Lol at the nightgown thing, doesn't rhaenys wear the same nightgown in the drftmark episode and the scene where she's locked up in her room at kings landing? Those moments are like 6 years apart and this is one of the richest, if not the richest, lady in westeros.

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #granny wen #a-yuan #It's always fascinating how colours translate from the page to the screen.#It would probably surprise a lot of people to see what some of these comics actually look like in physical form.#My lighter colours takes about 3-4 washes before it shows up on scan which means it tends to ripple the page.#And my yellows and oranges are drastically different colours when scanned compared to the ink colour.#There's about 20 or so comics where everyone's hair is purple - because it scanned in the exact same colour as my light grey.#Wait my book is right here in front of me so I can...yeah...Comics 57-77 were indeed purple.#This is all to say - is it not fascinating how what we see is often not the full truth of what the subject truly is?#Is it not fascinating to open another episode that reminds us that despite everyone's claims they could totally spot the evil YLLZ-#-The man walks around among them for months as no more than a man haggling for deals like the rest.#It's almost as if he's just a person. It's almost as if none of us - no matter what we do are really anything more than just a person.#Your good acts will be overtaken by how other's interpret you in negative light.#Just as easily are people willing to forgive crueler actions if they hold you in high esteem.#But what's real? Is the page I hold the real version of this comic? Is it the one you look at?#Is the man known as Wuxian the most himself when he is alone or on the battlefield?#Perhaps he is and has always been a scared orphan boy lost in the market.#I think there is no good answer to any of these questions.#But I do know that panic rising in WWX as he frantically looks for A-yuan was for more than one boy.#To be human is to have layers around a delicate center. #Manga #Appleseed #Shirow Masamune #80s #This is literally every single one of these moments in the entirety of the manga's run #including bonus material #There's some great character writing hidden among all the infodumping and technobabble as well #But like I said before all it accomplishes is to make you frustrated #Because despite being written so well #Masamune was more interested in waxing philosophical than actually giving his characters the attention they deserve #Despite them displaying an insane amount of depth and complexity whenever they are able to #it's a very rare case where the characters are EXTREMELY well written and almost every moment they are on screen is amazingly well done #But the manga keeps demanding you listen to completely different side characters talk about politics for endless pages #while at the same time none of these politics have any consequence or relevance to the actual stories that happen on screen.#So it ends up with the majority of the manga is like listening to some guy you don't know on the bus reading the headlines of a newspaper #at you about political tension between two countries you have never heard of and will never feature in your life again #How do you write such great and well written characters and then be completely disinterested in actually putting them on screen?????

seriously though nothing can stop me from interpreting Real Life as canon just for how it progresses the canary curse situation. i'm obsessed with it. the curse gets broken in secret life and then in the very next "series", as much of a joke as it is, you get a situation like THAT. jimmy enters a mineshaft and everyone but him dies. not just his team, though obviously it's more significant because they were all red, but ren/martyn/skizz all get a mineshaft-death apiece. that canary's not doing his job anymore. he escaped his cage and made a break for the surface and everyone else is paying the price for it, and i for one could not be more proud of that little bird.

#that's not to say however that real life is on the same level of seriousity as all the other life games #the watchers grabbed all these players from the aftermath of the wildest party anyone's ever seen #the only ones not hungover were the ones drinking until dawn (now sleep deprived and plastered)#no one's going to have more than the vaguest memories of what the hell happened there #none of them sure if that was an actual Game or if some genius thought it would be a great idea to play-act one. while drunk.#the watchers know though. the watchers think it was funny.#wotcher talk #solidaritygaming #life series #life series smp #life smp #trafficblr #life series spoilers #real life #real life smp #rlsmp

working in a factory has you thinking so much about the insane chain of labor & transport that goes into making literally anything

#like first you realize that You are making & doing things that you previously had thought - if you'd thought abt it at all - were automated #& you become incredibly aware of how all the materials you're working with came from somewhere - these plastic clips are from france; this #fabric is from india etc. and that there are people in factories there making those things and that they are also probably getting their #materials from somewhere #one of the little things that makes me think about this the most is we have these 50m rolls of cotton banding we see onto canvas & nets #and in theory it should be all one piece but sometimes it's actually two pieces which you discover when you get far enough in the roll and #find that there's a join where it's been stitched together by hand (!). which is a little annoying bc we can't use that bit so you have #to cut that but out & stitch it together again on the machine which interrupts what you were sewing before & slows you down But it's so #striking to me bc like it's really easy to look at this banding & it's so exactly the same & obviously machine made it's Really easy to #forget that there are people there running these machines. who notice there's a break & have to stop what they're doing & get a needle &#thread and stitch it together. by hand! like someone somewhere has handled exactly where I'm touching it & i don't even know where in the #world they are!#the other place this happens is often on the selvedge edge of the fabric there's writing in pencil i don't know ye meaning of but evidently #was important to the process somewhere & someone wrote that out #idk like it's really easy to watch those videos of really specific machines in factories & convince yourself that everything is automated #but the truth is the vast majority of stuff is not & is made by people doing that. & even when it is there are people running those machine #<- and i'm not saying this in a soppy way tbc. this whole system is a nightmare of exploitation & to some degree I'm just continually amaze #by how insane this whole process is & also how completely un-transparent it is unless you are made to think abt it #another thing is noticeable when you look at our orders that most of what we sell isn't to customers it's to shops who then sell to custome #which then makes you think like. those plastic clips from france are they actually made in france or are we just buying them from france?#are they actually made by underpaid people in a country the name of which is completely lost to the chain of production at this point #anyways none of this is new it's just when you are working in a factory using this stuff you start wondering like.#what's the factory like that the person who stitched this banding together like. what's their day like there #wish we could talk abt how fucked up this all is - for them especially probably - together #thoughts

Absolutely losing my mind over Scar’s stream today

He was already talking to Etho while catching ocelots

Joel logs in and Scar immediately asks if Etho wants to go visit him

We get so many Etho lore crumbs (although he doesn’t fully confirm anything except having stubble and trying to get rid of 2 extra house generators)

They hang out for like 2 hours doing nothing hut chatting

Eventually Scar leaves but forgot that he left his ocelots at Etho’s because he was so excited about boat boys that he never brought them home

Small but significant character moments that I actually really adore are from both the times we see the boys as tots. There is a reoccurrence that happens in both of them that I find so incredibly interesting.

For the turtle tot short, Splinter leaves the boys with weapons. In the short, Raph is the one who suggests they do “what Lou Jitsu would do” and Leo is the one who takes point when Splinter comes back to reprimand them. Leo, in taking point, is the one to defend them and get Splinter off their tails.

And then, in the flashback regarding the Kuroi Yōroi helmet, Raph is the one who grabs and throws “Skully” as a way to replace their missing ball which breaks it into pieces, but Leo is the one who speaks for the group and rushes into action to fix the teapot.

I love this for multiple reasons, but the biggest are how it shows that Raph has always been inclined toward the bold and fun and making the plans to include his brothers in what he loves and believes they’d love, whereas Leo has always been inclined to be the “Face” of the group and shoulder the attention even if it’s potentially negative all while coming up with on the spot attempts to fix the situation.

I'll be forever mad that Jayce ruined the moment right there, but not because I think this would've been a perfect ending for them (I don't). I'm mad because if Jayce had just waited five fucking minutes, the resulting scene would've been so juicy.

Look at the way Vi and Cait look at each other here:

Caitlyn: shocked, betrayed, hurt

Vi just looks sad:

We know from their dialogue in ep 8 that while Vi and Caitlyn were making the plan to distract Ambessa, Vi had another one, to bring in Jinx as a contingency in case Caitlyn couldn't be trusted or failed. She had to know Caitlyn wouldn't take it well once she found out. Vi's priority n°1 was saving Vander though, and they likely didn't have much time to think this through. Basically, she had to know that from Caitlyn's POV, it would look like "Vi chooses Jinx over Cait", edition number 2.

And she was likely right! We know Caitlyn lets go of her anger towards Jinx in the next episode, and accepts that Vi has the right to choose her family, but in my opinion, she wasn't there yet in ep 6. Having a broken Jinx locked up in a cell (her single goal for the last few months) while Vi was lying unconscious on her bed for days very likely helped Caitlyn reassess her priorities in life. But here in this scene she literally doesn't have time to think!

Let's look at Caitlyn a bit more here. During their reunion, She probably expected Vi to hate her guts, but instead, Vi looks grumpy, calls her a mongoose and a cupcake in two sentences, and drops the "my dad needs help" bomb after hesitating for a hot, single second. Moments after that, Caitlyn reevaluates her life choices and decides to make a big career change. Plenty of great posts have already been made about Caitlyn's motivations there, but to sum it up, I'd say it was a combination of: her being already wary of Ambessa and not wanting to let a Noxian warlord get her hands on a dangerous weapon / innocent man, being tired of hating herself, and, yes, her feelings for Vi coming back to her in full force.

For a few, glorious moments, she was working with Vi again! Probably feeling more like herself than she had in months. Maybe she started to hope they could reconcile after all. Maybe, she hoped it could be a "do over" for their failed mission with the strike team, where she'd be helping a member of Vi's family, instead of being torn apart by one of them.

... only to find that Vi didn't actually trust her (which was deserved, but still, ouch), and to come face to face with the source of her seething hatred, the single object of her obsession in the last few months. Right after being saved by said source of seething hatred. It's a lot to take in. She had to be simultaneously disappointed and shocked

So, what was she gonna do? There was probably nothing Vi could have said that wouldn't have pissed Caitlyn off right then (no, Vi, saying "she's changed" probably wouldn't have helped), Jinx opening her mouth would have likely made it worse, but at the same time they still had to run away asap. Caitlyn had already betrayed Ambessa, she couldn't go back. Vi pretty much put her in a position where she'd have no choice but to follow along, no matter how angry she was, at least for a little while...

and I made this post just to say, that the resulting bickering would have been hilarious to see :S

(forget about Jayce waiting five minutes, though, what if it they had an hour? what would Caitlyn had done once they were far enough from the Noxian army? point her gun at Jinx? attempt an arrest? (right in front of Vander? gulp) she might have simply ended up separating from them, and that would have been heartbreaking enough, but a completely different story)

((and that's assuming cult member!vander would have just agreed to leave the commune without acting weird))

Duke is the perfect age where you can make him friends with the characters directly older than him (Tim’s gen/Young Justice) and the ones directly younger than him (Damian’s generation, eg Jon Kent, Shazamily maybe) and I think more people should write about him just being the middle of the youngest kids

Like, Jason and Cass are middlest of the oldest, Duke is middlest of the youngest.

Duke showing up to titans tower, charming young justice, insulting Tim to his face, stealing something, bringing up the Robin gang, and leaving. Once Tim and Duke have known eachother for a while, Tim complains about Duke the same amount he does Damian! Possibly worse because Duke never does anything actually malicious! He’s just Tim’s little brother!

Duke going into Damian’s room when his friends are over and embarrassing him. He’s the designated chaperone when the kids want to go out somewhere. Walking with Dami to and from school. I imagine they play minecraft together

So I want Damian to have one sibling relationship where he isn’t a baby, sue me! No one really brings up the fact that them two are the only of the kids who really live at home, they are sort of forced to put up with eachother. Damian also doesn’t really have a reason to hate Duke, I imagine he’s mostly got over his ‘heir to the bat’ nonsense by the time he gets fostered and, even if he hasn’t, Duke doesn’t really want Bruce as his dad! Duke is in no way competition

I want to see Damian insulting Duke, biting him, hitting him, awful awful shit and everyone is like

‘Oh no! Why is Dami evil again 😣’

But then Duke just yells back at him! 20 minutes later their seen on the couch sharing a pack of skittles! I want one normal sibling relationship in this family!
