NEW CONCERT ON THE HORIZON..... Going to see Franz Ferdinand next year !!!
#new concert new reason to feel some trace of excitement and joy in life#and yes this is the mysterious 3rd band i refered to in my earlier post today#for once i don't have to go miles away and abroad for something like this also#i mean i didn't have to do that for my earlier concerts this year that i also enjoyed very much#but those weren't *MY* favourite bands but rather stuff that mostly my dad enjoys lol#so yeah this is very cool. i've been thinking sometimes over the last couple of weeks#that they're this rare band i like that's also famous enough that maybe there's chance they'd tour around here. and behold!!!#but also god why is deciding to buy and then bying concert tickets the most nerve-wracking thing ever#well whatever it's gonna be fun i'm sure#i've discovered this year that the joy of concerts is truly like nothing else in this world#and i need more of that in my life very badly. already been missing it since my last one in april#and ofc it's just about a month and a half left now to my long awaited one! #their stuff is really good if you like shoegaze/noise pop#a lot of their stuff definitely skews darker both in sound and topics though#the album pictured here is hades (the nine stages of change at the deceased remains)#it’s very good but if you couldn’t tell from the title. it is very dark#so big trigger warning for suicide and corpses. and just overall themes of grief if that’s something you’d be bothered by#but that aside i totally recommend it. even though i’m good listening to their stuff it still elicits some disturbing visuals for me lol#i’m gonna bump this post as propaganda though because i can’t recommend this band to anyone else 💀💀#my dead girlfriend#me.txt

#its especially funny when its some norwegian metal band my brother likes or something#like are your tour managers actually trying to kill you who planned this#but also a reason i barely go to concerts bc its like lol pay 180 bucks to stand in blaring heat 🫶#um.... im okay#i went to florence and the machine a while back and while it was a great concert and she did amazing#it was a 40 degree day and even tho she didnt come out til the sun was setting it was still 37° out and there was no seating#so i ended up stripping half my dress off and just having the underskirt and my bra on and so did p much everyone else bc we were dying#and she kept stopping the show bc she was seeing people faint in the audience and would ask security to go check on them#also winter here is perfect??? like it doesnt snow it doesnt rain much its often 20-23 c during the day so im just ?????#do a winter show and leave the summer shows for places that are ice tundras in the winter or something idk#if skz does come here this yr which they might not i mean there was 4 years between the first concerts here and the last#but i hope its in autum winter early spring lol

ok so I get the schools football team is great and you can afford to spend thousands of dollars on signs that glow when they play and shit but can you go back to not charging kids for pads. or at least stocking the dispensers that do
#rant in tags sorry lol i hate it here#anyways#I don't generally take change with me when i go to the bathroom mid class#believe it or not#and half the time the dispensers are empty or broken anyway#“but then kids will just take them all” 1) how would anybody casually walk out of the restroom with 50 tampons#2) i think youd live#use that money you're always bragging on for something thats NOT showy sports gear or a fucking ten thousand dollar chandelier#hate rich schools because they have so much money they dont even bother spend it right#dont even get me started on the band#i like band !!! band is cool !!!! however my former high school had a great band#and they didn't BEG THEIR MEMBERS to sponsor THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EACH FOR#on top of what they already have#AND THEY HAVE A LOT.#tbh ive never met more spoiled kids than the band ones at my school in my life#“we didn't get to have 5 field trips to amusement parks this year. just four. of COURSE im upset; they dont fund band enough”#that kid got jumped on by three art kids and a teacher when that came out 😭😭😭#they just expect this shit#do they notice what its taking from everyone else#i have a teacher whos worked with this school for like 25 years. which is remarkable as this school isnt very old. or this town#compared to my other schools at least#and every day she goes on about How Much She Hates what theyre doing#but she wont leave because she likes to teach#shes watched the school slowly transfer more and more of its budget to showy extra things#and give less and less to necessities#more money does not help.#not only is there nothing more they can take from some families without driving us out‚ but they'll just keep wasting it.#theyre spoiled fucking rotten and you can't give them anything because itll never go where you want#out of tags but yeah i hate them and something needs to be done about the district#school problems

#like it makes sense obviously that people would. i guess. but i thought most people who didn't like it just didn't like#it because they didn't like patrick all that much or it was too different or they were just upset about fob's hiatus.#like idk i feel like calling patrick's lyricism bad is a little unfair.#like not to compare 2 bad bitches but he's right there. so pete writes comparatively just as cheesy lyrics.#i like that. don't get me wrong. thinking about my relationship with fashion and being nonbinary and being black and I simply can't forgive the white queers for making me think the "default" nonbinary was just being skinny and masc
but also shoutout to all the nonbinary poc (especially black nonbines) that break that stigma. goes to show that even in the grander scheme of the alphabet mafia you still need your own communities to resonate with

#I wish I knew how to do those fancy edits with the gradient colours or whatever#you'll have to make do with the fact that I can make barely passable gifs lol#this interview is so good I could talk about it for a WHILE#Matt talks about how post Twilight; Muse—very much a rock band—have an almost 50-50 split in their audience#at least in the US—somewhat unusual for a rock band#that's an interesting point#because I feel like even at the height of macho rockdom audiences were always fairly evenly split#if they weren't it's saying something about you as an artist lol#of course on actual lineups things were a bit different unfortunately#(I am enjoying saying 'were' since there are now so many incredible bands that aren't just 4 dudes looking at their feet—but then for some#reason that doesn't REFLECT in things like festival lineups so 'were' is a lie)#and it's not that there aren't great acts with women on the instruments and all-female bands and bands with female singers#and bands with nonbinary and trans people leading the way#—like. As someone working in indie/ish radio I see these bands. I hear their music. I play their music. But the festivals like to pretend#there are 3 rock bands ever and no girl has ever professionally played guitar it's annoying#like some festivals are just SO DESPERATE to ignore that there are girls in instrument-based bands. They'll look everywhere else.#They take rock festivals etc. and start adding pop artists so that they can lazily show that they're making an effort at diversity or whate#but they ignore the women literally IN the genre of their festivals. I'll never understand it.#but yeah interesting of Muse to point out in 2010 about their audience. Success, my dad told me today that he listened to Flood at work, and TWICE at that. Could it be that the TMBG propaganda is also working at last
#he says he likes istanbul and dead or rather the backup vocals on it more specifically#and that it's pretty funny but also varied and fun#i was starting to think that everyone around me would just find them too 'weird' you know. so this is a pleasant surprise#meanwhile my brother who's actually supposed to be going to the show with me still hasn't listened to them!!!#at this rate he's going to be the only person standing close to the stage who doesn't know a single lyric#while everyone else sings along. kind of a sad vision#but anyway i told my dad to listen to john henry next and i hope he likes it. he likes 'harder' stuff like hard rock and metal#so this should be right up his alley#it being an undeniably more rocking album than most of tmbg's other stuff#omg lol just as i'm finishing writing this i got a very exciting email that i can't really talk about publicly. concerning some other band#and some sort of delivery??? maybe???#damn today has been a fine day and tomorrow might be even better (i might be posting something regarding that when the time arrive#s)#goosepost

Officially saw my first tbs concert! Feeling uhh. Very tired. But fuuck they were a blast
#tho it was cool to see several other bands i like play beforehand i uhhh. would much rather see tbs in a regular tour#cause that was exhausting as fuck. waaay too hot and the crowd was trash for most of the bands#and by the time tbs came on i was already tired as hell and had pulled something in my leg :(!#went hard anyway tho and almost pulled something else during flicker fade 🪦 why am i like 20 something in a 64yo man's body#anyway. adam was the biggest goofy dork ass ever and also sooo handsome and i need his hand in marriage immediately 💖 lol#also john was so girlfriend#his little bit abt technically being from Baltimore was endearing af like he is sooo sweet and awkward 😭#they also all sounded so good. #I actually like the background piano of this more than I like the weird singing improvised over it#probably just because it was vaguely cool to clank out something that even vaguely sounds like maybe an actual chord#that might exist or something despite - again- having so little clue about the piano or how to read music that I could#not even point out like what the names of the notes are or etc. ghghjbj#Which is still funny because if you improvise something and also have no idea how to read or identify musical notes then you will#never be able to play it again because you couldn't identify how to lol. THAT'S WHY I LIKE singing!!! I could hear any tune once and on the#spot repeat it back exactly as long as it's within the range of noises I am physically capable of producing#But with tangible insturments it's like... you have to memorize.. the names of things. or where to put your hands. or#be able to name and recognize something and keep that in your head. Whereas voice noises just come instinctually and naturally#I do think I could probably learn an instrument if I really tried but I guess the thing is just like.. I already have 4724867289 other hobb#es that I am trying to split my time between that I barely have enough energy to dedicate to all of them and hardly make#progress at any of them because I'm spread so thin jumping back and forth between them. should i REALLY pick up another???#one thats going to take years and years and lots of practice?? It's kind of like learning languages. I REALLY want to learn some other#languages and I'm not like terrible at it from times that I've started to beofre in school and stuff. but it's just like.. do I really have#the TIME?? I think I need a logical justification to warrant a certain level of investment like.. if I knew for certain that in a year I'd#be moving to france then of course I could dedicate many hours to learning french because now it's necessary and despite#all of my other projects that I have going on I need to make time for it. But if I'm just learning it for the sake of doing it? then??#why should I not simply dedicate that same amount of time to my writing or my sculptures or something else? etc?? Like if I for some reason#was talked into starting a band with one of my friends or something then yeah maybe I'd learn an instrument but. I just see no#practical need to or way to justify the time investment when I currently have so many other things going on and music is my silly hobby lol#ANYWAY.. all that to say. also i’m going to the record store tomorrow. will update you all on what items i purchase
#probaby just a bunch of cds.. maybe a vinyl record or two but i don’t have a great setup to play vinyl at the moment.. so maybe not#i’m at the point in cd collecting where i already own most of what i want#and everything else is either really obscure/rare. or really expensive. or both#like i looked up a band i’ve been listening to a lot lately on the record store’s website and found no results LOL#if nothing else i will buy a bunch of punk compilations and call it a day#punk goes pop and punk o rama my beloveds <3#oh and going to the record store is a Big Deal bc the chain my parents and i like to shop at has no locations in our state#so it’s a 90 minute drive to the nearest location#so i need to find something good to make the trip worth it. which i’m sure i will. so i will update you guys on what that is tomorrow#txt
