Meet: @seemeghan In 2017 I was a single broke mom working over 50 hrs a week I had always been a larger woman but die to stress at work and in life I'd developed a full blow eating addiction and binge eating disorder. I felt trapped and alone. I wanted better for mine and my daughters life but couldnt control my eating. One day I woke up sick and tired of being sick and tired. I decided I was worthy of a positive healthy happy life. It didnt happen over night it took a lot of time to make slow and gradual healthy lifestyle changes. Eating less processed foods and more healthy fruits veggies and lean meats. At 420lbs my mobility was limited and I had excruciating arthritis flare ups in my back but after 3 months of eating better and losing weight I began to practice yoga in the mornings and walk on my lunch breaks at work. After 17 months I hit my goal weight losing 240lbs. I still continue to make small healthier changes to lifestyle everyday pushing to be a better healthier and happier mom. Starting Tip: Start small. Another myth about Intermittent Fasting is that it is a calorie-cutting diet, which could be part of the reason women would see negative effects from this pattern of eating. I get a lot of questions about intermittent fasting and this is my take on it! 👇 I hope this helps you and answers your questions! 🤓☺️ Although intermittent fasting is a growing trend used for its benefits for improving health and aiding weight loss efforts, many women have heard it isn’t that great for them. Specifically, that it may mess up a female menstrual cycle, negatively impact hormones, and decrease libido. Even if some women have experienced this while adding intermittent fasting to their diets, there’s a number of factors that may be causing this outside of IF. Is Intermittent Fasting Starvation? First, let’s clear up what intermittent fasting is and isn’t. Intermittent fasting is a style of eating based on certain time intervals. It does not put your body in starvation mode, which can lead to a slowing of metabolism and promote fat storage. Short-term fasts have been shown to increase the speed of your metabolism while your body’s fat cells receive direction to break down body fat. Fasting can, however, start to have a negative effect on the body after 48 hours when you are doing a prolonged fast if you didn’t build up your health reserves, meaning your vitamin, mineral and protein storage.
