Introducing! ELESA, the new kid on the block! She's a tiny bedraggled child from Sinnoh and not all that familiar with Galarian, the spoken language in Unova. (One day she'll be amazing. Right now though, she just wants to go play in the mud. And maybe get a better set of hearing aids.)

When not bitterly lonely, she’s scheming to run back to her old home. Or chasing the local patrat. Or watching nervously from the sidelines as other children play on the swings. Oh elesa. (loosely inspired by @/noxstrages' incredible comics about elesa's origins! Ty for the food.)

I've had Ludovicas girlfriend on the brain for months and finally sketched her out. I see her as the opposite to machete in that she has dark colours and softer shapes. Her ears and facefur kinda blend together and she gets big soft browneyes..

#you've had Ludovica's girlfriend stuck in your brain for months??#oh no now I feel kind of bad about being so vague and noncommittal about her design and personality and everything #I should've made up my mind ages ago #I like her expression here #she looks like a calm and quiet but no nonsense type of lady #at least to me I mean #I'd love to make her uniformly black/dark grey #but I know from experience that it would make her facial details and expressions hard to see #it's entirely possible to make it work but it takes some extra effort #adding even a small focal point (some kind of marking or lighter eyes for example) to anchor the viewer's attention helps a lot #I'm rambling sorry #I think about her often but keep going in circles #but the same thing happened with Ludovica and her design so I'm optimistic that this one will sort itself out eventually as well #I'm flattered ypu find her interesting! I promise I'm working on it #gift art #featherfrond #own characters

#Fourfold Soul #Thing #QUIT #Ruth #Jolis #Finally I can offer some character names!#digital art #I have been hard at work in the character design mines for nearly two months.#I feel like a parent watching my child waddle off to kindergarten....ah...only yesterday you were a wee little mspaint sketch.#The title of 'Fourfold Soul' comes from the 'party' for this RPG being comprised of parts of yourself!#They all have a delightful array of personalities; and by delightful I do mean 'They are personal demons for a reason'.#It's a story about fighting alongside (and against) 'difficult' aspects of yourself.#This is also a story about redemption and reflection. Many other things too - but that is for another time.#(The clown pictured here is indeed the ignored clown from the last comic. Over the years the Fallout fandom definitely has slowly crept further into a “moral high ground over suspension of disbelief” space. I see a lot of people discussing their opinions of Fallout through the lens of their own personal morals that they’d apply to their own life, which is… Strange to me. I feel like dystopian media especially is not the sort of thing you should be judging by your own real life standards. Most things in Fallout are extreme. Most of the factions do extreme things. A lot of the things people do in Fallout would be considered inhumane, cruel or uncanny by modern standards. Because it’s a post-apocalyptic dystopia.

This isn’t me saying “everyone in Fallout is evil, stop expecting otherwise,” because I don’t believe that to be the case. Even good-willed people in Fallout do shit that would be considered extreme by modern standards. I just see a lot of people shying away from discussing the “grittier” aspects of the franchise because it might for whatever reason imply you condone those things in real life.

#I personally think fallout plays into themes of hope and humanity’s drive to rebuild so #the whole raa wasteland makes everybody bad take isn’t my thing #but still. my point here is more that it’s hard to discuss evil factions in fallout without it being like.#taken as a testament to your own beliefs #part of the fun of fallout is observing people doing weird shit in a dystopian setting #part of what makes it compelling too #fallout #which there’s a strange phenomenon going on #wherein tumblr advocates for the separation of fiction and real world morals #and yet I feel like I’ve seen this trend in the fallout community #it’s ok to talk about the legion without reiterating how bad they are every other word i promise

right now i'm very torn between "taking critique is important as an artist and it's not an attack on me personally" and "people commenting about my same face syndrome under my posts upsets me an unreasonable amount and i wish they would stop doing it"

The most insidious thing about depression I think is that it makes you believe that it will always be there and nothing will change.

But I promise you,, that's not true.

There are still things in the world that will bring you joy, even if it's just for a moment.

Your favourite parts of the world are still there, even if you can't see them.

There's also a million other parts of life to fall in love with that you haven't met yet.

Collect those things and moments like trinkets as you find them and keep them in reach when you need them. If you can't find them, go looking for more.

I know it seems impossible but I promise you'll feel even the tiniest bit better someday and it's worth everything to hang on for <3

unironically tho, you need to fill your life with nature and exercise and reading and crafting and cooking and physically engaging with the world around you. the key to happiness is not in your computer screen, especially not if most of your time is spent looking at bad opinions and arguing with people. it sounds so stupid but you are an animal that needs enrichment. so take your meds, go outside or at least look outside and turn off the computer and phone more often. I promise you'll feel better.

#yes yes I know the friends are inside the magic rectangle #you can still talk to your friends online #but maybe actually focus your online time on friend time rather than having a passing conversation with friends as you mainly doomscroll #I promise so hard that if you stop looking at bad shit online for 5 hours straight you'll feel better #pinky promise
