I donât really have anything new to say about this.
I just want to acknowledge that the âuse of extremely lifelike duplicatesâ tally is at four instances now.
#which both sounds like too many and too few instances#and no matter whether I predict that they will or will not do this again#I will be proven wrong#Iâm almost at the end of my book of R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E. comics#and this is only four instances of duplicates throughout seventeen different comics. with two comics left.#so it seems highly improbable that there would be another usage of duplicates in the upcoming stories#but I know that if I *say* it wonât happen again then Iâm going to be proven wrong#theyâll do it again. because of course theyâll do it again.#trying to judge this situation by normal laws of probability will only result in me looking foolish#no matter which way I predict#I also didnât expect the starch-snake tactic to return but yet here we are#archie comics#archie andrews#jughead jones#the man from r.i.v.e.r.d.a.l.e.

on the topic of deliriously specific visions of deltarune chapter 3. This is one that is really inconsequential and I guess is more in the territory of like. those elaborate chapter 3 fanfictions where they just make up every character. But I don't think I've ever seen anyone else ever try the thing that I think would be cool, which is that a secret boss for chapter 3 could have a greyscale color scheme because that would not be out of place in the TV-themed chapter (especially for a secret boss, i'd say), but would also have visual overlap with the goner npcs from undertale...I just sort of feel like someone else would have thought of that but I've never seen anyone that has. I think it would be clever.
#granted i do not seek out elaborate chapter 3 fanfictions i just very occasionally like the music so i see their beasts sometimes.#(when its not like sonic forces midi flips) (<- Nobody on earth remembers the sonic forces midi flip except me)#mypost#dt#...honestly the only thing that prevents the way i talk about chapter 3 fan characters from being immensely hypocritical#is that i never figured out how to draw the extremely specific ''prediction'' i have#which i like to think is well thought out but definitely has a major plot hole in it.#i just think the idea of the secret boss having a similar role to alphys in hotland (aside from having a boss fight) would be cool.#it makes more sense than paralleling muffet who wasn't that important (even though i do think they should have the purple soul mode)#and it would be similar to how spamton neo was like the mettaton neo fight that never was.#My prediction is they make alphys neo real. (The fanmade alphys bossfight from 8 years ago was called this)#Except with like 10 other things going on that really dilutes the alphys situation . This is the only idea I have that matters.#Which is why it is banished to the very long tags of this post and not in its acutal contents. Whatever#ive posted about it before like 2 years ago. WHatever.

forty years later: do you think this one musical about a protagonist sorta yeehaw Musician who has to grab his guitar & run a winding path through the silent hill fog going "i'm pure of heart!" to try to save his wife imprisoned by [context: capitalism] wants what the other musical about that has

Board certified abyss 12 HATER
#âoh youre just bad at itâ i am bad at it because its bad game design. i rest my case#im not even bad at it. i could definitely clear and 36 star if i wanted to. however i should not have to take 40 shots at thr same content#trying to random luck my way into mashing the right set of buttons and miaculously not getting hit because the hp pools are too high to lose#a single percent of your dps bringing a healer or. for that matter. actually healing.#this is i think why Neuvillette has such a good rep. hes basically invincible at c1 which means you#dont have to retry the same chambers over and over because he keeps getting one-shot. because lets all look into our hearts at this moment#his damage is not that much higher than any other dps characterâs damage. he just also heals and fits into the current meta#people used to say the same shit theyre saying about neuvillette about nahida#and once natlan comes out the meta will change once again. hp builds will once again become unnecessary in abyss. bennet will make a#reemergence. overload meta will become real. there will be one character who is good to use in burgeon teams theyll be burgeon nilou. this#is my natlan prediction#part of it anyway#and then we will get shneznaya and there will be a character who does damage based on how high you can get their crit over 100% but they#wont be that meta theyll be like cursed with low modifiers. but nonetheless the meta will change again.#im in a love hate relationship with the genshin meta because it is in a love-hate relationship with itself#board certified my post#board certified metaposting

saw wish last night. it was okay but it would have been soooo much better if they kept this concept in. would have been so much more invested in star, and i miss romance in disney movies. a romance between a girl and a STAR would have literally been the cutest thing ever. seriously missed opportunity
#it's great they're including stories that don't center on romance but almost none of their major movies have it now#and like that's a core disney thing! romance and true love is beautiful#women are not disempowered by falling in love!! princesses can still be strong & have agency & save themselves while also having a prince#i also dig the other original concept of having the queen be evil too...disney evil power couple!#i did love the king's character. his plot line was kinda predictable but his voice actor was soooo good it kinda saved that#and asha's friend group was cute#my 4 year old liked it which is mostly what matters but overall like 5/10 ngl#the butt jokes were way overdone too. i know it's geared towards kids but cmon. there's a limit!

Ive been taking my sweet ass time with totk haven't even touched the main quest yet, gonna get full stamina and all the hearts before I actually play the story
#this is what i live abt open world games#no need to start the story until i actually want to#i think thats something genshin kinda lacks?#i mean the open world is absolutely fantastic in totk and genshin but with genshin some puzzles in the open world you cant do#UNLESS you finish a really long quest#and i mean the quests arent hard but i prefer ignoring story stuff ans being able to actually explore without NEEDING the quest in order to#do so#which totk and botw did really well bc all the mandatory mechanics are things you get in the very beginning#and then ur just free to do whatever without needing the main quests#well#axtually i guess since some quests are aboit fixing environmental issues it kinda counts#but those environmental issues dont fully stop you from exploring the way the exploration in genshin does#i love both games#i mean w somw games i lose interest pretty fast like in a few months#but w genshin its been. 2 years? and im still not bored enough of the game to quit#i dont play the game for very long tho. i do some stuff then i close it which i guess is why i havent experienced full burnout#i think games w more freedom are just straight up better at keeping my attention for long periods of time#games w set paths like pokemon and some other story driven games donr keep my enjoyment for as long#i mean i love pokemon but it does get predictable and boring after a while#im not attached to genshin enough to want to stick with it no matter what tho like trust me the minute i get too bored to play#im leaving it w/o a second thought lol

"Two and a half years ago, when I was asked to help write the most authoritative report on climate change in the United States, I hesitated...
In the end, I said yes, but reluctantly. Frankly, I was sick of admonishing people about how bad things could get. Scientists have raised the alarm over and over again, and still the temperature rises. Extreme events like heat waves, floods and droughts are becoming more severe and frequent, exactly as we predicted they would. We were proved right. It didnât seem to matter.
Our report, which was released on Tuesday, contains more dire warnings. There are plenty of new reasons for despair. Thanks to recent scientific advances, we can now link climate change to specific extreme weather disasters, and we have a better understanding of how the feedback loops in the climate system can make warming even worse. We can also now more confidently forecast catastrophic outcomes if global emissions continue on their current trajectory.
But to me, the most surprising new finding in the Fifth National Climate Assessment is this: There has been genuine progress, too.
Iâm used to mind-boggling numbers, and there are many of them in this report. Human beings have put about 1.6 trillion tons of carbon in the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution â more than the weight of every living thing on Earth combined. But as we wrote the report, I learned other, even more mind-boggling numbers. In the last decade, the cost of wind energy has declined by 70 percent and solar has declined 90 percent. Renewables now make up 80 percent of new electricity generation capacity. Our countryâs greenhouse gas emissions are falling, even as our G.D.P. and population grow.
In the report, we were tasked with projecting future climate change. We showed what the United States would look like if the world warms by 2 degrees Celsius. It wasnât a pretty picture: more heat waves, more uncomfortably hot nights, more downpours, more droughts. If greenhouse emissions continue to rise, we could reach that point in the next couple of decades. If they fall a little, maybe we can stave it off until the middle of the century. But our findings also offered a glimmer of hope: If emissions fall dramatically, as the report suggested they could, we may never reach 2 degrees Celsius at all.
For the first time in my career, I felt something strange: optimism.
And that simple realization was enough to convince me that releasing yet another climate report was worthwhile.
Something has changed in the United States, and not just the climate. State, local and tribal governments all around the country have begun to take action. Some politicians now actually campaign on climate change, instead of ignoring or lying about it. Congress passed federal climate legislation â something Iâd long regarded as impossible â in 2022 as we turned in the first draft.
[Note: She's talking about the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Act, which despite the names were the two biggest climate packages passed in US history. And their passage in mid 2022 was a big turning point: that's when, for the first time in decades, a lot of scientists started looking at the numbers - esp the ones that would come from the IRA's funding - and said "Wait, holy shit, we have an actual chance."]
And while the report stresses the urgency of limiting warming to prevent terrible risks, it has a new message, too: We can do this. We now know how to make the dramatic emissions cuts weâd need to limit warming, and itâs very possible to do this in a way thatâs sustainable, healthy and fair.
The conversation has moved on, and the role of scientists has changed. Weâre not just warning of danger anymore. Weâre showing the way to safety.
I was wrong about those previous reports: They did matter, after all. While climate scientists were warning the world of disaster, a small army of scientists, engineers, policymakers and others were getting to work. These first responders have helped move us toward our climate goals. Our warnings did their job.
To limit global warming, we need many more people to get on board... We need to reach those who havenât yet been moved by our warnings. Iâm not talking about the fossil fuel industry here; nor do I particularly care about winning over the small but noisy group of committed climate deniers. But I believe we can reach the many people whose eyes glaze over when they hear yet another dire warning or see another report like the one we just published.
The reason is that now, we have a better story to tell. The evidence is clear: Responding to climate change will not only create a better world for our children and grandchildren, but it will also make the world better for us right now.
Eliminating the sources of greenhouse gas emissions will make our air and water cleaner, our economy stronger and our quality of life better. It could save hundreds of thousands or even millions of lives across the country through air quality benefits alone. Using land more wisely can both limit climate change and protect biodiversity. Climate change most strongly affects communities that get a raw deal in our society: people with low incomes, people of color, children and the elderly. And climate action can be an opportunity to redress legacies of racism, neglect and injustice.
I could still tell you scary stories about a future ravaged by climate change, and theyâd be true, at least on the trajectory weâre currently on. But itâs also true that we have a once-in-human-history chance not only to prevent the worst effects but also to make the world better right now. It would be a shame to squander this opportunity. So I donât just want to talk about the problems anymore. I want to talk about the solutions. Consider this your last warning from me."

Other Misc. Rambling Thoughts on the topic:
(~ !!!!!!!!! if you're just reblogging this post for the Poll section, please reblog the original post without this addition* lol. ~)
(*not that there's anything super personal or weird about the addition, just that it's meant to be kind of casual Side Commentary, not really part of the Main Point Of The Poll, so it would feel kind of weird for it to be emphasized by being included in reblogs unless the reblogs were explicitly about the side commentary, etc..... if that makes sense.. ANYWAY!)
It's neat to read the written descriptions that people are mentioning in the tags, since it's almost like I can see or conceptualize the idea as well, but it's just.. I'm not SEEING it.
Like for example: I can imagine a vase, it's a muted mint green and slightly translucent, elaborate golden birds sprawled down the side in streaks of thin rough watery paint, the base material shimmers gently in the light, there's a small chip where it's cracked on the handle, etc, etc. .. But as I'm thinking about this I see literally nothing.
It seems like perhaps some people can visualize an object first, and THEN describe what they see. But I sort of work backwards. I am building the object in my mind, I can never see it, but it's a collection of concepts. Rather than visualizing all details as a whole at once, I am adding each detail one by one, building onto the IDEA of the thing.
The vase doesn't have a crack on the handle because I just automatically visualized a vase with a crack. It was more that I cognitively understand the concept of a vase, what they tend to be made out of, how they tend to look and feel, the properties they have. So based purely on that knowledge, I can imagine "a chip is something that a vase could have, it would look this way and behave this way" - more like... I'm constructing a bullet point Fact List about the object rather than seeing it.
So if you tell me to imagine an object, I can, in a way, imagine that object in great detail, but it's just.. I'm not SEEING those details, more just knowing it's qualities in a purely conceptual way. Sometimes in the tags when people are like "yeah I can see the skin of the apple, texture, little dots on the surface" it's like⌠I can imagine that too, I can know it's there, but just with no visual attached.
I guess rather than SEEING something and going ''ah. I know what this looks like because I have seen it''. I more just skip that visual step entirely and go ''I know what this looks like, I just randomly have a list of information about the concept in my mind.'' etc. Maybe similar to how sometimes in dreams, even though a house may look completely different and be in an entirely fake 'dreamlike' environment, you just somehow KNOW intuitively that it's meant to be your childhood home or something. Even when it looks nothing like it in reality. There's a built-in base knowledge of the properties or information of some things within a dreaming mind, etc.
--
This also makes me wonder about like.. how storytelling and myth is so important to cultures all across time. Or how this could tie also into concepts of religion.. etc. etc. If so many people really can kind of conjure these vivid images in their mind, then maybe that's part of why certain things are so meaningful to them? Like a "religious experience" being something you can actually really SEE/feel/lingering with you in your head, rather than just abstract words on a page, detached purely theoretical ideas, etc... hmmm
.
Plus also just for average emotional stuff too, even outside of broader cultural conceptual attachments..
Like, I don't think there's a direct 1 to 1 link (obviously not all people with mental illnesses that significantly reduce their emotional or expressive capacity also MUST have aphantasia or vice versa), but it's interesting as someone who DOES also have a much more lessened emotional range/pretty flat affect/etc. etc. to think like.. Maybe I WOULD be more emotional, in a way, if I could have these vivid experiences..?
Perhaps memories would hold deeper significance if they could really stay with me vividly. Or storytelling would evoke more of a deep emotional reaction to me if I could really picture and feel the things that are going on. If things were more TANGIBLE in my brain, rather than always merely conceptual highly abstracted ideas.
Kind of like, it's probably easier to get over the death of a pet or something, if after not seeing them for an hour you already don't remember what they looked like (beyond just a vague fact list of traits), and you have no vivid memories or mental reminders of them (beyond just factual information stores). COGNTIVIELY you can appreciate the idea of their absence, of course, you still miss them, but there's just no remaining visceral sensory ties. A very "out of sight, out of mind" sort of thing in terms of attachments, memories, emotions, etc. Maybe certain things are easier to "get over", when you're not having constant mental sensory reminders that occasionally rekindle your feelings about the event or etc.??
(like for example, maybe someone could remain angry about an argument longer if they could vividly replay it in their head over and over again. VS just like.. 'Yes I can factually recall the fact I had an argument, and I do have knowledge stored about what precisely was said, but any sort of sensory data such as sights/smells/feelings, etc. from the actual moment of the event are long gone and can never be conjured again in my mind." etc.)
Which again, I think lessened emotional permanence and image permanence in the mind are NOT inherently linked, can all be caused by different things for different people. And, since I can't visualize anything in my head, maybe I'm misunderstanding how it happens and the effect it may have on stuff like remembering things you miss or replaying arguments, etc. etc. But it's still a little interesting to think about, if they could influence each other to some degree.... :0c --
Lastly, It's also weird because I'm actually pretty good at estimating distance and spaces? I can quickly assemble furniture without an instruction manual, pretty easily have a concept of how much space a chair may take up in a room, how two mechanical parts might fit together - BUT, I am literally not actually visualizing anything. I cannot see 3D objects in my mind at ALL. It's like.. just based on the pure List Of Facts About Things Which I Have Observed.. I can intuitively go "oh this works like this/this is this size" just because.. I know it's that size. I don't have to see anything to know..?
But then on the other hand, I'm terrible at directions without a map (I guess because a 3d outdoor environment has WAY more complexity than like.. "Will this square fit into another square?"etc. lol ).
BUT, I also draw/sculpt/etc. entirely without references, and seem to do mostly okay at that..? Like.. I can't even remember the last time I actually used a reference or looked at anything whilst drawing. It's all muscle memory, and me just adjusting as I go until something "looks right" on paper, I never have a set image in my head (or external reference) before hand.. Hrmm....
AND.. I used to say that I had a photographic memory when I was younger, which I know NOW is not true (I always thought it was just an expression, not that people could literally see things in a photographic way). But what I was describing is, I do often associate information with imagery, just... without imagery....
Like "Oh, I know that I took my medicine earlier today because I have a distinct memory, a snapshot of a moment in time, of me rattling the pill bottle in my hands as I looked up at a stop sign while in the back seat of a car". When I say this, I can't ACTUALLY see/feel/hear a pill bottle, or vividly picture a stop sign, but it's more just a factual recall, of. Even though I don't see these things, I know they happened, the information of them happening (me hearing a sound and also looking at a stop sign at the same time) has been stored in my brain as a memory, a collection of linked facts. --
As for other senses, I cannot taste or feel anything in my head AT ALL.. wild that some people mention that. I mean, again, I can have a purely factual recall as if reading a textbook, knowing the information of 'X item typically has X texture, therefore I can imagine what it may be like to feel it' or 'X usually has this taste' etc. - but I can never actually experience those senses in any capacity in my mind alone. I would say audio is my strongest mental sense (maybe a 2.5 or 3 (if it were translated onto the above scale where 1 is most vivid and 5 is nothing)), then visual (4.5 at most, usually 5), and then taste and smell and such are just complete 5, absolutely nothing, I didn't even know people could experience taste or feeling just in their mind alone.. lol...
I know this is just a silly bad quality random screencap of a screencap that I found on facebook lol, BUT it's a succinct enough image to easily describe the concept in a quick/accessible way hopefully :
-
(and of course, feel free to elaborate in tags, etc.! (especially elaborating about other senses as well.. can you "hear" in your mind just as well as you can "see"? taste? etc.) It's an interesting topic to me, as someone who's like a 4.5 at MOST lol. I'm curious what option will be the most common :0c )
#repeat reblog#Hrmm.... this must be why you all like reading books so much lol⌠option 5.. so few of usâŚ#Also I wonder if this is why I'm a more detail oriented writer. Like if I was making a story I would first have to plot out information#about the location. draw a map of the room the chararcters are in. sketch the characters. their outfits. do a lot of plotting and planning#about how the world and the setting works and what plants might be there and so on and so forth. Because I'm working#more from a factual knowledge base of like 'bullet point list of things I know about this setting/object/person/etc'#rather than actually just being able to see it in my mind. So to really conceptualize a person/place/thing - I have to build it#from the ground up conceptually. Gathering and organizing all the information about it until I have a Full Mental Concept of it - and THEN#I can work with it from there. But maybe someone who just Pictures all that in their brain from the beginning can kind of skip that step.#Like for example I literally have NO idea what any of my characters look like until I draw them. I have to actively decide what they look#like and think about all of those details and create the List Of Factual Information (black hair. green eyes. this tall. etc.) from scratch#. where the friend I talked to on the phone recently said that they literally just like... picture the character. like they just SEE them#doing stuff and know from there. And of course i have an IDEA of what I may want a characters appearnce to be or properties that would suit#them based on their Concept and Personality. but I literally do not know. And even when writing or thinking about characters doing things#I cannot visualize them no matter how hard I try. It's all theoretical factual recall for me. Also my friend said that to THEM the saying#''the characters write themselves'' was interpreted to mean.. they can literally sit down & watch the characters do things and it's as#if they are just creating a story in their mind from thin air. it writes itself. Where for ME I have always interpreted it to mean ''I have#undertaken the process of analyzing and plotting every detail of this character SO deeply that I know them SO well down to even#how they would walk or hold a pencil. and thus because I have such an intimate understanding of every intricacy of their personality. It's#extremely easy to just Put Them Into A Situation and assume exactly how they'd react/ exactly what they'd say because based#on what has factually been determined about them and their personality/worldview/etc. it's just.. literally automatic. The same way that#if you knew a friend's preferences extremely well you could probably easily predict how they'd respond to a birthday gift'' etc.#hmm.. ANYWAY... Which my friend may be an extreme example. I feel like it'd be obvious even for writers without aphantasia to STILL sit#down and plot out details & intimately understand their characters/setting/etc. But the idea that for ANYONE it's like ''yeah I dont have t#think much about designing the layout of a room/place/etc. I just kind of SEE it in my mind and know automatically''.... wild... lol#It makes it seem like I'm always having to do like 500 tons of extra work that other people can just skip .. oughh#''well after writing them for a YEAR and fully conceptualizing their personality and going through 15 sketch drafts. i have FINALLY#decided on an appearance for my character'' ... ''erm.. i have been seeing my character since day 1.. what do you mean?'' ... lol#ANYWAY.. and thank you to those who have sent in asks abt your experiences.. very inchresting.. sorry not posting/responding yet since im#still a bit sick feeling and energy is very scattered/low social ability/etc... even this post i typed over the course of days lol..

me and my boyfriend were having a conversation earlier about how creepy my dad is and how he 1 used to spy on my mom w binoculars in his car across the street after their divorce (she got a restraining order luckily) but also 2 i remember him threatening to kill my mom and her current husband and i said something about how "i used to be scared i'd see him outside of my window watching me, even though he would probably just go after my mom i was worried he might try to kidnap me-"
and then it all clicked for me. the reason zero is the way he is is bc of my dad. the reason my comic is the way it is is bc of my fucking dad!
#like yeah he has elements of my brother and sister too but ultimately they suck bc of my dad. esp my sister.#anyways hes maybe one of the worst ppl in the world actually!#vent#learning more and more that if someone reminds me of my dad? i gotta fucking avoid the shit out of them. my sister does. my brother does.#and so does my abusive ex. i just remmebered getting that weird vague feeling when i was with them but brushed it off. I really fuckin#shouldn't've though goddamn. right down to the compulsive lying and extreme manipulation tactics. oh and the wanting to kill me shit#bc i dare make them ever view themselves in a critical light ig.#kinda like what happened with my mom and dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! today has been rough emotionally :))))))))))))))))))))#wish i could say its empty threats but hes an actual republican and has a shit ton of guns so yeah. doesnt matter how empty it is#everyones still gonna assume the worse when you're compiling guns and talking about killing someone you claimed to fucking love#and for him? it really was all about losing power over her. if he couldnt have her no one did. which was ironic bc he never even#fully appreciated her when he was with her and made fatphobic jokes about her. but suddenly she wants to leave and its an issue?#ig when the person you claim to find so unappealing rejects you too it bruises harder if you're a narcissist who relies on building#yourself up by putting people you claim to care about down.#and then he used me and my siblings as pawns in his game. in his 'war' against my mom.#this is why my ex has been so predictable this whole time... ive literally lived through it. it was LITERALLY my childhood#everyone but me believed him when he started making justifications for the way he physically abused her. but thats the#thing about ppl who are abusive in this way- slowly everyone starts to realize they're lying. and the only ones who stick around#are the ride or dies with no standards for themselves.

How to pull off descriptions
New authors always describe the scene and place every object on the stage before they press the play button of their novels. And I feel that it happens because we live in a world filled with visual media like comics and films, which heavily influence our prose.
In visual media, itâs really easy to set the sceneâyou just show where every object is, doesnât matter if theyâre a part of the action about to come or not. But prose is quite different from comics and films. You canât just set the scene and expect the reader to wait for you to start action of the novel. You just begin the scene with action, making sure your reader is glued to the page.
And now that begs the questionâif not at the beginning, where do you describe the scene? Am I saying you should not use descriptions and details at all? Hell naw! Iâm just saying the way youâre doing it is wrongâthereâs a smarter way to pull off descriptions. And Iâm here to teach that to you.
***
#01 - What are descriptions?
Letâs start with the basicsâwhat are descriptions? How do you define descriptions? Or details, for that matter? And what do the words include?
Descriptions refer to⌠descriptions. Itâs that part of your prose where youâre not describing somethingâthe appearance of an object, perhaps. Mostly, we mean scene-descriptions when we use the term, but descriptions are more than just scene-descriptions.
Descriptions include appearances of characters too. Letâs call that character-descriptions.
Both scene-descriptions and character-descriptions are forms of descriptions that we regularly use in our prose. We mostly use them at the beginning of the sceneâjust out of habit.
Authors, especially the newer ones, feel that they need to describe each and every nook and cranny of the place or character so they can be visualized clearly by their readers, right as the authors themselves visualized them. And they do that at the start of the scene because how can you visualize a scene when you donât know how the scene looks first.
And thatâs why your prose is filled with how the clouds look or what lights are on the room before you even start with the dialogues and action. But the first paragraph doesnât need to be a simple scene-descriptionâit makes your prose formulaic and predictable. And boring. Let me help you with this.
***
#02 - Get in your narratorâs head
The prose may have many MCs, but a piece of prose only has a single narrator. And these days, thatâs mostly one of the characters of your story. Who uses third-person omniscient narrator these days anyway? If thatâs you, change your habits.
Anyway, know your narrator. Flesh out their character. And then internalize themâtheir speech and stuff like that. Internalize your narrator to such an extent that you can write prose from their point-of-view.
Now, I donât mean to say that only your narrator should be at the center of the sceneâfar from it. What I mean is you should get into your narratorâs head.
You do not describe a scene from the eyes of the authorâyouâbut from the eyes of the narrator. You see from their eyes, and understand what theyâre noticing. And then you write that.
Start your scene with what the narrator is looking at.
For example,
The dark clouds had covered the sky that day. The whole classroom was in shades of grayâquite unusual for someone like Sara who was used to the sun. She felt the gloom the day had brought with itâthe gloom that no one else in her class knew of.
She never had happy times under the clouds like that. Rain made her sad. Rain made her yearn for something she couldnât put into words. What was it that she was living for? Money? Happiness?
As she stared at the sky through the window, she was lost in her own quiet little corner. Both money and happinessâand even everything elseâwere temporary. All of it would leave her one day, then come back, then leave, then come back, like the waves of an ocean far away from any human civilization in sight.
All of it would come and goâlike rain, itâd fall on her, like rain, itâd evaporate without proof.
And suddenly, drops of water began hitting the window.
You know it was a cloudy day, where it could rain anytime soon. You know that for other students, it didnât really matter, but Sara felt really depressed because of the weather that day. You know Sara was at the corner, dealing with her emotions alone.
Itâs far better than this,
The dark clouds covered the sky that day. It could rain anytime soon.
From her seat at the corner of the room, Sara stared at the sky that made everything gray that day. SheâŚ
The main reason it doesnât work is that you describe the scene in the first paragraph, but itâs devoid of any emotions. Of any flavor. Itâs like a factual weather report of the day. Thatâs what you donât want to doâwrite descriptions in a factual tone.
If you want to pull off the prior one, get to your narratorâs head. See from their eyes, think from their brain. Understand what theyâre experiencing, and then write that experience from their POV.
Sara didnât care what everyone was wearingâthey were all probably in their school uniforms, obviously, so I didnât describe that. Sara didnât focus on how big the classroom was, or how filled, or what everybody was doing. Sara was just looking at the clouds and the clouds alone, hearing everybody just living their normal days, so I mentioned just those things.
As the author, you need to understand that only you, the author are the know-it-all about the scene, not your narrator. And that youâre different from your narrator.
Write as a narrator, not as an author.
***
#03 - Filler Words
This brings me to filler words. Now, hearing my advice, you might start writing something like this,
Sarah noticed the dark clouds through the window. She saw that theyâd saturated the place gray.
Fillers words like âseeâ, ânoticeâ, âstareâ, âhearâ should be ignored. But many authors who begin writing from the POV of the characters start using these verbs to describe what the character is experiencing.
But remember, the character is not cognizant of the fact that theyâre seeing a dark cloud, just that itâs a dark cloud. You donât need these filler wordsâstraight up describe what the character is seeing, instead of describing that the character is seeing.
Just write,
There were dark clouds on the other end of the window, which saturated the place gray.
Sarah is still seeing the clouds, yeah. But weâre looking from her eyes, and her eyes ainât noticing that sheâs noticing the clouds.
Itâs kinda confusing, but itâs an important mistake to avoid. Filler words can really make your writing sound more amateurish than before and take away the experience of the reader, because the reader wants to see through the narratorâs eyes, not that the narrator is seeing.
***
#04 - Characters
Character-descriptions are a lot harder to pull off than scene-descriptions. Because itâs really confusing to know when to describe them, their clothing, their appearances, and what to tell and what not to.
For characters, you can give a full description of their looks. Keep it concise and clear, so that your readers can get a pretty good idea of the character with so few words that they donât notice youâve stopped action for a while.
Or can show your narrator scanning the character, and what they noticed about them.
Both these two tricks only work when a character is shown first time to the readers. After that, you donât really talk about their clothing or face anymore.
Until thereâs something out of the ordinary about your character.
What do I mean by that? See, youâve described the face and clothes of the character, and the next time they appear, the reader is gonna imagine the character in a similar set of clothes, with the same face and appearance that they had the first time. Therefore, any time other than the first, you donât go into detail about the character again. But, if something about your character is out of ordinaryâthere are bruises on their face, scars, or a change in the way they dressâdescribe it to the reader. Thatâs because your narrator may notice these little changes.
***
#05 - Clothing
Clothing is a special case. Some new authors describe the clothes of the characters when theyâre describing the character every time the reader sees them. So, I wanna help you with this.
Clothing can be a way to show something about your characterâa character with a well-ironed business suit is gonna be different from a character with tight jeans and baggy t-shirt. Therefore, only use clothing to tell something unique about the character.
Refrain from describing the clothing of characters that dress like most others. Like, in a school, itâs obvious that all characters are wearing school uniforms. Also, a normal teenage boy may wear t-shirts and denim jeans. If your character is this, no need to describe their clothingâanything the reader would be imagining is fine.
Refrain from describing the clothing of one-dimensional side-charactersâthereâs a high chance youâve not really created them well enough that they have clothing that differs from the expectations of the readers. We all know what waiters wear, or what a college guy who was just passing by in the scene would be wearing.
You may describe the clothing of the important character in the story, but only in the first appearance. After that, describe their clothes only if the clothes seem really, really different from the first time. And stop describing their clothes if youâve set your character well enough in the story that your readers know what to expect from them in normal circumstancesâthen, describe clothes only when theyâre really, really different from their usual forms of clothing.
***

it's funny before I started talking about my delusions, I always thought the risk in talking about them was people would think I'm weird or stupid. but I've learned the actual risk is that they'll think it's cool, will prefer you when you're in an easily-influenced state, and will randomly bring up topics related to your delusions to you because they see it as fun to talk about. đ
#and it's annoying because if they happen to catch me in that state#I will engage without thinking#because to me that's just my actual reality in that moment#so no matter how many times I ask them while sane ''hey don't talk to me about this''#they will just wait till I'm in that other state and take it as permission when I engage#and not that you're just making me worse#SO YEAH WE DON'T TALK ANYMORE đ#because there's no way to predict if it's going to be a normal conversation or not and I'm over it#disclaimer this is only something I hold close friends to#if you see me mental healthposting and ask me questions or w/e that's fine#but I've repeatedly asked people in my life not to bring up x to me and they continue to do it#they just wait till I'm in that state again#which is fucked#I know there are people who require you do not directly combat that delusion#but if someone directly tells you#''please don't encourage me when you see me like this''#then just do what they ask T_T

Oh yeah so they are! I was mostly thinking about exotic pet care guides, which (due to reptile YouTubers) I suspect may be the primary way people find out about snakes and other less-appreciated species. They do have a tendency to blur the lines between âcommon, not endangered, native to [local region]â and âuncommon, at risk from poaching, native to [far away region]â? At least, the guides Iâve seen usually only mention foods other than rodents if the snake might have difficulty recognizing frozen/thawed rodents as food.
The conflict between âreptile YouTube spreads awareness and appreciation for species people typically consider to be distastefulâ and âyeah but their information is often inaccurate and the husbandry is poor 90% of the time so is the appreciation worth itâ, I guess
âŚ.though now Iâm wondering if my ball python would like an egg as a treat, they eat a lot of birds in the wild and Iâd be surprised if they didnât eat the eggs too. guess Iâll do some research lol, chicken eggs *are* pretty big so they might not be safe, but maybe quailâŚ
This is a gentle reminder to those who keep poultry to PLEASE keep in mind wild snakes if you are using fake eggs in your chicken coop. Snakes are incapable of digesting the wooden/plastic/ceramic fake eggs that are commonly placed in chicken coops to train hens. Snakes (like this little ratsnake here) can and often do eat these fake eggs and suffer life-threatening obstruction as a result!
If you need to use fake eggs in your coop please strive to ensure that the enclosure is snake-proof (difficult) or superglue 3 or more eggs together so that snakes cannot consume them and become obstructed.
#snakes are really cool you guys#but also maybe double check the regions#and also animals in the wild invariably have behaviour a thousand times more varied than those in captivity#imo itâs the responsibility of any pet owner to provide an environment where the animal can do as many of those behaviours as possible#and also make sure the animal is being sourced in a way that doesnât hurt the wild population#bc like. I actually think many good things come out of the exotic pet trade?#having thousands of eyes on a species means weâre going to learn things that would never have been possible to discover otherwise#and also letâs be real here habitat loss and climate change hurts the wild populations a thousand times more than the pet trade#so live capturing is more the icing on the cake/another small stressor on top of all the ones theyâre already having a hard time with#rather than THE one danger to wild species#(live capture for the pet trade that is)#but still like. pets should be a two way street.#trade offer: âyou get [enjoyment of animal]: animal receives [safe environment with no predators and consistent access to food]#if the animal is gonna be stuck in a drawer and doesnât have opportunity to perform natural behaviours and not all of itâs daily needs met#then it isnât getting anything from the bargain and thatâs just like. unfair.#which is why I generally advocate for keeping species that (in the wild) are already frequently found around human habitation#(like my mourning geckos which have a really wide range and are frequently just straight-up found in houses)#or that you can be absolutely positive youâre able to keep in a situation thatâs a close enough facsimile to wild#that they can perform the vast majority of their natural behaviours#(which should also be a goal for the common species)#âŚ.and like. Iâm including cats/Guinea pigs/rabbits/dogs in this#bc they ALSO have a lot of care requirements that are often not met even though theyâre domesticated#âŚ.and for that matter humans too actually#humans in âthe wildâ are highly social tenacious semi-arboreal problem solvers that alter their landscapes heavily to suit their needs#the current trend of keeping them in 10x10x8 boxes and making them interact with hundreds of strangers every day#and not letting them manipulate their environment unless they âown itâ#is just straight-up inhumane! they should have everyday climbing opportunities and more predictable social structures and more enrichment#how do you know they wouldnât use it if you donât give them the OPPORTUNITY to use it#âŚ..anyway yeah#âŚâŚI may have opinions on this

mr reca fic where heâs suffering a creative slump due to the lack of good scripts (by his standards) from various screenwriters. he feels himself going positively insane with every script heâs given.
itâs too dull. itâs too predictable. this one has no creative flair whatsoever!! that one just doesnât spark enough imagination!!!
itâs troublesome, really. some think heâs really going through it, while others believe the scripts heâs been given wonât bring him enough money. but really, who cares about monetary value when it is he who cannot even begin to picture himself enjoying the process that comes with each script?
and so that is how he finds himself wandering around aimlessly. sometimes the outdoors is necessary for the mind, and who knows? perhaps he really will find something that will give him a spark. hmm, those trees are looking a little dull. the sky overhead is too cloudy. hm? did he just hear thunderâ
something collides into his chest, a choked âoof!â following soon after. he stumbles backwards a little, papers flying through the air around him. he blinks once, twice, at the sight of you on the ground, muttering something under your breath before a sharp gasp escapes you, hastily scrambling to gather the papers fluttering and strewn around.
one such paper falls into his hands. he glances over its contents, skimming through it as he goes to pass it over to you with an apology at the tip of his tongue, only to freeze.
this⌠this is genius! this is absolutely the pinnacle of writing!! while a little rough around the edges (as drafts usually tend to be), his once clouded mind is now clear, giving way to a blank canvas which slowly depicts the imagery your writing induces. idea after idea pours into his brain as he can visualise exactly what he wants, his body trembling and heart pounding as he insantly fixates on your panicked form still collecting all the fallen papers.
âyes⌠yes! this is what i was looking for! everything about this is pure artistry! the possibilities are endless, the sky is the limit!!â
this is possibly the happiest and freest he has felt in what seems like eons! seriously, compared to those other mind-numbing scripts this truly is the pinnacle of writing itself.
a laugh full of pure, unadulterated glee escapes him, careful not to crinkle the god-sent paper cradled in his palms. âyou! youâre a genius!â
âiâm a whaâŚ?â
he whirls in the direction of the source of the voice, further praises and a proposal for a collaboration on the tip of his tongue, only for his breath to catch in his throat.
you⌠youâre so radiant! even with that disheveled appearance and absolutely adorable confused expression youâre giving him, he never realised such beauty existed! not only does your writing fill him with endless creativity, but his pounding heart, parched throat and warming skin tells him youâre definitely the main character!
but wait! if you were to be the main character, then would that make him the main characterâs love interest? surely he wouldnât have had such a clichĂŠ meet-cute like bumping into each other if he wasnât the love interest! but what if there is a second love interest? no, no, he can oust themâŚ
you, on the other hand, believe youâre about to get whiplash instead of the man, baffled at how he instantly switched from a maniac to stark silence to muttering senselessly with a dreamy expression.
well, each to their own. you have more pressing matters, and thatâs to quickly return home and continue fantasising before you forget the idea! but first, you have to get the last piece of paper backâŚ
âum⌠sir? can i have my paper back, please?â
in an instant, he kneels in front of you. now that youâre at eye level, he certainly is very handsome. if you didnât know any better, you would have thought this was some movie or drama plot with him as the main lead! oh, but why is he holding your handsâ
âyes, i will spend the rest of my life with you.â
ââŚwhat?â
tldr; youâre just a silly writer who daydreams far too much for their own good, and somehow managed to bag top-tier director mr reca with the power of said daydreams. (his ever-growing obsession with you is concerning to say the least but, hey! what genius isnât at least a little insane?)
#sophie talks : concepts <3#HE IS JUST A SILLY I LOVE HIM SO MUCH COBGRATS FOR FINALLY BEING REAL AFTER SO LONG MR RECA MY LOVE#i wanna turn this into a long ficâŚ. delusional meets delusionalâŚ.. grrrâŚâŚ#when he sees u for the first time u have the sparkly shoujo filters and everything no i do not make the rules#mr reca x reader#honkai star rail x reader#hsr x reader#mr reca x you#honkai star rail x you#hsr x you

hook 'em horny | j.m. x f!reader
masterlist : coach!joel masterlist pairing: college football coach!joel miller x reader summary: [no outbreak] seeking petty revenge on your cheating quarterback ex-boyfriend leads you somewhere you shouldn't be â and then it lands you over the knee of his coach. warnings: (18+ mdni, don't make me say it again.) cheating done by a referenced oc, briefest mention of drugs, porn barely garnished with plot, age gap (22/52), smut, unprotected piv sex, creampie, vaginal fingering, potentially dubcon by way of power imbalance but consent is enthusiastic, daddy kink, sir kink, 'punishment' spanking, degradation, praise, brat tamer!joel, dom!joel, joel spits on her ass but otherwise no butt stuff, mild choking, body writing, so many pet names of so many varieties, aftercare, surprisingly fluffy [no use of y/n] word count: 6.4k a/n: this is a crazy idea to have considering joel can hardly handle ellie. i don't think he'd be able to handle ~118 college-aged boys. however, the idea of football coach! joel is hot to me (i mean, seriously, look at those sluts on the sidelines) so i made it happen. on a serious note, i am so sorry to the unnamed university this is based on. i toured you. i'm legacy. but... joel miller. let's make it clear this is for entertainment purposes only. this is a fictional work about fictional people that does not reflect the school itself, which is a fine institution whose head coaches historically do not fuck students in the locker rooms. shoutout to my dad who, unknowing what this information would be used for, explained to me how he snuck into this stadium 3x. don't do that, either.
You canât even remember the last time you made a good decision.
Your track record definitely isnât the cleanest: you chose to go to school in Texas, and then chose to stay there for four years. Choosing to go to that frat party in late junior year wasnât your brightest moment, either, evidenced by the resulting hangover from hell and, predictably, frat flu. All things considered, those choices pale in comparison to hooking up with their all-star quarterback, Lucas Scott.
Dirty-blonde, blue-eyed, muscled Lucas Scott. Heâs the sort of guy who looks like an eight when youâre looking at him after a few shots of tequila and a four when youâre sober. The sort of guy who, after over a year of dating, makes you split the bill halfway after ordering the more expensive entree. Crowned as the most efficient, precise, and instinctive quarterback the Longhorns have ever had. Apparently that instinct hadnât been enough to drive him away from dipping his wick in every sorority girlâs candle wax.Â
No matter how much post-orgasm Lucas panted into his ear that he loved you, you werenât stupid enough to trick yourself into believing it. Staying with him was the easier choice, not yet wanting to reduce yourself to locker room talk. Walking in on him sloppily fucking some redhead nursing major was the breaking point. When it became less about you and more about your dignity.
So, yeah, youâve never been one for making good decisions, and you certainly arenât about to start now.
You thought breaking into the stadium would be some sort of monumental task. Trespassing here was normally reserved for campus rooftops and after-hours exploration, but once youâd gotten this batshit crazy idea in your head, you knew it wasnât going to shake until you at least proved it couldnât be done.
The open garage at the back of the building doesnât help to deter you. Itâs like thereâs a welcome-mat outside saying, âCome on in and get what you deserve!â.
Who would you be to decline such a sincere invitation?
The garage is empty apart from some cushy golf carts, and the steel door behind them couldnât be more tempting. If itâs locked, you tell yourself, youâll go back to the dorm and forget about your incident of near-trespassing.Â
You take small steps to the door, testing the handle. It springs right open, and all thoughts of leaving dissipate from your mind.
Who leaves the garage open and forgets to lock the door? Probably people with just as little between their ears (and legs) as Lucas. You scoff in half-disbelief, half-luck as you close the door behind you.
The energy feels stagnant this late at night, no announcer on the loudspeaker or swarms of burnt orange hats and T-shirts standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Industrial lights flicker above, their hums loud enough to make you wonder if you have tinnitus. Concrete lines the hallways, interrupted by a few silver-painted pipes arranged in a labyrinth up against the walls. A few security cameras are pointed at you. Before going any further, you pause to raise the hood of your Longhorns sweatshirt.
Even if you should be, you arenât in much of a rush; you amble about, really taking in the sterile ambiance of the empty stadium. You turn a few corners, going in what feels like the right direction. You figure youâre getting closer when you spot what looks like it could be a security tower. Crouching behind a trash can, you wait it out, trying to peer through the untinted windows to figure out if thereâs anyone in there at all. When youâve determined itâs unmanned and let out a shallow exhale, you go back up to full posture and keep wandering around unsupervised.
You know youâre in the right place when you find your toes hovering over a red line painted on the oil-stained concrete: AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT.Â
Bingo.
Crossing that line without really thinking about it, you stick to your (so far) tried and true method of going wherever feels the most promising until youâre standing in front of the two black doors you were looking for. The doorâs handle is an obnoxiously large longhorn, and you quite literally have to hook âem to get inside.
Youâre starting to understand where the rest of the universityâs funding is going when you walk into the locker room. After dating Lucas for a year, you know the football team is full of itself, but the Longhorniness of it all is⌠excessive. Thereâs the silhouette of the logo glowing on the goddamn ceiling, and if the jerseys the players are wearing on their digital nameplates isnât enough of an indicator of who they play for, every backlit locker has a drawer with, you guessed it: a longhorn painted at the center. A brown vinyl couch wraps around the front of the room in direct view of a powered down videoboard that you can only assume replays highlight reels.
You roll your eyes. Again, your track record with decision-making isnât the best, because you chose a school who puts every penny towards sweaty frat boys with brain damage from the amount of concussions they get.
And then you see it: a sign tacked onto the middle aisle of lockers that reads CORE VALUES. From top to bottom, HONESTY, TREAT WOMEN WITH RESPECT, NO DRUGS, NO STEALING, and NO WEAPONS. You have to physically clamp your jaw shut to restrict your laughter at the second one.
It doesnât take you long to find what youâre looking for. Lucas Scott, #10.
His sweat-stained jersey hangs limply from the rack, and you eagerly tear it off, tossing it down onto the floor. Eager like a child ready to color outside the lines of a coloring book, you kneel down in front of it, pulling out the one thing you had prepared for tonight. A bold black Sharpie.
You pop the cap with your teeth, spitting it out somewhere on the floor as you start scribbling. Disguising your handwriting isnât intentional, but youâre writing so carelessly and on such a foreign material that it comes naturally. Your tongue sticks out of the corner of your mouth as you work. In a year and a half, youâd never felt such satisfaction about â and certainly not from  â Lucas.
TWO PUMP CHUMP along the side. FIVE INCHES FULL MAST on the other. CHEATER at the bottom. WHORE across the front.
A throat clears behind you. You drop the Sharpie, a blot of ink forming on the mesh. You startle backwards, scooting until your back hits that stupid longhorn drawer. Youâre expecting a janitor, maybe a security guard if youâre extra unlucky.Â
That isnât the worst of your options, apparently, because when you look up, itâs at Joel fucking Miller, head coach of the longhornâs football team.
Your lower lip starts trembling, and that moment is when you decide maybe you need to start making good decisions. Youâve heard enough about Joel from Lucas to know heâs a total hardass. He could drag you by the ear to the dean and have you kicked out at the tail end of your second to last semester in this hellhole.
He glares down at you with his head cocked, hazel eyes far darker than they ever seem on TV. His scruff stipples his hardened jawline, lips thinned out like the worry lines pressed onto his forehead. If you were interested in digging yourself any deeper, you might stall to think about how good he looks: the faint trail of chest hair vanishing down into the neckline of his longhorns polo shirt, his fitted khakis, broad leather belt slung around his waist, and the slight bulge of tummy above it. You swallow hard and kick yourself for it.
âWhat exactly,â Coach Miller drawls, voice syrupy and sticky. âdo ya think youâre doinâ?â
Your mouth moves, but no words come out. He doesnât seem very amused, his muscled arms crossing over his wide torso.
Joel shakes his head. âAinât a good look for you, hun, scrawlinâ that chicken scratch all over my QBâs jersey. Could get a real ugly charge for that.â
Heart crashing into your ribcage, you bite down on your lip. âI can pay the damages,â you blurt out.
He sizes you up all over again, eyes dragging up and down your body. They linger on your chest for a few extra seconds that youâre convinced that you just made up. âCan you, sugar? âCause to me, looks like youâre the type to be chasinâ tips at whatever joint hires you.â
You donât have the bandwidth to be as offended as you should be, especially because heâs right. You settle for glowering at him instead. A huff of laughter pinches out of him. âYou give everyone you vandalize that blue look? Or is that lilâ number jusâ because you found out Lucas really ainât that loyal?â With ease, Joel bulldozes over whatever thinning resolve you have remaining.Â
âWhatâs that sign over there say? âTreat women with respectâ?â You say. Joelâs backlit like all of those over budgeted lockers behind him. You squint your eyes. âYou know thatâs fucking bullshit. So what if I give him a taste of his own medicine when heâs been a minute man for every girl with a pulse on this campus?â You cap your Sharpie and clip it back onto your collar and get to your feet. So much for good decisions. âFuck right off with that.
âHey, hey. Down, hun.â Joel holds his hands out to you, and you notice just how heavily youâve been breathing, just how close you are to him. âNever said you were wrong. Kidâs a fuck up in all sorts âa ways. But I donât like how youâre mouthinâ off at me, Miss Priss. If I didnât know any better, Iâd say youâre in dire need of a spankinâ to set you right.â
Your breath cuts short and your cunt bottoms out without your permission. You donât need a mirror to know your eyes just went glassy, your lips parted as your mouth goes desert dry. As discreetly as you can manage, you squeeze your thighs together.
Joel doesnât miss it. You can tell from the moment his brows raise and his eyes sparkle, the corner of his mouth picking up a smidge. âOh, yeah? That do somethinâ for ya, hun? Nasty little girl.â Thereâs a dangerous, uneven grit to his voice that has arousal burning like a candle in your stomach, the wax of your arousal syrupy against your thighs already.Â
Your tongue darts out to wet your lips. Fuck.
âNo,â you breathe out stubbornly, but youâve already given yourself away, even to yourself. The insides of your thighs are molten, twitching with every throb of your clit between your legs. That flush of warmth from your pelvis is spreading, overheating.
Joel tuts. âYou really think that? You can whine all you want âbout wantinâ respect, but at the end âa the day, you just wanna be treated like some whore, huh?â And, yeah, he has you figured out, has you in the palm of his hand. Even though you have no idea what someone like him could do to someone like you, you want him to do it. You want to find out. âIâll tell ya what, sugar, you walk outta here right now and nobody but meâs gonna know you came pitchinâ a hissy fit in my locker room.â
You frown at that, a small arc of your pouty lips that has Joelâs eyes gleaming.
âOr,â he says. âYou can pull those wet fuckinâ panties down â donât gimme that look, I know they are â and I can give ya a real lesson in respect.â He shrugs, hands going to his waist as he looks you up and down.
He knows he has you the same way you know, but you arenât just going to give in that easily. You flare your nose and counter, âIf thereâs nothing keeping me here other than a firm hand, why should I stay?â
Heâs looking at you like he wants to take you apart. His fingers jump against his hips for the opportunity to break you down.Â
âSweetness,â Joel shakes his head as if itâs obvious. âif you let me, I could make you feel good. Iâm guessinâ you got some vibrator sittinâ in the back of your desk drawer to use when your roommateâs out ân about, but you donât wanna use that tonight, do ya? You want the real thing, hun, and Iâd give it to ya real nice once I teach ya to behave.â
There it is again: Coach Joel Miller has you all figured out. Every syllable he says is doomed to send another shiver up your spine, and damn it, fuck playing coy.
Youâre too busy tearing off your hoodie to think about how unsexily dressed you are, but the rushed nature of your actions punches a chuckle out of Joel. âEager thing.â Youâre halfway through kicking your shoes and leggings off when he saunters over to the couch, plopping down on the edge and patting his broad, khaki-covered thigh. Your mouth waters when you look back and see just how much the fabric strains against his leg. âWhenever youâre ready, hun.â
You waddle over to him, stripped down to the basics of your sports bra and everyday panties. Itâs the furthest thing from erotic, but the way heâs looking at you isnât. Itâs primal and ravenous, enough to have you forgetting all about how youâd even gotten there in the first place. He licks his lips as he trails his eyes all over you, darkening a couple of shades when he looks at your cleavage. âLucas is a fuckinâ idiot, baby.â
âKnew that already,â you mumble.
He pats his thigh again, bounces his leg. âCâmon, over my knee like the good girl I know you can be. Hurry up and Iâll only give ya five.â
You shuffle forward, relishing in the rubbing of your thighs that comes from it. Heâs sitting on the corner of the couch at the perfect angle for you to rest your head on the arm. It doesnât take any more convincing for you to put yourself over his lap, not that he needed to do much in the first place. You feel so much smaller than him. Your ass is up for him to do whatever heâd like to; itâs a tantalizing feeling you hadnât gotten out of any intimacy â if you could call it that â with Lucas.
âMmmmmm,â Joel groans as he runs a hand between your legs. He rubs at your slit through the soaked gusset of your panties. You canât stop the way your hips buck, or the pitiful shout that jumps off your lips when he pins you down by the small of your back, robbing you of any friction. Between one arousal-riddled breath and the next, Joel tugs your panties off and flings them to the side. You know how it feels, tacky and cold on your core and thighs, so you can only imagine how it must look. Joel gives you a pretty good idea when he reveres, âGoddamn, pretty cunt is throbbinâ for it.â
He pulls apart your folds and you think you hear him lick his lips above you before he lets them go. The schlick noise your dripping pussy makes is nothing less than pornographic. Joel gropes you carefully, kneads the skin of your ass like you have all the time in the world. Under his ministrations, itâs easy to melt into the couch, forgetting why youâre there in the first place until his palm cracks down on your ass cheek.
The stinging impact has a slurred hnnnngh leaving your lips, and a fresh gush of wetness between your legs to accompany it. You keep your head tucked into the sanctuary of your folded arms, eyes squeezed shut so tight you swear youâre seeing stars. Joelâs quick to rub the spanked patch of skin, his palm soothing his ache. âThatâs one, baby.â You nod into your arms. âThink you can take four more?â Another nod.
âI need to hear ya, hun. Câmon, head up fâme.â He taps the side of your cheek, and you prop your cheek up on your forearm. âThink you can take four more?â he repeats.
Your voice hitches, courtesy of the beating that echoes in your chest and between your legs. âY-yesâŚâÂ
When the second hit lands, you donât expect it. You flinch away from his hand when it comes down with a clap that leaves you squirming in his lap. âYes, what?â
âYes sir,â you whine out, back arching. Although a punishment, that spank has the same effect as the last: a live wire of arousal strung from your spine to your cunt.
âTakinâ it well,â he praises, squeezing your ass cheeks together. âSure didnât expect anyone to come crawlinâ in when I left that garage open, âspecially not some slut like you with an ass that needs a spankinâ six ways to Sunday.â Just as quick as he can build you up, he can take you down a notch, but you canât mind when it has you moaning all the same. âOh, she likes that,â Joel clicks.
He rubs your ass again, and youâre bracing yourself for that next strike, pulled stiff with an arousing, anticipatory sort of fear. Only when you convince yourself it isnât coming do you let all of that tension flood out of your body â and thatâs when Joel smacks his hand across your far-too-trustworthy ass.
You cry out, pouting over your shoulder at Joel, who has a proud smirk drawn all over his face. You donât even feel your hips rocking down, seeking whatever pleasure you can get until he reprimands, âRuttinâ against my fuckinâ leg, now, huh? Donât pretend you donât like this.â
With a particularly good grind of your hips, you feel his bulge pressing into your thigh. From a mere graze alone, you can tell itâs huge. A whimper tears out of you at the same time he groans above you. âYou got nothinâ to prove, ainât gonna change the fact youâre a slut who needs to get spanked ân stuffed to talk âer into behavinâ a bit.â
âCanât even follow your own rules,â you huff, apparently still interested in shooting yourself in the foot even when Coach Miller has you ass-up over his knee.Â
âDonât see how you careâŚâ Joel slides a hand down between your legs. He rubs at your clit, an intense pressure that has you wanting more and less all at the same time, before dragging a thick finger across your opening. Arousal squelches between your legs and your hips jump â a dead giveaway to just how turned on you are, whether you like it or not. âwhen it gets you this turned on,â he finishes. Then that same finger is prodding at your mouth, glistening with your wetness. You whimper before tasting yourself, sucking obediently on his finger until he pulls away with a pop.
You sulk, âDonât act like I canât feel you ripping a hole in your jeans, Millerââ
The fourth spank is the hardest by far. The skin of your ass feels bitten by Joelâs âfirm handâ. Itâs the kind of hit that makes your legs kick in his lap and your fingers clutch in the couchâs arm for purchase. You wail, âDaddy!â Pain disappears from your mind when you realize what exactly you just said, quickly replaced by the churning coolant of embarrassment. If you were paying attention to anything else other than the shame suddenly inhabiting your chest, you mightâve been able to feel the twitch of his cock in his pants.
âDaddy, huh?â Joel hums, rubbing your hurt ass with one hand while the other strokes your shoulder. You bury your face back in your arms as an apology takes shape in the back of your throat. âLucas your daddy, too?â
âNo!â You squeak, adjusting in his lap. The hood of your clit catches on the rough material of Joelâs pants. Unable to stop yourself, you hump his knee again, shallow rolls of your hips. You can still feel his hardness against you. Needily, you tip your head up, panting as foggy pleasure hangs over your head.Â
âStop makinâ a mess of daddyâs dress pants, baby, unless you wanna be on your knees, lickinâ it up.â You keen, and he chuckles knowingly. âShoulda known, little whore like you gets off on that.âÂ
Joel gives you a longer reprieve between the fourth and fifth spank. Instead, he strokes your ass and asks, âOne more gonna be enough to set you straight, sweetheart?â
âY..yes daddy,â you whimper. He hums in approval.
You shift back and forth, waiting for it to come â and when it does, itâs softer. Itâs by no means a love pat, but it pales in comparison to his previous work. You still sniffle, squeezing your thighs together as he coos, âI know, I know. Poor baby, actinâ all high ân mighty. Canât be on her high horse when sheâs over Daddyâs knee.â Gentle, he pats your ass and guides you on all fours at the edge of the couch. He hums in approval. âSee? Not throwinâ a hissy fit anymore. Sheâs all nice ân obedient when you get âer to act right.â
Joel spreads your pussy with his thumbs, and you hear the vulgar noise of him collecting his saliva before you feel his spit landing on your clenching hole. Youâve never felt so empty, not when your bottom drawer vibrator is buzzing against your core, definitely not when Lucas fucks you in the same old missionary. Whimpering for him, you arch your back to try to rub against his crotch.
âQuit your whininâ,â he snips, his thumb finding your clit in one swipe. Joelâs touch is firm, but not too firm, just enough to make your hips push down with a need only heâs ever made you feel.Â
Without warning, his middle finger slides inside of you, thick and calloused and so, so right. âFuckinâ... tight.â Another slides in as he starts scissoring you open, apparently satisfied enough when he crooks his fingers deep in your cunt. Instantly, he catches that spongy spot that you can never reach on your own. You nearly crumple with the sensation, limbs going weak and buckling. âThat the spot?â he asks, but he already knows.
âMhm,â you moan, chin instinctively tucking against your chest as if you can get away from the pleasure heâs giving you, as if youâd ever want to.
Then â he stops.
His fingers sit heavy inside of you, so close to where you need them to go. âWhat the fuck, Joel?âÂ
"Baby, sâthat how you get what you want?â He rubs your thigh with his free hand and gives it a quick swat. âHelp daddy out, tight girl. I'm not just gonna let you get away with beinâ a spoiled brat. Work yourself on my fingers."
Youâre putty in the palm of his hand â malleable, docile for him to treat or mistreat you however gets him hard. You whine, punching your hips back nonetheless. Grinding down, down, down, your cunt unresisting when he gives you another finger. Itâs crude, the way you moan for him.
Even though heâs hardly doing anything, just the hand youâre getting yourself off on, that all-consuming strain in your body only gets stronger. âDaddy â close, pleaseâŚâ
âAttagirl, atta-fuckinâ-girl, give it to me.â He rewards you with a press of his fingers against that golden spot inside of you. Your orgasm splinters through you, an ecstasy-charged mist fanning over your body. Your release runs down Joelâs hand and your thighs with every clench of your cunt, like youâve been skinned and set ablaze by your own desire. You fall forward on the couch, no longer able to hold yourself up, arms a tangled mess as you gasp into the cushion. âYou come so pretty, baby. Messy pussy, too. Soaked me up to my goddamn elbow.â
Youâre still reeling from the best orgasm youâve had in months, maybe ever, when you hear obscene slurping noises from behind you. You cast a look at him, your arousal returning with a vigor at the sight of Joel sucking his fingers clean. He groans at the taste, and you swear you see his cock jump in his khakis. Stomach warped with desire, youâre about to plummet off of the very dangerous edge of doing just about anything for him right now.
âPlease fuck me, daddy,â you plead, and in any other position, with any other person, it might be mortifying, something worth clutching your pearls over. But this is Coach Joel Miller, the last person you ever expected to be fucking, giving you the best fuck you never expected.
âThereâs those manners,â Joel praises, leaning over you to press a brief kiss to your shoulder blade. You can smell your release on his lips, a sweet smell thatâs so distinctly you. He eases off of you, presumably to take off his pants. Thereâs the shuffling of fabric, and when he returns to your side, youâre disappointed to find he hasnât even unbuckled his belt.
You pout at him again, still desperate to get your way. Eye-level with his bulge, youâre salivating over it. You had made a mess of his dress pants, a wet spot formed just above his knee, taunting you. You lick your lips.Â
âThink itâs only fair,â he says, looming over you. Heâs holding the Sharpie youâd brought along with you. Your brows furrow as you look up at him through your lashes. âIf I give ya the same treatment you gave his jersey.â His gaze is cocky as he pops the cap with his thumb, giving the marker a twirl.
Oh.
It shouldnât turn you on as much as it does. Nothing about this should turn you on as much as it does, yet here you are, in a puddle of your own sweat and cum, itching for the next thing he gives you. And if itâs marking up your body before he fucks your brains out, so be it.
He nudges his head, gesturing for you to get down on your stomach. You lift your knees up and flatten yourself out on the cushions. The vinyl sticks and pulls from your skin as you get where he wants you. A soft, surprised noise leaves you when he straddles your thighs, his clothed cock nudging at your seam.
âHoly fuck,â you breathe out, because itâs the only phrase you can think of that even holds a candle to what all of this has become.Â
A laugh fans out from under his breath as he starts at your freshly spanked, raw ass. The Sharpie is cold and foreign, tugging at your skin as he inks you up. âGotta make sure you match before I dick you down, donât I? What is it you wrote on his jersey? âWhoreâ? Between the two âa ya, I woulda put my money on you for that one.â
If that wasnât enough indication, you figure out what heâs doing by the time he gets to the right cheek, what feels like an âRâ taking shape across your ass. He finishes the âEâ and sets down the Sharpie for a moment, his meaty palms spreading your ass. It still thrums with the afterglow of his spanking. You donât think you can throb any more than you already are, but then he spits on you for the second time that night, this time landing it on your puckered asshole. A gasp flutters from your lips as you grind down into the couch, his spit dripping down your folds.
âSee? Real whorish, fuckinâ my couch.â He taps your ass for good measure. âAsshole makes a perfect fuckinâ âOâ, baby. Looks a whole lot better than that chicken scratch shit you put on his jersey.â You think maybe, just maybe, heâll dismount you and pull his cock out, but instead he keeps writing, scribbling on your back and upper thighs. Every pull of your skin under the bleeding ink has you aching for him.
When heâs content with his work, he lifts off of you, hands fumbling to undo his belt. It snaps apart, dangling open around his waist as his hands open up his khakis. âYou let Lucas fuck that sweet lilâ cunt raw?â he asks.
âNo, I donât,â you admit, unable to tear your eyes away from his cock as he pulls it out, and fuck you. Your eyes donât even feel big enough to take all of him in, and you have no idea how youâre going to fit him between your legs. You almost go cross-eyed at the sight of it, his head leaking precum.
âThought so. You gonna let me fuck it raw?â
âYes, daddy,â you breathe out, drool pooling in your mouth at the thought of having him inside of you, having him inside of you bare. Yet another thing you never gave to Lucas in a year of disappointing sex, but are eagerly giving up to Joel.Â
âGotta be a real nasty slut,â Joel says, returning to his place atop your thighs, his thick ones framing yours. Your breath hitches when you feel the weight of his cock gliding through your ass cheeks and down to your cunt. âto let your ex-boyfriendâs coach bareback ya in the locker room.â A heady gasp tears from you when the head of his cock bumps your clit. He teases you â his cock, slippery with a combination of your arousal, skating from your clit to your spasming opening, not quite nudging in.
âDaddy, please â I need it⌠need you to fuck me, fuck meââ
He doesnât make you wait any longer.
When he pushes in, it knocks the air out of your lungs. The only proof that youâre still breathing is when you let out a pitchy, desperate moan. Joel grunts, teeth gritted as he flattens himself down against your spine so he can roll his hips into yours. The pain of his size becomes an afterthought just as quickly as the pain of your spanking, dwarfed by the pleasure he gives you just as easily.Â
âFuuuuck,â Joel groans, nuzzling into the crook of your neck and shoulder. Inch at a time, he works you open, grinding his hips into your opening. âCould you be any goddamn tighter?â He bites at your neck from behind with every rock of his hips into yours until he bottoms out.
âBig,â is all you manage to squeak out as he hauls you back on his cock, already prodding your g-spot with his head. Your eyes roll back as you clench around him.Â
His fingers go up to run circles around your shoulder, soothing you, grounding you when his cock has you anything but. âMmm, I know, I know. You can take it. All whores can.â With that, Joel starts fucking you, really fucking you, a punishing, relentless pace where he pulls out entirely before filling you to the brim. Each snap of his hips into yours fills the locker room with shameless sounds, the mere background to your depraved moans.
âNever had your pussy stretched by a man double your age before, huh?â
âNâno! Never⌠never had my pussy stretched muâŚmuch at allââ
Joel slams into you, laughs at the strained noise that you make. âYeah? Those dumbfucks on my team not doinâ it for ya, baby?â You donât answer, donât think heâs expecting one until his hand wraps around your front, forearm pressed firm against your tits. His thick hand wraps lightly around your neck, jostling you. Itâs not hard enough to blur your vision, but just hard enough to remind you of the power he has over you. The power you allow him to have. Itâs invigorating. Everything about him is.Â
Moans spurt out of you as you fumble to answer, âNo daâ daddy! You â ah! â do it for mâme!âÂ
âAnd what do you say for that? For goinâ outta my way to show you what a real fuck is?â
âThank you, Daddy!â you cry out. Youâre spilling down his thighs, the wet suction of your pussy around his cock making noises more vulgar than youâve ever heard in porn.
His hand squeezes again at your neck, and you feel floaty, a bubble just waiting to pop. Pleasure dances in every one of your veins, every nerve ending burning like a match that he keeps striking ablaze.
âThere you go, desperate slut just needs a freshly spanked ass, a good dickinâ down, and a hand âround her throat to behave.â Joelâs pace stays just as harsh, crushing your g-spot with his cock. âShould keep you back here for when we lose, tie you to the goddamn desk. Let my staff take turns with you, see how much crybaby you have left in ya when a dozen menâs loads are drippinâ outta your reamed fuckinâ cunt. Bet you like it when men use you.â The whine that almost gags you on its way out is enough to confirm it.
If he keeps talking to you and the wind blows the right way on your clit, you know youâll be coming. Youâre wringing out his cock with every flutter of your pulsing pussy. The beginning embers of your orgasm turn into a wildfire when he wedges his free hand down between your legs, rubbing messy circles into your sloppy clit. âFuck, please, please, please,â you sob out, too riddled with pleasure to care about how pathetic you sound or look as you hump his hand while he pounds you.
âCan feel you squeezinâ me, baby.â Joel rasps, nipping at your ear. The hand around your throat falls fully to your chest, pressing you solid against him so he can fuck deeper, deeper, deeper. Itâs enough to make you scream, hands clawing and scratching down his muscular grip on you. âCâmon, hun, give it to me, come on my cock, fuck.â
With another thrust, he has you pushed right down onto his fingers, rubbing and flicking you every which way. Itâs all you need to come undone, your second orgasm of the night unlatching through you like something forked and angry, battering your sore limbs until thereâs nothing left of it or you. Youâre a mess, spit oozing down your chin as you slur âthank you daddyâ like a broken record, thighs clamping around nothing.
Joel groans as you clench around his cock and continues his relentless pace, hips slapping against yours. The hand heâd been using to rub your clit migrates to your tits, grazing and then thumbing and then tugging lightly your nipples. âThere it is, told ya you could be a good girl. Lettinâ your daddy use this cunt to get off, lettinâ me use you. Iâm fuckinâ close, baby, where do you want me?â
And you want it even if you shouldnât, want his cum deep inside of you, want it to leak out into your panties as you walk back to your dorm. Youâre still no good at making decisions, too fucked out to tell right from left when you beg, âIâinside, fuck, come inside me, daddy, please.â
Joel practically growls at that, thrusts losing their steadiness as his hips jump and he hurtles towards his release. âYeah, youâre a goddamn whore, begginâ for this cum. And youâre gonna fuckinâ take it, yeah⌠fuckinâ take it.â He slams all the way into you for the last time before shooting his cum into your cunt, swearing and moaning. Breathing like heâs run a mile, he goes slack on top of you, pets the back of your head while he comes down from the exhilaration of his high.
With a gentle kiss to your shoulder, he rises, and the fantasy is over. His cock slips from your pussy, and you feel hollow with the loss. This is where he tucks himself back into his pants, runs a hand back through his hair, tells you to never show your face in his stadium again, and shoves you out the door.
And he does: tucks his softening cock into his boxers, zips up his khakis, does his belt, tames his post-sex head of hair. You wince even if you expected it, leaning down over the edge of the couch to grab your hoodie, already moving to tug it over your head.
âWhat do you think youâre doinâ?â Joel asks, and his tone sounds much more different than the first time heâd asked you. He sounds offended. You blink confusedly, dazedly at him with your arms halfway through the armholes. âLet me clean you up, hun.â Joel side-steps the pile of your leggings and shoes, adjusting the hoodie on your arms and pulling it down your torso. âI know Lucas ainât done you right, but you deserve to be taken care of, pretty girl.â Your heart pinches in a way that it shouldnât, not for a hookup with your ex-boyfriendâs coach.
You shift, and he canât help but look back between your legs where his cum escapes your hole. He manages to pry his eyes away, but not without licking his lips first. âIâll be right back, baby. Promise.â
When heâs back, itâs with a damp rag. He crouches down in front of you, taking it to the apex of your thighs and wiping away the combination of your releases, careful not to nudge your sensitive clit. He kisses your thigh gently before pulling back, folding the towel on the arm of the couch youâd been crying into just a few minutes ago.
Joel shimmies your ruined panties up your thighs, followed by your leggings. You let him, breath cut like a snipped wire from the sheer intimacy of it all, intimacy youâd lacked with Lucas even after a year of trying. Youâd stayed with him for comfortability at your own expense. How stupid could you have been?
Joel pats your knee, eyes soft and weirdly sincere as he looks at you. âIâm sorry about Lucas, honey, but I meant it when I said you deserve to be taken care of.â He rubs the back of his neck before holding something out to you. A business card, his work number plastered in bold sans-serif font across the bottom. âI know this is in reverse ân all, but Iâd really like to take you out and treat you right, if youâll let me.â
Saying yes is your first good decision in a while.

MASTERLIST
"Will you come to my game this Saturday?"
Sukuna smirks that charming smirk at you again, and his voice is so velvety that it sounds as if he is asking you to come to his bedroom instead of coming to one of his ice hockey games.
You have no idea why you seem to keep running into him lately. Maybe you never were aware of how many times your paths crossed. Or maybe fate decided to play some funny little game with you and the resident hockey star, and now you keep meeting over and over again.
You shrug helplessly and smile at him,
"I don't know. I've never been to a game. I don't even know the rules."
"That doesn't matter. You'll understand it once you watch a game. And if not, you can always ask me to teach you. So, will you come and watch me play?"
Sukuna looks expectantly at you with those pretty eyes. They are a shade of brown you have never seen on anyone else before, that rich maroon color that reminds you of red wine and autumn. Those eyes and that damn boyish grin make it hard for you to say no to Sukuna.
You laugh to cover up how nervous he makes you when he is standing so close to you. Attack is the best form of defence, so you cross your arms in front of your chest, look up at Sukuna, and ask with a raised eyebrow,
"You really want me to watch you play, huh?"
Any other guy would probably get flustered and backpedal or act indifferent. But not Sukuna. His smirk grows even wider, and he nods confidently,
"Yes. Can you even say you went to college if you never saw a hockey game?"
And then he adds with a wink,
"If you come, I will score a goal just for you."
He flashes you another cocky smirk and doesn't wait for your answer but just walks away toward the gym. You stare after him, shaking your head. He is impossible! That confidence is insane! Almost infuriating.
Maybe you should watch Sukuna's game just to see him not deliver what he promised. Sure, he is the resident starboy, but how good can he be? It's not like he is a professional hockey player. Low-key, you want to see Sukuna fuck up just so you can confirm to yourself that he is just another of those arrogant guys who are all talk and no action.
That Saturday, you watch the game. Your first hockey game since you started college. The first game of the Tigers you see. The first time you see Sukuna play.
And you must admit that the stupid title they gave him is accurate.
Sukuna really is The King of the Ice. He is the King of this whole arena!
His playstyle is fast and brutal, which doesn't come as a surprise. But even as a hockey noob, you can tell that Sukuna's mind plays just as much a part as his strength and is just as dangerous as his physical attacks. Strong, ambitious, and intelligent. It's a deadly combination that makes Sukuna unstoppable.
He skates across the ice at breakneck speed, elbowing his way through his opponents and making the rival goalie yell in fear at his teammates in a desperate attempt for them to stop the devil that is speeding towards him. But nothing the other team does seems to work against Sukuna. He is always a step ahead, sidestepping them before they can reach him as if he can predict their moves. You recall him telling you that he does all the analytics and works out the tactics, and you can see now that he didn't just brag but truly seems to know what he is doing.
No wonder the whole team is built around Sukuna. He is the most important player of the Red Tigers. The center of the first line, which to your amusement, is called The Curses because they make their opponents curse their names for being so damn strong. And Sukuna is the King of Curses, which seems a very fitting title. His brother Yuuji is on his right, and Todo is on his left, and both of them are ready to beat up everyone who dares touch their star player.
That's something that seems to happen pretty often. Sukuna keeps getting into fights, but many of them aren't initiated by the rival team. Even without knowing how ice hockey works, you can see that Sukuna provokes fights. You can see his lips move behind the face cage of his helmet while smirking devilishly at a player of the rival team, taunting him until the other guy snaps and drops his hockey stick and pushes Sukuna angrily.
At first, you flinch when you see the fight that erupts from that scene. Yuuji yells something and yanks that guy off a still-smirking Sukuna, dragging him away while Todo brutally bodychecks another rival player who comes over to join the rumble.
But both Yuuji and Todo stop immediately when Sukuna casually skates over and says something to them.
You watch incredulously as Sukuna pulls his gloves and helmet off, revealing his usually slicked-back pink hair, ruffled and out of place. He cocks his head and jerks his chin challengingly at the guy who pushed him, saying something to him, and you frown in confusion as the other guy takes off his helmet and gloves too.
What happens afterward is more of a boxing match than ice hockey. The whole arena is yelling and cheering Sukuna on, singing the team's song anytime their King lands a punch on the other player. Sukuna is a dirty fighter. You can see that. He uses any means he has to win. But he is also smart enough to only do as much as he can get away with without the referee intervening. Though it is a riddle to you, why a fight like that is even allowed in the first place.
You look at Nobara, who is sitting next to you.
"Why are they having a boxing match? Why does the referee not give them a penalty?"
Nobara shrugs,
"I don't know! That's just how hockey works, I guess!"
Right at that moment, Sukuna's fist connects with his opponent's cheek, and the other guy tumbles onto the ice. Sukuna joins him immediately, pressing him down for a moment as if to show his dominance before he lets go of him, pats his cheek tauntingly, and gets up again, smirking broadly.
You only realize now that you held your breath the whole time during the fight, letting it out now and laughing as adrenaline flows through your veins.
You didn't expect to enjoy this game so much, but it's definitely an experience you wouldn't want to miss!
The crowd is cheering loudly, celebrating their King's victory in this weird, inofficial fight that somehow is part of the actual game.
Sukuna skates back to his position, his helmet under one arm and one glove between his teeth, while he puts the other back on. He casually glides over the ice while smirking around the glove in his mouth like a beautiful devil. His eyes wander over the stands, soaking in the admiring gazes and the loud cheers coming from his fans.
And suddenly, Sukuna's gaze brushes over you.
You draw in a sharp breath at the same time as Sukuna digs the metal blades of his ice skates into the ice, coming to a sudden stop. He turns his head to scan the crowd again, and your heart jumps to your throat.
What is he doing? Is he looking for me?
Your heart is hammering in your chest when his gaze finds you again in the crowd, and his grin grows bigger, causing the glove to drop from the hold his teeth had on it, but he catches it casually with his left hand.
For a seemingly endless moment, you stare back at Sukuna, involuntarily feeling your lips lift in a matching broad grin. Your pulse flutters nervously. And then Sukuna winks at you.
Yuuji skates up to his brother and claps him on the back, and Sukuna averts his gaze from you and says something to his brother, pointing at another player, and they both skate over to him. You still look at the spot where Sukuna stood a moment ago, feeling a bit dizzy.
Nobara's voice pulls you out of your daze,
"Did he just wink at you?"
And you shrug helplessly and chuckle to hide how flustered Sukuna's wink made you,
"I don't know. Maybe he was looking at someone else."
But you know he wasn't.
The players on the ice get into position again, and the game continues. But Sukuna's line leaves the ice to sit on the bench while the other players get their turn. You hate to admit it, but you catch your gaze drifting away from the actual game and over to the bench, where Sukuna is sitting, discussing something with Yuuji and Todo.
You watch Sukuna run a hand through his ruffled pink hair, slicking it back again while he takes a sip from his water bottle, which makes his Adam's apple bop in a very enticing way.
Occasionally, Sukuna yells something at his teammates who skate past him. There's an angry fire burning in his eyes. You can see how invested he is in the game. How he watches every move meticulously, probably so he can use it later when he thinks of tactics for the next game. You can see how passionate Sukuna is about ice hockey, and if you are honest, it fills you with respect for him.
Sukuna is back on the ice a while later, just as graceful as before with smooth, fast moves and brutal bodychecks, clearing a path through the rival team's defense, skating so impossibly fast that no one can stop him.
Your fingernails dig painfully into your palms as you watch in complete fascination how Sukuna hits the puck so hard that it almost tears the net when he scores the next goal. The whole arena screams, and you are one of them. So caught up in the thrill of the highspeed game that you jump up from your seat.
On the ice, Sukuna gets buried under a pile of his teammates as they celebrate his insane goal, but once he emerges again with a fist lifted in victory into the air, his gaze instantly lands on you again. And to your shock, Sukuna is smiling. A dazzling, beautiful smile that lights up his whole face. He looks happy and proud and so damn beautiful.
You remember what he said when he asked you to come see his game. If you come to my game, I will score a goal just for you.
Well, he delivered what he promised. And what a goal it was!
Somehow, it makes you giggle like a schoolgirl, and you feel your face growing hot, even as you grin at Sukuna like an idiot. He seems to have only eyes for you, locked in this intense gaze with you while he still smiles that smile that makes your pulse flutter excitedly.
The eye contact becomes too intense for you, and you avert your gaze, too shy suddenly to keep looking at Sukuna.
The game continues, and you lean back in your seat, sipping on your water bottle to calm yourself down.
You wonder why no one ever cared to inform you how exciting ice hockey is! The Tigers are really good. Sukuna is good. No, not just good. He is fucking amazing!
It's fun to watch him play. Watching him skate across the ice like some super-human. Watching him bodycheck his opponents with ease. Watching him score goals with so much speed and precision that it leaves your mouth hanging open as you stare at him completely in awe.
The game is over much faster than you expected. Time flew by any time Sukuna was on the ice. You still have no clue about ice hockey, but you know that you had a damn good time!
On the ice, you see the Tigers high-fiving each other and giving each other back claps, congratulating each other on the win. You watch Sukuna pull off his helmet and laugh at something his coach says to him.
The team takes a victory lap around the rink, waving at the crowd in the stands. But your gaze only follows one specific player with pink hair and face tattoos.
Sukuna is chatting with his brother, reaching out to ruffle Yuuji's hair while they casually skate over the ice. His left hand stays on top of his brother's head even as Sukuna lifts the other hand and smirks up at the stands, letting the crowd celebrate him one last time.
Nobara taps your arm and points to the stairs, and you quickly grab your bag and follow her, still feeling light-headed from the euphoric atmosphere in the arena.
You walk past the plexiglass separating the stands from the ice when you see a flash of pink from the corners of your eyes.
You turn your head, and your gaze instantly lands on Sukuna. He is skating casually next to you, slow enough so he matches your walking pace. There's a smug grin on his tattooed face as he lifts his chin in greeting.
You smile back at him and yell, "Great game!" and his smirk grows even bigger before he yells back,
"Did you like the goal I scored for you?"
You trip over your own feet, making a funny little dance to catch yourself, feeling embarrassment wash over you while you think you hear Sukuna's amused laughter.
You look at him sheepishly, nodding and giving him a thumbs up,
"It was very impressive!"
Sukuna grins proudly at you, flashing his white teeth with the slightly pointy canines at you,
"Oh, everything I do is impressive, princess, I can guarantee."
And you roll your eyes and groan at his arrogance, but at the same time you can't help but snicker in amusement.
Sukuna chooses that moment to grab the front of his jersey and lift it to wipe the sweat off his tattooed face, revealing his stomach with firm abs and more tattoos.
Your eyelashes flutter, and you quickly turn your head away, feeling strangely flustered at the sight of Sukuna's naked skin with the sexy tattoos and all those hard muscles.
Luckily, Nobara grabs your arm at that moment and tells you to hurry up because she wants to meet up with Maki. You let yourself get pulled along, lifting your hand to wave at Sukuna and yell a "Bye!" in his direction, which he answers with a broad, knowing grin.
"So, could I convince you that ice hockey is the best sport?"
You're on your way to class when you see Sukuna almost at the same spot where you crashed into him two weeks ago. But this time, he doesn't wear his white team hoodie but a black sleeveless shirt, which accentuates his broad shoulders and shows off his muscular arms. His red backpack is casually slung over one shoulder, and his maroon eyes sparkle expectantly at you.
You shrug.
"I had a great time. I still know nothing about hockey, though, so I'm not sure about it being the best sport. It was a bit confusing because you practically beat each other up, but the referee didn't do anything about it."
Sukuna laughs. He shoves his hands into the pockets of his black jeans and leans closer to you.
"Yeah, we have official rules and other rules. I'll explain it to you over lunch. Meet me here in four hours."
He makes it sound as if it is set in stone that the two of you will have lunch together. As if the option of you turning him down, is so crazy, that he doesn't even consider it.
You are suddenly very aware of how Sukuna is towering over you with his tall, broad hockey player figure. Imposing as hell. And his dominant personality only adds to the effect.
Maybe two weeks ago, you would have run, too intimidated by Sukuna's overpowering presence. But right now, he doesn't make you feel anxious. Instead, you catch yourself leaning even closer, looking up at him, barely resisting the urge to reach out and touch his bulging biceps with those sexy black bands tattooed on them.
Your lips lift in a smile, and you give him a nod and a soft,
"Ok, see you for lunch, Sukuna."
You quickly walk toward your classroom before you can do something embarrassing like really feeling him up or drooling on his stupid, too-tight shirt.
Sukuna is already waiting for you at the agreed spot, and he grins so smugly at you that, for a moment, you contemplate just walking past him to see that smirk wiped off his face. But you behave and stop in front of him, cocking your head and asking him if he is ready.
Walking next to Sukuna feels strange, but not exactly in a bad way. Your height difference is even more prominent when you walk side by side, and it does weird things to your stomach anytime you sneak a glance at him.
But the strangest thing about the whole situation is the way Sukuna walks through the hallways as if he owns the place, and everyone seems to play along. You notice that people step aside to let him pass. Some even lower their heads, like peasants bowing to their King. It's insane to see how much authority he holds and how much people respect or even fear him.
And now you got pulled into this whole thing, too, by walking next to the hockey star!
You can see curious glances getting thrown your way. Guys are checking you out as if you are suddenly interesting now that Sukuna has graced you with his company. And girls watch you through narrowed eyes as if they ask themselves why you are allowed to walk next to Sukuna, and they aren't.
The only thing that's missing is people snapping pictures like some paparazzi.
The thought makes your lips twitch, trying to hold back a laugh as you imagine pictures of you and Sukuna walking into the dining hall together getting posted on some shady Instagram account with a caption asking who the mysterious woman by Sukuna's side is. Spotted: The resident hockey heartthrob and an unknown girl. As if you are in an episode of Gossip Girl.
A soft grunt escapes your lips, and you sway slightly to the right, making Sukuna bump into you. He reaches around you reflexively, and you feel his large, warm hand land on your upper arm, steadying you.
"Careful, princess. Or do you have a thing for crashing into me?"
You huff at his cocky comment, muttering an apology as you shake his arm off, at the same time as he pulls it away again, before you fall into step beside Sukuna again.
The dining hall is bustling at this time, but you and Sukuna make it surprisingly quickly to the counter because several people make space in the waiting line after taking one glance at Sukuna. You aren't sure whether it's his status as the hockey star or the glare he sends their way.
You get your meal and follow Sukuna, who leads you to a part of the dining hall you have never been to. Technically, this is not a private section, but everyone knows this part of the dining hall is reserved for the athletes, so you never bothered trying to find a table here.
Sukuna gestures to a table at the far end, beside the window. It is surrounded by lush decorative plants and even has a comfy-looking bench.
"This is my table. Come on, princess."
You frown at him,
"You have your own table? Is this some hockey player thing?"
Sukuna huffs and a low laugh escapes his lips,
"No, it's a Sukuna thing."
He strides over to his table and sits down on one of the chairs, graciously leaving the comfy bench to you. You smile at him and sit down across from him, placing your tray on the table.
Your gaze lands on Sukuna's tray, and you raise an eyebrow at the huge plate in front of him, filled with cooked chicken breasts, rice, and a whole mountain of broccoli. Sukuna catches your gaze and smirks at you,
"What? I have to take care of my body. I'm an athlete."
"Yeah, sure, an athlete who only eats cooked chicken and rice but smokes cigarettes. Makes a lot of sense."
"It's all about the balance. Now stop being a brat, and let me explain things to you."
Sukuna grins teasingly at you, and you can't help but grin back while rolling your eyes playfully.
Sukuna opens his backpack to grab a pen and a surprisingly neat folder from which he pulls a blank sheet of paper. He slams it on the table next to his plate and writes Hockey rules â A guide for curious brats by Sukuna on the top, making you complain in mock annoyance.
You spend the next thirty minutes eating your lunch while watching Sukuna fill the sheet with his unexpectedly graceful handwriting as he explains the rules to you. He even draws a small rink and some funny little hockey players. You laugh softly when you see him add face tattoos to the figure in the center of the first line.
Occasionally, Sukuna looks at you, maroon eyes framed by beautiful, long black lashes, gazing at you with amusement and so much intensity that it makes you feel like you are the only person in this room.
You gulp, feeling flustered at having Sukuna's undivided attention. And it doesn't help that his cologne smells really sexy when he leans across the table to point at the small drawings on the paper, explaining in that sexy, low voice how hockey works.
He is a good teacher, even though his pretty eyes and the sexy tattoos on his arms and face are distracting as hell.
But the official hockey rules are pretty easy to understand. What's more complex are the unofficial rules that Sukuna refers to as The Code, which explains why the players can beat each other up without the referee interfering. It leads to an animated discussion during which you have a ton of incredulous questions, and Sukuna answers all of them with an amused grin on his tattooed face but with surprising patience.
As your lunch break is drawing to an end, you are pretty well informed about the official and unofficial rules of the beautiful sport called ice hockey.
"Thank you, Sukuna. Now I finally understand what you are doing on the ice."
He cocks his head, laughing softly before he smirks that sexy, teasing smirk at you,
"You mean apart from looking handsome as hell?"
You groan at his arrogant remark but laugh, too, before you shove the sheet of paper across the table again. But Sukuna shakes his head.
"No, keep it, princess. So you can look at it again in case you forget something. Who knows... there might be some surprise tests. Better be prepared!"
He winks at you, and you laugh, but you take the note from his large hand.
The two of you walk side by side towards the exit, where your ways part. You thank Sukuna once again for the hockey lesson, and he grins at you. One of his large hands lands on your head and ruffles your hair, making you exclaim loudly. You reach up and try to smooth your hair down again while Sukuna walks away with his hand lifted in a casual wave.
When you return to your dorm later that afternoon, Nobara is instantly at your side, as if she manifested out of thin air.
"Why didn't you tell me you were going on a date with Sukuna?"
"That wasn't a date! We just had lunch together because he wanted to explain the ice hockey rules to me..."
You trail off, shrugging helplessly, while a triumphant grin spreads over Nobara's face,
"What do you need the rules for? To go to all his games?"
"It wasn't a date, Nobara!"
You quickly leave for your room, but you can't help but grin from ear to ear, clutching the note with the hockey rules even tighter to your chest. You know it wasn't a date, but you must admit that spending your lunch break with Sukuna was surprisingly nice, and you think you can still feel the warmth of his large hand on your arm.
HE IS SO SEXY ON THE ICE AND OFF IT, TOO đđ I had so much fun imagining Sukuna playing hockey! I hope you enjoyed watching him play, too, and that you enjoyed spending your lunch break with him â¤ď¸
