your best friend.
Another message comes through.
What's wrong?
You frown, eyes darting around. You didn't even do anything to warrant the question.
And don't even try to lie. I can tell something's wrong.
You sigh, tell Natasha everything is fine, and place your phone face down on the table, your date still recounting a story of how she met some actress.
The next half an hour is tense. You can feel Natasha's eyes on you. You can hear her plotting a way to get you out of here, but you know you have to at least try to make it work, if not with… Connie? Courtney? Then with someone else, before you go completely mad.
Your phone rings. You can't stop yourself from picking it up.
“Sorry, it’s an emergency.” Your excuse sounds bad even to your own ears, and you wince when your date pointedly looks away with pursed lips.
“Do you want me to throw her out of the window?” She starts without a preamble. “If not, I have a knife in my boot and you know how good I am with knives.”
“Can't you handle it without me?” You ask, knowing Natasha will play along. Your date reaches for her purse, dejected. Guilt swirls in your chest, and you contemplate your next words. Maybe you should stay and-
“Don't feel bad, she's been looking at the blonde to your right since she came in,” Natasha drawls, “and no, I can't handle it without you. I need you back home.”
You blush, biting on your lower lip.
“I'm sorry, but there's been an-”
“Just go,” your date cuts you off, “I'll handle the bill.” Her eyes are on the blonde girl before she's done speaking, and you leave with your conscience clear.
Natasha catches up to you outside and leads you to her corvette - her sunglasses and cap are gone, but that ridiculous mustache is still in place.
“What do you think?” She asks as she opens the door for you before going around the car and taking a seat behind the wheel. “I like the look.”
You snort and shake your head, amused with your best friend's antics. “It's… something.”
She rolls her eyes, starting the engine. “I know you love it.”
You hum, relaxing against the soft leather, your worries stoved away by Natasha's calming presence.
“Why do you keep going on dates if you hate it so much?” She asks when you reach Compound gates.
You sigh, think of an answer that would get her off your back without making her suspicious.
“I just… I-” you stutter, wincing.
Great.
She raises an eyebrow, looking absolutely ridiculous, but so, so beautiful, it makes your entire chest ache.
The car comes to a stop, and Natasha focuses all of her attention on you.
“I need to get over someone.”
There, you've said it.
“Who?” She asks, and for the first time in all the years you've known her you can't read her at all.
“You don't know them.”
She looks ahead, her jaw clenched tight. “How long?”
You blink away the tears. “A few years.”
She looks down at her lap, her fingers tapping against her thigh. “Who?” She asks again.
“Natasha…”
“Is it Carol?” Her voice is tight, her eyes dart around the street.
“God no,” you chuckle, thinking about your blond friend. Valkyrie would kill you on the spot if you even looked at her the wrong way, not that you're interested anyway. They need to get over themselves and finally admit their feelings to each other. Anyone can see their pining from a mile away.
“Kate?”
You shake your head. “You don't know them.”
“Then tell me. What would it matter?”
“Nat, can we just-”
“Tell me.”
You groan, and turn to open the door, but Natasha’s hand landing on your thigh stops you. You swallow, freezing on the spot.
“Please.”
You close your eyes, bracing yourself for the inevitable. “It's you,” you whisper.
The hand on your thigh clumps tight. “What?”
“It's you,” you repeat, feeling braver after the admission. “Always you.”
She lets out a deep, shaky breath, before reaching for your face with her other hand. “Look at me, please.”
You face her, eyes still closed, a few tears sliding down your cheeks. They're wiped away a moment later, and your face gets enveloped in the softest warmth.
“Open your eyes.”
You swallow, and do as she asked. She looks at you like you're the most precious thing in the world.
“I love you.”
Your heart skips a beat at her words, lips falling open. “What?”
She smiles, her thumb tracing patterns on your wet cheek. “I love you.”
You look at her for a long moment, taking in her features - her forest green eyes, tender and soft, the slope of her nose, so kissable. Your eyes trail lower and then suddenly a loud laugh makes its way out of your chest. You bend, clutching your stomach, happy tears gathering in the corners of your eyes.
Natasha looks delightfully confused.
“I'm sorry, it's just…” you giggle, pointing at her face, “the mustache.”
She groans, tearing it away. “I've been going crazy all this time, you know.”
“Yeah?” You grin, head spinning.
“Yeah,” she says before claiming your lips. She's soft, so soft it makes your toes curl and your chest get warm and fuzzy. The kiss is gentle, loving. You mewl against her, opening your mouth and welcoming her tongue.
The kiss grows heated.
“I,” you gasp between the kisses, “I love you. So much.”
You can feel her blinding smile in the next kiss, and the one that comes after.

Rhiannon
dean winchester x hippie!reader
1.4k | fluff, fem pronouns
summary: as stevie nicks once said; wouldn’t you love to love her. dean could agree with that statement. one hundred percent.
*based on this request
the early morning sun shined in through your window, arrays of pinks, purples and blues mixing in from the multiple coloured crystals and little stained glass designs you had bought. this is why dean loved coming to your apartment. the atmosphere. all the comfort and peace the you had brought into it.
you were the calm that dean needed in his hectic life. the anchor the held him down when things got too much.
he met you when sam had left for stanford, the wounds fresh as he threw back shot after shot in a dingy bar. you were just passing through, a couple of miles away from your apartment and needing to quickly stop somewhere to use the bathroom.
dean’s eyes caught you moving across the bar, the way your jeans hugged your lower half and the flower pattern on your tank top drawing him in. when you retreated from the ladies room, dean was on you like a predator on prey, attempting to elicit a little one night stand.
but you politely declined. though when you tried to walk away from the beaten down man, you saw something else entirely in his eyes.
he looked sad, and you couldn’t help but a feel a bit of empathy for the guy in front of you.
that is how you were raised. your parents telling you to always look for the good in people, being aware of emotions. you weren’t stupid, you understood when people were trying to take advantage of you. but you just liked to be helpful, wanting to make an impact one person at a time.
for the rest of the night, you sat with dean in a booth as he rambled on about his brother and what had happened. he told you that he understood why sam wanted to go on to get a higher education, but he just couldn’t understand why it had to be so far away; why it made their father so angry.
you comforted him the best to your ability. explaining that sometimes people needed a change in their life, and just because his brother left for university doesn’t mean he stopped loving him.
when you both went your separate ways in the parking lot, you couldn’t help but notice the stumble in dean’s step. he knew he was too intoxicated to drive, and was fully prepared to sleep in the impala stationed in the parking lot of the bar.
something inside of you believed that you needed to be of help to this man. and in hindsight, you did the stupidest thing you possibly could’ve done. the one thing parents always warned their kids not to do.
you invited dean to crash at your place.
it was dumb, you knew that. you had just met dean, and he could be an axe murderer for all you know. but the guy was really going through it. and he was so drunk, that you believed the weight of any harmful object in his hands would probably knock him down.
that night, dean slept on your couch, peaceful snores leaving his lips as you slept comfortably in your bed. when he woke up in the morning, dean completely forgot where he was. and then it all came back to him. seeing you in the bar, trying to sleep with you, you turning him down, which then turned into a therapy session that landed him to crash on your couch.
dean was fully planning on leaving, but he couldn’t help himself in taking a peak around your place.
from the couch, he could see the multitude of plants and flowers the covered your living space. it was like a garden, a comforting vibe that also warranted a lovely smell to the home.
there was colour all over the place. from the stained glass lamps on coffee tables to the rows of crystals hanging on string in front of your window. everything was so bright and colourful, and dean couldn’t help himself but stare at the moving colours across the wall.
he also smelt a lingering lavender smell, which was then over powered by the aroma of bacon and pancakes coming from somewhere else in your home. dean couldn’t help himself, he loved bacon. so like a man hypnotized, he followed the debilitating scent of bacon that lingered throughout the air.
as he made his way into the kitchen, he found that the rest of your home was just like the living area. adorned by breezy light pink curtains was a small window over your sink, housing mini plants a crystals alike. there were flowers everywhere. an arrangement by the stove, on the counter, even in the sink. it was overwhelming, but in a good way.
“wow,” he mumbled, groggily slumping into one of the bar stools in front of your counter. “that’s a lot of flowers.”
dean’s voice brought a laugh from your lips, making him look over to where you stood by the stove, stacking pancakes possibly as tall as he was. to this day, dean doesn’t know what it was in the room. all the flowers and greenery, the slight breeze from the open window, maybe it was just your intoxicating beauty. but at that very moment, you looked absolutely ethereal.
you just looked so pretty. the long white skirt falling loosely on your hips. the simple black t shirt that made a perfect canvas for the two braids you put in your hair. he looked down to notice that you were wearing crazy coloured striped socks on your feet, and dean couldn’t help but smile at the little pop of colour that you added to your otherwise basic outfit.
bringing over two plates of breakfast, you sat beside dean at the counter and ate together, just talking and getting to know one another.
it was a simple morning, filled with laughs and weird fun facts that you two threw each others way. when you told him you planned to go to the farmers market, dean couldn’t help himself in taking your offer to come with.
he had never even been to one, not even caring in the slightest for what they had to offer. but some part of dean didn’t want this day to end, and in his heart, he knew he wanted to get to know you more.
you two spent the late morning walking around the farmers market, you grabbing some fresh produce and more crystals as dean took in his surroundings. some of the people he saw looked a little weird, but he knew they probably meant well, and that everything here honestly wasn’t so bad.
when you had grabbed a couple assortments of flowers, telling dean you planned to make some flower crowns at home, he also couldn’t resist in coming back to your place and weaving the stems together by your side.
you two were in a comfortable silence, weaving the crowns in synchrony when dean couldn’t help but break it. “why do you like flowers so much? i can’t help but notice how many you have in your living room alone.”
his words elicited a gorgeous smile from you, and you then went on to explain why you held them so dearly to your heart. “there is just something so beautiful about a flower. they start from a simple seed, then grow into something amazing. i know that probably sounds dumb and i might sound insane, but i just love the whole ideology of it.
“that isn’t dumb, and you most definitely don’t sound insane.” dean had placed his flowers on the ground, slowly reaching out to grab your hand. “in my life, i have to look for the good things at any chance i can find. it’s sometimes nice to have a flower grow out of a bad situation.”
his words brought a soft smile to your lips, and you squeezed his hand before going back to your weaving. “you know, i didn’t expect you to go so philosophical on me there winchester.”
dean grinned back, grabbing his flowers again and following your motions. “well, i’m just full of surprises, flower.”
after that, you and dean spent so much time together. and when dean finally got the courage to kiss you for the first time, it was like everything was more clear to him.
he understood sam’s leaving, and he even tried to reach out to him. he started coming into his own, becoming his own person and even fighting back to his father when he called you a temporary distraction.
that was all years ago. and now, as dean laid beside you, checking his phone to see if sam texted him about any cases, he couldn’t help but silently thank you for all that you’ve done for him.
with a kiss on your cheek, and a mumbled, “i love you, flower,” dean peacefully fell back asleep with you in his arms, completing him in ways he never knew he needed.

Doctor, Stalker, Special Agent
Spencer Reid x BAU!Reader
18+❤️🔥 MDNI‼️
TW: Unhinged/stalker/unraveling Spencer, smut, stalking
Too far, Spencer had gone too far and he knew it. But he was too far gone now to turn back. You were consuming him.
Click
You remove your shirt
Click
You remove your pants
He licks his lips and adjusts the lens on his camera. You are an absolute masterpiece. He can’t get enough of you.
Click
You stretch out like you always say after a long day. You bend over and touch your toes, giving him and your open window a full view of your perfect ass.
Click
You had driven him crazy all day. It was like you knew what you were doing to him- leaning down so your breasts peak out of your shirt right in his face. Grazing your ass against his thigh to walk past him in the bullpen. You even snatched his apple that day and bit it before tossing it back to him. He relished eating after you. He knew he wasn’t being himself.
He waited for you to finish stretching, pressing a palm against his aching cock to keep his need at bay. Finally you stepped into the bathroom and tossed your underwear and bra onto the floor outside the bathroom door.
He was quick, easing into the room as stealthily as possible. He snatched the sinful white lace panties off the floor and slid them into his back pocket with a smirk.
You wouldn’t miss them.
Maybe.
He inhaled the smell of your shampoo wafting from the other side of the slightly ajar bathroom door. He couldn’t get enough of your unique sent, even moaning as it engulfed him.
He finally decides to leave through the window which he came, slowly and with all his strength turning away from the object of his desire -naked and wet- just feet away.
“Oh fuck,” you mewl. Stopping him in his tracks as your angelic voice carries into the bedroom. “Dr.Reid-“
He couldn’t be hearing this correctly. There’s no way.
“Harder, right there,” you moan.
He gets closer the bathroom and can hear the sounds of you finger fucking yourself in the shower. Lewd squelching and moans have his dick standing at attention once more.
“Reid fuck!” You exclaim as you cum.
He braces himself against the wall, nearly exploding in his pants at the heavenly sound.
He had to go. Now.
So he did, he hurried out of the window and crashed into the drivers seat of his car-panting. He couldn’t help it, he pulled out his cock and pumped himself a few times until he finished while biting into your underwear.
—
“Coffee! Yay!” You squeak as Garcia hands one to you and Prentiss.
“No major case to brief on right now, Hotch wants everyone working their statements and files today,” JJ informs.
“Sweet,” Morgan snatches a donut from the counter and scoots out of the break area.
“Whoa what happened to you pretty boy?” Morgan whoops as Dr. Reid enters the bullpen looking particular sleep deprived.
“Long night,” he sighs.
You try not to watch him take those long strides to his desk, try not to focus on his disheveled hair and five o clock shadow. And was his tie crooked?
“Wonder what his deal is,” Prentiss frowns. You and Garcia shrug as he approaches for coffee.
“Morning Reid,” you beam like usual. His eyes dart to yours then immediately search for something else to look at. He offers you a flat smile.
“What’s up?” JJ tries to perk him up by smiling and elbowing him.
“Oh I know! You watched the Doctor Who marathon didn’t you!” Garcia points at him. “I told you you’d get sucked in and forget to sleep again.”
“I wish. I just couldn’t sleep,” he stirs his coffee and heads back to his desk.
“He’s been acting weird lately,” Prentiss notes.
“Foreal,” JJ agrees.
—
“Do you have that file on Roger West?” You peak over your desk to Reid’s.
He searches his stack and you find yourself licking your lips at watching his deft fingers work.
“No I think Morgan does,” he answers simply.
“Are you okay?” You walk over to his desk and lean against the edge of it.
“Yeah,” he clears his throat. You notice his cheeks turn red.
You reach over to scruff his hair like you’ve done playfully in the past but he captures your wrist. The electricity that jolts between the two of you is undeniable as he stares into your eyes.
There’s a silent acknowledgment of the heat between the two of you and he releases your wrist.
“I gotta- I need to find… I’ll be back,” he awkwardly dismisses himself.
You huff out a shakey breath and contemplate following him. When he doesn’t return in a few minutes, you head down the hallway he took.
“Reid?” You find him sitting at an empty desk in an empty office with his head in his hands
“You shouldn’t be in here,” he grumbles.
“Why? What’s going on with you?” You enter the office anyway and shut the door to give you two some privacy.
“I’m just having a problem, okay?” He shifts in his seat.
“What kind of problem?” You move towards the desk in a way that makes your tits jump. His eyes lock in on them and he throws his head back in frustration.
“You- it’s- you’re driving me crazy,” he breathes. He pushes his hair back from his eyes. When you smirk he tilts his head at you.
“What am I doing?” You play dumb and place your palms on the desk, leaning down and eyeing him.
He adjusts himself again, tugging at the fabric of his pants around what you can only guess is his hard cock. The desk hides it. He exhales a shakey breath.
“Does it hurt?” You glance downward and pout your lip.
“Yes,” he doesn’t hide it.
“And I did that?” You move around the desk.
He looks up at you with pleading puppy dog eyes but then he nods.
“I wanna see it,” you admit as arousal pools between your legs.
“What- I…”
“Please Reid,” you bat your eyelashes and park your ass on the desk in front of his chair. You spread your legs and rest your heels on either armrest.
He is physically shaking, he’s so turned on. You kind of wish you had wore a shorter skirt. But this one still gave him a nice look as your silk clad cunt.
He slowly undoes his zipper while you gently roll your skirt up… up… up. His eyes are fixated on the thin material covering your pussy. He isn’t aware of it but he’s licking his lips.
He pulls his hard cock free, his large hand almost able to wrap around the girth completely. The pink tip is angry and needy and he pumps it as you drag a finger up your core to tease him.
“So pretty, Reid,” you hum and circle your clit.
You buck your hips up and slowly remove your panties while he watches, whimpering and speechless. You slide them into his cardigan pocket.
You place one leg over his shoulder and slide him towards you.
“Do you want it?” You ask him.
“Yes please,” he begs.
“Then be a good boy and make me cum,” you pull him closer until your legs are on his shoulders.
He doesn’t hesitate to drag your hips closer to him, forcing you down on your back as he buries his face in your cunt. He moans into you and he drags his tongue from your entrance to your clit and sucks hard.
“Ah,” you moan softly.
It’s more to an he could have dreamed of, your taste, your moans, he could do this for hours.
He’s pumping his cock while he eats your pussy, greedily shoving his tongue into you and nuzzling against you with his entire face. You find yourself grinding against him, holding his head still while he devours you. His tongue flicks wildly over your clit until you’re biting back your moans.
When you think you can’t take it anymore he puts his cock in his left hand and slides two fingers into your cunt. He curls up while he eats you and works your G-spot. He moans in pleasure as he approaches his own climax.
“Gonna cum while eating me out Dr. Reid?” He grunts into you and focuses on bringing you to your orgasm.
“Fuck baby!” You pant as your stomach muscles tighten.
Then you’re shaking violently as you orgasm onto his face, clenching around his fingers which don’t stop fucking into you.
That’s it for him, he rolls the chair back and you watch as hot ropes of cum shoot from his cock. He bites his lip and throws his head back as he finishes himself with a series of lewd moans.
He eyes you as you roll your skirt down and he pushes himself back into his pants. Neither of you speak for a moment and you come down from your orgasms. His cheeks are red and his hair is messy, you reach over and wipe the sides of his mouth.
“My place, eight o clock tonight,” you say and walk towards the door.
He nearly stumbles coming after you.
“Okay, good, yeah,” he stammers awkwardly.
You turn and take his face in your hands, fixing his hair gently.
“It was about time we did something about this,” you smirk and grip his softening cock through his pants. He jolts and lets out a breathy laugh.
You kiss him gently and he returns with a needy sort of passion as he pulls you into him.
The office door opens and you stumble back off of him.
“Woah! Working overtime huh guys?” Morgan laughs.
“It’s not what it looks like!” Reid lies.
“Come on, we got a case,” he shakes his head.
Spencer follows you and Morgan back to the bullpen, he watches your hips sway, watches your hair move as you walk. You have no idea what you had just awoken in him.
Now that he got a taste of you, he wouldn’t be without it again. He checks his wallet to ensure that photo of you sleeping was still safe and sound behind his ID and smiles wickedly to himself.
“Reid? You coming?” You turn and ask.
“Yep!” He slides his wallet back into his pocket and hurries to the round table room.

plug!connie who go to war for his lady + some smut at the end💁🏽♀️
𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐫 (𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭. 𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐞 & 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐟) — 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭.
before you had time to process the movement around you connie had him pressed against the wall, one hand pressed flat beside his head as he levelled with him, ears steaming and a nasty mug. (the other guy,who had been previously feeling you up on the dance floor at some dingy house party you had been dragged to by sasha) tried to speak, but connie quickly cut him off by guiding a hand between them to press against a hard outline in his sweat pocket. "you feel that?" he closed his fist, forcing the other guys fingers to wrap around the heavy barrel of the object, watching his eyes widen and his breath shallow. "yea, you know what that is. back the fuck up,cabrón."
(the other guy) was rendered speechless, mouth open and closing dryly with a humiliating look on his face. "I—,,I—"
"I—..I—.." you winced as your boyfriend mocked the poor guy with a faux frown on his face,an inked hand coming up to grasp the boy's face. "what? you gon' try tell me it was an accident?"
by this point people were staring, and you suddenly felt embarrassment course through you. you gently tugged on your boyfriend's sleeve, stalling hopefully enough time for you to be able to convince him to leave before he took the situation too far.
"con, let's go,just leave it,i'm tired." you tried, but his eyes didn't leave the asshole in front of him,arm tensing as he tried to shrug you off.
"nah,'ion think he learned his lesson yet."
you sighed heavily, giving a slight roll of your eyes toward ony and eren, who were quietly watching everything unfold. ony had a hard look on his face, arms crossed tightly against his chest and unmoving as he watched connie with narrowed eyes. eren,on the other hand, had his hands hanging loosely in his pockets and a taunting grin on his face, clearly enjoying the entertainment for the night, and slightly proud of connie for giving the dick what he deserves for touching you. you motioned your head toward connie, silently asking them to do something. but neither of them budged, eren letting an airy chuckle pass his lips with a shake of his head.
"connie, let's just fucking go,he's not worth it."
"i already fuckin' told you,ma,i ain't movin'!" he snapped, irritated with your constant interference. he was doing this for you,so why were you so insistent on helping this mamahuevo?
"go wait in the car, princesa." he nodded over his shoulder at you,but his gaze still locked in front of him.
you obliged with another dramatic roll of your eyes, barging past a crowd of people to the door. you were too exhausted to fight him on it,deciding to just let him handle it and blow off whatever steam he needed so that he could come back your sweet, doting boyfriend after.
the car shook slightly as he threw himself into the drivers seat, inspecting the blood staining his knuckles to pinpoint whether it was his or the other guy's.
you sat there with a sour expression on your face, glaring out the window and refusing to look at him as he leaned over the back seat to grab a cloth and clean himself off.
"what?" he snapped,"what's with the face?"
you didn't answer him.
"aight,it's like that, then." he grumbled before starting the car.
the drive home had been silent, both of you exhausted and ready to crash.
you were now laying atop the black sheets of his lavish bed, fingers running along the edge of his large t-shirt he had thrown at you, muttering something about - 'since i know you gon' complain' - before hopping in the shower.
part of you wished you hadn't even gone back to his place, feeling sick with guilt. you don't know exactly what he did to the guy,you didnt want to ask,but you knew whatever it was connie must have fucked him up good.
when you heard the sounds of the shower shutting off,you told yourself you were going to act mad, readying yourself by rolling over with your back to the door.
you heard the thuds of his feet grow closer before you sensed his presence stop at the door, grunting when he noticed you were still giving him silent treatment.
a heavy hand came down to smack against your ass, making you jump and shoot him a nasty glare over your shoulder.
"move over,fat butt."
you didn't budge, until you felt the sting of another slap making you roll to get away from the assault.
he slipped into bed, pulling the covers right out from under you to then throw over your figure while he wrapped a tatted arm around your waist to pull you across nearly half the bed to snuggle into his chest. you huffed, defiantly wiggling your hips in an attempt to show him how pissed off you were, you didn't want to cuddle tonight. but he simply squeezed you in warning, grumbling and burying his nose in your neck - "stop fuckin' movin'."
you refused, struggling to slide out of his tight grip on you. you were met with another slap to your ass, cheek stinging with the force of it,much harder than the other ones. he soothed the burn slightly with a rub, gripping your mushy cheek between his fingers and kissing at your shoulder. "i told yo ass stop fuckin' movin'. don't play wit' me."
you debated telling him to fuck off,but the feeling of him pressed against you, putting you in your place was too arousing to try crawl away once more. so you stayed put this time, instead rubbing your hips backward to appease him as he gripped up your hip, placing wet,open-mouthed kisses down your spine.
"your dick hard, perv." you deadpanned, making him chuckle into your skin, smoothing his lips over the intricate lettering tattooed into your back.
"you the one backing yo' shit up."
"you pulled me."
another laugh,"yea,guess i did."
he travelled back up to press his lips against the tip of your ear, running his tongue along the ridge before pressing another, much softer, kiss to the fat of your cheek. "so you gon' come sit on it? help papi out?"
"in your dreams!" you scoffed, knowing damn well you'd be creaming all up on it later.
"ahh— con! 's too much!"
"you a big girl, you can take it." the smack of his swollen balls against your ass had you reeling, practically choking on your own spit as you clawed at his beautiful decorated chest, swirls of red and black clouding your vision while his broad figure leaned right over you. you were being folded in half, knees pressed right up to your chest, blocking your feeble attempts at pushing him away.
the boom of the speaker on his dresser and the pungent smell of weed had you feeling faint, the tip of his dick abusing your sore cervix.:(
"stop fuckin' whinin',actin' like a lil girl." he demanded with a slap to your puffy clit, making you cry out.
he switched positions, dropping your legs and letting the burn of your sore muscles subside for a moment, leaning down to rest his forearms against either side of your head, feeding you his dick in much more fluid strokes rather than a violent pounding.
"mm— 'm not.." you brought two hands to grip at the flesh of his ass, feeling the muscles contract within your palms with each push into you. his brows furrowed, bringing an arm up to grip against the headboard, foreign curses falling from his parted lips.
you laughed lightly, eyes heavy-lidded and a goofy grin spread across your face. "i can tell when you gonna cum,connie.. stop actin' all tuff.. "

How to install the world / save
When you download the world it comes with install instructions for you to follow!
I also want to clarify that the world is not my work, it's from a creator that unfortunately left the community a long time ago.
🌷 World
To install the save file you just put it inside your saves folder! Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves
🌷Strawberry Acres (save file)
FAQ
Please read everything before you ask me any questions!
🌷 I'm having issues installing the world through my launcher, can you help me?
If you're experiencing issues with the launcher your best option is to convert it to a package file and install it that way.
🌷 Some of the rabbit holes are missing, how do I fix it?
The only reason besides missing EP's i've found that causes that is if the files have been merged, this includes CC magic too. If you use that tool, don't put the rabbit hole files in that folder.
🌷 All of the townies have the same bald and short bob hairstyle, why?
I'm not sure why but it seems like those are the default hairstyles the game gives them if you're missing the hair that was used. You either have to replace them yourself or put the hairstyles i've provided links to in your game.
🌷 When I opened the town there was no trees/bushes or flowers placed in the world?
When you download the world there's a folder called custom content, you need to put the package file inside in your mods folder. It includes a lot of the world objects and landscaping used in town.
🌷 When in the main menu I can't click on the save / the button is greyed out. How can I fix it?
I know of a few possible reasons to this, it's either that you're missing a necessary EP or that your game doesn't match the game version you need for the world / save. My game is on the latest version that was put out for windows, as for the world i'm not sure.
🌷 Do I have to put all of the custom content in my game to use this save file?
Not really, but it's really recommended if you want the full experience, it won't look like the pictures if you don't have it all.
🌷 I'm having issues with crashing when using your save file, how do I fix it?
This is almost impossible for me to answer, there's a lot of reasons that could be. I have a gaming desktop and barerly have any issues with my game, for me the town runs really smooth and crashing is rare so i'm not sure. There's loads of videos on youtube explaining how to fix a game that is lagging / crashing. I really reccommend Acottonsock!
TOU:
As always, do whatever you want with it, but please don’t re-upload or claim as your own!

♱ Father Forgive Me (For I have Sinned) ~Chapter One ♱
Lucifer Morningstar x Angel!Reader Fandom: Hazbin Hotel Chapter One Warnings: Slight mention of blood, profanity, mild violence How to find the other chapters in my pinned post
♱Where the purest soul in Heaven falls for the Devil♱
[Chapter One]
♱♱♱
“What?”
You stared at Adam incredulously, wings almost stuttering to a stop mid-air. He stared back, unfazed at your reaction as you backed away and up from him, mind reeling. You were both suspended in the air, held up by your moving wings, but you felt like you were going to plummet to the ground any second.
The recently opened Pentagram in the sky flickered at the edges around the gaping hole that had allowed the angels to enter Hell. To be fair, you weren’t supposed to be there- you weren’t an exterminator, but Adam had managed to get you permission to join him, arming you with a spear and calling it protection. Plus, if you wanted to go, it wasn’t like the Seraphim would object. It wasn’t a secret, the soft spot they had for you- although, unlike Adam, you did your best to abstain from exploiting it for your every whim.
“What’s the big deal?” He raised an eyebrow. “Don’t wanna marry me? I’m the First-“
“First Man, I know,” you frowned, voice strained, at his blatant arrogance. “But Hell in the middle of an extermination isn’t exactly the place to propose to someone, Adam.”
“I was gonna say First Dick,” he grumbled. “Why the fuck you gotta be so complicated? Just fuckin’ say yes. I’m the First Di- Man, you’re the purest soul in Heaven, it only makes sense-“
You balled your fists, forcing yourself to keep a level head. “Have you considered that maybe I don’t want to marry you?”
Adam almost seem to freeze in mid-air. His still beating wings gave it away. “Why the fuck not?” He snarled. You flinched, and his face softened slightly.
“You know I won’t stop trying until you say yes,” he declared. You rolled your eyes, raising up and away into the red sky.
“Just stop trying,” you snapped, and with a powerful beat of your wings you set off into the distance, ignoring Adam’s calls, voice chasing after you, commanding you to stay back.
Your eyes streamed against the wind. You knew Adam liked you, he hadn’t exactly been quiet about it, but there was a lot of stuff he wasn’t quiet about- a lot of stuff which, ultimately, was a turn off for you. You were definitely never going to marry him, and the sheer audacity for him to propose to you so casually, in the middle of Hell, just pissed you off in a way you couldn’t describe.
You sighed. There was no point dwelling on it now. A large silhouette in the distance began to form more clearly. A large- manor? Palace? You glanced down at the streets swooping away beneath you. They were deserted.
Weird. You mentally shrugged. People probably just didn’t want to get caught out in the middle of an extermi-
BANG!
Angelic bullets? Your mind barely registered the thought.
A searing pain stabbed into your wing, which went stiff. For a horrifying moment you were suspended in mid-air, your wings flapping frantically as you tried to stay up, a terrified cloud of feathers and limbs, before another BANG! tore through your remaining functional wing.
You screamed as you flapped your wings a few more pathetic times, careening straight towards the manor-palace. You crashed through a window, taking the curtains down with you, the glass showering you unceremoniously, cutting into your skin as you lay sprawled across the floor in a cloud of feathers. Your spear clattered onto the floor next to you, your wing twitching painfully.
You barely even managed to notice your own blood until you focused your vision. The light from the broken window filtered across your body, a slit cutting across the dark, shadowy room. Your gilded blood glinted in it, seeping into the carpet and the curtains which were buried beneath your weak form, staining the pure white of your splayed out wings.
A single white feather drifted down from the air and landed on your arm. You coughed. Gold sputtered from your lips and trickled down the side of your mouth.
Charming, you thought dryly.
The door of the room opened. You could just barely hear the creak above the blood pounding in your ears. You gulped, hearing footsteps get closer and closer to you-
“Well well well. What do we have here?”
I’m royally screwed, you thought, closing your eyes and waiting for the killing blow.
Instead, gentle, gentle hands touched your face, turning it towards the light and scraping hair away from your eyes. You flinched at the touch, then relaxed as the voice whispered something. You couldn’t make it what it was saying, but it was soothing. And calm. Your breathing evened out. You just barely managed to lift your heavy eyelids.
“Who are you?” Your mouth formed the words but your voice couldn’t get them past your throat without them coming out cracked and gravelly. The voice hushed you. You couldn’t make out the person's face. They were just a pale, blurry silhouette, leaning over your body.
“Close your eyes,” the voice said. “You’re safe now.”
You obeyed.
♱♱♱
You jolted, feeling a presence next to you. The warmth radiated off of them. You could sense their being there.
It was a struggle to unglue each eye open, and when you did, everything was blurry- it took you a few seconds to even realize you were in a bed. The soft covers rustled against your cheek, until you sat up. You blinked slowly and looked around, taking in your surroundings.
“Awake that quickly?”
You flinched, wings bursting out in alarm, unfurled over your head. The man sitting next to the bed you lay on raised an eyebrow, smirking. You gulped. “Who are you?”
“Never mind that.” He stood up, shaking down his rolled up sleeves. “How are your wings?”
You realized that they were still arched out from your back. You furled them back into your back, mortified. You also realized that they were painless.
“They’re healed,” you said breathlessly. The man flashed a prideful grin, revealing his sharp teeth. You narrowed your eyes suspiciously.
“How?”
“Simple. I healed them.”
You frowned, pressing your back against the wall to get as far away from him as possible. He simply stood there, crossing his arms. You blinked, slowly.
“Thank…you?”
“You’re welcome,” he said smugly. You tilted your head as he beckoned for you to stand up, which you did slowly. You glanced out the window. This one wasn’t shattered, and the curtains hung proudly. You were in a different room than the first. The red sky beyond glared at you tauntingly.
“How long was I out?”
“Oh, not long. Don’t worry. The extermination’s still on.” He winked at you. “Your pretty self won’t be stuck here until the next one.”
You remained silent, staring at him, begging to God that your blush wasn’t showing on your face.
It must have been, because his grin only widened.
“Why did you save me?”
“My own selfish desires, of course.” He flicked his hand at a pair of chairs. “Sit down.”
Not knowing what to say, you complied. He sat opposite you. You leaned forward slightly, scanning his face for a single expression that might betray what was going to come next. You found nothing.
He sat back, completely relaxed, which unnerved you more than you could admit. The light hit off of his blond hair and pale skin that made him seem almost… angelic. You knotted your fingers together in your lap, biting your lip and waiting for him to speak.
“So. An angel, huh? You don’t look like an exterminator. How’d you find yourself down here?” His voice seemed to darken a little with his next words. “Did you… fall?”
Your eyes widened in shock. “Of course I didn’t fall,” you spat. You weren’t usually hostile, but the anxiety of the situation was pressing down on you far too hard. “I got special permission to come down by the Seraphim.”
The sinner raised an amused eyebrow at your outburst.
“And who are you to ask me anything?” You continued, frazzled. “A mere sinner-“
“I wouldn’t finish that sentence if I were you.”
You clamped your lips shut at his tone. He smiled, satisfied, and continued.
“So, the Seraphim. Why’d they let you down here? They’re not the type to bend rules like that.”
“How would you know?” You said. “I said I wanted to go, they let me.”
“They must have a soft spot for you, then.” His eyes narrowed. “Or, you’re important.”
“I’m nowhere near important,” you snapped, crossing your arms. He nodded slowly. You couldn’t tell if he believed you or not.
For what seemed like another hour he continued to shoot questions at you, mostly about Heaven, and you hesitantly answered. You didn’t know why you stuck around as long as you did- refusing to acknowledge to yourself the sort of charm that beheld, the fact that he was so undeniably attractive, which you would never admit to yourself.
You relaxed when you heard him speak next: “You can go now. The Pentagram will close soon.” Pause. “Can you fly?
You stood up, dusting yourself off, and nodded before turning towards the window, which had magically pushed itself open.
“Wait,” he called out. You turned. “You should take this.” Your angelic spear materialised in front of you, dropping down into your hands.
You clambered out the window and jumped off, before hovering before it and turning to face him. The beat of your wings made the curtains sway. He leaned out, staring at you expectantly, as if he could sense what you were going to say.
“Now will you tell me your name?” You asked irritably. He smirked again, showing his sharp teeth this time. Your heart thumped in your chest.
“Course I can, angel. The name’s Lucifer. Lucifer Morningstar.” His grin widened as he winked again. “Pleasure to meet you.”
The words knocked the breath out of you almost immediately. For a minute you froze, standing there like a deer in headlights before turning and swooping away into the red sky, towards the closing Pentagram.
The name’s Lucifer. Lucifer Morningstar. The words echoed around your head relentlessly.
“Fuck.”

Our Objective Remains Unchanged by @citrusses
"Harry Potter, returning member of the Oxford University Boat Club, has two goals for the spring of 2005: beat Cambridge, and beat Draco Malfoy. Perhaps not in that order."
This has to be one of the most creative and meticulously researched fics I have ever had the pleasure of reading. If you haven't read it yet, don't walk— run! Citrusses is an absolute genius, and kindly gave me permission to bind her masterpiece.
The cover of this bind is made out four different shades of Allure bookcloth cut by my Cameo 4, and the centerpiece is printed and hand foiled. The banners were machine foiled in gold and black with hand foiled rose gold shading. The endbands were hand sewn with Gutermann silk thread.
You can find more pictures and information about my process under the cut.
The amount of inspiration this fic gave me was overwhelming, and Citrusses' writing fully immersed me in the world of competitive rowing. While designing this bind, I was struck by the sheer wealth of Oxford rowing memorabilia available to me. I settled on this 1929 illustration from an official publication on the Oxford and Cambridge Centenary Boat Race for the cover.
"How hard could it possibly be?" I thought, foolishly. The answer was HARD, but I'll get into that later.
Due to the wealth of design options, I believe that this may be the best typeset I have created to date. Thanks to the help of my friend @tsurashi-bindery, I was able to learn the basics of InDesign (kicking and screaming all the way). There will be spoilers in the text of these photos, so try not to read them if you haven't finished the fic!
For the title page, I modified To See the Crews in Training by Charles Pears (1930). I believe that this was part of a series of advertisements for the race in the London Underground.
For the chapter headers, I redrew the crest from an Oxford Oars, Flags, and Arms postcard, presumably pre 1914. I also had some fun creating a mock email using La_Temperanza's How to Mimic Email Windows on Ao3. Cormac's email makes me laugh every time I read it, and Citrusses provided an appropriately pompous subject.
I also had lots of fun editing the oars from the official OUBC logo to serve as dividers and decorations for the page numbers.
Additionally, I got to edit a full newspaper page for the fic! I was very excited find an opportunity to slip Leyendecker's The Finish (1908) in.
The fic ended beautifully, so I wanted to include one last element at the end to capture the atmosphere. I settled on L'aviron (1932) by Milivoj Uzelac. It makes me feel as though Harry and Draco will continue rowing together long after I've closed the book.
I of course had lots of fun sewing the headbands, and got to do it with not one but TWO copies!
Things got tricky when I had to recreate the cover. I had a poor understanding of how vector images worked, and ended up having to redraw it three times. Once I finally cracked and taught myself how to use Illustrator, the program crashed...and I had to redraw it a fourth time!
I set the vector to cut on my Cameo 4, and I assembled the pieces together like a puzzle on my Silhouette mat. I used Allure's indigo, skylight, white, and black bookcloth in the process. I will be making a tutorial video on this method, so I will keep it brief here.
I also cut a piece of bookcloth to 8.5"x 11" and fed it through my inktank printer to print the center design. I then cut it out using the print and cut feature on my Cameo 4. Both of these methods were a first for me, and they were very scary!!
To be perfectly frank, the foiling was a nightmare and I don't want to get into it. I machine foiled the gold, and then foiled black lettering on top of it. I foiled the rose gold shading by hand, and then foiled a thin black outline along the edge of the banners to make them stand out more.
I hand foiled the spines (because I'm scared of measuring), painted the exposed board (to hide any gaps in the inlays), and used transfer tape to lift my design from the Silhouette mat and onto the cover.
One more fun detail— my copy and the author's copy are sisters! The dark blue and the light blue are inverted on the author's copy, making it distinguishable from mine. This is the first time I have made an author's copy for a fic, and I was admittedly incredibly nervous. I always worry about what authors will think of my work, but Citrusses gave me an incredible amount of encouragement and support throughout the process! Thank you for trusting me with your precious fic!
This story is a work of fanfiction and can be read on Ao3 for free. My bind and typeset are for personal use only and not for sale or profit. Keep fandom free!

Pounding
Summary: Reader has a migraine, and Spencer wants to help.
Couple: Spencer Reid/Fem!Reader
Category: Hurt/comfort
Content warnings: none
Word count: 1.2k
The transition of seasons is something that has to be endured. It’s the time when you wake up to frost on your windshield in the morning but must remove your coat by the time you leave work. It is a painful time of inconsistency, especially for your sinuses. Not only with the pollen in the air (as well as on your car at all times) but the dryness as well. It causes your headaches to go from sometimes once a month to now twice a week.
And the first one happens this week, today. The migraine descended on you like a storm, brewing from your nasal cavities, its relentless waves of pain crashing against the shores of your temples. With each throb, the world around you seemed to blur and spin.
You shut the door to your apartment and let your bag fall from your shoulder, with no care with where it lands. Light, food, the smell of home is all too much to bear. With a sigh, you shuffle to the sanctuary of your room and bask in the silence while you can still control it. You unleash yourself from your business casual attire and fall into bed, nestling yourself under the covers.
The darkness relieves pressure, only slightly. It will probably be hours before it has settled, so you think it is best to call it a night now at 5:56 in the evening. There was no point in doing anything else as streetlights alone from the windows have proven to be enough to make the back of your eyes ache. You remained still, motionless, unmoved. Minutes could stretch well into hours without your knowledge.
Until the sound of the front door opened, cutting through the quiet. Spencer was home, which means it’s 6:06 now. The creaking floors from his aged apartment tell you he goes to the kitchen first, the sink runs, then his steps only grow closer to you until you can feel his presence at your back. “Migraine?” He asked, already knowing the answer.
It drains all energy and motivation out of you, so you merely nod in response. He’s more than familiar with severe head pain; chronic migraines that were resolved with a vitamin regimen. Fortunately, he has yet to complain about them bothering you in the year you’ve been together. And he never leaves home without them.
Unfortunately, this makes him eager to figure out your head pains. Last spring, he left out an array of vitamins in a pill organizer. They didn’t. It wasn’t an issue at first. It was clear he was trying to help. The downside of your boyfriend being a child prodigy and objective genius is that he will never back down from a challenge, even when you have asked him to. He can’t do it. Later in the month, he came home one day with an array of tea brands, mostly ginger and peppermint. He’s bought humidifiers, massaged the cartilage of your nose, and even consulted Reddit. It’s certainly worn down your patience, especially when you require complete silence.
“I can get you some hot compresses from the pharmacy if you want.” He jumps in completely. The last three words are merely to cushion the obvious; reiterating the point rather than saying something like, “I’ve had headaches before. I know how awful they are, so you should let me help you.” Which he’s also said.
You continue the annoying pattern by shaking your head with an audible moan. Opening your eyes hurts.
“What about nasal spray or decongestant? I can get those at the pharmacy as well.”
“I don’t need anything from the pharmacy. I took ibuprofen. Just need to keep my eyes closed.”
“Well, that can only help so much today. Saline will help encourage drainage and expansion in the vessels. Ibuprofen solves the head pain, not the root problem.”
“Unless the BAU can order planting fruit trees, it’s the best we can do.”
“What I’m trying to say is—”
You groan louder. “This isn’t a time for solutions, Spencer.”
Another unfortunate aspect of your relationship is that you can feel the way Spencer’s face softens from your tone. He then mutters out an apology, a brief sorry, but he doesn’t leave. He touches your shoulder and keeps his hand there until you turn to face him. And because you love him very much, you strain to open your eyes. You can make out a blur of his silhouette in the growing darkness, but still see clearly his glossy eyes and the quirk of his lips. “Can you do something for me first, though? Real quick?”
Before you answer, his hand slides toward your upper back, meaning you have to sit up for this. You were ready to say something along the line that he’s lucky you love him right now and leave it at that because thinking further made the pressure in your temples increase.
You didn’t have to speak at all, though. Because Spencer is also holding a glass of water in front of you. You look up at Spencer’s puppy-eyed silhouette. “Not a solution,” he says softly. “It’s something you always need.”
Well, if that didn’t make you feel like an asshole. You accepted the glass without a word, feeling the coolness against your palm as you brought it to your lips. Each sip, at the very least, a distraction from the throbbing. Spencer watches you closely. You had no choice but to finish the whole glass. And you did, leaving Spencer satisfied enough as he took the glass and walked out.
You didn’t say a word. The sink ran again, and Spencer returned with another full glass. He doesn’t hand it to you, instead puts it on the nightstand before turning precariously on his heels. It takes you a second through half-closed eyes to realize he’s walking back out. You’re afraid to ask, wondering if you’ve made him too upset to talk. You push yourself and do so anyway, keeping your tone in mind. “Where are you going?”
Spencer turns on his heels once more, looking around momentarily like there were others in the room. He then looks at you. “I figured you wanted to be alone.”
You reach out, moving through the pain quite literally, and you catch the polyester of his cardigan just between your fingers and pull him closer until you can wrap your arms around him. You hold your breath, knowing the intense smell of his laundry detergent would be enough to collapse down to your pillow in further pain. His cardigan is soft against your face. “Do you have other stuff to do?”
He chuckles, his abdomen bounces. So, he’s not too mad. “I do not.”
Encouraged by his response, you tug him gently (and not so gracefully) into bed. He’s delightfully warm. Spencer kicks off his shoes in response before pulling you close. Then you bury your face into his chest, hesitant to breathe in the scent of cedar that clings to the cardigan. You try best to ignore it as you cocoon yourselves beneath the blankets, finding refuge in each other’s company amidst the inner turmoil that comes with spring. You listen to the steady rhythm of Spencer’s heartbeat, and find a fleeting sense of peace in the storm.

The Fox's Den {Sylus x Reader}
This just kinda...spilled out of my brain... It started off as a few paragraphs and then spiraled into this, but uh, enjoy.
FAIR WARNING!!! THIS IS INCREDIBLY LONG, I MIGHT HAVE TO SPLIT IT INTO PARTS ACTUALLY IDK
|| Masterlist ||
-Seven
You’re finishing some paperwork at HQ when Jenna slides a manila folder on your desk.
“Advance tech labs has another mission for you.” She says and crosses her arms over her chest, “Hear them out first. Then go take a look.”
As if on cue, your watch beeps with a notification.
You click on it and the mission’s user interface window pops up.
Client: Unspecified - Investigative mission Status: ACTIVE Authorisation: Approved entry - No Hunt Zones: 105, 106, 107, 108
Task details: High-class Linkon residents have been seen carrying protocores to Fox’s Den, a host club, on the outskirts of Linkon. There are suspicions that the club is being used as a trading venue to sell and modify high-grade protocores into the N109 zone.
Objective: INVESTIGATE Fox’s Den FOR PROTOCORE SMUGGLERS. DO NOT ENGAGE OR ELIMINATE SUSPECTS. THIS IS AN INVESTIGATION ONLY.
As you re-read the objectives, Jenna speaks once more, “Have a look through this folder before heading to the Data Sector. ” She places her hand above the folder, “Nero and Tara are waiting there with some more information for you.”
You give her a small nod, “Yes, Captain. Will do.”
You do as you’re told and flick through the contents of the folder.
“Huh, the address is near the N109 zone?” You whisper.
Sylus has a safe house near there, I think.
It’ll be easier to complete the mission if you could crash there every now and then.
I’ll ask him when I have the chance.
There’s a few photos of the club tucked into the folder and from what you can see, it’s quite luxurious.
Entering the club shouldn’t be a problem with the brooch Sylus gave me. Hmmm. I might need to visit Jeremiah some time soon to forge another identity.
You sift through a few more pages and a photo catches your eye. It’s of a blonde woman with a hunter’s uniform and badge but stamped across the page is the word ‘TENEBRA’ in bold red lettering.
“Hmmm,” You hum as you read the sticky note attached, “If encountered, detain immediately? Who is this?”
What had she done to be labelled a Tenebra?
With that thought in mind, you think to your own situation.
Your involvement with Sylus is more than enough grounds to label you a Tenebra, but you brush that thought aside quickly.
“MC?”
Your head perks up from the sound of your name and you quickly press the folder to your chest, “Oh! Tara… Nero. I was just leaving to see you guys, actually.”
“About the case, right? Isn’t it interesting?” Tara grins, “But, yes we came here instead because Nero thinks that the Data Sector is too noisy.”
“They’re blabbing about all the time, it’s dizzying.” He retorts.
He pulls a nearby chair and motions for the two of you to come around, “Come, we’ve got work to do.”
The three of you discuss the case for a while until you ask, “Why am I being sent alone? Aren’t mission usually done in pairs?”
“Yes, well… Technically, it’s only an investigative mission, so the higher-ups don’t think we should waste resources on a mere investigation.” Nero makes quotation marks with his fingers. “You’ve got orders not to engage where possible.”
Tara leans forward to argue, “But even still, Fox’s Den is surrounded by no hunt zones! Isn’t it dangerous?”
“Yes, that’s true, and speaking of which…” He opens some tabs up on his laptop, “As I’m sure you’ve seen, you’ve been approved access to all no hunt zones surrounding the area.”
You nod, looking back at your watch and also the map that spread across the table.
“But that’s not the problem.” Nero continues, “The problem is getting into the club.”
You furrow your brows, “What?” You tilt you head, “Can’t I just go in as a client?”
He clicks his tongue, “They’ve got a very specific clientele.” He says and then draws a rectangle with his fingers, “Invite only.” He emphasises. “Did you think you could just waltz into the place?Everyday?”
You tense for a moment. I thought… with the brooch...
But you can’t tell them about the brooch; They’ll ask you how you got it. So you settle with, “I- well,” you scratch your temple, “I haven’t really thought that far yet.”
...
Your meeting with the two ended just as the sun dipped completely below the horizon
Somehow, they’ve got you a position as one of the hostesses.
You huff. You don’t know a thing about being a hostess.
To be fair, being a hostess would give you the widest variety of intel.
Never had you thought you’d be going undercover like this, but the job must be done, you suppose.
You harshly tug your helmet on and head to Sylus’ safe house on your 270HM.
If he says no, then you can just scout the area on the way back home. That way, the ride there wouldn’t have been for nothing.
“Oh! There you are, little miss hunter.”
You turn around at the voice of one of the twins. “Luke, Kieran?”
“Mephisto told us you’d be here.” Kieran says pointing to the sky where Mephisto circles above the three of you.
“Is Sylus-”
Luke responds before you can finish your question, “The boss has a important business deal, but,”
“You’re more than welcome to stay with us in the meantime.” Kieran finishes the sentence as he opens the gate.
You can almost see the grin behind his mask.
“How long will he be gone?” You ask as you walk with the twins into the house.
“It might not even be until tomorrow that you’ll see the boss.”
“If you’re lucky--” Luke starts
“--I’ve checked your luck index today, miss, you’re not.”
“Kieran!” You smack him on the shoulder
“Anyway,” Luke starts again, “As I was saying, if you’re lucky, he might be done by midnight.”
…
Well now, it’s way past midnight and the boys have convinced you to play card games as you wait. From old maid, to kitty cards, to Big 2.
Eventually, they pull out another deck of cards with haphazardly drawn crows. - “We’ve invented our own version!”
Your brows furrow.
“Crow Cards!” They say in unison.
You’re speechless. You shake your head with a chuckle, but oblige them regardless.
It isn’t long before Kieran has passed out on the couch and you can tell that Luke isn’t too far either.
“Luke, why don’t we get you and your brother to sleep?” You suggest.
“Yeah,” He yawns and give you a nod, “but Kieran can sleep here on the floor.” He snorts, but goes to haul him up anyways.
“I can use one of the spare rooms, right?” You ask
“Of course. The boss has even gotten spare clothes specifically for you in every house. They should just be in the closet of the en suite.” He points to one of the doors, “That one is your room.”
It didn’t take very long after your head hit the pillows that you drifted off into a shallow sleep
Just as the sunlight begins peaking through the horizon, Sylus enters into the safehouse
Mephisto is cawing at him incessantly.
“What has you so worked up?” He frowns.
“CAW!”
Sylus walks through to the main area and sees cards strewn across the floor.
He examines them, seeing the poorly drawn crows, and looks to Mephisto, “What?” Sylus raises an eyebrow at Mephisto, “You led me here because Luke and Kieran made you look like roadkill on these cards?”
Mephisto shakes his head and pecks the cards out of Sylus’ hand. He pitter-patters to the door of the en suite and lightly pecks at it
Sylus’ frown deepens but he follows after him.
And there you were - laying on your stomach atop the sheets.
He lets out a small chuckle, “Tsk tsk, kitten,” he shakes his head, “You’ll catch a cold at this rate.”
He gently turns you so he can lift you up into his arms.
With his Evol, he untucks the sheets and lays down with you in his arms.
You have your head on his chest and legs entangled with his own.
With all the movement, you lift your head blink your eyes open, “Hi.” You whisper.
“I didn’t expect to see you here, kitten.”
You plop your head back down onto his chest, “Yeah, I wanted-” you yawn, “I wanted to ask you something.”
“Oh? You’re asking me for a favour? How unusual.”
You only hum in response and close your eyes again.
For a moment, he thinks that seeing you in the sunrise makes the sunlight a little more bearable.
“What is it that you need, sweetie?” he asks, brushing his lips against the top of your head.
“The location of my mission is near this house.”
“And?” he shoots you a smug smile, “What is it exactly that you’re asking, Dove?”
You narrow your eyes at him, “I’m asking if I can stay here for a little while.”
He chuckles and gently swipes at the space between your brows, “Do you know what you look like right now?” he asks, “A kitten with a temper.”
You untangle yourself from his grasp, “Screw you.”
It quite futile since you end up in his arms once more.
“What mission is so important that the hunter’s association would send you into the N109 zone?” He asks.
“One,” You put your pointer finger up, “It's near the N109 zone. And two,” You lift another finger, “Apparently, there’s some shady trading of high-grade protocores.”
“Hah, when is there not?” He chuckles.
You quickly brush his question aside, “But you’ll let me stay, won’t you?” You pout for good measure.
“I never trade for a loss, dove.” He taps a finger on his temple. “What are you planning to give me in exchange?”
“Um…” You contemplate on the question. “I'll trade any protocores I find that I think may be of use to you?” Your intonation makes it sound more like a question than a statement.
“What makes you think that I don’t already have access to such protocores, sweetheart?” He shifts to lay on his side with his head propped up by his arm.
That’s true. What could you possibly offer to a man who already has everything in the palm of his hand?
You glance up at him, “Well, then… truthfully, there’s nothing I can give you.”
I guess he won’t let me stay after all.
One of the corners of his lips tilt upwards into a smirk, “There is…” he pauses as he procures a piece of paper with his Evol, “Something you can give me.”
You take the paper and frown as you read the contents, “Isn’t this that restaurant by the river? The one with the orchids?”
“Mmm.” He hums in agreement.
“What could I possibly give you there, Sylus?” You ask
He chuckles, “Well, it’s quite simple, really.” He leans forward to whisper in your ear, “I want you to stay with me… Until the moon is high above our heads”
His voice is so close to your ears that you have to turn away
“I want your time.”
A few days have gone by since your…encounter with Sylus.
Now you’re face-to-face with the owner of the club.
He has his hand grabbing the lower half of your face, turning it side to side.
You grit your teeth. Keep it together for the mission, MC. You say to yourself.
“She’ll fetch a hefty price from the clients, that’s for sure.” He chuckles
He almost throws you towards a woman who has a comb and spray bottle in hand.
“Another?” She asks
“Get her ready.” He says as he begins to walk towards the bar where the guests are, “I want her ready for service by the end of the week, Stella.”
The woman, Stella, as you’ve learned, rolls her eyes and grabs you by the arm.
She drags you across to one of the clothing racks and pulls various clothes up to your body. She takes some off, and others she returns.
Your eyes wander as you stay still, and for a brief moment, you see a blonde woman in a red dress, strutting towards the exit.
“Tenebra?” You mumble
“What?” Stella raises her brow.
“Huh? Oh, I was asking If I’ll need to wear a bra.” You gulp hoping she’ll believe your cover-up
She stares at you for a moment but then continues to find you a dress.
After a while, she’s finished with your make up and has given you a run-down of the rules.
“For tonight, you’ll be staying with me.” She says as she walks towards the exit
You scramble after her. You barely catch yourself from bumping into her as she abruptly turns around to address you.
“Keep close and don’t wander. Do you understand?”
You nod, “Yes.”
She wraps a red band across your wrist with ease, “This bracelet means that you’re off limits for the mean time.” She grips your wrist and squeezes, “So I suggest you keep it on your wrist even if your life depends on it. You won’t have this luxury for long.”
What have I gotten myself into?
You spend that night observing each and every one of the hostesses and clients.
Memorising faces, names, voices. Anything.
As the week ends, you’re back at the safe house trying to piece all the information you have so far.
You’re hunched over the coffee table with papers scattered about. Some of which you’ve scrunched up and have unintentionally made into Mephisto’s playthings.
You huff.
Everything looks normal, but clearly that’s not the case if HA has sent you here. They wouldn’t have sent you here if there wasn’t some concrete evidence of a covert operation.
Sylus stops cleaning his gun and smiles as you frown. The bastard.
You huff once more and rub your temples.
“You look as if you’re going into a grand battle.” He chuckles and leans back into the sofa.
“I feel like I’ve gotten nowhere!” You throw your hands into the air.
He carefully returns the gun to it’s case and settles himself on the floor next to you, “Talk to me.” He pulls the pen from your hands and spreads the papers across the table, “We can figure it out together.” He glances at you with the smallest of smiles.
A couple of weeks have gone by and you’ve gotten better at acting as a hostess.
You find that a lot of these clients have a very loose lips - ever so willing to give information with so little incentive
Today, you’re cozied up with a client, your legs in their lap, and an arm wrapped around one of theirs.
You grin internally as he continues to talk about all the protocores he could offer you.
“Oh?” You say sultrily, drawing circles on his arm.
YUCK
“Oh, I do, baby.”
EUUUGHHH
You’re trying your best to suppress a scowl.
“I could give you all -”
You glance up at him as he stops mid-sentence.
Your gaze shifts from his face to the mirror behind him where your eyes meet Sylus’s intense gaze.
What is he going here?
Sylus nonchalantly walks over to the two of you and the room has gone still.
“And who might this be, sweetie?” He glowers at the man, but his question is directed to you.
You open your mouth to reply, but the man beat you to it, “Mr Sylus, I’m-”
"I didn’t ask you.” He says sharply.
“Sylus, what are you doing here?” Your grip around the man loosens and you quickly shift your legs to plant your heels on the floor.
“Well… Sweetie.” He emphasises the endearment as he pulls you from the other man’s lap, “I’m here for you,” He pulls you to his chest
Without another word, he tugs you into one of the private rooms.
With the momentum, you fall to the loveseat in the middle of the room.
“Sylus!”
“When you said you had a mission here, I assumed you were going in as a client.” He locks the door and makes his way to you, “Not a hostess.” He narrows his eyes as he traps you between his outstretched arms on the loveseat.
“Why does it matter?” You glare back at him, “I’m still getting the information I need.”
“You realise that I could get you all that information in the blink of an eye, right?”
You know that. You do. He never lets you forget. Head of Onychinus. King of the N109 zone.
But what does that say about you?
Always relying on someone else to do things.
Always relying on Xavier on missions. Even Rafayel helped you at The Nest. Zayne’s always taking care of your health, and now Sylus, too.
When had you ever truly done anything yourself?
You grit your teeth, “Look.” You say as you muster up all your courage to glare at him, “I appreciate the help, but I’m not some dove that needs saving.” You push at his chest, “I can do this on my own.”
He yields as you push him until both of you are standing.
“I can’t just rely on you for everything,” You say.
Tenebra - the word plants itself at the forefront of your mind
His chest heaves as he looks at you, but he doesn’t speak.
“What am I supposed to say to the association?” You walk towards the door but look back at him with a soft smile, “They’ll label me a Tenebra for even breathing the same air as you, remember? We can’t have that now, can we?”
He takes a hold of your wrist. “You know I’d never let that happen.”
“Mmm.” You shake your head, “I know, but even then… I want to be able to proudly say that I was able to do a mission with my own strength.”
He doesn’t say anything, so you shrug your hand away from his hold.
“So,” You place you hand on the door knob, “Let me do this on my own, Sylus.”
As you leave, he deflates onto the loveseat with a sigh.
As much as it stings that you don’t want to rely on him, he understands what you’re trying to say.
You’ve gone many days without seeing Sylus, not even at the safe house.
At the host club, you return to your dressing room with the brightest smile, you’d think your face would split in half.
That drunk client spilled all the beans. They are smuggling protocores through this host club. He mentioned a warehouse south from here, in the no hunt zone. Luckily Jenna authorised your entry into that zone. You’ll have to check it out after you leave the club.
As you exit, your watch beeps, “Huh? Wanderers? This far from the no hunt zone?”
Your hands settle at the hilts of your hands guns strapped to either thigh.
With vigilant eyes, you scan your surroundings. Trees upon trees in every direction.
Taking soft and steady steps, you head deeper into the no hunt zone.
Eventually you see lights scattered throughout the tree line.
There’s a large building stood in the centre of the clearing.
As you walk closer, you hear voices. “The warehouse.” you whisper.
Then a truck whizzes past and you duck for fear of getting caught.
It drives far into the warehouse and you follow around to get a clearer view.
They seem like specs from this distance, but they’re unloading the protocores from the truck.
The impatient part of you screams to just sneak into the warehouse.
But that fire is quickly extinguished when you notice a few men patrolling the warehouse.
“I need to come back another time. With a plan.”
The next few days you observe the schedules and their protocol for receiving deliveries
You manage to sneak your way into one of the trucks as your shift ends at the host club.
In the truck, you’re shallowly breathing from the adrenaline coursing through your veins. You close your eyes to take a deep breath as the truck slows to a stop.
“This is the last one for today, boys. Let’s do this quick!” You hear a man shout.
Your hand comes up to press at your sternum. Your heart is beating right out of your chest so much so that blood is thumping in your ears.
“You think we’ve got some aether cores to sell today?”
“Tch, I wish.”
As their footsteps grow louder, you take a slow breath-
BEEP BEEP!
You gasp as your hunter’s watch detects wanderers nearby. You grasp at your wrist to dampen the noise. Hunching over, cradling your arm as it beeps again.
STOP! Please!
“What was that?”
What do I do? I’m going to get caught.
“Check it out.”
Think. Think.
From their footsteps, you can tell one of the men has walked into the truck.
THINK!
You don’t have a choice.
With a grunt, you charge at the man, shooting him in the chest, before hauling his body to cover yours as you exit the vehicle.
“INTRUDER!” the other man yells. “INTRUDER! LOCK EVERYTHING DOWN.”
Sirens blare as shots are fired in your direction. One lodges itself into your thigh. With a scream you dump the body shield and limp as best as you can out of the crossfire.
Another shot whizzes past the side of your arm. Another into your lower abdomen as you turn to shoot at them.
Before you make it to the forest, a loud roar shakes the ground and you stumble onto all fours.
A wanderer. A Hoarfrost Wyrmlord, you recognise.
It stomps it’s way towards the warehouse, likely drawn in by all the noise.
You scramble away as best as you can, but behind you are the men from the warehouse.
Your breaths have become rapid and shallow, “Where…”
The Wyrmlord locks onto you, blowing out gusts of air from it’s nostrils.
You begin shooting at the Wyrmlord but it looks unphased.
You duck for cover as it shoot icicles your way.
Protocores. You think. “You must have a shield somewhere.” you say as you peak over the metal pillar.
“You!” A foreign voice takes your attention.
The man has his gun pointed to you.
Swiftly, you kick your leg out in an attempt to disarm him, but he catches it and kicks at your other leg so that you land face first into the dirt.
For a few moments, you wrestle him until he’s got you in a choke hold.
You elbow him in his side and as his grip loosens you try to swing him over your shoulder.
But he uses the momentum to kick off of the pillar, and the action flings you backwards, and your back hits the ground with a thud.
You grunt and struggle to stand.
Before you can shoot him, a Harte Knave slashes through him.
Just as quickly, your bullets pierce though the Harte Knave and it disintegrates in dust.
Another roar shakes the ground as you and many others are pulled into a protofield.
“No!” You scream.
“Sylus!” You yell into the air.
Hoping, praying that he just might appear out of thin air.
...
“CAW!”
Meanwhile, Sylus is seated in another safehouse.
His leg is bouncing up and down.
You should have returned to the safe house hours ago, but there has been no notification of your arrival from the security system.
For every centimetre the moon rose into the sky, so did his worry.
“I appreciate the help, but I’m not some dove that needs saving.”
Your words echoed around in his mind for the past few hours.
“I can do this on my own.”
He knows that. You’re strong. He’s seen it.
“They’ll label me a Tenebra for even breathing the same air as you, remember?“
Tch.
“I can’t just rely on you for everything,”
But something was wrong.
His intuition never failed him.
“CAW! CAW!”
“Mephisto.” Sylus quickly stands and stretches his hand out for Mephisto to land on.
A holographic video pops up and Sylus sees you dropping the lifeless body and limping away into the tree line.
The screen flickers for a moment as you scream his name before you disappear into the protofield.
Even before the video ends, Sylus is rushing out to his motorcycle. He pulls up the coordinates from Mephisto’s previous location history and speeds away.
Why did I leave her by herself? Near the N109 zone nonetheless. I’m a fool.
In the protofield, the Wyrmlord is the last wanderer.
There are only a few other humans left and luckily, the Wyrmlord is beginning to stagger too.
You’ve managed to break it’s shields but you’re heavily wounded and the Wyrmlord has caused the temperature to drop so rapidly that it’s difficult to even pull the trigger.
Sylus… Please…
You know he can’t just appear into a protofield. But somehow his name on your lips gives you enough strength to continue the fight.
Out of desperation, you’ve managed to resonate with some of the Evolvers.
And with great effort, you and another Evolver deal the final blow to the Wyrmlord and you’re transported back to the warehouse.
Sirens are still blaring and the edges of your vision are fading.
“Sylus.” You whisper walking away from the warehouse.
You grunt as you slump against a sturdy tree.
The shards of ice that were lodged into your stomach have vanished along with the protofield and now your blood has begun to soak through your clothing.
With a few harsh tugs, you rip your sleeve off and press it against your wounds.
Everything hurts, but you try to slow your breathing.
Your watch beeps once more.
The adrenaline causes you to perk up at the thought of more wanderers.
WARNING! Critically low blood pressure - severe blood loss. Coordinates have been sent to the nearest Hunter’s Association field lab.
When you wake next, the room is too bright for your eyes to adjust.
You blink and raise a hand to your face to block the light.
Glancing around, you notice it’s like any other bedroom.
You groan as you sit up.
Looking down at yourself, you see the faint outline of multiple gauze pads from underneath your top.
You limp out of the room, using the wall to take most of your weight.
You flinch as you feel a tap on your shoulder, hands immediately going to where your guns would have been.
“Relax, Kitten.” Sylus says, with both his hands up in the air, “I’m just trying to help you.” He begins to lower his hands.
“Sylus…” You croak from the dryness of your throat.
You could do nothing but stare. Was this real?
You were hyperventilating a little, and he’s never really seen you so high-strung.
“You’re safe.” He says as he slowly cups the side of your face.
“Sylus… I…”
He lowers his forehead to yours and you visibly relax.
“You’re safe with me, sweetheart.” He repeats the phrase as he gathers you into his chest.
“I won’t let you go ever again.” He whispers. “Never again.”
I told you it was long XD. I had fun though. If you guys like it, I don't mind fully fleshing this out into chapters. I really enjoyed writing this one actually.

Werewolf!Logan Howlett
Hey so... werewolf!Logan Howlett but he's like a really stupid dog when there's a full moon. Just like that tumblr post said.
Brooding, angry, too cool and edgy Wolverine vs Actual giant idiot puppy during the full moon.
There's this huge man (when he turns it goes to nearly 7'!!!) rippling with muscles, with an even thicker amount of body hair if that's even possible, with yellow eyes, sharper and longer fangs, and claws that could tear through steel (Not even counting on his deadly adamantium claws) who gets really excited when he sees you and tackles you to the ground to pepper you with kisses, compeltely oblivious to the fact that he weighs over 500 pounds.
Werewolf!Logan who spent a good amount of time growling at his own reflection.
Werewolf!Logan who gets spooked by loud noises and hides under the furniture, toppling it over because he's too big. He got spooked once by his own sneeze.
Werewolf!Logan who plays fetch with literally anything and refuses to give it back. You can even trick him pretending to throw something and he will literally run towards the invisible object, barreling against anything that crosses his path.
Werewolf!Logan who actually barks if he sees a dog on tv and goes behind it in hopes to find said dog.
Werewolf!Logan who chased a squirrel and crashed against a tree, making it fall down.
Werewolf!Logan who is afraid of going downstairs, yet he still climbs them and expects you to carry him down.
Werewolf!Logan who whines at you through the window, wanting you to let him out, despite the OPENED DOOR being literally ten inches to his right.
Werewolf!Logan who will eat and chew his way through anything. So many 'What are you eating? Open your mouth!' moments with him.
Yeah, Logan doesn't want you to be with him when he's like that, not because he's dangerous. He just really dumb. He gets very embarrassed after that, and absolutely hates if you take pics and videos.

surprised nobody wrote anything about cowboy rempe at the stampede. he looked 🙃. would love a written concept on bumping into him there and maybe he spills a drink on you but you end up getting dragged away and he catches up to you later on in the night and you end up dancing and maybe he even wins u a goofy prize playing ring toss or a corny game.🤠
step right up
1.7k words
pairing: matt rempe x female reader
genre: fluff
warnings: none
note: i didn’t not proofread so i apologize for any mistakes 🫶🏼
Spinning around the dance floor, you grabbed a hold of your cowboy hat, holding it tight to your head as you swayed along to the familiar line dancing song. Trying your best to pick up the steps from your friend as she was the expert of the group, always prepared to break out any line dance she can at the drop of a hat.
Throwing your head back laughing you opted for doing your own thing, moving to the music as you sipped your drink. You had forgotten just how fun the Stampede could be; drinks, live music, fair food and games. It was the highlight of the summer.
“Oh shit-”
As you’d done one too many spins you found yourself crashing into a taller boy, towering over you as his chest was smacking you in the face. Your drink spilling all over your shorts, thank god they were black denim and it wasn’t too noticeable.
“I am so sorry, oh my gosh. Are you okay?”
You smiled up at him, laughing as you wiped your hand on your shorts, drying it as best you could though it would do nothing for the stickiness that would remain.
“I’m okay, honest. I’m the clutz not paying attention to where I’m spinning. Are you okay?”
Looking up at him you’d not noticed before how handsome he was. His black denim jacket just tight enough to show off his build, paired with a black t-shirt and blue jeans then topped off with a cream colored cowboy hat. He had a mustache that you’d found fitting on him, though you normally weren’t a fan. Perhaps it just looked good with his choice of outfit for the night.
“Me? Yeah, I’m great, no complaints. Um, sorry about your drink, and your clothes.”
You shrugged it off, little did he know you’d not paid for the drink so you didn’t mind. As the boy went to offer you a replacement your friends were pulling you off into the crowd as a familiar song began playing.
Waving him goodbye he softly smiled, mentally punching himself for not being quicker to speak and get your name. As he watched your figure fade into the crowd he sighed, hoping that somehow he’d cross your path again.
“Matt, dude, you good?”
Ty appeared at the boy's side, offering him a beer as he tried to pinpoint what his friend was looking at. Not seeing anything but a sea of people he gave up, now standing in front of Matt to try and get his attention.
“Sorry, um, yeah. I’m good.”
Matt made a point to keep his eye on you, hoping he’d have another chance to make up for his clumsiness. To get your name and drink order, perhaps even your number. But as he saw you and your friends heading for the door, he knew that window of opportunity was closing.
“Ty, let’s head out, yeah?”
Ty didn’t bother questioning Matt, assuming he’d grown tired of the bar they were at and wanted to make the rounds. Matt’s strides were swift as he maneuvered through the crowd of fairgoers, Ty having to rush to keep up. Unsure as to why Matt was in such a hurry, with it only being eight o’clock and the fairgrounds open until at least one in the morning.
Suddenly Matt came to a halt, Ty finally catching up to him as he followed Matt’s eyes. Seeing you and your friends crowded around a carnival game that surely was rigged. The objective? Knock down the milk bottles without them falling off the pedestal, practically impossible.
“Ohhh, I see. You’ve got your eyes on a girl huh?”
Matt smiled, slightly embarrassed as he tried to shrug off his friend’s comment. Watching you point out a stuffed animal elephant holding a peanut that you so desperately wanted. The only way to win that prize was to be absolutely perfect in the game, but with several drinks in your system, Matt could tell by your first throw you weren’t leaving a winner.
“I spilled my drink on her Ty, I wanted to try and repay her, but she left the bar before I could.”
“Soooo you’re stalking her now to buy her a ‘sorry I’m a tall lanky clutz’ drink?”
Matt shot Ty a glare at his comments, leaning against a nearby building as he continued watching your failed attempts at winning your desired prize.
“Not stalking Ty, simply a man after something he wants. And I hate to say, I want her number. She’s beautiful.”
Ty flicked the brim of Matt’s cowboy hat, rolling his eyes as he found a spot against the wall to reluctantly join him. “Okay lover boy, so what’s your master plan to get her number? Star at her from afar all night and hope she notices your eyes burning a hole in the back of her head?”
You’d handed another ten dollars to the worker, getting another three chances at the prize you’d been listing over. A smile on Matt’s face as he watched your friends giving you a pep talk, laughing at how hard you were working for this prize. Though he admired your persistence for the plush that surely wasn’t worth the money.
“Well, that’s thirty bucks down the drain. I need another drink!”
Matt watched as you and your friends made your way across the path to a new bar, finding a place at the counter to order a round of drinks. Once the game had been available and reset, he walked up to the counter to take his chances. Ty rolled his eyes with a groan as he joined Matt at the booth, praying that he’d somehow get lucky and win so that the boys could get back to drinking.
“I do not come to the Stampede for carnival games dude, and you’re twenty-two years old by the way. Trying to win an stuffed animal elephant for a girl…who if I had to guess-”
Ty glanced back at you and your friends tossing back shots at the bar, turning back to Matt as he studied the baseballs to find the perfect one to throw.
“She’s definitely at least twenty-one, maybe if we are lucky she is older and can get you to act your age for once.”
“Newsflash Ty, she was just playing this same exact game so shut your goddamn mouth for five minutes so I can concentrate.”
Matt took a deep breath, stretching his arm a bit as if he was getting ready to pitch the final game of the World Series. Ty just shaking his head, praying that no one passing by was catching a glimpse at how embarrassing this scenario was becoming.
“Fuck!”
Matt’s first throw not even close to the tower of milk bottles, a soft chuckle coming from Ty as he tried not to add to his friend’s frustration. Simply giving him some halfhearted words of encouragement as Matt picked up his next baseball.
As you finished your second drink at the bar, you glanced out at the crowd passing by, a tall figure catching your eye at the booth of the game you’d just thrown thirty dollars at. Only for you to realize it was the culprit who had spilled your drink at the previous bar, mainly since he was the tallest man at Stampede and was too hot not to notice.
You watched as he handed over another bill to the worker as he was handed three more baseballs, his friend clearly fed up with having to watch the taller boy failing continuously at the game. Chuckling to yourself you’d ordered another round of drinks for your friends, keeping an eye on the two boys wondering how long they’d keep at it before calling it quits.
The next ten or so attempts continued similarly to the first, only getting slightly better as Matt had managed to knock over a maximum of two of the three milk bottles, though they’d not stayed on the table as was the point of the game. Ty had grown restless as he watched Matt reach in his pocket for another ten dollar bill, patting him on the shoulder as he decided to head over to the bar you were occupying and grab a drink.
“Hey! Is he having any luck over there?”
You smiled at Ty as he shook his head, throwing a shot back before he leaned against the bar to see Matt still trying his darndest to win you a prize.
“Well he’s doing it all for you, you know? He’s dropped like almost fifty bucks all to make up for your ten dollar drink he spilled on you back at the other bar.”
Your eyes went wide as you looked at Matt, seeing him hang his head as he’d thrown away another ten dollars in failed attempts. Needing to put a stop to things before he dropped a hundred dollars trying to win you a no more than fifteen dollar stuffed animal that you did not need in the slightest.
“Hey, cowboy.”
Matt turned to see you now next to him, a smile on his face as you were the last person he expected to see at his side.
“What the hell are you doing over here?”
“Isn’t it obvious, trying my luck at becoming an MLB pitcher.”
You laughed at his sarcasm, seeing a ten dollar bill in between his fingers and quickly reaching for it. Tucking it in the breast pocket of his jean jacket, leaving him with a confused look on his face.
“While I appreciate you embarrassing yourself at this carnival game that is surely rigged just to repay me for a drink…did you ever think of just buying me a drink?”
Matt scratched his head as he’d realized that would’ve been the logical thing to do, despite Ty telling him several times it had only gotten through to him coming from you.
“I mean, that would’ve been the more obvious route to take. But, I wanted to stand out I guess? Be different than just another guy offering you a drink?”
Nodding your head you smiled up at him, his smirk causing you to blush but luckily your cowboy hat hid your cheeks from him.
“And how did that go? Wanting to be different and all?”
“Wanting to be different ran me about fifty bucks.”
He awakedly rubbed his hands together, watching as you reached towards his pocket pulling the ten dollar bill from it and flashing it at him between two fingers.
“Well, lucky for you the drink I like will only cost you less than ten.”

Nightmares // CL16 & MV1
Pairing: Charles Leclerc / Original Female Character / Max Verstappen
Summary: Everyone deals with their own battle, but they are always easier faced together.
Warnings: Abusive parenting, homophobia, abandonment issues, sexism, grief and childhood trauma.
Author’s Note: This is about companionship, we all deal with our own pain and we all have a past that still haunts us. This is about facing those battles hand in hand with the people you love. I wrote this some time ago, listening to 'Return the favor' and 'Therapy', both by All Time Low, and 'The only exception' by Paramore. I highly recommend listen to those tracks. I hope you like the story. Rate: +16 (descriptions of violence)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The cold wind from outside filtered through a small dent on Max's bedroom window and the contact it made with his uncovered skin made him shiver. He thought about all the other punishments he had endured before over his 16 years of life and he assured himself that it could have gotten worse. Spending the winter night on his bedroom floor, in underwear, was way better than when he had to spend a week sleeping in the back yard because he came in second on an important race. It was also better than when his father left him alone in that gas station, the fear so intense that he ended up crying on the bathroom floor, hiding from the strangers around. At least he was in his home, in his room and he had his stuffed lion to keep him company. He gripped it tightly, feeling a little stupid for keeping such a childish object when he was that old, but it was the only thing that brought him a little comfort. He thought about his mother, who gave him the lion, and wondered what his life would be like if he had stayed with his mom and sister instead of his father. Would he be happier? Would he be as good at racing as he was? Would his mother have accepted him for who he was? He had an answer for that one: Yes. His mother would have chosen to love him anyways, he was sure of that. He wished, with his whole heart, to close his eyes and wake up in a better place, where he was loved for who he was. So he closed his eyes and waited for his wish to come true.
Max woke up in a cold sweat, he could still feel his fingers and toes frozen, the floor against his bare legs. A decade had passed from that night, but he still had nightmares about it once in a while. His childhood always came back whenever he was stressed or with low batteries. It was like his brain tried to sabotage him, filling him with more pain than he already felt. He looked to his left and found Charles sound asleep, his arms under the pillow, bringing it closer to his face, a peaceful look adorning his features. He knew that Charles had his own battles, and that he dreamed of his own nightmares, but how he wished he had the kind of father Charles had. Hervé was a loving husband and parent and even though he left this Earth way too early, he left a wonderful mark on everyone who knew him. His children loved him, his wife Pascale loved him. What did his father do? He also left marks, his mom had an order of protection against him, his sister was terrified of him, and Max did everything he could to run away as far as possible so he didn't have to be near him. If he could, he would bring back Hervé and give up his father. With a sigh and feeling a little guilty for his thoughts, he finally got up. He had to look for his girl, who was definitely hiding somewhere instead of being in bed with them.
The sky was still pretty dark outside, the stars shining on Monaco's natural ceiling, the full moon big over the Mediterranean Sea. He found her sitting on the floor of the balcony, a cigarette between her lips and her eyes lost in the waves that crashed rhythmically on the beach. Charles hated when she smoked, so she did it outside, so the stick of the nicotine wouldn't stay on her clothes. Max didn't like it either, but he tolerated the habit because he knew that it helped her calm down, one day he would make her switch to something healthier. Some day. Before stepping out, he caught a glimpse of the beloved lion on one of the living room shelves, so he grabbed it and hugged it close, a familiar calmness running all over his body. If she heard him walk out, she didn't show, but she must definitely have noticed his presence when he sat down next to her. They were used to the silent conversations, they had had them their whole friendship. Secret gazes, millimetric gestures that only they could read, the changes on each other's skins when the other was around. They were used to the effect they had on each other, so he knew that she felt him there when the hairs of her arms stood up and her breathing changed, because even if she didn't say anything, her body did.
"Which one was it this time?". She asked, not even looking at him.
"The night I came out". He had said it so many times that his voice didn't break anymore.
"That one is tough". The comment was swallowed by the poof she gave to the cigarette, but he got it.
"It was. It always comes back whenever I'm happy with you, but angry at racing". And it made sense, after all the punishment wasn't only for coming out of the closet, it was also because Jos was sure that 'the queerness' of Max would make him a mediocre driver.
"You know that losing this championship wasn't your lack of concentration or skill. Charles is as great as us, and for the love of God, Ferrari finally did things right for once". He knew that, still, he lost and he always had a hard time losing. He lost in 2024 against her, he lost in 2025 against Charles, would he ever be able to win again? "You are a 3 times World Champion, Max. You don't owe anything to anyone, and I can assure you that you're not mediocre".
He pulled her close and took her cigarette away, she was about to complain when he pressed his lips against hers, kissing her deeply. He believed her, every word, and he was grateful that he had her to remind him of the amazing person he was and could be. They pulled apart when they heard movement inside, the curtains of the living room moving aside as Charles walked out to the balcony. Sleep was still written all over his face, but he woke up fully pretty quickly when he felt the dense atmosphere that wrapped them up. He walked over to them, a mixture of curiousness and worry in his eyes as he scanned them over. They pulled apart to make some room for him to sit in the middle, Charles noticed the lion and the cigarettes, understanding the situation. Resting his back against the building's wall, he pulled them to his chest and ran his hands up and down their arms, hoping for it to be enough. He saw Max's grip tighten around the old stuffed animal, the marks of his pyton's grip over the years clear on it. Charles pulled him a little bit closer and kissed his head.
"You're anything but ordinary".
She did all she could to get loose, but the grip on her arm was so tight it was impossible to break. She screamed and kicked as her mother dragged her to the room, she wished that her racing suit was ticker, so her arm wouldn't hurt that much. Her father was crying and pleading behind them, asking for his wife to finally let go, but it was pointless, when had she ever listened to anything he had to say? The mud of her shoes drew patterns on their living room floor as they neared her bedroom and she wondered if her mother was actually going to use the chancla on her. Her body made contact with the carpeted floor of her room and her mother grabbed her face to make her look at her. She screamed at her face, about how she was a disgrace, a 'marimacho', a 'zorra' playing with the boys instead of being a 'señorita', she went on and on about the shame she brought to the family. She reminded her that no daughter of hers would do something like racing, wear the clothes she wore and go around covered in mud and filth like she did. But the girl just muted the rest of the screams, she just let her say whatever she wanted, because she was not going to stop her from chasing her dream. She had just met the best boys in the world and she was going to race those boys for the rest of her life. No matter what. She felt the chancla hit her back, but it didn't hurt her anymore, no when she knew that it was the price to pay for sneaking out to race. Her mother would change her mind one day, but for that day to come, she had to take it today. No. Matter. What.
She woke up to the sound of the front door closing. Max and Charles were probably back from the supermarket. She sighed as he got up from the couch, the feeling of the chancla still lingering on her skin. It was the worst, the rubber hitting on the same place, over and over again, but it was more hurtful to her pride. The humiliation that came with the beating, the screams, the words, the hate on her mother's eyes. She remembered that beating like it was yesterday, because it was the one that changed everything. It was the first time that, when she was finally left alone in her room, she wasn't scared anymore. That week she met Pierre and he introduced her to Max and Charles the very same day that her mother gave her that beating. Meeting the boys and winning a race against them gave her the push she needed to hold on to her dream and never let go. Her motto was born that day: 'No matter what'. She took it to heart, and kept pushing and pushing, she took as many more beatings as she had, but she kept sneaking out, even if her mother dropped the chancla to grab the wooden spoon from the kitchen, even if the skin of her hands was red and burning from the hard wood against it. She kept pushing, and she became world champion. A hand on her back brought her back to reality and she relaxed against Charles' hand once his scent made her aware of his presence.
"Which one was it?". He asked softly as he ran his hand up and down her back.
"The day we met". She admitted, Max placed the bags on the floor and walked up to them.
"It's okay, Schat, you're safe now". She smiled softly at them.
"I know. It's just that her birthday is in a few days". Charles nodded, understanding.
"You know you don't have to go if you don't want to, Amour". It was her turn to nod.
"I also know that. But she changed a lot over the years. I know that we still have out problems and that she's not a fan of our relationship, but I can see that she's trying". Max was a lot less forgiving, but he was also aware that he wasn't the one with the best record of family choices, he still visited his father.
"I agree that she seems to be trying, Amour, and I admire you a lot for being able to see that and be so forgiving. I still want you to put yourself above everything. Take care of yourself, because you're not any of those things she said. You're wonderful, and we are beyond proud of who you are, okay?". Charles placed his hand against her cheek and she snuggled against it. "We are so very proud, Amour".
Charles rubbed his nose with hers, making her giggle a little, and bringing a smile to Max's lips. It always worked, because if there was something that she needed was softness. It was something that her dad did, treat her with gentleness, with love and with trust. He always believed in her, even if he was so afraid of his wife and had to take even more beatings and insults than her. She didn't blame him, but she was sure that she would never make the same mistakes her dad made. So she looked for gentle men, men with nice words and tender touches, nothing like her mother, nothing like who her dad settled for. And she found Charles and Max, the embodiment of kindness, enough for her heart to skip a beat and her shoulders to relax under their touch. It felt good, being able to be loved, laughing on a daily basis, relying on them when she needed and giving herself the chance of being an open book, unafraid and never judged. A lonely tear fell down her cheek and Max caught it before it made it to her jaw, wiping it away with a swift movement of his thumb. It made her look at him, his blue eyes looking back at her with the same adoration they have been for the past decade. Her heart made a few jumps inside her chest. Max pressed his forehead gently against hers, making her close her eyes with him, the feeling of Charles' hand agains the skin of her back, where the burning of the chancla was just a bitter memory in the back of her mind. Max's lips barely touch hers.
"You're a dream come true".
Charles ran, his lungs burning as the air coming inside was not enough to keep his body moving. The fog around the graveyard and the darkness of the night made his heart race faster, the feeling of it threatening to jump out of his ribcage. He called their names into the silence of the dead, but he couldn't hear anything. Does sound really exist if there's no one to hear it? He passed gravestone after gravestone, the names of his family and friends written in each one of them. He cried, the tears blurring his vision as he desperately looked for their names. He didn't want to be alone, in the dark, in the cold, with the dead. The place seemed to never end, filled with all the people he loved but weren't there anymore, the air felt tight around his body, sour inside his mouth, painful coming into his lungs. He kept searching. What would he do if he couldn't find them? How could he keep on living if they weren't by his side? He couldn't be alone, he didn't want to. He needed them, he needed his friends, his family. He kept searching, because it was the only thing he could do, and as the names kept appearing he felt like his heart just couldn't take it anymore. He fell to his knees, two stones right in front of him. Suddenly, he couldn't breathe anymore, the feeling of his lungs contracting for air but nothing going in. There they were, the names he hoped to never see graved in stone, right in front of his eyes. Charles clawed at the grass, removed the dirt, he felt the cold and humid soil under his fingertips as clear as he felt the daggers inside his chest. He just wanted to pass out, to turn to dust right there so he could join them wherever they were, because no life was worth living without them. But he had had this nightmare before, so he knew, he knew that he was never going to pass out, because this was his biggest fear: living the rest of his life mourning his own.
He woke up alone in the hotel room bed, a halo of cold sweat around him and he inhaled as hard as he could to keep his lungs full. He felt a rush of calm run down his spine when he felt the air come in. He searched for the dirt under his fingernails, only to find them as clean as they were when he went to sleep last night. Getting up, he gave up the longest sigh as he gathered everything he needed to jump in the shower. He needed it, he needed to get rid of the stench of the graveyard that still lingered on his nose, the humidity of the air clenched to his skin, but mostly, he needed to wash away the feeling of loneliness that haunted him still. As the water ran down his body, cleansing him like a religious ritual taking away his sins, he felt the same tug in his heart as he did a few years back. The guilt of that feeling settled inside his belly, like a parasite eating him inside out. He remembered the fear of closeness, how he refused to accept that he loved Max and Y/N because he was terrified of ever losing them, how he had found solace in keeping a comfortable distance, how he convinced himself that he was content with loneliness. He refused to love someone because he knew that the grief is as great as the love you feel. But they found their way into his heart and now he couldn't kick them out. He was destined to suffer, to live in pain. To be alone. He heard movement outside the bathroom as he stepped out of the shower. He opened the door to find his partners changing the bedding. They knew that he hated to be alone in the hotel rooms, he ended up getting sick and tired of sleeping alone over the weekend.
"Which one was it, Poopie?". Max asked, even though the messy sheets and the shower were a big hint. He just wanted to be sure.
"The graveyard". He sat on the bed, the smell of clean sheets comforting against the odor of the humid dirt that he could still remember.
"We're still here, Charlie". She reassured him, her hand on his tight applying a little pressure to ground him there.
"But you'll leave". He replayed softly. She pressed her hand more, a little proof to his heart that they were there.
"Everyone leaves, Poopie, but that doesn't mean you'll be alone". Max sat by his side and ran his finger through his hair, a gesture that brought some warmth to his chest.
"You can't know that". The risk was just so much, too great. "The more I love you the more it'll hurt".
"We know that, because we love just as much, Charles". Max pulled him into a side hug, his head resting against the Dutchman's collarbones. "Loving is a risk and we are all afraid of taking that risk. But, I have known since I met you, that there's just one person that everyone is willing to take the risk for, and that person is you. You're the greatest man I know. Loyal, just, kind, hardworking, you are the epitome of greatness. It's impossible for someone like you to ever be alone".
It wasn't just the words, but how they reverberated inside Max's chest, in sync with his heartbeat that made Charles believe him. It was the warm feeling of Y/N's hand still on his tight. They were there, they were worth it, the fear, the pain. He would rather spend his life mourning them if it gave him the chance to have them for as long as Death allowed him. He was still a work in progress, but he was on his way to believing, trusting, risking. He felt Y/N moving to sit on his lap, her hands carefully adjusting the towel around his hips so it wouldn't loose. She pulled him away from Max and placed his head against her chest, her own heartbeat now strongly pumping against his face. It gave him peace of mind. The feeling of them there, Max's hand still on his hair, her soft hands on his face. They made him feel loved, they made him feel like there was hope in life, no matter how hard the road was. And he finally felt like he may be that special person Max told him he was. Maybe he was one of those people that'll never be alone. Maybe, just maybe, he didn't need to be so scared. Y/N pulled him away and pressed her lips to his forehead, erasing the frown that tinted his features. Maybe, he was the reason why they were willing to take the risk of loving, even if their whole lives they had only met pain and hurt. Maybe the risk was as great for them as it was for him, so maybe he was the one they risked it all for, even if they said they would never. Maybe, he was comfortable with loneliness, except when it came to them. And he knew, the moment she mumbled against him, that he was...
"You're the only exception".

SWEET MELODY
☆ chapter eight — i don't care abt the homeless 🎂
You unlocked the key to your home after returning that night, presence in the air riddled with the absence of your brother.
The door creaked open, being greeted by the familiar scent of old books and a hint of maple in the air, meeting with the faint trace of the cinnamon scented candle you keep buying just because he did.
The silence was oppressing you, especially with how rough the reception was for you. You took slow steps through the corridor, your steps echoing slowly on the floorboards, creaking at every turn. Rancor poured into your eyes like a glass, the main room of the home left exactly how it was for years.
Every article of clothing on the floor, every knickknack and miscellaneous object wasn't moved. You hardly found the strength to go in there yourself, knowing that you wanted it to be a snapshot in time. The blanket you both snuggled into was laying there on the floor, in a halfhearted attempt beforehand to be folded neatly by your brother.
You sighed deeply after taking it in again, feeling your shoulders wrack in defeat, the tears pooling relentlessly. Enveloped in grief, you took a sharp breath in and shook your head, immediately heading towards your room to find the letter.
You panicked to find the letter again, going through every box and every single faded out picture that you could find. Nothing ever worked as well as it did with that letter, a flicker of warmth crashing on your body as anxiety made it's way to your lungs, forcing you to manually breathe.
"Where... where??" You murmured to yourself, almost in whimpers.
In haste, you pulled open drawers, scattered old postcards, flipped through dusty photo albums, taking in a lot of things that just made your heart ache more, but you couldn't stop looking for it. You needed that letter, the only thing you knew could momentarily connect to his thoughts.
Your breathing grew more labored once you trashed your entire floor with the past, each inhalation feeling like a struggle against you. Like there was 8 tons pressing down on your chest, the tears ruthlessly burning against the ducts of your eyes. "Where is it...?" You sobbed out, voice cracking with desperation.
You fell asleep that night, failing to soothe the raw edges of your pain. You were now left with both the painful night you've been through, and a lack of drive for your own profession. You couldn't say which one of those were benefitting you.
It was time for Mona to go herself, if your employees weren't going to bring it up.
She learned a long time ago that if anything was going to be done on her terms, she was going to have it do it herself. The bitter thought of your employees betraying you like this in terms of a business proposal is tragic to her.
She gazed whimsically at the cute setup that the bakery had been decorated with — fairy lights to wrap neatly around the hedge bush for the strays that were left on the floor after taking care of the surrounding foliage. Their soft glow accompanied with the first light of dawn.
Mona sat there in her car with newfound resolve, getting out after taking procedure to hide her face. She opened the doors to the bakery, the golden lights of the early morning sun streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long and wide shadows across every seating.
As she noticed two of the workers bustling behind the counter talking about something she had no knowledge about, one of them was arranging a tray of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. The other was decorating a cake.
One of them, with beaming golden eyes, looked up at Mona as he wiped his hands on his apron. "Can I help you?"
She immediately cleared her throat, offering a gentle smile as she candidly lowered the mask below her lips to hover forward. "If you could tell me where (Y/N) (L/N) is, that would be lovely."
At first, the two seemed ready to comply. Until the one with the lighter blue hair raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms to his chest skeptically. "What do you need them for?" He asked, his tone cautious.
Her smile didn't waver. "I have an oncoming appointment with them that hasn't yet been finalized. I figure I come here myself and make sure everything's taken care of. Oh," She looked in between the two, holding a hand out, "I'm sorry for not introducing myself. Mona."
Suddenly, the golden-eyed worker's eyes squinted as if he knew who she was. He was quiet, inspecting her with little intention on pressing her further. "Like from the girl group?"
After a confirming nod from her, he hummed and nodded himself slowly. "Get me an autograph from Xiangling, and I'll tell you government secrets too."
"Deal."
The other's eyes narrowed. "You're such a sellout, Gaming. They're... just prepping banana bread right now."
Gaming's expression softened up, and he nodded. It looked like there were almost hearts in his eyes, easily swayed by yet another temptress. "Sorry for the precaution, Miss Mona~ We'll get our boss right away."
As he left to go fetch you, the other smiled apologetically at Mona. "Sorry...we have to be careful now. Last time we went to go get them for a customer, they started throwing things in their face and shouting for a refund. I told that guy not to get the peanut brittle because of his peanut allergy."
"No worries." She nodded, a small chuckle coming from her lips. "I understand, you guys do great work it seems."
Moments later, you came out from the kitchen, curiosity striking you as you made eye contact with the soon to be client. "What's going on?" You asked softly, eyebrows furrowing. "Were the cupcakes too dense yesterday? I knew they were a little off, but I sold them anyway...I'm so sorry—"
"No!" Mona shot her hands up, "No, no. It's not that. I have some business to do with you. I wanted to come here to discuss it with you, since that's one of the only ways I can get ahold of you directly."
"Oh..." You perked up again, smiling. "Of course...follow me!"

THERE ARE not many things that can sway your interest ever since the "incident", but in spite of that, you pushed forward. you are now the owner of the biggest bakery chain in your city, consistently seeing couples and catering to them as such. you've been a big host at weddings, events for celebrities, and even a big support for your friends and family. you've even earned yourself a niche following as well by how sweet you are to everybody around you. but, even with your kindness, you don't have a particular spark that keeps you going anymore these days. that is until one of your employees starts suggesting you write love letters to customers who request your services. at first you thought it was a horrible idea that could easily turn into trouble, but that was until you were tasked with writing one to your own (very very famous) ex-boyfriend.

Free advertising Part 3
Parts 1 & 2
If one has spent a decent amount of time in an engineering lab, perhaps even been raised above (and in) such a lab, it would come as no surprise that the construction of potentially hazardous items can sometimes be accidental.
Danny’s teachers and classmates evidently do not share this sentiment when he attempts to leave their group to disarm the pipe-bomb in front of them during their field trip to the Gotham railroad museum.
Danny doesn’t get it.
“Once you accidentally make one, you figure out pretty fast how to unmake one,” Danny shrugs in reason, it’s not like it’s hard. Well, it’ll probably be a bit different because it’s not from spare pieces of a microwave but still!
“Microwaves don’t have spare pieces, Danny,” One of the chaperones says. Oh, she must have heard Danny’s mumble.
“Sure they do! Everything has spare pieces if you do it right!” Danny smiles, “Here, watch this!” Danny lunges for the bomb, dodging a reaching arm with practiced expertise.
Once he has his hands on it, he’s pulling his Fenton family goggles from his pocket and the mini toolkit his parents got -made- him for his 12th birthday. Complete with a laser cutter!
Danny uses the magnification of the goggles to get a closer look at the design, holding it up to his face. The timer seems to be a separate connection… hmm.
Danny turns his ear to it, shaking vigorously, but he pauses as shouts sound from behind him sitting criss-cross on the floor.
Except…when he turns around, nothing’s different except the group looking startled and pressing themselves farther against the wall.
“Nightingale!” Damian hisses from the herd, “What are you doing!?!”
Danny tilts his head in confusion, vision tinted slightly green through his goggles, “I’m..deconstructing it??” Danny looks down as he unscrews a few pieces, listening for the disconnection of the timer, “Thought that was obvious,” He grumbles.
Danny pulls his goggles to his forehead to get a better gauge of the wire colors before pulling two of them out. The timer display turns off.
The group seems to sag in relief as the red numbers go dead.
Danny barely notices, looking intently at the object as he turns it in his hands.
Hmmmm.
He flips his goggles back down and reaches blindly for his toolkit. Danny continues unscrewing, grabbing a different screwdriver and his mini weld set, before setting two metal grids to the side and holding it back up.
“See! Spare parts!” He says with a smile.
The green goggle tint prevents him from seeing his chaperone’s face drain of color.
It does not prevent him seeing Batman crash through the window three seconds later.

Leto Atreides x reader
summary: an attempted invasion of House Atreides has leto running through the halls to find you || warnings: set before dune, Paul is your son, fighting, spying, murder, injuries, blood trails, over-protective leto, yelling || word count: 1259 || masterlist
The whole planet seems to be in pandemonium as spies infiltrated Caladan and set their sights on the Atreides palace. Guards raised the call close to midnight and the hallways seemed to be filled with people since.
"What's going on?" You call after Leto who's donning his armour.
"Spies."
It's only one word but the gravity of the situation comes crashing down on you. Without another word, you jump out of bed and begin hurriedly begin changing into clothes easier to fight in, tucking blades and daggers into the folds of your clothing.
Leto frowns at your actions. "You're staying here."
"If there's a fight, I'm fighting."
"I don't want it to come to that. You're staying here."
"No." There was no changing your mind as the argument bounced between you. "I'll stay away from the frontline of fighting but I won't stay put."
Leto sighed, reaching for your hand. "Okay. Go to Paul?"
"Of course."
A minimal portion of tension slips from Leto as you pull him forward into an embrace. It's the small things you value between the pair of you. There are some things that you never need to say to him and vice versa. Stay safe, come back to me alive.
"I love you." That was something that would always be said. It was known, but it could never be overstated.
The pair of you shared a kiss before parting your separate ways down the corridor, weaving between guards and Atreides fighters. As you parted, you couldn't help the sinking feeling in your stomach that something was terribly wrong. In all your experience of conflicts and fights, this feeling had ever made itself known.
You're running before realisation sets in, drawing a blade to sit in your hand. There are four soldiers stationed outside Paul's room and they move aside as you approach. "Is all clear in this area?" You ask quietly to one.
"Yes Duchess. Your son has been confined to his chambers, all entrances are being watched."
"Thank you."
You slip through the doors, scanning the room for your son. "Paul?"
The reply comes instantaneously. "Ma?"
"I'm here."
"Where's Father?" Paul asks, glancing behind you to see if Leto followed you in. It was rare to see the two of you apart, even on the battlefield.
"He's gone to find the attackers."
Paul nods, turning away from you and moving to his window. The rain batters the glass, hiding outside from view. He looks stressed, like he's carrying a weight o his shoulders and bearing a secret.
"Is there something you wish to tell me?" You press gently, knowing Paul would tell you when he was ready.
Paul shook his head then nodded. "It's my dreams. They've become more real than dream-like."
"The past or the future."
"Both."
You're about to answer, reassure him that all would resolve itself and the world would be righted once again but a crash outside the door stops you. It's followed by shouts and cries of soldiers being slain and your grip tightens on your blade.
"Ma?" There's a tremor in Paul's voice that breaks your heart.
Your voice is a murmur as you answer. "I want you to hide. Don't come out until you hear me or your father, understood?"
Paul swallows the lump in his throat, taking the dagger you offer him as he turns and runs to another part of his chambers.
You take a shaky inhale to steady your breath as you ready yourself for the fight that is to come. You have to protect Paul, that's the only objective in your mind. Find the attackers and lead them away from Paul. The crashes in the hallway grow closer as you slip out of the door and join your remaining soldiers. The stench of blood hits you immediately as you notice soldiers lying dead, scattered in front of you as an group of attacker approach.
"Lead them away from here." You sign your instructions to the guard beside you and he nods in understanding.
He calls out orders as you head the pack, facing your attackers head on. The group of your fighters lead the attackers down the maze of corridors until you're far away from Paul. You catch a glimpse of the attackers: Harkonnens. Of course it was, they had been fighting the Atreides for centuries.
You turn to face them with no option but to fight. One visibly pales, glancing to his companions to see if they should run themselves. You're like a raging bull as you stride towards them, anger dripping off your skin and exuding from your bones. These Harkonnens dare to come to your house, on your planet and they have the nerve to run from a fight they started?
Your knife slices through the air, cutting through supple flesh and knocking Harkonnens to the floor. But they keep coming, fighting harder and fighting faster with every second that passes. A sense of dread replaces the anger you held, sinking deeper and deeper.
The guards behind support you but the intruders manage several hits and slashes past your shields. There's blood dripping from your wounds, leaving a trail behind you on the stone floor. The sight of it drives your panic higher as the bleeding wouldn't stop, no matter how hard you tried. It's dripping down you fingers, leaving your grip slick as you reach for your knife once more.
There's blood dripping from your wounds, leaving a trail behind you on the stone floor. The sight of it drives your panic higher as the bleeding wouldn't stop, no matter how hard you tried. It's dripping down you fingers, leaving your grip slick as you reach for your knife once more.
You can't stop now, there might still be Harkonnens within your walls. There was no telling if Leto was safe, if Paul was safe. You couldn't stop now. You're aware you might be leading the spies towards you, leaving a path directly to you in your blood. But it's a risk you're willing to take, a fight you'd bet on winning despite your injuries.
Time passes strangely in your shadowed mind. It's all a haze as you creep through the hallways of your home, pausing to listen for unfamiliar steps. The chaos of the invasion turns into coordinated noise of marching and shouted orders.
But it's Leto's voice that cuts through the commotion, calling your name with increasing panic. He draws closer, and you let yourself breathe for the first time in hours. You turn, just as Leto rounds the corridor and sees you standing. Your side is soaked in blood, clothes ruined with a blade still in your hand. The blood had led him here, running through the hallways followed by his men in search of you.
"Paul?" Leto commended how your first concern was always your son, not yourself.
"He's alright. The Harkonnens never got near him."
As the adrenaline wore off, the pain and fatigue of your injuries began to hit you with full force. "Thank goodness."
"Are you alright my love?"
You're leaning on him, putting more and more weight on him as your strength finally fails you. "I don't think so. But I'll be okay. It's not as bad as it looks."
"Okay." His voice is quiet as he takes in your state. "Let's get you to a medic then we'll talk, yeah?"
"Yeah."
He pressed his forehead to yours and says with a whisper, "I love you." It would always be said. It was known, but it could never be overstated.
