Bc theyre wonderful?? I think I binge read every fic that didn't imply horror in the notes or summary (I am,,, a Scaredy Cat) But! None of my friends are too into fe so I have no one to yell headcanons at, and you seem to be taking them! So here's one that's been on my mind for a while: (1/2 jdkdn) ✨

Olivia is a v good dancer w bad anxiety, Lazlow/Inigo is as well, but Soliel doesn’t seem to have so much and isn’t a good dancer? I haven’t gotten all her supports tho so I might be wrong. But! From my irl experience, ballet dancers have a lot of anxiety bc of how they’re supposed to breath and look (although Olivia and Inigo don’t seem to have many body issues but there is a v specific body shape ballerinas are told to have)(2/3 ig whoops I talk too much)✨

but theyre taught to breath v shallowly which can make anxiety a lot worse? So basically the headcanon that I’m trying to get at is that neither Olivia nor Inigo really seem to breath too much (they never seem out of breath or anything) but Xander doesnt like it bc 1) harder to tell if Lazlow is breathing or smthing and 2) Xander canonly has social anxiety (I think? In Sakuras support he says smthing like that,,) and he knows that lazlows breathing is Not Good (3/3 ok done Im sry this is long) ✨

I know next to nothing about ballet, so I’m taking what you say as truth and have no outside knowledge otherwise, fyi. But! Olivia and Inigo are definitely very anxious! Though their anxieties seem to express themselves in slightly different ways, there’s a lot of overlap between them too. Thankfully Soleil doesn’t seem to have inherited that at all, even if she canonically didn’t inherit any of their dance skills either. Though you’re also right that none of them seem to have any obvious body issues that I can recall. (Soleil definitely doesn’t.) That doesn’t mean they aren’t still concerned with how they look on stage though. Dancing properly is the #1 priority for Olivia and Inigo.

I can definitely see how breathing shallowly would make their anxiety harder for them! Especially if they continued to breath shallowly in their day to day life when not on stage (though idk how common that is for ballet dancers or dancers in general.) If Olivia or Inigo/Laslow were having an anxiety attack or getting very anxious (i.e. working up to an attack), for example, it would be way better for them to take deep breaths. If their breaths are too shallow and their anxiety too much, it could make them feel like they were choking or couldn’t get enough air or something. Which would definitely be Not Good. That’s something I never thought about before! Good catch!

Xander did canonically have social anxiety that he talks about in Sakura’s Support, yeah! He conquered it in different ways than Laslow though. Laslow’s anxiety seems to be ongoing while Xander’s seems to be behind him. But I bet Xander can still remember a few breathing techniques he taught himself/learned when he was younger, and maybe he could connect with Laslow on that level too if they ever bonded over that. That’d be a neat scene.

reading the hitball arc my brain is picking up so many little bits of info but has no idea how to put them all together to form any kind of coherent analysis (cue me rambling aimlessly as i try 2 find that thesis statement) ((this devolved into garbled passionate yelling real quick))

previously “established” in another “text post” i made “a few months ago”: during the game max is wearing wristbands, one blue and one red, which for the sake of this thought process i take to represent max n johnny respectively

also went over how max switching both wristbands to the same arm post-game ~symbolically~ parallels him & johnny having worked together to defeat hijack & come to understand each other a little better & the bands being on the same arm now represents them being on the same team/side

at one point during the game max gets all shaken up abt having dodged one of hijeff’s earlier attacks instead of like standing his ground i guess?? putting himself before his teammates??? am i interpreting this right i feel like im missing smth

one of the key pieces of the game is the golden switch, a ball that has the power to make anyone hit by it switch teams & join sides with the one who threw it at them. this is the ball used in the final play of the game in which max and johnny work together to take down hijeff for good

in said final play, 1) the golden switch hits max, probably symbolic of smth, & 2) breaks one of his arms, the one w/ the blue wristband- based on the color theory i feel like this should also be symbolic of smth somehow ?? max making a sacrifice in order to become a team w/ johnny?? a self-sacrifice??? is the injury representative of itself???? is it literally just as simple as “max is the one that got hurt so the arm w/ the blue band gets broken” ????? but throughout this entire comic thus far max has been first and foremost his own top priority meaning that he doesn’t do anything for anyone else unless there’s something in it for him, he’s not the type of guy to make sacrifices for other people, or more specifically for “The Greater Good” and, considering how shaken up he got earlier about instinctively jumping out of the way of hijeff’s attack while everyone else jumped right in its path to protect each other, it’s kind of a big deal for him to now be putting himself directly in harm’s way instead of like finagling the situation into making johnny the throwaway instead (esp bc max has every reason to believe johnny deserves to have pain inflicted on him more anyway) so maybe the break represents some kind of shattered mindset that he had to undergo in order to then effectively team up w/ johnny??? which would make the metaphor like

After watching The Devil Wears Prada i immediately needed to watch a GOOD movie, so i ended up watching this academy-award winning movie made officially this time last year. People i love rave about this movie. I did not like it...unfortunately So basically i fucking hated emma stone's character. Like wow. What a truly terrible person she was. Ryan reynolds-i mean-ryan gosling also had a very questionable role. I was dead unlucky in trying to watch a movie thats NOT about white people all the time!!! But ok. Lets push aside race, and focus solely on the movie as itself for now. Movie starts off p interesting with a very colorful cast of clearly talented ppl who can sing, dance, and act. All kinds of nationalities, LITERALLY shoving the fact that theyre all wearing different colors and have different colored cars in ur face. Its great and amazing. Too bad that doesnt represent the cast of characters AT ALL. Emma Stone is in a montage of being a sad coffee waitress who wants to act for a living in Los Angeles. Ok. But the bitch is SO rude!!! She doesnt even pay attention to driving on the freaking highway, she spills coffee on this one guy, and she gets sassy when someone asks if a food is gluten-free(which is a MEDICAL ISSUE that shouldnt be coughed up to being "a typical hipster complaint") all just so she can pursue her career as an actress. So. She goes to audition. GIRL. LEARN. HOW TO. ACT!!! In no way am i trashing Emma Stone's acting, to be clear. When i refer to her, i refer to her character's own attempts at acting....which is bad. So she sucks at acting. Wow, her life is so hard, she has to own a fancy car, have only one job as a coffee waitress to pursue her acting dream, a super fancy apartment with matching wall decals that prove how dedicated she is to film, a RICH and LOVING boyfriend, AND...she gets to go to rich parties and wear fancy dresses. What a hard, hard life. But wait a motherfucking second!!!! RYAN MY BOI Ryan, Ryan, Ryan. Your love of playing piano and jazz i respect. You wanting to own a jazz club is perfectly fine. What i don't understand is this movie's INSISTENCE that Ryan is "preserving the history of jazz". What a crock of shit. Ryan sweeps Emma Stone off her feet, the two of them with a megaphone mantra "REACH...FOR THE STARRRRRSSSSS!!!!" Emma Stone CHEATS on her didn't-do-a-fucking-thing-wrong boyfriend to see a movie with Ryan Gosling. And that movie is: Rebel Without A Cause. Another showstopper about a sad white couple. So good for them, i guess. Ryan subsequently "teaches" her about the beauty of jazz, and how amazing it is. Fair enough. One might even say he is teaching her about how to live life? EH. If you think about it, this movie's plot is heavy on Ryan teaching Emma Stone how to live life, instead of the other way around. It's subtle, but REALLY can you find one scene where Emma teaches him about the wonders of acting??? NOPE THEN JOHN LEGEND SHOWS UP and plays the villianous role of stealing Ryan away from the pure form of jazz into pop electronica. Because its evil now. In this universe. Like, really? Of ALL the people you could've had play either of those roles, you had to have RYAN WHITE BOY GOSLING play a character that wants to preserve a music genre originally created by african americans fighting against the "sell-out" JOHN LEGEND, who in reality is a talented african-american musician????? This argument is not mine to make, so I won't try to delve further than that, but huh. Like, there are so many other talented jazz musicians that deserve to be in Ryan Gosling's shoes that its such a waste of talent. And I hope someone freaking noticed that the entire movie felt like the producers were checking off a box on a list labelled ENOUGH MINORITIES AND INTERRACCIAL COUPLES IN THE BACKGROUND SO PEOPLE WON'T CALL US OUT. Anyways, the two have some emotional fight and break up for following their dreams or smthing...idunno... I've heard a lot of people complaining about the ending of this movie, but TBH i thought it was better than the rest of the movie. OF COURSE Emma Stone somehow...is successful...richER...and back to the man she once cheated on. Ryan's good too. The end. What a moving love story. Love me a female protagonist that cheats on her boyfriend to follow her acting career supported by INVISIBLE MONEY Seriously though. If a movie is going to have the pivital message be "follow your dreams", then it better be a godamn children's animated feature film. Because i feel like as a generation, we're beyond that whole 20th century america thing...you know, that thing? Where you can achieve anything as long as you believe in magic? Yeah, no.
