A mating bond is a tether between souls; a connection deeper than the eye can see. Based upon the language and foreshadowing that has been laid out so beautifully, it is without a doubt that Azriel and Gwyn are fated mates and they share that deeper soul connection. For this piece, I envisioned Gwyn being able to feel what Azriel feels and their bond allows her to offer him that comfort—that healing. Yin and Yang.

This piece is also a play on the abilities that Gwyn may have in future books, especially once she feels comfortable enough to wear her invoking stone headpiece once more. As Azriel’s shadows react in such a way to both his and her voices, I wonder if her light can do the same. After all, like calls to like.

Happy Winter Solstice—the night that became a catalyst for it all!

Let her friend sob into her chest.

"I'll face it with you," Gwyn whispered, over and over again. "Promise me we'll face it together."

My favorite thing about ACOSF was the friendship and bond formed between the Valkyries, the way they are always willing to fight for each other.

That's why I wanted to bring this scene to @gwynweekofficial, in which Gwyn shows her courage and loyalty and is willing to fight to the end alongside her friend

Happy solstice to all, lets reminisce about the cute and swoony scene that happened today where Azriel the coldest shadowsinger and spymaster was smiling unconsciously like a teenage girl thinking about her crush when he imagined Gwyn's smile and bright eyes.

Azriel in the future books being proud of Gwyn coming out of the library and interacting with others but at the same time being possessive because now everyone can see her *charming irreverence*

Him being torn apart of wanting to show her off to the world but the same time wanting her to be only his secret, lovely beauty.

Ugh I cannot wait for this.

Az spent 500 years pining after Mor because he thought she was his mate. She's not.

Then when Feyre and Nesta were mated to Rhysand and Cassian, he thought Elain should be his mate because she's the third sister and he's the third brother. She's not.

Meanwhile, Az's mate - Gwyn - is right there bantering with him, challenging him, teasing him, causing his shadows to sing and dance, and Az is...totally oblivious to it.

I cannot wait for their book because I want to see how long it takes Az before he starts to realize that Gwyn may be his mate 🤣
