📔 📔 ( one abt fran, one abt miles >:] - for klavier )
send “📔” to read an entry from my muse’s diary about your muse
An entry from Klav's journal app about Franziska, written lying on the bed, kicking his feet in the air like a teenage girl.
I love the faces she makes before she decides to mask them with something more familiar. I understand the need to mask them, but, despite that, I want to see more of what is underneath all that. I want to see how she looks when she is the happiest. I kind of want to be the reason she is so happy, she can cry.
I should put it in my new song. Cry only happy tears for me...
An entry from Klav's journal app about Miles, written late in the night, unable to sleep from the anxious thoughts
He and I have the worst timing when it comes to meeting each other, but that does NOT mean he hates me or anything. Sure, I blurt out the worst things when I see him, or I have an arguement with his trusted people when he is nearby, or I ruin a life or two... But surely we have some things in common? He didn't make my life hell, though he could, so we can get along. We can get along.

If he were being honest, Klavier expected himself to fall, taking Franziska with him, as soon as she tried to pick him up. Instead, he was pleasantly?! surprised about being held up to a wall.
When he was put back down, he let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding.
"Ach, danke..." His voice was back to normal, despite some new stray thoughts appearing in his mind. Hopefully, he knew how to deal with them.
Tumblr media
"I didn't know you were so strong, Frau Von Karma," he said with a grin, hands on his hips, leaning into her space.
Yep, he totally knew how to deal with them.
@legalbrats ‘ Klavier got lifted into the heavens…
his sudden squeal, the way his voice rises several decibels as she hoists him upward and toward the wall, deceptively strong arms wrapped tight around his middle…she decides she really likes that.
she wasn’t even aware he could make a sound like that. maybe she can make him do it again–?
but along comes the cause for her sudden manhandling - Gumshoe barrels down the narrow hallway, hollering, chasing a little shiba inu with a thick manila folder clasped in its jaws, papers flying like the confetti he likes to arrange for victories…
Franziska waits until the two disappear around a bend in the hallway ( perhaps a little too long…? ) before setting Klavier on his feet again.
“Apologies. For my rash action.” she looks pointedly away, under the pretense of checking for other imaginary threats. “That scruffy detective has no spacial awareness.”

Thank you so much for your answers :D :D :D In both cases Manfred being a father would really really make the guilt worse, wouldn't it.
In the Yogi AU I just had this very vivid image of Miles visiting his father and them each putting a hand together against the glass, and of that one scene in Dumbo you know with him visiting his mom, and Manfred seeing this and being like "damn. This is going farther than I thought it would. Why am I having Emotions." I wonder if Miles goes to the police at some point to try and confess to the crime? Would Manfred try to prevent him from doing so, potentially leading to harsh arguments, or does he try to tell himself he doesn't care and if Miles wants to go to prison then Manfred certainly will indulge him? Franziska would certainly be very mad at Miles for doing something like that...
And in the Miles AU, do you think Manfred would try to stop Gregory from going to the Feys? Because Gregory doesn't really need him to do so, and I'm not sure how Manfred would prevent him. I think it's more likely he'd just try to convince Gregory the Feys are frauds and such pitiful supernatural nonsense won't bring him closure. Does the truth come out at any point? Or does Miles's death remain forever unsolved? If Phoenix still goes on to become a defense attorney (which I think most likely than not, and not just because of the "honoring Miles's memory" thing; I love a good "Phoenix is Elle Woods" meme as much as anybody else and will make the joke ad nauseam but being a lawyer just suits him so well, he's got a HUGE hero syndrome and that is the ideal outlet for him), does Gregory take him under his wing? Does Phoenix intern at Edgeworth Law Offices rather than Fey & Co.?
I think that in the Miles AU Gregory's perceptive, beyond his devastating grief that is, would be interesting... because Yogi would insist he is innocent, wouldn't he. I wonder if Gregory goes to hear him out. I cannot imagine him defending him, but just... trying to get closure maybe? And Yogi insisting that he's innocent, he didn't do it, and insisting to Gregory's face that "you're a defense attorney, you've got to believe me, I didn't kill your kid" and Gregory being torn between "he's behaving exactly like all my clients" and "he was the only one who could do it, the gall he has to lie to my face"... I can see him investigating obsessively, looking for the third option... and Manfred catching wind of what he's doing and on one hand he feels for him but on the other hand this cannot go on. Gregory cannot be allowed to find the truth... quite the pickle, as another prosecutor would say x)
Anyway hhhhh sorry about the ramble your ideas ignited something in me. Thank you so much for answering and have a nice trip!!
Don’t ever apologize for rambling, I love that my idea made you happy and even inspired you!  Yes, Manfred’s greatest weakness is that he’s a family man at heart ( forever thinking about the anime only episode where Manfred, at Franziska’s demand, takes her and Miles to fucking build-a-bear and IHOP, the  highlight of the Ace Attorney series.)  For the Yogi au, the scene with with Gregory and Miles is… so…good…the best thing I’ve eaten today! Manfred would tell himself he doesn’t  care if Miles incriminates himself, less trouble for him, but Manfred would stop Miles every single time, assuring him it’s not his fault ( which is one of the few truths Manfred has given Miles) and that Miles shouldn’t waste this opportunity of life Gregory gave him. Which is meant to be encouraging and to inspire Miles but just makes him feel even more guilty and undeserving of everything he has :(.  Franziska definitely would be confused and concerned and upset, even more so when she learns Miles’s behavior isn’t just something she can fix with her whip or her father. It’d probably drive her deeper into her career as a prosecutor. For the Miles au, I imagine at the start, when emotions are fresh, Gregory would absolutely hold no sympathy for Yogi, especially considering the attack in the elevator. Manfred would definitely be influencing Gregory negatively as well, perhaps even being the one to prosecute Yogi in court. But as more time goes on and the feelings of pain and guilt and wrongness don’t go away, Gregory probably start to question the events that occurred and inevitably Yogi’s potential innocence. For the Fey stuff, I think Manfred and Gregory would be practically codependent at this point, and Gregory thinking Manfred, who’s been there for him ever since the loss of his son, would give him the best advice regarding his actions, including attempting to contact a spirit medium to get closure.  Manfred naturally would be like “ no no no no they’re all shams trust me bro the man who’s entire lineage is chained down by the living concept of karma don’t do this please” in all his cool, calculated charisma.  ( Though Manfred does individual investigation with the supernatural himself… Frankenstein au, anyone ?) I love the idea of Phoenix working with Gregory instead of Mia, and I think that, due to both of their determination and skills, the truth WOULD come out eventually. Of course, that’d open a whole new can of worms, especially with how close Gregory and Manfred are. I hope you enjoyed anon, thanks for the interest and asks. My main journey is going back to the place I was born in an attempt of healing. It’s been fun so far though I nearly passed out multiple times from all the walking I’ve been doing lmao.

Love Fool
First posted on AO3.
Inspired by Gyakuten Kenji|Ace Attorney Investigations, after 1-5, One-shot.
The thirteenth time when Miles Edgeworth cast a glance towards Franziska von Karma, she finally could not stand it anymore. That conflicted expression of wanting to speak but holding back didn't suit him at all. It wasn't like him to be indecisive. Did he throw away all of her father's teachings?
"What's wrong?" She looked straight at him, subconsciously tightening the whip in her hand.
He opened his mouth, but didn't say anything. She continued to look at him and the raised whip was about to fall--
"Franziska-"
The sound of the whip falling was crisp. Somehow, from his indifferent expression without much change she actually read a hint of relief.
"Have you been deceived by someone?"
"What nonsense are you talking about, Miles Egdeworth?" She wasn't polite as she whipped him again. "Are you underestimating me?"
"I misspoke," he still didn't dodge. "Okay, I meant to ask if--"
"Have you been deceived by a bad guy?"
She was taken aback for a moment before realizing what he meant. Her face instantly turned red. Her hand had already started moving before her brain had completed its thoughts, but this gave her a gap to think of a counterattack.
"Excuse me, Miles Egdeworth," she switched back to her calm smile and gestured her index finger. "you haven't even had a girlfriend yourself, have you?"
"A love fool like you might as well worry about yourself first."
"Franziska, you're not even of legal age!"
"Fools can only make foolish statements. The legal age in Germany is eighteen. Case closed."
He couldn't say anything in response, but she didn't feel any sense of victory. In the end, this was just a stupid and insignificant matter that had nothing to do with the creed of the prosecutors, her goal, or his life. How could he have the leisure to waste her time and energy with such trivial matters?
However, he smiled, which made her even more annoyed. "That's...great." Although she lowered her voice more than usual, she could still hear herself clearly.
"Great for what? If you don't have anything else I'll go first, there's still a case to attend to."
"Hold it!"
I'm not a suspect who needs to continue giving testimony, she thought, but still didn't swing her whip. "You'll be punished if you continue making foolish statements, you know?" She whipped towards the ground. "What do you want, Miles Edgeworth?"
"You're single now, aren't you?"
"What, what does that have to do with anything? You're single too, aren't you?"
"I just wanted to confirm."
"Are you mocking me, Miles Edgeworth?" Franziska von Karma increased the strength of her whip swing, "Even if I'm not single, what does it have to do with you? Fool!"
"No, why would I..." he said, "At least I watched you grow up."
So he's trying to reminiscing with her, she thought. But their relationship should have ended a long time ago...from the moment the DL6 incident was brought to a close. More precisely it shouldn't have existed in the first place: she wasn't supposed to be his older sister - although the guy would surely retort that he was the older brother, but she was the one who bossed people around between the two of them - in any case things weren't supposed to be that way. "That's your reason?" An unfamiliar emotion came over her, "What a poor argument ......"
She sometimes wondered what he really thought of her. She could probably be considered a companion or a junior until the ugly, bloody truth was revealed, but after that she no longer wanted to think about it. The daughter of his father's murderer, an international prosecutor who had met in some of his cases ...... can these count as relationships?
She didn't know what he really thought of her. She didn't really want to know, nor did he really want to - would make such a statement was not expected by himself, he would not have been some vulgar person who liked gossip. Although he had been flirted with a few times, he had never taken those words to heart. There's nothing wrong with being single since it's just a way of life that suits him.
But things might be different for Franziska, he thought. While the improper relationship between the international prosecutor and the international police officer was certainly rumour, her authentic emotional state was what really needed to be figured out. She was only 19, she couldn't afford to have her promising career cut short by an unworthy relationship. Someone worthy of her would have to be at least a better prosecutor than him, although he hadn't seen one yet that fit that bill.
So he hesitated, searching his heart for the right words to use in his inquiry, and ended up saying something terrible. Franziska noticed his lapse, which made him even more nervous, and it was only when the familiar whip fell on his body that he relaxed a bit. Her expression gave the answer he expected, but he was careful to add additional wording.
Being blocked by her strong argument was a complete departure from his initial assumption, however. Her tongue was getting sharper, he thought with a sense of relief and some amusement. A love fool ...... what a sharp sarcasm. A nice counterattack, but he wasn't going to budge. She was only nineteen and hadn't been to a bar mitzvah yet.
But he forgot that she became a prosecutor in German. Funny enough, he also took his judicial exams abroad. She was no longer the little girl in the sleeveless blouse who hadn't gotten her badge yet. He had to admit that she was now a reliable adult ...... which is great.
Returning to the present, they both fell silent. He wanted to end this inexplicable conversation, but couldn't find the words. She hated it when he acted superior in front of her, and he couldn't have known better. "It's good that your career as a prosecutor will not be affected," is definitely enough to earn him a dozen lashes, and "Can you wait for me?" such dark and dirty thought can not be detected by her, even the slightest bit. She is only his junior. His former junior.
"Miles," she said suddenly, "how many hours of sleep did you get this week?"
"Why are you suddenly asking this?"
"It's true that the lack of sleep has caused your brain in lack of blood supply," she laughed, "It's so unlike you to speak so foolishly today."
"Carnegie's trial is tomorrow, yet you have the leisure to come to me to ask such insignificant trifles ...... Let me guess, you have heard the rumours made by the fools in the prosecutor's office, haven't you?"
"Well, um ......" he moved his index finger, still with his hands on his chest.
"Only fools would take that sort of foolish rumours to heart. I'm the heir to Karma-"
"Until the smuggling case is completely solved you will focus only on this, right?"
"Isn't that what things supposed to be?"
"Then I'll be looking forward to your results," he said, "and I won't concede defeat in the competition of pursuing the truth, Franziska."
All that answered him was the sound of the whip falling. He didn't know how she felt about him, nor did he really want to - and she did the same. He didn't know the whispered words to herself that she unintentionally divulged after she turned and walked out a few steps: please wait for me. Don't leave me again. You will not be allowed to leave me alone again, you will not be allowed to run away from me again. I will find out everything, and the moment the results are published -
You will never be able to refuse me again, Miles Edgeworth.

Franziska and Phoenix headcanons please?
Oh I absolutely LOVE these two! Very underrated dynamic!
(These headcanons include Narumitsu, and the last one heavily involves Franmaya, so if that’s not your cup of tea then no worries!)
Realistic Headcanon:
They can get very competitive if the opportunity presents itself.
At first, Phoenix is terrified of Franziska (and for good reason). He wants nothing to do with her and her obsession with perfection. But as time goes by, and circumstances toughen up Phoenix and soften Franziska, the two find themselves on a more equal wavelength. Sure, Phoenix is still more likely to let things go before they go too far, but otherwise? You had better not be in the same room as the two of them when a bet is on the line.
(More Headcanons Below!)
Unrealistic (but Hilarious) Headcanon):
Franziska’s whip is practically a part of her body at this point. Get on her bad side? The whip is out faster than you can blink.
And slightly unrelated, but I do headcanon that Franziska is so skilled with using her whip that she is able to hold back enough to prevent devastating harm. For example, while she does use her whip on literally anyone who crosses or annoys her (including Phoenix, of course), she doesn’t lash them so hard that they bleed, or are in excruciating pain. She’s able to hold back enough that it feels like a particularly painful slap, or even a punch when aimed a certain way, and the only markings left by the whip would be a bruise or a thin, red mark reminiscent of a sunburn that would fade away after a day or two.
Nevertheless, that whip still hurts like a bitch, and Phoenix has been a reoccurring victim of its wrath. In the years following the Engarde case, Phoenix’s mere presence infuriates Franziska, serving as a reminder of her first failure. Franziska does eventually warm up to Phoenix, but it takes a long time, and in the meantime Phoenix knows to expect a crack and a sting of pain whenever he sees the blue-haired prosecutor. And maybe Franziska does derive some satisfaction whenever he sees Phoenix flinch at her presence (who are we kidding, she totally does).
But then, something unexpected happens.
It’s many years after the two first met. Perhaps Phoenix even has Trucy now, who Franziska absolutely adores. But fools will be fools, and even after developing a begrudging fondness for this man her brother is so besotted for, Phoenix will undoubtedly spout some nonsense that has Franzisia gnashing her teeth and reaching for her whip.
Except when the whip descends and Phoenix instinctively recoils, his eyes widen. Not in pain, but in surprise.
Because the whip didn’t hurt him.
Phoenix had been whipped so much that he developed some kind of tolerance against the pain. Perhaps the constant lashes (as well as the other physical abuse he endured throughout his years as a defense attorney) helped him literally develop a thicker skin. Or maybe he’s so used to the pain that his brain just doesn’t register it as pain anymore.
He turns to Franziska, who looks just as shocked as he is. He realizes his mistake and tries to fake the pain, but it’s too late. Franziska sees right through him.
Her whip no longer works on Phoenix. He has secured another complete victory over her.
Because Franziska can’t whip him harder. Any harder, and she might actually cut him. She tries to whip him several times in a row, but it doesn’t change anything, and she’s quick to realize that continuing to whip him would only make it hurt less in the long run.
So to this day, Phoenix remains the only person that Franziska never whips. At first, Franziska’s subordinates believe that it’s because Franziska is afraid of him. That’s disproven soon enough, because Franziska has discovered other methods of intimidation that work perfectly fine on the thick-skinned attorney, much to Phoenix’s chagrin.
Maybe it would have been better if the whip still hurt…
Heart-Crushing and Awful Headcanon:
So… Phoenix and Franziska during the seven year gap.
In my headcanon, Miles was there. There is absolutely no question about that. Miles just about dropped everything to catch the first flight back to Japanifornia as soon as he heard the news, and even took some time off (which was absolutely unheard of for the prosecutor) to help Phoenix and his new daughter get to a place where they were stable. And even after this, when Miles returned to his job and occasionally needed to work abroad, he still regularly checked in with Phoenix and offered both emotional and financial support whenever it was needed.
Now, Franziska is a bit of a different story.
When she first heard the news, she was furious. How could that foolish defense attorney do something so unbelievably foolish!? Sure, Phoenix had done his fair share of stupid things, and his courtroom tactics are chaotic enough to belong in a circus, but to forge evidence? And against a rookie!? What was he thinking!?
Phoenix received many calls within the week of his disbarment, well-wishes and reassurances from friends (and even a few former clients) that helped ground the former lawyer and gave him the strength to keep going. Franziska wasn’t among those who called.
Eventually, Franziska received a call of her own from Miles. Of course, it’s about Phoenix. As soon as the man’s name left Mile’s lips, Franziska was off. She was absolutely fuming, ranting with a biting tone about a lack of brains and an even bigger lack of honor, about how foolish Phoenix was to even attempt something so stupid, and how she is an even bigger fool to have ever been bested by such a shameful excuse for a defense attorney.
And then Miles told her the truth, and her blood ran cold.
…The call Phoenix received a few weeks after his disbarment was a surprise, the caller even more so. Franziska’s words were as sharp as ever, and if Phoenix wasn’t already feeling so numb from the aftershock of everything that happened, he may have even flinched. But years of friendship with Miles had taught Phoenix how to see the care and concern behind the scolding, and he found himself smiling despite himself (and feeling glad that Franziska wasn’t there in person to see it, since he would no doubt receive a whipping).
Whenever Franziska overhears a subordinate or colleague badmouthing the disgraced attorney, they are quick to face the wrath of her whip. She was foolish enough to believe the same farce that lost Phoenix his badge, but she will not make the same mistake again.
Unrealistic Headcanon That Will Probably Never Happen:
Psst. Hey. Can I interest you in some… Franmaya?
So here Franziska is, lamenting over her foolish crush on that foolish (but admittedly beautiful) spirit medium. And that spirit medium happens to be best friends with a certain foolish defense attorney. The two are so close that they are practically siblings.
Which is obviously a huge problem for Franziska, who has historically not gotten along with Phoenix. But if she wants to have even a chance with Maya, she needs to develop an amicable relationship with the people she cares about.
She probably starts with Pearl, who takes… a while to warm up to her (I have some headcanons about the two of them that you can read here if you’d like!) She may even visit Khurain village and spend some time with the nuns and mediums, learning all she can about the history and culture Maya grew up with. The spirit mediums warm up to Franziska quickly, admiring her spirit and her dedication to learning, which is another victory for the prosecutor.
But she’s stalling, and she knows it. So she grits her teeth, takes a deep breath, and gives Phoenix a call.
Now, Franziska still scares Phoenix, there’s no doubt about that. But she scares him the same way Miles occasionally scares him, where Phoenix knows that he’s in deep trouble if he ever gets on Miles’ bad side, but also knows Miles enough to where he can see the cracks behind his mean, hardened persona.
And Phoenix isn’t stupid. He sees the way that Franziska looks at Maya, as much as she thinks she’s getting away with it, and he’s heard enough of Maya’s gushing to know that Franziska’s feelings are requited. But that doesn’t mean he can’t have a little fun. I mean, come on, when else would he get another opportunity like this, when Franziska is bending over backwards to get on his good side, despite how much she hates every moment? He’s spent enough time with Miles to know when to stop and when to keep prodding.
But he’s not heartless. He eventually gives Franziska his blessing (not that she needs it, he’s quick to clarify) and encourages her in her romantic pursuits. And it all works out, because whenever Maya is also in the same room as the two of them, Franziska seems to soften up ever so slightly, which means less ire directed Phoenix’s way. Really, it’s a win for everyone involved.
Thanks so much for the ask! Hope I did these two justice (pun intended!)

a million years later I’m done with aa3 and once again ranking lawyers by how much I would want to be their file clerk. there are so many lawyers in this one holy shit
phoenix: his office manager is a nineteen year old with very little management experience which is kind of a red flag. on the other hand at least he has an office manager so I wouldn’t be dealing with his nonsense alone. and he does clean the toilet without having to be nagged abt it which is the kind of thing I look for in any man that I’m going to be sharing any kind of space with for any extended length of time. 8/10, loses points because of his light caseload
mia (flashback era): I’d prob be technically working for the whole firm, not just her specifically, which means I’d at least be at an established business who knows how to set up health insurance for their employees. and she seems like she would be nice to her assistants even when she’s horrifically stressed so, and would properly appreciate how nice and neat her files are. 9/10, loses a point bc she had that big gap between cases and I’d have to deal w her coworkers
goldberg: again, love to work at a nice stable firm. he seems a bit obnoxious to deal with all the time but mostly wouldn’t speak to me except to ask me to mail letters or tell me awkward stories if we were in the kitchen at the same time which is like. tolerably annoying boss behavior. also he has a receptionist, and I love to gossip with receptionists. 7/10, talk to me abt your PTO policy and we’ll see
diego armando: I do not care for the way he talks to women and if I had to work directly with him I would request for that not to be the case pretty much immediately. no I don’t care that he and mia were dating, don’t condescendingly call your much younger female coworker “kitten.” 5/10, still might put up with him for the stable income (see above)
payne: again, I’m allergic to older men condescending to me. I mean, I’m allergic to all men condescending to me but there’s a specific flavor of rage that fills me when he calls mia “little girl” in court and I’m not working for men who would talk to me like that thank you very much. 2/10, maybe if I were really desperate
godot: being dead didn’t improve the misogyny and also my entire job would consist of getting him more coffee. I think I would snap and poison him myself. 0/10, he barely takes cases so what would even be the point
edgeworth (flashback era): god he was such a little shit (affectionate) and I would not want to be anywhere near him. absolutely the kind of smug bastard who tries to tell me I made a formatting error on the document I typed up for him and won’t listen when I try to explain that both ways are actually correct and it’s entirely a matter of taste. 3/10, no thank you
edgeworth (defense attorney era): actively having several different crises over phoenix being in the hospital and briefly following in his father’s footsteps and also probably jetlagged as hell which would not make him a great boss and probably would snap at me more than I would prefer however I would love to have a front row seat to his gay drama and honestly, being competent and fairly organized and not actively cruel or sexist goes a long way imo. unfortunately a very short term temp gig so no benefits or long-term job security. 8/10, for once I don’t have to deduct points for him being a prosecutor
franziska: has maybe chilled out a little tiny bit and grown as a person since last game. however. would still prefer not to be in danger of getting hit with a whip by my boss, and don’t love the concept of working for someone with such unforgiving standards of perfectionism. I already expect that from myself, I don’t need my boss reinforcing it. on the other hand, if she paid my travel expenses I might consider it. 5/10, still losing points for being a prosecutor and also a teenager

23 but it's the prosecutor's office being press-ganged into comedy shenanigans by Klavier
Alright! You got it homie ^_^
23. “I immediately regret this decision.”
It started off innocently enough, with just a knock on the door. Miles had no reason to expect that opening his office door would be his first mistake that afternoon.
“Ah, Herr Edgeworth,” Klavier said, “I was wondering if you could help settle a debate?”
“A debate? Is it related to a particular case.”
“Er…not quite… it’s more of a theoretical argument that some of us are engaged in. It shouldn’t take too much time if you’re free of course.”
It seemed like a simple enough request, really. Klavier even gave him an easy out. There was no reason to suspect anything particularly out of the ordinary, so Miles made his second mistake that afternoon and agreed to assist for a few minutes.
-------
“You absolute fool! You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.” Franziska exclaimed as she hit a nearby desk with her whip, knocking over several papers on it in the process.
“Silence!” Simon banged his hand on a sperate desk, sending even more papers falling onto the floor. “You have been spouting nothing but nonsense for the past hour!”
“How dare you, Simon Blackquill. I will make you eat your words.”
“I immediately regret this decision,” Miles mumbled as he took in the scene in front of him. It looked like a war zone being held in a spot that a tornado had gone through. There were signs of furniture with long slashes across (the work of Franziska’s whip, naturally), claw marks scattered everywhere (Taka’s work, under Simon’s orders no doubt) and various papers and other assorted knick-knacks scattered everywhere (blame likely shared equally between both of them).
Miles turned toward Klavier, glaring at him furiously. “Didn’t you say this was a debate?”
“Ja, I’m pretty sure this is what qualifies as a debate for them.”
At that moment Franziska and Simon seemed to have simultaneously noticed the new presence in the room and immediately turned towards Miles.
“Good, Miles Edgeworth you’re here. If you could explain to this foolish – “
“Edgeworth-dono, please explain to this completely stubborn – “
“He has absolutely no understanding of the – “
“She is being completely unreasonable – “
“Could both of you just stop talking for one minute!” Miles interjected, silencing the other two quickly. He began rubbing his temples to combat the headache that was starting from this nonsense “I don’t even know what it is that you’re shouting about.”
At his words both Franziska and Simon stood in silence, both of them giving the other an awkward sidelong glance clearly not wanting to be the one answer.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of painfully awkward silence, Klavier spoke up. “Pineapple on pizza is good, ja?”
“I…what?” Miles blinked in incredulous astonishment. There was no way that this was what these grown-ass adults were arguing about for the past hour. Then again considering the state of the office, perhaps that wasn’t as out there as Miles would assume.
“Okay so, last night while watching a movie with Herr Forehead we decided on ordering pizza, and he had the nerve to tell me pineapple on pizza was an abomination.” Klavier made an annoyed expression. “I decided to get a second opinion and we still haven't come to an agreement.”
“Justice-Dono is completely correct in his statement, pineapple on pizza is an abomination”
“Apollo Justice is a fool, as are you, Simon Blackquill. Pineapple is a perfect topping to have on pizza."
Miles’ only response was to sigh.
--------
“Holy shit,” Phoenix exclaimed between fits of hysterical laughter. “So, what happened next?”
“They all started yelling at each other, while Prosecutor Gavin kept dragging more and more people into their argument. It went on for at least another hour until Prosecutor Payne showed up announcing that he didn’t like pizza and then everyone ganged up on him which took at least another hour. By the end of it the building was such a disaster your office looks pristine by comparison.”
“Yikes, that bad huh?” Phoenix rubbed Miles’ back in sympathy. “Sounds like quite the eventful day.”
“Quite.” Miles smiled slightly at his husband’s comfort. Today might have been headache inducing, but at least things were more peaceful at home.
“What a dumb thing to even get so worked up about, pineapple on pizza tastes great.”
“Objection!” Miles yelled out, walking a step back away from Phoenix. “You meant that pineapple on pizza tastes awful, right?”
“Uh no…I meant it tastes great. Sometimes you just want a combination of sweet and savory on pizza, you know?”
“It’s fruit, why would anyone need to put fruit on pizza!”
“I can’t believe –“
“Ugh, you’re impossible – “

Flustering the Frilly Fam: The Headcanons
Anon, Tumblr seriously dislikes your request for some reason and wouldn't let me post it the way I normally would. Sorry about that, and about the wait. I had to move, basically.
Miles Edgeworth
In spite of his cool exterior, Miles gets flustered quite easily
He may even drop one of his infamous NGOOHs
His S/O has to be careful with their teasing
Miles struggles with picking up cues at times, so he may take their teasing to heart
I imagine he wouldn't exactly mind some playful banter but would prefer it if they only did it when they were alone
The King of Snark will definitely fight back; you can't be a lawyer without being good with your words and we all know Miles can get quite creative during his cultured roasts lmao
They tease him over things he needlessly finds shameful the most
"Aw, Miles, we just got the latest issue of The Steel Samurai manga in the mail. How odd, surely there must be some sort of a mistake?"
"Hm-m, well, yes, I- A mistake, yes..."
"After all, there are no children in this household, just me and my lovely, mature partner. Whyever could we have gotten this?"
"Well, n-no, my dear, I don't know..."
"Oh, relax, Miles. I'm just pulling your leg. Enjoy your book, dear."
Franziska Von Karma
Harder to fluster than her cute little subordinate
I would advise against serious teasing whilst she's got her hand on the whip handle
She wouldn't actually hit her S/O, it's all empty threats to make them stop - that's how they know she truly is flustered
Franziska likes to tease and bicker with her partner, but she is definitely the more sensitive one of the two in the end - if anyone ends up blushing and sputtering their words, it's going to be her
"You're such a fool at times, you know," Franziska laughs, a smug expression on her face. Her partner shrugs, "And you're in love with a fool. What does that make you then?" Franziska's eyes widen, hand gripping the leather cord in her palms. "M-me? Well, I-I suppose I-"
"Am the bigger fool, then." The person across her finishes, grinning ear to ear. "Nonsense! I'm no fool... fool!"

PLEASE TALK ABT RATATTORNEY FRANZISKA (@musicallygt)
first of all franziska thinks she's dealing with a prodigy like herself, a true intellectual equal. becoming a defense attorney at age 17 is no small feat (it's not NEARLY as impressive as her becoming a prosecutor at 13 but she's willing to give credit where it's due)
when maya beats her the first time, franziska is angry. and shocked. but she's also feeling something... else? she doesn't know what this feeling is and pushes it far, far away so she doesn't have to deal with it. (she has romantic feelings for her. the first person to ever beat her being this cute has made her fascinated and a little obsessed)
meanwhile maya is the hot new manga title Help The Prosecutor Is A Sexy Lady Dracula And She Wants To Whip Me To Death
"Nick I know I made fun of your feelings towards Edgey but I totally understand now."
so now franziska thinks, all she has to do is beat maya fey one time and these complicated feelings she doesn't fully understand will just go away. her motivation to completely destroy her has effectively doubled.
it doesn't work out that way.
maya wins again, and between that and just how frustrating having to deal with the likes of... circus folk has been, she is so goddamn angry. this close to committing the next murder herself just for a chance to win.
so of course, she's going into matt engarde's trial with an airtight case. she's gonna win this time- bang.
she's shot. she can't prosecute. she tries, she tries very hard, but ultimately it's not possible. too bad, really, because with nick in the clutches of De Killer, she probably would have won this one easily.
it's still a satisfying moment for her, bursting in and saving the day with decisive evidence. it's satisfying for her to see Maya's perfect record broken, even if she didn't personally break it herself. finally, the moment she's been waiting for, to see Maya Fey officially defeated. and yet, maya seems... happy. Relieved, even.
De Killer drops Nick off in the defendant lobby before slipping away undetected. At this point nobody's concerned with hiding him, only that he's here. The only person in the room that doesn't know about him is Franziska anyway. Nick and Maya have their tearful reunion. Franziska desperately wanted to see Maya crying after losing a trial but this... is not quite what she meant.
They explain the situation to Franziska. Realizing that her true foe wasn't a cute prodigy but really just an uneducated little... thing breaks her a little bit. This country is insane and she needs to get out of it immediately.
She thought that realizing that Maya Fey was just another fool that could never hope to beat her on her own merits would be the end of these... unnecessary feelings. But they weren't. When she's brought in on the Hazakura temple case, she knows Phoenix is helping Edgeworth. She can just tell. He's not acting like he usually does in court. And she swears she sees him glance down at his pocket and give a subtle nod a time or two. This is her chance to take them both down in one fell swoop.
She doesn't. She doesn't necessarily lose either, but she doesn't win.
But she loses the opportunity to prosecute once Godot shows his face, so she's now focused on finding Maya Fey. So much so that she's even willing to let Phoenix Wright sit on her shoulder and boss her around the way Maya does, at least for a brief bit of investigating. She doesn't like Phoenix Wright. Not one bit. If that fool Maya Fey and her foolish little brother didn't seem to care so much about the little fool she'd just leave him on the ground to fend for himself. But she can't. Not right now. For now, she simply needs to see that Maya is okay with her own two eyes. Then she can be done with this nonsense.
I feel like at some point post-trilogy Maya and Franziska absolutely get together, but I don't know exactly when or how it happens.

And whipping him is hardly a fair response. I assume you are Mr Edgeworth and Ms von Karma, then?

"Frau Von KarmaaAAAAH-"
Nothing in this life clould have prepared him for this situation. The surprise- the fear that he felt! He had never felt an emotion so deep. Except for maybe that time his guitar caught on fire or he accused his brother of murder... It was definitely in the top 3.

Klavier could only tense up and hope for the best.

Exclamation mark! She was excited to come! Hopefully. Klavier thought it must have meant something, since he didn't take Franziska for someone who used exclamation marks at lot when typing. Or maybe it was his heart talking and not his brain.
[Text to Franziska]: A drink of your choice?
[Text to Franziska]: If you trust me to provide all the food again
[Text to Franziska]: If you wish to do something like play a game
[Text to Franziska]: You can bring it as well
[Text to Franziska]: But the only thing I actually need is a date
[Text to Franziska]: Pick a date and we have it all arranged
legalbrats:
If Klavier had been on a bed, he would have taken the nearest pillow to scream in it. But he was on the floor, so he chose to giggle happily instead. Hee-hee, she liked my baking. Hee-hee, she thought of me.
[Text to Franziska] Absolutely!
[Text to Franziska] I am amenable to this :)
The last emoticon took a lot of consideration. He had deleted it, replaced and put back in a couple of times before deciding it was good. Hopefully Franziska would think the same.
[Text to Franziska] Would you like it at my house again?
      Oh! Oh! A smiley face!
She had earned a smiley face!
Some people gave out emojis like candy on Halloween. Klavier sort of gave them out in real life, but on the phone, texting her, she hadn’t seen a one… Until now! Fascinating…
And! And! His house! Once more she’ll be going to his house, where she’d been welcomed to the kitchen, and the living room, and the stupid shows on the big TV. She knew his dog, even. Not well, but well enough? It would probably smell good in there. He was so showy, he’d most certainly light some expensive candle that would make the whole apartment smell like a Christmas wreath, as if the warm spices of the baked goods and wine wouldn’t be enough… Franziska catches herself wistfully spacing out…
[ text : Klavier Gavin ] Yes. I would like that!
Tumblr media
Was that an exclamation mark?! My god, girl, you are down bad, as the Americans say. But it’s too late to reconsider - she’s already slapped send. She scrunches her nose, but soldiers on. She’s come this far!
[ text : Klavier Gavin ] I would like that. Shall I bring anything?
