is there any animals he's always wanted? are there animals he's partial to? do you, as the writer, associate him heavily to one, if so, which one and why?

so this question made me emo – but the answer to both is pretty much the same. Billy’s always wanted a dog, especially one from the street or shelters. Give them a home and a second chance in a way he never had. 

The animal I associate Billy with heavily? A pit bull. A dog who, when brought up in a terrible environment can be as nasty as they come. But in truth? They’re like any other dog who just wants a home to be safe in, a family to be with, and someone to care for them. And in turn? They’re unfailingly loyal, can be sweet, big ol’ beef cake dogs. Very much in line with how I interpret Billy as a character.

FRIENDSHIP.    a circumstantial friendship is probably the most obvious one since he’s seen how ‘ fight-y ’ David is and he’s smart enough to know he can learn a thing or two about how his creator’s world works through watching him. Both when he fails and when he succeeds. But I think that may shift into being a more real kind of relationship after a while, even if he is frustrated by trying to understand David. He wants to pick at his brain and he has the impression that David may have the same sentiment, but he’s afraid of the punishment he may receive from the entity if he shares too much with him. Because of this and their clashing objectives and personalities, I think it’d be a rough start of a friendship but honestly, I kind of like the idea of them being at odds with each other and then gradually growing to be closer. Dynamic duo type thing. Also if he doesn’t let Oni climb up on his shoulders he’s gonna be sad, David tall and he wants the height to be able to see where the killer is and totally not because he just wants to be on his shoulders. 

FAMILIAL.    I’ve mentioned before that Oni could be capable of helping in wrangling the entity and freeing the survivors and killers, although this would take a lot of help and cooperation and would probably end with Oni barely surviving. Even if he did survive and the entity was killed he’d effectively be alone again, I’m not sure if it’d be within David’s character to be like “Well I guess this is mine now” but I did think it’d be a sweet idea if he kept Oni around and parented him a bit since he’s never had that. I think it’d also be a sweet gesture for the group to not totally abandon each other after escaping cause hey shared trauma amiright? and that would include the little hellspawn himself! who effectively has no home, no parent now, and no legal guardian. he wouldn’t really expect any sort of kindness still, even if he did just free the very people he was feeding on along with the entity he still fed on them. I think he’d be the only one in the group to just hover outside of it while they’re celebrating / relaxing now that they’re free, and just try to wander off out of embarrassment and total confusing on what to do now. I feel like maybe they could be kind of an endearing little family that struggles to find stability but does their best to take care of each other. Oni certainly isn’t easy to get along with at times with how bratty he can be, and how sensitive and anxious he is at being separated from people he latches to. I’d be aiming for maybe the vibe of a messy struggling but loving little family if that makes sense? Like they’re both Trying to be better and move on past the Entity and their own personal issues but it’s rough sometimes if that makes sense? So while I’m not sure if this would be a relationship you’re interested in or that fits David since he’s not mine and I don’t wanna be rude and force or assume, I thought it’d be a cute idea!

ANTAGONISTIC.    Oni’s killer verse leaves him open to being a big pain in the ass to survivors. He doesn’t really take things too seriously, to him it’s all a fun little game and he gets to play over and over again and have the time of his life. However, David’s will to survive is a little too strong for Oni’s taste, especially when he doesn’t want the man who insulted his creator to be the final boy or last man standing! Going against Oni’s make-believe bullshit script makes him go absolutely ballistic, he goes from being much more casual and playful when he’s hooking something too full-on tantrum mode, which wouldn’t normally be a problem if he didn’t have the power and strength of an eldritch abomination. I think his stance on David would fluctuate depending on how much of a problem he is each trial, if he manages to outsmart him and sacrifice him then he’ll be pleased and nonchalant, no hard feelings from him of course. But if he’s a problem for his “vision” then Oni will definitely be a brat and just tunnel him. I’m so sorry David. For the most part though he’s kind of on the fence about him, he’s fun to play with because he’s so willing to fight to survive which makes for a good show and he doesn’t want him to completely give up because then it isn’t fun.  ( which could be a fun avenue to explore if you wanted to since Oni does value every “actor in his script ) But when he doesn’t die when Oni wants him to he gets upset. Either way, he gets a lot of playful banter and one-liners, and he definitely brings out some of the most personality and raw emotion from Oni that he wouldn’t normally want to show. Overall he would be pretty unpredictable but it would be fun to see all of what that could spawn, like days where he’s “Just not feeling up to playing this game with you today”

💠 / gimme some on what Ace has dealt with in his times / how bad it got while cheating his way up to the top / how much he struggled between spending and saving money, etc.

Saying it got bad is an understatement.

Ace can sometimes hold a good amount of money for a while, but that’s on a rare occasion. He has forgotten to pay rent, buy food, and all of it due to the fact that he is so addicted to the high roller lifestyle. Ace has nearly gotten himself homeless many times due to him being stupid with his cash and needing to itch his gambling scratch. Addiction rules over his every move pretty much.

Therefore has gone a day or so without much nourishment, but always finds ways around that by getting into parties/bars and snagging food that way ( along with a wallet of course ) 

Probably was homeless once or twice during his 30s while starting up his whole con artist bullshit. He came to America with nothing but a shitty wallet and a good sense of lucky on his side. 

Ace is so caught up in getting what he wants he leaves a mess in his every step. He’s made so many enemies along the way that it’s almost stupid. 

He’s been nearly beaten to death on more than one occasion, which includes torture. Ace has had to deal with his own wounds a lot, knows a good amount of first aid because of this as well but not enough to save himself if he were to get into a really bad state. 

Can’t really stop fights from happening, but tries his best to get the upper hand by doing checky hits. Ace doesn’t have the best stamina due to a life of booze and sitting around playing cards. He can get a few great punches but overall? Not great, making him an easy beat down if you manage to track his ass down.

Dude has a lot of small scars in weird places. The largest being over his kidney, which he is missing btw from the money he couldn’t provide. 

Has been chased by dogs owned by mod bosses/rich assholes who he’s tried to take shit from. Has been attacked by them many times. Ace isn’t a fan of dogs in general because of that and is actually a bit scared of them.

Has an underlining state of paranoia, due to being found out a couple of times. He always has to be on the move if he thinks someone has begun to pick up on who he is, or if his cheating games have been found out. 

Due to the constant moving around, Ace doesn’t really know where home is. One day its a penthouse, the next a motel, and the other an apartment. From the running around as well, Ace doesn’t exactly have any friends pre realm that weren’t made during a drunken night of shots that he would remember the next day.

Has had a lot of sex to get up high on the list of celebs for parties/money/etc and not all he would deem a good time, but would never talk about them. He can’t go ruining his rep. 

Does still seek out drugs in order to cope sometimes ( only really uses weed/smokes but has used other drugs as one time highs during rich parties in order to fit in )

Ace is scared about what’s done to himself. He has had sleepless nights getting shit-faced not wanting to face that fact. Has come to terms with the idea that “I’ve come this far may as well take the full stride” aka he can’t turn back now and is willing to go down in flames. 

This guy has basically dug his own grave, and cannot get out all because he wanted to be a hotshot/craved escapism.

      her voice broke the campfire's ambient silence. it would appear she was just talking out loud, if you took into consideration her body language not moving to really acknowledge david specifically. she was talking to him, though - she just couldn't bring herself to stare at him to do it on her internal assumption she was about to become very emotional. " you remind me a lot of my brother. " she gave a pause. an internal REFLECTION rather than something used for dramatization.

she’d bite the inside of her cheek. her leg hadn’t stopped BOUNCING since she began talking. she could already feel the tears pricking at her eyes even if she had only said one thing. this wasn’t going to be an easy thing to say----- but she’d be DAMNED if she wasn’t going to try.

      “ i didn’t know i still needed a brother to look up to when i got here, ” she muses briefly.  “ that isn’t.  .  . a necessity you’d think would be on the mind in this place. but---- you really, helped me realize that.   .   . it’s not only something i still needed, but it was something that i missed, and that i WANTED back so desperately. ” 

this is the first time she moved briefly to specifically direct her words to him- if he hadn’t figured out she was talking to him by now. it was a small movement of just placing her feet slightly diagonal so they pointed towards him more, and turning her body slightly so they would align. her eyes and her head didn’t move though, aimed towards the flames.  “ you’ve really been there for me. helped me through a lot -- taught me a lot. ” there’s a dry, harsh swallow in her throat that makes it hard for her to continue. she persists. 

“ you’re FAMILY to me, david. ” there’s a tremble on her lips and in her voice, maybe even the slightest break, and the tears on her cheek feel cool in comparison to the muggy, warm atmosphere.  “ and -- i love you ------ v -- very much. ” you’re my brother, david king. 

she couldn’t say the word. but that is very much what she meant.

“You wanna know what I like about David?” Laughter erupts from the freckled athlete, body trembling from amusement. Her lean form rests against a hefty tree, back nestling against the bark. “How much time do you have? I mean, we have eternity...so, uh, guess you don’t gotta answer that.” Arms fold across her chest, a grin forming easily. “I’m telling you now though, if you tell David, I’ll never forgive you. See, David and I have a good relationship, but I don’t want him knowing how much I like him. I’ll either get teased about it or he’ll tell me to buzz off, both of which I wouldn’t want. Our friendship isn’t that flimsy, but if he hears me singing his praise--” She goes quiet, though it looks like she wants to say more about it. She doesn’t. Instead, Meg shifts against the tree before switching gears.

“David is...easily misunderstood. Hell, when I first met him, I thought he was an asshole. Just some prick who thought he was better than the rest of us because of that insane endurance of his...but he’s so much more than that.” As her voice dies off, there’s a moment where her aloof expression dims. A serious tone appears in her voice when she speaks next. “I’m guilty of misreading him...and I hate that I fought with him as much as I did when he first arrived. I mean, we both have explosive personalities, so I guess it makes sense that we’d fight about petty shit. It was thanks to a nasty trial that we were able to overcome our egos and see the strength in each other. Our differences were set aside and we focused on the singular goal of making it out of that trial alive. And you know what? Despite being down a Survivor and no generators being done, we managed it.”Meg brings a hand to her lower face, had masking her lips as she contemplates the memory.

“Eventually, we were able to speak without fear of walking on eggshells. We might have our spats still, but nothing like before. Those first few fights were all due to misunderstandings and not knowing the other properly. Now, if we fight, it’s still very likely that it’s over something petty, but there’s no animosity to it.”

“Remember how I said that I thought David was this conceited prick? A meathead? He’s not. He’s one of the most altruistic people I’ve ever met--even before the Entity’s realm. David refuses to give up on people and will never leave someone behind. Not while he’s still drawing breath. Even when bleeding profusely, he’ll sprint like it doesn’t bother him and rescue people despite his condition--but he’s not an idiot about it. No, he’s methodical. He won’t take any unnecessary risks unless he can guarantee everyone’s safety. It might mean he goes down, but it’s a price he’s willing to pay. I...may not like it, but it’s admirable nonetheless. Sometimes, I throw a wrench into that plan by going back for him, which we’ve fought about before. Honestly, it’s worth the scolding. He knows I won’t just leave him behind either. He’s so busy watching over everyone else...but who’s gonna look out for him? I know he hasn’t lived a soft life. He’s calloused and has an iron mentality. He doesn’t need anyone coming back for him, he might say. Guess I can’t help myself. That’s what happens when you like someone this much though; you’re willing to take their ire if it means helping them. I think he just doesn’t want to see anyone get harmed though, especially if it were for his own sake.”“Aside from his valuable strengths as a Survivor, David is...fun to be around. He values everyone and is able to find common ground with the others. I feel like I can talk to him about anything. Not just the hardships that come with living in this nightmare. We could talk about sports, joke about inappropriate topics, or just talk about life. Admittedly...he’s kinda charming too. I think if we escaped and continued our friendship, it’d prove challenging. Not so much for us but for the world. Being near David and liking him is natural for me, but it’s like I said before--we’re explosive. God have mercy wherever we go, because I bet we’d have a great time together if we ever get out of here.”
