#my characters #also it is worth pointing out that piero does just make fire ! like a superpower!#and the time he set his ex on fire was ACTUALLY before they dated and it was because she was hired to kill him #but she used her cult like popularity to surround him and he got really scared bc he doesnt really wanna die #so he just meant to send a warning flare type thing ? but it was much more extreme than intended #and she got burnt while one of the followers died #and she then was like well now i dont want him dead cause HE CAN BE OF SO MUCH USE and then #manipulated him and lied and betrayed him and started to date him but without meaning it #so he was naive and thought maybe someone finally didnt hate him for his powers and then oops!#shes just using him and so he leaves one day and the entire cult holds it against him for making life harder for her #and also she has some power over time in the sense she can halt time and walk by people unnoticed #then release time and no one notices #except she does it so much to piero that he slowly builds a tolerance to it and thats actually when he overhears her #commenting on how useful he is but how annoying he is and how much she has to put up with him #and unfortunately for piero shes also the only person he can think of that might be able to do something #about langdon and getting him back home cause hes from earth #and they are very much not on earth #but its not completely an isekai type plot in the sense that langdon didnt die and get reincarnated #he just simply popped up in another dimension #that part of the plot hasnt actually been decided on the hows #but the ex gf and cult leader does help langdon get back home !#hi i love my ocs a lot im sorry that even with the fact i love them i cant sit still #on which ocs i will draw for #im still constantly thinking about the death dimension group and also oifil and also like 10 other plots #but still yeah ok so him acknowledging he doesnt like being lied to is due to the ex he needs to get to help them which is why #he thinks about it very clearly - hes about to go try to request help from someone who spent YEARS lying to him

my haterism really does blind me because i actually would not mind jason growing up catholic. however. catholics are so entitled that anytime ive expressed the mildest disinterest in that i've had people upset with me for saying that I dont engage with a character (who is not canonically catholic) as catholic. so on principle i have to remain a hater

one thing running @riordanverse-ship-polls has gotten me thinking about is that the fandom should bring back a lot of old ships that got dropped. Just to mix things up and add some more variety into the fandom again. The community used to have a lot of really interesting and really varied ships but now most of the stuff you see is canon and maybe a couple of leftover things from that time or some rarepairs and that's it (and a lot of weird aggression towards people who diverge from canon ships at all). Half the major characters don't even have prominent alternative ships to canon these days. Like, did you know Hazel/Piper used to be a decently popular ship? When was the last time you saw Hazel/Piper stuff? Probably never if you're a newer fan.

anyways we could really stand to have more variety. together we can bring back variety. the fandom needs to get weirder again. like cmon we've got some new characters let's thing of some new combos.

im a die-hard Athos/Aramis truther 🙏 i also adore the whole thing Aramis and Madame de Chevreuse have going on, especially their fucked up little divorce in the last book, it's insane and i'm obsessed with it. sometimes I’ll see a pairing that I so desperately wished I liked, but when I look at it, it’s like. Everyone shipping it seems to treat it like a cute sweet normal pairing, when it seems blatantly obvious to me that it would be a complete trainwreck that would crash and burn sooner than coalesce into a healthy relationship, considering the characters actual canon personalities.

my overall interpretation of this song is "I'm trying to break through the friend zone (friendship barrier) so that you like me instead of thinking of me as a friend", so any vagueness in translation went in that direction

The use of "lock horns" in the official translation snippet + the HAO motifs give me the mental image of like, a hand-to-hand kung fu battle, so I leaned towards that imagery whenever there was vagueness (as opposed to like, a military campaign, for example)

deco's official english translations tend to be very liberal, so i tried to keep my translation a little more literal

i don’t know if this is gonna make sense but i feel like Wicked’s casting is bad for like. longevity. bc sure in the Movie Theater having the Movie Theater experience my ape brain goes oh! jeff goldblum! haha cool. then i exit the theater and turn on the soundtrack in the car. then i also listen to it the next day at home with earbuds. and maybe again the day after that in the shower with a speaker. and it’s like hmm. i don’t think seeing jeff goldblum as the wizard of oz is worth having mediocre moments in the soundtrack. that you should want me to listen to multiple times. “i thought he did fine!” fine? it’s. it’s Wicked. genuinely why on earth should i settle for “fine” ITS WICKED i feel like im going bananas.

soo many people mischaracterize shadow in their sonadow stuff to the point where he acts more like knuckles . and so many people also take moments between sonic and knuckles and try to make them about shadow and completely ignore knuckles or take certain themes and dynamics in sonic and knuckles' relationship and apply them to sonic and shadow instead even when it doesnt make sense and theyre just making stuff up. and its so annoying i often feel like im the only person whos noticed this i swear some sonadow fans would like sonknux more if it werent for the fact that they dont really care about knuckles all that much

#the klock keeps ticking #ouran high school host club #i watched ouran when i was 13 and repressed ah the classic experience yes yes #and i always said id rewatch but never did. until now cuz im going through something #im like halfway through and yeah id say theres quite a lot that ages like milk lol #like mostly just the way haruhi is treated is just. bad lol #a good thing is i like how haruhi personally feels about their own gender where they really honestly dont fucking care #which was a big relief cuz similar cases will have the ‘secret girl’ character either be really defensive #or you know. be like a naoto where its actually just the most uncomfortable thing ever #but the problem is the way that tamaki and occasionally the twins are like really obsessed with the girl thing #and constantly want haruhi to take on a feminine role cuz that wouldnt threaten their sexuality as much #tamaki in general is written so fucking weird lol and i do remember being based back then and hating him #and i never liked him with haruhi like im sorry hes just the worst option #hes capable of being funny when hes not being weird but I think he still ends up feeling horribly written #like when hes having his DRAMATIC LOVE INTEREST moments they just feel so horribly out of place #and theyre often times just badly aged tropes also the way haruhi is written in relation to the other members is weird #like i can see why theyd like the other characters but ive not really seen any reasons for them to like tamaki #but then the show will just randomly be like ‘oh yes haruhi thinks tamaki is a lovely person’ and its like. ooookay?#its ass lol and im probably preaching to the choir but like. haruhi is way better with a woman right?#i just know some desperate ass bastards have made some haruhi/renge content and i get it #other than that stuff i dont like i will say i enjoy what exists outside of the weird haruhi stuff #i like the characters and the concept is very funny and the episodes where everyone is normal are charming #and you know i gotta appreciate it for the impact it had on lame ass gay people even if the queer content is messy #ouran was just like. what we had for a long time. or at least was the most popular anime that featured queerness in some positive capacity #but also like. as it goes with this stuff once youve gotten to see better representation #you look back and youre like wow. im so fucking glad we can do better than this dogshit 😩

#bc based on how prevalent these things are and people talking about them like theyre canon details #theyre more likely straight up misinfo rather than headcanon. and i fucking hate it lol #cuz its like. yeah thats a less known less popular loz game but theres still like. you can look shit up #it makes it feel like theres a rlly dismissing attitude towards it like eh dont need to check im sure this is true #like ofc the whole oh the world of the ocean king is a dream work is a massive thorn in my side bc it ISNT #but also likr. ohhhhh link is given the ability to see and speak with ghosts in ph… no???? no.#theyre just there. you walk up to them and you can just interact with ghosts literally nothing suggests this is some power #ciela can see them fine and its straight up not brought up. id have to double check but i think some of the ghosts in the ocean king temple #mention interacting with other ghosts before dying its just A Thing you can do its fucking loz we got walking skeletons #you can talk to the ghosts. and if it is link specific then its not smth he got as a result of or during ph #literally the first thing he does when he walks into that temple is talk to a ghost he can just do that at the least #will prolly delete this later this is just me yelling at clouds bc i dont have other outlets
