I hope it's ok to skip some of the days, because 8, 9, 11 & 13 were just not coming to me BWEHH
So I did the ones I thought I could do. I did em' digitally this time, bc I'm too lazy to open up my sketch book more often LOL
Though, they're still doodles/sketches, bc I don't think I have it in me for a full piece every single day AAAA
Days:
6 - Merch (shout out to the Mettaton plushie I bought. My fam said he looks like Tetris)
7 - Ghost
10 - Phone
12 - Applause
14 - Fashion
15 - Love
16 - ....Leg (I'm so sorry for what I did with this day LMAOOO)
1) there are literal 10 years old (and younger) children in this fandom;
2) the percentage of these children in the fandom is MUCH, MUCH higher than every single one of you here on tumbrl think it is.
"why do people write so much for popular characters?" "why do people write for kudos only?" aside from the fact that the "write for yourself" is a self-perpetuating issue in every fandom and the fact that every writer deserves engagement with their works, it's because there are kids here. Who want to fit in and get praised for their creativity. Which they can only achieve by writing for popular stuff. So maybe take that into account.
Shortly after Madoka Magica released (to great success), everyone started trying to make the next big "magical girl misery" anime. I think the reason those ones didn't really take off is because they missed the point of Madoka: the love of others and self-sacrifice is center stage, and we only really feel bad for the characters of Madoka Magica because we see them happy.
Madoka Magica isn't just a misery fest; Mami's death matters because we understand Mami's dreams and struggles, Sayaka becoming Oktavia is impactful because we see her downfall that isn't her fault (or anyone's for that matter). Madoka (and to a secondary extent, Homura) never give up hope or trying.
Madoka isn't constantly victimised and abused (unlike some over-the-top edgy magical girl animes I know) she's in tragic circumstances and still tries her best; still WANTS the best for the world around her.
Making something sad isn't about how much we see a character suffer and struggle; it's about making the struggles and suffering they go through impactful through their story. Wants, relationships, traits, and flaws... That's what makes a character's pain painful for an audience.
Do (personally) enjoy when an author questions or outright explores knives and conforming to a human constructed gender binary cause honestly like, yea. Why.
What if health care was a religion and what if one of its priests likes to fuck with people who ask him dumb questions
Red Priest number 5 is a Terran convert to the Squama goddex of Love and Pain, and he's so devout nobody even knows his original Terran name. He's also a sarcastic bastard with a terrible bedside manner.
This is a character from Star Trek-inspired world that I like to call 'Ghosts from a dead planet’ - where earthlings are stranded with other aliens on a planet in the middle of nowhere and they’ve built up completely new societies since then. He is also inspired by the many sardonic characters Peter Lorre played because I can’t help myself.
So lately I’ve been into listening to Femtanyl’s music after using it for a TikTok video on my commissions. The lyrics and vibe remind me of Floofty a lot of the time, particularly “DINNER!”, “And I’m Gone” and “LOVESICK, CANNIBAL”. This one is inspired by “And I’m Gone”.
I also learned how to screen record on Krita too! Get ready for better quality footage of my speed draws
I liked the vibe of a sketch @6clawdy6 did (below the cut) of our characters Wiccam and Dexter so much that I asked if I could use it as inspiration and redraw it (as seen above)
