I ain't gonna lie, I do noooot think radblr is gonna come out of this Imane Khelif thing unscathed. Like, y'all, I'm sorry, but there is not enough evidence for some of y'all to confidently call this person male and say some of the stuff you've been saying. I sort of feel like the fact the woman in anatomy of a fall fits certain stereotypes typically exploited in court and in public perception for negative effect / to make us mistrust her is one of the reasons why I don't actually think she killed her husband (though the film does leave the truth deliberately ambiguous). by this I mean she's a bisexual woman in a tense and crumbling marriage who has had affairs, she's quite straightforward and 'cold' in her manner as opposed to overly people pleasing and forthcoming emotionally, she will defend herself in argument with her husband without qualm or an attempt to claim blame for things she doesn't believe she's culpable for, etc etc.

her husband calls her icy and uncaring, the prosecution accuse her of seduction of an attractive female journalist, and she continues to not let up in court and to fight her corner. and after having conversations with people, including men, after watching, I wonder how many people in the audience, especially men, realise that these are common tropes used against women in the legal system to incriminate them. women are punished much more for being promiscuous and straightforward than men are in comparable situations, and this is why these tropes are played up as being so indicative of guilt in the first place. but interestingly it's the inclusion of all of these stereotypes that make me think we're probably supposed to believe that she is innocent, or at least that makes me think so, in spite of the use of tropes made to suggest she's incapable of loving her husband properly or feeling the correct amount of sorrow over his death.

but anyway, that's just my two cents. I'm actually really interesting in hearing from others whether they think she killed him or not!

sometimes I think about how the book that contained John wasn't meant for Arthur.

At any point in time, before it reached Arthur and Parker's office, anyone could open it. It could have been Noel before he sent it. It could have been Roland. It could have been the guy from the bookstore or a random customer. It could have been even just Parker.

But it was Arthur who opened up that book, it was Arthur who miraculosly survived and it was Arthur who managed to retain most of his body. Out of all people who held this book in their hands it was Arthur who eventually got John.

And sometimes I think how much does this fact matters towards John's journey to humanity. Considering that Kayne only talked about other Arthurs and Johns I can only assume that only they managed to get as far(or as far as they could)

Just....this idea that neither Arthur nor John were meant for each other. If fate was a little bit different, they would completely miss each other. John would be in some other body and maybe he wouldn't even be "John". And Arthur would be still in Arkham, working as an PI (even if he continue to do so)

They weren't meant for each other, but the idea that despite that they are ultimately perfect for each other. Because only if it's them they manage to get this far. Only if it's them they manage to continue their journey. Only if it's them they are on the path to becoming a better version of themselves.

And I think that this particular instance of them being two different entities that ended up together by a stroke of fate but despite that managed to carve something beautiful is super annoying to Kayne. Considering how much he states himself as the one who controls the narrative, who can change the location and time and fates of characters how he wants - THIS ONE moment he didn't change. It just happened. And we deal with waves that this caused.

The headcanon I like to follow for why Danny's ghost half was Like That after being torn from him in TUE is that the personalities of Danny's ghost and human halves are based on how he perceives them at the time of being separated. That's pretty much what happened in Identity Crisis, with Fun Danny and Super Danny reflecting the two aspects of himself that he wanted to espouse. So it makes sense to me that if Danny blamed his ghost half for his loved ones (and Lancer) dying and saw it/him as bad and dangerous, his ghost half when separated would act accordingly.

An idea I've been playing with is if the Elucien book is next, I wonder if SJM will have it set up where it happens before the events of HOFAS/during HOFAS like ToD and EoS. Because that may explain both of their absences in the time Bryce spent in the NC. They could be in Spring, or Day, or even Autumn for the Beron plotline.

I think at one point SJM may have said the next ACOTAR starts a few months after SF, but that might still fall between SF and HOFAS since there's six months between. I feel like that could set sooo many things in motion and explain a lot that we saw in HOFAS.

i.e., Nesta's reaction to Azriel saying Elain was waiting, and the way the Mask flared. (Perhaps tensions between them due to Elain’s conflict avoidance? She did refer to Elain as a wretch for sitting as far away as possible from Lucien during Solstice in SF. Or Elain's departure from the Night Court might've been on partially sour terms?) Azriel being noticeably closer and openly kinder/affectionate towards Nesta. (With both objects of Azriel’s unhealthy, unavailable pining gone, [assuming Mor returns to Vallahan and Elain has left the NC, with or without Lucien] perhaps we see more of who he is when he's not in his worst, 'why don't I deserve love?' mindset. The constant reminders via their presence could be removed, potentially.
