Also, Emerie IS Illyrian. Winning the Blood Rite and claiming the title Carynthian was not cultural appropriation, it’s her culture to begin with. Gwyn was carried up the mountain by an Illyrian woman, rightfully earning the title.

And Nesta stayed back, earning the title Oristian so that her friends could climb that mountain. She had been taught the custom by her Illyrian Mate, and participated in an honorable way.

While it was a nice attempt to claim they’re racist or “appropriating cultures” you failed miserably.

Saying that Feyre becoming Illyrian isn’t appropriation because it’s a physical change, but that girls becoming Valkyries is because they’re not culturally tied to the original Valkyrie legion is an insane take

Ok but imagine Elain and Lucien arguing about the bond and Lucien blurts out something like "I'm sorry the Cauldron gave you a mate who's so disfigured you can barely bring yourself to look at me" or something like that and Elain just pauses in utter shock because that is the exact opposite of why she can't look him in the eyes.

The truth is, he's so devastatingly handsome that she can't bring herself to look at him fully without blushing. And the thought that he could ever find himself unworthy of her nearly brings her to tears.

Elriel shippers got to be the dumbest people on the planet fr. Not only do they have zero chemistry but the bonus chapter literally shot that ship to hell. SJM could not be more clear.. Azriel’s feelings towards Elain are projections of his jealousy that his two brothers have found their true love and he’s still alone. He only thinks he likes Elain because she’s literally just there. That’s it.

Meanwhile in that same chapter we see Azriel criticized for his entitlement to Elain and he immediately forms a genuine and organic connection with Gwyn.

Not to mention the idea of an Elain and Ariel romance would be the most boring book possible. And if those 2 are endgame, good luck cuz that book will be boring AF.

Unpopular opinion but if we don't get Elucien, I'd rather have Tamlain over Elriel. And I say this as an ex Elriel shipper. I love both the idea of Elucien and Tamlain and see the incredible potential for both. I never jumped on the hate train for Tamlin. I think it's unwarranted and he was done dirty by the fandom, especially when there's worse characters. I'd prefer Elucien first though but if for some reason we don't, then Tamlain would be awesome too. I very much doubt a Tamlain paring would be written in the story but I see the potential for it. Az's POV totally ruined my thoughts and hopes for Elriel. SJM needs to stop hornificating (not sure if real word but oh well) her characters. Its ruining them. I would even love it if we get Elucien but with an Elain and Tamlin friendship!!
