Had a full blown, level 10, all hands on deck, not a drill, “actually nobody likes you” event yesterday.

Long story short, my fiancé was invited to a “guys day” by the male members of our friend group, though the entire friend group is made up of both men and women. My fiancé was part of this group first, but I was folded in when we got together over 6 years ago, so it’s not like I’m not close with them or anything. Anyway, the day comes, my fiancé travels 2 hours to attend this event, and I stay home because it’s a “guys day” and I am not a guy. Then my fiancé calls me when he arrives to let me know that everyone brought their significant others…. Apparently the others decided not to make it a guys day anymore, but didn’t bother to update my fiancé on that for some reason. So all the other non-men in our friend group were there. And I was 2 hours away at home and my fiancé had taken the car so I couldn’t even attempt to show up a little late. So I sat alone while every single person in our friend group except me spent the day having fun together without me.

My fiancé swears they didn’t mean to do it and that it was just a lapse in communication and planning on their end, but it doesn’t really matter the intention, you know? Like the fact that my presence wasn’t important enough for it to occur to any of the people who were well aware of the plan change to consider me at all? They know I exist. We hang out often enough.

Couldn’t they have done this at any other part of my cycle? 😭 Like dawg not the luteal phase pleeeeease I’ll actually cut everyone in my life off over this shit lmaooo

(This makes me thankful all my other friends are individual friends, not friend groups. And also that they’re way too queer for this guys day nonsense.)

Video game I saw in a dream. It was in this low poly style like an older video game. You play as this character I think was meant to be a lamb, or maybe a weird mix of a lamb a mouse and a rabbit, (while not really looking like any of those things) and you’re running away from a wolf. Your objective is to last as long as possible before the wolf catches and eats you.

The house you’re running in is endless and bizarrely put together like most building interiors in dreams are (like the infinite toilet dream dimension on Reddit lol) the layout of the house is pretty detailed, you can stop and hide in places like closets or bins while the wolf looks for you, you can go up and down stairs and into rooms etc.

You never actually know where the wolf is or how close it is to you until it appears in your line of sight, it makes no noise and the game gives you no way of knowing where it is, and it’s pretty unpredictable it doesnt move at a consistent pace. When the wolf catches you there’s an animation showing it eating your character

Is this my best comic ever?? Nope. Do I think I characterized either of these two particularly well in this comic?? Not really. Did I spend an unreasonable amount of time on it to the point that it would be a waste to not post it?? Yes, yes I did.

I really committed to this one, spent a lot of time on those backgrounds and treated myself to ample suffering with the perspective, which is not my strong suit but I am happy with how it ultimately looks. Yay perspective and background practice!!

(Tbh I shouldn't talk like I think this one sucks, I think I've just been staring at it for so long that my brain has decided it's not good and it's actually way better than I think it is, and honestly I am quite happy with it. The artistic process really is something, isn't it?)

The inspiration was basically me reminding... myself... to take breaks sometimes... by drawing for several hour stints during my only little bits of free time. Which totally tracks. Probably. But I've been rolling around in my brain this idea that Lambert is a very uptight people pleaser and anxious workaholic, but Narinder, at least since adjusting himself to the circumstances (which probably took at least a century, maybe two) has discovered the joys of self care, and has made an active effort to chill tf out. This has not made him any less terrifying to the cultists (save for Lambert's closest disciples), nor has it made him friendlier to really anyone but Lambert (and maybe his siblings), but he sure has found some serious peace of mind. That said, I can't place what his motivations are here. Perhaps he is secretly concerned about Lambert's sanity, because he doesn't want them to turn into what he was, or maybe he's just trying to steal away some quality time with his one and only friend, but regardless of the reason, I spent too much time on this for nobody to see it, dang it.

That said. Enjoy this silly little comic that I spent way too much time on, and I hope this silly comic brings you some joy today.
