Of Course My Favorite Song is the One That Sounds Completely Different From The Rest of Their Discography
Strings by BINI
Genre: P-pop
Written by: BINI, Jonathan Manalo, Robert Perena
Choreography by Reden Blanquera and Mickey Perz
---
first post for an outside recommendation! @bini-ph told me i had to listen to BINI, a P-pop girl group, and since I wasn't given a specific song to listen to, I watched all their music videos!
BINI generally has a fun bubble-gum pop sort of sound, like if illit had red velvet's vocals. a great example of what their music usually sounds like is their latest release Cherry On Top, a fresh song with a great hihat and kick in the back and fun lyrics about being so awesome that your presence is a gift to those around you.
however, i live for heavier sounds so of course the song that spoke to me the most was their one song that doesn't sound anything like the rest of their music, Strings off of their 2022 album "Feel Good"
Strings is more like if itzy and nmixx collabed.
The intrumentals are literally to die for. It starts the first five seconds with piano before jumping in with a horn section, then alternating between verses and prechoruses that are emptier to showcase the vocals and more intense (yet still harmonized and smooth) choruses with more intense instrumentals.
the girls themselves have insane harmonizing talents and they can belt like nobody's business. it's also a great song for learning the members' names since they introduce themselves during the bridge so I can identify Maloi, Colet, and Jhoanna as having some truly insane vocal moments. Especially Jhoanna and Colet those girls can SING.
BINI has moments where their voices are intentionally almost breaking, forcing out some really intense emotions surrounding vulnerability and an emotion that not quite anger but something that tells you they're upset with the bullshit you're putting them through.
the lyrics use the metaphor of a marionette on strings, among other delicate balancing metaphors, to talk about how they're walking a thin line between functioning and falling apart, and how the situation/relationship they're in isn't good for them in the long run. over the course of the song they recognize that the situation sucks and they need to find strength to escape.
in the bridge where they introduce themselves it's like they start to recover identities lost in a toxic relationship, and in the outro they say "Untie all the knots, believe and you’ll make it" after saying in the choruses "I'm on strings, don't cut me off" signifying that they've reached a level of strength where they can stand on their own without these restrictive supports and leave the situation on their own two feet.
Blanquera and Perz did an excellent job doing the choreo for this song, making great use of levels and interesting formations, making great utilization of 8 members and frequently having these balanced 4+4 formations where half the members were doing one thing and the other half were doing something similar either mirrored or opposite, all for the vibe of a marionette or a puppet following instructions, until they find their own strength, of course.
all in all it's a great song about strengthening oneself, but if you really want to know what BINI sounds like, Cherry on Top, Karera, and Salamin, Salamin are better places to start.
as i only know how to give recommendations in the form of kpop, if you like any of the groups i mentioned above (illit, red velvet, itzy, nmixx) there's a strong chance you'll like the music BINI puts out. In terms of western pop, maybe Ava Max? Strings gives off a bit of "Kings and Queens" vibe.
i'm always on the hunt for more filipino music and i'm so glad BINI was put on my radar! they definitely deserve more recognition! thank you @bini-ph for putting me on!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018! hello, friends! this month i realized that i have not done a top ten tuesday since january 2021! yes, 2021 lmao! i truly didn’t think it had been that long! so i went on the prompt page and saw that this week was a freebie week, where you can pick any past prompt, and i thought that that was pretty perfect for me, because i had been craving to do a little spring tbr anyways! 🌸🐰 🌷 ARCS TO READ ☆ An Education in Malice by S.T. Gibson – february 13th ⤷ this sapphic dark academia is on this list, because i still have not read it. truly, i was so excited for it, but then early reviews kind of made me apprehensive, and now i’m two months behind with reviewing it! so hopefully i get to this one very soon! ☆ The Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields – may 14th ⤷ i mean, just look at this cover! this is sapphic witches and then add in a cottage, in the woods, on a tiny isle… and that is really all i need to hear, ever. ☆ The Dead Cat Tail Assassins by P. Djèlí Clark – august 6th ⤷ okay, i know this has a summer date, but i already have an arc and there is no way i am going to be able to wait until the summer! necromancers, assassins, and a vow our mc isn’t supposed to remember, but does. i just know i am going to love this one. 🌼 SPRING RELEASES ☆ Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez – april 2nd ⤷ after falling so head over heels in love with Part of Your World last year, now i just want to read everything by abby! i think this one is about two people who think after they break up with someone, that ex will find their true love, so they come together and try to date each other… so that they can break up and find their trues. but something tells me, it’s not going to work out that way lol. ☆ The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo – april 9th ⤷ as you are reading this post, i will be reading this book! all i really know is that this is about immortality and desire with a fairytale historical backdrop and i am so ready to crack open this book immediately! ☆ Wild Love by Elsie Silver – april 9th ⤷ country 2023, and now country 2024 – i can’t believe! but truly no one does small town like elsie silver, and this start of a new spin off series follows the brother of willa (my fave character in chestnut springs) so i am really predicting to love this one. ☆ The Brides of High Hill (The Singing Hills Cycle, #5) by Nghi Vo – may 7th ⤷ cleric chih and their stories are some of my favorites of all time. each one always feels so different, but the storytelling always feels like coming back home and i cannot wait for this sixth installment. 🌻 BACKLIST BOOKS ☆ The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton ⤷ i’ve actually never read anything but this author before, but this murder mystery, set on an isolated island in a dystopian world where everyone has lost their memories, and only have a little over 100 hours to figure out who did it, sounded so good that i actually preordered a signed special edition. ☆ ASAP by Axie Oh ⤷ i really adored xoxo when i read it a couple years ago and i have a feeling i am going to adore this one just as much, if not more. this is a kpop romance, where we follow another character that we meet in book one! ☆ Heartless Hunter (Crimson Moth, #1) by Kristen Ciccarelli ⤷ this one recently landed on my radar, because so many of my friends started raving about it. all i really know is that it is about a witch and a witch hunter, but truly the way everyone is five starring this just has me so curious that i know i need to pick it up this spring you know, it was actually harder than i thought to narrow it down to only ten, but i am truly so excited for all of these books! and it really felt really happy to do a top ten tuesday again, after so much time has passed without my realizing! and if you’re wondering why Funny Story by Emily Henry isn’t on this list, it is because i alread...

here’s a list of the best, mediocre and worst kdramas i watched in 2020
no one asked for this but it’s happening because i have thoughts (also all opinions are my own if you disagree then get well soon i guess... no i’m kidding make your own posts about it don’t hate me please) ahsjsj anyways click to read a lengthy post and if you actually read the whole thing then thank you i hope you enjoy this wild ride!
THE BEST KDRAMAS -
mystic pop up bar - this show had everything i ask from a kdrama literally i can name it all found family (to real family), well thought out characters, a mystery plot, special effects, soft romances that were well written, a happy ending! no show in 2020 even comes close to how good this one was! the writers literally guided you throughout the whole thing so you could come up with theories and didn’t do a ‘aha! gotcha’ thing where they want to prove the audience wrong but they wanted us to be right and satisfied! the worst part about the drama is that it’s still so underrated and people just brush it off as some random fantasy show but it’s so much more than that! 1000/10
flower of evil - who doesn’t want to see lee joon gi being the son of a serial killer, living with the name of a man who is in a coma, and hiding his real identity from his wife who is a detective? this show constantly had me at the edge of my seat on a weekly basis so the emotions i went through while watching this are unparalleled! the writers also did such a good job on writing a coherent story that made sense and tied up all the plot points in the end. just a really satisfying show to watch! 10/10
where your eyes linger - i literally bought a $8 viki pass to watch this show so it should tell you everything you need to know about how i feel ahsjsj the episodes were 10 minutes long but we got a good story with well written characters who got character development in a total of 80 minutes it’s insane! honestly it’s still hard to believe this show had rookie actors because they were just so emotive that you could feel all the happiness, sadness, yearning and pining! probably one of my fave kdramas this year because of the acting that i always constantly rewatch! would recommend 10/10
crash landing on you - okay so this drama was actually released on my birthday last year and it was a time in my life when i was going through a lot so maybe it’s the comfort this show provided me through that time this is why i have such a soft spot for it? like the romance was good, it was funny, there was found family, the nk soldiers were all softies, there were strong female leads, soft male leads!!! ahh!! no other show on this list made me think about the unification of south korea and north korea irl because i wanted se ri and jeong hyeok to be together 4ever! but the only issue i had with this show was the ending they gave seung jun if they didn’t do that i’d give this show a 10/10 but just for that they get a 9/10
psycho but it’s okay - this was one of those shows where you’re literally like ‘wow everyone here needs therapy’ but this show was amazing i loved the story telling and how each episode related to children’s book/fairytales! the writers also did a good job with how carefully they talked about mental health in depth without villainising their characters but actually tried to make the audience understand why they were this way which included all the side characters too who had a well thought out story in each episode! also the dynamic between moon young, kang tae and sang tae was everything to me the actors all did an amazing job portraying their characters, it truly was a healing drama. the only thing i didn’t like about this show was the whole plastic surgery plot with the mother like that was very far fetched but it provided drama so i’ll let it slide because the rest was amazing. this show is a solid 8.5/10
18 again - another underrated gem! who would’ve thought a remake of that zac efron movie could be this good!! lee do hyun stole this show for sure the way he portrayed his character and gave heart eyes to his kids (when he’s only 25 irl was the best thing i saw this year ahsjs) i loved the family dynamics in this show, i loved how it talked about what it’s like to be young parents and how society still think it’s taboo to be divorced! it’s a show that makes you laugh and cry at the same time and that’s why everyone should watch it! however, the biggest clown thing this show did to me though was that i got sls for the first time while watching a kdrama... hwang in yeop if u’re reading this i love u and u deserved better 🤡 that aside this show was a 8/10
itaewon class - i actually didn’t watch this drama as it was airing because i thought i wouldn’t enjoy the plot but when i watched it i binged the whole thing in 2 days and my biggest regret is i didn’t watch it sooner! everyone knows i have a soft spot for park seo joon since he’s my favourite actor i’ve literally watched all his dramas like he could star in the trashiest drama out there and i’d still watch it and be like wow (looking at she was pretty 👀) this show aside from the acting had one of the best revenge plots in a kdrama! just watching a character realistically hustle his way to reach the top while fighting the corrupt man whose son killed his father was so so satisfying to watch! however, the love triangle in this show was questionable idk what they were trying to do with that but it personally annoyed me! but still i’ll give this show a 7.5/10 because i enjoyed it a lot!
do you like brahms? - kim min jae and park eun bin.. that’s all you need to know about why this is a good kdrama! i’m usually not a big fan of melodramas and everyone knows i prefer rom coms but this show was just so perfectly melo that i loved all the angst and pain we got!! also just watching two introverted people awkwardly fall in love was amazing! the characters story arcs were also handled pretty well with song ah finally learning to speak up for herself and joon young learning to express how he truly feels! but... the love square? was probably the most annoying thing the rest in my opinion was nicely done! i know people had mixed feelings about the ending but i loved that after all the pain joon young and song ah went through they got a happy ending together! 7/10
find me in your memory - okay this show started off very slow and it was confusing at the start but as it progressed everything in the plot started to fall into place! i mean this show really took opposites attract to a new level where the male lead could remember every single detail from his life but the female lead had to forget some of her traumatic memories to help her cope with her life! they were also tied together through a mutual character who was a big part of their lives in a different way! just an interesting melodrama with interesting characters i liked it! and moon ga young... i love you queen!!! 7/10
THE MEDIOCRE KDRAMAS -
more than friends - was the storytelling in this show groundbreaking? no. was the acting decent? yes. also probably the main reason i stuck with this show until the end! i think we can all agree lee soo had the best character development on this show he started off as a bad boy who wore one ear stud to actually becoming a well liked character... who else did it like him? no one. also the chemistry between the mains was 🔥 but the second male lead was so annoying is there a opposite word for second lead syndrome because i had that for sure! i think the best part about this show was the people i watched it with on here... shoutout to the five of us ahsjsj also this show introduced me to a talented actor/singer like ong seong wu (y’all know my kpop knowledge is nonexistent so no i didn’t know he was in a band called wanna one) all in all a predictable show but i had fun watching it so 6.5/10
tale of the nine tailed - i didn’t actually watch this show i watched it through gifs and instagram posts ahsjsjs so am i qualified to talk about my opinion definitely no... will I talk about it anyways yes lmao. lee rang deserved better that’s all goodbye and take care. 5.5/10
start up - probably one of the most awaited opinions. y’all thought this would be in the worst kdramas section but i decided to give this show some rights. the show started off strong, lost it’s way after episode 6 and then the last episode gave me what i wanted so i have mixed feelings. the writing was not the best i think we can all agree, love triangle as a plot device? wow so groundbreaking 🤡 the characters on the other hand... i loved every single one of them i mean ship wars? i don’t know her. the show had a lot of potential that was wasted but we also got some cute moments between the characters so there was really no winning or losing with this show? but in all honesty you can’t put a talented cast together like this and then just decide to give the audience a mediocre plot but the writers did exactly that! i think i can redirect y’all to my ‘crimes this show committed’ post for a in-depth analysis. lastly nam do san was a GOOD and REFRESHING male lead and ji pyeong was also a GOOD and FUN second male lead!!! this show gave me the ugliest ship war ever that i was transported back to my high school tvd days so thank you for that!! but the cast was loveable and all had a lot of chemistry together so here’s a 5/10 maybe that's too generous but... i think the reason why i didn't enjoy watching this show as much was definitely because of the tag on here lmao
THE WORST KDRAMAS -
the king eternal monarch - i miss clowning this show so much. the amount of braincells i lost while trying to understand this plot... i should be compensated by the writers. however, woo do hwan was a treat to look at on a weekly basis... however the writers kept decreasing his screen time even though he had a dual role... make it make sense? and i cannot comment on the plot of this show because i still don’t understand anything? also in my opinion tae eul and lee gon were the most bland couple of 2020, there was no chemistry between them and there was just a random kiss in episode 5 and they randomly said i love you... where was the development? also lee gon was soooo boring and such a one dimensional male lead! literally all the side characters were so much more interesting and the cast was good... but this plot. 2/10
do do sol sol la la sol - i wanna fight the writer who decided that the plot twist on the show would be that jun is a minor? i had no expectations from this show but it looked cute and nonsensical but that plot twist made me run the other way so fast that i never looked back! just because jun is a boy they really thought this would be excused like lmao we all have critical thinking skills???? the clown behaviour. a solid 1/10
record of youth - i hate this show so much. imagine not utilising park so dam who just starred in the biggest oscar winning movie to her full potential. imagine just making her a love interest to park bo gum’s character in the year 2020. i watched it up until episode 6 and i kept waiting for her character to get development... but it never happened so i dropped this show. also this show featured the MOST useless love triangle i have ever seen in my life like what was the point? also park bo gum’s characters family was straight up annoying (minus the grandpa) but they got so much screen time like that should’ve been given to park so dam... also villainising a gay side character for no reason at all in the year 2020? this show was a waste of my time i want the 6 hours i spent watching this back. -100/10
backstreet rookie - i watched one episode of this and literally wanted to rip my eyeballs out of my head. idk what ji chang wook was thinking when he signed this drama i think he lost his ability to read because that's the only reasonable explanation for why he chose to star in such a dumpster fire show! this show had a racist character... had a high schooler kiss an adult... sexist jokes... just the worst things you can think of in a drama... this show had it. i still can’t believe so many people watched this show to the point where it had better ratings than pbio... really made me question everyone’s taste? but sorry can’t relate my taste is excellent so here’s the rating this show actually deserves -1000/10
if you made it this far... thank you for reading. let’s continue to love some kdramas together and get clowned by others in 2021! looking forward to it 😅

EXCLUSIVE: Moon Jong Up Talks About ‘US’, His Journey, B.A.P Reunion & More!
Moon Jong Up mononymously known as Jongup, gained popularity as the main dancer and lead vocalist of the now-disbanded KPOP group B.A.P under TS Entertainment. At present, Jongup is signed with Big Ocean ENM as a soloist. He released his solo debut single album, ‘Headache’ featuring Yunhway on May 7, 2020, and garnered much support from his fans worldwide. He also recently featured in Mr Queen’s OST, ‘Venus.’
Besides his amazing vocal skills and dance, Jongup can also rap and is also an actor. He performed in the play ‘The Lost Village’ and has also been cast for the upcoming movie, ‘Idol Recipe’. Jongup is truly a power packed artist. Ahead of his comeback, he pre-released an MV on 1st July 2021, for the song ‘Find‘, which features Moon Sujin. The song has a slow R&B beat with a soothing melody that reveals a deeper, more emotional side to his music.
Jongup is now back with his first mini-album titled ‘US‘ which released earlier today. The album has five tracks starting with the title song ‘US’, ‘Photo’ featuring Bang Yonguk, pre-release single – ‘Find’ featuring Moon Su-jin, ‘GOUP’ featuring EK from ‘Show Me the Money 8’, and his debut single, ‘HEADACHE’ featuring Yunhway.
Along with the featuring of such talented list of artists, Moon Jong-up also continues to explore his musical capabilities in this album, by participating in writing and composing lyrics for ‘Photo’, ‘Find’, and ‘GOUP’. He further shows why he was the lead vocalist in his former group with ‘US’.
With strong vocals and dance as well as the vintage theme aesthetic music video, ‘US’ has quickly jumped into our playlist and we cannot stop singing to it.
Ahead of his comeback, Jongup spoke with us about his latest album, his growth, B.A.P, Indian fans & more. As 2nd Generation fans, this was a wonderful opportunity to be able to speak with an artist who gained so much fame and made waves, even before internet took over the way it has right now.
From his debut in 2012 as part of B.A.P to now, Jongup believes that among all things, his thoughts have changed the most. He shares that the more he learn and know, the more he need to know and thus, he has a mindset, to live by learning for the rest of his life. He believes that the biggest difference of promoting as a group and as a soloist is that, “Now I have to bear the burden which I shared with the members when I was in a group but at times, it’s also good to have that much love alone.”
The shift from group to solo, along with years of working as an idol has brought about a process of change and growth and opened new perspectives and views for the talented soloist, “Through many experiences, I have learned and felt that a person cannot live alone in the world. So, I want to say ‘thank you’ to the people who work for me and work with me.”
His former group B.A.P brought about a bad-boy image which was loved by fans across the world and their debut ep ‘Warrior’ landed at Billboard’s World Albums Chart at #10. The group then continuously made waves with their music and topped charts across the world hence showing their global status. Although the members parted ways with their previous company, the boys remain good friends as they continue on their own individual paths while cheering for each other for their solo activities. The boys are also often seen hanging out together hence making their fandom, ‘Baby’ very happy.
While talking about how former B.A.P leader Bang Yong-Guk has participated in his song “PHOTO” as a featuring, Jongup gives hope to the fandom as he assures,
“If the timing is right, I think a reunion of B.A.P is possible at any time.”
– Jongup
The day may not be far off, as along with Yongguk’s featuring, other B.A.P members Zelo and Youngjae also participated in his Listeners; Listen “US” and in the video, one could see how they truly enjoyed being with each other. The members shared their honest thought on his comeback as they gave their opinions about how they loved the comeback, Jongup’s growth as an artist and that, the fans had lot to expect hence making the fandom anticipate more. This was also the first video in a very long time where the members had appeared together so for B.A.P fans, this was a blessing. The members were definitely right though as with ‘US’ we see a mature side of Jongup in terms of music, vocals or even style.
Jong-up was also recently cast in “Idol Recipe” and he gave a sneak peak of his character, “My cast is ‘Jang Jun’, a member of a mixed group. He gets caught while dating at work and gets scolded”, thus building more anticipation for his upcoming appearance.
He shares that in terms of his style of music, over the years, the thing that has changed the most is that, he now listens to all genres and he particularly likes R&B dance hip-hop the most. When it comes to incorporating it to his music, he admits that there are so many genres he want to challenge himself with, but the one that comes to his mind right now is EDM.
For Jongup, the process of creating music/songwriting is mostly done with his friend, Min – “We usually start with the track. Sometimes when a track comes out first, we write melodies and lyrics together.” He further says that he has a lot of influence when it comes to his music but ever since his younger days, he admires Chris Brown and he still loves his music. This however doesn’t come as a surprise to his fans, after all, Jongup’s dancing and vocal skills have always been on point.
With ‘US’, the title track of this album, Jongup shares that, he liked it as soon as he heard the guide.
“I wanted each track to be different from genre to mood. I had a lot of meetings to go in the direction that I wanted. There were some disappointing parts in the process, but all the processes can’t always go perfectly in the direction I want, so those parts were difficult but overall, this was a great experience. ” – Jongup on the process of making ‘US’
Jongup agrees that he has gotten used to the life of an idol, after all, its been nearly 10 years since he debuted as an idol and if he had a chance to do any special activities with his fans, he would want to go camping with them. He further adds that if he could go back and give an advice to his former self, he would tell himself, “Be nice to Baby”.
‘Baby’ is the fandom name for B.A.P but now, Jongup also has another fandom name created by the fans themselves, ‘MOONW4LK.’ He shared his thoughts on his fandom name and also sent a messages for his fans across the world especially in India.
“‘MOONW4LK’ is such a cute name. I love you always. You know that, all this is done thinking only of ‘MOONW4LK’, right? As soon as Covid-19 calms down, I will fly to you.”

I love what you said about vocalists. I think it one of the reasons I truly fell in love with EXO. The vocals of this group is insane compared to others. I do wonder of this is the reason why so many 4th Gen stans seem to have complete hatred regarding older kpop groups. When it comes down to it, the vocalist quality has dropped off and there doesn't seem to be anyone focusing on it. Like one of the things that made me admire EXO was when I watched Chanyeol's monthly video and him and Baekhyun went to vocal lessons showing that they are still focused on the music and honing their craft. This coupled with the fact that they are all active in the shaping their music shows they they will be around in one way or another and they have influenced so many after them.
I was reading a discussion about Girl's Generation comeback that was just full of people shouting out 4th Gen girl groups (and Blackpink) fans talking about how Girls Generation aren't dominating and therefore lesser than when they first debuted. And all I could think about was that they've been around 15 years, still sound awesome, and doing this music thing on their terms now and doing it for their fans. I doubt you could say that for some of these groups around now (I have already seen a couple of articles taking about some decent ones that have disbanded and some of them been around less than 5 years) and you should want the longevity for your favorite group and their music and sound should be the top thing to consider.
it is simply a FACT that many of the 4th gen (and even late 3rd gen) artists are not on par with the likes of exo and shinee, and i don't care how snobbish it sounds. it is the truth, and a huge reason why 4th gen kpop is not exciting to me. txt and enhypen and stray kids and blackpink and who and what, their vocal standard is subpar to that of groups having debuted before them. very rarely are there any groups that have the same musicality and knowledge of their vocals. i think ateez is very adept, i am very glad that they perform live and they really dazzled me when i saw them in concert, especially because they performed all live. that is one group out of many though, and sometimes i wish the good vocalists wouldn't be wasted on noise music. taeil, doyoung, haechan and jongho are all vocalists that could have more exposure in vocal heavy groups among the likes of exo. where is the r&b? where is the pop perfection? where are the ballads? where is the complexity in the music produced? melodically? why must we get another dynabutter etc. for easy public consumption? why has no other group even attempted the depth of exo's tempo, for example? think about it.
like i said, this is partly down to the audience of this day and age being unable to simply sit still and focus for a mere five minutes. we aren't putting singers on stage anymore because we are lacking demand for it. people constantly joke about boring ballad sections, about snooze fest songs, about how groups lack the talent to pull of more and more demanding choreography. back in the day, kpop groups had huge chunks of their setlists dedicated to simply standing on a stage and singing - shinee being the biggest example of that, going as far as giving their main vocals a duet to just sing and go ham on. these days, all they want are dancers. pretty faces. look at aespa; we know they can sing but 98% of their stages have been full lip sync (unheard of for older sm groups, lmao. shinee is known for their live vocals, as is exo, as is tvxq, etc.), and they are terrible performers. but at least their concepts are cool and their choreographies are tiktok worthy. right? oh, god in heaven. what has it all come to?
as always, anyone is free to disagree with me. my focus in music has always been on vocals and maybe that's why i am sad to have seen the art get so lost within the industry. even performance or hip hop heavy groups used to have outrageous singers (think bigbang). now, 4th gen stans are dragging each other with clips of their faves singing badly live. oh, my.

The elevator softly touches down with the first floor of the building. Felix and Jeongin step out first, cautiously looking around the building. Jeongin waves at the three of you in the elevator, motioning for you to keep moving. Christopher squeezes your hand so hard, you think it might pop off. He pulls you along as he methodically steps out of the elevator, Jisung following you both and he is resting his hand on the small of your back.
You make your way to the front door, the younger men holding the doors open for the three of you. A black SUV sits in the street right in front of the door, and you can faintly make out Changbin’s features through the dark.
“Let’s fucking go!” He shouts at all of you through the open passenger side window. Felix opens the middle side door, throwing the duffel bag into the back seat. He waves his hand for you to get in, helping you up with his hand. You head for the very back of the van, seating yourself in the middle of the row. Jisung is the next in behind you, crawling in and sitting down to your left.
Jeongin opens the front passenger door, climbing in and taking one of his pistols out of its holster, holding it in his lap as he scans the perimeter through the windshield.
For a moment, time feels like it’s a paradox: going so fast that you can’t anchor yourself down, but also going so slowly that you swore that you could see the individual particles of light travelling around you. Everything gets quiet for a second as Christopher turns to the car, his head craned over his left shoulder, eyes meeting yours, and time completely halts.
The space-time paradox you find yourself in renders itself inert. You study all of the details of his face, how each individual strand of hair lightly curls from the top of his scalp, how the ambient lighting reflects in his eyes and illuminates his face. His face was gorgeous, but his side profile captivated you.
That’s when it happens.
Everything gets blisteringly loud and bright, and you stay frozen. The way that Christopher’s face contorts to the noises and sounds isn’t right; he’s grimacing in pain and anger, slowly turning to where Jeongin and Felix are shooting.
Shooting? When did you register that they were shooting?
Jisung had leaped forward to the black duffel bag, ripping it open and pulling out a semi-automatic rifle, hanging himself out of the door, shooting in the same direction.
It’s grotesquely incredible, really, in a dark, disturbing poetic way. In this moment of time, everything freezes. Nothing truly exists; you are living in a still photo, but you can still move your eyes. Changbin is loading a pistol in the front seat, Jeongin in the seat next to him, leaning out of the window. Jisung is standing completely upright, half of his torso hanging out of the door, his left shoulder anchoring him to top of the car as he holds his rifle up to his right shoulder. Outside the window, you see the nearly-white hair of Felix, aiming his pistol out to something - or someone - in front of him.
However, you don’t see Christopher anywhere, which is peculiar, because he was right there just a second ago. Where did he go?
You manage to lift yourself off of the seat, feeling like all of your limbs are weighted down with cement. The men around you don’t notice, still moving in slow motion. As you get past the seats in front of you, you turn to your right, and that’s when you see Christopher. He’s on the ground, leaning on the car, gripping his right shoulder.
That’s odd. When you left the apartment earlier, you don’t remember seeing his shirt so… red? You could have sworn it was a soft grey.
Why was water dripping on your arms? How could it be raining inside the car? Why did Christopher look so uncomfortable? How come his face was scrunched up in pain?
Pain? Did he fall down?
No. No, of course he didn’t.
Suddenly, it was like a mute button was turned off, and it felt like you were a tape left on fast-forward, stuck in a VCR. Things were zooming past you, and you could have sworn that there were blurry lines taking over your vision. Things came back, all at once, and the first sound you could hear was the sound of your own voice, screaming out in primal despair. Everything was so blisteringly loud that you couldn’t focus on a single thing. Reality came crashing down on you, like a tidal wave colliding with the coast.
Christopher wasn’t wearing a red shirt.
He didn’t fall down. It wasn’t raining in the car.
He was shot in his right shoulder, bleeding profusely, and you were screaming and crying because you knew.
Christopher was shot. Christopher was going to die.
You were no longer living in a still photo; you had become the still photo, unable to move. Jisung tosses the rifle he was holding onto the sidewalk, yelling something at Felix, getting him to try to move Christopher. He turns to you, motioning for you to move, saying something to you in a foreign language.
Why was he yelling at you in a different language? Why couldn’t you understand Korean anymore? Jisung was suddenly in the car now, right in front of you, grabbing you up from under your underarms and pushing you on to one of the passenger seats behind you. He says something to you, directly in your face, but you still can’t understand him.
Jisung jumps back on to the sidewalk, helping Felix lift Christopher into the car. He’s yelling something over his shoulder to Changbin, and Jeongin is trying to get your attention. He’s talking to you too in this peculiar language, pushing his hands down repeatedly in a steadied motion, trying to calm you down.
As soon as both Felix and Jisung are completely in the car, Jisung reaches out for the rifle on the ground, pulling it in as he slams the door shut. You feel the vehicle shift as it speeds down the street. Jisung and Felix have moved Christopher to the very back of the vehicle. You turn to look at him, and his face is soft, his eyes open, glossy, and staring at you. He reaches his left arm out towards you, weakly and softly whispering your name.
“Don’t worry, baby,” he breathily says, a weak smile curving at the corner of his mouth. All of the words being thrown around the car suddenly making sense again, as if someone flicked a switch. “Just a scrape. I’ll be okay. I promise.” He punctuates his sentences with short, shallow breaths. You grab his hand, holding it to comfort him. There was no way you could bring yourself to look away from him.
“I need another shirt or something to pack this,” you hear Felix’s voice, realizing that he’s taken his sweatshirt off and is holding it up against Christopher’s wound.
“I’ve got it,” Jisung says, ripping his jacket off, bringing it down to Christopher’s chest to help Felix control the bleeding.
There’s just so much blood everywhere.
You remember a fact that someone told you once in university: the human blood has between four and six litres of blood in it. Losing 750 millilitres is enough to cause the human body to start to go into hemolytic shock. Two litres of loss, or 40% the body’s total volume, was almost always fatal.
The sight of seeing how much Christopher’s blood has been painted over the car nearly puts you into shock. It’s on the floor, on every seat in the vehicle, even on the ceiling, and on Jisung and Felix. His blood is on you, too, starting to dry on your exposed skin.
“How much longer, Changbin?” Jisung is yelling at the top of his lungs, looking past you to the front of the car.
“Five minutes,” Changbin says, trying to sound calm, but there’s a slight wavering in his voice. “How is Chan doing?”
“I can’t tell,” Felix says without looking up, “he’s conscious, but disoriented. I don’t like how much blood Bang-hyung has lost. I can’t find an exit wound, either. I’m not sure if it’s a cluster of veins or an artery, but this isn’t good.”
Christopher coughs, sputtering up some blood. The dark, viscous liquid spills from the corner of his mouth. His eyes are gazing past you, starting to cloud up. “I’m sorry,” he manages to groan out. His eyes roll back a bit, as his hand loses its grip on yours, suddenly turning his entire arm into dead weight.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” Jisung shouts with urgency, digging underneath the seats in the vehicle, clearly looking for something - anything, really - to help him stabilize Christopher.
You feel paralyzed, holding on to Christopher’s hand as it grows clammy and lukewarm. This wasn’t happening, there’s no way. It had to have been a dream.
You were dreaming. Right?
After your shower the second night you were at Christopher’s, both of you were laying in bed in the dark, waiting to fall asleep. He had given you an oversized, worn t-shirt of his to sleep in, and it was comfortable. He had mentioned how much he loved sleeping in that shirt because it was so soft. It wasn’t long after you both got in bed that he reached out to you, snuggling right up to your back.
“Isn’t it the best shirt?” His voice was tired and calm. He rubbed his thumb back and forth on your shoulder, enjoying the feel of the fabric on his skin. You hummed in agreement, scooting yourself back into him to get closer. “I remember wearing this all the time when I was in high school. I would put it on right when I got home. It was always way more comfortable after wearing a stuffy, itchy uniform all day. It took a couple of years of wear to get it to be this soft. I’m glad I kept it, because you look really great in it, almost like it was meant to be.”
Your face felt like it was burning up as you became flustered. “What? Meant to be?”
Christopher sleepily hummed in response, nuzzling his face on your shoulder. “Yeah. Since we’re going to be stuck with each other for a while, we might as well at least enjoy our company. Make it feel as natural as we can, hmm?”
The prospect of getting closer to him didn’t bother you, not at all. After all, he did have a point. What would the point be in making yourselves miserable and trying to make the situation worse? Someone in university once told you that “fake it ’til you make it” mentality had actual positive results in psychology, so why not apply it here?
“Hey, Christopher?”
“What’s up?” His voice sounded even more tired and soft. In a way, it was endearing.
“Have you ever had a girlfriend, or a boyfriend, or something?”
“Mmm,” he sleepily moaned, “yeah, I dated this girl back in high school, but it never worked out. Kinda had a few flings with people here and there, but nothing ever stuck. I’m too flighty because of my career, so I can’t really commit. The fewer people you get close to, the fewer things you have to bargain for if someone wants to hurt you.”
“Oh,” you whisper. It made sense, honestly, but it felt like there was a pit in your stomach.
“How come? What about you?” He says, shifting himself up so his chin is resting at the top of your shoulder.
“Ah, that story about the washroom in the nightclub? That was my last boyfriend. We were together for a few years, but we split. He got some big new job that was taking up too much time for him, and I was really busy with my modelling career. We didn’t make time for each other.”
“That sucks.” Christopher says, his breath tickled your cheek as he spoke. “Good for me, though.”
You couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah, I suppose you’re right.”
The bright lights of the hospital rip you from your daydream. Jisung and Felix carry Christopher from the back seat of the van out through the side door. Your hand falls from Christopher’s, leaving his arm out to hang limply to his side, lifeless and cold. Changbin’s voice rings in your head, distant, off in another world. It’s like he’s on the shore and you’re stranded in the ocean; you can hear him, but you can barely make out what he’s saying. You can’t even fully comprehend it, just barely able to tell that he’s telling you to stay back, not to follow Christopher into the hospital.
Your legs are moving by themselves, shaking as you drop from the vehicle, treading your way through to the emergency doors of the hospital as if you were trying to wade through a shallow pool. Jisung’s silver hair and Felix’s blond hair bounce beams of light around, as if each strand were a mirror, brightly guiding you along the way through the hallways of the hospital, until they stop.
Hands are grasping on to your arms, holding you back as you see Christopher wheeled away by emergency personnel through a pair of sterile-looking doors. “Baby,” you hear Jisung’s voice bring you back to focus. “You can’t go with him. None of us can.”
You try to fight against him, to scream, to plead and sell your soul to the devil in exchange to save Christopher, but nothing works. Your body is rebelling against your mind, not allowing you to push yourself any further, forcing you to your knees. The only thing your body will let you do is cry, collapsing within yourself to weep deep, body-racking sobs.
Jisung kneels down to you, lightly gripping your shoulders, pulling you to his chest. “It’s okay,” he whispers into your ear, rocking you back and forth, trying to shush you. His hands run through your hair, trying to help you calm down.
“Felix,” he calmly says, “I need you to get Changbin-hyung. We need to get her out of here.”
“Understood, Han,” the younger man says, footsteps quickly fading from earshot.
“I need you to calm down,” Jisung’s voice is right up next to your ear, arms wrapping you into a tight embrace. “Christopher can’t heal if you’re panicking, okay? Please calm down, baby. He’ll be okay, I promise.”
He’s lying. There’s no way that he promise that, you know that in the back of your head. Nobody could promise that.
Regardless of if it’s true or not, it does make you feel somewhat better. It’s not enough to get you to stop crying, but it’s enough to allow you to catch your breath.
“That’s it,” you hear Jisung whisper into your ear. “We’ll get through this together. I’ve got you.”
You feel as if you’re glued to Jisung’s chest for an eternity. The sound of footsteps and Changbin’s voice grasps your attention and causes Jisung to shift behind you. As he moves, your entire body feels weighted down with lead, heavy and rendering you incapable of moving. You’re not sure when exactly you stopped crying, allowing the sinking, numbing feeling to take over you.
“Here,” Changbin’s hushed voice is close to you, and it sounds so soft and calm. “Give this to her. Half a gram. Should be enough until you both get to the safehouse in Incheon. There’s more there; I’m sure you’ll both need it.”
“You sure about this?” Jisung whispers, barely audible enough for you to hear it.
“I can’t have a scene here, Han. Not now.” Changbin quietly says, sighing and sounding beyond exhausted, “I’ll send you the specific location over text, just take the SUV we brought. I’ll have Seungmin take care of the rest later. Eventually.” Another deep, heavy sigh comes from him. “Shit, this is bad. First Hyunjin, now Chan. Fuck.”
“Alright, hyung. Understood.” Jisung says, bringing a hand in front of your face. He slips his fingers to your lips, a small object touching them. “Baby, I need you to trust me and take this. It’ll calm you down. Just leave it on your tongue until it’s gone, okay?”
You don’t really want to take whatever it is he’s offering, but you don’t have the energy to protest. You part your lips, sticking your tongue out just a bit to the foreign object, taking it in and allowing it to rest on your tongue. It starts to dissolve, a bitter flavour enveloping all of your tastebuds. As you open your mouth to protest leaving again, everything starts to get two-dimensional: muted and really heavy.
Jisung scoops you into his arms, and you somehow wriggle the limp pasta noodles you have for arms around his neck. “I’m so sorry for all of this,” he says; his voice sounding as if it’s coming through a low-quality mono channel, muffled and one-note. It doesn’t even sound real. It almost feels like his voice drags and blends in with the blurry surroundings, as if sound and sight could be merged.
You open your mouth to speak, but it’s like there’s a cord from your brain to your mouth that’s severed, preventing you from operating your jaw muscles. You want to tell him to stop, turn back, that you both needed to be there for Christopher. You desperately want to tell him so many things, but your eyes grow heavy and you lose all motivation to even try as your head collides down to his shoulder with a thud and everything goes black.
When you were fifteen, celebrating your acceptance into senior high school, you remember your mother pulling you aside, telling you to never settle for a partner that viewed you as less than royalty and to always put yourself first. She would tell you how she appreciated how hard your father worked to provide for the three of you, but how she always wished she would have gone back to the workforce when you started to get older so she could make sure you had all of the financial support you’d ever need and so she had more purpose in life. You were their only child, and your parents loved you so much.
You couldn’t help but wonder what your mother would think of you being caught up in the chaos of an organized crime ring, with two men caring for you and protecting you, one of which literally taking a bullet in front of your eyes. She never approved of you leaving your stable corporate job in Japan to become a model in South Korea, but she knew that there was no way to stop you - you had her stubbornness, after all. There was absolutely no way she would ever approve of this, not with how violent everything was, even if both men were actually willing to take actual bullets for you.
“Baby,” a voice rings in your ears, but you can’t quite place who is calling for you. It’s like your brain hallucinates a strange combination of your mother’s, Jisung’s, and Christopher’s voices. “You need to wake up.” The voice illuminates a light in the distance, drawing you into it. “Come on,” the voice is louder now, sounding more and more like Christopher. That couldn’t be right. Could it?
“Baby, you gotta get up. I need you to get up.” A warm hand is on your shoulder, shaking you gently, and you’re suddenly more conscious of your body. You flutter your eyes open, their dryness causing a stinging pain from corner to corner of your eyes. The scenery around you starts to come into focus from a blur. The sky is warm as dawn is breaking behind you, illuminating the cars flying past you on both sides of the vehicle. You’re on a highway, but your surroundings aren’t familiar.
“Hey,” the voice is clear, and you recognize it: it’s Jisung. “You’re back. I’m sorry, the Xanax knocked you out pretty hard after I gave it to you. You’re probably going to be out of it and feel like shit for a while.” He moves his hand from your shoulder to your thigh.
You groan, turning your head to look at Jisung. “The fuck?” Your voice sounds foreign: low and gravelly. “Where are we?” As much as you want to crane your head to the window, resting your head against the headrest in this position is too comfortable.
Jisung takes his hand off of your thigh, swiping the back of his hand up against his cheek, sniffling once. “Sorry, bunny,” he says, returning his hand to your thigh. “Changbin-hyung ordered us to head into Incheon. There’s a safehouse out here. Actually, we’re just about there.”
You blink a few times, trying to shake the haze out of your head, and failing to do so. Incheon? No, that couldn’t be right. Christopher was still in Gangnam, all the way in Seoul. “No,” you slur out, fumbling to sit upright. “No, we can’t be in Incheon. Christopher is still in the hospital, isn’t he?”
“Baby,” Jisung grips your thigh tighter, stroking his thumb back and forth. “He won’t heal if we’re hovering over him. Besides, it’s too dangerous for all of us to be there with him. We’re a bigger target if we’re in a large group. We’re only a half hour away, it’s okay.”
“But,” you open your mouth to protest, and Jisung brings his hand up to your face.
“I need you to trust me. Please.” He doesn’t look at you, his eyes still trained to the road. He bites his lip back, face wincing in pain. “Fuck, I don’t know why I’m doing this.” You’re still fuzzy, frustrated that you’re so far away from Christopher in case something goes wrong, but seeing Jisung so upset doesn’t sit well with you either.
You sit there for a few minutes, watching Jisung in silence. He pulls the car into a residential parking garage. He stops in front of a gate at the bottom floor, fumbling around with storage unit in the centre console, pulling out a handful of cards. He shuffles through them with focus, until he pulls one out that has “Hagik-2” scribbled on it in permanent marker. He rolls the window down, flashing the card in front of the card reader, and the gate opens.
Jisung unceremoniously tosses the card on top of the others in the centre console, proceeding through the gate slowly and rolling up the window. He turns into a reserved parking spot, shifting the vehicle into park and turning it off. “We’re here. Are you going to be alright enough to stand?”
You unbuckle your seatbelt and rub your face tiredly, hoping it will wake you up. “I’m gonna need your help moving, but I think I can stand.”
“I can work with that,” Jisung says softly, unbuckling his seatbelt, lifting the armrest up, leaning over to you. He gently grabs either side of your face, tilting your head up to meet his for a soft kiss. “Let me be strong for you. Alright?”
You weakly nod your head, and Jisung pulls away. “Good,” he says, grabbing his phone off of the dashboard holder, opening the door. “Let me grab this bag and I’ll help you out of the car.” Everything feels so heavy, but your emotions are still dampened, which, honestly, is a good thing for now. You let your head rest on the seat, closing your eyes for just a moment.
What time was it, anyways? It was four when Changbin called, you remember Christopher grumbling about it very vividly. It was probably 40 minutes from where you were in Seoul to where you were in Incheon now, and the sun was already up over the horizon when you woke up. Maybe it was six now?
The door opens next to you, pulling you away from your thoughts as you open your eyes. “Trying to nap again?” Jisung says with a smirk, offering his hands to you, duffel bag slung over his shoulder. “Come on, once we get inside, you can sleep all you need to.”
Your brain blurs the time from exiting the vehicle to entering the safehouse. It’s almost as if you blinked, and you were on another foreign bed, staring up at the ceiling. Jisung’s voice trails in from the doorway, talking to someone on the phone. You don’t really focus on it, only paying attention for a brief moment when he says your name a couple of times.
You let your eyes close again, drifting off into the same headspace you were in before. It was insane to think that, just a few days ago, you were rolling around in bed with a stranger, having the time of your life. Now you were here, in some random apartment with your ex-boyfriend, who is maybe no longer your ex-boyfriend, with your maybe new boyfriend’s blood all over your hands and arms. Was boyfriend even a good word for either of them right now?
The situation was so absurd that, if you weren’t living through it now, you wouldn’t believe it; dismiss it as some stupid movie plot or some elaborate lie. Maybe you would laugh about it later, years down the line. You can hear yourself telling Jisung and Christopher, “Wow, remember that time we all slept together and then you got shot in the shoulder just a couple hours later? How crazy was that?” Minji would laugh about it too, once she got over the fact that you were knee-deep in crazy kkangpae shit. She’d laugh about it if you made it out alive. If you ever saw her again.
It doesn’t occur to you that you’re wildly cackling until Jisung is shaking you, yelling your name in your face. You snap your eyes open and look directly at him, feeling the smile on your face fade as you see Jisung looking at you with serious concern. “What is happening with you? How can you be laughing right now?” He says, tears welling up in eyes.
“Jisung,” you manage to coherently spit out, still feeling hazy from the Xanax Jisung gave you. “Isn’t all of this ridiculous? How was it that the three of us had such a good night last night, and now we’re being hunted down? Why is Christopher in the hospital with a bullet in his shoulder? Why is any of this shit happening?”
You don’t realize it until you stop babbling, but tears are falling from your eyes in a steady stream. Jisung jaw twitches as he furrows his brows in anguish. He tries to say something, strained noises leaving his throat, but the words never totally make it out. Something in him cracks, and his head sinks down, crying full-blown sobs. He collapses down on top of you, wrapping you tightly in his arms.
Both of you stay like that for a while, completely exhausting yourself from crying.
Jisung had always been a good person; he was kind-hearted and soft with the people he was close to, but would stop to help a stranger if they needed it. You started to notice it about a couple months after you officially started dating, a month after your initial drunken escapade. You were about to head back to Japan for two weeks for an important shoot for a big name company, excited that you had finally landed a gig with them.
He had surprised you the night before you left, coming to your apartment with some takeout, a bottle of cheap sparkling wine, and flowers. You remember he literally jumped on you when you opened your door, excitedly congratulating you. “I’m so proud of you, bunny!” He had shouted over and over again. He had helped you pack, both of you taking intermittent breaks to eat and sip on the really terrible wine he brought.
What would have taken you a half hour ended up taking you three hours because you couldn’t peel yourselves off of each other. You should have packed up your clothes and demo shots, but you just couldn’t stop yourself from pouncing on Jisung when he was sitting on the couch, looking positively delectable. Naturally, he couldn’t turn you down when you came on to him.
He had taken you right there on the couch, taking his sweet time to devote all of his attention on you, making sure you came a couple of times. When he was deep inside you, he grinned at you with a coy smile, something so innocent and cute, whispering to you that he loved you, he loved you so much. It had taken you aback, just how bluntly he had admitted it for the first time. His eyes were full of excitement, and he had the biggest grin on his face. You couldn’t help but tell him how much you loved him, too.
To see him here, now, so broken up and upset shattered your heart into pieces. The Jisung you knew would never have gotten involved in this, never would have hurt another living creature intentionally if he could avoid it. That’s likely why it looked like this entire situation took all of his energy out of him.
Jisung turns up to look at you with bloodshot, tired eyes. “Why is this happening?” He says, his eyes threatening to tear up again, then rolling onto his back. “I never wanted any of this, you know. I only joined the family to help get my music career going. If I knew any of this would happen, I never would have done this. I would go back and stop myself from getting involved with this, even if it cost me my entire career.”
He sighs heavily, bringing his hands up to cover his face. “I always thought that if I gave it time, I could become strong and tough like my hyungs. I regret doing all of this because I know I’m not tough enough for this. I didn’t do this because I wanted to, I did it to survive. Can you ever forgive me for all of this shit?”
Everything in your brain is frazzled and dull, but you somehow manage to turn all of your attention to the silver-haired man beside you. “Sungie,” you whisper, reaching out to touch his face, “I could never blame you for any of this. Nobody could have expected this would turn out the way it would. I promise, I forgive you.”
“I’m so sorry,” he says, wiping tears from under his eyes, “I said I would be strong for you, but I just can’t, not right now.”
You couldn’t really blame him, honestly. He wasn’t made out to be a part of the violent criminal life. As far as you knew, he was always good in the middle of chaos, but once things would calm down, it would hit him like a tonne of bricks. You reached out to Jisung, pulling him into your chest.
You wanted to reassure him that everything would be okay, but you knew better. There was no way you could even remotely promise something like that. So, you settled. “I’ll be strong for you now, okay? We can be strong for each other when we need to be.”
Jisung grips your arms tightly, snuggling his head up against your chest. “I’m so worried about Chan-hyung. I called Changbin-hyung after bringing you to bed and he told me he’s in surgery.” Your heart skips a beat for a moment, breath caught in your throat. “He lost a lot of blood. I think he said Chan-hyung went into shock. The bullet hit his, ah, what was it called? It was one of his arteries - I think he said axillary?”
“Did Changbin say if he was going to be okay?” You didn’t want to know the answer, fearing the worst possible outcome, but you needed to know anyway.
Jisung is quiet for a moment, loosening his grip on your arms. “He didn’t know. Changbin-hyung did say it wasn’t looking good, but we wouldn’t know for a while. He’s donating some of his blood, since they’re the same type, and he’d call me once he was done and knew more.”
You roll your head back and breathe out a slow, controlled sigh. This entire situation was an absolute mess. You needed to know, though, how this happened. Everything was going so blissfully well until it wasn’t. It all happened at the drop of a hat.
“Jisung,” you say, pulling back a bit from the man in your arms to look at him. “What happened out there? We were getting in the car, and all of a sudden, bullets were flying all over the place.”
Jisung looks up at you, a look of discomfort on his face. He lets go of your arms and sits up, folding his legs, resting his elbows on them so he could rest his head on his hands. “I don’t know how it happened. Before I grabbed the rifle from the duffel bag, I just saw these two guys coming at us from down the street. They were in all black, so when we saw them, it was too late. Their first few shots missed us, but Chan-hyung must have been an easy target. Maybe it was deliberate, like he was their target from the start.”
“Are the other guys, you know,” you pause, not really wanting to know the aftermath of the altercation, “are they dead?”
The silver-haired man reaches down to the comforter beneath him, inanely plucking a strand of string poking up from it. “Dunno. We shot quite a bit at them, and I saw one of the guys go down, but once I realized that Chan-hyung was hit, I just kind of stopped paying attention to them. I think Jeongin got the other guy; he’s always had good aim as long as he’s been with us. It was too dark to see much else.
“I hope they’re not dead. I’m already freaking the fuck out over knowing that we were in a gunfight and I shot at them. I don’t need anything else on my conscience.” Jisung quietly sighs, then turns to look at you, his face void of any strong emotions. “I never thought I’d ever have to shoot a living person. The guys taught me well, sure, but it’s so much more different than shooting in the range.”
You sit up and scoot yourself up next to Jisung, resting your head on his shoulder. “I hope we’ll get through this alright.”
“We will." Jisung rests his head on yours, reaching his hand up to stroke your hair. “At least, I think we will.”
The two of you sit like that in silence for several minutes, staring off into the comforter as your eyes start to hallucinate patterns in the fabric.
The ringing of Jisung’s phone scares both of you, causing you to jump. You lift your head off of his shoulder as he pulls his phone out from his back pocket. You see the name on the screen and you subconsciously hold your breath. It was Changbin.
It takes a couple of rings before Jisung answers his phone. He pulls it up to his right ear so that you both can hear the conversation. “Hyung,” he says with a tremble in his voice.
“Han.” Changbin’s voice is calm, tinny from the small speaker. “Chan is going to be coming out of surgery within the next hour. Once he’s out, Seungmin will be covering for me. I need to come over and talk to you both about what Minho found out.”
“What happened?” Jisung says with a concerned tone to his voice.
“I can’t talk about it over the phone, it’s not safe. Felix is coming with me and will be staying with you for protection. Until this shit has been sorted out, nobody gets left alone.”
“But I’m here,” you interject.
Changbin sighs. “You’re not trained to handle this. Do you even know how to fire a gun?”
Your lips pull into a firm line. Changbin was right: there was nothing you could do to help, even if you wanted. You had no experience with weapons or combat in general; you would just be a hindrance if something happened.
“That’s what I thought. Anyway, as much as I don’t want him to be, Minho is back in. He’s with Hyunjin now, who is doing much better. He should be released tomorrow. They’ll be in another location once I can pin some things down.”
“What do you need me to do?” Jisung looks focused, sitting upright.
“I need you to stay there. Your ex-girlfriend is a liability right now and I can’t have her out of our hands, so I’m entrusting you to keep an eye on her. Tell her to turn her phone off, too.“
A liability?
Jisung must have had the same thought as you, because he looks at you in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“Not now, Han. I need to go. I’ll keep you posted on any updates. If you need me, call me. Understood?” Changbin sounds annoyed and tired, even over the phone. All of this had to have been taking a toll on him, but he was the leader of the group, so it was just something he would have to deal with.
“Understood, Changbin-hyung.” Jisung says, and the line goes quiet. He pulls his phone away from his face and just stares at it. “Why are you a liability? Is it because you’re a civilian?”
In all honesty, you were just as confused as him. You flop onto your back and stare at the ceiling.
“Where’s your phone?” Jisung says, turning to you.
You reach into your back pocket and grab it. It was strange, you hadn’t been looking at it for the past day or so. Minji had texted you so many times, her messages flooded the screen when you expanded them.
Oh my god Hyunjin was shot
Eonni what the fuck do I do?
Oh my god he’s in the hospital. There’s a guy here that said I’m not allowed to see him.
Fuck this guy. He won’t leave me alone. Keeps telling me to get out.
I am so mad
Why the fuck did he get shot???
Eonni where are you? I don’t believe you at all
I know you’re not sick
You’re still with Bang Chan, arent you?
are you even alive anymore
I need you eonni please tell me youre ok
That was the last text you received from Minji. You open the text messages to respond and tell her you're alright, but Jisung snatches your phone from your hands, powering it off.
“Sorry,” he says, tossing your phone on the dresser next to him. “I gotta follow Changbin-hyung’s orders. There’s gotta be a reason he wanted your phone to be off.”
You frown in response, but understand. Minji will just have to wait for now, as much as you didn’t want to leave her alone. She had to be really scared and confused. Sure, she and Hyunjin weren’t together anymore (as far as you were aware, at least), but you knew from firsthand experience it was to watch someone you were starting to get close to get shot.
A deep sigh escapes your lips, and your bring your hands to your face, groaning in frustration. “This sucks,” is all you can manage to say. The Xanax was wearing off, and your emotions were starting to surface again, the crushing feeling of dread becoming more and more apparent, enveloping you in discomfort.
“Yeah,” Jisung flops down next to you. “I don’t know what to do or where to go from here.”
“Is this the first altercation you’ve been in since joining them?”
Jisung brings his hands behind his head and bites his lip. “Not really, but this is the first one that was actually serious. The first one was when I was taking care of a protection fee collection with Seungmin in Songpa-gu, back when I was still really new.
“Seungmin had gotten a call from Chan-hyung, so he had to step out for a minute. One guy that we were meeting with was feeling pretty testy, didn’t want to give up the entire payment that was due. I think he had a feeling I was new.” Jisung rolls his eyes and shakes his head. “Tried taking it out on me. He practically jumped over the table as soon as Seungmin stepped out, but I was faster than him.
“His fist just barely passed my face and I managed to step to the side just in time. The guy managed to grab me and throw me to the ground. He punched me once, right in the jaw, so I kneed him in the stomach. My knife was in my back pocket, so I couldn’t reach it. I just let my instincts take over and I beat the shit outta the guy.”
Jisung smirks, obviously proud of how he handled the situation. “Anyway, Seungmin heard what was happening and when he came back in, he gave the dude a swift kick to the ribs. We ended up getting double the protection fee we needed, plus a little extra as an apology.”
“Holy shit,” you feel your jaw drop as Jisung finishes his recollection. “When the fuck did you learn how to get into a fight? Who are you?”
You both sit and stare at each other for a moment, then both of you break out into giggles. It was nice to be able to laugh for once today, after how hectic the past twelve hours have been.
“You know what?” Jisung says, taking in a deep breath, then making a pointed effort to stare directly into your eyes. “I don’t want to go through this at all, but I’m glad it’s with you. If it was just me here, alone, in this situation? I don’t know how I’d handle it.” He reaches out to your face, cupping your cheek in his hand. “I really hope Chan-hyung makes it out of here. I hope that we all make it out of this mess alive.”
You didn’t really know what to say as you looked into Jisung’s deep brown eyes. The otherworldliness of your plight melted away, if only for a moment, as you both stared at each other. The familiar feeling of waking up next to him for so many mornings is strangely close to the front of your memories, but it also feels so distant and foreign.
The Jisung you knew back then was so soft and gentle. This Jisung has his soft and gentle moments, but there was a new air of mystery to him. The new persona of his wasn’t bad, it was just such a stark difference to what you were used to. Seeing him so stoic and serious when you all were getting shot at and with taking care of Christopher was strange.
“What?” Jisung’s voice pulls you from your thoughts. “Something on my face?”
“No, nothing like that.” You look down and frown. “It’s just weird that you’re the same Jisung I knew a year ago, but you’ve also changed so much.”
There’s a tense pause between you for a moment.
“Is that bad?” Jisung says so quietly, it’s almost like a whisper. He’s obviously pensive about how you’ll respond to him.
“No, it’s just different. It’ll take some time to adjust to, that’s all.” You look back up to Jisung, and his face relaxes into a soft smile with your words.
“That’s good.” He stretches his arms into the air and rolls on to his back. “Well, since it’ll be a while until Changbin-hyung and Felix come by, I think I’m gonna take a nap.” He tilts his head in your direction and opens his arms in offering. “Come here.”
A faint smile comes up on your face, and you bring yourself close to Jisung, resting your head and your arm on his chest. “I think that sounds good. We didn’t get much sleep, did we?”
Jisung scoffs, wrapping his arms around you. “Yeah, we really didn’t. Who knows how much sleep we’ll get in the upcoming days, so might as well get it when we can.” He mindlessly strokes your hair, breathing in a slow, even cadence.
You let your eyes fall heavy, enjoying the warm embrace of Jisung’s arms. There was nothing more that you wanted, however, than to have Christopher here with you both.
“Han?” A voice comes from outside the bedroom, startling Jisung awake. He panics for a moment, clearly not recognizing the voice, bolting up off of the bed. “You didn’t answer your texts, so I let myself in.”
“Changbin-hyung?” He tentatively says, readying his stance.
“Yeah,” Changbin answers, walking into the bedroom. “you’d know if you checked your phone.”
“Ah,” Jisung relaxes and sighs. “Sorry, we were taking a nap. Didn’t get much sleep.”
Changbin shoots his junior a disappointed glance, then rolls his eyes to you. “Where’s your phone?”
“Hi, Changbin, nice to see you’re alive,” you sarcastically grumble as you sit upright. Changbin isn’t amused by your quip, his expression falling flat. “Sorry, it’s on the dresser over here.” You scoot over to the dresser was on Jisung’s side of the bed, and grab your phone.
Changbin wastes no time snatching your phone from you as soon as you grab it. He sticks his thumbs in the middle of the screen, pulling both ends together and popping your phone in two with a crinkle and snaps.
“What the fuck?” You shout in frustration. That wasn’t a cheap phone, and there was no reason for him to break it in two.
“You’re being tracked.” Changbin tosses your phone to the floor, stepping on it with his heel for good measure. He folds his arms and looks at you with a glare. “Or you’re working with them. I haven’t figured it out yet, but I will. If you’re working with them, I will kill you right here.”
“Hyung, what the fuck?” Jisung snaps, getting in between both of you. “How dare you?”
Changbin rolls his eyes and scoffs. “What? You haven’t talked to her in a year, what do you know?” He shifts his weight on to his right foot, eyeing you down again before pulling the pistol out from the holster on his hip, pointing it directly at your head.
“You need to be honest with me. I don’t miss from this close.”

The Last Stand: 2
@wrasslin-kpop-and-bullshit @axelwolf8109 @moxleyunstable @the-iridescent-phoenix @ozzypawsbone-princeofbarkness @wintersoilder
A little while later, Diana paced as the others planned for the time travel trip. Despite her fears, she had to save the future. “Nervous?” Manik walked up. Diana noticed that with Manik in charge, TJ sounded absolutely dead inside.
“I am,” Diana said with a nod, “But.....but also looking forward to seeing those we lost.”
“We’ll stand outside, keep the temple safe” “Stay safe Theodore” Manik turned to glare. “We have nothing left to fight for” Diana sighed, hesitating for a moment before asking, “Were you really the one to find Bobbi after Drake killed her?”
“I tried to keep Jade away” Manik looked down. Diana placed a hand on his shoulder. “Everything will change, I promise.” —Later— “When you wake up, your body will be where you were exactly five years and a month ago. The X-Men won’t be easily talked into finding Bobby”
Diana nodded. “And this time, when the horsemen find us, we won’t be able to run” Manik added. “I’ll be quick then,” Diana said dryly. “We have a month tops” Lucian added. “Just find Raven and Mike and get Bobby away from Apocalypse”
“I know. I will,” Diana said firmly, confidently. “Good luck and...this is gonna sting” Lucian winced, activating his magic near Diana’s head
-In 2021- Diana woke with a start, feeling very comfortable in a bed that felt like a marshmallow after years of sleeping in seats on the Blackbird. The large room looked familiar but she couldn’t place it. She heard distant yelling. “Jason! Put the gun down now!!! It’s too early for this!!!!” “Bruce”
Diana sat up, heading out of the room she was staying in and into the main area of Wayne Tower.
There he was, alive, breathing. Bruce, her soulmate, was there. “Bruce!” Diana couldn’t stop herself from running and hugging him tightly. “Um...careful Diana. Ow”
“Sorry,” Diana muttered, loosening her grip very slightly.
“Are you okay? You seem stressed” Bruce noted, holding her hand. “You’re not going to believe me. I’m from the future about five years from now”
Bruce blinked a few times. “What?
“You may need to sit down my love” -Elsewhere- Piotr Rasputin sat in boredom was the American soldiers he and other X-Men had been dispatched to help drew more blood from him. Another general entered and in a strange move, winked at him. ‘The hell?’ “These men need to be home” “Not happening General...Drake?” General Drake smiled evilly. “I prefer Iceman” and with a quick flash of ice, turned into Piotr’s old brother in arms
“Bobby,” Piotr said, practically breathing the name. “Hey buddy” Bobby winked again before doing a poison-rana on the general. “Wanna help with these guys who were gonna send you to Trask” Piotr metaled up. “Always мой брат”
Bobby grinned and shot ice at the soldiers. The two fought side by side, Bobby more lethal while Piotr was more gentle. Finally Bobby iced up his hands and grabbed the main general by the throat. “Bobby” “That’s not my name”
“Then what is your name, truly?”
“Iceman. Never call me the name my filthy human parents gave me” “Man, chill out,” Piotr whispered. “You sound like Magneto” Sunspot said next to him.
Bobby glared at them. “Let’s go” he fully iced up and snapped the elbow of a soldier.
Piotr winced as the snap of bone radiated through the area.
Bobby, or Iceman walked out and disintegrated into ice, flying away in the wind, a jet waiting for the mutants. “Come on” Piotr yelled -At The X-Mansion- Diana knocked on the door for a fifth time, growing impatient. “Want me to shoot it?” Jason offered.
Diana gave him a Look before kicking in the door with her Amazonian strength.
“What the hell?” A short burly man ran out. “Sorry Logan, this is urgent” Diana said politely. “So you smashed our door?” Storm walked out. “This is about Iceman” Dick walked up.
“What about him?” Jamie Cortez asked, walking up. “Wow” Jason looked at her. “Behave” Bruce glared. “That son of bitch deserves to rot” Rogue crossed her arms.
“He’s going to resurrect Apocalypse,” Diana said. “Figures” Rogue didn’t care. “He’ll kill everyone” “And we should care why?” “Because your Professor sent me back to save us all”
“And if we don’t believe you?” “Bobby kills you all” Diana glared. “He loses Raven and his brother, and so, he loses his humanity”
“So?” Rogue obviously didn’t care.
“Can I shoot her?” Jason raised his hand. Tim leaned down and whispered. “Not here”
Storm walked forward, her blue eyes filled with tears. “What happened to the little boy I protected?”
“When you, especially you Professor, turned against him for who he loved, he turned against you. We need to prevent this, and you need to listen to me. Or else I will go to Outworld and they will listen,” Diana threatened. -Later- “So Bobby turns back into a horseman and...turned every human into a mutant?” Professor X asked. “Yes. Emma Frost followed and killed every Shadowhunter. Warpath and Polaris take over other countries. And Bobby froze over all of North America, ruling as the Ice King”
“Isn’t he supposedly protected by Outworld now? What happens to them?” Storm asked.
“He killed everyone in Outworld” Diana said. “Only survivor is TJ Perkins” “But why?” Storm asked. “Because he’s an ass,” Rogue suggested.
“Because Bobbi Morse tried to help him remember who he was. She mentioned Raven and he froze and crushed her heart”
“And then Jade went batshit crazy apparently,” Jason butted in. “She came close to killing Bobby, but he got the upper hand, shattered her arms”
"So what do we do?" Storm asked, "How do we stop this? Stop Bobby." “Where’s Mike Weston?” Kitty immediately cringed. “What?” ”We don’t know. Only Bobby and Raven do” “So where’s Raven?” Rogue laughed. “Try Genosha” “Magneto’s island?
“Yeah,” Rogue said with a cold laugh. “How do we even get there?” Diana wondered aloud. “Can’t you fly?” Jason asked. “Yes but Magneto will not let me land anywhere near there” “I can help you with that,” John Allerdyce walked into the room, holding hands with SJ Storm.
“John” Diana got up. “Let me guess, I’m dead in this future?” John grimaced. “No, imprisoned” “Great,” John said, sarcasm in his voice, “At least tell me SJ and Julia are free.” "I don't know honestly" Diana said. "Bobby keeps....trophies....they could be with him" "Future Bobby is psychotic" "His heart is truly frozen"
“Trophies? What the hell kind of trophies does he have?” SJ wondered aloud. “Frozen statues” Diana looked down. “They’re trapped between life and death. It’s what he did to Barry and Mon-El”
“What kind of name is Mon-El?” SJ said stupidly. “Alien” Jason deadpanned. “Got it” SJ shrugged. Diana figured she didn’t get it. Jamie met her eyes and mouthed the words ‘SJ is kinda dumb’.
Diana held in a snort. "We'll head out to Genosha in the morning. How long until you need to go back?" Storm asked. "A month. And honestly? It feels good to just, be calm" “Are you going to visit SHIELD?” John asked.
"The farther we keep them away the better. Polaris destroyed everything because they got Alex Summers killed" “Don’t you want to visit your friends, though?” Rogue asked. "If pushing them away keeps them safe...call Jade. Only Jade" Diana said
“Why? Why only her?” "Because Bobbi getting involved got her killed. Before Iceman even brought back Apocalypse. I don't want to see her body twice" "Talk pretty tough for a fucking softie" Rogue rolled her eyes. Diana glared.
“Bobbi and Jade are some of my best friends and I lost them. I can’t lose them again,” she snapped. Rogue finally shut up, earning a thank you from Jamie -Meanwhile in 2026- “You missed them?!” Apocalypse yelled, slightly scaring his horseman of war. “We are sorry, Master,” Warpath said.
The Ice King cackled. "You always miss them, and four of them are the least powerful mutants ever. I should be the one to hunt them Master" Warpath growled, pulling out his signature bowie knife. Apocalypse studied his horsemen, humming in thought.
"You're too important to me Ice King. You need to kill the Scarlet Witch" “So, she’s still alive,” Ice King said. "Hiding. I assume White Witch killing her children caused some anger" Ice King and Warpath both smirked
“I’ll find her, and I’ll kill her for you,” Ice King aaid. "Go!" Ice King nodded and flipped off Warpath on the way out. "We should have killed Lucian and Atlas" Warpath said.
“Yes, you should have.” "I'm sorry, you showed me sympathy when my brother...."
“Don’t make me regret it.”

(1) Hi ollie! I don't know if this is too much of a personal thing to ask but I've seen you talk about your bf a lot on here and it seems our situation is similar. I met my partner online just before lockdown happened and we haven't met yet but we're planning on meeting up soon and I'm really excited but also really scared because I don't know what to expect and I'm scared I'll be a disappointment. I was just kinda wondering if you could share your story of when you met your boy irl?
(2) Sorry if it's a really weird thing to ask for I just want to get an idea of the experience and you seem really happy so obviously everything worked out well so it'd be nice to get a positive point of view rather than looking at all the negative stories about meeting people online. Anyway if you're uncomfortable feel free to ignore this! Thanks
Hi there anon!! Don’t worry this isn’t uncomfortable for me at all - I’m happy to talk about it! (please excuse how gay this is going to get though, once I start talking about him I really struggle to stop dsgjkls) I’ll put this under a read more because it’s probably gonna get really long because I haven’t learned to shut up ever.
Alright so first of all (and this is the most important thing EVER) make sure you’re safe. No doubt you trust your person a lot if you’re planning on meeting up with them but even so, make sure the first time you meet is in a public place and that there is always the option of leaving if there are any weird vibes. PLEASE be safe.
And okay so before me and Ryan met up in person we’d talk on the phone for around 4 hours every night (we still do it now, we can’t sleep if we don’t talk to each other for a couple of hours first, even if it’s literally just him listening to me playing video games and making weird noises every time I die dfjgkdfl) so we were already really familiar with each other. If you haven’t done it already, I definitely recommend talking to your partner over the phone too, it gives you a MUCH better idea of their personality rather than just typing to each other all the time, and it really brings you closer too!
Our plans to meet up just kinda poppped up out of nowhere? Like we’d vaguely talked about it and then one day poof! we were suddenly desperate to meet up. Ryan lives with his parents and luckily they were totally on-board with the idea, I’d only been thinking of going over just for the one day but then his mum was like “why doesn’t he just come on the monday and go home on the friday?” and me and Sunshine LOST it jdskgjklds we were like FIVE DAYS IS SO MUCH??? And then once we had a date in mind we were just counting down and our phone calls got more and more frantic. We’d be up until 4am just talking about what it’s going to be like and getting more and more nervous. I had this really strong fear that we’d meet up and he’d realise he doesn’t like me as much as he thought he did? So you saying you’re scared of being a disappointment REALLY hits home, I feel that so much.
I remember the night before we met up we were literally just laying in the dark on the phone making these weird panicked squeaky noises at each other. And then it was finally THE DAY. He lives 2 hours away from me by train and honestly I was fine for the whole journey until I got onto the last train and realised it would only be 15 minutes before I see him for real and I basically lost my mind lmao.
It’s funny, really? I’d already seen pictures of him and talked to him literally every day but then the moment I saw him at the station I really wasn’t prepared for how truly gorgeous he is? I knew I liked him but then the moment we smiled at each other and said hi and just started giggling like IDIOTS I realised how intense my feelings for him really are and I became a whole wreck.
I wouldn’t say it was awkward at first more like it was just.. clumsy? We already knew each other on such an intimate level and yet we didn’t know how to interact in person. The first hour or so was us kind of internally flailing around and me saying “oh my god” randomly every 2 minutes and him laughing at me because of it jksgjlds. We had a bit of a walk from the train station back to his place (which was where I’d be meeting his parents too so of course I was a mess over THAT as well) and we were just walking side by side casually and in my head the whole time I was like??? HOW?? DO I HOLD HIS HAND?? Do I just grab it? Do I ask if I can?? And my brain straight-up malfunctioned and I just yelled “OKAY!” and THREW my hand out in front of him and he did the cutest laugh and then interlaced our fingers and oh god I’m never going to forget that moment e v e r.
Meeting his parents went so well I LOVE them (me and his mum are besties now I adore her) and idk things just went SO smoothly it was more than I could have ever asked for. And then his mum was like “okay go and put Oli’s stuff away etc etc” so that we could have some alone time (she’s smooth and I appreciate that) and then we ended up just watching a bunch of kpop videos while sitting together on the floor and I’d play with his hair (he has the best softest most top quality hair) and it was just so s o f t. Our first kiss was gorgeous too like it just happened spontaneously and then we both just had a whole gay panic and just sat there giggling with our foreheads pressed together for a good five minutes oh god. Honestly, I’ve been in relationships before but everything with Sunshine is like a whole new experience and it feels like I’m doing everything for the first time. I’m like a lovestruck teenager and it’s the best, and I can’t see that changing either, I think I’m always going to be this ridiculous. Literally every time he looks at me my heart does backflips and I get butterflies. I’ve found my forever boy through a random anonymous message on the internet and isn’t that just amazing?
Oh my god I wrote more than I thought I would I’m so s o r r y I really can’t shut up about him it’s ridiculous dsjgkjsd but yeah anon seriously I really hope things go well when you finally get to meet your person - please let me know how it goes!!! Don’t just focus on the things that make you nervous, make sure you also focus on the things that make you excited too! I know that people get squinty when you say you met someone online but honestly when you know, you know and at the end of the day it’s your decision. Just always do make sure that you’re safe and never do anything you don’t want to do.
#I wrote a NOVEL I'M SORRY#but yeah that's what happened when me and ryan met up#I'm seeing him again for a few days next thursday and I'm so excited I could cry#sunshine boy#anonymous#oli squeaks

15 Underrated Girly Kpop Songs That Make Me Go Absolutely Feral
When it comes to girl groups, more than anything I am a Blackjack and Blink. I like to listen to girl songs that make me want to murder men (and believe me, that blog post is in the works). But I’m also a ONCE, as TWICE are my sweet darling babies, but they’re about as girly as I can tolerate. I’m not one for the super girly concepts. I mean, did you guys ever see MINX? Occasionally I ironically jam to Shakey Love Shakey Shakey Shakey Shakey Love, but it was an absolute blessing from the K-pop gods to rebrand them as Dreamcatcher. It’s really only the A-list girly songs I tolerate, like GFriend or Oh My Girl. Everything else below them just seems really cringy.
Except for a few chosen few that are so good that they make me absolutely lose all of my shits. And I’m talking about songs that nobody seems to know like at all. Either these songs came out when the groups were still under the radar, before they had their big smash hits, or they just never seemed to rise to the top. But they are still valid and important. Videos are linked in the song names, since Tumblr won’t let me add more than five videos, but here we go.
15. April- Dream Candy
April is one of those rare groups that pull off the girly concept so well but don’t ever seem forced, like they are just truly naturally sweet and pure and precious. Honestly all of their songs are great, and it’s tragic that they haven’t had a comeback in 2019. But their debut, Dream Candy, is the one that really gets deep in my soul to that animal part of my brain that makes me scream this god damn chorus. But only really at the end. I never really listened to this song until it came on shuffle one day when I was walking home in the rain, and thought, why not listen to this awkward girly song, and then the last chorus hit and OH MY GOD. It’s a good one guys.
14. Momoland- Jjan! Koong! Kwang!
So this song comes out by some unknown group called uh, Momoland?, with a title that is just a bunch of sounds that don’t exist in English, and I felt like I was the only one on Earth that was like, “This is fine.” I was honestly in some I Am Legend universe where instead of me being the only living person on Earth, I was the only one that liked Momoland’s debut. As time went on Momoland started putting out what is pretty much some of the worst K-Pop that exists (I mean, have you SEEN the video for Wonderful Love? Try not to cringe challenge) and sadly enough this group just faded into obscurity and never had any huge, Earth shattering hits or anything.
13. DIA- My Friend’s Boyfriend
On paper this song is awful. I mean it’s a song about being a petty bitch who has decided to steal their friend’s boyfriend, hence the title. Also the song ads cute little quirks like *squints eyes to read this metaphorical paper closer* coughing. Also the video has an unnecessarily long intro. But believe me when I tell you that this is an absolute slapper.
12. Gugudan- Wonderland
It’s a crime that Gugudan has never really hit it off, even with two I.O.I members. Their debut has this amazing Little Mermaid concept and believe me when I tell you that this chorus is best when screamed at the top of your lungs. After all the screaming I am basically in a manic state by the la la la’s.
11. LOONA 1/3- Love&Live
You’ll notice that the main theme of this list is that the choruses are absolute fire. But this one comes in and basically knocks the wind out of me with sweetness, like some kind of aegyo Kool-Aid man. It’s really the music that does it for me in this one, along with the melody, along with Heejin’s perfect high note. If this song doesn’t make you smile then you are a robot, like ViVi.
10. Shannon Williams- Why Why
If Ant and/or Dec were here, they would hear this song and definitely say that Britain’s Got Talent. Shannon is the British IU,hands down, undeniably, I will not be taking questions at this time. But it’s very sad that her career was nonexistent after this came out. Was it the fact that this features a sixteen-year-old grinding against faceless boys? Or that this video widely revolves around her intensely stalking someone? It can’t be the song because that is perfect.
9. AOA- Bingle Bangle
Okay so some history for those non-Elvises out there. AOA was THE HOTTEST girl group for a good minute, with so many timeless collaborations with the Brave Brothers that really changed the shape of female K-Pop for a while. And then ChoA left the group. And without the only member who could actually sing the face of the group, AOA kind of went quiet, save for a few Jimin solo songs. Then AOA came back with a new sound, and while everyone else thought it was terrible, I thought it was a bop! And I love the video and the concept! And the dance for this is so fun. Bingle Bangle is a real yes for me dawg. It’s only too bad that they lost yet another member and their concept was handed off to FNC’s new girl group. Speaking of which...
8. Cherry Bullet- Really Really
Yeah so they literally gave this entire “girls in a video game but it’s fun and cute” concept to Cherry Bullet, and they hit the ground running with it. This comeback in particular is my favorite of theirs because it hits one of my favorite pop music tropes: Having A Funky Instrumental Chorus, Only At The End To Put Words Over The Music. It ticks all my boxes.
7. Rainbow- Whoo
If you ever wanted to hear a song that made you scream “RAAAAIIINBOOW AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!” then this is it. At this point in this list we start to hear the songs that make me truly insane, and this song absolutely destroys me. It’s really sad, however, that this is basically Rainbow’s swan song, as it was their last song before disbandment.
6. Matilda- Macarena
I bet you haven’t even HEARD of Matilda. I bet you didn’t even KNOW that MATILDA just DISBANDED a FEW MONTHS AGO because ALL THEIR SONGS WERE BAD except for THIS ONE which is just full of CHAOTIC GOOD ENERGY and if you don’t ENJOY THIS then GET OFF MY LAWN.
5. Berry Good- Angel
Berry Good was destined to be one of those girl groups, like Matilda, that came from a tiny company and was just given bad songs and were set up to fail. So they crowdfunded, and somehow made two incredible comebacks, Don’t Believe (which is a whole other story that we won’t get into today, but it’s an amazing song that you should check out) and prior to that, Angel. I don’t even know where to begin with this song because it literally makes me forget who I am and why I exist. It’s a banger?? This song starts off so soft and pure and jumps right into a chorus that makes you bang your head and scream “I TAKE A CHANCE, YOU NEVER KNOW” as loud as possible. And right when you think you can’t take it anymore, that you are gasping for air because you are drowning in perfection, THEY GO EVEN HARDER. Like, girls, you did not need to go that hard. Holy shit. They go full IU in Good Day. I don’t know why we were blessed with this, especially since after this all their other songs have been garbage, and they’ve been so unsuccessful that they lost their strongest member and they’re heading for disbandment. But we have this gem, and I’m thankful for it.
4. 4Minute- Heart To Heart
Back when 4Minute was just another 2NE1 clone, trying to compete in the market of “Girls Who Look Tough But Are Actually Sweet” 4Minute, aka The HyunA Group, put out this. Third Geners, this is what Second Gen was all about. This is the meaning of Christmas, Charlie Brown. This song is everything. It’s perfect. And it’s too bad that 4Minute didn’t really stick with this sound, but also not, since with their more mature concept they wound up getting pretty famous once Park Bom... I mean, we’re not gonna talk about it.
3. Hyolyn- Bae
Okay so I know that Hyolyn as an entity is not technically considered underrated, but her entire solo career is being slept on and I don’t understand. With Sistar gone, and now Red Velvet carrying the torch for summer anthems, Hyolyn doesn’t necessarily have to give us one of the best summer songs of all time but she did. Every second of this song to me is perfect. And yeah okay I’ll admit it, I am a Gay, I am attracted to women, and Hyolyn is a lot of. A lot of wow. She and HyunA are exactly my type, and this video is a lot. But the SONG you guys. It’s so much that I told even regular people who listen to English music to listen to this song. They didn’t, of course, because the world doesn’t appreciate Hyolyn like I would, I mean like I do as a fan and nothing else. This song was my summer anthem in 2018, Power Up wishes it was this good.
2. BESTie- Thank U Very Much
One of the things that really got me into K-Pop during the Second Gen was that it sounded so much like pop music from my youth. This is gonna sound weird, but I grew up in a Wiccan Neo-Pagan household where 90% of the music we listened to was traditional Celtic or New Age, and if it was ever anything else it was like The Beatles (my Mom and her sisters were one of those screaming and fainting Beatles fans, the trait that was clearly passed down to me, based on what happened when I saw G-Dragon live, but that’s another story) or ABBA, or any kind of British/European pop/rock from the 70s or 80s. So once I was old enough to really find out what kind of music I liked, I dived deep into cheesy pop songs like S Club 7, Britney Spears, and the like. But I always had a soft spot for ABBA. The melodies, the music, the strange lyrics that didn’t really make sense or weren’t quite grammatically correct but it worked. I feel like that love for obscure pop, along with the 90s and early 2000s bubblegum pop, pushed me right into the K-Pop scene. And this song is the best example of that kind of weird melody with oddly used English words, but it works in the best way. The chorus of this song sounds like it was written by ABBA. The ending of this song is transcendent. Tell me you can’t picture a Korean Meryl Streep in overalls singing the ending of this song while dancing on a beach. This song makes me lose all my shits. But I do have to say that this video is uh, Not Good, especially compared with how amazing the song is. But these underrated bottom of the barrel groups don’t have much to work with in the first place, so we can’t really fault them. This song holds up, and is going to hold up for a very long time. I stan.
1. Laboum- Shooting Love
So like I said before, I don’t typically like the super sugary, super tacky, super girly girl concepts. BUT I LOVE LABOUM. ALL their girly sweet songs are AMAZING. They somehow get everything right, in their own unique way. They’re not at all like “Oh, they’re like GFriend”, “Oh, that’s like Lovelyz” or anything, if you get what I’m saying. Laboum had their own cheesy yet perfect style of girly. Aalow Aalow: A CLASSIC. Journey To Atlantis: A CLASSIC. Hwi Hwi: A CLASSIC. Only U: YES YOU GUESS IT, CLASSIC. Sugar Sugar: DON’T MAKE ME SAY IT AGAIN. I could have made this whole list with just Laboum songs. So I made myself pick one by listening to as many old Laboum songs as I could before I would become an absolutely menace to society, as I am not responsible for my actions after listening to so much girly perfectlon at once. If I was arrested and went to court for I dunno, causing distress and mayhem to the citizens of my city, my lawyer would call it “the Laboum defense.” “You see, Your Honor, my client listened to a lot of Laboum songs, and lost control of themselves and became an entity, a ball of energy, a comet destroying everything in its path while screaming cheesy Korean lyrics.” And I would be set free, of course, because who wouldn’t lose themselves completely to the power of Laboum? But anyway I picked Shooting Love, as it puts me in a manic state from the very intro until the last second. And let me just say now that I deeply mourn this old Laboum, as they came back in 2018 with a new concept that makes them sound lobotomized compared to their old sound. Like slow R&B is fine, but compared to this it’s drab and slow and dull and I hate it. I Hate It. Bring back cute Laboum in 2020, or at least study Apink if you want to see how to properly change an aging cute group into a mature group. I could go on, but now I have the urge to listen to more Laboum. You’ll see me on the evening news tonight, I’m sure.

Fictober 2019 #1 Ganondorf creates a Kpop group
A/N: Yo, what is up? I’m back with the crack. I’m in such a good mood because my three fav players (Leff, Armada and my man, Samsora) made it into summit.
Anyway, this is part of the fic I started last fictober I suck at romance. You can read it if you want, chapter 4 is my favorite one. But to summarize, you just need to know that Link wants to break up with Zelda because he’s bored of their relationship and that Ganondorf works at the Apple store in costumer service where he’s really just doing odd jobs and getting paid a lot to the point he’s the asset of the store.
Prompt number: 1 “It will be fun, trust me.”
Fandom (AU if applicable): Super Smash Bros
Rating: Idk, T.
Warnings/Tags: kpop
Words: Idk, I just write everything in a long file with a bunch of crap, so I couldn’t count.
Ships: Link x Zelda. A bit of Marth x Roy, mainly Ike making jokes about them. At this point, I think Ganondorf x his job at the Apple store qualifies as a ship.
“Won’t lie, you’re the last person I expected to see here,” Ganondorf admitted as he stared at the short blond in front of him, “You must be in quite the pickle if you’re asking me for help.”
“I have no other choice,” Link sighed, “I’ve tried everything and I always fail.”
“Not surprised. What do you need help with anyways?”
“Help me break up with Zelda.”
“You truly are desperate.”
---
Ganondorf had gathered Link and his friends to the training room. No one was quite sure why they had to be there but Link had told them it would be fun.
Ganondorf entered the room holding a huge radio and a bag full of CDs and accessories. He set everything up and soon, the training room looked more like a stage.
“I am training you guys for karaoke,” Ganondorf announced, “You five will be singing some Kpop songs about breakups with Link as the center. Any objections?”
“I can’t read!” Pit reminded Ganondorf.
“And I can’t dance, like at all,” Roy admitted, “Dancing doesn’t run on mom’s side of the family.”
“I don’t like karaoke,” Ike said, “I’ve never even sung before.”
“Can I be G-Dragon?” Marth asked.
Ganondorf facepalmed so hard he almost had to go to the doctor. He was not ready to work with the group of idiotic friends. When they were all separated, the five friends were actually quite competent, but having them all in one room reduced their collective IQ to 0.
But there was no time for the Gerudo king to worry about his own feelings. He had to get the job done, nothing was more important than his reputation as the most valuable employee of the Apple store.
After a week of training, the boys were ready. But they still had to choose a song and that was probably the hardest part of the whole plan. They needed a song that was quite clear on the message Link wanted to convey.
Ganondorf had prepared a list of songs but clearly, none of the boys besides Link really cared about the list. They all wanted to sing their favorite songs instead and those songs happened to be the complete opposite of the concept Ganondorf and Link wanted.
“No, Marth, we can’t sing Bang Bang Bang,” Roy argued, “Fantastic Baby is clearly the superior BigBang song.”
“That’s not true and you know it!” Marth snapped, “Bang Bang Bang is way better, plus it fits with our breakup concept. If the only word Zelda understands is bang, she’ll think that Link’s shooting her.”
“But according to your line distributions, we’re the only ones saying bang bang bang. She won’t think Link’s the one shooting her.”
“She’ll think that you two should go bang bang bang in your room,” Ike smirked, “We should sing As if it’s your last.”
“I want to sing Gangnam Style!” Pit smiled.
Ganondorf sighed and looked at Link for answers. The Hylian said he’d go ask Zelda what music she liked so that he could choose the exact opposite.
---
Zelda was walking around the Smash Mansion’s garden when Link ran up to her. Link never ran up to her, so she knew he had something important to say.
“Zelda, what’s your favorite Kpop group?”
Zelda was shocked. Link never asked her questions. Was he finally trying to be a decent boyfriend?
“Um, I only really like EXO and Red Velvet.”
“BigBang and Blackpink it is.”
“What?”
“Nothing. Do you want to go to the karaoke tonight?”
“Karaoke?”
“It will be fun, trust me.”
Zelda naturally accepted. She didn’t know why Link chose the karaoke but he always chose weird places for their dates. She was excited Link was the one asking her on a date for once. But she couldn’t help but think something was wrong.
---
It was the night of the karaoke. Ganondorf had gathered the boys for one last training session. While the three Fire Emblem lords had a boring fight about what the microphones’ colors should be, Link asked Pit for a request.
“Pit, I need you to act as cute as possible so that you can seduce Zelda,” Link told the angel, “That way, she’ll move over really quickly after our breakup and she won’t be sad about it.”
“But I don’t want to date Zelda,” Pit complained.
“Yeah, I don’t blame you.”
“All of you shut up and listen to my advice!” Ganondorf yelled, “Link, you need to make sure all the random stranger girls fall for you so that Zelda gets even more pissed off. It would be even better if you fell for one so that you’d finally have the motivation to break up with her. Or fall for one of your friends, I don’t care. Just fucking break up with her already, I have a reputation to uphold.”
---
Zelda had chosen her coolest dress in the hopes of impressing Link. Had she really been serious about impressing him, she would have changed her hair.
As she entered the karaoke, she noticed Link and his four friends. Zelda wanted to groan very loudly. Link was obsessed with his friends, it was like he was more in love with them, than he was with her. If he liked one of them, why didn’t he just break up with her?
Zelda wanted to yell at him but she quickly remembered Link had never specified it was a date and sighed with relief. Still, she hoped that if Link really did leave her, it wasn’t for one of his friends. She politely greeted Link and his friends and they all prepared to take the stage.
“I want to dedicate these songs to Zelda,” Link spoke into the microphone.
Zelda was really happy her boyfriend was singing something for her, he had even gotten his friends to help. Except that he’d chosen to sing a song she didn’t like. She assumed he was saving the best for last since he was going to sing multiple songs.
But she didn’t like any of the songs they were singing. She didn’t care that their dancing and singing were almost inexistent, she just wanted to hear songs she liked. Meanwhile, the crowd appeared to be really into the performance.
Zelda got herself a glass of water and sighed as she watched the performance. There was no coordination at all. Marth and Roy were getting significantly more lines than the others because they chose to song Japanese versions of the songs, Link was getting all the English parts and Ike was doing random adlibs. Poor Pit didn’t even have his microphone on.
Zelda felt so bad for the angel. He was clearly putting everything into the performance but since he couldn’t read, he wasn’t allowed to shine. Yet despite this, he stood out to her because of how cute he was.
“What am I thinking?” Zelda said out loud, “I’ve already been through this.”
Zelda was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the pattern in the song choice. Ganondorf realized Zelda wasn’t paying attention, so he told Link to start plan B.
“Zelda, this song describes what I feel towards you,” Link said.
“Please fuck me, Link!” some random girl in the crowd shouted.
“I’m so sick of this fake love! Fake love!”
Link was screaming at the top of his lungs but Zelda somehow managed to assume that he was being sarcastic and giggled thinking it was a joke. Zelda, why?
It was break time and Ganondorf gathered all the boys in the men's room. Link and Zelda were going to break up or his name wouldn’t be Ganondorf, the Apple Store’s best employee anymore.
“Guys, sing the most disorganized mess you can think of. I’ll play all your songs at the same time.”
Everyone seemed pretty happy with his suggestion. They changed into the outfits they actually wanted to wear and rushed back to the stage.
“Zelda listen carefully,” Link said as the start of Zelda’s favorite song ever started to play.
Now Zelda’s attention was on the stage. She couldn’t wait for Link to start singing. But before she knew it, the song stopped and five songs played at the exact same time. No one was even singing the same song, they were all in their little bubbles and somehow still managing to hype up the crowd.
Zelda was pissed off. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. She hated being pranked. But she hated when her favorite artists were insulted. She went up the stage to confront her boyfriend.
“What was that?” the angry girlfriend yelled, “How could you insult my favorite song like that?”
“After all of this, you couldn’t even figure out what I’ve been trying to tell you?” a clearly annoyed Link asked.
“Oh, I’ve figured it all out. You hate my favorite music. Link, we’re over!”
“Wait… Are you serious? Are we finally breaking up?”
“Yes, you never truly loved me. You just wanted to bang all your friends.”
“Eh, close enough.”
“Oh, wow...” Marth blushed, “I never knew Link felt that way about us.”
“Now that that’s settled,” Ike started, “We just need Roy to take Marth to his room and bang bang bang his brains out so-.”
“W-what!?”
“Great idea, let’s go sing Bang Bang Bang in our room,” Roy interrupted.
---
The boys returned to Marth, Roy and Ike’s room to celebrate Link’s breakup. While Marth and Roy sang BigBang songs, the others talked about the day’s events.
“I can’t believe I’m finally single again!” Link sighed in relief, “And she was the one to break up with me, so she won’t feel depressed for a month.”
“Why did you even date her if you didn’t love her?” Pit asked.
“Her eyebrows were better than my Zelda’s eyebrows. I just had to say yes when she asked me out.”
“I can’t believe you dated her for a petty reason and she broke up with you for a petty reason,” Ike facepalmed.
---
Meanwhile, Ganondorf was sitting on his desk laughing his ass off as he counted all the money he had gotten. He was the best Apple store employee the store could ever dream of. He would have accepted a promotion, but he wouldn’t get paid as much.
The King of Darkness laughed the entire night much to his roommates’ dismay.
---
A/N: I actually really like kpop and I respect all the groups mentioned. I just thought it would be fucking funny to have Link and Zelda break up over kpop.

191019 ; AND*ROMA
A staff member leads you down NOVA’S winding hallways to Hyun Bin’s office, then opens the door and leads you inside, where the CEO awaits, sitting at his desk with his hands folded on top of it. His fingers are drumming against each other as he watches you enter. It seems as if he has been waiting for you already. Seated across from his desk, next to an empty chair, is a company lawyer whom you recognize from before; she’d been present when you signed your initial company contract. The staff member directs you to take the empty chair next to the lawyer and then leaves. You hear the door close and the latch click back into place as your CEO continues to look at you. After a moment of silence, he clears his throat and decides to speak up.
“Whenever I offer a position in this company, I am confident that this person is deserving of a spot in NOVA Entertainment and will be able to accomplish something great with our help and resources. I have high hopes for each and every one of my trainees to not give up somewhere along the path and make it until here: debut.”
“And you didn’t disappoint me. During the Supernova Project, you got your chance to show me what you are made of and made good use of it. I was able to follow your ups and downs and to watch you grow from every experience throughout your training and this project. You showed me that you are deserving of this spot in AND*ROMA. You had to wait a bit longer for things to come together, but it’s finally here.” He trails off, and diverts his attention to his desk, where he pulls a manila folder from a pile on the edge of his desk and sets it down in front of you. “This here,” he says, opening the folder to reveal a single sheet of paper, “is a contract exclusive to AND*ROMA and will tie you to this group, and to NOVA Entertainment, for the next six years.”
“Hard work doesn’t stop after debut. It only begins.” There’s a hint of a smile on his lips as he hands you a pen. “But if you are ready to do so and want to become a part of the top new girl group of Korea with my help, you know what to do.”
hyun bin and sunmi have done this dance several times. quite literally as this would be her third time signing a contract in front of him and her….fifth? time strolling through his office concerning contracts in general. the last time they met on the basis of a contract he refused to bend to her conditions to a year contract should he not deliver with any group formations within a year. sunmi is always hard headed. she knows this. but how could one not be after so long with a company?
a part of her expects him to be more smug. it’s behaviour she expects from the man by now. he usually is ready to throw something in her face. sunmi can’t expect him to have a show of good faith. he must have an alternative motive. he almost always does. though this time there isn’t tension or animosity between them. sunmi doesn’t come in, teeth bared and glaring eyes fixated on him. it’s probably because she’s finally getting what she waited years for. what she sacrificed her years of prime youth for.
she wonders if he feels any guilt or responsibility for robbing her of a normal life like this. he made them all wait several years longer than what was necessary and even then, they were amongst the last to put out a fourth generation kpop group (or were they the very last of the big five? that seems more likely). though she did sign contracts on the promise of something happening soon always soon but never now. she kept signing on the faith that soon truly meant soon and not over two years again. sunmi would have been truly frustrated going on her sixth year training with nothing to show it since leaving sphere.
when he speaks, sunmi’s eyes narrow at the detection of bullshit in his words. he’s lost plenty of trainees on the path to debut do to his own inactivity. one of them being her fiancee but of course she can’t let the venom slip. it’s not until he gets to his next point that sunmi knows for sure that he isn’t saying this from his personal feelings. this is a business contract and he doesn’t really give a shit about them. she knows that.
“and you didn’t disappoint me. during the supernova project, you got your chance to show me what you are made of and made good use of it.”
sunmi couldn’t help the scoff that escapes her lips then. that was a whole load of shit if she’s ever heard any before. sunmi knows damn well she’s disappointed him. she knows damn well she’s gotten on his nerves and he’s done things in retaliation for her insubordination. there’s no genial feelings between them. there probably never will be after five, nearly six years of this. years of sunmi having to fight for her trainees. sunmi having to say that she would leave if at least the boys didn’t get something out of this year. maybe hyun bin was calculated in that manner. he held it away from them until he had the opportunity to hand it over, making it seem like he did give in to what she asked for. but the reality was that going to his office with empty, weightless threats did nothing. sunmi isn’t sure which pisses her off more.
“you had to wait a bit longer for things to come together.” sunmi so desperately wants to correct him that people have graduated collegiate academies in the time span she’s been training under this god forsaken company but she knows that him handing this contract, him even choosing her to be in and*roma meant she was supposed to bend over backwards and kiss his ass, praise him for the chance, for the opportunity, for what he was allowing her.
sunmi refused to do any that.
she remains passive for the remainder of his speech. if there’s something she truly learned to do in her years of training it’s learn to keep a straight face when it was important to. she bites back any smart ass remarks that threaten to come up. she resists the urge to give him the glare she so desperately wants to. no, today she’s supposed to be grateful right? sucks. she would have been grateful five years ago. now she feels entitled. this was something she was owed. not something she earned (not really.)
sunmi doesn’t smile when he does. there’s no happiness, no reaction at all really. she waits for him to slide the contract over and she picks up her pen, signing her name on the space marked unceremoniously. she doesn’t even bother to spare a fake smile. once her signature was in order, showing the lawyer the proof of her signature before she rises. she bows her head stiffly in hyun bin’s direction.
“pleasure doing business with you.”
because at the end of the day, that’s all this was. business. she refuses to spare any feelings or emotions towards a man who was only thinking of his wallet this entire time to begin with.
⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰
OOC NOTE: First of all, congratulations to arriving at the final step before debut! I know it’s been a long and crazy journey, and I’m so glad you’ve stuck through it. When you are ready, feel free to post this prompt with Sunmi's response to it.
Should Sunmi choose to SIGN the AND*ROMA contract, she will be employed by NOVA Entertainment without a need to renew a contract until the duration of this one has concluded. As a reward for making it this far, she will receive THREE WEEKENDS unpaid vacation time to use any time between now and the end of January, so long as it doesn’t clash with any special debut activities (such as music show appearances, meaning she can’t actually use her vacation time until after her music show performances have finished.)
Should she choose to REJECT this contract with NOVA and AND*ROMA, she will leave the company, effective immediately upon rejection. She will be able to keep all of her debut points, but will not be able to take any trainee workshops or earn any more debut points/workshop points until she becomes a trainee again. She will not have any special advantage over newer characters when she auditions for other companies in the future, and should she become a trainee at a new company she will be considered a junior trainee all over again, even though she will still have her debut points and would be eligible for debut right away. She WILL have the right to audition for NOVA again, but the fact that she gave up a contract renewal, especially a debut one, WILL be taken into account in final casting decisions.
She will have up to one week to make her decision IC, meaning that if he does not make a decision by October 26th, she will automatically be cut from the company. Exceptions can be made for those on hiatus.
#and✧roma⁑#(( are we even surprised with sunmi's reaction? no ))#(( queen of hating her fucking company ))#submission#solo#rknovaent#a✧r⁑solo

Depressing Post Incoming
I've had a lot of things happen in my life. Who hasn't?
It's only been until recently that I've realized that maybe I'm weak to situations that greatly impact me. Truthfully, I feel very comfortable saying it here since no one knows me here but since I was in high school, I had acquired a drug addiction that had been on and off for the total span of 10 years. I had always thought that maybe it wasn't and that it was coincidental that I would always come back to it but it didn't hit me until a three years ago, when I almost killed myself.
I think some part of me had always been hiding from reality since the passing of my grandmother and I hid through the addiction. Then my brother who taught me most of what I know, someone I looked up to, moved faraway. So about five years ago, I was really, really lost. I thought I was on top of the world fighting everything by myself and by accident, my ex showed me kpop. A genre I really despised at the time. The same ex had introduced me to BAP when we had dated many years back but I hadn't delved much into it.
By this accident I came to realize that the music really resonated with me and I felt free despite being in this horrible trance. I threw myself further and further. Then by some chance delved into BAP and I felt real freedom. I didn't even know why but I just connected to them. I came to a stark conclusion that the relationship I was in was toxic, that I had other things and that I truly had a problem that, for the time, wasn't going away. So with the help of BAP I tried to fight it. I became depressed, looking for anyone to help me, I felt useless but Bang Yongguk released AM 4:44 and found I wasn't alone. I wasn't alone struggling to get out of this depression, addiction, loneliness, whatever it was.
Still in my addiction, I tried to climb out paying attention only to Yongguk's voice at the time. He spoke a lot of truth that it resonated with me and I clung to it in my darkest of days. I found out he was the composer for most of BAP's songs (something I didn't know because I was only listening to tbe music but not paying attention to it all) and began paying attention.
By then Wake Me Up had released and I cried when Yongguk came back because he gave me a path to follow. A path I truly wanted to pave myself out. I listened to it day in and day out. Dystopia even, to get me out of this addiction that became habit, became an everyday way of life that I didn't know was killing me until it almost did.
I lost consciousness and didn't wake until a day later to have no recollection of anything. That was the breaking point for me and by then Honeymoon had released. To this day I find it hilariously coincidental that everything happened in this weird pattern.
When BAP announced they were going their separate ways, a part of me shattered for this reason. The group that helped me and especially, the voice that guided me out and helped me find myself again; I wouldn't hear anymore.... Or so I thought. Until with time, Yongguk released his first solo album. By that point I had become almost two years sober. I've never been more happy than to hear the same voice that clung to, to hear those lyrics that I do wanted to hear. Holding the album in my hands meant the world to me. To think that had it not been for one group, six members and this one leader that I probably wouldn't be here to tell my story. At least a short version of it.
When EGO released I came to realize there was more to myself than I thought. I grew to live myself, I grew to enjoy life and everything that came with it. I wanted more for myself than ever before and I was going to fight for it.
So what's all this? I've told my story one I haven't told anyone. It's so that one day when I find myself lost again, because as dark as it sounds, I feel like that day will come again. Probably sooner than I'd like to think. That one day I'll look back and read this to talk some sense into myself because it's going to be a while before I hear that voice again.
No words can describe how much I cried during Yongguk's Orange Drive MV. For many reasons. First, he enlisted, which although we all knew it was coming; it was sudden and too fast. Second, I remembered how he too said he had wanted to put an end to his life but didn't because of the fans. Thirdly, he came to love himself something we never heard before and it touched me so deeply. And forth, because I wouldn't be able to have someone to hold on to, to look back on but it's okay. I know now that I'm better than what I was. I know now that I can do it on my own.
I promised myself I would never go back to that place. Mental health is something I never thought I dealt with but it turns out that I was a victim to it. It's real. It's powerful and we can fight it. Whether it's music, writing or any hobby, there's always something to fight it. Whether someone and anyone can help you through it. For me it was music and an artist that respect no matter what. For me, I wish I hadn't isolated myself. For me, I wish I had surrounded myself with people who cared. But now I'm stronger than before and we learn through these things. I've made peace with my demons.
So even though I've done this so many times, I want to thank a group of people.
And this man who probably never realized how many people he's helped with his music. With his lyrics. With his words. With his kindness. With his help, I wouldn't have been here. I wouldn't be alive to tell this tale of mine. I wouldn't have the courage to do so.
Thank you for everything
Thank you for saving me
Thank you for keeping me here
Thank you for sharing your story
It's time to tell mine

an accurate guide about red velvet
So since so many people are getting into Red Velvet recently, I decided to make a guide to help them out. You know, give yall some slack because learning five names is super hard. A guide accompanied by my half-assed jokes, interesting.
PSA: If you’re only here to stan the girls because of their recent comebacks like Peek-A-Boo and Bad Boy and are going to drop them as soon as they release tracks similar to Dumb Dumb and Ice Cream Cake, leave because we don’t want you here.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s get straight to business (TO DEFEAT THE HUNS WHY DID THEY SEND ME DAUGHTERS WHEN I ASKED FOR SONS)
Basic Facts
Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2014.
There are five members (OT4 stans can choke).
They debuted on August 1st in 2014 with a single called “Happiness”.
Fandom name is Reveluv. Since “rêve” means “dream” in French, the meaning behind the fandom name is that us, Reveluvs, make their dreams come true and Red Velvet gives us their immense love in return, thus the “luv” part. Sometimes they also call us “Luvies”.
Official fandom colour is pastel coral and not red because l o g i c
The fact that they were formed by SM Entertainment doesn’t mean they got a free ride to the top so sit your entitled asses down, thanks.
Now, you see, they weren’t actually supposed to debut in 2014. I bet you must be confused but don’t worry, it is I, your trusty homie, that is gonna help you realize how many similarities every student has with SM lmao plus the reason for their early debut.
2014 was a rough year for our buddy Lee Soo Man. Jessica left Girl’s Generation; Sulli left f(x); Kris, Tao and Luhan left EXO... This, of course, caused a goddamn World War III amongst the fans of the respective groups. They were about to go in front of the official SM building with torches and pitchforks to demand SM to step up their game. To calm the situation down, our amigo SM must have thought: “Welp I sure fucked up. How the hell do I fix this? Wait, I have an idea! Let’s debut another girl group to cover up all the shit that has been piling up for years now!”
And your boi gone and did it. He basically debuted another group despite the number of problems he had to deal with already. This is every student ever, just make another problem to cover up the first one.
Red Velvet debuted with four members; Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy. The “Happiness” music video got 2 million views in a day and was the most viewed kpop music video for the month of August in 2014. See, the queens already breaking records.
However, the original version of “Happiness” was full of controversial topics such as 9/11 being the most prominent one. This caused such hate to the girls that everyone started calling them “flops”. Lmao Red Velvet stays unbothered as the kpop act with the most Billboard charted albums bYE.
Some of you still may be wondering what the hell happened with Yeri. Well, because their debut was rushed and due to her age, Yeri, unfortunately, couldn’t debut with them. When Red Velvet debuted, Yeri was 15 years old so basically a child.
“bUt jiSUnG fROM ncT DreAM dEBuTed wHeN hE WAs onlY FoUrteEn”
Before, there was a law which stated that kids under the age of 16 couldn’t debut.
No need to worry fellow Yeri stans! Red Velvet only released another single called “Be Natural” before Yeri was officially added. The single featured NCT’s Taeyong on it too so if you are one of those fangirls, better go and check it out because your oppar is there + it is an underrated bop.
Yeri was added to the group during Ice Cream Cake era! Of course, many people hated her, acting as if Red Velvet released so many songs and solved world hunger without Yeri. Um, bitch they had two songs take a seat.
Discography and music in general lol
IT IS GOLD!1!!!!111!!
Okay listen, every single song of theirs makes me thot-drop in the middle of the goddamn school. Jesus Christ sunbaenim is shaking.
Albums: Ice Cream Cake, The Red, The Velvet, Russian Roulette, Rookie, The Red Summer, Perfect Velvet, The Perfect Red Velvet.
Queens of naming their albums don’t even @ me.
Listen to every single song if you want to cure your depression, clear your skin, feed your children and harvest your crops. Seriously, all of their b-sides are so amazing and such bops they are worth a listen and you, as a person who chose to stan Red Velvet, deserve to have your ears cleansed.
Another topic that I want to bring up is “the red concept” and “the velvet concept”. It is not complicated. Basically what it means is that they split their concepts into two. The red concepts are more upbeat, catchy and poppy songs such as Dumb Dumb, Rookie, Russian Roulette etc. However, the velvet concept is where they show their mature, more serious ballads. Songs that represent the velvet side are Automatic, One of These Nights, Peek-A-Boo etc.
They filmed 13 music videos so you are going to get attacked by visuals 13 times, good luck.

Ending note
On a more serious note, Red Velvet is an amazing girl group that deserves so much more. I hope this at least got you to check them out. If not, your loss lol.
I could use a fuckton adjectives to describe their perfection but trust me, that ain’t enough.
Anyways, OT4 stans can fuck off, don’t comment on this post.
Just love all the girls and don’t point out their insecurities in a rude way mmkay?
This is all from me and I hope you enjoyed and that this helped you and maybe made you chuckle (maybe?)
If there is another question that you want me to answer, ask me because I would love to.
P.S. It doesn’t have to be Red Velvet related because I am trash that stans more groups than the number of bad jokes I made in this post.

Welcome to AHLN &Co
I am launching this blog AHLN&Co as a way to help myself brainstorm and navigate through these "muddy waters" we call life; as well as, to share personal Canadian experiences with an online community in hopes to create positivity and perspective on various aspects of living with a focus on health and wellness.
Although 2018 was a strangely unique and exciting year, first full year post graduation, first full year living on my own in a new town, single, with practically 1 or 2 friends and no family out here, there were a lot of highs and lows this year, and things I hope to change for next year!
Highlights for 2018:
-Started and ended my first ever 3 month online relationship
-Started and ended my first ever network marketing company while meeting multi-million dollar mentors in Memphis, Tennessee
-Successfully went to the gym almost daily and am finally able to 3 chin ups and 10 push ups and run for 10 minutes straight
-Went on my first full family vacation in the last five years to Dallas, Texas for my cousin's wedding
-Started in my first ever musical production of Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella
-Started Piano Lessons and had my first piano recital
-Went to Vancouver, British Columbia to celebrate one of my best friends wedding with a group of my besties
-Went to Winnipeg, Manitoba to run Mud Hero 2018
-Wrote the MCAT on my Birthday that I started to study 1.5 months before and epically failed (30th Percentile)
-Rode a Pontoon for the first time and got to go tubing for the first time and participated in my first ever boat parade
-Went to Niverville, Manitoba to celebrate another one of my best friend's wedding
-Visited home for many weekend trips and reconnected with friends and celebrated birthdays
My Top 2018 Moment
- was Vancouver, British Columbia- it was truly a relaxing Vacation with absolutely amazing company, started out with walking around downtown Vancouver, riding a ferry, eating food, hikes up through Lynn Canyon, Whitewater rafting in Squamish ,British Columbia, learning Black Pink's Boombyah Dance ,hitting The Red Room a nightclub in downtown Vancouver, making a day trip to Seattle and checking out the Public Market Centre, harbor and riding the Ferris wheel, then getting lost getting back to downtown Vancouver and just missing the Vancouver night market, but finding an amazing late night Asian food place that had super cheap food, having late night heart to hearts, then taking morning runs through Kitslano and up and down Jericho Beach, and experiencing the first of my immediate friends getting married with an amazing reception, with the drunk after effects of my friends as well, then spending an amazing day with friends exploring downtown Vancouver, and a day at the pool and an amazing night in where we got 100$ of free food due to an order mishap, honestly one of the best trips ever!
My Worst 2018 Moment
-was probably my Birthday, the day before I was a wreck stressed about the MCAT cause I still had 60 percent of materials to cover and failed a bunch of the practice questions, was scared I was going to be debilitated by the difficulty of the MCAT, so much so I could no longer study, then was stressed out visited my sister and played games and ate fried chicken all night, then MCAT day honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought, I just didn't know my stuff well enough, then after all the excitement of the test, the rest of the day felt mediocre but got to spend it with family so that was nice...to be honest it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either it would have been really nice to go dancing or karaoke or even spend the night with friends, cause that night I realized my family had out grown me, being a single mid 20s new grad, I am extremely single and ready to mingle whilst being the youngest in my family, despite my niece and nephew, it is very easy to feel left out, but I was glad I had them at least!
Overall though, I don't want to seem ungrateful, but 2018 was a great year looking back, but as I lay here writing and reflecting about moving 6 hours away from home and making my first 6 figure salary, half which went away in taxes( fyi joys of being Canadian) and the other quarter went back to payoff my line of credit for school, which I am officially one paycheck away from paying off (another joy to being Canadian, living at home and going to school, lower student debt), then a chunk going to car payments, rent, and insurances, does leave a fair bit amount for travel and shopping compared to someone making less, by moving to a new town with less to do and eat, I should be able to save money, but with less than 700$ in the bank, and not enough days to visit family, travel, explore, experience and gain new skills, I really want to go back to school to become a doctor, the perks of being a doctor in Canada, their high fee for service pay, and the lack of physicians in rural areas, the diverse nature of the field with a lot of growing potential, and the flexibility of hours depending on the field of medicine, disadvantages to being a physician may be the hours, the patients that don't really care about themselves, you work alone, and you don't get paid vacations or benefits, or pension. Currently, I work a steady Monday to Friday job 8 am to 415pm, I get 4 weeks of vacation, 2 travel days, benefits and pension, and make a six figure salary but after taxes it definitely 5 figures, I live six hours away from home, and if I moved back home the job market is severely lacking, would be making less meanwhile going back to a higher stress and more competitive job market!
To someone that end up reading this, I apologized, as this post if it was visually perceived my life would seem interesting and great and to be honest, I think I would be okay if I wasn't single, possibly married and had kids, because my life right now has a sense of balance. But as I lay having only been kissed once, single af, in a rural community, that has limited opportunity for me to pursue my interests such as Kpop dance classes, or classes for haikaido, and limited opportunities to meet people, meanwhile being so far away from my close friends and not being able to implusively go on road trips for the long weekends with friends and family. I need to move back to the city, but logically I can't if the job market means me having to work harder for less, so switching careers is the way to go!
Being a student has its perks, yes school is hard and you are constantly stressed by studying, and life passes by, but with 3 months of summer to catch up on or work, I call that balance and you are working towards self improvement and a finite goal! Although being a physician in my opinion has one of the best payoffs as a degree, there is a downside to my dream, my grades are mediocre for medicine, so I have to almost perfect the MCAT in order to be eligible, if I'm serious about this career move I may need to go back to school to boost my gpa, which means more money!
But that is the reality, as a Pharmacist, yes I may be able to learn the stuff a physician knows and apply it to an extent, but I will never have the full rights to use my knowledge, and unless I own my own pharmacy I will never truly be able to dictate my own hours, that is why becoming a physician is my goal. Becoming a physician is such an challenging process as they work for the right to apply their knowledge and provide direct care for patients as primary providers, meanwhile until the public is aware of allied health and the other health care providers there will always be a shortage of physicians and a demand for them! Same thing to any profession though, you are vetted and tested, such that you may have the right to supply information knowledge or care, but physicians are one of the few that can be incorporated.
As I continue this post by airing out my thoughts, my goal for 2019:
-ace the MCAT
-lose weight and reach my goal of 180lbs (currently, 196lbs to 198)
-get abs and be able to do 10 chin ups, 20 push ups, and run for 20 minutes straight
-apply for medicine (goal is to get an interview)
-save at least 20-25% of my income (redirecting the money I would have spent paying student loans)
- consistent posting on this blog, if not daily, weekly, so by the end of 2019, I can see my year in review and track my progress!
When I think about it, people are going to hate me and hate this Tumblr cause it is literally first world problems, but when people say TIME IS MONEY it literally is! We all have the same 24 hours in a day, and it is up to you how you choose to spend it, and hopefully I spend mine wisely! #Self-Care #Self-Improvement
Ps. Physicians if they worked full time in a northern community they could make 3-6x more than a Pharmacist, just saying (perks of being Canadian) but the goal is work less get paid more so... Work one-third of the year for the same amount of pay! #TenYearGoal

EXO'rDIUM in LA
A FAR BETTER EXPERIENCE THAN EXO’LUXION, THANK GOD.
In case y’all forgot, or just didn’t know, i had GA for Exo’luxion, and it was absolute hell. For Exo’rdium, however, I chose to get a seat, and it was a complete daydream.
Once I got inside. I’m not sure if it was The Forum’s fault, or mmt’s, but the organization was terrible. I didn’t suffer too much because of it, but I know a lot of people with GA tix did.
So Exo opens with Mama, naturally. Lit af. My sister and I just about lost our minds, lmao. I can’t remember if there any pyrotechnics(?) at Exo’luxion? BUT THERE DEFINITELY WERE AT EXO’RDIUM. LIT. It made Mama so so so much more intense than I’ve ever seen it.
But even without the fire, the performance was A1. Like, as I was watching, I was thinking about how its been five years since Exo debuted, and about five years since I saw them perform that song for the first time at Smtown, and. They’ve improved so much. They were never bad, ofc, but their stage presence is so much better? I said this last year too, but they’ve improved even more since then!!!
After Mama was Monster and BITCH!!!! Let me tell you, Monster is MY FUCKING SHIT. It’s probably tied with Love Me Right for my fave Exo title track. The song and the dance, are everything. Like, this performance is what I was most excited for going into this concert. AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. MY MANS’ DANCE BREAK. BYUN FUCKING BAEKHYUN. Had me so fucked up, holy shit. AND THEN. THE RAP. THEY SHOT FIREWORKS RIGHT ON THE BEAT. I WAS LIVING.
Third was Wolf. I know how a lot of people feel about Wolf, but. Wolf is also my shit. I unironically love it, and always have. Its either actually in a three way tie with LMR and Monster, or #3 after them. I LOVE WOLF. I have love/hate relationship with the way asian exo-l’s put so much effort into actually knowing the fanchants, while us western fans just. “CHOGIWAAA.” Because I’m not kidding, legit everyone in the arena screamed chogiwa with chanyeol, lmao.
I’ve had GA every time I’ve seen Exo since Wolf came out, and they always perform it before they come out to the extended stage (i think? I genuinely don’t remember much from Exo’luxion. It was such an awful night for me, I’ve honestly repressed the memory), so this was my first time actually getting a good view of it. 10/10. And I love the remix. It’s stunning.
I have no concept of the order the rest of the songs were performed in, so this will probably be horrifically out of order. I’m sorry.
I DID NOT TAKE MY EYES OF OF BAEKHYUN FOR THE ENTIRETY OF ARTIFICIAL LOVE. It’s another song I was very excited to witness live. OBVIOUSLY. I just about died.
The acoustic medley was lovely. Call Me Baby was fun. Like, really fun. It was really fun to sing along with them. My Lady was !!!! I’d never seen it live and? It’s fucking My Lady. Everyone around me started losing my minds when they started singing it. Remember how I said us american’s are pretty shit at fanchants? Since we can’t do them, we just kind of sing along? Like we sing along to the whole song. We, or at least everyone in my section, sang the entirety of My Lady with Exo. MY FAVORITE PART THOUGH, was Moonlight. Moonlight is breathtakingly beautiful. One of my favorite Exo songs of all time. Singing that along with Exo, and just hearing live in general tbh, was really special to me.
EVERYTHING? PARK CHANYEOL DID? WAS LIT? AS FUCK? HIS RAPS? GO OFF. HIS GUITAR SOLO? WENT OFF. Like, he’s at the bottom of my Exo bias list, but he got me GOING at Exo’rdium. Holy fuck.
I’ve seen Exo perfom 365 three times now, but it still always makes me so happy :’-) its such a happy song. Our seats were the second furthest right side section, and Baekhyun brought his cute lil self over to the part of the stage closest to us for a while during 365. He’s such a cute little bean.
LIGHTSABER IS ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVE EXO SONGS. STAR WARS IS MY SHIT. EXO IS MY SHIT. SO HOW COULD LIGHTSABER NOT BE MY SHIT. IT WENT OFF. I was SO excited to see it live. I was row one, and when I heard Vader’s breathing, my physical reaction was so intense!!! I almost threw myself over the rail in front of me, lmao. IT WAS LIT.
Love Me Right is always a joy to watch. “Shawty imma party til the sundown” was almost as lit as “chogiwa” haha. Sehun’s lines are very popular for singing along in general actually.
I got super emo during Lucky. Thinking about the lyrics got me all soft and gross. So lucky to be your love, I am. ♥
Most of the recording I did was through snapchat, so most of my “fancams” are only 10 seconds long. And I made a point to get baekhyun’s “my babe” during playboy, and my fucking sister, at the top of her lungs, in the most disgusting tone, decided to sing along. It’s fucking hilarious, but it ruined my video. But, I heard it irl, so whatever.
During Tender Love, Sehun came over to the part of the stage Baekhyun came to during 365 and was even cuter. OH SEHUN WAS THE CUTEST LIL THING ALL NIGHT. LIKE the first thing out of his mouth after he introduced himself at the beginning of the night was “I missed you.” ;-; ♥
I’m not sure if I’ve said it here, but I’ve gone off about it on twitter several times over the years, but Exo love us so fucking much y’all. So fucking much. Don’t ever doubt it, even for a second. They adore us. Truly. You can see it in their eyes, and hear it in the way they talk to us. I’ve seen live on five different occasions, from in the pit to the back corner of the nosebleeds, and they’ve never failed to make me feel loved.
Especially, LA, and L.A., exo-l’s apparently. :’-) Suho said it was his fave place in the whole world (other than home, ofc). And Xiuminnie said that since they’ve come to los angeles so many times, they feel really comfortable with us! ;A; And you could tell. You could feel it. The boys were so happy and cute and playful throughout the concert. Like they truly seemed to be having as much fun as we were. And when it was over, they didn’t want to leave. They literally tried to stall the end of the concert for as long as possible. But even as they were leaving, they were all skipping and singing and dancing still. They were seriously so happy that night, guys. It makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.
And when Suho, I think, mentioned that they were going home after the concert, Baekhyun pouted!! It was super super cute.
Since I was in a side section, I could lowkey partially see backstage and!!! the members would peek out and wave at us!!! IT WAS THE CUTEST THING, OMF.
THEY LOVE US SO MUCH, I CAN’T SAY IT ENOUGH. Like, Baekhyun even even expressed his concern for fans in the pit during the first ment. Not to be biased but bbh loves exo-l so much I could go on for days.
WE SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BAEKHYUN. It took a few tries to get it right, but in the end, we finally did it. That was a big deal for me. Baekhyun is so so so special to me, and I’m so glad I was able to be there and do that for him. I can’t even put it into words. Also? The timing of Exo’s L.A. concerts is fantastic. Last year I literally got to spend Valentine’s Day with them? This year it was a couple days after my birthday and a couple days before Baekhyun’s? I LOVE THIS CONCEPT.
Even though Yixing wasn’t there, again, everyone made sure to give him plenty of love when he showed up in the vcrs. The screams for him were so loud. I hope to god he finally gets to come back next time. I miss my boyfriend, lmao.
The silver ocean was beautiful. Since I was in the pit last year, I didn’t actually get to look at it. But this year I did, and I bought my first, ever in the history of me being a kpop fan, lightstick, so I was actually a part of it too!
THIS VCR IS MY FAVORITE THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. IT’S SO CUTE. SO PURE. SO FUN. SO HAPPY. I ADORE IT.
There’s always that one member, in every kpop group I’ve ever seen, that is fucking magnetic on stage. In my Exo’luxion fanaccount, I lied. My Pinocchio ass was like “idk who it is in Exo,” knowing damn well its Jongdae. I even said “tonight it was Jongdae!” BITCH IT’S ALWAYS JONGDAE, WTF DO U MEAN. It was Jongdae at Smtown, I had moments with him at kcon 2013 too, it was him at Exo’luxion, and it was sure as shit him at Exo’rdium too. THE BOY GLOWS. I LOVE HIM. I was too far back to confirm this, but at the end, during angel, he (and everyone else) took time to wave and say goodbye to everyone they could see. I’m talking each section, and everyone they could see in them. And I was front row of my section, and wearing white, so? I think I’d be easier to spot than someone in row 15 and in black, u feel? Anyway Jongdae spent a while, like, actually kind of a long time, waving to my section, and I’d like to think he looked at me. It looked like he did, and I started jumping when he waved “at me” and then he started jumping too? Idk. But it was cute as fuck, and I love him.
Kyungsoo like? forgot? the choreography to one song. I don’t remember which, but it was really cute lmao. He was also the token In-N-Out enthusiast haha.
FUCK THIS IS WHY I NEED TO WRITE MY FANACCOUNTS THE NIGHT OFF I FORGET LITTLE DETAILS. Baekhyun said something about it not mattering whether we dance cutely or erotically, as long as we dance, or something? haha. He also mentioned that since it was the last stop, he was giving more energy than normal. Jongin also said that because of our energy, it was impossible to feel tired.
Chanyeol put on a Deadpool mask and then put on an owl mask over it and was just being... Chanyeol, lmao. And Suho was so done with him, lmao. “Are you crazy?”
This concert was so fun. The atmosphere was so light and happy. I legit did not stop smiling the whole night. I felt like an idiot, because I know half the time it was a dopey ass, awestruck smile. But the whole thing was just? Surreal. I love Exo so much. They’re the only artist/s, kpop or otherwise, that I’ve supported since day one. Sehun and Jongin are only a year older than me. I’ve seen them every time they’ve come to L.A. (except for when exo-m came in 2014). Like, I’ve literally been growing up with these boys for the last five years. And I’m just... so thankful that I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of this journey. And so proud of everything they’ve accomplished. I love Exo with all my heart. ♥
