JFC I made a joke to myself about how Hornfels gets no love and everyone pairs their hatchling up (in a parental/mentor way) with Feldspar because they're cool or Gossan because they're your flight coach or Slate because they're the one who built your ship.

You yawned sleepily as you trudged into your bathroom, stretching all eight of your limbs as you turned on the sink, your hair messy and body slumped. You splashed water on your face, the cool temperature hitting your face causing you to groggily blink open all six of your eyes.

You stared at yourself in the mirror. Three sets of eyes looked back at you, a (e/c) gaze examining your rough skin and multiple arms. With a sigh, you opened your drawer with the second pair, digging through medicine and bandages before you pulled out your cloaking brooch.

Fastening it onto your shirt, you let out a hum of satisfaction as six eyes transformed into two, and eight arms became (s/c) limbs dangling at your side. Dragging a hand across your soft skin, you waved away the purple smoke of the leftover magic forming a cloud around you, watching as it dissipated into thin air.

After brushing your human teeth and combing your hair, you walked out, feeling refreshed as you threw on (outfit of choice) making sure the brooch was still on your body as you got ready.

You stuck your head out of your doorway, glancing around the dark hall, before quietly tiptoeing out of your room, your feet thumping against the Grand Nexus Hotels red carpet. The hotels light was dim in the morning, allowing the yokai staying to sleep in. But, to you, it was just a great opportunity to sneak out.

You paused as you heard wheels turning behind you. Glancing around, your eyes widened as you recognized the sound of a bellhop pushing a cart. You jumped into the shadows, pressing up against the wall as the panda yokai strolled by you, yawning as he passed.

Slowly creeping out of the dark, you continued to make your way out of the hotel, only stopping once you heard the faint mumbling of your mother, snoring away in her private suite. Peeking into her room, you smiled and laughed quietly as you saw her sleep talking, shaking your head as you moved on.

Being Big Mamas kid wasn’t as bad as it sounds. Though her personality was narcissistic at times, being her child, you rarely ever saw that side of her, a good mother overpowering her villain persona. She made sure you were happy and comfortable staying with her, checking in at times and showering you with gifts. You were spoiled, yes, but not by choice.

But, being the turtles best friend, it was hard maintaining the role of Big Mamas offspring. You often heard her muttering to herself on how she could somehow beat them at their own game, or how she could make sure they would never mess with the hotel again. It made you nervous whenever she would mention them around you, waiting for the exact moment she would look at you and accuse you of being acquaintances with the four. Because, in reality, she would be right.

Clearing your head of these thoughts, you felt relief spread through you as you finally made it out of the hotel doors, letting the sounds of New York envelop your ears as you walked down the sidewalk. Breathing in the fresh air, you felt somewhat at peace. You pulled out your phone, scrolling through your contacts until your finger landed on (turtle of choice).

Is it okay if I come over rn? You texted him, waiting until the three dots appeared on your screen.

Ofc :), he replied. You grinned, stuffing the device back in your pocket, practically skipping your way to the alleyway where the manhole was located.

Once you saw the familiar cover of the manhole, you lifted it up, looking around before slowly sliding beneath it, feeling your leg hook onto the ladder as you made your way down. You felt the air get particularly warmer as you climbed, and saw glints of blue and orange light at the bottom.

As you shuffled off of the ladder, you took a deep breath, making sure the cloaking brooch was hidden from sight beneath your jacket. You waltzed into the lair, making your entrance known to the brothers as you called out, “I’m here!”

You were then greeted by Donnie, who had a coffee mug in hand as he leaned against the counter. “Morning,” he mumbled, sipping his cup.

Mikey swung out of his room, greeting you with a bright, tired smile as he chirped a greeting, arms in the air as he arched his back while yawning. Raph and Leo soon followed suit, stretching just as you had that morning. In summary, they all looked exhausted.

Leo groaned as he plopped himself onto a beanbag, sinking into the soft material. “Sorry guys, but I don’t think I can fight any bad guys today,” he grunted. “I’m beat.”

“Hate to admit it, but I agree with ‘Nardo,” Donnie muttered as he downed the rest of his coffee. “That gang we had to fight yesterday really wiped me out.”

“I think I still have bruises from that one dude,” Mikey huffed, sitting on the floor next to Raph, earning a head pat from the older brother.

“I guess that settles it then,” Raph declared. “Today is a day of relaxation. We aren’t gonna fight anyone-”

As if on cue, Donnie’s wristband beeped twice, signalling danger in the area. They all let out grumbles of protest, while you watched with an amused smile.

“You jinxed us, big bro,” Leo scoffed, getting up while Raph rolled his eyes. “What’s happening, Don?”

“A robbery at the museum,” Donnie read out. “Just a bunch of goons.”

“Nooooo,” Mikey whined, dragging out the o. “I’m too tired to fight.”

“I can come along, if you want,” you volunteered. “Just a little extra assistance.”

“Thanks, (name),” Leo grinned, eyes half lidded from sleep as he made a portal. “Appreciate it.”

Stepping through the portal, you felt delight spread through you. You rarely ever got to tag along on missions with the group, instead being forced to watch over the Battle Nexus or attend fancy dinner parties in your mothers honour.

This is going to be great, you thought excitedly.

It was not great.

As soon as you five stepped through the portal, which had managed to be perfectly placed above the museum, alarms and shouting surrounded all of your senses, causing you to wince. Stepping down, your eyes widened as you recognized the signature red and white masks the thieves wore. Your mothers assistants.

You suddenly felt regret pool at the bottom of your stomach as you froze, watching the others fight the group of bandits while you slowly backed away into a corner. You prayed that somehow you could get out of this situation, as if an angel would pick you up and whisk you away, back home where your worries would disappear.

But, in a flash of light, the thieves were gone, leaving the brothers muttering to themselves in annoyance. Snapping out of your trance, you made your way over, where the group was collecting their scattered weapons.

“Did you get the thing?” You asked quietly.

“No,” Donnie sighed. “They used a smoke bomb to get away.”

“You know what that means,” Leo said in a bittersweet tone. “Next stop- Grand Nexus Hotel.”

Which is how you found yourself in this position— squeezed into a vent above Big Mamas office, tucked against (turtle of choice) as you listened to your mother call out for the four in a mocking tone. Shushes and curses were heard from the crawlspace beside you, with the other three brothers inside. Thank god you had your brooch on, or else your extra limbs would never be able to fit.

Confusion flooded through you as you watched Big Mama stop in the middle of the room, seemingly going over her choices before bringing her purple tinted hand to her chest, ripping off the ruby red pendant, unveiling her much larger spider yokai form. You watched in horror as she brought an arm up, swinging her hand in the air, smacking against the vents you and the others were in.

Much to your dismay, one of the brothers let out a loud curse at the sudden movement, causing a smirk to grow on your mothers face as she hit the vents again, this time with a much stronger force, bringing both of the crawl spaces down to the floor. You screwed your eyes shut, feeling the impact of gravity shake your body as you made contact with the carpet.

You got up in a daze, grunting as you pulled your body up to a standing position. Looking up, you immediately regretted your decision.

Your mothers beady red eyes stared down at you, a look of displeasure on her face you had never seen before. “A human?” She sneered, laughing. “Why, I’ve never seen you before.”

Despite you and the others protests, she lifted you up with one giant hand, your size a measly mouse compared to hers. She eyed you with a venom so foreign to your mind— but then again, she wasn’t your parent right now. She was an enemy.

You couldn’t help but feel the fear course through your veins as her grip on your body got a little firmer, a sharp, suddenly interested glint shimmering in her six eyes. She let out an amused chuckle, her other finger poking you in the chest.

“What’s this?” She cooed tauntingly, pushing back your jacket to reveal your brooch. No.

“A cloaking brooch? How interesting,” she grinned, closing her fingers over the item. You thrashed in her hold, panic overtaking your emotions as you kicked at her fingers, despite it doing nothing but making her smile grow bigger.

“Well, turtles,” she cackled. “Let’s see what your human friend is really hiding!”

As you felt the sudden pressure of her hand suddenly disappear, along with a loud click of the brooch being separated from its pin, you glanced down at would maybe be the last time with your two eyes, seeing shock riddle (turtle of choice)’s expression as a short hiss of magic spread through the air.

Two arms swirled into eight.

Two eyes flickered into six.

(s/c) skin mixed into deep purple.

And lastly, the looks of confusion on everyone’s faces soon turned into disbelief as you slowly spun in the air, hanging by Big Mamas fingers, making eye contact with your—now shocked— mother.

You cleared your throat. “Hi.”

when everything is sorted through, Leo actually finds your added limbs and eyes really cool

if they’re red in yokai form like Big Mamas, he finds it quite pretty

for your arms? just more hands to hold

i think in yokai form you’d get a lot taller than a human— not as tall as Big Mama, but like around 6’7– 7’0

and perfect for him, because he LOVESSS tall ppl lmao

he really likes getting to know the anatomy and study of certain yokai, so he’s running eye tests, seeing how fast your arms can move, etc

Big Mama isn’t rlly pleased ur with him, but at the same time, as long as ur happy, she’s fine

now that ur taller than him (yes, if ur over 5’3, you are taller than him) he sometimes likes using his tech to float himself up to ur level
