BOJUNYIXIAO’s Weibo Night 2024/2025 Part II 🔴🟡🟢

as mentioned, this will focus on cpns during the show. so we begin with everyone on their seats, well mostly, except yibo. lol. as expected, xz is in frame for the start of the show but yibo is nowhere to be found. alexa, play i’m not here by wyb. 😂😂😂 we see LX tho, he is where wyb is supposed to be. so the change of seats took place. some are even joking when xz looks at his phone, wait for a moment and maybe he will leave and wyb will arrive 🤣🤣🤣

there was also some conversation about an anon message that said they met backstage. some video evidence that they entered the same “lounge” — which i think is pretty much a given. they surely have met backstage. this is not even in a cpf capacity.

as with yibo, it’s not new for him to not come out and sit in the audience area for ceremonies. but this may be the first time i saw him completely skip it. i wish xz could too, but alas, he has some other responsibilities to this freakin awards show.

moving on, wyb’s second looks was fireeee! they are putting it side by side xz’s tod’s look that was posted by weibo night. so relaxed and casual.

i think the most important moment here is yibo’s very short speech where he wished everyone peace and happiness in the new year. the same message is a caption on his own weibo post and yibo-official’s. well, this is the same message as lrlg. and xz’s automatic message in weibo, it wishes the same thing.

what a coincidence.

oh well. i wish them the same things. also, bobo’s post was 22:08. some interpret them as him purposely missing 22:07 ( 227 ). like, dude, do you really think i would do that to him? nope. i’m not gonna a part of that attack on xz. wyb is really something else 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Good news: I think I've found suitable replacement names for Ayunnen, Kashi, and Kazai!

Ayunnen:

Aýnabat

Derived from Turkmen aý "moon" and nabat, a type of crystallized sugar candy.

I do realize that this essentially means naming him “moon candy” but y'know what, it's cute, I'm keeping it. The name is feminine, however I have allowed myself this anachronism bc the Marda clan people generally have a very loose relationship with gender. It's fine, I think.

Kazai:

Khazan

Meaning autumn or falling leaves, it's also a Persian festival that has to do with autumn, Khazan Jashn.

Many thanks to @innerchorus for bringing my attention to this! Information on this festival though was. Uh. Scarce. But I did manage to find a small article written entirely in Farsi about an “autumn festival” that was held in a certain neighborhood.

Kashi:

Sâyezân

From Kazakh сая (saya) meaning “shadow, shade, protection, comfort” and жан (zhan) meaning “soul” (both words of Persian origin).

This. THIS was the name that gave me so much fucking trouble. I liked the “saya” part (the Farsi pronunciation was smth more like saye according to the wiktionary audio, hence why I spelled it that way) HOWEVER I kinda. Didn't like the look of “zhan” (jân in Farsi) and I really liked the fact that Kashi and Kazai's names used to share a syllable and... I tried to look up what “zan” would've been in Farsi but turns out, it meant something like “woman, wife, female” and naming Kashi “girl-shadow” just didn't sit right with me 😭😭 Also the original name I found was Zhansaya which... I didn't quite like the vibes of, really............ I tried to look for alternatives to replace that zhan with, but didn't find anything, and so. I was wholly tempted to chop that part off and just have it be Sâye. In the end though, I ended up playing shuffle with the two parts of the name and let's just say the zân still means soul, it's just. Stylized differently. Yeahhhhh. Toooootally fine.

So. Yeah! The new names of my ArSen OCs! Edits to the fic will have to come after I'm done writing chapter 3 (but before uploading it) so look forward to that, I guess!

I have also made the decision to revert “Areyan” back into his canon name “Arslan” as this was a holdover from when I thought it'd be a fine idea to give Arslan another name to denote that this was an alternate, different version of him. Ehhhh he can go back to being Arslan.

Soda runs the match over the rough grooves at the bottom of his two front teeth and promptly snaps it in half. "Shit! We're gonna run out of matches."

"Nuh uh, look. You're doin' it wrong." Dallas flicks a match along his eye tooth 'n doesn't get anythin' even close to a spark. "Fuck, I swear I've seen people do this."

"Wait, lemme try again." Dallas grabs the three remain' from the coffee table 'n passes one to Soda. He wiggles the head around 'n drags it over his molars 'n a flame sputters to life.

"Sodapop Patrick Curtis 'n Dallas Tucker Winston." Soda drops the match 'n starts at the sound of Darry's voice. They both dive for it 'n Dallas catches it, flame goin' out against the inside of his palm. He hisses but doesn't have time to inspect it before Darry snatches them both off the couch, roughly turnin' Dally's hand over to check the damages. Findin' nothin' but a bloomin' red mark he drops his arm, whackin' them both in the head.

"What the hell were you two doin'?" Soda grins 'n tosses his hair out of his eyes. He props his elbow on Dallas' shoulder 'n Dally hunches down a bit more so Soda doesn't have to stretch to reach.

"Nothin'." Dallas shrugs 'n Soda slides right off. He kicks Dallas in the shin 'n Dallas elbows him in the side in return. They both giggle until Darry pins them to the wall with a glare.

"Didn't know nothin' looked like playin' with matches nowadays. Someone should have filled me in." Darry scoffs dryly, rolls his eyes. "How old are you two?"

Soda grins again before scrunchin' up his brow 'n scratchin' his head, feignin' confusion. "Glory, Dallas, I clean forgot. You remember?"

Dallas smirks, tiltin' his head, 'n touchin' his tongue to his silver canine in thought. "You know I think I do it's-"

"Y'all are too-" Darry starts.

"-Too damn old!" Soda 'n Dallas finish for him 'n Soda howls, grabbin' Dallas' shirt 'n dissolvin' into laughter. Dallas grabs his elbow so they both don't hit the carpet, cacklin'.

"Y'all are worse than Pony." He smacks them both up the head again 'n Soda wails in mock indignation, doin' an impressive version of Pony's whine.

"Dally, you see how this hood treats his poor brothers?" Soda pouts at him from under honey lashes 'n Darry jabs a finger at him. He grabs Dallas 'n manhandles him into the kitchen, checkin' the temperature of the tap water before he shoves Dally's hand under it.

"Truly, Soda man, I've seen wild animals gentler." Dallas calls over his shoulder, tryin' 'n failin' to pull his hand back.

"Well, ain't that a funny coincidence." Darry flips the tap off 'n checks the burn again, releasin' him when he's sure it's not serious. "I've seen kid brothers stupider."

"Aw, Darry, y'know you love us." Soda grabs Dallas, pinchin' him by the chin 'n poutin' again. "How could you stay mad at us?" Dallas knocks Soda's head away with the heel of his hand 'n jumps on him.

Darry rolls his eyes 'n steps over the two of them howlin' on the kitchen tile. "Quite easily."

"Darrrr!" Soda jabs Dallas 'n the ribs 'n wriggles out from under him.

"Fine." Darry lets out an almighty sigh 'n shakes his head, reachin' over 'n snatchin' the last two matches off the coffee table. "But y'all are done fuckin' around with matches until you can act like you got any damn brains in your skulls."

"Hey, that ain't fair," Dallas takes Soda's hand 'n hauls himself off the kitchen floor. "How the hell am I meant to smoke?"

Darry smiles for the first time that afternoon. "Maybe if you put your fool heads together you can get one spark a sense between the two of you."

"Well, a course!" 'N before anyone can stop him Soda grins with every tooth in his mouth, grabs Dallas by the back of the neck 'n cracks their heads together.

I've gotta say I'm not a huge fan of putting Dragonese into the HTTYD movie franchise. The concept of a full-on dragon language they all share, that can just easily be translated into English, just really doesn't fit imo

I imagine they're a lot more like Orcas

There are universal ways to communicate with strangers of different species, like it's pretty easy to signal things like "i want to fight you" "i want you to leave" "it's dangerous here" "i'm in pain" etc. by just body language and vocalizations- but ways to communicate more complex ideas have to be developed and learned as unique dialects by different groups, especially flocks of dragons consisting of different species.

I imagine a terrible terror flock or a group of Speed Stingers have a lot of an easier time communicating with each other than a Thunderdrum and a whispering death do.

Dragons with their own dialects, cultures, and habits depending on location and group is really cool- I just don't think it should be a direct translation of how humans do these things, such as straight up language or mythologies or such.

SOLAR FLARE LOVERS OMG Y’ALL I ACTUALLY GOT SOME EVEN MORE FASCINATING NEWS ON THEIR MODEL. So I found the sketchfab model for Solar Flare yea? I noticed the creator has a link to their twitter in their sketchfab bio and me, slightly nervous that they may not even be aware of their model being used on the show, decided to poke around to see what I could find.

Most importantly, they’ve reblogged fanart stemming from the show, so I think it’s safe to say they’re aware and okay!!
