 75 mph…
100 mph…
Yoongi’s hand grips tight on the inside of your thigh, fingers pressing into the supple flesh as his foot presses down the gas pedal.
The engine roars, matching the screaming explosion you feel inside your chest. Your veins feel like they’re flowing with the same high-octane fuel that Yoongi’s injected to the engine of the 1969 matte black Camaro.
Yoongi.
There’s nothing in the world you wouldn’t do for Yoongi.
The engine screams to life again, tearing through the otherwise silent car. It won’t be quiet for long. You can hear the distant blaring of police sirens, the low-grade rumble of helicopter wings closing in.
Yoongi simply smirks when you glance at him, eyes focused on the road with one hand on the leather steering wheel and the other rubbing at the skin of your inner thigh.
The sirens sound closer, only streets away now. Yoongi acts as if it’s only you and him, as if there’s nowhere else he’d rather be than right here in this car with you beside him and the bag of prized jewels in the back.
You love him. You love him more than you’ve ever loved another, more than you’d ever convince yourself you’d love again. He’s all-consuming. Yoongi is the cosmos, the universe that holds you within his center.
You’d die for Yoongi.
You’d kill.
“Yoongi,” you breathe, unable to speak any further. You don’t need to. Yoongi knows what you’re saying. He grips your leg tighter and the smirk widens on his face, finally flickering his eyes over to your own.
“I know,” he says. Because he does.
Tumblr media
Yoongi gives no sign that he’s scared. He’s the picture of composure as he squeezes the car through narrow streets, tires squealing as he spins the wheel to slide into the next alley way and dodge the cops through yet another neighborhood. He doesn’t even bat an eye as he defends you inside the jobs, gun blazing as he ensures your safety without even a glance back.
He gives no indication that anything can go wrong, as if his mind is already made up that everything will be okay and you’ll both get out, get away, without a scratch.
It’s different when he lays you down. He sets you on the cheap motel mattress with care, like a delicate doll, made of glass and ceramic, one wrong move away from breaking.
He presses his lips to every inch of your body, as if ensuring himself that you’re okay, that you’re here, that he got you out safely. He doesn’t speak, doesn’t want to break the reverent silence of the dingy bedroom that becomes his chapel when he has you in his arms.
Safe.
You’re safe and Yoongi needs hours to remind himself of that, needs more than just kisses and touches. He pushes himself into you slowly, letting the tight heat of your core remind him just how alive you are. He opens you up like a prayer, spreading your legs and gasping for air as he recites the only invocation he knows, the only one he believes in.
“I love you.”
Sweaty and overheated, your hands grasp for any part of Yoongi you can--his arms, his vascular hands. You need more, need to feel him in more ways than you can count. Yoongi feels so good buried deep inside you, rocking his hips against your own and making your body scream with pent-up desire.
“I love you, Yoongi,” you nearly scream as he hits a spot within you that makes you forget about the whole world around you. “Only you.”
Yoongi doesn’t believe in a God, doesn’t believe in any higher power. But he thinks the closest to heaven is the way you cry his name for him, the way you keen for more as he spills himself inside you.
Tumblr media
The duffel bag of dollar bills is heavy in your lap as you throw yourself into the Camaro, running from the high rise bank, and Yoongi slams on the gas pedal before you can even close the door.
“Shit!” Your hands grip at the duffel bag, trying to stay afloat in the speeding car. The door closes by itself after he careens down the highway and you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
“God, that was so fucking good,” Yoongi grins, voice high with excitement and adreneline. “You did so fucking good, baby doll.”
The praise goes straight to your heart, straight to the muscle inside your chest that has Yoongi’s name stamped into each vein, each artery. He’s yours, he’s so wholly yours and you so wholly his, you think you can’t even breathe without him around.
You don’t watch where he drives, too focused on the curve of his cheeks, the way his black hair is pushed back messily. You don’t care where he takes you. All you need is him and the feel of his hand resting on your thigh, a spot made just for him.
Yoongi.
I’d die for you, Yoongi, don’t you know that?
Yoongi finally, blessedly, looks over at you once he’s settled himself onto a long stretch of highway outside of the city, no longer looking in the rearview mirror for the shining lights of the police, no longer zipping and weaving between other cars on the road.
The peace of the open road settles in your chest and you let go of the duffle bag, throwing it over your shoulder to sit in the backseat, in between the bag of jewels and the expensive artwork from the last heist.
You settle into the seat and he lets his fingers spread out, touching you as if grounding himself to you.
“You’re my ride or die, baby,” he breathes after a moment of silence. You stare straight ahead, watching as the dark sunset ahead of you bursts in an explosion of colors.
“Forever, Yoongi.”
Tumblr media
Yoongi could spend hours between your thighs. He doesn’t even make any attempts to remove himself from the taste of your slick cunt until you’ve climaxed twice from his tongue. He eats you like he’s parched, only able to sate his thirst by drinking directly from your core.
He holds your legs tight, reminding himself you’re here, you’re with him, you’re never leaving and he’s never letting you go.
Your hands thread through his hair, gripping the silken raven locks as he digs his tongue into your channel yet again, lapping up the sweetness that spills from your orgasm, relishing in the rhythmic chanting of his name. He never wants to hear anything else drip from your lips, wants no other name but his own staining the pretty pout and echoing around the motel room.
You are his everything. His world. His universe.
He finally pulls away, smiling up at you after your third consecutive orgasm wrought by his mouth, and kisses at the skin of your thighs--the same place he allows his hand to rest when he steers you away from the chaos of your burglaries.
“I love you more than anything in this world,” he breathes, pressing his soft kisses up your legs and swirling around your belly.
“More than money?” You ask, out of breath.
“More than money.”
“More than jewels?”
“More than anything any bank in the world combined could have in their stores,” he promises to every inch of your breasts, tongue lapping at the nipple. “More than any king could ever want.”
“Yoongi,” you sigh when he finally slides into you, completing you. You’re nothing without him, nothing without the feeling of him within you.
“Say it again,” he whispers against your ear as he thrusts into you gently, holding you tenderly in his arms.
“Yoongi.”
His head falls against your own, foreheads touching as he bores his eyes into yours. His. His, his, his. You’re his only, and his forever, and he never wants to live another moment, another day, another second, without you.
He claims you, seed spilling deep into your womb at the height of your shared climax. Your body welcomes him, clenches with desire and milks him to the last drop, desperate to keep him within you for as long as you can.
“It’s just you and me forever, baby,” he says after he’s cleaned you up and laid you down.
Suddenly, there’s sirens and the flashing red and blue lights outside the window.
“Come out! We have you surrounded.”
Yoongi helps you throw on clothes, whispering hurriedly as he stashes the guns he needs into his pocket and throws one to you.
He throws a look at you as he knocks the glass out of the back window of the bathroom.
“You ready for another adventure, baby?”
The gun feels heavy in your hands, but solid. Comforting. The gun is your means of staying with Yoongi, never leaving his sight. You’d take down anything that stood in the way, eliminate any threat that posed a risk of taking him away.
He notes your silence and kisses you quick, before hoisting you up to climb out the window and make a run for the hidden Camaro in the alleyway.
He catches up to you, hand slipping into your own and tugging you to run faster, the Camaro coming into your sights like a sanctuary. You can hear the pounding footsteps of the police around the building, the splintering wood as they force themselves into the now-vacant motel room, still wet and hot from where you made love.
Yoongi grins as he slides into the car and fires the engine, pulling you in for a deep and passionate kiss, hands hovering over the steering wheel.
With a quirk of his lips, he places his hand back on it’s spot on your thigh.
“Ride or die, right, baby?”

Loverboy. | YangYang

Genre: Fluff, sprinkles of Crack and Angst, yet another college!au but not dominantly I’d say, friends!au, whof*ckingknowshowtheyendup!au
Hope you enjoy it loves! Have a good morning/day/afternoon/evening/night, I’m heading off to sleep lol 💚
“YangYang, why don’t you come with us this time?”
There is a dead silence that occurs after your father speaks. The three of you had been hanging out— lounging around on the couches since the weather is too hot to do anything else— as you always do in the living room while your parents were outside grocery shopping for the coming trip, and this happened to be their greeting when they stepped into the house. Your father’s suggestion is lighthearted with a smile on his face, which is making the silence more unbearable than it has to be. “We’re just staying for the weekend. I think your parents would be okay with it, don’t you think?”
“Um, I don’t know,” YangYang answers quickly and rather awkwardly. He looks to his side when your brother nudges (more like jokingly kicks) his leg with his foot. “Just say yes man.”
You do not bother to look up from your phone at the conversation that is going on, because this conversation has been repeating itself for a couple of years now. The answer had always been no at the end— since YangYang had to work at the dance studio, in his defense. Two years ago was hectic because of all the college businesses that had to be taken care of, document work and moving in and what not, and last year had been the same because of your admission to college.
As far as you and your brother knows he does not have an excuse this time. Plus, the three of you do not have the chance to hang out as much anymore as all of your schools’ schedules fall on different times, so this could be one of the last times you get to hang out freely until next year.
You hear the subject of the question laugh slightly. “I guess my sister could use a little break from me,” It is then that you hear a shuffle, a more audible hit, and a grunt that follows from your brother’s best friend. “It’s literally three letters, you’re making things harder than they need to be.”
“It’s not like you don’t sleep over at ours anyway, what makes it different if it’s someplace else?” You ask, and the two boys turn to look at you. Lifting your finger to your temple and tapping it several times you smile at YangYang, knowing the peer pressure must get to him at this point— not to mention the very drunken sleepovers he had had in college he had told you guys about in apartments he had not known the residents of. Both your brother and you could play that card any time.
YangYang seems to recognize that. “When are we leaving, then?”
The next day, five in the morning. You put your luggages one by one into the car, having to place a couple of them in front of the backseats since the stuff you had taken for only three days had already occupied most of the space. YangYang looks surprisingly awake, more awake than you and your brother could ever look waking up at that time.
And as if it is not bad enough that you are awake at this time after barely an hour’s sleep last night (as you had procrastinated getting ready until you absolutely had to), your brother opens the back door and nods his head towards the seats. “C’mon. You’re sitting in the middle.”
“Why do you hate me so much?” The whine is one of desperation since on top of everything you also have to sit on the tightest and hardest seat. But your brother does not give into it. “I don’t hate you, we just need more leg room than you do.” Which is right, but annoying.
You are the first to sit down at your seat, your brother and YangYang following suit. The three of you sit in silence as your parents and YangYang’s speak to each other outside, laughing. You can hardly keep your eyes open but when you are about to put your earphones on and lay your head back to try and sleep, your brother decides to start speaking. He starts going on and on about his plans for the upcoming two and a half days as if he would have the time to do them all, and at one point he starts speaking of someone you know all too well.
When he does, you shoot your eyes open and turn to face him. “You’re gonna hang out with who?”
“Didn’t you hear? Was I not loud enough?” He raises his voice, which makes both you and YangYang hiss a little at his antic because it really is too early for whatever he is doing. “Fuck you, okay? I don’t care. Just don’t have your tongues down each other’s throats around me. That’s disgusting.”
“I apologized for that and it wasn’t even my fault.” He says just as your parents open the doors to their seats, prompting you to shut your mouths up. It annoyed you to all extents imaginable that he would be hanging out with his summer fling once again— not that you did not like them, but the fact that they would never commit to a full on relationship was incredibly annoying considering they do whatever they do every single summer.
He mumbles something about you being upset you are lonely as your mother starts the car and starts driving, and you elbow him in the side, eliciting a silent groan from him as YangYang chuckles at you two. You lay your head back, your neck incredibly uncomfortable— so you give up on it instantly and turn to YangYang.
“Can I lay my head on your shoulder? I’ll share my earphones with you.”
It takes him a while to respond, which is weird, but it is still too early in the morning after all. In the end, though, he gulps a little and nods saying of course. So you lay your head down on his shoulder that is arguably not any more comfortable than the headrest is but at least your head is laid at a reasonable angle. YangYang accepts the earphone you hand out to him, and places his elbow against the window, leaning his cheek against his knuckles as he starts watching the changing scenery.
You fall asleep within a few minutes.
The drive lasted only about four hours long, so when you arrived at the little baby blue cottage near the beach none of you were really awake. But that matter had to be thrown to some non-visitable place in your brain as there was much cleaning to do before any of you could even imagine walking down to the beach.
Your brother vacuums and YangYang mops the floors as you dust around and clean the windows, your parents take care of the groceries and switch the water and electricity on. Luckily the cottage is really small, barely a living room with a sofa and a love-seat pushed close to each other, a small and old TV, open-plan kitchen with little counter space, two small bedrooms— yours with a couple pull out couches— and a small bathroom with very limited space that could only fit one person at a time.
But it still holds a warm feeling to it not counting the heat outside. The kind that makes you feel all warm and lovely inside.
Even though the cottage is small, cleaning it up takes some time. It is already the afternoon by the time you are finished, which is really sad considering today is Saturday, and you would already be on your way back by Monday afternoon.
But you forget about it when YangYang walks into the bedroom the three of you would be staying in, seeing you cleaning the windows. He drops his bag on a couch before turning back at you. “I’m done with mopping.”
“That’s great.” You say, spraying more of the cleaning liquid to the glass before getting back to trying to get a stubborn stain off. “I can help you, if you’d like.”
“Ah,” The cloth drops to your leg as you huff because wow it is really hot. “I mean I think I’ll be done soon. You guys can get ready to go out I guess.”
Silence. The awkward kind, but the kind of awkward where you know he is hesitant to tell you something. Only one thing comes to your mind. “Did he—?” You cannot finish the sentence because of how damn angry the possibility makes you that your brother ditched you and his best friend from the first minute. “He said they’re only gonna greet each other and he’ll be meeting us at the beach.”
With a dramatic roll of your eyes, you get back to wiping. “If he’s so in love, why wouldn’t he just ask them out I swear this happens all the fucking time—“
YangYang starts laughing as you rant, and you join him after a while, half because your response to feeling pissed off is laughing and half because his low laugh is pretty damn contagious. After your laughs subside you throw the cloth on the windowsill because to all hell with that— if your brother gets to vacuum and immediately storm out, you get to go outside without taking the stain off the window. “Let’s just get ready.”
The beach is not crowded when you walk down, most probably because it is not the season yet for most people.
The waves are ginormous but you do not really care, the sea was mostly like this rather than not. Which is why you just put down your towel without so much as a glance at its way. YangYang does the same as you, helping you with the umbrella and making sure it would not budge in the wind. “Are you really not mad at my brother?” You ask as you put the last stone at the corner of your towel to secure it in place.
“Why would I be?” He looks completely unbothered, which kind of answers your question. “I don’t know, bros before hoes and all that,” You huff. “I’d be mad at him— I am mad at him.”
“We both know he’s kind of really head over heels. Doesn’t faze me,” YangYang chuckles as you bunch up some sand in your hand. “Plus, he was the one that asked your father to come here.”
“He was?” The sheer shock that you seem to show makes him laugh, eyes tracing over your face as he leans on his hand. “You didn’t know?”
“I didn’t,” You confirm, shaking your head side to side. “Why— no offense, but why would he encourage you to come along then?”
YangYang clears his throat a little and shrugs. “Emotional support if things go wrong, I guess.”
You laugh, shaking your head again. Then it hits you. “Wait, so he’s actually gonna ask them out?”
“Yeah, I mean they’d been kind of trying the long distance thing out this year. So I don’t even know if he has to ask them out.” There is a pause before he smiles. “I’m happy for him. At least one of us gets to have the relationship they want, even if it’s hard to have it.”
Your head snaps at him at that, a wide grin on your face. “Aw, you have someone you like?”
The question seems to fluster him immediately. He gets uncomfortable, you can feel it, as he shifts in his place and sniffs. He is all smiley when he turns his gaze towards the sea. “I do. But I don’t think it’ll happen.”
“Why is that? Tell me about them,” Your words only seem to corner him further, but you frankly cannot care. Knees close to your chest, you hug them closer, placing your chin on top of your knee. He looks at you briefly before letting out an airy chuckle and turning his gaze back to where it had been. “They’re just.. amazing. Witty and playful but also grounded. Good thing is we’re close, but yet we’re so far. That’s all I can say, really.”
You want to nag him about it, but he cuts you off before you can, his head perking up. “Oh, your parents are coming.”
He gets surprised when you spring up onto your feet urging him to do the same with your hand. He gets up too, and you take your beach attire as quickly as you can which prompts an all awkward cough from him, tugging at his t-shirt before taking your own piece of clothing off your neck. “If you don’t want to be interviewed for the next several hours we have to go swimming right now.” You explain, knowing your parents would keep him as a hostage for some conversation— topic most likely being how college is, if he is doing good in his classes, if he is happy with his life, what does he want to do in the future, any hopes and dreams; the topics were endless.
The two of you only say hello to your parents before rushing to the sea, jumping in without much preparation as the waves would have hit you first if you had not done it.
The water is really cold because of the current, but you still have your fun.
YangYang and you both help your parents cook that night after taking your showers, and even as you are eating, your brother does not return. After you finish your dinner and the two of you have some coffee, you start talking about how dancing is going for YangYang, and your brother does not return.
Even when you drag YangYang outside by his wrist, walking to the square filled with stands and shops, saying “I need enough ice cream to make me regret being born.” and eat said enough amount, regret ever bracing the surface of this earth as your companion does the same, and come back— your brother does not return.
Instead, he returns after YangYang and you prepare his bed for him on the ground and change into your pajamas one by one. To be exact, he returns when the two of you are having your final glasses of water before going to sleep.
YangYang and you had agreed on doing something for when he did return, so even as you are caught by surprise as you are sipping on your water, you force it down before starting to applaud your brother. His friend beside you lets out a laugh at you before joining. Your brother looks something between surprised and confused.
“You found your way home!” You shout, making your parents laugh all the way from their room (which is not that far from the kitchen given the cottage’s size). “You’ve grown so much, you can find directions on your own without us having to pick you up.” You place your hand on your chest for dramatic measures. “I’m so proud.”
“Shut up.” Although his voice comes out annoyed, your brother has a smile on his face that makes you happy. You lean on the counter as he walks over and fills up a glass of water for himself, looking up at him curiously— and a bit mischievously. With your elbow you nudge YangYang a bit, encouraging him to ask.
He does. “So, how’d it go?”
“It went so bad that I had to take a walk that ended up lasting a few hours— it went good. We missed each other.” As always with your brother, he has to be annoying while answering the question. He leaves to get ready for bed leaving the two of you behind.
You and YangYang only look at each other in annoyance, and you make him break in laughter when you mock your brother’s it went good, we missed each other.
The three of you are out the door the moment you finish your breakfast next morning.
You gather your towels, the umbrella, the volleyball and the frisbee for your full day at beach that you must make the most of before going back home the next day.
The waves seem more acceptable today although they are nowhere near calm, but again, you do not care. You place the towels down, YangYang helps with the umbrella again, and your brother sets up the snacks you had brought along. The small cooler sits in between the towels and under the umbrella’s shadow.
The three of you all decide that playing some volleyball and ultimate frisbee before getting into the water is a smart choice, so you play around for who knows how long. Sun shining bright and strong on your heads, sand burning the bottoms of your feet, the sea breeze hitting your faces; sometimes you laugh, sometimes you scream in frustration, sometimes you scream just because you want to. All three of you have your fair share of sand in your mouths and on your face after dipping countless times for the volleyball and the frisbee. You get a couple of sand burns on your feet, and YangYang scratches the side of his hand when he falls down after catching the frisbee and landing on a random piece of log that had washed up to the shore— most likely after a forest fire that brought the content with the sea current.
But you definitely have a burnout at some point and have a swim in the sea, a swim of unnecessary splash wars considering how big the waves are. The two boys keep dunking each other’s heads into the sea, having their own fun from time to time, being silly. The mood is up there the whole time as you join their competition on who will hold their handstand for the longest time which is weird as the waves knock you all over so it really depends on how far the wave is when you start your handstand.
And it only hits you just how much time has passed when all of you go back and wrap yourselves in towels and sit down to have a few snacks along with some beer that was packed in the cooler.
“It’s so hot,” YangYang complains, and upon placing a hand on his shoulder you can indeed say he is hot. Probably too hot. The best solution you have at that moment is holding the cold beer bottle against his back. Which makes him jump in his place, and gets you laughing. “That feels so good but it’s so cold!” He basically screams, and you urge your brother to do the same as what you are doing, reaching out for the ice in the cooler.
You notice how pink or rather red his back is when you put the ice in his t-shirt in an attempt to make an ice bag out of it. “You’ve burned,”  You let out with a laugh. “That’s gonna peel for sure.” And you place the makeshift bag on his back.
When you get back to the house your brother is the first to take a shower since he has a special someone he needs to see once more before he leaves for home and for another year of college.
YangYang sits on the lounge chair out on the porch with you stood behind him, putting on aloe vera burn cream on his burnt upper back. He groans sometimes but tries to hide it by laughing, and honestly you are grateful for that— because it really looks like it must be hurting a whole lot, and you do not like seeing people in pain. “You messed up big time loverboy.”
He chokes on his spit. “What?”
“What, what? You messed up because you didn’t put enough sunscreen, and you are crushing on someone— hence the loverboy.”
“Ah, yeah,” He mumbles. “True.”
Everyone is asleep.
At least everyone should be, but you are not.
Instead you are sat out on the porch, and on the lounge chair, with only a glass of water in your hands and your earphones placed on your ears as songs of all kinds play. The midnight breeze had been too inviting for you to not stay up, hearing the angry waves of the sea crash to the shore. In the distance there is a cargo ship (ships were frequent in the off-season and at nights since the beach was not much used), the only light source in sight.
The sky is already only ever so slightly turning into a brighter grey, signaling the coming of the morning. You still had half a day before having to return back to sitting at your middle seat for the four hour drive, then doing the laundry, and then slowly but surely getting back to chores and schoolwork, preparing for your return to the campus in the upcoming weeks.
But right now, you want to stay in this moment forever. This moment where everything is so silent and so peaceful without worry of school or work or anything, this moment where your parents still do not have to get back to work, this moment where your brother is still close to the person who he loves.
It feels selfish for you to even think of it, though. Because you know YangYang is not truly all that happy at this moment. He is still crushing on someone, someone who he knows he does not have much chance of being together with. And on top of that, he is doing it with a pretty bad burn on his back.
Maybe time must move on for him, then. Maybe as time moves on everything can fall in place a bit better.
But you definitely want time to stop again when someone pulls an earphone out of your ear. You jump a little in your seat, trying to make out the face in the dark before they speak. “Hey,” YangYang whispers. “You weren’t sleeping were you?”
“No,” You say as your heart beats, no signs of slowing. “You couldn’t sleep?”
He chuckles at the answer that will get repeated, and at the question that addresses the obvious. “No,” And he sits down on the seat you open up for him, the two of you sitting side to side, arms touching. “I’ve been thinking.”
“About?” He sighs, and you can tell it is shaky, but not in the sad way. You do not remember ever seeing him sad, for that matter. “About my feelings.”
“What about your feelings?” There is a huff that leaves him that is full of uncertainty, but it is less shaky than his sigh. Bravery, maybe. His eyes that are fixed on the ship turn to you, a smile on his face, and he has to take one more breath before he speaks, eyes once again trailing all over your face before landing on yours.
“I really like you. Have been for a long time. I just thought you should know.”

High School Au {Part 3}
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 4
this one is like sorta long-ish? (for me lol, in actuality its like super short) and it’s trash so my b
******
Here’s the thing. Working with Cardan was actually pretty good. I never thought I would ever think that and yet here I am. I’m pretty sure my delusions are growing but that's not really the point.
The point is that the kid knows his shit. I mean really knows his shit.
Noggle gave us Scipio Africanus’ Tactics which was an adventure in itself. Cardan had just looked at me with a toned-down version of his death stare and asked me if we wanted to break up the work.
It was that simple. We made a combined slideshow that took about 20 minutes in total with each of us splitting the research. I was looking over the slides and when I got to his I think my brain imploded.
They were extremely detailed, more so even than mine and he had been on his phone half of the time. I mean even the sentences sounded smart.  He used the word consternation. I mean what does that even mean? Not that I was about to ask.
Noggle basically pushed us out early when he saw how good our slides were considering this was just a club and so he shoved us out with a big smile.
So in all working with Cardan wasn’t terrible. I barely even noticed how clear his skin looked from close up! So progress for me.
But now as we currently exit out the east side doors to the parking lot I can’t help but notice how he seems to glow in the sunlight. Or the fact that something about him just feels ethereal at this moment.
So I book it. Walking as fast as I possibly can to the back of the parking lot.
I’m so focused and hightailing it away from the beauty that is Cardan that I don’t realize anything is amiss until I’m standing in an empty parking spot.
I do a little 360 standing in the place where the car is supposed to be.
Fuck.
I should be surprised, or even concerned that my car is missing. But I’m not.
Three sisters and two cars is not a perfect equation. I check my phone to see if I missed anything in the group chat.
Viv: I’m taking Carol to work
Taryn: I thought we agreed on Joan?
Vivi Yeah but saying I’m taking Joan makes me feel like a 40 year old mom who drives a minivan
Taryn: And Carol doesn't give you the same vibes?
Viv: Nah, Crackhead Carol is wildddddd
Taryn: I hate you.
Taryn: I’m taking Olie to the mall, Jude can you catch the bus?
Viv: I can not believe that you give me shit for Carol and then named our beautiful baby after Oliver Wood.
Taryn: Excuse me? Oliver Wood is the god of the century
Viv: Bitch can't beat Luna
Taryn: You would
Taryn: Do we think Jude will even see this or am I gonna have to go back to pick her up
Viv: She’s probably to busy dreaming nasty thoughts about her ghosty boy and his little ghost
Taryn: Let's not start on this again pls
Viv: I’ll be home at 9 don’t die in the meantime xx
First of all, Shit.
Second, I’m going to strangle Vivi with my bare hands. Garrett and I are friends and it's actually starting to piss me off.
Third, how the fuck do they expect me to get Oak with no car? Fucking idiots.
Jude: Which one of you dumbos is gonna get Oak?
Viv: Workingggggggg
Taryn: I’m 45 minutes away... so like u
Jude: I am wishing death upon your souls :)
I look at my watch to see It’s already three. Shit.
What am I going to do? Walk? I can’t call Orianna or Dad. I am not in the mood to face Oriannas snarky comments or Dad’s lectures about responsibility.
So that leaves walking. Or more like running. I am so going to be late.
But as I’m dashing across the parking lot I almost get run over by a black Porsche Cayenne.
 Which p.s. is one sexy ass car.
Usually, I might stop to give the driver an earful about how running over pedestrians is not the vibe. But I have 15 minutes to get to Oak’s school which is like 20 minutes on foot.
I start walking again when I hear the car's window roll down and a voice from the driver's seat.
It’s Cardan.
Of course.
I’m waiting for a comment about idiotically walking behind moving cars but it doesn’t come. Or for him to unleash the snide comments he has been holding back all afternoon. However, what does come out is even worse.
“Do you need a ride?”
....
I’m staring at him through his open window. I’m about two feet from the driver's door and Cardan is tapping his fingers methodically on the door.
He doesn’t look very menacing. His eyes are flickering over my face and he raises an eyebrow up at me.
“Well?” He asks probingly. I’m all too aware of what this means. The dude who terrorized my childhood is reaching out an olive branch.
There’s a part of me that wants to turn and walk away from his cruel glares and the comments he used to spit at me and Taryn. But I really could use a ride.
Plus, he looks extremely hot with one of his hands on the wheel which is like an added bonus.
“Yeah, I do.” He seems a little surprised that I said yes. I watch as a small smirk graces his face. Damn.
He nods his head to the passenger side and I walk around the car and slide into the seat. Just FYI these seats are comfortable as shit.
I look over at Cardan as he starts to back up. Which is a terrible idea. He looks so laid back and comfortable. He looks like he fits here and his face is blank of that awful sneer he seems to have on every day at school.
It makes me despise him a little less. I should have walked.
“Can you drop me off at Elfame Elementary?”
He looks over at me quizically. “Yeah.” A pause. “Why do you need to go there?”
“I need to pick up my little brother,”.
“Is that why you were running around the parking lot like a headless chicken?”. He looks amused as he says this.
“I was not running around like a headless chicken.” My voice is a little cold as I speak. His face goes a little more stonelike at my tone.
Jude! Wtf, this guy is giving you a ride. Pull it together!
“My sisters took the cars and left me stranded,” I attempt a little more warmly. “So thank you.”
His face twists a little surprised at the thank you. Mind kind of does too. Me saying thank you to the kid who poured milk all over me on picture day for years throughout elementary school.
Cardan doesn’t say anything else as we drive to Oak’s school. He just turns on some music and drives. It’s actually kind of nice being able to watch the vibrant green trees go zooming by.
Before I know it Cardan is pulling into the parking lot of the elementary school.
A little bit of me is disappointed it's over so soon. I actually feel a little peaceful.
I look down at my watch to see it’s 3:10. Perfect!
“Thanks, Cardan, truly this was life-saving,” I reach over to the handle about to push the door open when I look back to see an expression on Cardan's face that matches my own.
“How are you going to get home after?” Cardan’s voice is soft as he asks.
“I was going to walk to Ralph’s, Viv has one of the cars with her,”.
“That's like a mile away,” Cardan says laughing a little as he does.
“Don’t really have any other options here buddy,”
“Buddy?” He looks offended. As if the word is a personal assault to his well being. I can’t help but roll my eyes. To which he notices and roll’s his eyes back at me.
“I can drive you and your brother home. If you want?”.
Yes. I do want. But I’m not really in the mood to owe Cardan anything and this feels like a favor a little too out of his way. Why is he helping me out?
So no?
But I’m also not in the mood for the complaining Oak will give me for walking in this sweltering heat.
“Uh, yeah. Thanks.” Then I shut the door and head into the school.
....
Oak is looking up at me with a puzzled look on his face.
“I thought Viv was going to get me today?”
“Sorry, bud. She had to work.” He just shrugs. “Does that mean shell bring me back a milkshake!” He’s popping up on his toes almost jumping in joy. I just stifle a laugh and shake his hair up.
“Where did you park Olie?” Oak is looking around quizically trying to spot the black jeep named after the quidditch legend himself. When he cant spot Ollie Oak turns to look at me with a full face of disappointment. “Did you drive Crackhead Carol?”
The dad who walks by as he gives me a wide eyed look before shuffling his kids along in the opposite direction. I can’t help roll my eyes even though Vivi isn’t even here.
Oak is still looking at me in despair. He hates Crackhead Carol. Says that it’s scary driving in it. Which is not true. The only reason he hates Carol is that every time he’s in Carol is when Vivi is driving. Which is an experience to drive any person to full body fear.
“I did not drive Carol.” Oak’s shoulders un-tense and he goes back to bouncing as we make our way past the busses and smiling bus monitors to the parking lot.
“So how did you get here?”
“Oak, chill out we’re not walking to Ralph's,” I say still heading to where Cardan parked his car.
Oak just stops halfway through the parking lot with his hands on his hips demanding an explanation. As much as he is trying to be serious he just looks adorable.
“I’ll give you a piggyback if you stop being an annoying little butt.” He just smiles and catapults onto my back.  I don’t often offer to give Oak piggybacks any more. He’s gotten heavier as he's grown. Plus sometimes he thinks he's too old and cool for them. I guess today is not one of those days.
When I get back to Cardan’s car I can see he has an amused smile as he watches my cart around my lanky 7 year old brother.
Oak looks at me with wide eyes as I buckle him up in the back and plop down in the passenger seat. Cardan has turned off the rap he was playing early and switched it to that teeny bob that I despise but Taryn loves.
I look over to see that not only is the amused look on his lips but also in his eyes. He doesn’t say anything and instead just pulls out of the parking lot.
Oak who has been unusually quiet finally opens his mouth.
“Are you Jude’s boyfriend?” Oh my god.
“Oak!” My face has most certainly paled to the color of ice. Cardan looks at first like he might throw up with the thought but then he starts laughing.
And damn is that a nice sight. His sharp features are relaxed and full of laughter.
“Jude’s never had a boyfriend before.” Oak pauses for a second before continuing. “Actually she had one boyfriend but now he’s Taryn’s boyfriend so that doesn’t really count.”
I think I might strangle Oak. I look over at Cardan who seems to have gone a little rigid with this turn of the conversation. Having Cardan sit here with my brother telling him about my relationship disasters is embarrassing.
I mean, of course, he already knows this. He’s friends with Locke. But still, something about this is bugging me.
“Oak,” My voice is diminished when I speak. I’m looking out the window forcing the feelings I've been fighting for months to go away. Taryn and I worked things out. We always do. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t sting sometimes.
That's when I feel a strong nimble hand grab mine. I look over to Cardan as he drives. His eyes are focused on the road as he squeezes my hand.
I think my heart is going to melt.
But then I think I’m going to attack him. I remember seeing Nicasia laugh along with Valerian and Locke. Who’s to say he didn’t poke fun of the fool I was. I bet he’s only doing this now to go laugh at what an idiot I am later with all of his cronies.
But then he catches my eyes and he seems genuinely sad for me so I don’t attack him. But I do pull my hand from his and look back out the window. I don’t care if he’s been nice today. That does not exclude the years of name-calling. Of making me and Taryn feel small. Of how he glared at me at the party. What the fuck changed so quickly?
Oak is apparently not done talking. As usual. “Only Heather and Locke drive me places too. They're both my sister's boyfriend and girlfriend.” That makes me turn around.
“Cardan is not my boyfriend.” My voice is firm as I speak.
I look over to see a little bit of anger on his face. He has both hands on the wheel. No aimless tapping or anything. He looks over with that cold glare he gave me at the party.
Great! He’s mad because I pulled my hand from his. What an arrogant bastard.
....
When we finally get home Oak jumps out of the car running to the door. Something about Fixer Upper being on. What an odd kid.
Oak’s gone before I can even open the door leaving me and Cardan alone.
He’s staring dead out the window not even bothering to look at me. Which is fucking annoying. This dude needs to get a grip on his mood swings. I’m irritated enough to the point where I have to say something.
“Why the fuck were you being so tolerable early? You're usually pretty shitty to me. So whats up? What's with the bits of decency all of the sudden. You hate me. What's going on here?”
He turns his head to meet me eye to eye. His lips are sent in such a hard line I don’t think I’m going to get an answer.
“I do not hate you.”
“No? What about that time you called me and Taryn lowlife orphans who were less important than the dirt on your shoe? Or when you would steal my lunch money every day? Or that time you tripped me at elementary school graduation? I broke my ankle.” I’m seething. My whole body hot with anger.
He just sits there. Stone cold as ice.
“I was a child.” It's icy. Dismissive. As if the pent up anger, the feelings I had that I didn’t belong where nothing.
“Fine. What about Friday night? That lovely moment when you basically kicked me out of that party? Omg, what about when I started dating Locke and you called me a filthy slut! That was a fun one.”
He’s staring at me with a hard unrelenting stare.
I can not believe I started to think he wasn’t such an asshole. Just listening to myself speak I realize how dumb I am. I’m too pissed at the feelings that have been in that dark space next to my heart to even wait for his answer.
I’m curious sure. But I’m done. I’ve put up with this shit for too long.
I’m storming out of the car. Slamming the door to his precious car as hard as I can.
“Jude.” His voice is hard. Commanding. I feel like smacking him into next week.
I turn to see him standing out of his door arms crossed defensively. I can't help but match his stance. He’s only 3 ft away and I feel the urge to run as far as I can.
“I don’t hate you.” He’s spitting the words out now full of force.
“You looked hot as fuck Friday night,”. What? “And that pissed me the fuck off because I like you.”
What the fuck.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.” Oh my god. “And I hate that.”
 He takes a pause, “I despise you for it.”
I’m frozen in place. Just staring at this asshole who had the nerve to tell me he likes me? After the torment, he inflicted on me as a kid. After the name-calling and the glares and the...
My entire brain freezes as he tugs me into his chest. Hard.
Because now he's kissing me. And damn is he a good kisser.
He has a hand tangled in my hair and the other one is keeping me pinned to him. I’m a stone statue for a whole 3 seconds before I acknowledge what is happening. But then I can’t stop myself as my arms wrap around his body and I'm pushing into him as much as I can.
He’s turning us around backing me up to his car door. The kisses becoming hungrier, needier. His hands have moved down to my ass. Holding me as close to him as possible. I can’t stop the roving my hands are doing. Finding their way to that sweet soft black hair.
I can’t let go. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this. What it feels like to not have a single space between us. What it feels like for Cardan's hand to be intertwined with my hair, pulling me into him.
“See I told you Jude had a boyfriend!”.
I hate my life.

[Gavin Month AU Prompt] [Part One]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little less than a year later, I sat in the conference room while Anna spoke, tapping my pen out of boredom while staring out the window, no doubt with a dull, blank expression painting my features. I glanced down at my wrist for a moment, at the timer flashing on it in jet black ink.
[[MORE]]
2 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 22 seconds... no, 21... it kept counting down.
Was it being truthful? Was I actually meeting my soulmate, the one I was really meant to be with, on my twenty second birthday? Or was it false?
I didn't know what to believe.
Next to me, Minor, some guy that apparently went to high school with me, sharply poked my cheek, causing me to whip around to glare at him. "What?" I hissed, quietly to avoid attracting attention to myself.
Looking up, though, I realised it didn't matter how loud or soft my voice was; everyone's eyes were already on me. I squirmed under Anna's hawk eyes. "Sorry, Anna..."
She huffed, then sighed. "Sorry doesn't cut it, but since you're the boss, I'll give you a pass – this time." Turning her attention back to the clipboard she held, she announced loudly, "As I was saying, our plan to film Loveland City's police officers on and off the field has been approved so long as we can get at least one of them to agree to being filmed. And that's where you come in, Emci."
"Whoa, whoa – me?" I echoed, gulping. "Why me?"
"Because you're the boss," she said, with an expression that screamed duh! "Who else would be better to introduce our company to the officers than the head of the company herself? You don't have to film if you don't want to, but you're going as the representative in two days."
I shot up to my feet. "Two days?! But that's my birthday! I can't work on my birthday!"
Anna seemed to curse under her breath. "Sorry, Emci, I forgot; but I already promised that I was sending our boss over as the representative. If you at least do that, I promise you I won't schedule you for anything else that day."
I sighed, slumping back into my seat. "Fine," I grumbled.
"Thank you," she said, then mouthed "I'm sorry" to me before calling the meeting to an end.
I let everyone file out, until it was just me, Anna, Willow, Kiki, and Minor left in the room. Minor started to speak, "Say, Boss, how about—"
"Get out," I cut him off, pointing to the door. He merely nodded and exited the room, knowing better than to protest with the temper I had occasionally in the workplace.
The girls slowly approached me. Anna was the first one to say anything. "Emci, really, I'm sorry. I completely forgot that it was your birthday, and I—"
"It's okay, seriously. I'm not upset," I interrupted with a small smile. "What time am I going over? So I know to tell Chase to change our plans accordingly."
She checked her clipboard. "They're expecting you to arrive at eleven that morning."
I nodded. "I'll make sure to set an alarm." Having said that, I typed myself an alarm onto my phone to remind myself to set my alarm clock for 10am tonight, then another one for tomorrow to remind myself to have my alarm clock go off at 10am on my birthday. Then, seeing everything was in order, I turned back to staring out the window.
Willow gently laid a hand on my shoulder. "This is about your soulmate timer, isn't it?"
I sighed. "Yeah. I don't know if it's a trick or if I'm actually meeting the person I'm meant to spend the rest of my life with this week. I don't know what to believe."
"I think it'll all work out," she reassured me, and I glanced over to catch her shooting me a warm smile, which made me feel better.
Kiki, ever the fangirl, was bouncing on her toes. "What if your soulmate actually is Chase, but you just didn't know it?!"
I pouted. "I don't think that's how soulmates work..."
Anna shook her head. "No, it's not. If Chase really was her soulmate, her timer would've stopped ticking already."
Kiki frowned, then grinned. "Oh, oh! What if, when you're on your birthday date with Chase, your soulmate walks by, and you lock eyes, and fall in love at first sight... and then you ditch Chase for him!"
I rolled my eyes. "Even if I met my soulmate while on a date with Chase, I'm not that mean."
"Yeah, do you even know the boss?" Willow scoffed. "If her date was a fly, she still wouldn't ditch him for her soulmate."
"Hey!" I protested, to which she just shrugged, as if to say, you know it's true.
Kiki's face lit up one last time. "What if your soulmate is the police officer that agrees to filming?!"
I couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, that's ridiculous. No way my soulmate is someone as terrifyingly cool as an officer."
"I don't know about that, but I don't think she's going to meet her soulmate while on the job," Anna agreed.
"Yeah, now you're just letting the sugar cookies get to your brain," Willow giggled.
"Come on! It could totally happen!"
"Yeah, right," I said after calming down. "Get back to work." I stood and headed for the door, the girls following me.
"Anything is possible, okay?!" Kiki insisted, but we just kept giggling at her dreamy fangirl idea.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
10:59am.
It was my birthday, and I was now twenty two. We pulled up to the police station, and I got out of Chase's car after discreetly checking my wrist; 12 minutes left on the timer, and counting. Standing there, I took a deep breath.
What if Kiki was right? What if my soulmate really is a police officer?
I just hope he isn't some old guy...
"Hey, babe, calm down," Chase urged, kissing my cheek. "You'll do fine!"
I inhaled again, and nodded. "Yeah. You're right."
"Of course I'm right. Knock em dead, babe!" He pecked my lips and, walking backwards, called out, "I'm taking you out for some birthday dinner, so don't make any plans tonight!"
I nodded, smiling and waving as he drove away. As I watched the car disappear from my sight, something in my stomach churned. This isn't right, I thought. I knew it wasn't right, but I was so scared I'd never meet my soulmate that I tried to hype myself up for a life with him. I could have it good if I settled down with him; Chase was financially stable and could give me a good life, with a beautiful home and some beautiful children, if we really wanted it.
But... would it really be a happy life?
Turning back to the station, I stared at it with a newfound determination, and marched up the steps.
Just naturally, my nerves caused me to go about asking what I came there to do entirely wrong, resulting in a one-sided argument that I was about to get kicked out for, but then...
"Hey! What's going on here?!"
Another officer entered my sight, his voice booming and echoing through the room. He was young, his hair a light caramel, and it was shaggy, some of it just barely falling over his golden honey coloured eyes. He was tall, and confident; he seemed like a dependable officer — no, a dependable person. His face was stone cold serious, which made my hands sweat, but I still started to explain, "Well, I was told earlier this week that I could — OUCH!" The moment his eyes zeroed in on mine, a sharp pain flared through my wrist, and I yelped, immediately clutching it, trying to ease away the pain with my thumb, though oddly enough the pain had subsided just as quickly as it had appeared.
I suddenly felt compelled to look for a clock to check the time. 11:11am.
I didn't understand why I'd felt that, but apparently this officer did, his face visibly growing pale. He stepped towards me, holding his hand out, and said, "Let me see your wrist." The others seemed to feel threatened, taking a few small steps away. I guessed that what he said had sounded like a demand to them, but to me it seemed more of a gentle request, and I couldn't say no.
I did as I was told, hoping it would get me out of this situation, and the man took hold of my arm and slowly, so painfully slow it was suspenseful, rolled my sleeve up enough to reveal my wrist. My mouth dropped into a gasp, my eyes widening.
My timer read zero. Underneath it, the name "Gavin" began to etch itself onto my skin in cursive.
No way, I thought, glancing back up at the man who held my wrist. He stared at the finished timer and the name with a blank expression. "You're... Gavin?"
My voice shook him from his trance, and he fixed that emotionless gaze on me, staring into my eyes. For a moment I was afraid he'd yell at me for assuming, and kick me out of the police station, and I'd have to walk back to my office building where Anna would never let me hear the end of it for not getting an officer to agree to the filming... but to my surprise, his eyes softened, and a small smile stretched across his lips. "Did no one tell you how soulmates work?"
I shook my head, and admitted sheepishly, "Not really..."
He sighed, but his smile stayed. He let go of my arm and pulled up his sleeve, showing me his timer, which was also at zero... and, as I kept staring, my name, "Emci", drew itself under his timer in the same elegant cursive. "It felt like an electric shock, right?" Gavin asked, to which I nodded. "That's what they say it feels like when you lock eyes with your soulmate and your timer stops counting down."
I merely stared at him, dumbfounded. "You mean... you... it's you?"
Gavin laughed — a melodic sound that was too contagious to not laugh with him. "That's what I've been trying to tell you, silly." He lowered his sleeve and waved his hand, shooing away the other officers, who grunted before leaving. "What are you here for, anyway?"
"Oh!" I exclaimed, being reminded of my task. "I work at a producing company. I was told we were given permission to film what officers do on and off the field as long as we got at least one officer's consent. Since I'm the head of the company, they decided I should go represent us and see who was willing."
"Well, you got what you needed. Let's go; we'll start with off the field." Gavin winked at me, ruffling my hair before he grabbed my hand and led me out of the police station.
I didn't expect I'd ever find my soulmate, since I thought my timer had somehow gone haywire. And yet, here he was, leading me towards a shiny, sleek motorcycle, and even though I technically had a boyfriend, I felt overjoyed that I finally knew who I was really meant to spend the rest of my life with.
His hand felt so warm in mine, that when he let go to grab a motorcycle helmet, my hand felt cold, and I wanted nothing more than to hold hands with him again. He offered the helmet to me, and I put it on while he grabbed another and asked, while slipping it on and tossing one leg over the side of the bike, "Where to?"
I got on behind him, then groaned as I remembered what Anna said when she assigned this to me. "I actually wasn't planning on doing anything more than coming here to get someone to agree to the show; it's my birthday, so..."
"It's your birthday? Happy birthday!"
Though I already had multiple people wish me a happy birthday so far, his felt like the most important one, and my chest swelled, my cheeks feeling warm. "Thank you. I'm twenty two today."
"Twenty two? I'm twenty four. Anyway, where to? I'll take you somewhere for your birthday."
I smirked when he turned his head to look at me. "Surprise me."
He grinned, and started the motorcycle's engine, and I held onto his waist tightly as we started going.
