Okay, but like
As someone who personally disliked the fandom characterization of Mangey as a child who is basically a wild animal
Which of course meant that (even though this standard was not applied to other equally feral boscage maze characters) if you even dared to have ships involving Mangey it was considered "beastiality"
Season 3 was so vindicating for me. Like as someone who always characterized him as selectively mute/largely nonverbal and with less palatable autism, it was so great to see the proof in the pudding that he is just as capable of being more than just the group dog thought like any other mobian and the hilarity of him being surprisingly adept with technology. Like god those few Sails/Mangey interactions were so so good

I've been thinking about something that happened a few years ago to me that's funny and just Tails and Sonic in a similar situation.
So bit of a personal story time first. I have an older sister and we look and act nothing alike. (Like it's to the point people assume I'm related to my brother-in-law first before my own sister) Well at her wedding I was helping to get her ready and the photographer was taking pics with her assistant. Now we knew both the photographer and the assistant girl, photographer from church and the assistant from highschool/dance classes, so both of them had known both me and my sister for years. So I'm in the wedding party and already ready and the assistant girl comes up to me and was like "Omg how are you! I didn't know you even knew the bride how do you two know each other?" And like she is a super nice person and I had to look her dead in the eye and go "oh she's my sister..." Ya'll the 5 sec reboot I caused this girl to go through is still funny to me to this day and the look of confusion and panic when what I said sunk in. Cause like what is she supposed to say after that when why the fact me and my sister have the same last name finally clicked.
Anyways now I'm just thinking of a scenario when someone is talking to Tails and it's something for Sonic (like a party or something). And someone comes up to Tails, maybe someone who knew Sonic a long time ago and just doesn't keep up with the news and has never meet or heard of Tails somehow. (Or maybe it's just a rando and they're trying to be mean to Tails and have that self important attitude of 'why are you even here?' to Tails) But they come up to Tails and are like "oh hey how do you know Sonic??" and Tails just looks them dead in the eye and just goes "oh he's my older brother." And just cue the panic and surprise and they try to put two and two together but they're blue screening over what Tails just said.
Idk we were looking at the wedding photo's while organizing and this popped into my head lol.

I suddenly remember That you never told us how a meeting between Prime/Archie! Sonic and Fleetway (Amnesiac/Good) Super Sonic would go.
Also I want to read Fleetway Sonic and scourge reactions if They somehow end Up dating (I like Fleetonic and I need something to draw lol)
I imagine any meeting between Prime and Super would likely come after Prime has already had the misfortune of meeting Sonic, and subsequently had at least one (1) argument about Super. If the argument hasn't already happened by the time Prime and Super meet, it's definitely imminent. I imagine Prime would be a lot more forgiving of Super than Sonic is (partly because he just doesn't have the same baggage Sonic does and partly because he's just overall less of a dick) so he'd be sympathetic to his plight. He'd be much quicker to believe Super when he says he doesn't want to be that evil person who hurts and kills people for fun. Sonic would scoff and call him a trusting idiot, but it's not that Prime is oblivious to or ignoring the danger that Super can cause, he just doesn't believe dogpiling the guy about it will actually help his situation
Sonic's reaction to finding out they're dating would just be more "I think you're fucking stupid" or, depending on how not-awful his relationship with Super is, just a quiet scoff. He probably tells Prime that if he's soooo fond of Super, then he can take Super with him back to his dimension, but he's probably also secretly worried about Prime actually following through, because if anything goes wrong, Sonic isn't there to help stop it. Chaos energy in the fleetway dimension is fucky and corrupted; for all his bitching and "don't come crying to me if he tries to kill all your friends", Sonic doesn't actually want another universe to suffer from that corrupted energy. He definitely doesn't want the chaos energy in the prime zone to become corrupted the same way his was, either
I can't imagine Scourge has much emotional attachment to Super to care too much. Like, he sees a part of himself in Super, specifically in how both of their identities used to be tied to Sonic, but he doesn't like that he can relate to Super. He doesn't hate or dislike him, but he definitely doesn't like him, either. He just often ends up being the one Ebony calls for out of everyone else in the freedom fighters because he's the one with the least amount of history with Super, so Super doesn't put him on edge the same way he does everyone else. So if Super started dating Prime, he'd probably just make some snarky comment about weak-hearted goody-two-shoes flocking together
Ultimately, the two of them together will probably mock the relationship. They probably only find out because one of them comes home and immediately starts bitching about how "did you HEAR Super and Prime are dating now???" and then they spend an hour talking shit about them. After all, even if Sonic has warmed up to Super a little, he probably still doesn't trust him or is comfortable being around him, and Scourge is a stubborn fucker who won't change his mind about disliking Prime out of sheer spite, so neither Prime nor Super have much of Sonic and Scourge's respect

"Had Maria’s wish ever mattered to you? Or have you already fulfilled it that day you became one with the stars?"
-
Very messy and very experimental. I've never written anything this short and unpolished in my life. ❤️
The cold, dry, air of the fortress blasts against your face, almost as if it was burning, until the air becomes still. It’s stale against the tip of your nose and you think that sensation should’ve pulled a familiar chord in your heart as it once would have.
It’s a feeling akin to nostalgia that strikes you, one that you shut down immediately, but for those fleeting moments they reek of a spacecraft so desolate it could be mistaken for a moon; one that the girl in your dreams might have charted, believing it to be a star during your nights side by side, warmth and gentle lavender-vanilla radiating off of her.
But you’ve never been able to reciprocate heat the way humans do, because you were merely a leech – you’ve never been a warm body yourself.
Factory lights flicker overhead, the click of machine guns reloading in the distance, and the desperation of human beings hangs thickly in the air.
It's such a familiar scene.
But…
The loneliness has already rotted you to your core, and those feelings don’t mean anything to you anymore. All that matters is seeing it through to the end.
After all, this is pure.
This is vengeance in its entirety.
Green catches your eye before you notice that it was a soldier’s gaze – murky fear and hostility blend together until they cannot be pulled apart. It’s almost an amusing sight, but the word pathetic comes easier. That look is so painfully human, and you once thought you knew what it meant to be human; but you'd thought wrong, because with each passing second the idea of humanity for an ultimate weapon slips away, pooling at your feet in the form of bullet shells and smoke that clings to your vision.
It’s too much trouble to get rid of him, so instead you rip your gaze away from the man first when it starts to burn; because it’s too much to take, because there’s no time to waste, and maybe because you’re almost reminded of the time someone had once tried to teach you to love humans despite their flaws. But a weapon shouldn't be capable of that to begin with. It’s a hindrance and a flaw in what is meant to be flawless; a bug in your programming – the only thing left for you to do is patch it. Destroy it.
A voice suddenly reaches your ear amidst all the chaos of battle, realizing that someone is yelling at you, scalding, desperate as you feel the wind from their wings.
(You think you know who she is, but you tune it out anyways.)
It's too late for second chances, too late for half-baked truths. Not when you're already so far gone beyond the point of return. You feel a laugh escaping over your dry tongue, wondering why Sonic and the others even bother trying anymore.
The bitterness coils in your gut like a venomous snake, wrapping around like a ribbon and squeezing until you’re a breath away from a pained groan. It’s not real, you remind yourself, deliriously half-laughing under your breath, until the serpent strikes, and you find yourself tripping on your own two left feet.
But there's no time to hesitate. Not when you're so close. Not when you're at the final frontier of humanity – a pathetic excuse for a shelter meant to give an inkling of hope to the last soldiers.
All it'll take is one shot to end it all. It has to be swift, though you're unsure if it should be painless. For whatever reason, bile nearly rises to your mouth with a choked hiccup at the thought of making those worthless humans suffer any longer than they already have.
As soon as that thought crosses your mind however, a heavy sigh leaves your lips as you skip to a stop in front of the last gun turret.
Yet another defect found in your system. What a pain.
(It can't be afforded.)
You have no goal but to be perfect, after all. Perfect carnage. Perfect destruction. Perfect revenge. That’s what you were made for, and you have a debt to repay with your life.
‘A life for a life’, as Black Doom had once said – but you still have yet to ask him what exactly he means.
It’s unknown whether everything will go out with a bang or a whimper; should everything bleed into nothingness until everything is still and stale, like the air on the ARK, and it still won’t matter.
Had Maria’s wish ever mattered to you? Or have you already fulfilled it that day you became one with the stars?
Was pretending to misremember her words and her feelings the easy way out? Or was it just the most sensible?
Sometimes your mind, or whatever is left of it, wanders - the little doubt you have left festers in the back in your brain like poison as you wonder if any of these thoughts are even your own, or if perhaps, Black Doom dug his claws into your spines at some point, like the puppet you were always meant to be.
But you are and always were a tool; regardless of whether these thoughts were your own or not, you are a means to an end. A means to humanity's end.

So I said I'd be drawing pokemon for a while, Sonic had other plans and cursed me with a new hyperfixation at the end of 2022, though damn what a good year to give the series a chance.
So now I'm working on a cyberpunk dystopia inspired Sonic au I'm calling Cyberverse and in my most recent sick haze I drew this au's version of Silver. Took about 6 hours total using Ibis Paint.

for anon who talked about carlos gnawing hoodies
“And he was red,” Oscar continued, almost red in the face himself with all the effort he was making. “He had speckled paws. Did you know that virtually all Australian cattle dogs have a white marking of some sort on their forehead?”
Carlos was starting to take pity on Oscar. “I do not know that, no.”
It was a concession, a peace offering. Carlos could count on one hand the number of times he’d admitted to anyone, I do not know. Oscar only looked more panicked, which was not the intended reaction.
“He would nip, as cattle dogs tend to do, you know? Whenever I got close, he’d nip at my heels like he was trying to herd me. It never hurt because he had excellent bite inhibition, he never broke skin. He was gentle. But he got into so much trouble, because strangers always thought he was going for them.” Oscar stopped rambling abruptly, and stared at some spot on the ground. “They nearly had him put down, once.”
Carlos fingered the collar of Oscar’s hoodie, very slightly damp from where he just had it in between his teeth. The orange could never be averse to him, not like the red, now. And it always smelled so unobtrusive, because Oscar did not believe in Febreeze. It was warm, warmer than the ones he owned.
There was no point in trying to hide in Oscar’s clothes, and he fought the useless itch to hedgehog his way back into the couch. This was a lot of words for Oscar. Carlos turned them over and over in his head until a comparison crystallized, with edges sharp enough to cut him clean.
“It’s a bad habit, I know,” Carlos said, confident he did not sound too wounded.
“No,” Oscar said with such vehemence that Carlos nearly flinched. “That’s not what I meant, no.”
They met each other’s eyes, and that seemed to spur Oscar into action. He launched himself up, clambered over the innocent throw pillow situated equidistant between them. As clumsy as Carlos had ever seen him. Or as Oscar had ever allowed Carlos to see him. Carlos felt like he was floundering two steps behind as Oscar grabbed his shoulders with an urgency he didn’t understand.
“I don’t know why I said all that,” Oscar said, shaking Carlos a little. “Ignore it, ignore it please. I was being stupid.”
“Okay,” Carlos said. His hands found Oscar’s wrists, soothing even though he did not yet know what for.
“No, not okay,” Oscar said. “That was mean.”
“I know you weren’t trying to be,” Carlos said. It was a fair deduction, with how distressed Oscar was looking. “And anyway,” he shrugged. “It is a bad habit.”
“I like you doing that,” Oscar said, stubborn. On a good day he could give Carlos a run for his money. “Better my clothes than your skin.”
Ah. Carlos’s chest contracted weakly. “Another bad habit,” he said quietly.
Oscar squeezed his shoulders tighter. “Almost as bad as drying clothes in an oven.”
“There is nothing as bad as that,” Carlos said. “You are comparing a habit with a crime, Oscar.”
Oscar huffed, meeting Carlos’s shaky smile with his own. Practicing unfurling in Oscar’s presence was getting easier by the day. Soon it’d be no effort at all.
“I like you in my clothes,” Oscar mumbled. So he was practicing too. “I like you wearing them and I like you warm in them and I like you—”
“Biting them?” Carlos suggested.
“Shut up. I don’t know why. My brain to mouth filter doesn’t work with you.”
“So you decided to compare me to a dog,” Carlos said. It made sense in some way. Oscar’s thought-processes could get as convoluted as Carlos’s. “That had to be put down.”
Oscar glanced at him, almost fearful, before he realized Carlos could barely hide his teasing grin.
“Stop,” thwack, Oscar thumped at Carlos’s chest, “making,” thwack, “me,” thwack, “feel,” thwack, “bad.”
Carlous couldn’t stop the cackle escaping him, earning him another thwack.
“And he didn’t get put down, okay? He’s doing fine.”
“Is he,” Carlos asked of the wayward dog.
Oscar stilled, and then, very deliberately, lowered himself fully into Carlos’s lap. The heat from Oscar’s hoodie and the heat from Oscar’s body, flush against his, and the heat from looking up at Oscar from this angle, was making it very hard to concentrate. There were only so many allegories he could conjure up before he started thinking himself in dizzying circles.
Oscar trailed the knuckle of his index finger down Carlos’s cheek, slowly enough that Carlos could measure the space between one heartbeat and the next. A nudge against his lips, and Carlos parted his mouth obediently. Oscar inserted his finger like it belonged there, key into a lock. The first knuckle, then the second, past the yielding gate of Carlos’s bared teeth.
Nothing touched. Carlos’s throat fluttered in anticipation, made some embarrassing, pleading noise. Encouragement, direction, anything. Please, please. Oscar waited him out, patient.
For Carlos to close his teeth, secure them around Oscar’s knuckle. Press down, intent clearer than any imprint he could ever leave. The pressure there but not too much. He held Oscar’s finger between his teeth, knowing full well he could hurt, knowing full well he could never. He held it there for as long as Oscar wanted, until he lost track of the time.
“Easy,” Oscar said, stroking Carlos’s burning cheek, and Carlos let go on command.
Around Oscar’s knuckle weaved a red mark that sat perfectly like a ring. Oscar stared at it as if he were trying to commit the indent to memory. Carlos’s breath eased from a rattle to a hum, his brain thankfully wiped clean of metaphors.
“Think he is,” Oscar said, flexing his fingers experimentally. His other hand still on Carlos's cheek, an anchor. “Yeah.”

sonic x reader attempting a suicide? i’m having a terrible time and would just like some love from my comfort character. its okay if this makes you uncomfortable.
caught in the wind
Tumblr media
WARNING: Suicidal thoughts, mental health struggles, suicide attempt
PAIRING: Sonic The Hedgehog x Suicidal! Reader
NOTE: I hope this was helpful for you. I sincerely hope everything is okay and I want you all to know that I care for all of you and that I am always here to talk. Take care of yourself. I know how it feels so I didn’t try sugarcoating it and made it as realistic as I could.
SUMMARY: While out on a run, Sonic spots something unsettling—one of his closest friends standing at the edge of a cliff, contemplating a jump.
Tumblr media
The wind rushed past Sonic’s ears as he dashed through Green Hill, the familiar blur of trees, loops, and waterfalls passing in his peripheral. It was one of those days where everything felt a little lighter—perfect weather, nothing chasing him, and no Eggman in sight. It was just him, the wind, and the thrill of the open road.
As he zipped along the cliffs that bordered the coastline, something odd caught his eye. At first, he dismissed it—just a figure standing at the edge of the rocks, back turned to the world. But something in the way they were standing—rigid, unmoving, staring down into the water below—made his heart skip a beat.
Wait. He knew that silhouette.
Sonic skidded to a halt, sending a puff of dust into the air. He rubbed his eyes with his gloved hands, making sure he wasn’t seeing things. But no, it really was you, Y/N, his friend. And you weren’t just looking out over the ocean for the view. No, something about your posture, the way your shoulders slumped, the way you didn’t seem to notice him approaching, sent alarm bells ringing in his head.
Sonic frowned, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He knew you’d been going through a rough patch lately, but…was it really that bad..? He prayed and hoped you were just admiring the view.
"Hey!" Sonic called, voice casual but firm. "Whatcha doing up there? Pretty cool view, huh?"
No answer.
His heart rate sped up, unease prickling at the back of his neck. Slowly, he started walking toward you, his steps uncharacteristically slow. Sonic never slowed down—he always kept moving, but something in the air made him tread carefully.
As he got closer, he could hear your soft breaths, shaky and uneven, like you were trying to hold something back.
"Hey, you okay?" Sonic asked, his voice softer now, more serious.
Still nothing.
That’s when you moved.
Without a word, you leaned forward—so fast, too fast—and before Sonic could even process what was happening, you jumped.
His instincts kicked in before his brain could. In a split second, Sonic launched himself off the cliff, wind roaring in his ears, reaching out with everything he had. Time seemed to slow down, and all he could hear was the rush of his own heartbeat, the thunder of the ocean beneath the two of you, and the desperate pounding in his chest.
Faster. He had to go faster.
Just as you were about to touchdown, Sonic’s arms reached out, wrapping around you in mid-air, his grip tight and unwavering. With a grunt of effort, he twisted his body, redirecting your fall, and landed hard on a ledge just below the cliff, skidding to a stop against the rough rock.
You trembled in his arms, silent sobs shaking your body. Sonic held you tightly, trying to steady his own racing heartbeat.
"Gotcha," he breathed, his voice barely audible over the sound of the crashing waves below. "I’ve gotcha…"
For a moment, neither of you spoke. Sonic just held you, feeling the way your chest heaved with each ragged breath, the way you curled in on yourself as if trying to disappear.
"What were you thinking..?" Sonic’s voice cracked, and he winced at how small it sounded. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. He was supposed to be the fast one, the one who always had a plan, always knew what to say. But right now, he felt as lost as you did.
You shook your head, tears streaking down your face. "I-I don’t know…I just…I couldn’t…"
Sonic felt a knot form in his throat, and he tightened his grip, making sure you knew he was there, that he wasn’t letting go.
"Look, I don’t know what’s going on in your head right now," Sonic said, his voice steadying. "But I do know one thing: I’m not letting you go. You’re not doing this alone, okay? I’m here. We’re all here. And we’re gonna figure this out."
You sobbed harder, your fists clutching the fabric of Sonic’s gloves as if he were the only thing tethering you to the world.
"You’re not alone," Sonic repeated, his voice soft but firm. "You’ve got me. You’ve got everyone who cares about you. I know things look bad right now, but trust me, we’ll make it through this. You’ll make it through this."
Slowly, your sobs began to quiet, though the weight of your pain still hung in the air like a storm cloud. But you hadn’t let go of Sonic. And he wasn’t about to let go of you.
Sonic sighed, glancing up at the cliff. He’d have to figure out how to climb back up, but that could wait.
For now, he was just grateful he’d been there in time.
A few days after the incident, the weight of it hasn’t left your chest. If anything, the guilt has only gotten worse. Every time you close your eyes, you feel that awful drop in your stomach again—the moment you jumped, the moment you gave up. And then Sonic’s arms, pulling you back, holding on like his life depended on it, when it was yours that was on the line.
You’re sitting in your room now, staring at the floor. The blankets are piled up on your bed, untouched, and the gifts Sonic’s been bringing lie scattered around—plushies, snacks, even some weird gadgets he thought might cheer you up. But none of it really matters. The shame sits heavy in your gut, a constant reminder that you nearly threw everything away. That you almost made Sonic witness something unforgivable.
You didn’t tell anyone. You couldn’t. And, surprisingly, Sonic hasn’t either. You had made him promise that day, and he didn’t even hesitate. “I won’t tell a soul,” he had said, his tone serious in a way that made you believe him instantly.
But the price for that silence is the weight of knowing what you did. And Sonic’s visits—while comforting—only seem to make you feel worse. He shows up almost every day, pretending like nothing’s wrong, acting like his usual upbeat self. He’ll burst into your room with a grin, tossing some random gift onto your bed like he’s just come back from one of his adventures.
“Hey! Got you something else!” he’d say, as if that could somehow fix the cracks in your soul.
You know he means well. He’s trying. But every time you see that bright smile, it’s like a reminder that you’re letting him down. That he’s doing everything he can to pull you out of this pit, and you’re still stuck at the bottom, too ashamed to climb up.
Today’s no different. The sun is barely past noon when you hear the familiar tap-tap-tap on your window. You don’t look up. You don’t need to. You already know it’s him.
“Mind if I come in?” he asks, his voice gentle but still carrying that hint of his usual energy.
You shake your head, even though you don’t feel ready. Sonic opens the window and slides in with ease, immediately noticing the mess of unopened gifts around your room.
“Man, I’ve really been overdoing it, huh?” He chuckles awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. “I just… thought maybe some of this stuff would make you smile.”
You want to tell him that it’s not the gifts, that it’s not him, that nothing he does could fix what’s broken inside you. But the words stick in your throat, and all you manage is a weak, “You didn’t have to…”
“Hey, it’s no big deal. I like doing it,” Sonic says quickly, sitting down on the edge of your bed. “I know it’s not easy, what you’re going through. But I’m not going anywhere. We’ll figure this out.”
We’ll figure this out. He always said that. Every time he came over.
You glance at him, biting your lip. The guilt tightens in your chest. You know he’s doing everything he can. He’s Sonic the Hedgehog, after all—the hero, the one who always saves the day. But this time, you’re not sure if you can be saved.
“I don’t deserve it,” you mumble, the words slipping out before you can stop them. “I… I don’t deserve any of this.”
Sonic’s smile falters, and he looks at you with a seriousness that makes your stomach twist.
“Don’t say that,” he says, his voice quieter now. “You’re worth it. No matter how bad things feel, or how much you think you’re not—you are. I don’t just show up because I feel sorry for you. I’m here because you’re important to me.”
The words hit you harder than you expect, and you have to look away, tears welling up in your eyes. You didn’t think it was possible to feel this much shame and relief at the same time.
“I don’t know how to fix this.” you whisper, your voice shaking.
Sonic’s hand rests gently on your shoulder, and for once, he’s not trying to cheer you up or brush things off with a joke. He’s just… there.
“You don’t have to fix it all at once,” he says softly. “We’ll take it one step at a time. And when you fall, I’ll be there to catch you, just like before. You don’t have to do this alone.”
The tears spill over, and you can’t stop them this time. You feel Sonic’s arm wrap around your shoulder, pulling you into a comforting hug. You’ve felt so lost for so long, but right now, in this moment, with him holding you, you feel something you haven’t in a while—a little bit of hope.
It’s small, fragile, but it’s there.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough for now.

No one:
Me: Okay, but what if their relationship has nothing to do with Sonic and Tails? What if Metal literatally just saw Eggman working on Tails Doll and assumed without proof that they were created for him? What if Metal quite literally attached to Tails Doll through this assumption and then their partnership progressed naturally? What if the inorganic creations fell in love as an unorthodox power couple and just so happened to resemble a famous partnership?
#sonic the hedgehog#metal sonic#metdoll#tails doll#i just be ramblin#I am a great Sontails enjoyer okay#and I would be lying if I said I didn't originally consider this pairing because of this#However there is hilarity in making the relationship coincidental and have nothing to do with Sonic & Tails as there is interest to me in#inorganic beings growing close to each other and experiencing feelings they should not be able to#Eggman has a knack for even accidentally creating robots with souls#But also while I love the 'robot learns about love by spending time with a human'#I think it would be interesting for two inorganic beings to grow souls and develop/navigate feelings they should not be able to#feel together‚ even if they don't quite understand the exact nature of their relationship or what 'love' is (or possibly even that it *is*#form of love)#I think of two beings who are not supposed to be 'real' so to speak developing that quality of 'realness' by seeing each other#Kingdom Hearts did this to me btw#Nobodies and data copies and replicas and toys and HECK even in terms of people that are considered real#The ability to grow hearts when others see you and believe that you are real#The idea that you only truly exist when someone else sees you and believes in that existence#kingdom hearts has forever affected the chemistry of my brain#Oh and also if you're reading this and you do see me make a post later that's more related to Metal and Tails doll forming any sort of bond#because of Sonic and Tails‚ know that I am aware of this. I know what I said#The dynamic I've talked about here is a preferred one but I contain multitudes and sometimes it is fun to be like 'this relationship began#in any capacity because of sonic and tails' even if it could hypothetically develop without that connection#anyways#Metdoll💖💖#Oh wait one last thing. While this is a ship post I'm actually a bit fan of complex relationships#So if you have to put a name to the desired relationship I put Metdoll in it's better described as queerplatonic‚ but it's complex#They're just not siblings to each other. That's all#au musings
