Kokichi, otherwise known as Spotpaw, started as a rogue in a funney little rogue group. can't imagine who they'd be. He joins the clan cus he's interested in their life and also maybe DICE is like slaughtered idk im still figuring that one out. buuuut!! he does join the clan and as you can imagine it goes. great

kaito and kokichi rivarly persists. at first he's wary cus Spotpaw's an outsider, but eventually theyre only fighting just cus he doesnt fucking like Spotpaw LMAO (´▽｀*)

His name is Nightpaw btw. His grandparents are elders in the clan. They tell funny stories to the children and Nightpaw tells them facts about the sky and he never shuts the fuck up about how their warrior ancestors inhabit the stars. at the same time he is also freaked out of the idea of the medicine cats (hiii mikan!!) being visited by the ghosts of fallen warriors (´- `*)

and finally

Shuichi and Tsumugi. Had to get a little strange with the family lines because... warrior cats... but basically Olivekit and Threadkit were raised together as siblings. Unfortunately! Junko is very present! Under the name of Goldenclaw. Mukuro is here too btw her name is Blackstrike. I'd share their designs but i hit my 10 photo limit on mobile and im not getting on my computer for this. oh yeah abyway uhhh Threadkit is kind of Goldenclaw's kit?? Goldenclaw probably found her in a ditch somewhere and went "oh yeah i can make a legacy out of this". She makes her sister raise Threadkit under the guise that shes her biological kit, and because of that, Birchwhisker goes to her for help to raise Olivekit. blackstrike is not happy about this

It all starts out as one big clan run by Jin, who has...yet to be Warrior named. And for a while, they're the ONLY clan. Buuuut.... Junko is here. The SDR2 cast are here. it does not stay peaceful

I won't type it all out since I'm still figuring it out and also I want to post this before I back out from nervousness but basically, Junko-- Goldenclaw,, yeah she's feeling a liiittle rebellious. Despair rises. Civil war within the clan begins, and eventually, Goldenclaw and her (very brainwashed and manipulated) group split off from the clan to start their own. and then they go to war (((・・;) typical warrior cats stuff

Eventually the conflict ceases as Makoto takes leadership of the clan as Luckystar. And I think, in this world, this is how the 9 lives ceremony woukd start-- some of the cats killed under Goldenclaw's tyranny come back to revive him with 9 extra lives to defeat her. They discover some sorta moonstone/moonpool (i prefer the stone lowkey) during this story. the drama. thats the best part about warriors. the DRAMA.

ok that's all i think i got it out of my system. maybe i'll come back to this maybe i won't i dunno,, i have a bad habit of having an idea and then forgetting it a day later (；ω；) so. you guys get danganronpa battle cats instead of anything... normal. whoopsies

Back with sort of new OCs , but are a big part of Hatomi’s story. Meet Kaito Kobayashi, Hatomi’s first husband, and her beloved son Genji Kobayashi. Before working for the Rengokus, Hatomi had a life before with both a loving husband and son she cherished with all her being. Kaito was her first love, who accepted and welcomed her after being banished from her home, and the one to give her hope and family after losing everything. Genji was the very product of that hope…..until one stormy night everything changed….and she was left alone again.

. A skilled Carpenter and Leather worker, renowned in some local villages for his capabilities and beautiful cabinets.

. Being an orphan he persisted the old man Aokiji until he took him under his wing as an apprentice, very stubborn yet earnest with a kind heart.

. Kaito was well known in the village for his reliability, always helping others fix things and heavy lifting

. Local woman would often try to pursue him, mothers practically throwing their daughters at him and single woman wishing they were 20 years younger because he is hardworking with a pleasant personality. He would always be polite in declining.

. Loves jokes and a goofy man with those he is close with. Loves making people laugh and smile, especially children.

. Not super tall, but he has a thick build, strong calloused hands and a big appetite.

. Is a big fan of receiving and giving hugs, Gives the best warm hugs that make you feel safe and secure

. Genji would often badger him to come along when he goes to the workshop.

. Came back home from work covered in wood shavings and sawdust, often Hatomi wouldn’t let him past the door until he shook off the wood. He never took it harshly, always laughing and heeding his wife’s instruction, he knows she likes a clean house and appreciated her dedication to keeping their home tidy. Never failed to ask her to help him, giving her his signature begging eyes always broke her resolve, and with a smile she helps brush off the wood from his clothes. It became a normal occurrence

. Loved playing with Genji whenever he had the time, taking him to work to see how interested Genji was about it and fishing with him were memories he treasured

. With Hatomi’s permission, was the one to carve intricate designs on her beloved bow, even made a special slingshot for Genji when he got old enough to use it.

. Genji is an inquisitive boy. Full of energy and many questions that he often asks why multiple times before he quiets down. He looks up to his father a great deal, and respects both his parents. Would sometimes get into mischief unintentionally, but always came from good intentions.

And of course, like almost every loving family in demon slayer, they get the usual treatment ….hint….kinda like the shinezugawa family.

Trouble's Brewing Remake: What's it about, and why is it happening?

//So, I think I kept everyone waiting for quite a while after I announced this, and I think it's finally time that I explain what's going to happen with this arc, and what it's all about.

//After some deep reflection and feedback, I realized there were areas that could be improved, and I’m really excited about the direction this rewrite is taking. I know some of you might have questions, so I wanted to address a few that might be on your mind. From what inspired the change, to how this will affect the story moving forward, and what new things you can expect, I’ll cover it all right here.

//No need for a long, drawn out explanation, so let's get started.

1 - Why is Trouble's Brewing being re-written?

//The simple answer is because it's easily the most outdated arc of the story.

//For those who haven't seen the beginning of this blog, this was before I came up with the structure that I currently have, and suffice to say, the plot of the first arc was rushed, and didn't really explain ANYTHING. It was just a quickly fumbled together introduction with no real characterization.

//Basically, all it was designed to do was drop Shuichi and his friends into the world, and it didn't have much of a story besides that.

//The reason why I'm rewriting Trouble's Brewing, and making it from scratch, is to take that plot, and actually make a full-length story arc for it, instead of a few quick posts that were hastily scrapped together, and uncomfortably bad compared to my current writing.

//Now, normally, I really hate the idea of going back and recreating work that I've already made, but in this case, I have more than one good reason for doing so. Considering he's still a key player in the story, it's also the first chance I have to actually use Kuripa's new sprites as part of the story, as well as to give a little more early characterization to some characters who severely needed it in preparation for future arcs.

2 - Will the new arc change the overall direction of the story?

//Yes, but not massively.

//The general plot of the arc will be the same. It will generally be set up to explain the world, the current state of the Future Foundation, as well as introduce the V3 kids into the fray, and the OC's like Kuripa.

//All this is is me taking that original story, and expanding it into something full fledged, like all the current arcs do.

3 - Are key characters being changed or removed?

//I'm sure a lot of people are wondering this, and the answer is yes.

//However there are also characters that will be coming back for the arc, namely Hajime, Yukari, and regular Himiko.

4 - How will the asks function? Will there be any for this arc?

//To make it easier on myself, no. But I will not be closing the box during the duration.

//Asks will be asked in the context of where the story is currently. Because it's a rewrite, I want Trouble's Brewing to be entirely story.

//After all, there's not much point in asking questions when most people already know the current plot developments. There isn't much potential for questions when the reset button gets hit.

5 - How different will the rewritten arc be from the original?

//As I said before, the basic plot is the same, but it's been expanded to include more character moments, story beats, and just...plot in general. Below, I've included some of the important considerations for those looking forward to it:

The main characters of the arc are the Branch 14 trio, i.e. Makoto, Mukuro, and Kuripa.

As teased in the title though, all the main protagonists (with the exception of Kaede, who is not present at this point in the story) will play significant roles in the plot, Shuichi especially.

Yukari Koime will be the main antagonist of the arc. The reason is because I feel that her introduction in Neo World was a bit too bare bones for how important she is throughout Phases 1 and 2, and I wanted more of a chance to have her be the main antagonist.

The big key difference of this arc, compared to the original, is that Maki and Himiko don't just show up as easily as Shuichi does. Like in the original Trouble's Brewing, Shuichi will appear through a wormhole and arrive on Jabberwock Island, but unlike their rushed arrival in the original arc, the main plot of this new arc will involve the Future Foundation tracking down and rescuing Maki and Himiko, to help reunite them with Shuichi. Effectively, it;'s something of a Saving Private Ryan kind of story.

6 - Will we see new scenes or characters?

//Yes, and yes.

//Although, for whatever new characters we DO add to this, don't expect them to stick around for the rest of the story. We need to kind of retain the canonicity, and it doesn't make sense for new characters to appear, and then not be present for the rest of the story.

//The new scenes are designed to better establish the current state of the world 8 years after DR3, and to establish the new characters, like Kuripa and Mukuro, although they don't have their current development, of course.

7 - Can we still access the original version?

//Yes, of course, it should hopefully still be up. But the whole premise of this is to improve the first part of the story, so hopefully, you won't need, nor want to after this.

8 - Will the themes or tone of the story change?

//I can't say for certain, but if they do, it'll likely be to better elaborate and improve upon the general themes of Survivor as a whole, so that new readers can get better acquainted with the premise.

//I think for now, that's it. If there are any other questions about this, please ask me, and I will answer as best I can.

<3 This is so silly considering Milo and Kai are very aware of their surroundings nearly at all times. 

<3 Milo loves fashion, so they’d especially love going on shopping trips with you, which is exactly why you two were out together. But honestly they’d find any reason to get you to spend time with them (*-ω-)

<3 Honestly? They had seen that wretched person from a mile away. The second they got too close to you for Milo’s liking they were already thinking of all the different ways to make sure no one would find that body. However Milo doesn’t want to make their intent obvious, and of course they don’t want to scare you! Well at least not right now. 

<3 But then you completely dismiss the person! Not saying a word to them! Milo was only watching from the corner of their eye, so when they finally looked over, there you were in front of him!

<3 “Dear, I think we’re done here. Let’s leave, okay?~” Your voice made Milo melt every single time. 

<3 To say Milo was happy would be an understatement. Seeing you look at that person like the disgusting filth they were would honestly make them so giddy. <3 From the moment that idiot started to stare at you, Kai was already right behind you, constantly glaring back at the person. Though either they were too stupid to notice or too stupid to care. Either way it was not about to end well (^_^;

<3 But lucky them, you turned around, totally disregarding the person and now facing Kai. It was enough to make him pause and focus his attention on you. 

<3 “Babe!! We should go, I already checked out everything I wanted to see~” And you looked at the idiot with the meanest look Kai’s ever witnessed you have. 

<3 Kai had mixed feelings. On one hand he loved that you were shoving it in this bastard’s face that you were clearly with him. On the other hand, you focusing on that other person and not him was bothering him (❁≧_≦)

<3 You felt Kai’s hand on your chin, redirecting your head to look back at him, his expression the same as always. But there was a glint of pride in his eyes. You grinned back at him, leaning into his hand.

<3 Kai isn’t a fan of pda, but just before you left he made sure that fucker was watching as he kissed you against the wall of the store right before leaving (⺣◡⺣)♡*

ill make a work ref for arche eventually because its not quite the same as arqetype meiko color-wise, but wonder can just be put in leader kaitos outfit for theater stuff..........

anyway. yes these two came out of the fact that i saw leader kaito and went "ive never wanted a man before like ive wanted him" because hes pretty in a butch lesbian kind of way. so wonder is exactly that :D hes a transfem butch lesbian, so yes, listing him as female on his profile is correct. he really hasnt changed at all since transitioning, and he has no plans to. hes pretty content as is.

arche having blue eyes is also a reference to arqetype... if you look at it arqetype meiko has blue eyes. which is weird but also kinda neat. so yeah arche is just a normal meiko (besides the add-on dragon parts) who was just made with blue eyes for fun

also while theyre technically both based on songs that wouldnt yet exist in universe thats not that important because i think both concepts stand up on their own... barista meiko and actor kaito work fine as standalone concepts ignoring their inspirations. their nicknames are callbacks to their inspirations though. arche -> archetype -> arqetype (this means her name is pronounced ar-keh, not arch) and wonder -> hes like two steps removed from being wxs kaito if you think about it.

wonders id is really straightforward i think... 1d3r -> one der -> wonder. arches is also not that confusing but theres like two extra readings wrapped up in it for fun. the one she follows is rk -> reading the letters individually -> stretch the pronunciation slightly and you get arche. but you could also get rke -> rookie (dont call her that though) and rk-9 -> arcanine (this is just because i needed a last character for it and i realized i could make a pokemon joke for the funny)

Catla this ask has been sitting in my inbox for so long that it has gotten EMBARASSING but I will move past all that and take this opportunity you have given me. Thank u. This ended being 2k+ words and it’s late and I’m tired of half-assedly proofreading so I am putting it out into the world.

Some preface before we get into it (there are a lot of prefaces bear with me!): The story of my original OCs (just 2-3 characters) was “what if there was a character, and she was adopted by [character I am too embarrassed to name], and there was found family.” This was the end goal. Everything else was backstory. They started off as Marvel OCs, then BNHA, then Haikyuu, then Black Clover, then DC, before I finally decided that they were too far removed from any canon to fit into a preexisting story and finally made them just original characters.

By the time I hit DC OCs��, I decided I needed a team of people for my main OCs (siblings) to be friends and allied with, to juxtapose the batfam, so I created a plethora of OCs to go along with them. Suddenly we had a lot of characters, and I needed to thread them all together. I developed my own dynamics, backstories, and other details for all of these characters. 

Instead of starting with an archetype or trope (hothead, scarecrow, hero, rebel, sunshiney, miserable, etc), I started with different events or moments in their lives. Essentially, I went backward, deciding key events before personality (kind of like how real life works…) This is what makes it so hard to describe my OCs to people. There isn’t just a set of keywords I can pull out of nowhere*, like “happy-go-lucky” or “angry” because they react differently in different situations. The only way to know the full range of my characters is to…know them.

*This is for most of my OCs. some of them I never developed as much, so they’re a little more black and white. Looking at you, Kicks.

That was a lot of ramble (it’s well past 1am as I write this) but to boil it down, the reason why i shared all of this information is this: My OCs are not ‘characters’ to me. They are people. They are so complex and have rich histories and aren’t just moodboards or aesthetics to me. And there’s no single plotline that I follow through either (more on this later**), because there is no overarching plot throughout their entire lives. Conflicts get resolved, or there are multiple at once, just like how someone can have both school and home life drama at once.

No, I don’t know their favorite songs, or movies, or colors, or what their ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ are. Yes, I know that Daiken would never ever speak to Brii again after everything, and he would definitely fight her if they ever met again, but he still picked up the phone when she called because he knew that she would only call him if it was important. And it was.

Sorry,. I am so normal abt my OCs. no one will read this post LMAO but . oh well. Already at 500 words and no sign of the end.

So the most basics are this:

For the sake of this post, ‘canon’ is at this point in time: Sachi Kojima (she) (16) lives with her three brothers, her twin Kazuki (he) (16), younger (half-)brother Kaito (he) (11), and elder brother Daiken (he) (21). Daiken is their legal guardian and took custody of them when he was 18, after The Incident™ when their severely abusive father (who was also a crimelord) was arrested. Her mother died when she was 4. 

Remember that thing I mentioned about the crimelord? Yeah, so as it turns out [bear with me this is the least plausible part of the story] all of the local bigger criminals/crimelords in the area…participate in ‘bring your kid to work day’, like, most days. Yeah, yeah I know. All of the Criminals™ are lowkey training their kids to follow in their footsteps and take them with them to places but also leave them in this old ass conference room for hours at a time I DONT KNOW it doesnt sound plausible to me either. Anyways. Jokingly, this group of kids call themselves the ‘Junior Murderers Club’ and they fuck around and do a whole lot of Nothing and bond while their parents talk about crime and get drunk and shit. They also call themselves ‘Sixes’ because they’re either six inches away [from their parent] or six rooms away, unless they wanna be six feet under…haha.

This group of kids exists in the ‘pre-canon’ of the story (from when Daiken was 12-17) and consists of:

They are all trauma buddies and went on missions together n stuff and they all mostly*** hated their parents. After Sachi + co. (her siblings) escape their situation, they all kind of break off, and eventually they form the Information League, or the IL, or just… no name at all because I’m still not satisfied with that one.

***EXCEPT Brii who was treated quite well by her father and was brainwashed/manipulated into believing that what they did was okay in some capacity. She is essentially Daiken’s narrative foil and I love her to death. She is the worst. Stupid gay bitch <3

One of the previous generations of Sixes is Perria Dawson (she/her, codename: Delphi), who is ten years older than Daiken (so in canon, 31) who watched silently from the shadows, collected information, and slowly worked her way out of the complicated network of crime that she was entrapped in to eventually Get Out. She specialized in information gathering and staying under the radar. The IL’s base is a warehouse that her father used to own but sorta kinda forgot about, so she took over it when she got away from him and made it HQ. Notably, it has a big open space with high ceilings that they call the Fly, short for flyspace, a few rooms out of the way (kind of hidden) that she lives in with her kids (see below) part-time, and high rafters with those criss-crossy metal ladder things that are a bunch of X’s and stuff. 

In current canon, she’s a programmer or something like that and works a day job and while she’s cool with calls, everyone else feels bad for mooching off of her, so she’s Not to be disturbed during this time. She is my Deus ex machina. Anytime something goes Majorly wrong, someone always has to say the line “I’m calling Perria”. 

Perria also has the habit of picking up strays lmao and later takes in Manha Latif (she her, codename: Trebleclef, 15 in canon), my little meow meow who was not a Six but had a much beloved older brother who disappeared after dealing with some fucked up shit, so she got a little toooo involved in the nightlife and the IL got involved and now she’s one of them. Her brother (Binyamin) is probably dead rip and during all of this mess, her mom goes back overseas to Pakistan and is currently living there, so Perria was like “yea dude I’ll take you in”, so she lives with Perria

A year and a half later, she adopts the strangest fuckin little kid who talks like an adult and doesn’t know her name and appears from the shadows when you call for her and oh shit she’s probably magic or something. When you let a six-year-old pick their own name they will generally pick shit like Andromeda (or Anna for short). They refer to her as ‘The Kid™’ or ‘Star’ in the field.

Other character info I didn’t mention:

Sachi’s codename is ‘Scapegoat’ to reclaim her identity as the childhood scapegoat, because “everything’s always my fault, isn’t that right? 🙄”

Kazuki’s and Kaito’s I am still not completely satisfied with. I have spent many walks home contemplating something that doesn’t sound like a 12 year old came up with but it is hard I tell you. Kaito doesn’t really go into the field much anyway because everyone is determined to not traumatize him anymore than he already is but the name I picked for him is Gear. Kazuki is Steel.

If anyone has suggestions, my criteria are that Kazuki’s starts with an S (to match his sister) and sounds somewhat physics-y or steampunk/cyberpunky. Kaito’s is so weird that anything works really but he likes animals and will probably be a vet so keep that in mind. Also reminder he is 11.

Now that most of my characters are out of the way it’s time to explain the **many plotlines that I have going on. When I come up with scenarios in my mind, they fit into the below categories. Essentially, if I wanted to actually sit down and tell the story of these kids, these are the options that I have.

One: The Early Days (2011-2019) 

The abuse Daiken, Sachi, Kazuki, and Kaito faced at the hands of their father for 8 years. This is either from Sachi’s or Daiken’s point of view. 

Sachi has the unique experience of being the scapegoat and most hated child and also only girl (which is important here as well as later****). Also goes into Sachi’s relationship with her best friends (Bianca/Bia (she), who she was probably in love with [or was she?] and Trey (he)), her twin, lying pathologically to all the adults in her life, her anger issues, and more. 

Daiken has the experience of being the eldest child forced to look after his siblings while work alongside his father on missions and meeting people as well as maintain his grades to escape to medical school and a better future. He’s a lil parentified. Lol. 

Two: Daiken as a Six (2013-2018) 

Trigger warning for child death in this one.

The struggles that Daiken experienced before escaping his father at 18 (when he got arrested). This mainly focuses on how Brii is his narrative foil as well as goes into more detail on the missions he went on with LS and Jacob and Jamie and Azz. When Daiken was 14, he was going through his father’s computer, and accidentally discovers that Jamie had died a few weeks prior, at only 13. This devastates him, and while he was already against the work he was forced into, the circumstances of Jamie’s death (at the hands of one of Jamie’s father’s employees in the mob, used brutally as a human shield), radicalizes him, and he ends up toe-to-toe with the ever-loyal Brii. Brii is like Daiken but her father actually loves her deeply and manipulates/abuses her differently. Years later, Maze (who Brii was secretly in love with) dies at 19, protecting Brii on a mission, and while this would have radicalized Daiken, this only further cements in Brii’s eyes that what they are doing is the way to keep the most people safe. This story is really interesting and nuanced in a lot of ways.

Three: To Grow Again (TGA)/After (2019-) 

The story of Sachi and her siblings’ lives after they’re taken out of their father’s custody and transferred into Daiken’s care a few months later. Mostly a story of healing and setbacks as Sachi experiences loss, works through trauma, adjusts to a new way of life, and also forms close bonds with the IL. This is the Good Ending

An AU of this: Daiken becomes a teen dad and shares custody of his daughter Aika with her mom. This is mostly fluffy slice of life stuff and isn’t canon to anything. 

Another AU of this: I like to play with a roleswap/reverse siblings so that everyone is backward in age. I haven't played with this concept as much so feel free to ask more abt this.

Four: The Dimension Girls (2020-) 

Eventually I got bored of the happily ever after stuff so I gave Sachi the power to travel between dimensions and made her a guardian of the planet Earth. I have a lot of lore I’m still working on (ATSV gave me so many good ideas, but also hey I already had the ‘anomaly’ concept!) but I’ve tried to distinguish between dimensions, universes, and smaller changes in dimensions. That’s a different post. 

Sachi and two other girls****, Allison (Aussie, she/they, 19) and Imogen (Irish, she/her, 16) are meant to help dimensional anomalies, act as ambassadors to other dimensions, and protect the dimension from threats. I used the concept of the 5 senses, where Allison is sight, Sachi is hearing, and Imogen is taste (which I decided includes gasses/the lungs). There are 5 senses, obviously, but I decided that the other 2 girls haven’t activated their powers yet, so right now, Sachi’s Earth doesn’t have all of its guardians, making the burden greater on the three. Not every dimension uses the 5 senses in their powers, or even has the same rules for picking guardians. In this dimension, the guardian powers are passed through the girl in the bloodline (trans-inclusive! Which is why none of the others can be transfemme and Sachi can’t be transmasc lol) until there isn’t one, then it jumps to a new family. There’s some fun horror where these senses sometimes cross over and they can experience things from other dimensions (phantom hearing, vision, smoke in Im’s lungs, etc). There’s also this mirror dimension where they go and blah blah I don’t feel like explaining.

I love doing crossovers so when I do those I just make it a dimensional thing. I tried staying away from the ‘fantasy structure is just a bureaucracy hierarchy’ concept because I hate it, but there are also beings with more power, like Cosmic/Cozy who is an inter-dimensional higher being who steps in when situations get dire. Pronouns pending because I can’t decide between they/them and he/she so y’all can help me out with that as well.

An AU of this: Sachi also gets stuck in timeloops sometimes, caused by her powers somehow. I have fun with it. This one is more canon than the other AU I have, and I headcanon that she wears a watch that beeps at 11:50 pm and again at midnight because when she loops it’s always at midnight, and she can get her bearings at 11:50 pm so that if she ends up looping, she’s somewhere safe and can remember what she was doing at the time to avoid suspicion of the others. It’s a vibe.

Another AU of this: Sachi keeps getting dreams of treading water in an endless ocean as her mother calls out to her and tells her it’s okay + something ominous about where to find her/info about her death. Every time Sachi wakes up, water materializes out of nowhere and she awakens drenched and exhausted, a pool of water around her. This period of time would be either on and off for a few months or for a few weeks straight. She sets an alarm for every 20 minutes so that when she sleeps, she never starts dreaming. She’s constantly exhausted and is living hell for this period of time until the dreams stop.

I think that’s all of the information about my OCs and To Grow Again, the name I picked for their story. This was a lonnggggg post so I will not be surprised if no one reads this. Summary: Kaito had no intention of interfering with the main characters, even if he seems to have landed in this world a year or two after the canon storyline ended. So of course he hops into bed with an Arcobaleno (unknowingly!) and gains his interest, which leads him into many an uncomfortable talk with the other Arcobaleno, into Vongola’s crosshairs, and into a cross-country courtship with Skull fucking de Mort.

Notes: Title is from "Female Robbery" by The Neighbourhood.

This is an extremely self-indulgent SI/OC/Skull fanfic (that takes place after the canon storyline, so Skull and the rest of the Arcobaleno are in their adult forms.) Like y'all, I gave my SI/OC Hiraishin!! Just because I could!!!! I am absolutely never continuing this, at least not as is, because Kaito is way too OP, but I might eventually cannibalize parts of it for a fic that won't make me cringe myself out of existence. Anyway, AO3 is down, so here's something to entertain yourself for a little bit.

It starts with a dark and dingy bar, full of criminals and low lifes and the dirty underbelly of society. It’s the kind of place where brawls are nonexistent, and no one cares what your name is. It’s perfect for Kaito, coming off a botched job, one where the client lied about his motivations for the hit, and Kaito ended up fighting off a small army trying to escape after he offed the guy.

He’s pissed and disgruntled, and he nurses a single glass of whiskey in a dingy corner for a while as he works out a way to make future clients wary of double-crossing him. Just killing the fuckers apparently isn’t enough of a message, so maybe he has to be more brutal. Torture? Or some public display?

He hasn't quite decided yet when someone new enters the bar, instantly catching his attention. The guy's got brown hair and vibrant green eyes, and he looks really good in that weathered leather jacket and tight jeans. God, but he's got piercings. And those boots. Why does he have a chain hanging off pf his pants? That's so goddamn stupid and weirdly hot, and he might be the prettiest man Kaito's ever seen.

It takes all of ten seconds for Kaito to decide he's going to go for it. It wouldn't be the first time he's hit on a stranger in a bar, and it certainly won't be the last. Because he's not a complete moron, he does wait and watch for another ten minutes, looking for signs the guy is waiting on someone or for said someone to show up.

But no one shows. At the ten minute mark, Kaito goes right on over there, making sure to make some noise, even though he doubts the guy is a civilian. This bar serves a certain clientele, after all, and besides, he's met enough dangerous individuals in his line of work to recognize one, even if he can't quite tell how dangerous. As the literally only being in this dimension to possess chakra, he can hardly use that as a measure of strength, even though it would be so convenient.

Few things in this world are, for a displaced faux ninja.

He slips onto the seat next to the guy, ready with a flirtatious smile when he turns to look. "Hi, I'm Kaito, and you're really pretty. Want to get to know me?"

It's a stupid, cheesy line, but Kaito's normal prospects usually find it just this side of endearing. It's all about the delivery.

Pretty Guy startles, just a little, then he smiles back, stupidly charming and visibly flattered. "Hearing that from someone as pretty as you-" he laughs, and it's so cute, what the fuck- "I'm Yulian, and I'd love to."

This, right here, is definitely, undoubtedly, wholeheartedly, and unquestionably the moment Kaito really fucked up.

But it's not where it really started.

It starts with a dreamlike video game or perhaps a video game-like dream. Nevertheless, there is a character creation screen and a character carefully created after hours and hours (maybe an hour and a half) of deliberating and contemplating and self-indulging.

The character is a ninja in a world full of them. Short, black hair that curls over his ears. Ruby red eyes with visible rings in them. Fair skin, high cheekbones, dimples. Tall, lean, muscular, nimble.

Yuuhi Kaito, age 22, stands before him, mouth pulled into an easy smile, a hint of mischief in his eyes, a deceptive ease to his stance. He’s perfect.

After that, skill slots are quickly filled up. Gear is equipped. An elemental affinity is chosen. He hovers between two Special Skills for a while, but eventually, he goes with his heart. Also, the coolest choice with the most potential for badassery.

The generated backstory is skimmed over. Kaito is the older brother to Yuhi Kurenai, and in canon, he died during the Third War. In this world, he survives, becomes a tokubetsu jounin, joins ANBU, gets handpicked to join the Yondaime’s guard, and like the others, he is taught the Hiraishin Jutsu. Unlike them, however, he figures out how to use it on his own. As one can imagine, this changes things.

Eager to get into this strange, new world and discover those changes, he doesn’t hesitate to save and then select Game Start. 

He probably should have hesitated.

He almost can't believe he'd do something so idiotic, but he did, so clearly, there's some string of DNA inside of him dedicated to dumbassery and other stupid stunts, some gene that forces him to make the worst decision possible in any given situation, even when he's not aware it's possible.

How the fuck was he supposed to know Pretty Bar Guy was a canon character?? How on earth was he supposed to know that Yulian was actually Skull de fucking Mort??? How was he to know this random dude he picked up at a bar was a fucking disguised Arcobaleno???

4.) Out of all the fandoms you're in, which one do you think has objectively the worst writing?

As much as I complain about the writing of Danganronpa, its 100% Warrior cats because there's more of it and thus more time for it to be TERRIBLE. If you want a list for why:

Same old forbidden romance plotline every arc

Writers only know 20 adjectives tops

The authorS don't have the plot planned out a lot of the time, and it shows

Terrible pacing

Nobody can remember what color a major characters eyes are. If memory serves, it changed three times.

Bunch of sexism and ableism in series that never gets called out, and hasn't improved in modern warriors. Normally I don't care about bigoted writing, but the series is marketed @ 10 y/os.

Like, Danganronpa has interesting ideas. I love almost all DR characters. Warriors... I'll just take Yellowfang, Ashfur, Crookedstar, and Jayfeather and go.

7.) The boring headcanon that is everywhere.

The first thing that came to mind is honestly Lesbian Mahiru. I feel like saying "she hates men because she's not into them" and nothing else simplifies a lot of her issues, and is the most boring answer.

20.) Ship that the fandom has basically made into two OCs. So, so many, to be honest, but I'll go with Sayaka and Leon. Sayaka is very hard to put into any romantic relationship and have her be in-character, but Leon gets the brunt of it since he likes her facade and wants to play into it.

And like, that could be fun if it was the "he never knew who she really was, and lowkey treats her dream like a joke" angle, but no, its just... Leon x Sayaka's idol persona.

26.) A "He would not fucking say that" moment

Less a moment and more of an entire plotline, but Maki's feelings for Kaito being fake. They were the only ship that developed organically- and doing so makes all the time fans spent on that relationship moot.

If only there was a romantic pairing that

A.) Was relevant in chapters 5 and 6

B.) Was pushed together by the narrative instead of deciding to become friends.

It should have been Saimatsu.

I’ve been going through a lot of my old work and deciding what to post.

I came across an old Kaitou Kid x OC concept. I don’t think it’s worth posting on AO3, but I kind of wanted to acknowledge it somehow.

This was back when I was first experimenting with my own identity and trying to make sense of what the heck gender even is, and fiction is a pretty nice sandbox. So I had the Totally Original thought of having the OC be a target of a similar poison to Conan that instead changed her from female to male.

She sought the help of Kaito because he seemed extraordinarily capable, and extremely likely to eventually get on the bad side of the Black Organization, so he’d have reason to get involved. She becomes another of the people out to catch him. Although she does find out his identity as Kaito Kuroba fairly quickly, she insists that she won’t ask for his help until she can catch him as Kid, as she feels she has to earn his help.

I was basically writing baby’s first dysphoria. She didn’t like the change of her body, and she felt like she couldn’t go home. As the story would progress, she would slowly find more comfort in her new body. She felt a pressure to be a specific way before, both because she was a girl and because of her family that had high expectations for her future. The mess resulting from the poison gave her the chance to figure out who she is without that pressure. In the end, she still thinks of herself as a girl, but she associates her male body with her newfound freedom, so she’s scared to go back.

I think it might have been interesting if I actually wrote more than cliffnotes. Especially since I even thought of a perfect surname that fell in line with the color-themed naming in that series.

One of the scenes would have been cutting her hair. She didn’t realize that her hair had grown long again. It was hard to cut it the first time, so she wants to get it over with quickly now. Kaito would offer to cut it for her, but only if she let him play with it first since they don’t know when it’ll be safe to grow back out again. He ends up stalling, because he knows it’ll be painful for her to cut it again. It would have been a tender moment.

One of the scenes in school would have had Kaito teaching her some basic sleight of hand. She starts off sad because she’s clumsy with her new body, not nearly as coordinated as she used to be. When Kaito’s done teaching her , he says he’s proud that she’s getting used to it. She’s sad again because she doesn’t know if she wants to ‘get used to’ this body, and also because she’s finding that she’s better at these things with this body--that she can do these kinds of things so much easier with these large hands that are so alien to her.

...You know what, I’ll post the end of that, since I did actually write it. Do keep in mind I wrote this more than 10 years ago, so the quality is kinda crap.

Kaito stole one of the tear-stained hands without a second thought.

"No matter what size and no matter what they may be capable of, I'll always like them." He laid a kiss on the palm before placing it against his cheek.

The shocked and flushed expression Minoru gazed with was met with a simple smile. Then, with one hand holding Minoru’s hand palm-up, Kaito conjured a normal-sized card and twirled it a bit before it seemed to turn into a deck of smaller cards. He placed the deck in Minoru's hand, still smiling.

"All people and all things come in different shapes and sizes. That goes for magic, too." As if to demonstrate, Kaito flexed his newly-empty hand. He first produced a large red rose that he pinned to Minoru’s shirt. He then produced a small fully-bloomed white gardenia that he fixed in Minoru's hair.

The tears started back up with different reason, a small smile breaking through. "Why do you even have all this stuff with you..." was the best Minoru could think of to say, clutching the cards tightly.

hi its the anon who brought up the anni thing back at it. sorry for doing this again, i'll stop if you want me too.

anyway i think that its most likely gonna be a saki banner, since emu will likely be getting an event pretty soon after that. like 3-4ish months after i think. wouldn't be surprised if emu got another january event tbh.

i don't know who the fes will be though. anniversarys like giving miku fes cards so i wouldn't really be surprised if it happens again. my only issue is i can't figure out who else would get the card? are they gonna start doubling up characters and give a new fes card to someone who's already gotten one. it would be pretty interesting but see how their fragments have changed but i doubt it. are they going to do what they did first anni and do a miku/oc fes. like a miku/tsukasa fes for example. thats my current theory actually, it'd be a good way to introduce mixed festivals with saki/whoever possibly gets mixed in. i don't really know.

i think saki banner is a possibility as well. she's currently one of three characters who doesn't have a limited banner (the others being rui who could get wxs' lim banner or a mixed lim banner, and ena who's unfortunately out of luck until next rotation), and she's also due for another mixed unit event (her last one was hinamatsuri all the way back in 2021). there's a chance she could be a limited card on the next event, but if she isn't it's gonna reach a point where she's very far behind so they might do what they did with An last year and give her two lims very close together to catch her up. so for now she's my #1 pick for anniversary but we'll see how things go especially since the season 2 launch might fuck with the events idk.

the current rotation is actually set to end in january (assuming two events per month) so january emu could work if they swap her and tsukasa on the normal wxs rotation and make her the last event. i get the feeling wxs will shuffle their event order this rotation because they've done nene->rui->emu->tsukasa twice in a row now. alternatively, something i've been considering for a while now is Emu being the next wxs event (probably in summer). it's a bit close to amidst a dream but then again shiho got a february and august banner last year which is about the same gap. mainly the reason i've considered this is because of shuffling the event order and also bc they're very clearly holding back something with rui (read:

) and prsk has a habit of pushing important plots back (like the Nagi lore), but ultimately i feel it could go either way between rui and emu does any of this make sense i'm so sorry for writing a massive paragraph about literally one sentence you said

i agree i wouldn't be surprised by fes 3 miku but then there's the question of who to pair her with. kaito and meiko don't have fes but you'd think they'd get paired together, right? so maybe they'll be the anniversary fes this year but also it's an important anniversary so miku seems more likely. i doubt they'll give any of the human characters Fes 2s before some even have their fes 1s, so I'm ruling that out as well. my only other thought is Saki being a fes card instead of being the event card. mainly because they kinda fucked shit up by putting ichika with miku so now saki has no one to pair with unless they give ichika a fes 2 at the same time saki gets fes 1, which offsets the balance. also i think mixed fes banners is a really cool idea but i feel they would only start doing that once everyone has their fes 1 card.

I would REALLY love to write Kaito against Zoe, potential 🍪 if we set it during their time together in the game, but I'd also be really into doing a time skip future AU where they're both on the other side of the wall and trying to adjust to a normal life together.
