edward nashton drabble
| contains : light angst, attempted depiction of pure-o ocd, edward's depersonalization and emotional turmoil
| word count : 670
| note : edward sees a random chick minding her business on his way home from work and loses his sense of self over it. not that there was much there to begin with. not proofread !
It’s not truly sunny out; it hardly ever is in Gotham. The sun peeks through the thick clouds, though, and the skyline looms like a sentinel, shadows draping the streets in an embrace of muted hues. The air carries a hint of dampness — though, it isn’t terribly windy right now, either, it’s quite still this evening — serving as a reminder of the city’s whispers, secrets hidden in the cracks of the pavement.
It’ll rain soon, surely. But not now.
Although the walk from the subway station exit and his apartment isn’t far, Edward, like many others he’d assume, is grateful he isn’t walking home in the rain today. It’s just warm enough that, if it was raining, the droplets on his clothes and in his hair would him feel sticky and his clothes would cling to the slick of his sweat-soaked skin. But with that cool breeze, it might have also made him feel chilled and brittle, and he’d risk coming down with a cold. Lingering on what might have been will make you miss what is, Rene says.
Focus on the here and now, Edward.
Focus on your steps.
1, 2, 3, 4…
Don’t slouch, Edward. Keep your head up.
1, 2, 3, 4…
Keep it down, you might make eye contact.
1, 2, 3, 4…
But what if you bump into someone? Look up.
1, 2, 3, 4…
God, his chest feels tight. His hands feel sweaty. It stings to blink; when was the last time he blinked? Focus on blinking.
Focus on breathing.
In, out, in out…
1, 2, 3, 4…
Don’t forget to blink.
Focus on…
A white t-shirt. A green cardigan. A lace bra.
A blue polo. A pair of jeans. A little white dress.
Hanging from a clothes line. Who uses clothes lines anymore?
Her, apparently.
Laying in the grass, plucking clovers and daisies, lazily spinning them by their stems between her fingers. She looked sleepy as she laid in the dim ray of sun, watching her clothes ripple in the gentle breeze
She lay nestled in the soft embrace of the afternoon, the dim ray of sun spilling across her like a warm whisper. Her eyelids fluttered gently, heavy with dreams that danced just beyond her reach. The world around her breathed in rhythm with her own, the fabric of her clothes swaying like delicate petals caught in a lazy breeze.
Time seemed to stretch, each second dripping like honey, as Edward stood captivated by her stillness. She was an oasis, radiating tranquility in a world choked with decay. He couldn’t help but wonder how she had found this elusive peace. Did she see beauty where he saw despair? Did she embrace the chaos, wrapping it around her like a shawl, while he remained ensnared in his own turmoil? Her serenity was a cruel reminder of his struggle, a stark contrast that echoed in his heart.
Watching her, this— this mystical stranger—Edward felt the weight of his own anguish, heavy as the dark clouds that loomed overhead. She was the flower that thrived in adversity, while he withered in the shadows, longing for the light she seemed to hold so effortlessly. It taunted him, furthering the idea in his mind that he simply was not worthy of life as simple and pretty as laying in the grass and watching clothes dry.
He wondered, bitterly, longingly, what she had done to earn such peace.
Was she kinder than him? Softer than him? Gentler, prettier..? Did she count her steps, or remind herself to stand up straight or squeeze herself smaller when someone stood too close on the train? Did she have to focus on blinking? On breathing?
Does someone so seemingly weightless need to breathe at all?
Edward forced his feet to walk again just as she began to turn her head. He couldn’t bare to see her face. He couldn’t tell you why.
Focus on getting home.
You’ve lived the moment too deeply.
A moment that wasn’t even yours.
1, 2, 3, 4…

Gotta say, massive fan of the work you’ve pumped out, especially for TADC (it came out two weeks or so ago and there’s this much already what?!)
That said, could you write for the gang (separately, I’m sorry l know it’s a lot) who’s s/o resisted abstraction? Like, they were halfway through but turned back through sheer will? *Insert John Wick reference* This has been ping ponging in my head for a while. Thanks for listening! XO
Glitchy pain
I've written for something like this before. And I wasn't sure if you wanted angst or fluff. But since what I wrote before was angst I'm gonna just donna do my ideas on this one. Also to anyone else who feels like requesting don't be afraid to ask for a lot of characters. My max is like 10 and only because Tumblr doesn't like super long posts. I honestly don't think I would have a max if not for that. But really from like 7 pm to 4 am I got a lot of free time and the want to write. So ask to your hearts content. TADC crew x (kind of) abstracted reader
Caine
Caine was floating around when he heard what sounded like a pained and glitchy scream? He quickly floats over to where he heard it from only to find you clutching your head crumpled up into a ball on the floor. He was about to float down and ask you what happened before he noticed the random glitches, black spiky flesh, and randomly colored eye balls all appearing and disappearing in the blink of an eye. So he backed off, a little sad over the fact you were abstracting but life goes on. Until you let out another pained scream, it was almost like the abstraction reacted as the second you screamed it reverted a bit and slowed down. It continues like that for who knows how long. You in a mental and physical battle with abstraction. Caine just staring completely taken back by what he was witnessing. After enough time you vomit a nasty and seemingly living blob of black goo onto the floor and pass out. Caine stares at your motionless body for a few seconds before snapping out of it. He puts the weird goo blob into the cellar and takes you back to your room. He doesn't even know how to react, so he sits there at your bedside waiting for you to wake up. Once you do he is relived to find it's still you, speaking in full sentences and everything. Sure your voice and body have the occasional glitch but overall you're ok. So he leaves you be, mostly. He still needs to study your code for how you did that. But past that and him being a bit more "walking on egg shells" around you, but nothing really changes. And not wanting the others to think your a threat, you and Caine don't tell anyone.
Gangle
Gangle was wandering around looking for you. Her comedy mask broke again and you were the only one who knew how to fix it properly. She could patch it up sure but it never lasted long. Much like Caine she heard you scream out, only difference being she recognized your voice. She quickly changed from casual and aimless stroll to sprint with reason finding you leaned against a wall holding your stomach looking like your about to throw up. She runs up to you and places a hand(?) on each side of your head staring into your eyes. She in a panicked voice asks "Are you ok?! What happened?!" You half shove her away a garbled and messy version of your voice half screaming out that it isn't safe. You quickly regret taking the energy to speak and move as a giant surge of pain jolts up your digital spine forcing you onto your knees. You let out another pained groan/scream as black goo starts oozing out of your mouth. It's only then that Gangle realizes your glitching! She panics and tells you to stay calm while she gets Caine. Gangle sprints off with a mission luckily finding Caine rather quickly. She especially screams at him to help her/follow her. He listens and follows her. When she gets back to where she left you, your passed out. But you aren't glitching anymore. And your not fully abstracted. She carefully walks over to you and sets a gentle hand (ribbon) on your face feeling a whole lot of relief when you half swat at her hand in your sleep. She'll watch you while you sleep making sure you aren't disturbed but when you're awake and she's sure you're ok you are going to be getting a whole lot of cuddles from her. Her comedy mask can wait.
Zooble
Zooble was missing a leg and was hobbling/jumping her way towards your room to ask if you'd seen it. She knocked on your door only to receive no response. She knocks again. Nothing. So she unlocks it with the spare key you gave her. She is stunned by what she sees. Obsessive scribbles covering your walls. Wall paper torn and dirtied. She takes a few cautious steps before finally hearing you say in a horrible sounding voice "P̵̛̣̤̪̑̈́̄͆̚p̴̹͇̆̑̐͠ṕ̷͔̼͙̅̀͐̿͋͜͝P̵̢͚̩̱̮̭̉͜͠l̵͔̟̰̘̼̹̼̯͉͆ḛ̴̣͈̖͛̈́̏̏͌̕͜a̴̢͇̣̮̠͕̮͆̾s̸̡͉̣̺̯͚̾̈́͋̃̑͊͘s̵̼͛̃͛̄̏̊̊͜͠ͅs̷̨̯̬̯͊e̵̢̪̜̗͙̞͈̠͌̔͠s̸̢͔̝̳̞͈̭̲͂͆̇̄͛́́͗ͅͅ ̴̗̻̳̗̜̙̹̘͒̒̑̅̂̎̚͘w̴̰̘͂͊̌̒͘w̸̢̦̑̍̈́͊W̷̨̄̑̌̂̚͝W̵̦̙͇̝̲̪̝̫̜̰̄͑̚w̶̮͐̏̀͊͠h̴̬̤̠̩̰͋͗̾̓̈́̍̅ó̴͍̭͇̯͚̮͔̽̓̔̈́ ̶̥̑͋͒̿̀Ê̶̼͎͇͍̳̯͌͋͐̓̋v̸̢͓̩͗͜͝v̴͇͇̮̻͖͕̰̹̫̔̌̎̇̑́ë̷̪̤̫̪͌͂̓̕͘e̵̢̨̱̘̗͙̘̱̱̩̎̾̀v̸͍̄͠ë̶̡̙̠̣̰̠́͜r̸͇̰͖̍͑͌̆̌ ̷̯̼͕͍̭̭̲͙̰̽̈́͝y̷̪͉͓͗̿̀̐̈̃̆õ̷̢̜̮̬͒̈́͒̿̀̽̈́͂̈́ǘ̸̡̟̭̩̠̜̬͙̃ṵ̴̭̮̹̯̺̜̤̈͂̽u̸̬̠͉̺͍̰͉̦͌̋́̃͌̊͘͜ ̵̲͖̩̹̲̊̐͂͝͝a̵̰̩̻̗͕͎̮͈̥̫͂̂̌̆̆̎̑a̴̭͒͐̏̎́́͝à̶̛̘̮͍̟̻͕̰̽̍͛̽̈́̃͛͝r̴͎͚͇̻̞̬͑̂̅̿͋̅̂͊̔ą̴̛̱̱̗̔̈́̈́̔͒̆̌͘͠r̵̺̰̬̹̮̬̘̜̈́̊͗͛̅̌͌͘͜ę̸̛̺̞͚̹̘̱̥̲̒̍̏̔͛̌̚ȇ̴̩.̶̛̖̙̦̝̹̰͔̉͂̆̉̐̾̐͠͝ ̵̘̙͎̼̻̩̬͖͌̉̾̂̄͜J̵͐̏̇̈́̑̃͜͝͝j̶̛̠̬̟̓͗͗͆̆̀̈́̿̂͜j̴̢͍̦͉̯͑̍̓J̷̨̧̢̳̟̠̯͖͖͚̐̈̏̓̈͐̎̐͝j̶̫̞̬͖̯̯̹̺̩͆̾̽́̈́̄ͅJ̵͖̘̫̓u̷̡̧͔̥͇͕͔̞̠̇͛̈́̎͂̌͂͘̕ş̶͕̫̎ṫ̷͈͖̲̩͉͌̅̍̈́́̿ ̷̠͕͕̖̜̻̯̻̖̃̏̀͂͑́l̷̳̣̼̓̈́̊̈́̈̎̀́̋̚͜L̶̡̜̣͔͔̼̠̗̎̇̈́̕Ļ̴̞̟̱̹͓̹̪͖͚̂̐͐̑̂͆̐̓̚͠ḽ̶̢̧̙̺̯͖̰͓͐͗̽̈́̃̔̀̾̕l̴̢̢̳̜̣̦̎́́̔̕̚e̷͔̫͉̘͉̓̓͋͊̀̿̄̕͝ͅã̷̡̢̝̮͔̮̰̱͒͌̈͊̾͂͠ͅͅv̷̗̼͎̠̝̋̓͒͛̂͐͜͜è̶̪̟̲̘̃̓ ̴̺̊̉͑̉̽̅́̕̕m̸̧̦͔̙͍̘̭̲̄͂m̸̧̫͎͌̀̃͜ͅM̴͍͍̫͚̺͚̪̺̿́̒͋̂͐̿͗̚͘m̴̛̘̼͔͑̿̏̅͌̊̾̕e̴̩̟͈̙͑̏͐̆̓͆̏̚͠͝ ̵̳̤͉͉͙̬̥̉̓́̀̓̃̀̌̊͜ͅḁ̶̧̗͈͍͍̉͂̀͆͗̾̆́̚͜͝l̴̜͓͈̄͌̓̈́̉͊͊̍͝a̵̲͒̋̂͐́̊̕̚͝â̶̢͕̫̘̮͈̻͕͙̩͑̂ḹ̵̨̮̓̓̊̍̕̚͝o̵͖͔̥̳̊̐̀͠n̵̺̥̲͔͔̿͋̊ë̶̯̤̻́̌̎̎́̾͋̄̄̋.̵̪̑͆̀̎" (Please whoever you are. Just leave me alone.) She cautiously walks over to your bed and peaks over it. Your laying there curled up into a ball torn and broken items surrounding you. Y-your abstracting?! B-but... Zooble doesn't even really register the fact. She's in shock from seeing you like this. (I mean I would be too) You let out an ear piercing scream and claw at your own face with enough force to tear the skin, if you weren't digital at least. The glitching gets much much worse for a few seconds before just, stopping. No rhyme or reason that she can see. But you can bet your a&$ that after like 5 seconds pass and you stop showing signs of abstraction she's going to huddle near your spitting out so many questions. Mainly ones like "ARE YOU OK!?!" and "Your still with me right?! RIGHT!?!"
Kinger
Kinger would more likely then not be there when your first started glitching. And that might make him officially lose it. Your the second person in this hell (Queener) who he felt close too. And he outlived you too. Still you aren't abstracted yet. Maybe their's still a chance! So he sprints off screaming out for Caine in a voice that is loud enough to make you go deaf if you were too close to him. When he finds Caine. And he will find Caine he grabs him by the shoulders and sprints towards where he last saw you. He basically throws Caine at your glitching form and yells at him to fix you! In that second you stop glitching Caine did nothing and Kinger will basically tackle you. He'll pick you up and hold you over his head like a spear and sprint towards your rooms. Once there he will set up the comfiest coziest pillow fort possible then get you all comfy inside. Once he's sure your at least mostly safe and he's at least mostly calmed down he'll ask you about what happened. (Despite him being pretty crazy I really do feel like out of everyone he would be the best at communication in a friend or relationship. I mean he's that crazy and yet he still has manners and knowledge about a lot. Tbh he might become my fav. Idk it's possible.)
Ragatha
You were helping out Ragatha with a surprise she was making for everyone to lighten their moods when you said that you feel kind of sick so you were going to call it a night. She nods thanks you for the help you gave then gives you a quick peck to the lips as a send off. Not to much to her surprise you choose to lay in her bed instead of yours. Just something you do when you don't wanna be alone. She shrugs it off and keeps working actually quite grateful that you decided to not leave, not fully at least. She keeps working but stops when she hears some very concerning noises coming from your sleeping body. She turns around to see you tossing and turning an abnormal amount in your sleep, as well as making a lot of noises that sound like when someone is choking on their own blood. Concerned she carefully walks over to check on you only to recoil when she notices the glitching. She trips over her own foot and falls over onto her back. She quickly but clumsily gets up and gets back to you. She shakes you a bit trying to wake you up, but you don't only concerning her more. She yells calls out for Pomni who pokes her head through Ragatha's door a second later. Ragatha nearly screams at her to go get Caine. Pomni startled by Ragatha's tone turns heel and runs off to look for Caine while Ragatha stays with you. She keeps whispering things like "You're gonna be ok" and "Pomni's getting Caine just hang in there". Always keeping a hand on you not caring when it starts glitching out too. When Pomni returns with Caine, Ragatha full on yells at him to help you. He looks at you, then back at her, then with a apologetic tone says their isn't anything he can do as abstraction is one of those things he doesn't have control over. Ragatha breaks into tears. So she's gonna lose you, she was even there. BUT SHE CAN'T F@%#&$* HELP?! She holds onto you like you're her last tether to reality. And you seem to get better. Your at the very least don't seem to be in pain anymore! So she squeezes you, really f&$%@#* hard happier then should be possible that your improving.
Jax
Jax found you in his room voice glitching you huddled over in pain. At first he thought it was a revenge prank and acted accordingly. "Haha, very funny Y/N. Now get out of my room I need to do something." That is until you vomited up a ton of pitch black goo. Then he started taking it more seriously. He quickly crouches down and wraps an arm around you to try and provide some support. He freaks out and quickly pulls his arm back when you vomit up more goo and starts visibly glitching. He panics and quickly looks around his room locking onto a like 3 day old unopened water bottle. He opens it and hands it to you as well as a thing to squeeze that half yells to just hang in there he'll be right back. He sprints around not even knowing who to get. He sees Ragatha and half tackles her. He shouts directly into her face that you need help and that you in his room. He tosses her in the direction of his room then continues sprinting around not long after finding Caine. He grabs Caine ignoring his protests and runs back to his room where he fins Ragatha sitting next to his bed you tucked in. Your not vomiting anything and you aren't glitching. You're just shivering. He hears you mumble his name and literally kicks Ragatha and Caine out quickly getting to your side. After he feels he wont get hurt he quickly gets into bed holding you close "If you ever do that again I'm going to take back my vow to not tease you." He falls asleep with his chin resting on your head.
Pomni
At first when you started glitching Pomni didn't really know it was abstraction. She's never seen someone abstract after all, only seeing the finished product. But when you keep getting worse and worse she realizes that something is wrong. So she leaves you with a quick kiss then runs off to the communication thing Caine made after the whole Kaufmo incident. She calls him and when he picks up she screams into the phone that your glitching out. When Caine appears next to her she runs back over to where you are not even checking if Caine is following. When she gets back to you, you're still in really bad shape. She turns back to Caine and yells at him to help you. When he tells her that he can't she starts hyperventilating, then she sees him pick you up and the cellar hole open?! OH F&#$ NO! She basically punches Caine then clings to you protectively, ready to throw hands with Caine if she has to. Caine tries and pull her off when she starts glitching but she has the grip of a professional rock climber. So Caine has to keep curing her glitches at they appear. Cause in his mind your beyond help but she isn't. Then you start to improve. No more coughing and the glitching has slowed down! Pomni glares at Caine then turns back to you with a scared and tired smile on her face. Once your ok enough to talk you are going to get an earful. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL HER YOU WERE FEELING BAG ENOUGH TO ABSTRACT?!?!?! (Sorry this was so long. I got a little carried away. And surprisingly I'm pretty proud of this one. I hope you enjoyed it!)
xoxo, Jester

@tiny-gay-satan tagging u cos u love this series xx
Y/n wiped down the counters at the diner as she sighed heavily. She was still mad at Jordan the other night. The memories of last night quickly flashed by in her brain, occupying it as she tried to focus. All she could think about was Rabbit and how she had a great time with him last night. She'd never had anything like that before with any other guy.
Suddenly, the bell above the door chimed as it opened. Y/n looked up to see Carly entering the diner with a warm smile on her face. She sat down at the barstool and looked at Y/n sympathetically.
“Hey girl. I heard about what happened last night.” Carly said.
“You did?” Y/n asked.
“Yeah, everyone knows about the little feud Jordan and your little lover boy got in.”
“Wait? Everyone knows about that?”
“Yup. I'm pretty sure Papa Doc's gang were talking about it too.”
“Tha Free World? I hate those guys…”
“I know right, they're all so arrogant and full of themselves.” Carly scrunched up her face in disgust.
“Also, Rabbit is not my ‘lover boy’.” Y/n started putting air quotes around the words ‘lover boy’. “We're just friends.”
“I know, I'm just teasing. Do you think Jordan and Rabbit will apologise?”
“I hope. I don't want them fighting over something stupid. I feel guilty.” Y/n frowned as she looked away from Carly.
“Hey, it’s not your fault. Their boys, they’re gonna be immature.” Carly reassured her.
Y/n chuckled softly. “Yeah, I guess. It’s just, they’re best friends. They’ve known each other since high school, I don’t wanna ruin anything between them.”
“Well, if it’s really bothering you, then why don’t you try helping them apologise?”
“How would I do that? I’d just make things worse.”
As Carly tried to think of something, the bell above the door chimed again as it opened. Y/n and Carly look to see Rabbit entering the diner. He immediately laid his eyes on Y/n and gave her a soft smile before approaching her. Carly quickly smirked at her friend before getting up to move elsewhere.
“I’ll give you and lover boy some time.” She teased with a playful wink before sitting down at a booth.
Before Y/n could say anything, Rabbit was already sitting at the bar stool. The first few seconds were just silence as they looked at each other with softened expressions.
“Hey.” Rabbit said, softly.
“Hey.”
“I think we should talk about last night.”
“Yeah…”
“Listen, I wanna apologise to your brother but he definitely doesn’t wanna talk to me right now.”
“I can help.”
“You can?”
“Yeah but before that, I just wanna say sorry-”
“Don’t apologise. It’s not your fault.”
“I know but-”
Rabbit placed his hand on top of Y/n’s as his gaze lessened. She could see a spark in his eyes as he gently smiled at her and moved his thumb against her hand gently and slowly. His hand felt baby-soft, completely in contrast to his rough exterior.
“It’s not your fault. Stop apologising.” He whispered.
“Okay,” Y/n whispered back softly. “I’ll stop.”
“Now, tell me. Do you have any ideas?”
The following 2 hours consisted of them talking out ideas to try and sneakily get Jordan and Rabbit to meet up without getting anything to go wrong. It was difficult when Y/n was constantly switching between cleaning tables, taking orders, serving food and then talking to Rabbit again. Carly would glance at them every moment or so with a knowing smirk as she sipped on her chocolate milkshake or took a bite from her burger or chips.
“Okay, well that works for me.” Rabbit said, concluding the conversation.
“Right then. I’ll see you later.” Y/n replied.
‘Yeah. See you.” With those final words, Rabbit left the diner.
Immediately, Carly got up from her booth and approached Y/n and smiled at her. “You two going on another date?” She teased.
“No. We have a plan on getting Jordan and Rabbit to apologise to each other.” Y/n replied with a stern look on her face that matched her tone perfectly.
“Okay, but are you gonna act like him reaching for your hand never happened?”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know what I’m talking about!” Carly exclaimed. “You’re saying you completely missed out the part when he put his hand on yours?!”
“Oh, that. Well-”
“Oh, it’s okay Y/n. It's not your fault. How about we go on another date and make out with each other?” Carly said in a high pitched voice, clearly mocking Rabbit.
“Lower your voice.” Y/n replied. “You’re acting like a child. He didn’t say any of that.”
“Then what did he say?”
“He just told me to stop apologising and that it wasn't my fault.”
“Yeah, same thing. Y/n, he's into you and so are you. Shoot your shot.”
“We're just friends Carly. And even if I did like him, I'd probably focus on getting him and Jordan to apologise before trying anything.”
Y/n got home after her exhausting shift and immediately threw herself onto the couch. Her back ached and her muscles felt utterly sore. Her ears were ringing and she had a killer headache too, not the best combination.
“You alright?” Jordan asked as he entered the room.
“No, not really. I'm so tired from work.” Y/n replied. “Shit, I left my purse at the diner.” She groaned in realisation. “Can we go get it?”
“You want me to drive you to the diner?” Jordan asked.
“Well it's bad enough you didn't want pick me up from my shift!” Y/n exclaimed. “Had to walk with aching legs back home now I can't even get a ride.” Y/n complained as she shuffled to get up.
“Okay, okay. I'll drop you off there.” Jordan insisted.
Y/n smirked to herself at how gullible Jordan was as she got in his car. She hadn't actually forgotten her purse. She was only lying to get Jordan to drive to the diner where Rabbit was waiting.
Jordan parked his car in front the diner and looked over at his sister. “Go in and get it.”
“Actually…” Y/n began.
“Jeez, what did you do now?”
“Nothing! You just need to get out of the car.”
Jordan groaned I'm frustration as he unbcukled his seatbelt and got out of the car aggressively. Y/n couldn't help but chuckle at her brother's antics as she got out of the car.
Instead of her gong inside to the diner, she went around the back to a dark alleyway. Jordan scrunched up his face in confusion as he watched his sister going completely off task.
“Hey! Where the hell are you going?” Jordan asked.
Y/n didn't respond as she simply just continued to walk down the alleyway. Jordan quickly ran after her in a panic.
“Y/n Y/l/n! Stop walking away from me!” He shouted after her, sounding just like a concerned mother.
When he entered the alleyway, all he could see was a dead end that chips of brick falling off and muddy graffiti. He soon became panicked when he realised his sister wasn't there.
“Y/n?” He called out.
“Jordan.” A voice said.
He turned around to see Y/n and Rabbit standing behind him. His sister had a stern expression and Rabbit looked nervous buy tried to cover it with a neutral expression.
“What the hell is he doing here?” Jordan asked, feeling a spike of anger.
“Jordan, calm down.” Y/n said.
“Don't tell me to calm down! You bought me out here for nothing?”
“Not for nothing.” Rabbit interrupted. “Listen, man. I'm sorry, okay? I know asking your sister to hang out with me before asking you was wrong. And I know I should've told you before hand. I just don't want this ruin our friendship, man.”
The air was thick with tension as Jordan only stared at Rabbit with an unreadable expression. “Man, I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have gotten mad.”
Rabbit smiled Jordan, feeling relieved at his response. “So we're good?”
“We're good.”
Jordan and Rabbit dapped each other up with their signature handshake before pulling each other into a hug. Y/n exhaled a sigh of relief she didn't realise she was holding. She was genuinely happy to see that her brother's friendship was mended.
“Hey, did you walk here? I didn't see your car at the car park.” Jordan asked.
“Nah man, I walked here.” Rabbit replied.
“Hey, I'll give you a ride home.”
“Nah man, it's fine.”
“Rabbit, no way you're walking home in this cold ass weather.”
“Alright, I'll come. Thanks man.”
During the car ride, Jordan and Rabbit were discussing the rap battle taking place next week on Friday. Y/n simply instead listened whilst looking out the window, watching as the houses and rundown buildings passed her eyes.
“You can drop me off here.” Rabbit said.
“Man, don't be stupid. I can drop you off at your home.” Jordan insisted.
“I know but-”
“Rabbit. I don't care about where you live. Y/n won't either. Don't be embarrassed.” He said as he continued driving.
Y/n looked over at Rabbit and gave him a soft smile, letting him know that what Jordan said was true and that he didn't have to worry. Rabbit smiled back, feeling reassured.
Jordan stopped in front of Rabbit's trailer and dapped him up before Rabbit got out of the car.
“Alright, I'll see you around man.” Jordan said as he rolled the window down.
“Yeah man, see you too.” Rabbit replied. “Oh, and Y/n. Lily asked if you could come over some time. She likes your company.”
Jordan turned to his sister and gave her a nod, letting her know she could go. Y/n smiled at her brother before looking back at Rabbit.
“Yeah, I can do that. How's tomorrow?” She asked.
“Tomorrow's good. 10 am?”
“Works for me.”
“Alright. I'll see you then. Goodnight you two.”
Jordan and Y/n bid Rabbit goodnight before they drove back home.
Y/n knocked on Rabbit's door and waited in anticipation. For some reason, she could feel a buzz of nervousness in her stomach making it's way around to the rest of her body. She didn't understand why she felt this way, she wasn't scared for all she knew.
The door opened to reveal Lily looking up at Y/n with glee through her adorable blonde bangs.
“Y/n!” She exclaimed before hugging her.
“Hey Lily.” Y/n replied with a wide smile on her face.
“Come in!”
Lily stepped aside for Y/n to enter. The place was pretty cramped but it had a cosy feel to it. Y/n spotted Rabbit making pancakes in the kitchen and she was a bit surprised to say the least.
He wasn't wearing one of those baggy hoodies she had only ever seen him in. Instead, he was wearing a white tank top that suited him perfectly. His arms were toned with muscles that looked incredibly hot. He wasn't wearing his beanie either, revealing his brown buzz cut. Rabbit put the last pancake on the plate then turned to smile at Y/n.
“Hey.” He said.
“Hey.” Y/n replied
“Did you have breakfast? I'm making pancakes.”
“I already ate at home.”
Rabbit nodded and kissed his teeth. “Uh, I should probably change this.” He said, looking down at his tank.
“Is it not hot?” Y/n blurted out. She could feel her cheeks burning up as the words left her mouth.
“It's November, Y/n.” Rabbit chuckled. “And of course you find it hot. You're wearing layers.” And by layers, he was referencing the shirt and baggy cardigan she was wearing.
Lily dragged Y/n over to the sofa and made her sit down. Lily took her little legs to the kitchen and took her plate of pancakes. She retreated to the sofa and placed the pancakes on her lap.
“When mum's not home, Jimmy let's me eat on the sofa and watch TV.” Lily giggled.
“He's a fun brother, huh?” Y/n asked.
“Yeah, I would've watched TV but I wanna talk to you.”
Y/n felt a cocoon of butterflies erupting in her heart as Lily said that. She smiled softly at her nodded. “I would love that.”
“Yay!” Lily cheered with a mouthful of pancakes. “So can we be friends?”
“Yeah, we can be friends.”
Lily giggled and continued talking to Y/n gleefully. Her brown eyes lighted up with excitement every time Y/n would answer some of her questions. She would continue to eat her pancakes as she listened carefully.
Rabbit came out of his room and leaned against the doorpost as he watched Y/n and Lily talking. Something about the way Y/n was soft and gentle with her tone when it came to talking to his sister made him feel something that he couldn't quite explain. He took his pancakes and sat with the girls on the couch.
“Jimmy's working on a new track and I think it's dope!” Lily said.
Rabbit chuckled and Lily's interesting word choice and ruffled her hair. “Thanks baby.”
“You should listen to it after we finish breakfast.” Lily said to Y/n.
“If it's okay with your brother.” Y/n said as she looked over at him with gentle smile.
“Yeah, why not?” He replied.
After breakfast, Rabbit bought Y/n into his and Lily's shared room. The girls sat on the bed whilst Rabbit sat on his chair and played the track.
If first started off with a few notes of the piano before it quickly changed to another beat, followed by Rabbit's voiced.
Yo, his palms are sweaty,
Knees weak,
Arms are heavy.
The lyrics played. Some parts of the song were left blank with no lyrics with only the beat playing.
“I left the parts I don't have lyrics for blank for now.” Rabbit explained.
“What do you think?” Lily asked.
“I like it. The beat’s nice. And your voice goes perfectly with it.” Y/n replied.
Rabbit smiled as he felt the tips of his ears heating up as they went pink. “Yeah, thanks.”
Time passed quickly as seconds struck like swift bolts of lightning. Rain pattered against the windows, making a calming rhythm of nature. The three of them were sitting around the table eating food Rabbit had prepared.
The warm food felt perfect against Y/n's tongue as her taste buds took in all the flavour, making a satisfying sensation for her. The scent of the food meandered through her nostrils, making her want to take more.
“You're a great cook, Rabbit.” Y/n complimented him.
“Thanks. But pancakes and lasagna are the only things I can make.” Rabbit replied.
“You can make sandwiches too!” Lily said, with little bits of sauce and cheese on the corners of the mouth.
“Anyone can make sandwiches.” Rabbit said as he took a napkin and cleaned the remnants of food off Lily's face.
“Can I?” Lily asked, her voice piqued with curiosity.
“Yeah, it's easy. 2 pieces of bread with some type of filling.”
The rest of the dinner was carried out by a comfortable silence and the sounds of cutlery clinking as they hit the plate. The silence was quickly disrupted when Rabbit's mum arrived home.
“Hey sweeties.” Stephanie said, greeting her children. She then saw Y/n sitting at the table, with a smile on her face. “Oh, Rabbit, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend.”
Embarrassment radiated off Y/n's face as her heat rose to her cheeks and to her ears, making her flustered.
“Ma, she's not my girlfriend. She's just a friend.” Rabbit groaned.
“Oh, sorry.” She apologised. “I'm Stephanie by the way.”
“I'm Y/n, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too. Say, you look quite familiar…”
“She's Jordan's sister.” Rabbit said.
“Oh, no wonder! You two look so alike!”
The four of them chatted with each other, catching up on highlights for the day before Stephanie decided to retreat to her room. They also eventually finished their dinner and Y/n insisted she could help with the washing up.
Rabbit helped tuck Lily into bed whilst Y/n watched from the doorstop, a soft look in her eyes. He sang a quiet and gentle song to his sister to help her sleep. His voice sounded like an angel, beautiful and pure. When Lily eventually drifted to sleep, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead before turning the lights off and leaving the room.
“You're a good brother, you know.” Y/n said as they both sat on the couch.
“Thanks. But sometimes it just feels like I'm not.”
“What makes you say that?”
“I just have this voice in my head that's telling me that she's growing up in a shitty trailer park because of me. That we're broke because of me. And I know it's my deadbeat dad to blame for, but I can't help that it's my fault. I want to give her the best. I can't do that.”
Y/n held Rabbit's hand, her fingertips grazing his silken hand as she traced every detail on it. She could feel her stomach twisting in nervousness as she did.
“Rabbit, you're a great brother. Lily looks so happy. Everytime I looked at her, she would always be smiling at you. She loves you Rabbit and she would definitely say that you're a great brother. And nothing is your fault, okay?”
Rabbit smiled softly as his grip on Y/n's hand tightened slightly. “Thanks. That means a lot.”
Y/n looked at the clock on the wall. She read as she realised that it was getting late. She immediately got up and dusted herself off. Some parts of her wanted to keep holding his hand.
“I need to go. It's getting late.” She said.
“I'll drop you off.” Rabbit offered.
“No, it's fine. I can walk.”
“No way. It's not safe for girls to walk here during this time of night.”
Y/n sighed “Fine.”
He grabbed his beanie and put it over his, then adjusted it slightly. He got his car keys as Y/n followed him out. They got in the car, feeling a wave or warmth hit their face, a complete contrast to the icy air outside.
The car ride had no exchange of words as quiet jazz music played from the radio. When they reached Y/n's house she took one last look at Rabbit and smiled.
“Thank you. I had a lot of fun.” She said, softly.
“Me too.”
Without any warning, she reached in for an embracing hug. A caring warmth radiated their bodies and they put their arms around each other.
“I'll see you.” Y/n said after she pulled away.
“Yeah, see you.”
She got out of the car and went inside as she heard Rabbit's car driving away. Jordan was still at work. After getting into bed, she softly smiled to herself as she rewound the core memories of today. She felt a bud of happiness blooming in her heart.
A/N: thinking about making this a mini series with 6-7 chapters. Chapters may be a little longer though.

Summary: Eight online friends meet in person for the first time and plan to have a wild weekend. However, things quickly go awry when they are kidnapped by a notorious biker gang. Hilarity, misadventures, and perhaps even feelings ensue.
Stars twinkle in the night sky above, the light of the full moon illuminating the pavement as an old microbus makes its was through the city. Peals of laughter can be heard from within, a chorus of eight voices shouting along to lyrics they all know by heart. Every so often, a streetlamp provides insight to wide smiles stretched across bright faces, most dancing in their seats or shaking their other friends lightly in excitement.
This trip was meticulously planned. Simply getting everyone’s schedules to line up was a pain, but as luck would have it, an opening seemed to appear for them all. Furious calls were made and messages sent to arrange the perfect getaway for these eight friends, excitement lingering in every voice to finally be able to spend some time with each other.
What better way to spend some quality time with friends than on a road trip?
Thus, a microbus was rented, bags were packed, and the meeting point was set. All that is left to do is make it to their hotel for the night, and pick right back up where they left off tomorrow.
“I still can’t believe you convinced that guy in the chicken costume to take a picture with us.” A large grin stretches across Elara’s features as all heads turn to look at Aurora.
“And it made for a good memory!” She beams, pulling out her phone to begin swiping through the photos. “Look how happy we all are!”
“The photos did come out really nice.” Larissa hums, reaching forward to grab Aurora’s phone.
“Look at our faces!” Nix cackles, swiping the phone and zooming in on the picture. “Caly and Aries are giving the chicken man the worst side eye imaginable.”
“Any man who says ‘let’s cock-a-doodle-doo this’ deserves to get the side eyes of death.” Aries replies bluntly, leaning back in his seat to get more comfortable.
“Fair enough,” Rhea laughs, patting the taller male on his shoulder. “What’s your reasoning Caly?”
All heads turn to the woman in the driver’s seat who has been quiet this whole time. A slight frown mars her brows, eyes flicking between the dashboard and the road ahead.
“Caly?” Eris tilts her head in concern, noting how her friend’s lips purse in worry. “What’s wrong?”
A few glances are shared around the vehicle, each friend sitting forward in anticipation.
“Calypso?” Aurora leans forward in the passenger seat, making sure her face is in view of her friend’s peripheral.
“Sorry guys, the check engine light came on about five minutes ago and it hasn’t seemed to want to turn off.” Caly finally responds, noting a small parking lot about a block away. “I’m just going to pull in here and make sure it’s nothing serious-“
Almost as soon as those words escape her mouth, grey smoke begins to billow out from the engine.
“Oh shit, something is definitely wrong!” Nix’s eyes widen as they pull into the empty parking lot.
The moment the vehicle comes to a stop, it lets out a loud rumbling groan. A few clicks can be heard before the microbus shuts off, more smoke rising from the engine.
“Well, that’s not good.” Rhea blinks, unbuckling their seatbelt and opening the side door.
It takes about a minute for all eight passengers to exit the vehicle, a few of them circling the microbus. Phones come out, flashlights turned on to inspect the surrounding area.
“Good thing we got insurance.” Aries sighs, popping the hood.
Slowly, the smoke seems to be dissipating, all eight friends crowding around the front of the vehicle.
“We were almost out of the city, too.” Elara sighs, looking briefly off in the distance.
“We still had an hour to go before we reached the hotel, though.” Eris comments, checking the map on her phone.
“We shouldn’t drive it any further tonight.” Caly sighs, pulling up a contact on her phone. “I’ll call a tow.”
Fifteen minutes later, and some mumbled complaints from friends, a tow is called.
“They said they should be here in about an hour, so we’ve got some time to kill.” Caly says, tucking her phone into her back pocket.
“What are we supposed to do for an hour?” Larissa frowns, letting out a soft exhale. Her foot begins to tap rhythmically on the ground.
“Maybe there’s something around here still open that we can check out?” Aurora suggests.
“What would still be open at this hour?” Crossing her arms over her chest, Nix huffs.
“Well, it looks like there’s a bar across the street…” Rhea points out.
All heads turn to see a faint neon sign, a few windows with a dull light illuminating the inside. The place seems pretty busy, too.
“Thank goodness,” Larissa already begins hustling across the street. “I have to pee.”
The others follow closely behind, a few chuckling affectionately at their friend.
“I could use a drink.” Nix hums, Aurora happily agreeing.
“Maybe we can order some food while we wait?” Elara suggests, the others nodding along with her words.
Aries holds the door open for all of them, and as they all step inside, it’s as if a small electric shock travels through their bodies. Sounds seems to muffle for the moment as the atmosphere surrounds them. Spines straighten and brows furrow, a few shuffling from foot to foot once they notice just how crowded the bar is.
“Did anyone else feel that?” Eris’ hushed whisper gets ignored as the hustle and bustle of the bar assaults their ears suddenly in full force.
Larissa is the first to seemingly snap out of her daze, blinking a few times before marching through the crowd and towards the sign labelled ‘bathroom’. Little does she notice the eyes that follow her every move.
Shortly after, Aurora, Nix, and Elara all begin to weave through the crowd and towards the bar. Soft chatter is heard all around, yet the three girls all manage to hear each other for the moment, discussing what drinks they should get.
“I wonder what food they have here…” Elara mumbles, sidling up to the bar.
Unbeknownst to them, three sets of eyes track their every movement, a male drifting towards each individual almost subconsciously.
“Maybe we should grab a table?” Rhea suggests lightly.
Nods are shared by the remaining friends, searching through the crowd for an open space to fit all eight.
“There.” Aries flicks his head to a table in the corner by the front windows.
Wordlessly, all four of them walk over, sliding into the rounded booth to wait for their friend’s return.
Every few minutes, Calypso keeps checking her phone. A worried frown tugs at her features, and she keeps glancing out the window towards that parking lot across the street.
“I’m gonna go wait by the car,” she says, sliding out of the booth a moment later. “You know, just in case the tow comes early, or something. I don’t want to miss their call. Plus, it’s a little too loud in here.”
“I’ll come with you!” Rhea hops out of the booth. “Maybe there’s another place open we can check out.”
“Sounds good.” Aries hums, casually resting his one arm across the back of the booth while Eris scopes out the place.
With a final wave, Caly and Rhea part from their friends, heading back out the door they had just walked in only minutes before.
Two males behind the counter share a look.
A few minutes pass by, Eris continuously glancing over towards the bar to keep an eye on her friends. Though, with the amount of people weaving between tables and lingering about, it’s getting harder and harder to spot her friends. In fact, she’s already lost visual on Elara and Aurora. Luckily, Nix seems to still be in plain sight.
“Issie is sure taking a long time in the bathroom.” Eris comments, worrying her bottom lip. “I can’t see Lara or Rora, either.”
“I’m sure they’re fine.” Aries hums, glancing out the window to see Caly across the street leaning against the car, and Rhea heading down the street. He turns his attention back to the bar, having felt eyes on him. “I can see them right now.”
“Alright,” Eris replies, a vary tone to her voice. “But I’m going to go check on Issie.”
All Eris receives from the taller male is a nod in response. Carefully, she slips out of the booth, heading in the same direction Larissa did only minutes before.
A pair of eyes follow her through the crowd, yet she is none the wiser. A pair of eyes which glance around the room, flashing briefly as they lock with several other sets that all seem to share the same thought.
Eight subtle nods are given, and eight friends are soon separated, never to see each other that night again.

(request is here) Note: All characters originated from “The Uncanny Counter/Amazing Rumor” except for Y/n.
English is not my first language!!! Sorry in advance if I make any grammar and vocabulary mistakes.
Who would’ve guessed there was legitimately a place for the dead to arrive after life? Not exclusively for the completely-dead, though, it was created for close-to-dead people as well, like in your case right now.
You remembered girl-bossing a little too close to the sun and falling into a coma over… whatever. But instead of sinking into everlasting gloom where you could no longer feel or think like how those Hollywood movies portrayed, you were embraced by a bleached-clothed person who flung you back and forth between a fonded place of your memory and a blank white setting just as bleached, informing you about the world full of “evil spirits” and lecturing you into becoming a “counter” if you wished to continue living.
Since you were too young and beautiful, you refused to gaf about the possible risks of getting unalived for the second time, closed-eyedly concluding the verbal contract for a (hopefully) glorious future.
“Um…”
Six pairs of eyes leaped over at you. Ms. Chu swallowed her noodles before responding: “What’s the matter?”
“Well, I…”
You scratched the back of your neck out of instinct, briefly making eye contact with the rest of the table: “I’ve told you that I used to work in the fashion field, right?”
The chairman nodded his head: “Yeah, you did mention that the first day you came here."
There is no way you could back out now, not after you have entirely mustered the attention. Rotating unsaid words in your mouth while you observed their expressions one last time, hoping no one would find your sudden proposal weird: “If you don’t mind, is it alright if I… take your measurements and make some outfits? I just think it would be nice to at least do something in return for all the help I’ve been getting from you. I know it’s not a lot but…”
And that was how you ended up here, pacing around with a tailor’s ruler and a notepad.
Your suggestion wasn’t really approved at first as the team reassured you that it wasn’t just their responsibility to be your advisor but, at the same time, they were happy to be there for you, and that you shouldn’t be bothered to “return” the favor. But who are you to stop? All the remaining brain cells of yours congregated to list down every possible reason why this was what you deeply desired to do, including your “burning passion for fashion” and “essentiality for experience and modeling purposes.”
Thankfully, they all accepted your offer after ten minutes of hesitation.
Scribbling Jeokbong’s results down on the piece of paper, you scanned around, looking for the last person your notepad was still missing: “Where’s So Mun?”
Hana zipped up her hoodie that had been removed earlier for you to record her sizes, nonchalantly answering: “In his room, I suppose. His phone died so he said he’s going to charge it real quick.”
You thanked her before grabbing the equipment and making your way to the place mentioned. The hallway submerged itself in peaceful tranquility, conversations feebly reverberated back from the dinner table where your teammates gathered.
You knocked on So Mun's door to announce your presence, which was unnecessary since he was quick to notice you through the circular window: “Hey, do you mind if I…?”
“My turn already?” So Mun watched you nod with his signature amiable smile: “Sure. Do you need me to step outside?”
Sneaking a peek through the furniture and simple decorations, you stopped at his figure and moved closer. For some reason, the floor felt strangely unfamiliar as if you were a fawn testing its first step: “Nah, right here should also be fine, this won’t take long.”
The soothing atmosphere was filled with the subtle rustling of the measuring tape. Each touch of the tape was deliberate, like a delicate caress, ensuring precision in every little detail. You made a mental note of the circumference of his wrist and the length of his arm. So Mun was also very cooperative, staying still with a straight posture while you interchanged small talk: “So, what kind of outfits do you plan on making?”
You hummed, letting out a chuckle when he cracked up from the ticklishness of the stroke: “I’m not sure yet, maybe I can hear what your preference is after this? That way I can get a plus point for customer service too, a win-win for us.”
He lightheartedly went along with your playfulness: “Oh, I can’t wait!”
“Um-hm, now don’t squirm around or I’m gonna put you in a Chucky fit.”
“So we also do cosplay? Interesting,”
Soft laughter resonated. You were so diverted by the bubbly ambiance flowing from So Mun that you didn’t notice you had leaned over to slide the tape behind his neck, encircling it attentively to avoid any signs of discomfort. It was a calming afternoon, causing the source of light to be perceptibly minimized. As much as you tried to pin your focus on the assessment, your unamenable mind kept on targeting his lower-half face that popped into your view.
So Mun was adorned with a kiss from the dim sunlight glow, and for this one time you were given a chance to admire him this close, you were dazed to see how ideally shaped his jawline was, sharp enough to cut grass while the plumpness of his lips tamed the roughness down, two aspects blending perfectly like yin and yang.
Now you knew why the ground felt strange and your stomach flipped.
In front of you stood a young man who seemed to have stepped out of a webtoon where its protagonist was an underrated visual until the later season. Charismatic and fascinating, his gentle yet chiseled features must’ve been carved out under the skilled hands of the most proficient sculptor, embellished by an air of youthfulness.
From the very first glance, you were absolutely convinced that So Mun was, indeed, a local heartthrob.
His effortless charm easily attracted gazes and turned heads among those who crossed his path. Dark, tousled curls framed a face that was abundantly favored by the eyes, easy to remember but not easy to forget. His thick brows added the final touch to the astounding side profile and praised a pair of expressive gemstones that accommodated secrets untold. His pupils illustriously mirrored a pellucid surface of the water, holding both innocence and wisdom within those splendid irises that had been dyed in a ravishing deep brown color.
And the scariest part was that every time you laid your eyes on him, he seemed to become prettier.
Now that you have stumbled across his vicinity, you secretly prayed to every known religion (or just your own sanity in general) that you would commit nothing out-of-character to give away how bad you’ve already grown to fancy this man. Or else… there will be no “or else.”
Still, something had been peculiarly off.
It must’ve occurred to be some kind of hormonal chemical imbalance going wild right now. Because hell, the last time you found yourself feeling so jumpy around another person was when Hana nearly knocked you out after twenty minutes of physical abuse training (trust me, she did go 10x easier on you compared to how she went on So Mun and Jeokbong). But this specific man right here was not your mentor, nor was he about to beat you to a pulp. All he did was exist and let you take his measurements, periodt.
Maybe he was just remarkably snatched? It couldn’t be since your adrenaline level didn’t act (this) weird around Hana and Motak. Sure, your heart rate did climb notably when situated in close proximity with them, but with So Mun in particular?
It skyrocketed.
A long, deep breath silently expanded your lungs, working extra hard to untie the obstructive tensity. You stared at the tiny numbers on the tape measure and mentally repeated it two hundred times in an effort to inscribe the result in memory. However, it was suddenly an impossible task because of how disconnected your mind was at the moment.
So Mun was too close to you right now. Not dangerously close, yet the distance was limited enough for your head to spin and your heart to pound.
You have no clue if you should embrace this internal madness or not, but you certainly acknowledged that your lucidity and dignity were shrinking after each passing second. It’s going to be bad if you don’t get out of here soon.
“Y/n, why’s your face so red?”
Shit.
“What? No.” You denied without missing a beat, which laid bare your disobliging trepidation almost right away from how fast you responded.
So Mun marginally narrowed his eyes with plain disagreement: “Yes, it is. You’re not feeling unwell anywhere, are you?”
An invisible sigh of relief dropped when you realized he wasn’t aware of the tangible distraction you felt around him but rather centered the strange enhancement of color on your cheeks. You assured yourself that it was only you manifesting the accusation against yourself, so you tried gaslighting him into thinking he was the drama instead: “I’m fine, really. Are you sure it’s not you who is seeing things?”
“Huh? But your face wasn’t red like this earlier, I swear I’m not mistaken.”
Unfortunately for you, So Mun’s intelligence ran in his family. So you must’ve been in your sweet dream to expect a detectives’ son would be fooled by such a half-assed reason.
Each motion of yours was helplessly cornered like a prey waiting to be demolished under his unceasing focus, especially when two of you were the only ones in the room right now, all alone and suspicious: “Hold up, if you’re not sick… why are you blushing?”
Your mouth was clenched shut. Even the tiniest sound pealed loudly in the current confined space, reflecting your nervous gulp as clear as day.
So Mun called your name again after the short pause, sounding even gentler than how he usually spoke in that… ludicrously charming voice of his: “Y/n.”
“What?”
“Don’t tell me…” The way he drew the last syllable out slightly longer hurled a thud into your chest, sparking your diffidence. You heaved your eyes to meet his own only to regret your decision immediately as you were welcomed by a cunning smile he tried hard to suppress: “...you’re getting shy?”
You squinted and looked down, knowing damn well you, in fact, were shy as fuck: “No. Why would I be?”
“Yes, you are, you can’t see yourself right now but I can, you’re blushing all over the place. You were fine just now, were you not? Why suddenly get shy?” He closely beheld your reaction, allowing a grin to plaster as the traitorous shade of pink on your cheeks evidently declared how you truly felt: “Is it because of me?”
“Because of you?” Knowing he had successfully caught you red-handed, you tried the hardest to play it off cool with a sassy eye roll while hanging the tape just a couple of millimeters away from the width of his shoulders: “Where did you even get that from?
“From the way you act?”
“Dear customer, you’re delusional.”
“Am I?”
“Yes, you are.”
Instinctively holding your breath, you enclosed the measuring tape around So Mun’s chest with great caution, arduously ignoring how you could already tell his physique was too attractively in shape under that black compression shirt. Every time he inhaled and exhaled, the tape stretched ever so slightly then loosened after the relief— Fuck, okay, stop.
“Am I really delusional or are your hands shaking right there?”
This little shi– did not just call you out like that.
His voice vibrated down from the top of your head, bordering between intentional cockiness and unintentional flirtatiousness. You never discerned that your fingers had grown to tremor abstractedly due to how faint the movement was, yet he could easily detect your restlessness just from a few playful glimpses. Never in your life you felt this terribly exposed in front of someone. It was like he could see right through you like a piece of glass.
“You…” Shamefulness followed you like your own shadow. The immense heat on your cheeks was no longer pleasant to say the least: “Stop talking. Just let me get this done.”
On the other hand, So Mun, whether or not had progressed to be fond of your painfully flustered self, mindlessly dropped the ultimate bomb on you: “Do you like me?”
You swore you saw your heart fly out and wheel around the ceiling in horror.
If the tape measure wasn’t made of plastic, it would’ve been torn in half between your violent grip. You bit the inside of your cheek timidly and landed a weak punch on his shoulder. Agitation and embarrassment blanketed your half-whisper: “Just… be quiet, Mun.”
“Fine, fine, I was just joking. I’ve never seen you get this red before and…” So Mun laughed softly, though the laughter quickly dissolved into quietude as he caught a menacing glare from you: “Guess I got carried away, my bad.”
Speaking of the truth, he didn’t mean any harm rather than just breezy teasing. It was you and your hormonal, backstabbing blush that created the whole awkward situation. You shifted your ruler down and laced it around his waistline, half of the frustration in your tone replaced with sheepishness: “You sure did have a lot of fun, didn’t you?”
“But you’re so cute like this… ” His chuckle brightened the air. Even though you weren't in the mood to appreciate the random compliment, just the word “cute” itself was enough to awaken those dormant flowers in your stomach and rush them into vigorously blossoming like it was a sunny spring day.
You fought back a pout from arising, not sure if you should continue putting up an annoyed act. But before you could respond, your entire body froze as his voice suddenly appeared to be alarmingly close to your ear, tender like a passing cloud except it could facilely have you where he wanted if he ever wanted to.
“C’mon, don’t lower your head, I’ll stop pointing your blush out.”
Despite your concentration still being attached to his waist as you read the measured number, his toned abdominal muscles that somewhat divulged themselves under the thin compression shirt were nowhere near your zone of attention. Your nail dug into the tape, feeling your composure slowly fracture like a dainty little eggshell ready to be crushed. Timidity dispersed as uncontrollably as a broken dam when So Mun’s warm breath fanned your skin.
It didn’t seem like he had a single clue as to how his gesture—purely coming from curiosity—tremendously affected you. The more he dipped his head and leaned closer to yours, the louder you heard your own heartbeat roaring.
You turned away to hide how vulnerability had completely enveloped your face. A tiny crack echoed in your voice as you stuttered, trying to break free from his oblivious stare: “So– So Mun…”
“Hm?” The fire under your skin rapidly magnified within just a blink of an eye, to the point you were afraid it would explode, yet he still didn’t catch on to the silent plea in the way you called his name, instead taking it as a warning that you were getting exasperated: “Don’t be mad at me, I promise I’ll be quiet.”
Even the sketches and doodles hung on the wall avowedly held their breath as if acknowledging the hide-and-seek negotiation unfolding before them. You clutched your eyelids closed and your body stiffened, dodging his gaze like dodging bullets.
One sense had shut down, offering a chance for other senses to intensify. As So Mun leaned down searching for your face, the minty and earthy note of his shampoo washed over your nostrils, delightfully freshened from the vague men's cologne you smelled first stepping into the room.
His breath ignited on your awfully reddened ear, goosebumps traveling up your spine while his scent created an intoxicating merge into your source of oxygen: “Let me see your face, will you?”
Suddenly, pressing under your chin were warm fingers that had calloused up from life journeys, determined yet tender and careful enough not to startle you as he tried to lift your chin up:
“Come on, I don’t bite.”
“What takes you kiddos so lon— Oh my, are you two kissing?”
From the inside of So Mun’s room, you could already hear noises of flabbergastation ringing like afterschool bells due to the exclamation.
You and So Mun jumped away from each other like getting struck by electricity as soon as you saw Motak’s face appear behind the door’s window, amusement wafting in the way he looked at you two. You almost choked to death in your own panic, words collapsing when they reached your mouth: “It’s not what it looks like!! We’re just— We— I’m just taking his measurements!”
“Then why are your faces so close together?” Motak moved aside for you to storm out of the tension-filling room, raising his brows with great gaiety when So Mun followed your way out like a puppy. The tape measure was grasped brutally in your palm, hoping to be counted as evidence. But catching the wide grin that had seemingly been engraved on the older man’s lips, you doubted he’d buy your excuses.
“Wait, so you were about to kiss and I interrupted? Damn, sorry lovebirds.”
“No! It’s— we really did not…” Footsteps clouded the hallway, the whole team was quick to be summoned for the delicious tea. Out of the blue you lost all nerves to face them, your explanation slowly dissipated into a nonverbal ‘yes’ to the accusation with how much speechlessness you assembled.
Hana tilted her focus at your skin’s crimson tint, her hidden protectiveness loomed out of armor and she threateningly gave the origin of your blush a good nudge: “Yah So Mun-ah, why is Y/n’s face so red? What did you do to her?!”
Gazes launched over the man of the moment with suspicion, making him hold his hands up in defense: “What do you mean, noona? I swear I didn’t do anything!”
He turned to you for confirmation, but your exchange of looks was impeded when Ms. Chu walked over to wrap her motherly hands around you, cooing with adoration and happiness as if she'd just listened to your wedding vows: “Oh dear, I knew it from the start you two would make such a cute couple. I’m so happy for you my babies.”
You swallowed heavily: “But we’re not—”
“I can’t believe these two have made it this far, even faster than us…” The chairman ignored So Mun’s refuting head shake (as well as Ms. Chu’s side eye), giving both of you a thumbs up: “Right, Chu-yeosa?”
“Don’t bring me into this.”
From the other side, Jeokbong engulfed So Mun in a side hug and patted his back pridefully: “I’m proud of you, very proud, So Mun-ah. We raised you so well, even getting a girlfriend before your hyung.”
“Hyung, listen to me—”
“Our So Munie, I never knew you had that in you, hm? Now you punk got the team’s stylist all to yourself.” Your beloved found-fam didn’t give you any opportunities to prove yourself innocent. Motak elbowed So Mun playfully with a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. The more he talked, the more gasoline was poured into the flame of your embarrassment: “Anyone surely gets bolder near a pretty girl, right?”
Hana took a sip of her Milkis: “Isn’t it supposed to be the opposite?”
“Everyone, hold on a second.” You spoke up, almost sounding desperate: “ So Mun and I have nothing to do with each other, this is just a misunderstanding.”
Pausing shortly after your clarification, you looked over at him in search of a helping hand: “Right?”
“Huh– yeah, right. We… Y/n is right. Plus, we’ve only met not long ago, how can anything develop between us this quickly?” So Mun hastily nodded his head. Both of you took turns clearing up the affair:
“Exactly, he’s right.”
The hallway seemed to hold time in place, slowly absorbing your explanation as amused stares remained affixed to you and him.
The chairman quirked his eyebrows up: “So nothing, huh? More like nothing yet.”
“Let’s see how long you can keep denying.” You inwardly facepalmed yourself, your ears burning ferociously pink as Motak shot you a knowing smile. Levity once again suffused the air when you caught him leaning into Ms. Chu’s ear and whispering; both of them then snickered loud enough for you to hear: “I bet a month.”
“I’m serious, we’re not gonna—”
“Oh, did I say something?”
Hana casually waved her hand in dissent, not even attempting to stop a half-smile from permeating her gorgeous face: “I bet longer. Look at how much they already lost their cognition just from being in the same room, they’re hopeless.”
Jeokbong briskly chimed in: “Like how Ms. Chu and the chairman are?”
“What did you say?!”
Rambunctious laughter followed the sight of Ms. Chu smacking Jeokbong on the back. It was pure chaos, but not in a bad way.
A chuckle managed to slip through your lips. The awkwardness was no longer bothersome but rather narrowed down into a silly feeling in your chest. You cast a glance at your assumed partner, coincidentally locking eyes with one another as his attention had also rested on you since forever.
You spotted a trace of rosiness sprinted across So Mun’s cheeks, perhaps it had unwittingly blossomed when you were still committed to clearing up the dating scandal. And he smiled—one that was sheepish but sweet nonetheless, one that sent you into a hall of chaotically winging butterflies. Unspoken words lingered in the air, but you didn't mind them.
If luck would have it, this could be the start of something incredible. But that’s only the matter of the upcoming future, right now?
You just figured out you’ve deadass forgotten all of the measurements you took of So Mun…

Rei's Birthday Event: Spring date with Levi
Characters: Post war!Levi x Survey Corps fem!reader
Genre: SNK!canonverse
Warnings: SFW, fluff. Reader insert (y/n). SNK final season spoilers!!!! Some references to the canon events of snk (slight mentions of depressive episodes, mentions of death etc).
Word count: 3.6k
A/N: Thank you very much to my dear anon Victoria for the request!! I actually have two very similar spring time date requests, as such I decided to tweak this up a little. There will be mentions and references to canon events, but nothing angsty at all!!
I'm sorry this took so long to complete, and I'm still going through a bad writer's block lol but thank you to everyone for being so patient! I hope you all like this <3
Read the original request here.
"Levi Heichou!" You called out, excited to see your lover appear before you.
"Tch, I told you so many times before to drop the shitty title, we're no longer in the Corps anymore," Levi rolled his eye—his good one—as he approached you. His hair was neatly combed back, his fedora in his lap. Levi was wearing a simple white button shirt with black long pants. His hair had grown longer; his fringe now growing past his eye. You missed how he used to keep his hair short, but you loved how nice Levi looked with longer hair too.
You looked hard at Levi, studying every line and wrinkle you see, and the barely visible strands of grey on his ebony hair. Years of fighting on the front line had taken a toll on his body more than you liked, even though he claimed it didn't really affect him much since he had the Ackerman bloodline.
Although the war ended, you knew Levi still wasn't at peace. You could tell he was restless, he didn't like being cooped up at home. His eyes didn't seem to have life in them like they used to, and he just seemed so sluggish all the time. You knew Levi wasn't sleeping well too; sometimes the ache in his knee woke him up, and sometimes, it was the demons Levi were fighting in his head. Levi didn't say it, but you knew he missed the old life, the one where he spent half his life fighting for a cause he believed in, and now that he fulfilled his mission, his life felt aimless; he didn't know what to do, and what to continue living for.
It took you a long while to convince Levi to even agree to step out of the house and go on this picnic date, and deep down, you knew you had to make every minute out with him worthwhile.
"What are you staring at?" Levi's voice brought you back to the present, "thinking of something?"
"Nah, I'm just thinking of asking Mikasa to send me some of those pearl eye cream from Hizuru. You know, the one Lady Kiyomi sent her for her birthday?" you answered, bringing a pair of shoes and putting them on for Levi, "I heard they're good for reducing wrinkles, especially around the eyes."
Levi's eye narrowed. "Oi. Are you saying—"
"Did Big Sister y/n just call Uncle Levi old?!" A high pitched voice came from the kitchen, and you felt an impact around your midsection. A few moments later, a head of blonde hair appeared by your side too. "Big Sister y/n just said Uncle Levi has wri—"
"Gabi! Shush—" Falco covered Gabi's mouth while she tried to wiggle herself free. You giggled and glanced at Levi who was eyeing the three of you, and quickly tried to separate the younger ones.
"Oi. You brats. Ganging up on me now?" Levi crossed his arms, looking utterly displeased. Falco continued covering Gabi's mouth while she tried to stomp on his foot.
"Of course not, Levi, we wouldn't dare to offend our elders do we, kids?" You joked, earning another stare from Levi. Before he could say anything, you quickly ran into the kitchen with Gabi and Falco.
"Big Sister y/n!!! Did you see Uncle Levi's face when you talked about wrinkles?" Gabi laughed while Falco appeared with a picnic basket in tow.
"Shut up, Gabi! Uncle Levi and Big Sister are late for their date already, stop disturbing them!" Falco sighed and tried to pull Gabi away, "here, Big Sister, I hope you and Uncle Levi have lots of fun today!"
You nodded and waved the kids goodbye and went outside, looking again at Levi who still had his arms across his chest. Onyankopon was right behind Levi, giving you a smile.
"Come on brat, let's go." Levi rolled his eye again as you passed the picnic basket to Onyankopon. Pushing Levi's wheelchair, Onyankopon told you to wait by the pavement as he went to drive the car over.
"... do I really have wrinkles?" Levi muttered once Onyankopon left. You snorted and tried to hide it with a small cough.
"Hmm… well… I mean, uh… your crow's feet do seem to be… uh—"
"Fine. Enough." Onyankopon arrived and Levi dismissed you, clearly knowing the answer in his heart. You giggled as he came out to help Levi up into the car while you kept his wheelchair in the boot.
"The weather today is lovely," Onyankopon smiled as he began driving, "it's a good day to be out in the sun."
"And yet, she still does not want to tell me what we're doing today."
"You'll find out later." You chuckled again holding Levi's hand, watching the scenery outside pass by. You sought help from Onyankopon and the kids weeks ago to look for nice picnic spots in Marley. With the spring breeze flowing and the flowers blooming, you thought it would be a perfect opportunity to spend undisturbed time with Levi. You thought a change of scenery might do him some good too; to help him out of this depressive state. After another quarter, Onyankopon stopped the car near the park and went to take Levi's wheelchair out.
"I'll pick you two up at eight, is that okay, y/n?" You checked your watch and it was a little past four. You nodded your head and thanked Onyankopon before taking the picnic basket and another bag from the front seat. Placing the picnic basket on Levi's lap, you helped him put on his fedora and his eye patch before wheeling him ahead.
"So, are you going to tell me why we are here in this godforsaken place?" Levi questioned you again as you began pushing him on a stony path.
"I'm taking you out on a date, obviously." You teased him again as you suddenly pushed him faster, causing his fedora to nearly fly away. Levi tutted angrily and said you should never be allowed to push his wheelchair again.
A few moments later, you and Levi arrived at a shop offering bicycles for rent. You paid the shopkeeper some money and then he rode a quadricycle over. You took the picnic basket and bag from Levi's lap and placed it in the front seats of the quadricycle. Once more, Levi gave you a look of confusion.
"Well, up now, I rented this for the day," you gestured. Levi awkwardly looked away, subconsciously placing his hand on his bad knee and grimaced, knowing that you of all people should know how he wasn't like before. What were you thinking, making him cycle when you knew it was going to be hard for him?
"Come on, Levi, stop depending on that wheelchair. You have to prevent your knee from becoming worse, right?" You smiled encouragingly, offering your hand out. You had expected that Levi would be unhappy, but you likewise knew that you shouldn't treat him differently from before. Whether or not he was Levi Heichou of the Survey Corps, or now as Levi the war veteran, he was still Levi—the Levi you loved. Whether he had physical disabilities or not, Levi was still the man you want to spend the rest of eternity with. You didn't want to push him, you wanted Levi to get out of this self-pitying state himself. After a long while, Levi held your hand and pushed himself up from the wheelchair. Slowly but steadily, you guided Levi up on the seat of the quadricycle, placing his feet on the pedals.
"W-wait. What about the wheel—"
"Don't worry, sir, your item will be safely kept here." The shopkeeper kindly replied and Levi seemed to relax a little. It was hard trying to move around without the wheelchair, but maybe you were right. He should try to depend on it less. "We'll close at around 10pm, so please remember to come by before then." The both of you nodded and you took your seat on the left. Looking at Levi, you gave him another smile and asked if he was ready. You could see Levi massaging his knee again. Levi took a deep breath and sighed, telling you to start pedalling.
It was hard at first, but Levi gradually got used to the momentum again. The both of you kept your pace slow, taking your time to enjoy the scenery passing by, the sound of birds chirping, and the gentle rustling of leaves. The sun was obscured by the clouds and there wasn't much of a crowd as well. You saw Levi's face relax gradually, the crease on his forehead slowly disappearing. Levi seemed to be more at ease with paddling on the quadricycle as well. You smiled to yourself. Bringing Levi out was indeed doing him well.
"Are you doing okay?" You checked in with your lover, making sure he wasn't overexerting himself. After he gave you a nod, you pointed to a large shady tree about 200 metres away, telling Levi that it was the next stop. Reaching the tree, you told Levi to remain seated first.
"Are you up for a walk?"
"... Hah?"
"A walk, Levi. Let's go for a walk."
"N-no, I don't think I can—"
"We'll walk slowly. Forget about the walking stick. You don't need it, I'm here."
Levi looked hard at you, face remaining emotionless. The frown on Levi's face became more and more evident as the seconds passed. You continued to stare right into Levi's eye, your resolve unwavering. A few seconds later, Levi broke eye contact and sighed again before reaching out his hand towards your direction.
"You better not make me regret this," Levi muttered under his breath, "you're forcing a crippled man to walk when you jolly well know he can't." You rolled your eyes.
"First off, Levi"—you took his hand and slowly guided him down the quadricycle—"you're not crippled. Secondly, you walk fine. Thirdly, think of this as rehabilitation, hmm? And lastly, stop complaining like an old man." You stood on Levi's right side and interlocked your arm with his, making sure he wasn't putting too much pressure on his knee.
"Where are we going?"
"Not far. We're just going to that small pond over there," you pointed towards a pond just in front, "let's go and feed some ducks." Levi scoffed hearing you.
"As long as they keep their feathers and shit to themselves."
The walk to the small pond was slow but pleasant. The heat from the sun was warm against your skin, the scent of the earth was refreshing. Levi held on to his fedora as the wind blew gently, and the sound of the grass and gravel crunching underneath your feet was playing like a contrasting melody. Once you two reached the pond, you opened your sling bag and took out a slice of white bread. Levi raised his eyebrow slightly.
"These are stale bread from a week ago." You chuckled before tearing it into half, passing one to Levi. You further tore your half into more tiny pieces before throwing them little by little into the pond. Some of the ducks in the pond started waddling over. Several tortoises also popped their heads above the water. There were also fishes fighting amongst themselves for the last few pieces. Levi looked at you before tearing the bread in his hand, scattering them all across the pond. The fishes and ducks dispersed and finished all those pieces of bread within the next minute.
"Do you have more bread on you?" Levi asked as he finished scattering the last few pieces of bread in his hand. You laughed and took out a few more slices.
"Maybe we can go to the pier next time," you commented once those hungry birds finished all the bread in your bag, "we should try feeding the seagulls." Levi scoffed again and let you hold on to his elbow.
"Tch. And have them shit on our heads? No."
The both of you began walking back to the quadricycle. Reaching into another bag, you took out a small paper kite. Levi raised his eyebrow again.
"Do you like it? I had Gabi and Falco do it together with me." You smiled and flipped the kite over, letting Levi see the doodles they did. Levi smirked when he realised who the five blobs of colour drawn on the kite were. You held onto the string and passed Levi the kite, telling him to lift the kite above his head while you moved back.
"OKAY, LEVI, THROW THE KITE HIGH AFTER I COUNT TO THREE!" You shouted and Levi gave you the thumbs up. After counting to three, Levi threw the kite high and you jogged backwards, pulling the string up to get the kite into the sky. Releasing the string bit by bit, Levi slowly made his way to your side as the kite now started flying a short distance away. You gave Levi a smile and tied the string around the tree trunk before going to the quadricycle, taking out the picnic basket and setting the mat.
"Now… let's see what the kids made for our picnic." You rubbed your palms together excitedly and opened the basket. You took out a container of hot stew, some freshly baked sourdough bread, cheese, mushroom quiche, and a small container of fruits too. You arranged the food on the mat and took out the bowls, cutlery, and a few serviettes. Pouring some stew into the small bowl, you passed it to Levi's left before giving him the spoon.
"It seems pretty decent," Levi uttered as he took a spoonful of stew and eyed you, "are you sure they did it all on their own?" You ate some stew and nodded.
"Well, Onyankopon did give them pointers, and I was the one who gave them the recipes, but yeah. The kids made it all by themselves. Not bad, huh? Maybe we should let them open a small food stall along the streets." you took another few mouthfuls of stew, "it's time for them to contribute to the household finances." Levi tutted angrily instead.
"They're too young to be doing shit like that, you brat. Don't be ridiculous."
You giggled, cutting some mushroom quiche for Levi. "I'm joking. Of course I wouldn't let Falco and Gabi do something like that. " The crease on Levi's forehead disappeared again as he ate, passing you his bowl for more stew. Levi and you took your time savouring the good food prepared by the two kids. It was pretty decent, and indeed you were secretly thinking of letting them open a small food business once they are of age.
Once all the food was finished, you told Levi to pack everything fast. Bewildered, Levi didn't say anything, yet he wondered what you were up to again. You got Levi up onto the quadricycle again and told him that there was one place you wanted to bring him. Stopping the quadricycle, you helped Levi down and laced your arm around his again, walking him to some benches ahead. The park was located right next to the sea, and it was pretty empty, just the way you hoped.
"Come on," you muttered as you helped him down, walking towards the bench, "we're just in time."
"For what?"
"You'll see."
Taking your seats on the bench, you checked your watch before glancing ahead again, looking at the dispersing clouds. Before long, the sun started to set, painting the sky a beautiful hue of red, orange, and yellow. You could feel Levi let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, and you grabbed his hand, feeling your fingers interlock. The both of you continued to stare silently at the magnificent view ahead, watching the sun descend lower and lower, listening to the waves crashing on the shore, feeling the wind blowing against your skin. You could feel Levi's calloused fingers caressing your knuckles, and the familiarity tickled something in your memory.
"Brings back memories, huh, Heichou," you peeked at Levi, seeing him trying to hide a small smile as well, "we used to do this all the time." Levi hummed in agreement, keeping his eye on the sunset instead.
"I still think the view from the top of the walls were nicer though"—you let go of Levi's hand and stretched your hands—"it was higher, more windy, less obstruction, and more—"
"And more dangerous," Levi frowned as he interjected. You laughed once more, closing your eyes to feel the wind in your hair again. You thought back to the reason why you decided to bring Levi out today, and even though you knew it might make him unhappy, you also knew you had to talk to him about it. Minutes later, the sun had already gone below the horizon, and the sky was gradually getting darker as well. Soon, the lamps nearby slowly started lighting up.
"Say, Levi," you broke the silence once more and Levi hummed in acknowledgement again, "do you… miss the old days?"
"... why'd you ask?"
"I miss those days too, you know. I miss all our friends and comrades too. Every single one of them. Every day."
Levi didn't say a word. You guessed he was probably upset. Yet, you took a deep breath and decided to just tell him the words on your mind.
"I know it's not easy for you to, I don't know, adapt to a normal life again seeing how you've been in the Corps for nearly half your life. B-but, I just don't want to see you wallowing in self-pity, okay? It hurts me to see you like this.
"I don't care whether or not you have missing eyes and fingers, I don't care if you have to be in a wheelchair forever. I'll gladly feed your meals and bathe you, I'll wear your shoes for you and I'll push you wherever you want to go. We'll hunt around Marley to look for beautiful spots to watch the sunset and the stars. I love you for who you are, and that will never change. Falco and Gabi love their Uncle Levi too. So, j-just, don't give up, okay?"
"Who said anything about giving up?" Levi turned to you, a look of annoyance appeared on his face.
"W-well, I don't know, you're always looking so listless, and you're not eating and sleeping well. I haven't seen you smile in a long time. And once I saw you staring at the mirror looking like you're abo—"
"Hey, hey, stop it, okay? Stop worrying. I'm fine. Really." Levi held your hand and gave you a squeeze. "I'm fine. I'm dealing with it, okay? It's, it's j-just—I'm—"
"Shh. It's okay. I get it. I get you." you hushed him, gently holding him close. You didn't need to see Levi's face to know that he was probably going to tear up, a side of him that will never be seen by anyone else; anyone except you. "Everything will be alright, I promise you. I won't leave you. I'll be by your side."
The both of you remained in each other's embrace, letting your hug do the talking. Patting Levi's back rhythmically, you heard him let out a long sigh before pulling you even closer, tightening his grip around your waist as he buried his head in the crook of your shoulder. You didn't feel the need to ask Levi what he was thinking about, and likewise, Levi knew you wouldn't ask him about it. After a long while, Levi finally loosened his grip around you. The moon was hanging high in the sky and the wind was getting colder. The stars shone like little specks of glitter in the ink-coloured sky.
"Feeling better?"
"Y-yeah, better," Levi hastily wiped the remnants of tears from his cheek, "thank y-yo—
—you interrupted Levi mid-sentence with a soft kiss.
"I love you, Levi. Always remember that. Hmm? I mean it." you gave him another small smile before stroking his cheek, pressing another fleeting kiss on his chapped lips. Levi's larger hand cupped yours as he kissed you back, feeling like time around him stopped, and nothing else in the world mattered. The feeling of your lips on his, the coldness of your cheeks, the warmth from your body; they were real, and a reminder that he was still here, and he was still alive.
Levi broke the kiss first, struggling to find the right words to say while he looked at you. Chuckling, you gave him another smile and mouthed it's okay once more. Levi was never good with words and he was never a good talker, but it never bothered you anyway. Levi gave you an appreciative look while you looked at your watch.
"Come on, Levi. Let's get back to the bicycle shop."
Helping Levi on his feet, you guided him up the quadricycle and the both of you slowly cycled back to the shop. Thanking the shopkeeper for keeping Levi's wheelchair safe, you opened it and gestured to Levi to take his seat, yet Levi shook his head instead.
"Let's walk to the main entrance. There's still time, right?" Levi offered to hold the picnic basket and kite while another hand held your arm for support. You tried to hide your smile as you both walked, listening to the owls hooting in the far distance. Onyankopon's car was already waiting outside by the time you reached the entrance. Seeing Levi walking next to you, a wide smile broke across Onyankopon's face as well.
The journey back home was quiet, yet Levi felt like the weight had been finally lifted off his shoulders. You held on to Levi's hand as he laid on your shoulder, drifting somewhere between sleep and consciousness. Levi knew his road to recovery would not be an easy one. But with you by his side, it was like he found his wings of freedom once more. And for the first time in a long while, Levi went to sleep with a smile.
Disclaimer: This is my first time writing hurt/comfort so I understand if it sucks and there's no hurt or comfort at all LOL I prommie I'll do better for the rest of the requests 🥺

♡ your one and oni big himbo boyfriend ♡
-> headcanons of itto as your boyfriend!
arataki itto x fem!reader
You're a real trooper if you end up dating Itto because he's gonna become your big baby once you two are together. The ironic thing about this is that he'll often call you, "baby". But clearly, between the two of you, you know who the real baby is.
He's gonna be really handsy on you, not necessarily in a sexual way all the time. Whether it's having his hand on top of your head, around your waist, on your thigh, or especially having his hand in yours, he always wants to feel the warmth of your skin on his. It reassures him that you're there with him, for him, and that someone loves him. While he might boast that "everyone loves him" or that "if they don't love him already, they should", but with you, it's different. It's meaningful and most of all, true. And he knows that just as he's always gonna be there for you, so will you always be there for him.
He will also love using your chest as a pillow, no matter what size it is. The warmth and softness of it and hearing the sound of your heartbeat soothes him. Therefore, he'd love being the little spoon when cuddling despite how humongous he is. Just hold him tight and run your fingers through his silver hair as he nuzzles his face into your chest, and he will be the happiest oni in all of Teyvat. I told you he'd be a big baby.
On the other hand, he's gonna be all melodramatic whenever you get upset or angry with him (over something minor). He'll whine and cry to the other Arataki gang members like,
"AKIRA, WHAT DID I DO WHERE DID I GO WRONG?!?! WHY DOES Y/N HATE ME?!?!"
"Well, Boss...you did break her [favorite item] trying to catch that onikabuto..."
"IT HAD TO BE DONE, AKIRA!! SEE?! I STILL WON THE MATCH WITH THAT SPECIAL ONIKABUTO AND EVEN OFFERED TO SHARE MY REWARDS (aka snacks and candy) WITH HER. I DON'T KNOW WHY SHE'S STILL MAD"
"..."
"...I'd recommend saying sorry and getting her a new one...good luck, Boss"
Itto does try to make it up to you. He'll search all over the place to find an item that could replace the one he broke. He won't stop searching because he believes that you'll never forgive him if he doesn't find it. After enough searching and when you finally do forgive him, he'll pounce on you, suffocating you with the biggest hug while crying, "Y/N I'M SORRY!! I LOVE YOU"
Other than that, Itto will be your BIGGEST hype man, even if it's in the most annoying way. Any insecurities or low self-esteem that you have will have to perish when he's around. He's always boosting himself up, so why wouldn't he also boost up his woman? He's going to try to show you off to everyone. Like, he'd go out waving a picture of you to those on the street, saying "Have you seen this girl?" and whether they say yes or no, he'll then say, "Well now you have and your eyes have been blessed. Be grateful!"
Or even when you're fighting against some enemies and Itto is just cheering you on from the sidelines, he'll look to the other Arataki gang members and be like "LOOK AT HER!! LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL GIRLFRIEND!! ISN'T SHE SO BADASS?!" Poor Akira, Genta, and Mamoru have to endure this, "Yes, we know boss..."
You'll have to tell him to calm down, for their sake and your own because sometimes Itto will be putting too much of your business out there. When talking to strangers and you're right next to him, he'll suddenly go, "Anyway, did you know my girlfriend can [insert special activity] and do [insert other activity]? Isn't she amazing?! That's why she's mine, because amazing and amazing go well together", he'll grin.
a/n: tbh itto is so fun to write about! I absolutely love himbos, LOL. Anyway, I'll be writing some nsfw hcs of him as your boyfriend soon!

Warnings: None
Word Count: 2k+
Chapter 2 - Horseshoe Overlook
Part One Part Two Part Three
A/N: This one was more of a filler chapter because I wanted you, Arthur and John to spend time with each other and actually build a relationship but I PROMISE Sean x reader content is coming soon!!
Colter was getting colder by the second. Everyone was miserable. It's been a long, rough, cold week but finally, the gang made enough money from the Leviticus Cornwall train to get out and go towards some place Hosea called "Horseshoe Overlook." It was located towards Valentine near West Elizabeth. You, like Arthur, were very skeptical about how we would be "staying low" if we were going to be living a few miles from a town.
Kieran was hauled on the back of Whisky since Dutch didn't want him in the wagons with the women. You helped pack up the wagons and rode along side Dutch in the front. It was a long journey down the snowy mountains and you were already getting irritable and freezing. Micah was riding beside you, talking about something that you had no interest in but, like a good friend, you listened and tried to sound intrigued. You felt the sun bear down on your back and almost cried, you were finally out of the cold and into the warm spring. Dutch called Micah over and you heard Dutch telling him and Lenny to scout the area.
You were about to cross a river and cringed, Whisky was never good with rivers. You kicked your heels gently into her but she refused to cross. You groaned "Come on" you told her, patting the side of her neck "It's just water." She snorted and shook her head, getting agitated. You took a deep breath and Kieran spoke up "M-maybe I can help."
"How?" you ask, mounting off of her.
"Just untie me and I can-"
"No" you cut him off, shooting him a warning glare.
Kieran sighed, his attempt to escape was foiled, "But I really can help" he told you "I'm good with horses." You ignored him, taking Whisky's reins and leading her across the river, so you could show her there was nothing to be afraid of. Your boots and pants were soaking wet but she eventually calmed down and walked through the river. You were behind the other caravans so you dug your heels into Whiskey and made her gallop to catch up with them. You looked behind you to find that Arthur and Hosea weren't behind you but you knew they would catch up.
Kieran was quiet so you nudged his shoulder, which earned you a grumble. "Sorry" you smirked "Just seeing if you were alive." Kieran huffed. Dutch called you over so you made Whiskey trot over "Yeah?" you asked, looking up at him.
"How's the O'Driscoll boy doin?" he asked "Given ya any trouble?" you shook your head "Nope, we're all good" Dutch nodded "Once we get to this spot, I'm going to have Bill and Javier tie him to the nearest tree, maybe near where Pearson cooks the stew." he smirks, making Kieran shrink even more.
After riding for a few more miles you and the wagons stopped at a hillside. Horseshoe overlook was settled near a cliff and you mentally noted to tell Jack to stay away from it if none of us were around. You dismounted Whiskey and helped Miss Grimshaw and Pearson unpack. Bill and Javier took Kieran off Whiskey and tied him to where Pearson was already setting his "kitchen" up. You helped Karen and Tilly set up the tents and all three of you were getting annoyed at Miss Grimshaw's nagging. Pro of being Dutch's daughter, you don't have to do chores only if you want to, you're safe from Grimshaw's nagging, and you get your own tent. You sat on your cot, looking at the camp, watching everyone bustle around, trying to get everything set up. Arthur pulled up and, you went to go greet him and Hosea.
"You weren't wrong Hosea" Dutch said "This place is perfect."
"Let's hope so" Hosea told him, getting off of the wagon.
"Gentlemen" Dutch announced, mostly to Arthur and Hosea "We have survived." Hosea let out a sigh "For now" Dutch ignored him and continued "Now, it is time to prosper."
"Arthur and I were about to prosper in Blackwater, something big. Until Micah got you excited about that ferry and here we are." Hosea grumbled. "We have all made mistakes over the years, Hosea" Dutch told him in a tone of voice that advised him to stop talking "Every last one of us" he continued "But I kept us together, and some day, (y/n), will carry us on. The Van der Linde gang isn't going any where for a long time." Your froze at his comment about you and glanced away.
Dutch walked away and Hosea, you and Arthur following him. "I guess I'm just worried. I ain't got that long Dutch, I just want people safe before I'm gone." you gave Arthur a confused glance at Hosea's comment 'Ain't got long?' you wondered 'What does he mean?'
"And now we're stuck! East of the Grizzlies, and out of money." you tuned out whatever left he said but followed them once they started moving. During Dutch's speech to the gang he mentioned that it was time for everyone to earn their keep and that whatever we find, the camp gets its slice. Hosea also mentioned a town called Valentine might have work and jobs we could pick up so you thought about going by there maybe this week but now all you wanted to do was relax.
----
Two weeks passed and you were starting to get comfortable with living near Horseshoe Overlook. Things were going fine, no one was causing trouble, you and Dutch started hanging out a bit more, life was peaceful.
Until Mary Beth, Tilly, and Karen, forced you to come to Valentine with them. You sat next to Tilly in the wagon as Arthur and Uncle sat up front. "Why'd you want me to come anyways?" you ask them "Why?" Tilly repeated "Because you're our friend" she nudged you with her shoulder "And besides, you looked lonely sitting there" Mary Beth teased. You shrugged "I like being alone."
Arthur chuckled "Really?" he asked "Really" you said "That's not how you used to be" he laughed "You used to beg one of us to stay with you everyday." You glared at him, your cheeks turning red in embarrassment "Well, I don't anymore." Arthur left you alone and the girls started singing. You could see the little town of Valentine and you thought of all the things you could do. Probably get some more food for Whisky, maybe a new bridal too. The wagon abruptly stopped and you looked around to see a horse running away from a man and his own wagon. "Is one of you gonna get that fellers horse?" Tilly asked, Uncle turned around and said "I got lumbago, it's very serious!" Arthur grumbled but got out "Lumbago...really" he repeated under his breath.
"So, what are you gonna do when we get there?" Mary Beth asked you. You shrugged "I dunno yet, Whisky needs some more food and I was thinking about getting her a new bridal." Mary Beth giggled "I swear you care more about that horse than yourself." You give her a smile "Of course I do, I raised her from a foal." you told her "Really?" Karen asked "I just assumed Dutch or Hosea gave her to you." You shake your head "Nah, me and Hosea were out riding on day, I was only thirteen at the time and we stumbled upon a mare that recently foaled, we found that the mare was mauled by something and there she was, all scared and skinny, it was a miracle she wasn't dead yet."
"Oh, I remember" Tilly piped up "You made Hosea carry her all the way back to camp" she laughed "Yeah, I did" you laughed with her "How did Whisky survive without a mare?" Karen asked "I made Arthur and John steal one, apparently her foal died and the farmer was going to kill her anyways" you explained. Arthur came back and started guiding the wagon into Valentine. The scent of the sheep made you gag but you got used to it once he parked near the stables. You and the girls got off the wagon "So, you wanna head into the saloon with us or do your own thing?" Karen asked "I think I'll go with y'all." you said, trying to not get any mud to seep into your boots.
Squelch
Squelch
Squelch
The mud made that noise the entire time you and the girls were walking to the saloon. You were disgusted, mud was not your thing, so you made sure to scrub your pants extra hard during washing. You walked into the saloon, the girls at your side, it was small but a normal sized saloon for a small town. You never drank, you couldn't see the appeal. But one drink wouldn't hurt, right? Karen bought you all a beer and as you tipped the glass to your lips you were pulled into someone's chest.
"What'sa purdy lady like you doin in a bar all alone?" a voice, a man, asked, his voice slurred. You cringed, and looked around for help. Tilly, Karen or Mary Beth were all no where to be found. You push his shoulder away and take a step back. The man gave you a mocking pout "Aw, come on darlin" he said, taking a step closer to you, your beer was on the counter so you picked it up and slammed it into his head, making him fall to the floor, bystanders watched, but went back to their drinking, like a woman beating a man was the most normal thing in the world. Before you left, you dug into his satchel and stealthily grabbed the rest of the money he had and put it in your own.
You quickly made your way out of the saloon and outside before anyone could say anything. Arthur and Uncle were no where to be found so you crossed over towards the stables and walked in. You were greeted by an older guy who showed you the bridles he carried after you asked. You looked over them and chose a brown one, it was fairly cheep but it would work.
You spotted Arthur and Uncle outside, Mary Beth was speaking to them. You made your way over to them and Arthur gave you a smile "New bridle?" You nodded "Yeah, I figured Whisky deserved something new." You looked around, Tilly and Karen was no where near.
"Where's Tilly and Karen?" you ask, Mary Beth shrugged "I think at the hotel, they picked up some drunken fellers that they was gonna rob." Arthur's eyes narrowed "Why?" he asked, his voice rough "Seemed easy" Mary Beth told him "They have been gone for quite a while." Arthur sighed and he got up from the bench "I'll guess I'll go see if there's any trouble." Mary Beth pointed across from us "Oh, there's Tilly over there" her eyes narrowed at a man grabbing Tilly's arm and forcing her to come with him. "That doesn't look ideal..." Mary Beth mumbled "Excuse me" Arthur said, a growl laced in his voice. He walked off the general store porch and went over to them. Tilly was backed against a wall and Arthur pulled the man off of her. Arthur said something you couldn't hear but the man backed off and Tilly hurried over to us.
"Imma go check with Karen at the hotel!" Arthur said, going inside.
"You okay?" you asked Tilly, noticing how shaken up she looked "Fine" she told you, giving you a small smile. Arthur came back a few moments later with Karen, her lip busted "Are you okay?" Tilly asked "Yeah, he only punched me, Arthur punched him a lot harder" she said, rubbing her cheek. A man stopped on his horse a few feet away from us "Hey, why does that guy keep looking at us?" Mary Beth pointed out.
"Weren't you in Blackwater a few weeks back?" the guy asked, pointing to Arthur. Tilly pushed you behind her incase something happened "Me? No, ain't from there" Arthur replied "Oh, you were. I defiantly saw you, with a bunch of fellers." the man told him, clenching on his horse reins. "Listen buddy, come here for a second" Arthur walked over to him. "I saw you" the man said, making his horse run after Arthur told him to "Come here" again "I don't like this" Uncle told him "Me neither" Arthur ran to a horse and mounted him "Take the girls home, I'm going to have a chat with our friend." Arthur ran off and we gathered into the wagon.
Uncle stopped the wagon and we got off. You walked over to Whisky, took her old worn down bridle off and put her new one on. "Isn't that one much more better?" you ask her and she gave you a snort in response. You smiled and stroked her snout, she nuzzled into your hand and you chuckled "Aw, you're a good horse, Whisky."
After your bonding moment with Whiskey, Hosea smiled as you walked over to him "How are you doing (y/n)?" he asked as you sat next to him "Good" you say "How're you?" Hosea chuckled "Oh you know, little bit of reading here, little bit of reading there." you smiled at him "How's Jack doing with reading? I know you've been teaching him." Hosea sighed "Trying to teach him. The boy's smart but he just doesn't want to try."
"Like John" you joked "Exactly like John" Hosea agreed. You both laughed and Arthur came back, he looked stressed, he probably was knowing that someone from Blackwater knows he's here. The sun was setting as you and Hosea kept talking, mostly about you and when you were younger. "Remember that time when you and John were about 12 and 20 and got into a huge argument about something" you rolled your eyes "Yes, I do. I think it was about who was going to go with Arthur into town that day, but in the end he just went alone" you laughed "Gosh, John was really upset, he wouldn't talk to me all week until Dutch told him to get over it."
After your long conversation, Hosea left and something crossed your mind, it's been at least two weeks and Micah and Lenny still weren't back. You figured they'll be fine, Micah was strong and Lenny had a good head on his shoulders. You got up and walked over to where most of everyone was, Arthur greeted you with a grunt as you sat beside him and Javier was playing his guitar a few feet away.
"Did you talk to that man that recognized you?" you asked him in a hushed voice. Arthur nodded "Yep, he won't be talkin." You nodded "Good. I'm getting worried" you admit "About what?" Arthur asked "About Sean and Mac, we don't know if their dead or not." Arthur let out a grunt "They'll be okay, I think Trelawny has a lead." you nodded "Good, the faster we know where they are the better."
"Why're you so worried about Sean anyways?" he asked, your cheeks turned red "No reason" you shrug "Oh, I think I know what this is about" he teases "I don't know what you're talking about" you said, looking away from him "He's a good kid, I see why you like him, but isn't he a little too old for you?" Arthur asked, you were about to say "no" when John's voice made you jump "Is who too old for her?" he asked, sitting beside you "Sean" Arthur told him, taking a bottle out of John's hand "You like Sean?" John asked you, his voice had a lace of disapproval. You groaned "No, I don't." Arthur chuckled "She does" he laughed, trying to rile you up "Look at her face." John sighed "You're too young to be dating anyways."
"Is that what you're gonna say when I'm older?" you asked him "Yep, you're not gonna be dating till me, Dutch, Arthur and Hosea has long passed on" John said, pulling you closer to him and rubbing your head with his fist "Let me go!" you laughed, John chuckled and Arthur rolled his eyes at your and John's display. John let you go after a few more rubs and you grumbled, trying to get your hair like it was. You leaned into Arthur's shoulder, the fire warming your body, you missed moments like these. Even though you weren't blood related, John and Arthur were your brothers and you loved them.
You could feel your eyes growing heavy, your body soothed by Javier singing and Arthur and John talking. You felt someone pick you up and set you down on your cot. Arthur pulled your blanket over you and ruffled your head "Love ya, kid" you heard him say before you fell asleep.

this is my first time asking on Tumblr, so I don't know if I'm doing this right sorry 😔. Can I ask for the mk11 cast reacting to a fem reader that has the same power as Enoch from miss peregrine's home for peculiar children? And she's also really lonely, so she creates the toys to not be alone. If you can't it's okay, thanks!
This is my longest request so far and it’s been in my asks for 3-4 days! I need to finish this rn.
MK11 Liu Kang, Fujin, Kitana, Jade, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kano and kotal Kahn reacting to reader who is Enoch from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Pelicular Children.
theme: fluff, headcannons
warnings: mentions of dead bodies, killing, and bloody hearts.
Liu Kang
Liu Kang would be a bit hostile to you due to your personality but when he discovers your honestly want to (try to) do good, he eases up a bit.
Liu Kang is interested in your abilities; how your able to power a non loving thing.
That is, until he discovers you have to use a living things heart.. though, you may use mice/rat hearts or pigeon hearts..
He is amazed that the dolls actually work when you put the hearts inside. (Just to mess with you, you sometimes make the dolls fight him.)
Fujin
Fujin thinks your an interesting mortal. Despite your cold personality, he is calm with you.
He asked what your hobby is and you said stealing peoples hearts… “pardon me?” “I said I make dolls.” “Ah.. okay..”
Fujin pretends to not hear the first thing you said and asks what type of dolls you make. You disregard his question and say you make dolls. You ask him if he wants to see you make it and he says yes.
You make the dolls and they are kind of.. disturbing but Fujin doesn’t say anything about it. Fujin is about to ask why you make the dolls when he suddenly sees you hold a mini mice heart.
He asks why your holding a heart and you don’t say anything. You put the heart in the doll and it suddenly starts moving. You whisper some things to it and you give it a biscuit. It holds the biscuit and walks towards Fujin. It hands Fujin the biscuit.
He is surprised but grabs the biscuit.. he asks if you use hearts to power the doll and you look at him and ask if he did not just see what you just did.
… He doesn’t say anything but he is interested in your powers.
Kitana/Jade
For some context, you wanted to 𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠 Jade’s heart for your medium sized doll. You made a conclusion that her heart is healthy and full of delicious blood. When she pinned you down, she asked you why you attacked her and you said you wanted to 𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠 her heart and you would give it back.. safe to say, she was shook.
Jade took you to Kitana Khan for punishment. Kitana asked Jade what you did and Jade recited what happened..
Kitana is shook as well.
Kitana decided to spare you so she can see what dolls you make and why they need hearts. Fast forward Kitana, Jade and you are all sitting on a chair by the table and your making a small doll.
Beforehand, Jade caught a rat and you dissected it’s heart. You use tweezers to pick up the heart and you insert it in the back of the dolls body. The doll comes to life and you give it a knife.. you whisper to it and you lean back.
The doll attacks Jade and Kitana.. and they fend off it. After they defeat the mini doll (which was suprisingly hard to do so) they go to confront you but..
your already gone.
Raiden
Raiden felt a disturbance in Earthrealm so he went to investigate it. After a while of searching, he found you, discerning some unfortunate human dead body. Raiden quickly sends a lighting bolt at you and you quickly move at the way.
Then, you calmly go back to what you were doing. Raiden is part of the shook gang. He sends another lighting bolt at you and you move out the way again, before walking to the body and ripping the heart out. Raiden thinks you’ve killed the person so you two engage in combat..
Whilst in combat, you quickly insert the heart into the doll and it comes to life, which makes Raiden pause in shock. (😭) The doll attacks Raiden and he fights the doll.. Raiden destroys the doll and you call him out for destroying your property.. He asks you why you needed the human heart and you said it’s for your dolls.
Raiden asks if your good or bad and you say you aren’t neither. Raiden suggests you join him to defend Earthrealm and you decide to do so.
Perhaps you’ll get more hearts this way! And more hearts equal more friends.
Kung Lao
Kung Lao has already known you for a while. (Honestly, I have no idea how to write how y’all meet so.. you just did lmao)
Kung Lao knows that your able to make dolls but at the cost of a livings things heart. He often asks you to make training dolls when he sees your bored.
It’s very enjoyable to see Kung Lao get beat by some dolls. Sometimes, you make a separate doll and you both bet who’s going to win.
Or, you tell your doll to go extra hard on Kung Lao.. for the frost time in a while, you and your doll literally laugh y’all’s ass off seeing Kung Lao get terribly beat.. (poor him)
Kung Lao cannot lie.. your laughter is kind of dry.. so he slightly cringes when he hears it but he would say anything. (He knows if he were to mention it, he would get jumped by your dolls)
Kano
Kano would definitely want you to make a doll army for him. He would make his men kill about 100+ people so you could take their hearts out and use it to power your dolls.
Although, you are a bit harsh on Kano, saying that you’ll do it if he gives you the amount of money you want. He asks how many money you want.. and you say “only 10 million.. per doll made.”
Aha, Kano choked on his spit. “How about $500,000 for all the dolls?” “No. I want 10 million dollars. If you cannot supply this, I will not make the dolls.”
Now, Kano has to somehow find 200 million dollars. He should be fine. I mean, he is the leader of the Black Dragon. It shouldn’t be difficult.
…
When Kano does give you the 200 million, you tell him that he has to give you $2000 as a late fee. Kano, a bit frustrated with you being a damn hustler, gives the $2000.
You make all the dolls and afterwards you bury the bodies.
(Only thing you didn’t tell Kano was that you made the dolls weak.. so basically, you just robbed him 💀)
Kotal Khan
Like Kano, Kayak Khan may ask you to make some dolls.
Since Kayak is a.. lion? or tiger, err whatever, he would bring you bodies of killers or thief’s.
You would be a bit mad with Kayak because he would often bite down on them a little to hard.. the heart has holes in it.
Kayak is intrigued by your ability to make living dolls from a heart.
(In a AU (alternate universe,) you took Mileena’s plush and put a heart in it. You made it pretend to be dead and when Mileena let her guard down, the plushie attacked Mileena and killed her)
FINALLY! Goodness gracious.. I finally finished 😭 I have three more requests to do. Perhaps I should stick to only three people or break it up into parts. I hope you enjoyed this!

Word count: 673
Ninjago - Zane Patches You Up
Vines and branches whipped at your limbs as you barreled through the brush, but luckily your gi was thick enough to prevent you from sustaining any scratches. You were in hot pursuit of a gang of thieves. They had just stolen a valuable magic artifact from its tomb, an artifact that you would prefer to have in your own hands.
“Don’t they know how dangerous that thing is?” You panted, frustration obvious in your tone.
“If they did, I doubt they’d have stolen it,” Zane replied from behind you. You managed a sardonic laugh.
You nearly fell flat on your face when the thick vegetation opened up suddenly to an angled river bank composed of rocks. Your foot slipped a few inches as a rock tumbled away from under it, but you caught yourself easily and continued running.
The thieves were hauling themselves into a boat when you pounced on them. You seized an oar and swung, knocking out the one who held the artifact. It fell into the boat with his unconscious body.
You lunged for the artifact, tumbling into the boat desperately with arms outstretched. You leapt up with the artifact—a little gold statuette—held high above your head. “Guys! I got it!”
“Excellent work, Y/n!” Zane appraised you, clapping his hands together.
Your cheeks went flushed pink as you beamed at him. For one crucial moment you forgot about the other two thieves in the boat with you.
One of them tackled you from behind, sending you sprawling onto the rocky bank.
“Y/n!” You heard several voices cry out.
You felt a sharp pain shoot up your arm as a particularly jagged rock sliced your skin. The artifact was no longer in your hands.
You felt woozy. You had also hit your head when you fell. Trying to stand up but failing, you fell again. Suddenly you felt a strong body next to your own, helping you limp along to the tree line, out of the way of the ongoing tussle.
The world stopped spinning at last, and you looked to your side to see Zane hunched over your wounded arm. Zane. Of course. He was never far, even when you were in the midst of a battle.
“Is it bad?”
As if in response, a horrible pain shot through you at the slightest touch. Even Zane winced as he watched you recoil.
“You’ll live,” he said after spending a moment staring at the wound. He reached for his first aid kit.
“I can do it,” you offer, holding out your hand. Zane shook his head with a little smile.
“Please. Let me.”
You sighed, reclining a little against the tree and letting him get to work.
“This will sting,” he warned you, wetting a cotton ball with disinfectant. You gritted your teeth as the cold ball dabbed against your tender skin, and you hissed audibly when it suddenly began to burn.
“Sorry,” Zane murmured, trying to move quickly to prolong the pain no longer than needed.
“It’s okay,” you said in a strained voice. You relaxed a bit when he finally discarded the cotton ball. “My fault for getting banged up in the first place. Guess I’m just facing the consequences.” You laughed dryly.
Zane cocked his head. “Was the pain of getting hurt in the first place not the ‘consequence’?”
You shrugged. He had a point, but you were really just trying to cope here. Even with the sting of the disinfectant gone, the wound still hurt like a cow.
The pain eased a little when Zane tenderly wrapped soft gauze around it, fastening the dressing in a little bow. He patted your arm comfortingly. “All patched up, my love.”
“Great,” you grinned, springing to your feet. “Back to battle!”
Zane tried to protest, but you were halfway down the bank already, seamlessly inserting yourself into a struggle between Kai and one of the thieves. With a little sigh he watched you go, an unusual smile making its way onto his lips.
“Y/n, you wild creature.”
Thank you for your request, and thank you for reading! Have a good one lovelies <33

i don't regret it one bit, 'cause he had it coming
Song- I Did Something Bad by Taylor Swift
Pairing- ethan hunt x female!reader
Warning(s)- Major character murder, knife/dagger, throat slitting, allusions of smut
Wordcount- 1,226
Summary- The gang (minus Elsa) go on a mission to retrieve classified and crucial information and the night ends with a twist.
“Remember your mission,” I rolled my eyes as I heard the voice coming from my ear piece. “Don’t get distracted.”
“Since when have I gotten distracted?” I smirked as I entered the building.
“Knowing you, from time to time,” I could hear him smirk. “Remember to keep the eye on the target.”
Grabbing a champagne flute off of one of the trays, I looked through the crowd to find my partner. Giving some smiles and having small talk with some heads of state, I looked up to see him looking at me over the balcony. Sending him a little wink, I excused myself and headed up to where he was.
“Well, don’t you look dashing in that suit Mr. Hunt,” I greeted him.
“Ah Ms. L/N, that dress looks marvelous on you.” He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it before whispering in my ear. “It would be better if it was on the floor of our hotel room.”
“You sure do know how to charm a woman,” I smirked.
“I would really appreciate it if you guys kept the bedroom talk you know, in the bedroom,” Benji said in our ears.
“Come on Benji, we’re just having some fun,” Ethan joked as he grabbed another champagne flute for me.
“You two are insufferable,” Benji puked as we heard Luther’s chuckling. “Please can we just get the files and leave before we’re in Fifty Shades of Hunt.”
“Fifty Shades of Hunt,” I smirked and winked at Ethan. “I like it.”
“The senator’s coming in,” Luther interrupted us before we could go any further.
“On it,” I replied.
Walking down the steps of the museum, I kept an eye on the senator as he walked through the crowd. As I got closer to him, I pretended not to pay attention and stumbled my footing so I could crash into him, spilling my drink onto him.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” I frantically apologized. “I’m so clumsy. I should’ve watched where I was going.”
“It’s fine,” the senator gave me a flirtatious smile. “Any woman as attractive as you can bump into me at any time.”
“I’ll take you up on that offer if I see you again,” I winked at him and made eye contact with Ethan who signaled that he got the drive. “I’ll see you around.”
Walking away from him, I walked through the crowd again and headed over to where Ethan and I planned to rendezvous. Away from the crowd, I walked down the hall and opened the closet door to see Ethan waiting for me. Giving me the drive, I opened my clutch and turned it on so I could import the files. Inserting the usb into the port, I typed away as the files loaded.
“Guys, you better hurry up,” Benji told us. “Someone’s coming.”
“Almost done Benji,” I looked at the progress on my screen. “Okay done.”
Taking the usb out, I handed it back to Ethan and we walked out of the closet. Seeing someone down the hall, I placed my back against the wall as I hid my face in the crook of his neck as I fake laughed at what he said. Keeping an eye out on the person, we left our position as they disappeared. Walking back into the main room, Ethan and I headed our separate ways as Ethan tried to find the senator.
“Are you sure you want another glass?” I heard the senator behind me as I grabbed a glass of champagne. “I’m pretty sure that you tripped into me while holding a glass like that in your hand.”
“I promise it won’t happen again,” I chuckled as I finished my glass. “So senator, what brings you here? Aren’t you supposed to get cozy with some potential campaign sponsors?”
“I was but the most attractive woman has been running in my mind,” he smirked.
“You say that to every woman, don’t you?” I questioned.
“Only the attractive ones,” he winked. “So, mind sharing a dance with me?”
“Lead me to the dance floor,” I linked arms with him and headed straight to the dance floor.
The live band played some jazz as we got to the dance floor. He wrapped his arm around my waist while the other was intertwined with my hand. We swayed along to the music while I slipped the usb drive into his coat. As we danced, I felt Ethan’s gaze as he watched us.
“Well, as much as I want to enjoy more of this, I sadly have to head out,” I looked at the politician.
“How disappointing,” he sighed. “Hopefully we meet again?”
“I sure hope so,” I smiled and walked away from him.
Leaving the building, I met up with Ethan and saw the car pull up. Giving the valet worker a tip, we got into the car and drove back to the hotel we’re staying in. Parking the car, we walked into the hotel and headed up to the level where everyone else was. As we got into the elevator, Ethan started to place kisses along my neck while his hand ran down my waist and leg.
“Be patient,” I told him as we reached our level.
Reaching everyone else’s room, I inserted the roomkey and we walked in.
“Alright, you know what to do with this right?” I tossed the flash drive to Benji.
“No I don’t,” he sarcastically replied as I let out a chuckle.
“Is that it?” Ethan asked, slightly eagerly.
“Well actual-” Luther was interrupted.
“That’s it? Great!” I let out a laugh as Ethan grabbed me by the arm and dragged me out of the room.
Dragging me down the hallway to our room, I opened the door and was met with a hungry kiss from him. Breaking the kiss, I told him to get ready while I prepared myself. Walking into the bathroom, I took off my dress revealing the matching red lace lingerie set and retouched my lipstick. Heading out of the bathroom, I walked behind Ethan who was opening a bottle of wine.
“Getting drunk aren’t we?” I wrapped my arms around his body.
“Oh god damn,” he whistled as he turned and saw me. “Why don’t we skip the wine and head straight to the bed.”
“I like your thinking.” I let out a laugh as he picked me up.
Placing me down on the bed, I started to unbutton Ethan’s shirt as we continued to kiss. Flipping me over on the bed making me on top of him, I placed one last kiss on him. Moving away from him, I started to see him struggle and got off from the bed. Reaching under the bed, I grabbed the dagger and placed it against his throat as he continued to asphyxiate.
“Sorry my love,” I whispered as I slit his throat.
Seeing no struggle anymore, I cleaned the blade and got dressed before leaving the hotel room. Walking down the streets of Belarus, I walked into the building and headed up the elevator. Knocked on the door and waited for them to answer.
“Is it done?” He asked.
“You better have already sent the double,” I handed him the flashdrive.
“Good girl,” he kissed him.
“You better take me to bed senator.” I walked into the room more
“Was already planning on it.”

Scaredy...Fish?
((Yeah that title is really bad I am sorry.))
Gang Orca x (F) Reader
Summary: You are watching a horror movie with your lovely boyfriend, the man voted as one of the scariest heroes, whose menacing steely gaze is enough to make anyone turn skittish, or perhaps weak at the knees depending on what you’re into. Anyways, he insisted on letting you pick the movie! Being the gentleman that he is of course but... didn’t have the courage to say that he is terrified of horror movies.
TW: Gonna describe some fairly nightmarish and graphic scenes from the horror movie, so brace yourself for some body horror, Evil Dead kinda stuff.
((You know, I have never actually seen that movie...One of my sisters traumatized me with the trailer when I was a kid, and I never watched it lol. I like the grudge personally.))
(--) Insert name
---
The lights were low, and there was a fresh pizza on the coffee table. She grinned, pouring glasses of ginger ale. “Alright, you picked the movie last night but I’m not sure what to put on.” (--) screwed the lid back on and dashed to the kitchen. “Would you like to pick another? I enjoyed that movie about the boxer you put on last time!” Kugo stretched on the couch, thankful to have taken off his heavy costume. He stood, grabbing them some paper towels and offering a small kiss on (--)’s cheek.
“I honestly can’t think of anything either...I did want to watch something though, I think we’ve run out of puzzles...” He added as he thought to himself. (--) puffed her cheeks in thought, then felt her heart skip a little.
“Well...Midnight did tell me about this one movie...” Kugo rolled his eyes a little, sipping some water.
“I am not watching Fifty Shades of Grey.” He muttered, “Those movies are so distasteful...” (--) smirked.
“Oh my gosh no! Goodness no, here...” She opened her purse. The cover was dark, with a pale faced figure that had bleeding eyes. Her memories flashed back to the office. “Midnight, I love our dates but...I dunno, I wanna shake things up a little.” She sighed. “Kugo has so much pressure from work, and I know the polls in the media bother him more than he lets on...” She cupped her face, leaning on her desk. “I think he’s scared of scaring me...he never tries to surprise kiss me, and he almost walks on eggshells...” Midnight smirked.
“I can think of a few things that may spice things up...” She laughed, smacking Midnight on the shoulder.
“Please...” Midnight waved her hand.
“Sorry, choice of words I meant nothing like that.” Midnight pulled out a DVD. (--) raised her brows.
“Woah, vintage!” She shrugged.
“It’s the only way to watch it, this is a classic! You know...classic like the rom com trope, put on the scary movie, you cling onto him, he sees that he is your safe place and he gets all cozy, protecting his precious little baby boo.” (--) Took the DVD, her face burning.
“I am mad cause I know that would work...” She mumbled. “I’ll let you know how it goes and...why did you even have that!?” Midnight shrugged.
“Borrowing it from Hizashi...don’t lose it he’ll kill me, he’s a HUGE horror movie buff.”
Kugo pretended to be reading the back of the case but sweat was forming along his forehead. “Who on earth would want to watch this?” The box itself seemed to have a dark aura. He looked up at (--) She was smiling putting together the napkins. There was a soft blush to her cheeks, her eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement. She would be so put off if he suggested something lame like Lady in the Tramp or Ponyo...besides, it was her turn to pick. Kugo smiled, forcing a small laugh that he hoped sounded real. “Sure! These things are usually pretty cheesy aren’t they? It could be fun!” (--) grinned from ear to ear.
“Okay! Let’s pop it in then!”
The scene had low lighting, but the screen seemed to be a porthole in the dark room. (--) Exhaled, the movie was only a half hour in and she was already starting to get bored. Some blood, some eerie pianos and flashes of a grotesque figure. “I’m surprised Mic likes these...” She thought, tossing some popcorn in her mouth. However, she slowly leaned back into Kugo, smiling. “You’re the best part of this I think...I’ll pick a better movie next time.” She looked up, wondering why Kugo wasn’t saying anything, he almost seemed to be in a trance.
The heroine on the screen was barefoot, her nightgown swaying as she walked across the hardwood floors. Whispers seemed to mingle with the creaking floorboards, there was a sudden high pitched eerie cry that made Kugo tense up. (--) placed a gentle hand on his thigh, looking up with concern.
The young woman was suddenly thrown up, and her head was thrown back. Her screams were inhuman, her jaw opening wider and wider until her screams were complimented with the loud cracking of bones. They saw nothing but showers of blood fall to the floor, staining her nightdress and soaking her feet that were desperately kicking the air, her sobs and cries muffled as she choked on her own blood. The rest of her was offscreen.
Her body was then suddenly dropped, and Kugo shut his eyes, his stomach felt sick. He only saw her for a flash of a second but it was more than enough to see what had been done. He was shaking. “Just...” Kugo slowly covered his eyes, equal parts embarrassed and horrified, “Please just tell me when it’s over...” (--) immediately paused as another woman came across the body and screamed.
“Kugo...oh honey, are you okay?” She asked softly, resting on her knees as she held him close. Despite the fact that it was beating a mile a minute he could still feel it sink. This was completely humiliating. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know that you don’t like horror movies...” Kugo gripped onto her arm, stroking her soft skin with his thumb.
“I...I guess, I don’t like seeing such senseless violence...especially when it looks so real like that...” He muttered, “they...well...people watch this for entertainment!?” He asked. (--) Stroked his head. “That was horrible...” (--)’s stomach twisted with guilt.
“I’m so sorry, I thought I would be the one that would be scared to be honest...” Kugo looked up and smirked a little.
“What? You mean to tell me that you wanted to cuddle up to your big strong boyfriend so you could scare yourself senseless and feel...” His voice trailed off a little. “Protected...” (--) could feel her face burning.
“Yes...but more than that...” She grabbed a cushion, hugging it to her chest. “I wanted you to know...that you are my hero, you are someone that makes me feel safe, and I love you for who you are Kugo.” She looked up at him with a dejected sigh, smiling as she held his face. “No matter what the magazines or stupid polls say...” Kugo felt her heart skip a beat.
“I...” He took a hold of her hands. “I admit...the fact that I am so intimidating to so many...” He gazed into her eyes. “Has made me worried that it would rub off on you...” Kugo took a deep breath. “I should trust you more than that, forgive me...” (--) smiled, kissing his cheek.
“Only if you forgive me for putting on that awful movie, it was so cheesy...” Kugo puffed his cheeks, wrapping his arms around her waist as she was pulled into her lap.
“cheesy...cheesy my foot, I still don’t understand how you looked so unbothered and bored!” Kugo mumbled. “I hope you know that I am now going to be staying over.” He stood, still holding onto her. “And I think we shall go enjoy a nice bath and you can make it up to me by letting me hold you all night...” (--) sighed dramatically.
“Oh what agony...” She giggled.

hii ive been following your series as a lurker for a while now and i just love it so much. im genuinely invested in the love triangle (something rare for me tbh) id be happy with either one becoming the love interest (or if they remember polyamory's a thing /hj)
but also like- i really love that its not just a "the [insert couple] show" type thing where the romance plot overshadows every other character, cause like, shoko and utahime are some of my favorite characters so i love that like- everyone in the gang gets a bit of the spotlight
anyways sorry this is long winded lol i am a certified yapper, keep up the amazing work, i look forward to seeing more whichever direction it takes, and take care of yourself!
Thankyou this is so sweet omds😭💓💓
Yess!! I feel like I can enjoy writing it more bc of the stupid and silly things the rest do 😭😭 Like with having other character it feels like I can write more content in general and it not ending in a 2/3 party series if it was just focused on one character.
(Btw there’s gonna be a mini series about who the reader ends up with🤭 ~ and for the people who hoped for the other character I may write an AU for that)
(Also yap as much as you would like too bc I’m a yapper also 😚)

Misery Loves Company pt. 3 (Leon Kennedy x Reader Series)
Part 3: Light Poking Through
Parts: 1 2
CW: alcohol, very detailed mentions of an anxiety attack (medicated gang rise up),
WC: 2,593
Summary: After an injury in training, (y/n) and Leon discuss their relationship.
Tag list: @makimakimi
(A/N) Everything will be ramping up I promise. Also sorry not sorry for my thing for hands bleeding into this fic. What can I say, I’m a simple artist, I see good hands and I melt. Reader is literally a self insert. Also I have been humbled by chatbot.ai into realizing this entire time I thought it was DOS…. it’s DSO…. so ignore those mistakes in the past fics. This part also has some awkward and uncomfortable conflict resolution because it makes sense for both Leon and reader.
(Y/n) was seeing stars when they finally pulled apart. She winced in pain as she felt the pressure change on the bruise on her stomach. Before she could hide the pain, one of Leon’s hands was hovering over the ice pack. “You okay?” He asked, his eyes dripping with concern.
She nodded and looked back up at him, her (e/c) eyes staring into his. “Yeah, kiss me more,” She whispered, missing the contact of his lips on hers.
Leon sighed and lightly pressed on the bruise. (Y/n) had to bite her lip not to scream in pain. “You’re okay?” He asked pointedly. His eyes were full of guilt and something else that she couldn’t place.
“...no,” She admitted and squirmed under his touch.
“I’m really sorry,” He replied and dropped his gaze. (Y/n) cupped his face and made him look at her.
“You’ve already apologized like 4 times,” She rolled her eyes and smiled at him, to let him know that she was okay.
“I know, but-”
“And you are not apologizing for that kiss,” She stood up as best as she could, grimacing.
Leon put a hand on the small of her back to help stabilize her. She couldn’t help but feel how his hand felt. His fingers felt long and calloused, his palm was soft and warmth spread from it.
“I, uh , yeah.. Okay,” He said and gave her an awkward smile.
“So…. I’m guessing you’re gonna make me lay low for the rest of the day and stay at my desk?” (Y/n) sighed.
“Yeah, I’m honestly surprised you’re still standing,” He said and grinned at her. He helped her walk to behind her desk and sit in the chair behind it.
“Okay, Kennedy, don’t push it,” She said and lightly punched his shoulder.
“I’m serious, you’re lucky you got hit with my fist. I was thinking of kicking you,”
“I’d be dead if you kicked me,” She said flatly and chuckled. She sat down in her chair and relaxed into it. “I’ve seen you tear apart things with a single kick, it’s almost super human.”
“You praise me too much,” He said and handed her the ice pack. Leon picked up his leather jacket off the desk and put it on, relaxing into it.
“You’re my partner, it’s my job to inflate your ego then pop it like a balloon.” (Y/n) chuckled and pointed at her backpack across the office. “Can you hand that to me?”
He nodded instantly, and walked over to grab it.
“So…..,” (Y/n) said and stared at him. “What do we do now?”
He looked over at her and raised an eyebrow, putting her backpack down on the desk in front of her. “What do you mean?” He asked.
“Well…. We just said we love each other and kissed,” She awkwardly fidgeted with her fingers.
“Yeah,” Leon said awkwardly.
“So…” (Y/n) looked around the office awkwardly. She was just realizing now how cold it felt in the office; it was bright, fluorescent white, cold, and plain. It was opposed to the amber atmosphere, scent of vanilla, and colors everywhere in her apartment.
“So… you wanna catch dinner at your place after work?” He asked, arms crossed as he sat down in a chair across from her.
“I don’t know, are you gonna punch me again?” She felt a smirk pull at the corners of her mouth.
“Only if you tell me I don’t look handsome,” He picked up on the teasing tone in her voice and smiled at the ground.
“Noted.”
They both chuckled and the air of her office seemed to get warmer.
“I’ll be talking to Sierra, just letting you know,” Leon said.
“What? I told you not to,” (Y/n)’s eyes darted up to his. “Like I said, I can handle my own work problems, I’m a big girl,” She took her laptop out of her backpack and opened it.
“Well, he just got me involved. He pretty much made me beat up my partner. It’s not just a you problem now,” He uncrossed his arms and glared at the wall.
“Remember how you treated me when I suggested to tell Krauser to go fuck himself?” She replied. (Y/n) could see his jaw set out of her peripheral vision as she started to work on typing up case reports. “Don’t be like that, you know I’m right.”
“It was different then,” He said and shifted awkwardly in his seat.
“What, I’m suddenly different because you like me now?” She asked, not impressed by the sudden change in the direction of conversation. She didn’t look up from the laptop.
“What made you think I didn’t always?” He asked.
(Y/n) looked up at him, expecting to see a smirk, or a teasing face, but she was met with genuine concern. Her mouth went dry as she realized that she had read Leon wrong this entire time. Her partner that she was supposed to know how they worked, thought, and were, she felt that she left a complete stranger in front of her. “But that one time at the bar….” she replied, a little softer.
She heard footsteps walking towards her and didn’t want to look up from the laptop. Half out of need to finish her work, and the other half out of fear of bringing up a sore memory.
Leon stood next to her and put a hand on her arm. “What are you talking about?” He asked. “If I did or said anything to hurt you, tell me,” He said. She felt the warmth flow from his hand into her.
“Great, you don’t even remember the conversation we had,” (Y/n) remembered how his eyes swirled with the alcohol in him, his breath heavy with whiskey. But she also remembered the stinging pain of him confirming that he knew she liked him. She remembered him coldly saying to her that he didn’t need anyone. The pain still sore from the memory fully coming back to her earlier that morning.
“Communicate with me,” Leon almost pleaded. “You’d think you would be good at that, seeing as though you never shut up on missions,” He tried to lighten the mood.
She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Hunnigan told me to check in on you, I tried to get you to talk about Krauser and you pretty much told me to fuck off. You told me that you didn’t want my help and didn’t need anyone.” After letting that hang in the air for a couple of minutes, she awkwardly met Leon’s eyes. If the years of mental torture he had put himself through hadn’t broken him, she would’ve sworn that he’d be crying. She could almost picture the tears in his eyes with the way he was looking at her.
“Why didn’t you tell me I hurt you? We promised to have clear communication with each other,” He asked.
“I didn’t think it was that big of a deal,”
“That’s obviously a lie. That happened years ago and you’re still thinking about it,” He crossed his arms, but this time it wasn’t in a comfortable position.
“I don’t know, I didn’t want to ruin our friendship,” (Y/n) said quietly. She finally stopped typing on her laptop and gave him her undivided attention. “We were in a good place, I didn’t want to throw it all away.”
Leon bit the inside of his cheek nervously. “I’m sorry,” He said. “I’m sorry I made you feel like that.”
“It’s okay.”
“No it’s not,” He said. “I was just…. Not feeling like myself.”
“Leon, you don’t have to talk to me about it. I know you well enough to know that this is hard for you,” She said and turned the swivel chair towards him.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked. One of his eyebrows raised and he stared at her, wary of her next words.
“Well, you and I both know that you’re not the best with words,”
“Is that so?” He swallowed hard and walked back over to the chair across from the desk, sitting down in it.
“I didn’t mean for it to come out that way,” (Y/n) said.
“I guess we’re both bad with words then,” He said flatly and crossed his arms.
“I guess so….” She replied and went back to typing on her laptop. The awkwardness in the air was enough to choke on. This wasn’t the first time they had sat like this, both too afraid to say something that would fuck up the conversation.
The memory of the night after Operation Javier was one that (y/n) would rather forget. What was once the warm autumnal atmosphere of her apartment was cold, empty, lonely. She had sat by the phone, waiting for a call from her partner, all day. Any sign that Leon was okay and well was all she was waiting for.
Maybe well was too much to ask for in this job field.
She heard a knock at the door and saw the all too familiar shade of blonde hair from the front door window. Almost jumping off the couch, she took off to the front door. (Y/n) ripped the door open, almost tearing the hinges.
“Leon, you’re okay,” She said and looked him up and down. Taking him in, she could tell that something was wrong.
Actually, she could tell that everything was wrong; he had that same far off, glossy eyed stare that he had whenever anyone mentioned the Raccoon City Outbreak along with some pretty nasty new cuts and bruises.
(Y/n) grabbed his wrist and led him into the living room, bringing him to the couch. They both sat down and it seemed like Leon had just processed where he was.
“Tell me what happened,” She said and got up to get him a coffee.
“It’s Krauser,” Leon said emptily.
“What did he do to you this time?” She replied, ready to be court martialed for attempting to kick a Major’s ass.
“He’s dead, (y/n),” He said. Her blood froze in her veins and her stomach felt like it was going to twist in on itself. She handed him the warm cup and sat next to him.
“Leon, I’m sorry,” She replied after a few seconds of silence.
“They were right to keep you away from this assignment, you would be gone too,” He added and slowly drank the coffee in front of him.
“Excuse me?” (Y/n)’s heart felt like it had just been shattered. She had worked so hard to get to where she was and here was her partner saying she didn’t belong with him. That’s not what Leon met, but she was already spiraling.
She thought he meantthat she didn’t belong with him.
Leon’s eyes slowly made his way to hers and she almost shivered at how vacant they were. What were usually filled with determination, care, or tease, were windows into the hollow soul in front of her. “You needed to stay behind for this,” He added. Those words twisted a dagger into her. She wanted so badly to help with anything that this confession from Leon stung more than any practice knife slicing her. She wanted so badly to prove herself in a field that barely had any women in it.
She wanted so badly to be acknowledged.
The words came out before she could think about what caused them to pop up in her mind.
“Am I not good enough for you?” As soon as she said them, she was mortified. Her partner, her best friend was sitting in front of her mourning the loss of a fucked up mission and his mentor; and she made it about her insecurities. By the look on his face, (y/n) knew what Leon’s next words would be and she couldn't blame him.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” He asked harshly.
She froze, sitting in pure total disgust of what she just said. The two of them sat in the room, not talking to each other for an hour before (y/n) eventually broke the silence and apologized.
“So uh… tonight, pizza okay?” Leon asked, snapping (y/n) out of her memories. It seemed that today, it was him who extended the olive branch.
“Yeah sounds good,” She replied, going back to working on the case studies.
“What toppings?”
“You already know,” (Y/n) smirked at him.
“You’re fucking disgusting,” Leon scoffed and pulled out a notebook. He wrote down the toppings and stared at it. “Seriously, in the time that I’ve known you I haven’t been able to fix your gross pizza orders.”
“Hey, pineapple and jalapeños go amazingly together on a pizza!” She said defensively. Leon almost shivered in his spot and (y/n) smiled at the attempt to fix the mood in the room. “I’m sorry for making things awkward.”
“We’re people (y/n), not robots. We have thoughts and emotions that are difficult to think through. No matter what, I’ll always be your friend. Unless you do something really fucked up.” He said without looking up from the pad.
“Like what?” She took the bait.
“Ordering gross pizza, oh wait,” He smiled and playfully glared at her. They both chuckled for a few seconds. “I mean what I said though. I know you well enough to know that you have good intentions. And you know me well enough to know the same. I’m not going anywhere. That and I’m too lazy to find a new partner.”
(Y/n) smiled at him, genuinely and nodded in acknowledgement.
After awhile of hearing clacking and silence again, she thought of something.
“Did you invite Ingrid to tonight?” She asked.
“No, I wasn’t going to,” He replied.
“Why?” She asked obliviously.
“(Y/n), this is a date. Our first date.” He said and his eyes looked around the room awkwardly.
“Oh, then Hunnigan definitely doesn’t need to be invited.”
“No she doesn’t. How does 6:30 sound?” He asked and leaned back in his chair, finally relaxing again. He put his hands behind his head and crossed his legs.
“Sounds good, see you then.” She said neutrally. Her eyes moved to the clock on her laptop and her eyebrows furrowed. “Leon, you’ve been here for an hour and a half.”
“Yeah, and?”
“Don’t you have anything better to do then to watch me lose my mind filing case reports and an incident report?”
“No,” He said and smiled guiltily.
“The savior of America, every one,” (Y/n) said mockingly, a deadpan expression.
“It’s almost like you want your favorite person to leave,” Leon said and smirked at her.
“I do, now leave. See you at 6:30,” She said.
“Alright, 6:30,” Leon echoed and started to leave.
(Y/n) watched Leon walk out the door and couldn’t help but smile to herself at the excitement for tonight; dinner was going to be interesting.

Saw someone else do it and I think I've done this before too, but the list has grown since then a bit so here's my current lineup of read dead wips that I'm working on!! :D Minus the stuff that's already posted on AO3 cuz I see no point in doing a synopsis for things that have left my google drive and you can go and read ahah.
Turned out loooooong so lookie under the cut if you're interested in knowing what I'm up to.
Morston Soulmate AU (title tba, multichapter, around 20-30k when finished) - An AU where you can feel all the injuries your soulmate gets, both minor and major ones. There's no soul marks, seeing your soulmate get hurt and connecting the dots is the only way to find out. Has a lot of time skips and focuses more on feelings than events, but starts out pre-canon when John almost gets lynched and works its way towards the end of the canon story. Chapters alternate between Arthur's and John's POV. Canon compliant :)
RDR2 "Modern AU" (title tba, multichapter, long as shit) - I only call it a modern AU for the sake of simplicity... I'm not sure if it counts as one. Set in 1999 and focuses on the case of Arthur Matthews -- a 36 year old adoptive son of the infamous criminal defence lawyer Hosea Matthews, who went missing without a trace for six months and then reappeared miles from his hometown, seemingly unharmed, but also... not quite right. Delusional, confused, suffering from some sort of memory impairment. The story is about Arthur struggling to adapt to being back home in a reality that is apparently foreign to him. Outsider's/John's POV, but not really shippy. It can be read as pre-slash, though.
My Self-Indulgent Jesse/Arthur fic (another title tba lol, it's too early to tell but I'm thinking multichapter? A collection of scenes from 1878 to 1899) - This one is for me and me only, though I will eventually post it 😂 Written in second person, like a reader-insert and can be read as one if someone wants to, but I am including Jesse's backstory and feelings that are way too specific to be immersive for anyone but myself... I'm working real hard to write it in a way that portrays growing up queer in that time somewhat realistically, so it's not always pretty, but I do try to keep it not that depressing. Features: Jesse's early-life backstory, the story of the scar, his first Gay Experience, how his brothers died, the ups and downs of his relationship with Arthur, why they eventually broke up for what felt like last time, how he got arrested (altered RDO storyline bit) and how he got back up with the gang. I'm planning to do a rough rewrite/fix-it of the canon story with him in it too, but that's... an "one day" thing ajsddjfk
Morston Omegaverse (title tba, one shot, around 10-15k probably? I can't keep things short, sorry) - Young-ish and freshly presented Alpha John, "Closeted" Omega Arthur. Ngl this one is smutty as hell... but! I think my take on omegaverse is rather fun (very transgendered) and it's porn WITH not without plot so something for everyone there lol. John's POV again + lotsa feelings, misunderstandings and some angst :) Just the way I like it.
Vandermatthews Daemon AU (had a title but ao3 yeeted my draft and I forgot what it was, oops)- I say Vandermatthews, but it's more of a "curious couple, unruly son" genfic than real slashfic 😅 This is supposed to be the beginning a series of oneshots from different characters' POV. This one is maybe a 1/3 done (needs a serious rewrite tho) and written from Hosea's POV. It's about him and Dutch finding and taking in young Arthur -- a very traumatised child who has undergone intercision and therefore lost his daemon. More of a collection of vignettes from that moment to when they take in John than a real coherent fic tho. The next one is going to be John's POV coming of age thing and we'll see where my brain will go from there. I want to do a separate big ass post about this one later because I have Opinions on the gang members' daemons that I need either challenged or validated...
1907!John/Isaac fic (title tba... a two parter, one set in the epilogue and the second is a RDR1 fix-it) - NOW HEAR ME OUT!!!!!! PUT DOWN THE GODDAMN PITCHFORKS FOR A SECOND PLS This is a plot bunny that Refused To Fucking Die. Isaac is obviously an adult in this (22), they have never met before, and the story begins in the months where Abigail and Jack were gone and John worked alone on Pronghorn ranch. It's not so much a romance (despite the slash) but more two people dealing with different types of grief in Very Unhealthy ways, okay. It's supposed to be a bit iffy because of that and the... 12 years of difference between them in this universe. I'm not trying to make this shit uwu or anything. It's also a bit of a daddy issues vent piece for me and I've been working it for MONTHS because I want to write this one right. This is the the fic I redacted in my last WIP showcase, but now decided that... fuck it. Here you go.
(Doubt anyone has made it this far, but if you did ily.. please lemme know what you think? My ask box is open for questions too... I love talking about the stuff I'm working on even if it's not posted yet ❤)
#wrote this instead of working on any of these like i promised myself i'll do today..#master of procrastination#(well i wrote like 500 words of and i'll die if that counts.. but i've been at my puter the whole day so that's like nothing rip)#rdr2#oh the joys of fic writing
