Also, Nurse Westlake is incredible. I've wanted him to have more screen time ever since Ransom said he was one of his best friends, and learning that Ransom considers the oldest, gayest, queen on the ship to be his bestie means everything to me

"Is it all over?" I asked the recovery room nurse. "You're fine," she answered. The woman was a mistress of understatement. I was groggy and disjointed, but I recognized this moment as the milestone of my life. My life began at Westlake Clinic on that day in 1962. Gone was my "birth defect." From this day forward I could react to life emotionally, pursue my own feminine dreams of success, and live as an equal partner with the man I loved. I had been reborn woman. I was free.
That I believed to be true.
My idealized existence was based on my skewed perception of a woman's status in America. I trusted that as a female I would be instantly creditable, acceptable, and understood. Automatically, doors would be opened for me, and society would rush forward to reward my femininity with an honored position in heterosexual society. Why not? I was complete. At long last, my excessively submissive nature would earn me respect. By being emotionally fragile, I would now be universally desired, and for being a nurturer, I would be cherished. Surgery was behind me, and so were my years of not belonging. I'd been granted a second chance at life- I could now make a life in the social mainstream.
That I also believed.
Presented with a clean slate, I immediately began to mar it. In those first moments of womanhood, all I wanted was Hank. I hadn't been complete for an hour, and already I was attaching my lifeline to a man. I had no notion of my folly, and the women in my world did not see my error. In the early 1960s, the majority of American women were still perpetuating the archaic myth that without a man, a woman was worthless. Few women had found their stronger voice- and so I was striving desperately to soften mine. I was eager to recline on a chaise and wait for that special man who would peel me a grape. It would be more than ten years before a feminist friend would inform me, "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle." I did not believe her.
Hank and my mother were always available during my recovery. Their comforting presence made me feel safe and secure. My pride in Hank hit a new high when, soon after my transition, he took a Westlake Clinic nurse to task for repeatedly expressing her moral objection to "that kind of surgery."
"Don't ever let me hear you say 'that kind of surgery' again," he seethed. "This procedure was not a matter of choice you know. To those of us who love Aleshia, this surgery was no more elective than an emergency appendectomy. Mozelle echoed his sentiments.
That my mother was staunchly on my side was a tremendous relief. I was aware she'd suffered misgivings concerning my gender transformation. Mother was afraid she'd never be able to refer to her son as "she."
"But, James," my mother wailed over and over as she and Daddy crossed the country to lend support for my surgery, "what if I slip ands call him- her Buddy?"
She didn't slip. Not once. From the moment she first spotted me, in my skirt and blouse, waiting at the station to greet them, my mother responded as though I'd always been her daughter.
Before my surgery, my total focus had been on my emotional turmoil and the impending surgical changes. After the transformation, I still had emotional and psychological work to do. Surgery did not make me a secure woman. It merely opened the door for me to become one."

Dr Andrew Trussler
Selecting a plastic surgeon could be a difficult and confusing process. Wading by copious quantities of information, listening to buddies and factoring in value can make a very individual resolution overwhelming.Dr. Trussler, a plastic surgeon located in Austin TX, emphasizes safety and explaining what works and what doesn’t. Most significantly, he's actual in the often not so real world of plastic surgery.
He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgical procedure with specialty coaching as a cosmetic surgeon. He has been featured in quite a few publications including the Consumer’s Research Council’s “Information to America’s Top Surgeons” and was lately included in Marquis’ “Who’s Who in the United States for 2012.” Dr. Trussler has additionally acquired a number of awards for his scientific contributions to the sphere of plastic surgery. As a plastic surgeon, he has lectured internationally on the topic of cosmetic surgery and has authored numerous manuscripts and book chapters.
Dr. Trussler received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from the College of Southern California. He graduated Cum Laude and was additionally a four-year member of the lads’s varsity swimming team, the place he was All-American. He obtained quite a few scholar athletic awards over the course of his collegiate career. Dr. Trussler went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the Keck Faculty of Drugs at the College of Southern California. He was a Dean’s Scholar and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After finishing his common surgical procedure residency at the University of Michigan, he obtained his cosmetic surgery training on the University of California, Los Angeles and then his one-12 months aesthetic surgery fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Heart at Dallas, where he later began his practice in 2007.
He was an Assistant Professor within the Department of Plastic Surgery from 2007 to 2012 the place he served as the director of each the beauty residency and fellowship applications, in addition to the co-director of the stomach wall reconstruction program. He now resides in Austin TX together with his spouse and 5 youngsters, and practices in the Westlake area.
With 15 million folks getting a plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery process carried out within the United States yearly alone, chances are you may be contemplating Trussler joining that statistic. Nevertheless, even in case you have reached some conclusion on the procedure or area you would like to work on, let’s take a second to think about some missed areas earlier than your first procedure.
Plastic and beauty surgical procedure have superior exponentially, both within the number of surgeries performed and in addition within the expertise and medical experience applied. Now, more than ever is the safest time to get cosmetic surgery and obtain your finest results. Though cosmetic surgery can perform miracles equivalent to combating against growing old, reversing the effects of injury, and even serving to you attain your aesthetic goals, cosmetic surgery isn't magic.
Although some procedures have nearly no downtime, other procedures definitely do. And should you endure a set of procedures, for example, what happens sometimes throughout a mommy makeover, you'll most definitely expertise disruptions to your routine as you heal. Not only must you factor in relaxation and recovery durations when taking a look at your calendar however you even have to think about the timing because it pertains to your life. If you’re still planning on growing your loved ones by means of being pregnant or are still nursing, it’s finest to wait till your physique faces some consistency to get the most out of plastic surgery.
Rhinoplasty is the surgical altering of the nose, usually for cosmetic purposes. Nonetheless, not all rhinoplasties are created equally. In truth, it’s estimated that as much as 20% of patients return to have their rhinoplasties redone or revised. That’s roughly 1 in 5 patients. With such a excessive rate of revision, it's possible you'll begin to marvel why this happens. Let’s take a look at some reasons why somebody would need a revision rhinoplasty. Many of the reasons somebody would get a revision rhinoplasty involve some mistake made by the surgeon or necessities by the patient. However, some individuals need revision rhinoplasty even when the process went perfectly. This is often because they merely aren’t proud of the results. They could really feel that the change was too drastic or perhaps too subtle.
A scooped profile is when your nose has a scooped appearance when taking a look at it from the side. This normally occurs when an excessive amount of cartilage or bone tissue is removed while attempting to make the nostril seem smaller. Some individuals’s noses naturally have a scooped profile, but their bone structure is often designed to help it. A scooped profile may be undesirable aesthetically and trigger structural issues inside the nose.
A pinched nostril mostly appears as a pinched nose tip. This could trigger the nostrils to turn out to be pinched as effectively and deform. The nostrils usually look like slits or very thin ovals with a pinched nose. That is often attributable to too much cartilage being faraway from the nose. This will cause respiration issues and often seems unnatural. A successful rhinoplasty, and any cosmetic procedure, depends on having the fitting surgeon. Dr. Andrew Trussler is a cosmetic surgeon who provides rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. Dr. Trussler believes in being actual with his sufferers and explaining what works and what doesn’t. If a sure rhinoplasty need would cause any deformity, then he will inform his patient and provide different options. Dr. Trussler will get it proper the first time and helps patients get it proper the second time with revision rhinoplasty.

Pictured above are two continents on the same world. I wrote a short story that took place on the continent of Melodrica at Siph’s Mythical Vet Hospital.
One of the questions I received on my story was ‘why didn’t Siph check the book from Vexaltanus before that time?’ Which is a very good question. It is because of the huge difference between the two countries. Melodrica has always been a relatively safe place to live and they have not seen any war times in a long while. Vexaltanus has been in a constant power struggle between the three large kingdoms that exist in it. Recently there has been a huge conflict that caused the collapse of two of the big three kingdoms and a change in another.
The people of Melodrica see the magic of Vexaltanus to be tainted and warped; however, Vexaltanus’ magic is quite developed and they have a lot more advanced technology because of the need to have an edge in the war.
Below is the Story:
Melodrica’s Miracle Vet
An azure glow filled the room with light as a middle-aged man with deep chestnut hair and chocolate-colored eyes extended his hands toward a metal rod that was uniquely shaped into a spiral-like horn. His forehead wrinkled as he squinted his eyes to focus. As the light flowed from his hands where it had pooled towards the spiral horn on the table, he said a silent prayer to himself in anticipation. The magic enveloped the horn overtaking its shape before slowly sputtering out of existence.
As the man watched this happen, his features fell into sadness as he slumped against the desk chair behind him. A short, very pudgy, lizard-like woman with soft eyes walks up to the side of him. She was wearing a white dress with a nurse's cap and an ID badge that read ‘Nadine Westlake, Nurse’.
“Doctor Delarden, how are the experiments coming along,” the kobold woman asked, sitting one of her small hands on the man's arm as he rested back in his chair.
The man, Siph, turned his head to look at the woman and rest his hand over hers. He let out a sigh and used his other hand to wipe a stray bead of sweat from his brow.
“I feel like I am just on the precipice of this, Nadine, I am so close,” He explained, “But there is only so much a man can do before he has exhausted his resources.”
Nadine frowned at him and moved her hand to give him a reassuring squeeze.
“You are the smartest man I know and one of the best magic casters in all of Melodrica. You will save Eres and replace her horn,” she assured.
“Well, Eres is special to my clinic. She was my first patient, I won’t lose her because of magic poachers,” Siph explains, his eyes fill with tears as the image of a strong, white-maned horse, with a swirled horn atop her head formed in his vision. Eres was a gorgeous unicorn and her power was exceptional, Siph knew he had to keep it that way. She was one of his first patients to visit his practice when it was newly opened. He had not let her down so far and he did not plan to start now.
Siph snapped back to reality and smiled at Nadine, his eyes still looking worn as he squeezed her hand back and stood from his chair, “It is time for me to go to the library and mull over the healing magic tomes for the next twenty years,” he said, an air to his words as he gave her a wider smile as he strode towards the door.
Nadine gave him a bow as he walked past, her scales glistening in the candlelight of the room. Siph returned the bow as he passed her and moved into the hallway. His footsteps clicked through the empty hall that led to his library.
Books lay in several stacks around a long wooden desk in the center of the room, the walls lined with lightly dusted books. Years of Melodrican history lined the walls in paper format along with a near complete anthology of healing magic up until this point in history. The candles had light dancing around the room as Siph settled himself down into the seat at the desk.
His eyes moved over the books that were stacked on the desk as he reached out and plucked one of them from the many. The title read ‘Advanced Healing Magicks of the Southern Isle of Vexaltanus’. This was the only book he hadn’t fully gone over several times because it was authored in the continent to the east of Melodrica known as Vexaltanus. Siph found himself enraptured in the text as his eyes flooded with the information from the page. Something within his heart swelled as he read about an experimental regenerative magic. It took the mana flow of the spell known as ‘critica sana’ and slightly changed its magical output of it to promote regenerative healing. Siph felt months of struggle melt off of his shoulders. He must have been exhausted during the first glance at this book or maybe the gods of Melodrica were showing him favor. He closed the book with a quick clap before he stood from the desk.
With a swift pace, he made strides back into his lab before magic thrummed at his fingertips once more. Recalling the knowledge from the pages of his spellbook, he focused on imbuing the magic into the iron horn as he recited the spell. Runes lit up the room around him and swirled with a powerful aura before attaching themselves to the horn in a bright crimson light that swirled into blue before a flash filled the room with daylight. As the bright light glimmered out, candlelight flickering throughout the room once more, Siph looked at the iron unicorn horn in awe. Sitting on the table, thrumming with a deep blue glow was the iron unicorn horn, imbued with the answer to Siph’s months of research. Tears welled in his eyes as he called for Nadine to send for Eres. They finally had a cure for her ailment. Months of stress and anguish melted off Siph’s body as the accomplishment rolled over his body in waves. It would be a simple surgical procedure that would allow Eres to heal and regain her strength. These miracle moments were the ones he lived for and he prayed with this discovery he would have many more.

"Not all my concerns, however, were earth shattering. For one thing, I was curious about the appearance of my vagina. I'd never seen one- and now I had my own. In fact, I had a brand-new one! I'd bought the darn thing sight unseen. I wanted to see exactly what it looked like.
The day after surgery, I asked for a hand mirror and tenderly positioned myself for my first peek at a vagina.
"Good God!" I shrieked, "what have they done to me? This looks like something you'd hang in your smokehouse... after a hog killing."
I'd never seen anything so gross. It was swollen, red, and wrinkled. The wrinkles looked at though they'd been left behind... deliberately. This thing needed to be ironed. Over eleven hours of surgery, pure agony as an aftermath, and I had to be left with a wrinkled vagina? Swelling was expected. I might even accepted that it would look a bit beat-up and trampled-on - but not like this! This was a disaster! This was no little pink rosebud! This was no delicate scalloped shell from the seashore. This was a red, wrinkled Venus fly-trap! I started to cry, which only made matters worse.
Mother rang for the nurse. "You're perfectly normal," they both assured me. "That's how you're supposed to look." Who did they think they were fooling? I was having none of it. "Like this?" I keened. I'd seen my share of nude female statutory. I hadn't been totally lacking in pubescent curiosity. I even had a fair idea of a vagina's function. This wrinkled thing wasn't going to make it on any countenance. I wanted a neat little split. Something that would translate well in Italian marble, or perhaps, alabaster. I wanted something aesthetically pleasing. This thing had folds! I was suddenly reminded of that unattractive rear view as I herded home the cows.
I was truly upset. "We'll show you," my mother volunteered.
My mother and Westlake Clinic's charge nurse both lifted their skirts, presenting me a view of not one but two naturally born vaginas. By golly, they did have folds. There were four outer labial folds on each vagina. Satisfied that I was normal, I drifted off to sleep."
