What if the entire reason why Sanguinius usually speaks in such a formal way is straight up because he's speaking Gothic and thus a second language from his native tongue. Depending on how his native baalite (or however it is called) is, it could mean that Gothic isn't the easiest language for him to speak so he ends up just coming off as super formal. Meanwhile in his native tongue, he sounds a lot less formal and might even seem crass or vulgar when speaking. Mind you, he can still be formal sounding in his native language, but I imagine it's a hell of a lot easier for him to speak in a more relaxed manner.

As much as Sanguinius probably does know less formal ways of speaking in Gothic, but he's not exactly good at speaking in an informal way of talking because he often needs the formal way far more often then the informal. And if he does need to speak informally, it's usually with his sons and thus it's just simpler to speak in his native tongue.

I imagine with his brothers, he may attempt to be somewhat less formal with them, such as Horus, but his accent tends to get in the way at times, or he forgets the word he wants to use entirely despite the fact he has an eidetic memory.

What's so fun about BruJay as a ship is Jason's sheer obsessive devotion to Bruce. Jason is possessive over Bruce, to the point he doesn't care about the deaths of others so long as he has Bruce's attention. A part of the UTRH arc this isn't talked about enough is that Bludhaven fucking explodes mid-way and Jason won't let Bruce see if Dick is alive.

A lot of discussion about UTRH paints Jason as this anger-driven cold, calculating machine up against Bruce when it's so clear that his love for Bruce is what drives him at his root, even if he won't acknowledge it. He says it himself, he would've done anything if it was Bruce who'd died instead of him and his anger is rooted in that possessive devotion not being reciprocated.

BruJay as a ship always to be, to some level, unrequited. Even if Bruce loves Jason back in that way, he'll never be that obsessed with Jason. Jason will always view Bruce's love for Dick or Tim to be a distraction, proof that Bruce isn't dedicated enough to him. Jason has the need to always have Bruce's attention, even when it could come at the cost of Bruce's other loved ones. Something something cannibalism as a metaphor for love in how Jason wants to consume Bruce's whole existence. He can't let Bruce leave him again, can't let Bruce love or grieve anyone else. Forcing Bruce to choose between Jason and the Joker isn't just about confronting Jason's killer, it's about confronting the other person who exists as this duality with Bruce and consumes so much of Bruce's life. That's the role Jason wants to fill, calling himself Red Hood and forcing Bruce to look at what he's become. But still loving Bruce and wanting more than anything for Bruce to reciprocate that love in the way that Jason understands. I just think it's good soup and rife with Dynamics that are underexplored with them.

Tommy knows it all should be in the past. In stolen kisses in bars they knew Gerrard and the team would never come too. In usually passionate and wild - almost never tender and sweet - sex. If Tommy didn’t know and was pretty acquainted with Evan’s quirks and little signs of his fatigue, he would never think the man just ended his 48 hour shift.

“It’s fine, baby.”

Tommy smiles and he hopes his inner turmoil of seeing an old friend is not shown on his face.

“Have you met my new captain yet?”

Evan adorably tits his head and Tommy wants his heart to be so fast only because of it and the taste of Evan’s lip balm on his cheek, but he swears he can feel the taste of liquor he and Sal were drinking last time they kissed. Right before Sal asked Jennifer out on their first date.

“I worked with Sal. Even more than Chim and Hen,” Tommy says and Evan for a second frowns and then hits his face.

“And they were no less inseparable as you and Eddie,” Chim says, with the loud sound of gum bubbles breaking.

Tommy doesn’t know when he and Sal got closer to them, but he would really happy if they never see that Tommy was there at all. 

“God, of course. In my defense it was so long ago I just haven’t even thought that all three of you were a team.”

“Yeah, I left the station almost a decade ago and it feels like it was in another life, so it’s fine, Buck.” 

Sal smiles at his boyfriend and Tommy wants to make as much room between them as possible. Maybe it will help him to to separate all these feelings of worry and anxiety and love and confusion from the sight of the man he had loved for years, but had never had the opportunity to own his love completely for himself, never feeling that Sal had given him his heart, and a man who he knows is step away from get into his own chest and rip out his heart with all the vessels and give it to Tommy if he just says the word. first of all...That post was NEVER about Zutara. Where did anyone get the idea I was trying to defend Zutara? It was about how I find the defenders annoying and WHY I find it badly written. Never was it about Zutara- where did anyone get that idea??? 😭It was more specifically on why I find Maiko defenders to be annoying personally. Also, the post wasn’t necessarily talking about why I don’t think Zuko and Mai’s personalities don’t go together but why I find it BADLY WRITTEN. Don’t you dare try to twist my words- 💀

What I’m saying is that some Maiko shippers say it like Mai is the ONLY one to make Zuko happy. Keyword: ONLY. I do acknowledge the scenes of Zuko smiling at Mai while they’re cuddling, but I’m just saying, that doesn’t mean he is his HAPPIEST or that his ONLY happy moments are with Mai. Iroh, the Gaang, etc all exist. “The irony of Zutara shippers acting like Zuko not bringing up Mai for two episodes, while he’s on a mission to save the word, means he does not love her.”

Once again: not about Zutara but okay!! Second: I’m not saying he has to bring her up constantly or some shit like that. I’m just saying it’d be nice if the creators added some kind of scene of either Zuko freeing Mai, or him at least worrying about her while she’s in the Boiling Rock. Why? To sell it to me more that they really care for each other. I’m not saying they don’t care for each other but I’m just saying, they could’ve done WAYY better selling it with good writing and scenes. That’s what I mean about Maiko, it doesn’t have enough scenes to be good at least to me. Similar to how in the fountain flashback we only see Mai’s pov, which was why the kiss in S3 ep 1 was so sudden and fell flat/unexpected for many people. Again: not saying they don’t care for each other! I’m saying they could’ve done way better selling it. Such as, having a tiny scene of Zuko worrying for Mai after the BR.
