i do! they’re fun and a little overhyped but ultimately harmless - i think they’re most interesting if people take a healthy step back and realize they’re just a group of friends having fun making art together. ive been occasionally rewatching them while working recently so that post is really just a joking tip of the iceberg that are my thoughts on how their comedic stylings have changed over time and in response to the unexpected popularity

my haterism really does blind me because i actually would not mind jason growing up catholic. however. catholics are so entitled that anytime ive expressed the mildest disinterest in that i've had people upset with me for saying that I dont engage with a character (who is not canonically catholic) as catholic. so on principle i have to remain a hater

#and i dont mean my relatively recent post abt hating christian jason that one was hostile i'll happily admit that #but like years ago i said it's not my thing a couple of time and ppl acted like i snatched their crosses away from them #anyways to briefly break my own rule: ive always rlly liked it coming from willis' side rather than cathy's as is more popular in canon (yes #they can both be catholics. i just dont particularly want her to be. maybe her family was. and i hc her as latina so that would be the #context for her). i feel like it has a lot to add to willis and how jason perceives willis' struggle. still not personally into catholic #jason tho im not that open minded and accepting #regardless. it's a sign of growth for me that i am admitting this at all instead of shifting my energy into another anti catholicism post

one thing running @riordanverse-ship-polls has gotten me thinking about is that the fandom should bring back a lot of old ships that got dropped. Just to mix things up and add some more variety into the fandom again. The community used to have a lot of really interesting and really varied ships but now most of the stuff you see is canon and maybe a couple of leftover things from that time or some rarepairs and that's it (and a lot of weird aggression towards people who diverge from canon ships at all). Half the major characters don't even have prominent alternative ships to canon these days. Like, did you know Hazel/Piper used to be a decently popular ship? When was the last time you saw Hazel/Piper stuff? Probably never if you're a newer fan.

anyways we could really stand to have more variety. together we can bring back variety. the fandom needs to get weirder again. like cmon we've got some new characters let's thing of some new combos.

#the charcuterie board was devoured and ppl rly loved the cookies and the dates r usually popular #and the baked brie too!!!#and then ppl brought their own assortment of treats and drinks as well #i rly enjoyed my blackberry orange drink personally #my gf’s friend does really beautiful pottery and all the food she brought was in her gorgeous homemade pieces #was so fun i love feeding ppl and making things look pretty and festive #my gf did the insane lettering on the drink menu #and decorated so cutely #and then we all went to the halloween event at the amusement park afterwards and it was fun and cold and misty #and i mostly sat outside of haunted houses while they walked thru them haha #i struggle rly rly bad to recover from being startled and sometimes it just. turns into a panic attack even if im not like Scared?? idk #it’s stupid my body just can’t distinguish real danger from fun danger very well #but they had these “’no boo”’ necklaces i could wear so actors would then just interact w me nicely and creepily instead of jumping at me #which was still fun :-)#bummer tho i hate being mentally illlllllll #and rly embarassing bc the necklaces lit up rly bright so it was like i was wearing an im-a-weenie beacon #lolll #also shoutout to my mutual who recognized me while i was waiting for my friends and stopped to say hi LMAO that was crazy #won’t name names so i don’t dox u #but i’ve never been recognized from tumblr before was a very i like your shoelaces moment😭😭😭#top 10 most embarassing things to happen to me ever but thanks for saying hi !!!#personal

my overall interpretation of this song is "I'm trying to break through the friend zone (friendship barrier) so that you like me instead of thinking of me as a friend", so any vagueness in translation went in that direction

The use of "lock horns" in the official translation snippet + the HAO motifs give me the mental image of like, a hand-to-hand kung fu battle, so I leaned towards that imagery whenever there was vagueness (as opposed to like, a military campaign, for example)

deco's official english translations tend to be very liberal, so i tried to keep my translation a little more literal

i don’t know if this is gonna make sense but i feel like Wicked’s casting is bad for like. longevity. bc sure in the Movie Theater having the Movie Theater experience my ape brain goes oh! jeff goldblum! haha cool. then i exit the theater and turn on the soundtrack in the car. then i also listen to it the next day at home with earbuds. and maybe again the day after that in the shower with a speaker. and it’s like hmm. i don’t think seeing jeff goldblum as the wizard of oz is worth having mediocre moments in the soundtrack. that you should want me to listen to multiple times. “i thought he did fine!” fine? it’s. it’s Wicked. genuinely why on earth should i settle for “fine” ITS WICKED i feel like im going bananas.

My hottest tlt take is aromantic Palamedes. He proposed to Dulcinea so that she could be a citizen of the Sixth and wouldn't have to live under scrutiny on the Seventh anymore. This was a sincere offer made out of genuine affection but i dont know if it was necessarily romantic. Like, he didnt want to marry her because He Needed To Fulfill His Love. soo many people mischaracterize shadow in their sonadow stuff to the point where he acts more like knuckles . and so many people also take moments between sonic and knuckles and try to make them about shadow and completely ignore knuckles or take certain themes and dynamics in sonic and knuckles' relationship and apply them to sonic and shadow instead even when it doesnt make sense and theyre just making stuff up. and its so annoying i often feel like im the only person whos noticed this i swear some sonadow fans would like sonknux more if it werent for the fact that they dont really care about knuckles all that much
