biography.

felix james catton is born three minutes before venetia catton, starting off the relationship as her protector strong. they'll live their lives mostly together in the beginning, until they're each sent to different boarding schools during the year. it's a good thing for them: it means there's much to catch up on over breaks lounging at the pool or giggling in the maze.

saltburn becomes their base; the sanctuary that they didn't know they needed after being sent out into the wilderness. for felix, the wilderness still feels good, and being home can be downright boring. for vee. . . well felix isn't sure why her decision becomes to stay home when it is, but it makes felix surely grateful that farleigh started at boarding school and he has another out in the world to celebrate all it has to offer. not that farleigh seems to manage to stay in one place long enough to gain multiple stories: just enough to get him kicked to the curb.

it's because of this that felix learns at oxford how important it is to find a friend. in the midst of attracting a friend group, he always seems to need that one person who he can rely on no matter what. first year's mate was a boy by the name of william. william was kind, considerate, and all things you might think you need in a mate. . . and then they got to saltburn for the summer. silly felix should have learned his lesson when william couldn't make it through two weeks there before running off back home to the boondocks, never to be seen at oxford again.

the next year was edward. now. . . edward had a real chance. he was less kind ( for the best ) and more rough around the edges. he'd also never seen the likes of saltburn, but none really had, had they? see edward's problem was. . . vee caught his eye. so soon. so quick. and edward wanted to spend all of his time with the gem that she is, it left very little time for late night talks with felix.

he lasted a little longer, but as usual both twins eventually were ready to toss him out. together.

and then? along came ollie.

the story is as old as time. boy sees boy. boy obsesses over boy. boy gives boy a flat tire on his bike so that boy can talk to boy. felix never saw any of it coming. it's not in felix's way to look for the thoughts behind someone's actions, so how could he ever assume such malintent?

but ollie does the worst thing anyone could do. he lies. and lying? is simply unforgivable. attempted murder is . . . also pretty unforgivable.

a few notes:

the way in which felix lives is very verse dependent, but generally boy got some good spite in him. they can't prove what oliver did because he gets rid of the evidence. most of the time felix will eventually get a restraining order for ollie and just try to move on.

in my verses with @bloodrancold, ollie does NOT lie about his parents. one verse he just never says anything about them, and felix tries to fill in the gaps incorrectly. in the other ollie is completely telling the truth and the tables turn on felix to try to make amends for humiliating ollie. jo and i have talked about this EXTENSIVELY and for that jo's ollie is the only ollie i feel comfortable writing with right now. jo gets that i can't wrap my head around the canon we were presented AND cattonquick happening in the same universe lol.

my DEFAULT verse will be felix post oxford living in london in a shared flat with vee and farleigh. he lives with his trauma and is trying to figure out how to come out to his parents / has just come out and is learning how to live life as an openly gay man. he still has all of the problems one would expect of a white rich man in the queer scene!!!! just because we love him and he's a doll doesn't mean he isn't going to fuck up tremendously. it can't always be on farleigh to tell him that his white boy is showing: one day he's going to have to either realize he's being the worst and change or not. he's not there yet!

Hey, I love your work, esp your Dramione stuff! I noticed the tags on some of your posts and I was wondering: are you planning on turning Sweet Sacrifice into original fiction? I would be interested in seeing more genre romance in the mainstream

Aw, thank you! I've had the intent of adapting Sweet Sacrifice away from Harry Potter lore and into its own original work for a while now. (I talk about it some on my writing blog here and here.)

I sort of started on this already by working on an AU comic loosely based on Sweet Sacrifice since last year. It covers some of the same ground but the plot has been reduced down to mainly just being about Caius and Isolde (formerly Draco and Hermione) because if I cover anything else from the actual fic plot this comic would be like a hundred pages long. I'm working on chapter 2 of the comic right now and it's at 13 pages currently and about to get very NSFW, but I don't know if I plan to make a chapter 3 to the comic because it's really intensive work, but we'll see. This is mostly for fun but it's also helped me consider how the story might go now that I've stripped the HP elements from it and am trying my hand at world building and developing these characters further into something of my own and not relying on someone else's lore.

(I'll post more of chapter 1 of the comic but I don't think I'll post it here. So far what I've shared of it has been mainly on WordPress and DeviantArt but the full pdf is up on my Patreon.)

As for writing, I would really love to give Sweet Sacrifice a do over and make it a proper horror novel starting at a point before D + H/Caius and Isolde meet. I really want to flesh out the doomed village better and really delve into life before/during the werewolf's haunting before we get into the whole mated life thing.

I like the idea of doing it on my own and just compiling it into an ebook and "publishing" it on my own site. If I did it any other way I'd probably have to change specific/significant aspects of it to keep it from getting flagged or rejected or something, considering the themes running throughout the fic. I don't want to buckle on it remaining horror/dark romance (and the romance is questionable, at that). I don't see my type of work ever hitting mainstream (and I don't think I'd want it to either, to be honest). I don't like the idea of having to really water down the things I write to appeal to a larger audience when I already have you and many others as an audience (who already know what you're in for)!

I'm sort of taking a break from writing it right now because I've been feeling burnt out at how long the chapters have gotten and I still need to figure out the rest of the plot but the intent is absolutely there so I'll get to it soon, I hope.

TLDR: Yes, absolutely this is something I want/plan to do! I've got this story shredded between my teeth and I'll rearrange these letters to tell it in as many ways as I can, and make it my own.

Fischl and Benny who were already on their way to u guys to hang out again start booking it thru the woods, dodging hilichurl camps (thatve since settled down and been v peaceful to the wolves + anyone in the woods of Wolvendom after u started living there)

(and u even have some hilichurls and mitachurl that wander close to Andrius’ edge of the woods to shyly beg for scraps,, u give them a portion)

ok but the amount of begging u get for desserts like-

No, Razor u cannot have chocolate cake/cupcakes after every meal, u need to take care of ur teeth

(u use ur collection of mora-monster-donations for comms for more ingredients and living supplies like fabric + furniture, u cant afford dental on top of that for ur boy)

Fischl dutifully declares you the “best chef in the kingdom” and writes down all ur recipes (u have them auto-stored in ur settings obv but it cant hurt to have a physical copy, and they look so happy doing it, u don't have the heart to tell them its not necessary-)

Benny insists on both giving u extra ingredients when he takes ur commissions, and giving u handmade trinkets or weapons for the meals!!

No!! He will not take “im good” for an answer!! ur sharing ur home-cave with him, taking care of his best friend Razor, and now feeding him food better than Liuli Pavilion!!! There’s no way he can just take all that and give nothing back!!!!

and theyre not the only ones getting some food tbh

when the knights begin patroling near Wolvendom and slowly all of Mondstadt to search for their “All God”, u break up the beginnings of a fight between 2 confused knights and the now peaceful hilichurl camp at the edge of Wolvendom

U offer some snacks u were going to give Benny’s Adventure Team when they got back (u made little triangle sandwiches, rice balls, etc. finger foods, and u made plenty extra bc u kno their teenage appetites lol)

the knights and hilichurls nearly cried with appreciation, which made for a hilarious sight when the teens actually showed up lmao

ur wearing ur cloak, bc u dont wanna take on that whole “creator of worlds” title just yet, and the kids helped verify u werent anyone suspicious (Benny + Fischl keep ur godly secret, theyre the best like that 🥰)

the knights just swing by for snacks occasionally (they also either pay u in trade or with mora, theyre not bullies)

another person who gets flavored food privileges is the lazy librarian witch herself

u also sometimes pick Razor up from Lisa’s tutoring and bring “the best tea and tea snacks in the world” along with to share with Lisa and him

(she is also fully aware after awhile of meeting u of what u are, and fully believes this is why the food must be enchanted to be so good, but u dont want to be treated super reverently she can tell, so she keeps ur secret too and is just extra flirty when u come by lol)

(Razor refuses to let his pare- Lupical move out of ur cozy cave to the library, so he sometimes hauls u away when Lisa flirts too much LMAO)

It was the other way around. BECAUSE Lou was available and Arielle wasn't, Tim decided to revisit the idea he had had during s4.

So no... He didn't make the effort. Lou just was available and Tim didn't want to introduce a new character to explore Buck's sexuality and therefore Tommy

Ryan himself confirmed during my previously mentioned podcast interview that he didn't know to which one of them that storyline was gonna go so yes it was a "possibility" but it went to Buck because Tim (and maybe Ryan) didn't believe that it was a storyline that fit Eddie so Tim went to Oliver instead. Oliver also confirmed that he was approached with the Tommy idea in the early days of preparing either eps 2 or 3 so it was something that was decided as they were filming so Tommy definitely wasn't the original plan

It was ALSO confirmed yes that the main reason Tommy was chosen to be Buck's first male love interest is because Tim didn't want to introduce a new character which doesn't go into bt favor since Tommy's place could literally be filled by any other man

So yes Tim chose him but trust me when I say he's no Endgame. Especially after all the trouble bt have been causing. Tim called it an entry relationship and yes Tommy is important to Buck because he's his first boyfriend. But there are no wedding bells in the horizon...

ALSO LET ME ADD! Thanks to the lovely @/fiooredimaggioo on Twitter that Buck was supposed to have a big storyline involving Natalia and their break up that was gonna go throughout s7 but because Natalia's actress wasn't available this was scrapped

And as we've been able to see in canon... there is nothing tender and positive about their relationship because Tommy doesn't actually listen to Buck or understand him. So yes... bucktommy is canon now but with the way he's been excluded from every promo/bts/content since they started filming (even though we all know he's coming back) well that doesn't sound good, does it???
