Papercraft Tohru - and Yuki, and Kyo! And some little fruit details, because, after all... Fruits Basket! 🍎
I got pretty emotional making this one! Fruits Basket had a huge, profound effect on me in my teens, and I often curled up with it for comfort and a sense of companionship during hard times. Now as an adult, it's been a while since I've read the whole series through, but I pick up random volumes fairly often and skim through them to get that familiar rush of warmth. It's still such a lovely series!
#fruits basket#tohru honda#yuki sohma#kyo sohma#papercraft#papercutting#paper art#traditional art#my art#it was interesting to grow with the series#as a teen the first half resonated with me most#and while I enjoyed the second half I didn't love it quite the same way#as a young adult rereading the series I enjoyed the first half but didn't feel that same resonance#whereas when I hit the second half THERE was the jolt of Oh! It's me!!#as a full-on adult human I always get nostalgic and happy when rereading old volumes#but while I can remember identifying with the characters with my ENTIRE VIBRATING SOUL the feeling is less intense nowadays#then the sequel came out and I figured Heck yeah time to check in on the old faves. Nostalgia time#half a chapter in and BAM! sitting on the floor full-on crying!!!#they made it! these characters I loved and grew with made it!!#they reached adulthood and created families and found their happinesses and loved and loved and loved!!!#and so have I!!!!!!#the takeaway is that fruits basket is VERY powerful and I will be in its gentle grip forever apparently

Wasn't going to see Deadpool 3 bc I'm not up to date on the MCU and don't care to be. But I was at the mall for roach traps bc my landlord sucks, so I wanted escapism. Going to this and getting some top-tier ramen after was some nice short-notice therapy.
Good news: if you were a y2k baby and X-Men were your childhood, it's nostalgic AF. The only modern thing you need to know is that there's a bunch of time-space cops and they had a guy go rogue and try to off a branching timeline. Bc no Wolverine = sorry why do y'all exist again? Sadly, no, Hugh Jackman did not get a musical theater sequence he deserves.
But in general, it really was a hit of nostalgia for me. Like, seeing Deadpool dancing to Bye Bye Bye just really hit both those y2k radio and the "sneakily rented DP 1 at 15" points. There is still a lot of juvenile R-rated humor like defiling a corpse and stabbing below the belt to bubblegum pop. I also may have hyena-laughed at the "Disney won't let us do the marching powder" scene.
Tbh I initially wasn't on board with massively blowing up the scale of the conflict from 1 and 2, but it somehow worked with Deadpool's character devolution/recovery. Like yeah, he resigns himself to being a bit character that just sells merch to teens and college kids with utterly rotten sense of humor. And being a used car salesman (truly the 2nd grossest job after working for my landlord). And that bombed interview in the beginning was painful to watch. But it was sweet to watch him realize that he can still help people, even if he's supposed to just be a murderous clown that's an HR nightmare. And awwww, he helped Logan realize that he can still get a 2nd chance, even if he's supposedly the worst Wolverine.
The direction is... well, it's no Leitch with Domino's finessing in 2. But it's still largely readable, obligatory CGI f-fest of the last half aside. And I was suitably disgusted by Emma Corrin's character and the literal picking of brains. Can Levy go study under Raimi and drop a horror movie? I'd watch it! Anyways, imo the most memorable scene was probably the Honda Odyssey fight (aka incredibly obvious subtext for needing to get a room that the entire room caught). But like, guys, a beige af minivan, really? But ya, somewhere, people are pulling up keyboards and AO3.
Anyways, gonna go relisten to the soundtrack now bc mannnnn, everyone involved with music supervision and clearance here deserves cold pillows and perfect-temp coffee for life. Btw the Stray Kids single only appeared in the background as instrumental (but well, they got to film an MV with Reynolds and Jackman and also got that MCU bag).

I drive a 2007 Honda Accord Value Package, and one of the many little quirks it's got is that the radio speakers have a soldering defect and the speakers only work in certain weather conditions, usually colder weather, so fall and winter are "radio season" for me.
I've been collecting CDs this year, and have a vast selection to choose from. I've got a stack of various genres in the console of my car. Lately I've been listening to Nirvana's "Nevermind" on repeat, and when Sam went grocery shopping with me today he remarked on the music.
"This isn't your normal 'screamo'"
"It's Nirvana."
I love the fall weather, but it's especially nostalgic this year now that I've got CDs in the car. I've been in a depressive episode ever since the election results, but this one little thing can bring a moment of light into my day, even if it fades once I leave the car.

Photos: Gwen Stefani celebrates Honda Center’s 30th anniversary with fans in Anaheim
“You are my community, you are my people,” pop star Gwen Stefani told the sold-out and cheering crowd at Honda Center in Anaheim on Saturday night, Sept. 9. “I am so grateful for every single person who listened to my music all these years.”
Stefani — who was born and raised in a home just a few miles from the arena where her band No Doubt formed — received a mighty welcome from the hometown crowd. It was a family affair, too, as her mother and father, Dennis and Patti Stefani, and her younger brother, Todd Stefani, and sister-in-law, Jennifer, were also in attendance and spotted singing along.
Before the show, fans were seen dressed in various signature Stefani style and posing in front of themed photo ops located throughout the arena. While most embraced the No Doubt “Tragic Kingdom” more rockabilly look, others went for Stefani’s “Return of Saturn” cotton candy pink hair era; and there were plenty sporting her more glam L.A.M.B. fashion made popular in her “The Sweet Escape” and “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” solo album days.
Tapped to help the venue celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, Stefani has now played at Honda Center (formerly The Arrowhead Pond) 10 times, tying her with British singer and pianist Elton John and Mexican singer-songwriter and musician Marco Antonio Solís for the artists who have performed on that stage the most.
With it being a hometown show, she did bust out a few things that were special. Since she’s gone solo and No Doubt has been on hiatus since 2015, Stefani has long peppered in No Doubt’s ska and reggae-infused hits with her more pop-focused solo material. And while she’s added some fun covers into the setlist through the years (like “The Tide is High” by The Paragons) and often brings out husband and country star Blake Shelton to duet on a few tunes (the more country-leaning “Nobody But You” “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” and “Happy Anywhere”), there were popular No Doubt songs absent from the performances that fans begged for on social media.
She must have been feeling a bit nostalgic on Saturday night as she busted out a stripped down version of No Doubt’s 1995 single “Excuse Me Mr.,” which she prefaced by saying she hadn’t played it in so long because she had “gotten over it.” She also played the 2000 hit, “Simple Kind of Life,” noting that it was “the first song I wrote on my own on guitar.”

I was tagged by @m34gs in this post HERE! Thanks for the tag, friend! Took me a moment to figure out how to do this. Anyways, I'm done, so let's talk about this!
Anime with a Favourite Opening/Ending Song:
While this was a touch choice, and almost went to Attack on Titan, I picked Jujutsu Kaisen because it's one of the rare anime when I love all the openings. If I had to pick a favourite opening it's a tie between VIVID VICE and Specialz.
Anime you recommend others watch:
Without a shadow of a doubt I recommend Anohana to everyone. It's a coming of age story centred around a difficult topic, yet there are light moments. However, it's an anime that always makes me cry, so be prepared to not just watch a coming of age story but also an emotional character dive.
Anime that shares a genre with the centre anime:
It would have been easy to pick another adventure/fantasy/sci-fi anime and call it a day, but I think I did well picking Sabikui Bisco. The anime is set in a post apocalyptic wasteland. There is awe and wonder outside of the city but also danger. Government cannot be trusted and medicine/scientific advancement is a key element to the story, which are all elements that FMA has.
Anime that shares Eng. VA with touching square:
Laura Bailey who voices Lust in FMA also voices Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket! Actually, Fruits Basket and FMA have many English VA overlaps, but Laura is the one I first thought of!
Favourite Anime of All Time:
Fullmetal Alchemist is my favourite manga of all time, so I had to go with the 2009 remake. While the 2003 anime still holds a nostalgic place in my heart, nothing compares to the manga's story to me.
From the plot, pacing, character arcs and design, and art direction I truly believe Fullmetal Alchemist is a near perfectly written and produced series from Hiromu Arakawa.
Anime that shares Japanese VA with touching square:
Paku Romi who voices Edward Elric in the Japanese version of FMA also voices Hitsugaya Toshiro in Bleach.
Shares a Similar MC Energy with centre square:
The obvious comparison is Senku and Edward are both genius scientists who did the impossible (Senku with his counting and Edward with human transmutation), however there are other traits the two share. Both have a bit of a mischievous side and both can be singularly focused on their scientific goals. Finally, both are hopeful in the face of peril and use their wits and scientific knowledge to win in the end.
Also, as an extra fun fact the English VA for Senku is Aaron Dismuke who voiced Alfonse Elric in the original 2003 FMA anime.
An Anime you read/have the manga of:
I've been reading My Hero Academia (or BNHA) for years. While I don't own it, I read it on the Shonen Jump app. It's a series I'm also enjoying the anime adaptation.
A series with your favourite ship/ship dynamic:
Soukoku (or Dazai/Chuuya from Bungou Stray Dogs) is both my favourite ship in the series and also my favourite ship dynamic.
My favourite part about Soukoku as a ship is the underlying loyalty and trust the two have in one another. Despite everything: their personality clash, their first meeting, Dazai betraying the Port Mafia, they still care for one another. In their own weird ways, yes, but care none the less. How else can the series explain the convoluted schemes in both Dead Apple and in Season 5? That's some "we're two halves of the same whole" level of trust there. They're not even being subtle.
I tag: @a-little-harmed-shinra, @someobscurereference, @shreedle, and @memoryoflife.

Reflecting on the Last Iteration of the Honda Element: A Nostalgic Journey
In the annals of automotive history, the Honda Element remains a distinctive chapter, known for its unique boxy design, practicality, and unmistakable charm. As we look back at the last iteration of this iconic SUV, we are reminded of an era when car design dared to be different. The Honda Element's departure from the production line left a void that nostalgia fills, as we fondly remember its spacious interior, modular features, and a personality that was, quite literally, square. It's a testament to the Element's enduring legacy that enthusiasts still yearn for its return, and even as we gaze into the future of automotive design, we can't help but smile at the memories the Honda Element evokes. you are 26.
which kind of knocked the wind out of you. you don’t feel too far from 16, or 18, or 22, all some of your favorite ages you ever got to be. you’ve outgrown so much. and there is so much yearning and mourning that comes with that. 25 was nothing easy, you know this. you’ll remember 25 as your highest highs and your mundane lows, you’ll remember it for being physically exhausting and mentally excruciating. you’ll remember the 16 hour workdays, split up in fractions between school, non-profit job, and additional job for the bills. you’ll remember the summer you and joie reconnected, how you’d kiss sitting on their honda. you’ll remember how free you felt after june, how lonely and great that summer was. the night you, rocky, and mia packed up the entire apartment and cried together. how much you will miss that home. you’ll remember abuelita’s chemo, and the time they gifted her a knitted hat. you’ll remember her tears of excitement that she felt pretty. you’ll remember your conversations with kito at the wabash apartment. and so much changes at all times, and i think you’ll always struggle with being nostalgic. you lost a friend this year, not in the scary way you’d assume, but more so in honoring yourself. you are closer to your dad than ever, you understand him and forgive him. you created your own home, you found solace in self, you moved out your dads again, you miss your sister everyday despite you guys always speaking, you miss your life sometimes but are in love with this new life. you moved in with joie. they are the first thought you have every morning, every night is a homecoming, every night is a dream. you love them. you love yourself. your sister graduated college. you graduated university. you are so proud of us. you are so proud of yourself. you cried 1000 times over graduation. you cried a 1000 times that you’re alive. and you’re so alive, and you’re remembering that. you are slowly remembering that. congratulations on 26.

The Effect of Pop Culture on the Design of Streetwear: Swagster Club
Streetwear was brought to life by pop culture, which did not take long to turn it into a trend that crossed national borders. It goes from references to films, art to music and infamous movements, its present in almost every stitch and print. A perfect example of this relationship is Swagster Club which is a company that owns some of the earliest streetwear branded T-Shirts, currently identifies itself with contemporary style and narrative.
The origin of streetwear and pop culture
Of course, it would be impossible to address the specifics of streetwear as a fashion phenomenon without stressing its main strength: the relevance of streetwear. Popping up in the late eighties, it had roots in skateboarding, rap music and graffiti. For these reasons streetwear T-Shirts were no longer just clothing but they were so much more- they embodied beacons of identity. Companies like Swagster do so today; with an assortment of prints and fashionable styles which reflect cultural activism.
Icons and Allusions: The Significance of the Pops
For instance, there is the snake design shirt or the venom t-shirt design. If there are such prints, the attention is not only caught but also relates to the wider legend drawn from myths, movies, and music. Likewise, the all-seeing eye T-Shirt has transformed into cultural product, representing arcacity and askance—a must-have staple in menswear of the street ware landscape.
They do not stop at designs here – the link goes further. Other factors such as colors are also used to capture a reflection of pop culture. Light purple T-Shirts such as the ones seen on this link: http://urbanoutfitters.godaddy.com/browse/categoryID/139/index/subcat/16943.htm?itm_medium=CategoryNavigation possess the feeling of past decades as well as whimsical art, while black T-Shirts and beige T-Shirts have the nostalgic and era-less look, so popular right now. These statement T-Shirts are ideal for anyone who wants everyday T-Shirts that are not only comfortable but stylish.
Streetwear in the Local Scene
India too has seen a growing trend of streetwear, which is well found in the shopping malls such as Omaxe Gurgaon Mall and Eros City Square; in Omaxe Mall Gurgaon especially, many shops offer fashion tees with emblematic youth appeal. The extent to which streetwear is popular can be seen from the Omaxe Mall Sohna Road Gurgaon or when you are looking for a mall near me, the trend dominates. Honda Chowk Gurgaon metro station is easy for the fashion lovers who are keen to visit Omaxe Mall Gurgaon Theatre or looking for the stylish market to shop around the nearby areas.
The Role of Bands as well as Songs
Streetwear had never been complete without music. Rock and roll influence does not escape fashion’s trends since band club motifs add rebellious notes to the pieces. This detailed musical relation makes Swagster super-special branded T-Shirts even more desirable by group lovers who enjoy the mixture of melody and art. Whether it is Lyrical text on Pink T-Shirts or Graphic art on premium T-Shirts these are the new trends in men’s T-Shirts fashion.
Low Cost Superstardom & the New Fashion Icon
Streetwear is no longer a non-mas for the privileged; it’s inclusive. Those platforms where T-Shirt is cheaper, T-Shirt singles deals with an exclusive offer to have T-Shirts, or T-Shirts having free shipping make it comfortable copy this trend by everyone. Swagsters have achieved the right balance between cheap fashion or cheap clothing and quality clothing.
While selecting the T-Shirts online, customers have the flexibility of checking out the price range, available color options or option for sorting by size –Small, Medium, Large or Extra-large. From casual wear to relaxed fit T-Shirts, it is possible to tell that the range is inexhaustible.
The Future of Streetwear and Pop Culture
For the streetwear, its effect will grow right along with pop culture as pop culture advances day by day. Such brands as Swagster Club are aware of the newest movies, games, and music trends, and the designs based on them will continue to redefine the masculine style. Whether customers are physically at Omaxe Mall Gurgaon or scrolling through a computer and mobile screens, streetwear serves as a sign board.
Therefore, while putting on streetwear, consumers are not only painting an image of what is fashionable, but are also sending a message. Whether it’s a typographic t shirt or snake design shirt, streetwear gives an opportunity to represent who you are on the outside, to join a like-minded brother/sisterhood among the swag figures of the world.
Find Your Style at Swagster Club
Where can someone find that perfect t-shirt? If you are in Omaxe Mall Gurgaon Sector 49 or simply looking for shopping area near me, Swagster Club is the ultimate place for trendy, comfortable and affordable men’s t-shirts.
