there are no restrictions on who may use this label; if you feel it fits, you may use it. an example of the way I identify with this label for clarity's sake:

i am a bigender butch transmasculine individual. after beginning hormone replacement therapy, i felt myself becoming more comfortable identifying as both male and female simultaneously. my feminine identity post-transition is not the same as the femininity forced onto me through my childhood & adolescence; it is distinctly transgender in nature, not cisgender. i feel that through the process of transmasculine transition, i have developed a revised relationship with femininity. thus, i identify as revitrans-feminine.

this is a coining post for a term wei have been floating around for a bit internally, but wanted to share. wei haven't been able to find a label that accurately describes our experiences, particularly the ways that our identity as transfeminine is distinguished from others through the way we discovered it and interact with the world.

there has been so much discourse surrounding "afab transfem"/"amab transmasc" identities, often filled to the brim with many transphobic (and anti-multigender) sentiments on both sides. wei have struggled to have productive discussion about people who share this experience of reconnecting with their gender assigned at birth in a new & distinct way from when it was forced upon us -- an experience that is definitively transgender in nature, and is interconnected with our initial transgender identity as well.

this term is not meant to imply that revitrans- individuals have the same relationships with systemic oppression based on AGAB as other transgender individuals, in fact, it is the opposite. my experience as revitrans-feminine is simply not going to be the same as AMAB transfems. my interactions with transmisogyny on a daily basis are not the same, either. regardless, wei firmly believe that our relationship with gender should not be defined by the oppression we face. multigendered identity is complicated and nuanced, and this term serves to define just one of many multigendered experiences. this term does NOT reflect a desire to appropriate any groups experiences, but rather, a unique multigender experience that maintains connections to a more common/coloquial understanding of transfemininity/transmasculinity

Therapist knows I'm a writer and one of her occasional suggestions is to write about stuff I'm trying to untangle, whether that's in the Shivadhverse or elsewhere. I was trying to do that earlier in the week without much success which is why I was like PLEASE I JUST WANT TO FINISH SOMETHING and ended up writing The Olive Harvest 2023. It's not about the stuff we were talking about but at least I wrote SOMETHING.

But I'm now working on the PowerPoint for this coming week and I did want to at least discuss the Struggle. So I think you all should know that what I'm doing today is screencapping your nice comments on The Olive Harvest, anonymizing them, and putting them into a slide like a tag cloud, as a way of demonstrating what writing does for my mental health.

Names are censored for obv privacy reasons and I don't want to put any of my own readers on blast because I trust comments like these are made with good intention. I appreciate y'all for loving what I do here and putting it out there for others to read along, but I don't do it for this. As much as Rekindled is indeed a parody redraw of LO that's trying to "fix" a lot of the original comic's issues, at the end of the day it's still just a Tumblr project that I'm doing here for fun and I don't want to see it used as ammunition in the comments sections dedicated specifically to LO (for clarification, this was in the @webtoonofficial announcement post for LO winning its third Eisner).

Whether or not it's "better" than LO is subjective and irrelevant. I obviously can't pretend like I didn't have my own motivations to "fix" what I felt was broken, but the act of "fixing" was for those of us who saw it as broken, not for those who love LO as is.

I also can't reasonably ask anyone to keep their opinions about Rekindled to themselves, it's a piece of work that is publicly available and therefore that will put it under the lens of public opinion, but from me to you, this ain't the way. I host it on Tumblr and DH precisely to keep it out of the main view of the fans/stans, because this work isn't for them, it's for all of you who share my disappointment in the original series. I want to be able to run this space free of any extreme fandom discourse - this is also why you won't see me using general LO tags on Tumblr/IG - but the only way that can happen is if we all play nice and don't let the heat of the discourse get to us. Rest assured, I will always stand by my work and what I do here because I love it and have found my lost joy in what LO used to mean to me through it as well as a community of amazing writers and creators... but prevention is better than the cure and I don't want any of that heat getting thrown back my way through weaponizing of my work with or without my knowing in the first place.

Am I pissed about the comic's third win? Absolutely. And as much as I feel it isn't worth anyone's time or energy to get into bickering matches with the stans in these comment sections, those opinions regarding the comic pre-exist my participation in this fandom and would have, one way or another, hit that boiling point regardless (and it's been wild to watch that comment section go down, I can't lie lmao) But this is not the way. Rekindled is - to me, and hopefully to you, too - a reclaiming of the love and passion people like myself used to have for LO, and a celebration of Greek myth and transformative fiction as a genre, above everything else it stands for or could be interpreted as. It's not a weapon meant to be used in discourse. Let's please do our best to be mindful of that so we can keep having fun in this special little space we've carved for ourselves and not make ourselves into the monsters we're often made out to be just for critically discussing and transforming a piece of media that, in spite of all its flaws, brought us together in the way that it did. Now for some technical advice: Most tumblrina’s turn on ‘hide likes and follower count’ . Any blog can have 4 people following it or 4000, we like to keep it mysterious.

Also turn of ‘best content first’- once again, the algorithm is not to be trusted.

I read so many wonderful, hot, gut-wrenching, unforgettable, inspiring Pedro Pascal character fanfics... and I haven't been reblogging them 🫣 (it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me). Don't hate me please - reblogging gives me so much anxiety, and I'm not even sure I could articulate why if I tried - and I see a lot of the discussion/discourse/posts re: reblogging and I truly understand all perspectives although it just seems to elevate my nerves about even more.

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE POST UPDATE BEFORE FORMING AN OPINION. i don’t love getting into discourse but I haven’t seen anyone share this perspective so I thought I might as well, I am open to good faith discussion though.

I feel like what confuses me about the whole transandrophobia /transmisandry/ etc debate is that some people are thinking it’s the axis of misandry (not real) + transphobia and rightfully criticizing that concept, but I was under the impression it was about the intersection of sexism (based on agab & perceived “real” sex) + transphobia. And because transmisogyny is already taken and may induce dysphoria it ended up needing a different name, so the gender affirming but not perfectly descriptive transandrophobia (transandro + phobia not trans + androphobia) and the questionable transmisandry (yeah I don’t like and won’t defend this one) came about. This is why I think transandrophobia IS a valid term, HOWEVER I also agree that it’s definitely used wrong very frequently in an oppression olympics type way to minimize transfems experiences and even attack transfems. Which I do not support. But I feel like cutting out the term completely isn’t the answer because it can be used to describe, for example: certain types of malgendering, and issues around trans pregnancy care.

I’m gonna end this with another disclaimer in case the text was too long: NO “transandrophobia” is not transfems oppressing transmascs on a systemic level

YES there are people using the term transandrophobia to perpetuate harm against transfems, and that should absolutely be addressed, (I’ll try to find posts elaborating on this to tag in replies)

that just doesn’t necessarily mean the term itself should be thrown away. just like every form of oppression can be weaponized to exclude/shift the blame to other marginalized groups.

UPDATE: the above was my opinion at the time of posting but a very nice commenter linked to the coiners definition of transandrophobia, which explains a lot of what I’ve been seeing. Needless to say it’s not the above, and is imo more of an intercomunity phenomenon (that exists in various ways with various forms of oppression) than a form of oppression. So I’m now not sure what term should be used to describe the discrimination I talked about in my post, but I can agree it’s not transandrophobia. Maybe if I can’t find one I’ll coin it myself, who knows? But basically sorry for any confusion and thank you for the consideration.

I find the recent "proshippers who express their dislike for certain AUs/ships/characters are just as bad as antis and aren't really proshippers" discussion to be...interesting? Here's my two cents:

I reject the dichotomy, tbh. I think we, without even realizing it, get a bit too hung up on the "ship" part of it and not hung up enough on the "pro" part of it. We all know that antis don't just send death threats and rape threats and other horrendous stuff just due to ships. They do the same over characters, kinks, tropes, etc. Even if you don't ship Reylo, you're seen as just as bad as the filthy Reylos if you're pro Bendemption.

HOWEVER...I really do not think we should liken "omg they ship wincest how cringe" or even "oh ew wincest is gross, shippers dni" to sending actual hate, threats, etc to wincest shippers. Personally, I am no more or less offended by "I hate Jarley shippers so much, their taste is awful!" than I am by "I hate high school AU writers so much, their taste is awful!" Sure, an anti trashtalking Jarley or other #toxique pairings definitely has more connotations and implications than a proshipper trashtalking ~vanilla~ AUs, but the actual WORDS aren't really all that different, yk?

I think, unless you're actually harassing someone -- and i do mean harassing, not sending a one-off troll anon -- and i do mean someone, not just a vague DNI banner in your card or a general post here and there about how Incest Is Bad, then you can express whatever opinions you want so long as you stay out of the tag and don't say your opinion directly as a reaction to someone telling you about their work. (eg "I just started my MCU/Sherlock crossover fanfic!" "Omg what? That's so cringe! Write a Serbian pigeon movie AU instead")

I'm one of the people who identifies as an ex-anti, but i think i was more of the whole "i'm not, but i believe in their beliefs." I was always against harassment and threats and I often unfollowed/blocked people who DID do that shit or who made callout posts or whatever. If we were close enough, I'd tell the person off, knowing they'd probably be more willing to listen to a friend or mutual who has their beliefs than a stranger on the other end of the spectrum. Really, the worst I ever did was reblog those stupid posts about fiction impacting reality (the infamous Jaws post comes to mind in particular) or about how incest/age gap/etc is Bad and Wrong. Definitely not super cool, but it was by no means bullying or harassment.

If I were to go out of my way and express my hate for a certain series or character or ship or trope in the tag, in the comments, to someone's face, I'd be a pretty terrible person! But if I just post on my blog about how something isn't for me, that's not harassing anyone.

Even today I think I still have a "not, but believe in their beliefs" stance about proshipping. Maybe I wore myself out of it when I was in my anti phase, but at this point I don't really have much desire to discuss it, outside of this ask i guess lol and occasionally some comments on the ao3 subreddit. I don't even reblog those uwu here's how the world works posts that are like "REMINDER that ao3 is an ARCHIVE :) it was created for PROBLEMATIC CONTENT :)" "ALL SHIPS ARE GOOD SHIPS" "fiction is not reality!" types of posts that are not explicitly about proshipping but also are clearly about proshipping. Not even because I disagree, but because at this point in time it feels very similar to reblogging "HEY :) please DONT feed the animals at the zoo :)" "Reminder that you need to TURN YOUR PHONE ON before you can start using it :)" or other like...incredibly basic infos about life lol. It's basically the ship discourse equiv of those early 2012 posts that are like "REBLOG IF YOU SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE <3" Like, yes, but...I don't need to do bare-bones virtue signalling on my blog for you to figure that out LOL

Im getting off topic and i don't really know what the original point i'm trying to make here is, just like...I get that it always sucks to see someone bashing your taste, even if it's just casual or humorous. but I think if someone is just making a post about how much they dislike certain things, that doesn't mean they're not a pro-shipper. It's only when you start actually being rude to people that I might question your actual "anti-harassment" values. I don't have many dark tastes myself, but I also am not a huge fan of the flowershop/school/job/modern AUs. Me saying "rape fics aren't for me" or "coffee shop fics aren't for me" hold the same exact weight and they say nothing about my views on fiction and what should and shouldn't be read or written; i'm neither a puritan who hates Bad Things nor a pretentious asshat who hates Silly Things. I will support the beloved mutuals'/friends' dark fiction from afar...I will do the exact same thing with their lighthearted fiction. i try not to keep ANY negative opinions on my blog, even if it's just an innocent post about how i dont enjoy a certain thing. but the vocal-minority idea that no one is allowed to say anything negative ever or they're not actually anti harassment is uh. Fascinating for sure!

Welcome welcome to the The Best Frank x Eddie Ship Name Poll!

Ever wonder why our favorite gay puppets dont have a very consistent ship name (idk if thats true on tiktok i dont go there)? Wanna see all the options we have to offer!? Let the name ideas duke it out in this silly and stupid bracket that i did on a whim.

So here's how this'll work: I announce the upcoming poll 3 days in advanced. In that time, y'all can send me asks directly or use the announcement poll comments or reblog function to argue WHY your preferred ship name in the poll is a better option. Or just tag me in your post.

Once the poll is officially up I'll leave it up for 3 days, and once the results are in, the winner gets to move on with the bracket.

So , now that the event has officially come to an end I think I would like to say my 2 cents on the troll account that popped in the middle of an event . Irrespective of which fandom or side this person belongs to one thing that is accurate is that it's an abomination that shouldn't have been born at all. I am a 100% sure its someone everyone hates in their real life too.

Now, is it fair to blame the entire group of Elriels for that troll? No , but what is shitty is Elriels pretending an Elriel has "never" done anything like that.... That's inaccurate...

Below is an example from a verified Elriel account saying exactly the same sort of shit .... since some of you want to pretend it's not an elriel thing

There you go a verified Elriel who has been around for a while ... and consistent discourse in SA insensitivity. .. So its reasonable for people to assume the troll account is an Elriel... stop pretending to be Victims. I have a few more examples from other accounts that are verified Elriel too

One of Elriels lead Commissioners on Gwyn ... So this BS that Elriels have never made hate posts or insensitive posts about Gwyn is farthest from the truth. No one is buying it .

2. This troll account popped up in the middle of an event, an event that was going exceptionally well and was getting the recognition and reach it deserved , why would one of our own cause Drama to disrupt that ?

3. The trolls brain , the quality of that brain is unbelievable.... its unfortunately questionable ... How ?

Now , do I care which side that asshole belongs to ? Not really , anyone who has been here a while knows shitty people in this fandom are rampant irrespective of the side .

Sexual Abuse is not limited to females so when someone writes terrible things about SA survivors it's not gender based hate speech , Male assault is just as real and relevant too.. its an insult to SA Survivors as a whole ... I don't give a fuck about people's personal opinions about fictional characters but when you specifically write posts that are insensitive towards what is a very real issue in today's world you should stand up against it irrespective of the group .

Can I submit something to defend your blurbo because I have some questions for the Trigun Fandom?

Why do you guys go crazy over Wolfwood? To me, he seems like a generic anime guy, but the amount of comments, tags, and memes I have seen about his “Catholic titties” is astounding, and I am confused and a little worried about you guys. Why is the Catholic part so vital that it has to be emphasized every time? No one can ever just comment about his titties. It has to be his Catholic titties every time. Again, I'm just curious. Trigun is a smaller fandom than others, but Wolfwood is sweeping in polls against much larger fandoms. So I would just like answers on why you guys go absolutely delulu over a character that I perceive as average in Hot Factor.
