I don’t have the largest vocabulary in jp so I tried my best. Additionally, I should say, words that may have near identical definitions tend to have slight differences so I may have not captured the precise intention since I’m not an actual translator but hope the general meanings help.

収束の矢(しゅうそく・の・や): had to look up the first half definition but all together it means “arrow/symbol of a laser” or kind of, after discussing with a friend who said isn’t that just a laser I simplified it but the full translation is a bundle of light converging into one point, the arrow part is referring to the symbol and so it’s explaining what the symbol or “arrow” means

浮遊の矢(ふゆう•の•や): had to look up the definition of the first half but it seems it means to float around or to walk around as if one is floating and so an arrow for floating around

冷やす矢(ひやす•や): it mean to cool something so a cooling arrow

集める矢(あつめる•や): a symbol to gather or collect

風の紋(かぜ•の•もん): wind crest

水の紋(みず•の•もん): water crest

風の矢(かぜ•の•や): wind arrow

気休を示す矢(気やすめ•しめす•や): arrow that shows reassurance (a bit tricky to translate since I’m not familiar with the term but from what I gather it’s to take away worry at a given time though this reassurance can be false words of comfort)

つむじ風の紋(つむじかぜ•の•もん): crest of the whirlwind (did not know the difference between this and a tornado turns out it’s the lack of clouds involved)

足場のある紋 (あしば•の•ある•もん) : scaffolded crest, Not sure if the name is in reference to the symbol or the symbol meaning, because it could be that it referring to how the base s like symbol has extra support drawn around it but the symbol in itself could have the meaning of support/scaffolding

安定の矢、平行の矢 (あんてい•の•や、へいこう•の•や) : Arrow of stability, Parallel arrow, also the “symbol や symbol “ is like “this or that” statement about the two symbols shown so it’s saying the name/words applies to both of those two symbols

領域の矢 (りょういき•の•や) : domain arrow, other English words that may fit is region/territory

繰り返し紋 (くりかえし•もん) : crest of repetition (to repeat)

照準の矢 (しょうじゅん•の•や) : arrow of aiming

巻きつきの矢 (まきつき•の•や) winding arrow or maybe wrapping arrow

Just got a scan of the bonus content for Witch Hat Atelier volume 12 (courtesy of Arthur N), and it contains some of the most valuable magic system info we have EVER received. Only problem is that it needs to be translated.

For some context, the page contains 6 spells we have never seen the full designs for alongside descriptions for what they do. However, the thing of most importance important is what lies below the descriptions; keys explaining the functions of the individual signs and sigils within each spell. This is what we (the WHA wiki discord) need help translating.

Only underlined text needs to be translated (red is highest priority, green lowest). If you know anyone who may be able to translate this, (other than hypomanix, as I already messaged them) it would be greatly appreciated if you help me to get in touch with them.

I have literally NEVER asked for reblogs (or retweets) in my life, but just this once, I'm going to ditch my pride and ask that you guys help me share this post. This info could literally revolutionize the way we as fans make our spells, and it wouldn't feel right for me not to do everything I can to bring this info to everyone as soon as possible.

Today on 1am Star Wars thoughts, I have a gripe about the fandom’s gripes about Padme’s blue nightgowns.

Every time I see someone talking about them it feels like it’s always based on the assumption that we’re meant to believe that this is her normal sleepwear. That we’re meant to accept the premise of a woman sleeping with styled hair and a full face of makeup and a dress with strands of pearls on it as normal, everyday behavior.

But the thing is, I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. (I mean, maybe George thinks like that but there’s a whole team of people behind every costume you see on screen and the director is not the only one with input)

Because the thing is we’ve seen other instances of Padme’s sleepwear.

Twice in Attack of the Clones we get glimpses of her sleepwear but the scene where we get the best look is at the lake house where she is wearing a pretty but fairly normal looking nightgown with a dark blue robe over it. By the time the blue nightgowns come in we’ve already seen her in normal sleepwear. So… what changes between then and when the blue nightgowns appear?

She gets married and her husband goes to war.

I don’t think we’re meant to assume that she’s just suddenly in the last couple years developed a taste for extremely uncomfortable sleepwear. I don’t think those nightgowns are really sleepwear. Padme may fall asleep in them but she’s not putting them on to sleep, she’s putting them on to spend a rare night with her husband who is back from deployment.

It’s “welcome home” lingerie.

It’s quite conservative, this is technically meant to be a family friendly movie and besides they’re dealing with the logistics of Padme’s pregnancy so baring her midriff or back probably weren’t really options and they’d pretty solidly established a language for Padme’s costuming that doesn’t involve cleavage. But I think from an adult perspective we’re supposed to recognize that the married couple who have conceived a child are having sex. And are meant to be able to add up the facts provided and recognize that a young couple spending long stretches of time apart are may be spending the time they have together engaging in activities that sometimes result in Padme falling asleep in sexy, uncomfortable nightwear rather than changing into something more comfortable.

Anyway, that’s my personal opinion/headcanon. Padme does have comfortable nightgowns, we’ve seen them, she’s breaking out the space lingerie because her husband has been away and she’s missed him and she wants to enjoy their alone time before they have kids and that time gets even more limited.

I can’t stop thinking about Remus representing jealousy and envy, in the same way Roman isn’t just creativity, he’s also ego, pride, and passion. It always felt a little lopsided to me that they were halves a whole, and yet Roman has all this extra stuff. But what if Remus has some extra stuff of his own, things that mirror Roman’s extra stuff. 

Consider the feeling you get when you work very hard on something creative, something you’re proud of, only for your work to be passed over for someone else. Consider the envy you might feel when someone else succeeds in the same area you wish you could. Even when it’s a friend, someone you care about, that feeling creeps up sometimes. Don’t you deserve the recognition just as much as they do, if not more? Or maybe, they made something better than you, and you wish it was yours. Either way, that’s envy. Wanting something someone else has. 

Alternatively, consider jealousy, in a romantic sense. The moments when your partner seems to click with someone else, or someone flirts with them, or they’re just plain spending more time with other people than you. It happens, it’s normal. But you can’t help that niggling sense of jealousy in the back of your mind, fueled by insecurity and fear of losing the one you love, that some might take what’s yours away from you. Maybe you imagine in great detail what they’re doing right now, or any number of scenarios in which they leave you or cheat on you. You know you’re being irrational, but even so it’s hard to put those thoughts to rest. 

In both cases, these aren’t wanted feelings, but they’re there anyway, a lot like intrusive thoughts (and in fact in some situations they can be a form of intrusive thought!), and they’re also both extensions of things that Roman represents. Envy and jealousy are both forms of desire tempered with ego and insecurity.

So, where Roman is pride in your work, and desire and passion for your partner, and Remus is wondering why someone else got rewarded for their work and you didn't, and the fear someone will take away the one you love.

In other words, Remus makes you green with envy.
